Didn’t know you were a Hitman fan Helios! Learn something new all the time. Yea it’s been a spell since I’ve contributed here, I’ve been caught up in some new games and some real life problems and so completely spaced this project.

The Lanterns of all colors consider the Sky Rings to be a shoddy knockoffs of their Rings. But considering the guys who made it were normal humans working with only half an idea, and not a race of nigh gods with access to the concentrated essence of emotions and powers of the cosmos, I think they did pretty well. Although I would stick with Sky Rings for the most part in this story since they’re actually fleshed out. Perhaps only mention the potential for Earth and Sea Rings. Maybe some research and diagrams pertaining to such, some prototypes, but they never got past the idea phase. The creators were close to a breakthrough with Earth but couldn’t quite crack it.

I can see Arslan accidentally figuring out she has Sun energies, she’s a fighter type after all. Then the NDGO girls of her Simp Squad can learn to harness some of the other Rings. Give Pyr some more jealousy since even more normies are showing her up in a way, taking and earning what they want through grit. Jaune would be a Sky type I would guess, he does bring people together and is a leader. However he’ll need a Vongola grade ring to bring out his full potential, he keeps shattering anything below a High B/Low A grade ring. Either that, or his Sky Flames would start off weak and grow in strength as he abandons his solo grimdark mindset and moves into a leader of noblebright. If Emerald has her Illusion Semblance, then god help us if she gets a Mist Ring as well. The horror.

I just said Golden Bear as a pun. Golden blonde hair + adopted by Big Bear + Papa Bear Energy = Golden Bear! That’s Yangs level punnery right there! Ain’t I sho clever? 🤪 But you giving him a mask gave the think of a Pooh Bear mask for a second there. I was rolling! I don’t think I’d be able to take anyone seriously with that stupid face looking at me.

Saw a good line we can use from an AMV: “I don’t need the power, I’d rather see my family fed.” That was from JT Music’s AC Valhalla rap. JT, DanBull, Nerdout!, they make some good videos. The scene can be some Grimm General seeing the Knights capabilities so offers more power to get him on his side. He’s both insulted and flabbergasted at someone not only rejecting a ‘gift’ from him but also declining power, nobody turns down power!

Read a funny bit for Harry Potter that we can use here. The scene was when Harry was first brought to the Weasley home and the dad, Arthur, was confused seeing at Harry. Someone had the idea that his line of thought was “this one’s not a ginger, did we adopt one?” For a chuckle we can have Papa Arc coming back from a long tiring day, been drinking because he nabbed a great deal, caught up with an old buddy over a game of golf(golf=lots of booze), or something, he looks at this new girl who isn’t blonde, like one of the Gynoids, and asks his wife when they adopted. Mama just exasperatedly slaps him over the head. Sure only half his cylinders were firing, but that still comes off as rude.

Did we decide which franchise we’re using for the Gynoids? I’ll be ok with whatever, but part of me wants a biological subgroup like Sekirei or the summons from FGO. Something more natural, close combat, and halfway on the magic side to counter the more artificial, ranged, and munitions based girls. The bio girls are fewer in number and take the hits harder, but they have a more soul connection with Jaune and can actually reproduce. Unless they find something that allows the robot girls the capability to reproduce as well.

For all their differences and arguments, the one thing they can agree on is that their Master is a handful and a half. Charging off to fight monsters head on, conspiring with unpredictable magical and criminal forces, galavanting off to who knows where through an ever changing set of mystical roads to who knowns where and filled with who knows what. Does he have a death wish or something?

We may need to get permission to use Ying if we are wanting to use her. Otherwise we’ll have to make a Flipped Pyrrha. We have Thora for Nora, but I don’t know who she belongs to and I wanna keep Renora out of this mess. However if she does come in, then everyone can ignore Nora when she claims that Thora is ‘a flipped copy of her that came into being from a sorcerer’s spell’. Weird cousin is more likely. Or just keep with BLGA, this cast is getting big. Bleiss can be a funny and different take here: Weiss is tsundere smitten with Jaune and despises Shadow, but Bleiss can be obsessively smitten with Shadow and unimpressed with Jaune. Kinda like how Felicia from Marvel loves the idea of Spiderman yet isn’t usually down for Peter Parker. It’s a double whammy when they find out they both love and hate the same person.

