Last fanart of 2024.
A happy new year 2025.
Too all my friends and inspiration.
This year was very interesting for movies. This year might also be the year I avoided most of the popular opinions, as, I gotta admit. With the movies this year, a lot more people felt more toxic when it came to new movies this year. I just wanna have fun with my crossovers, and I think the fighting over which movie is better kinda weighed me down this year. despited KFP 4 wasn'that perfect at the end, some movies were decently good and some friends having some new characters as anthro (The Wild Robot, but i find it interesting, but learn to respect that hc), but it doesn't matter i have a good year and brand new crossover fanart for this. And new thing to earn more money and popularity on 2025.
Wish me luck!

Best animated movies of 2024 (from what I seen)
The Wild Robot
Wallace & Gromit Vengeance Most Fowl
Cricket and Antoinette (English dub came out in 2024)
Orion and the Dark
Spellbound
Haikyuu Dumpster Battle
Despicable Me 4
Kung Fu Panda 4
Thelma the Unicorn
Inside Out 2 and Moana 2 (equally put them at the bottom)
I didn't include the TADC episodes because as a TADC fan, that wouldn't be fair! Also, I haven't seen Hitpig or My Oni Girl yet. I wanted to watch my Oni girl but there's no English dub.

Back to the movies after a week. Hitpig got mixed reviews from my moots (despite Leticia, Anitta’s character, looking pretty cool), and one moot recommended to wait for streaming to watch Hitpig, so I decided to watch Memoir of a Snail instead.
Dunno much about this except it’s about twins dealing with tragedy, and it’s made by someone who made a well-acclaimed movie about autistic people, so it must be good, right?

Another fantastic hold for THE WILD ROBOT, only dropping 11%. We had two screenings at my cinema, to make way for a couple of new movies and advance screenings of others... And both screenings were packed, likely due to a lack of more screenings and folks really wanting to keep catching this one in theaters. $130m domestic now, and circling $300m worldwide. Pretty solid for a post-COVID outbreak animated movie, once more.
HITPIG! 62%-ed itself out of the Top 10, $2m total so far. Berkeley Breathed couldn't catch a break with the movies, this and MARS NEEDS MOMS. Yeesh.
MEMOIR OF A SNAIL added another 400+ theaters and went up 190%... I hope it comes to my area.
TRANSFORMERS ONE. Still around somewhere. $58m DOM / $128m WW.
PIECE BY PIECE got knocked out big time, 71% drop. $10m worldwide overall. Another one that deserved better.
We're in the quiet zone 'til MOANA 2. Tracking indicates a 5-day well above $100m. Maybe the three-day itself could be that. The original in 2016 opened w/ $56m, and with it regularly topping the streaming charts every year and being just one of those movies that's just synonymous w/ Disney's animation now... Who's to say it doesn't see an INCREDIBLES 2/INSIDE OUT 2-esque bump?
If the movie is satisfactory for audiences, regardless of what any of us on here think, it could make a play for INSIDE OUT 2's numbers even or make some monster numbers.
WDAS' last two features didn't resonate as well with audiences, and had not-great legs, so if MOANA 2 doesn't play like that - in that it's more ENCANTO than it is WISH, it should be fine all holiday long. MUFASA I predict does so-so here but does great worldwide. ALICE 2/MALEFICENT 2-style performance.

Veteran’s Day Goes to Niche Titles: Here’s Why
With Veteran’s Day now receding behind us, the box office has another lesson to deliver about why indie movies matter to its bottom line. While Venom: The Last Dance unsurprisingly took the top spot, a considerable portion of the top 20 represented indie and niche movies, often with performances better than expected for their category. Our industry insider, review entertainment attorney Brandon Blake from Blake & Wang P.A., shares the good news.
Brandon Blake
Modest Budgets Win
Venom: The Last Dance may have taken the weekend’s No. 1 spot, but with the slates over Veteran’s Day weekend, that’s unsurprising. Nor was it a particularly compelling gross, at $16.2M. However, the movie has taken almost $400m globally and has the potential to match the $507M of its precursor, so it is still on a strong trajectory.
A24’s Heretic and Lionsgate’s The Best Christmas Pageant Ever fought it out for the No 2. spot, both pulling in around $11M, better than projected and outpacing their modest budgets. Nor were they alone in these performances. This was a remarkably eclectic Top 20.
Typically, studios push blockbuster fare for Veteran’s Day weekend due to the four-day holiday. This year, however, the elections being so soon before Veteran’s Day, coupled with a general reduction in film output still from last year’s strikes, meant that many larger releases were intentionally delayed. The moderate and lower budget film tiers benefited greatly. The Best Christmas Pageant Ever has some potential to become a sleeper hit, especially with some holiday theming and strong word of mouth to play with.
The Role of Inexpensive Originals
While many are pinning their hopes on the upcoming releases of Moana 2, Gladiator 2, Red One, and Wicked to keep the box office pumping strongly into the new year, this weekend’s slate showcases the critical role of inexpensive original films in keeping both box office attendance and theatergoer interest high.
Only five films in the Top 20 grossing films this weekend could be classified as medium to high budget. Meanwhile, specialty films like Conclave, Anora, and We Live in Time have thrived, with impressive runs for their class. Terrifier 3 continues to perform amazingly, while Elevation and Overlord: The Lost Kingdom turned in respectable performances.
The weekend even saw strong performances from three Indian releases, a Taiwanese production, and the British animation Hitpig. In short, there was something for any taste to enjoy. And therein lies the real magic.
This weekend proves what industry analysts have long argued — a healthy box office needs diversity. While tentpole releases remain crucial revenue drivers, mid-budget and indie films maintain steady attendance between blockbusters and capture audiences seeking more varied content. They also serve as testing grounds for emerging talent and fresh storytelling approaches.
As the industry continues to recover from recent disruptions, this weekend's success of smaller productions demonstrates that theatrical releases remain viable across all budget levels. It suggests a sustainable future where big-budget spectacles and modest productions can coexist profitably, ultimately creating a more resilient and dynamic film industry.
