I was trying to see how far back I could go in her filmography to spot her appearances as an extra. I haven’t seen the full length film but she appears a few times as one of Lily Ho (何莉莉)’s maids. This is one of several Chor Yuen films that Michelle took part in shortly after graduating from the Shaw Brothers acting class in 1972.

In a interview for RTHK’s 電視風雲半世紀 (Television at 50) podcast, Michelle recalled a Shaw instructor’s advice to study the performances of other actors on the studio lot when the class members themselves were on their free time. This included Lily Ho’s performance in The Casino | 吉祥賭坊 (1972), from which Michelle learned how she could do emotional and crying scenes.

About the film itself, which is 18+ by the way:

Its an exploitation era film about sexual exploitation and trafficking, but Lily Ho also gets revenge on everyone who exploited her by killing them with a lot of wuxia flair, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯? It also features a sex scene between Lily and Betty Pei Ti, the brothel’s madam. The scene was actually quite tastefully done for a Hong Kong film of that time, though the character’s ultimate intent was to get revenge on her supposed lover. Other nudity-filled scenes in this film would be more problematic today, even though it is literally set in a brothel.

Intimate Confessions does seem to review quite positively from what I’ve seen of film critic and online reviews. Naturally, if you are going to watch it, you can come to your own conclusions.