For the guys of the Squad, what if they get hit with an R63 spell? It’s temporary of course, but it’s a classic anime trope! Move aside Jaune, Neptune, and Sun! It’s Joan, Aqua, and Moon’s time to shine! Whether it be from a miscast spell, a prank, or ‘a quick solution’ to having only one bath yet two gender groups. They have a hell of a time because all their biology is flipped so they need to recalibrate their brains. All that extra mass on their chests takes a bit to get used to. I can’t decide what’s funnier: this happens before or after the gang finds out their secret identities? I just hope that Jaune’s armor is also altered to fit his womanly proportions if she does end up in a fight. However I can say that Yang and Blake are green with envy over how Joan has bigger bust and butt than both of them. Not sure what everyone else is jealous over, but everyone is in a panic over their preferences. Even the dudes are ogling her. It’s not fair how J can be so damn sexy as a guy and a girl. They’re groping her, demanding answers how a dude hit with a spell is sexier than they are naturally, until Joan regains control of herself and leaves them with some good knocks on the head.

For the Arena I would think that when Jaune was kidnapped, it was just another run for the raiders and grabbed Jaune when he had his pants down and no gear to fight back with. Just to protect his gear from getting lost and destroyed by the Arena boss. If I was in charge of an illegal bloodsport arena, anyone new would be stripped of their belongings and given mere basics. ‘Even the playing field’ a little. Can’t have my ‘loyal’ and ‘popular’ Arena Champions getting killed by an upstart with something that isn’t ’arena approved’ or unsure if I could control them. Ignore the fact the Champions are trained and geared up to the nines against near naked, probably inexperienced competition with fifth rate equipment. Jaune’s bouts and growth of gear was inspired by the SoulsBorne series, starting off with a rusty broken sword and taking gear from those you’ve vanquished. And with Jaune refusing to ‘play by the rules’, the Boss would try to vanish Jaune to keep his control. However with Jaune’s Aura keeping him safe from assassins, poisons, the worst gauntlets possible, and other things, and with Jaunes natural ability to inspire allies and his rotten luck to get into then survive whatever trouble Fate throws him in, it’s only a matter of time before he overthrows the Boss. I have no idea what the other Gladiators and spectators would name him.

The Arena Master could also have taken humans before and never had any issues. He stays away from High Elves(Tolkien) since they’re way more trouble than they’re worth, Low Elves(Elder Scrolls) are fine, Orks in small numbers, Giants on occasion, and so on. Humans are just fodder for the most part. Since hero types are so rare he wasn’t expecting any of the old stories of heroic humans to actually be true or that Jaune is a mighty hero.

This can be where Jaune gets Stormbreaker, Star Steel with more enchantment focus than mecha shift, at the end of it. It can do short range teleportation, but the specifics have been lost. When the Champion goes on a bragging rant on his ‘natural superiority’, how ‘broken’ Storm is, Jaune’s ‘natural place on the bottom’, and on and on, Jaune quotes Vulkan when he fights Konrad Cruze ‘you’re forgetting something. It’s also a hammer.’ Uh oh.

Which leads me to a different trap for the Gang, which I’m sure you have some idea for: a puzzle dungeon. Mazes, logic puzzles, riddles, jumping puzzles, mysteries, reading comprehension, illusions, Where’s Waldo, parallel thinking, current events(how? And stick with Remnant current events!), or just plain nonsense(you need to give me the problems in English goddammit!). Wait, how do Pun Wars and Rap Battles count as mystery types of games? I remember reading one short where a Riddle Gargoyle was bypassed by just smashing the Gargoyle. The gang’s strengths of combat and magic are useless here, so they have to navigate a dungeon using only their wits. Low INT/WIS Jaune is going to have a hell of a time. This can be where Hei and Gramps’ harping on Jaune to get smarter start to sink in. After all “a society that separates its scholars from its warriors will have its thinking done by cowards and fighting done by fools.” And everyone else who wants to cheese the puzzles is shut down by the puzzle and mystery lovers of the group. Dang it Weiss, Blake, and Neptune! We’re trying to get this going here! The Great Sphinx, Tzeencth, Magnus, Herma Mora, or whoever, can pity Jaune because ‘he’s just a brute’. Laugh it up until it’s time for the strategy games! Great spot for Weiss and Neptune to get into some mild flirting. And if there’s some knowledge inspired prizes at the end, they could wonder why Jaune is here. He already has the magic history book after all. Or they can see this as being greedy like so many others. Elder Scrolls Black Books, AC Valhalla Books of Knowledge, and more are very sought after for good reason. This could be where Jaune breaks into magic for his Paladin points, or the Elves can be the ones who help him with that.

As much as I like the City Building Genre, growing from a couple of huts into a thriving city, I don’t see that happening with this story. Perhaps on a lesser scale throughout their travels, like how Luffy uplifts and gains allies across the islands he’s visited. Or somehow in Vale.

Do we have a Magic Wish maguffin planned somewhere? Or how about a Loot Goblin even worse than Jaune? I had a thought for those, but can’t remember if someone else had something.

As I was playing Assassins Creed Valhalla I had a thought. Eivor drinks an elixir and goes on a dream quest as Odin, well the whole franchise is essentially you going into someone else’s mind, could we do something similar here? Like the Elves have a concoction that allows people to ‘visit the past through your ancestors eyes’. (Blood or spiritual ancestors, makes no difference) It’s not often used since you need a strong spirit in order to ‘wake up’ on the other side. The Maidens are exempt from this since the magic flowing through them disrupts the potion. Jaune can use these to visit the past and learn from his ancestors. Pick up on a few secrets, maybe even rediscover a lost fighting style.

Saw a video of Kratos vs Tyr and thought that would be a great opportunity to give Jaune some lessons in combat from the High Elves. The girls are all getting magic lessons from the foremost masters of magic, so one of their best warriors takes Jaune to the sparring ring to help train him. They both can go all out since the magic circle surrounding the ring ensures that none of the damage is permanent. Having your head still attached when it really should’ve been cut off would be such a weird feeling. So that’s what it feels like to have a burning spear shoved through your gut. Yes his chest is still in one piece and he can breathe no problem, but he felt every bone break and his lungs collapse from that hammer strike. Now I feel bad for Darth Vader getting electrocuted by Palpatine, magic lightning barbecues you from the inside out. The Ring can also change its environmental effects for more varied training. Jaune can get a few good hits in, but he’s regularly rag dolled by his Elf mentor. We know you’re being nice and helpful about the lessons Mr Elf, but ragdolling your student that hard and consistently is rather demoralizing for everyone. Not to mention the lingering question if the blood liberally decorating the ring is real or not.

If we give Jaune an upgraded axe, then how about Kratos’ Viking axe? The Xiong axe is fine and all but it’s only regular steel, how much longer will that hold up? Their first clue that it’s enchanted is when it unexpectedly returns to him and very nearly takes his head off. If it weren’t for someone else tackling him, it would have killed him.

Guns, I wanna give Jaune some more non-enchanted gear, but the best I’m coming up with is stuff from the Division games. He’s going to need something more than a shotgun when he starts fighting more skilled humanoid enemies. Those are a massive step up from the mere thugs he used to fight. Things like lasguns, lightsabers, and that are probably more of an Atlas Iron Squad thing. Thought of a gauntlet that allows him to change his Aura into grenade variants like in Destiny, but that’s on the enchanted side. The rolling grenades, portable turret guns, sticky grenades, and so on, that seems a little bit more realistic for Jaune than the full Iron Man suits that the Ace Ops have. Or am I just being dumb? And did we decide if the Iron Squad is going to be more IronMan, Halo, or Anthem styled? Or some other mecha suit variant that I’m not thinking of?

Jaune can only carry so much gear on his person before it becomes a hinderance. So what if one of the first magic spells he learns is a form of Magic Locker or Erza Scarlets Equip magic? Just something where he can keep all sorts of extra gear that he can’t carry. Further his one man army shtick. The video game protagonists carry an impossible amount of gear. The Crocea shield is great for personal defense, but not so much for others. A tower shield is even better if it can spread a defensive barrier, however they’re pretty big and difficult to carry not to mention unwieldy in a fight where agility is king. But the shield can be useful if he’s stopping a Godzilla type energy blast. Sure the Maidens can just carry Jaune away if there’s a such a blast coming their way, or they could just make a magic defense bubble, but they probably won’t think of either option on the spot if they even notice he’s in the blast zone. Or if they did then they couldn’t get there in time or Jaune is protecting others. And when none of the Maidens are nearby with a wave of lesser Grimm charging him, it’s no problem when he pulls out a SAW or a LMG.

Or depending on how we make Neptune, as either the nerdy artificer or the reluctant wizard with a ridiculous hat, he could get the Mary Poppins bag to carry all their extra gear and supplies. Make constant jokes about him being the baggage boy with his granny bag. ‘It’s not a granny bag! It’s a magical nanny bag!’ Now I’m laughing at Neptune floating down from a cliff using Mary Poppins umbrella with his granny bag and a fat hat on him, fuming at how uncool how looks the whole way down. And if he’s the artificer type then his homemade jetpack fails him at the bottom ten feet and he falls flat on his face, giving him a very uncool landing.

Seeing the sheer variety and volume of women’s wardrobes gave me this idea: the Maidens can alter their magic clothes. They had their getup changed during their WF investigation in V2. (I would’ve liked to see more variety, but I understand there’s animation and budget challenges preventing that) Also laughing at the image of some magic disruption device changing their ‘combat clothes’ into something absolutely not combat worthy, like swimsuits, maid outfits, pop star costumes, business suits, bunny suits, and more! I can totally see that being a Neo prank. And if it is, then everything is of a sexy variety. Even Jaune is stunned for a moment thinking ‘is this a fetish or something’. You really can’t blame him if his eyes linger for a while either. Yang is trying to play it off, but Jaune can tell she’s just as embarrassed as the others. Blake, stop getting off in this we don’t need you to awaken some exhibitionist fetish. And that’s without talking about how their poor magic control is made even wonkier. ‘Why am I casting fog? Where is my lightning? I’m trying to make a privacy ward but all I’m getting are fart noises!’ Maybe the identity protection charm wavers a little too? Not enough to give away their identity, but enough to allow certain details to peek through. You’d need Velvet level detail observation/obsession to put together enough clues to determine who they are, and dense/overworked Jaune isn’t going to pick those clues up. Or even bother to put the pieces together if he does catch those details.

The POD is a funny concept. As much as I like Zwei, he’s probably staying on Patch. Zwei was there for a lot of Briar Storms fighting time so he’s an old boy who deserves retirement. Unless Summer dumps him on Ruby for some support. Like how much of a twist the dog Doug from Up was, P.O.D.’s abilities could be similar. Perhaps a running gag as well. The gang learn to watch their words so they don’t accidentally have POD give himself away.

If we don’t want Frank the Pug as a guide, then how about a Mirmir equivalent? I could say the elf from Firen, but I haven’t seen it yet to say for sure. She seems funny and cute enough from the clips and memes, but I don’t know anything else. Having a Half Elf guide who’s giddy about being around more of her human half.

I couldn't find the old thread, and it was getting pretty long, so I made a new one.

So, what should Jaune do with his money? He's got capital from the Xiongs, but it's dirty money, how would he use it? Anonymous donation? Investing in local business? Help start a local militia?

Also, now that he's gotten his +3 platemail and a ring of luck (Which is just a bonus to AC), what should be his next gear that he should get that would be appropriate?

Also, what would you'll think about Jaune finding a dwarf smith to maintain his gear? He's probably save one and it's owes him a life-debt. It'd be a fun contrast if the girls got elf servants somehow.
