I'm telling y'all, Mirai Days' beginning is a BANGER 1-2 punch. Episode 1 was such a fantastic introduction!!

Episode 2 was also WILD, too. The plot that is being set up is really fascinating, and I wanna see more NOW-

ok so there WAS info revealed about blue kid. her name is Hisui. i would have known this but i dont go on twitter anymore so i only saw that there was a bio just now. green cure fans are dancing in the streets knowing theres gonna be a new one soon. as for the REAL goal here, miraiko being real, hisui existing is a good sign for sure, but we probably won't get any confirmation until the 7th at the earliest. also the subbed trailer shows that dog guy wants to destroy time or something. i dont pretend to understand but sure i guess

Interested in the new character Hisui. She looks young enough that she could easily fall into the annoying/cutesy child role, but in magical girl shows girls like this have the potential to grow into magical girls themselves, so I'm hopeful. Her eyes suggest that she's some kind of fairy at least.

Been waiting for Ha-chan to show up for like, three weeks and the first thing she does when she reappears is to jumpscare us with no face 😅

That said, while this episode did a good job of portraying young adults coming to realize what it was like for their parents/guardians to raise and care for them, it didn’t really reveal anything new or give us any helpful new clues about the plot.

But it did confirm that Ire is counting on Hisui’s growth to achieve his goal as well as suggested some ideas of what might be going on with our missing Ha-chan and Hisui.

Alright, this is gonna be a bit of a mini-long recap so~ bear with me.

In the first season, Ha-chan only appeared after Mirai and Riko formed a connection with each other. And in the finale, she only appeared after Mirai and Riko reunited first.

Ha-chan’s growth also accelerated every time the Linkle Stones were used, which usually coincided with the deepening of Mirai and Riko’s friendship as well as their growing bond with Ha-chan.

So that just proves Mirai and Riko (and Mofurun) are the most important factors when it comes to reawakening Mother Rapapa’s powers.

Mother Rapapa split the world into two separate ones (Magic World and Mundane World) during her fight to seal Deusmast away. Her hope was that one day, both worlds would come together again so she entrusted the Linkle Stones, the fragments of her powers, to Precure for that very purpose (and to finish Deusmast off for good, yeayeayea).

Ha-chan is Mother Rapapa’s reincarnation and therefore, the inheritor of not only her powers but also her will. As the rift that formed between the two worlds decreased and Mirai and Riko (representing those two worlds) grew closer, Ha-chan became stronger. Strong enough that by the end, she was able to fully accept her destiny as the next Mother Rapapa.

Something similar is occuring now with Hisui.

Hisui was entrusted into Mirai and Riko’s care just like Ha-chan was after they found Ha-chan in that library.

Though their respective relationships with Ha-chan and Hisui are quite different, it’s obvious that Mirai and Riko want to protect Hisui just as much as they wanted to protect Ha-chan when they were younger. Regardless of the reason (that Hisui and Ha-chan are alike, that it’s their responsibility as adults to look after kids, etc), they just have to protect Hisui no matter what.

Hisui’s relationship with Mirai and Riko isn’t as deep as Ha-chan’s but it’s undeniable that she’s come to rely on them and has grown attached as a result. So when the Cures were in trouble, Hisui’s reaction wasn’t to run away to safety as they told her to but to stand in between them and the enemy.

That desire to protect Mirai and Riko was what finally allowed her to connect with Ha-chan.

Because for Ha-chan, Mirai and Riko are the most important people in the world (they’re her precious mommies 🥹).

If Hisui thought the same as Ha-chan did (of wanting to protect someone they held dear), those feelings will resonate with one another and therefore, allow Hisui (who is probably a part of Ha-chan that has been broken off) to finally be able to use magic. Ha-chan’s magic. Mother Rapapa’s powers.

…well, for that critical moment anyway because the magic shut off and she went back to Muggle status aftrward.

But yea, I believe that’s what they’re implying with the Ha-chan situation here.

For some reason, Ha-chan can’t be by Mirai and Riko’s side at the moment so she may be trying to establish a channel to them through Hisui. Or at least trying to ask Hisui to look after them in her place.

There’s a lot to be said about the expression she shows in this shot, too.

Normally, Ha-chan is a very happy and cheerful child in her civilian form and her mature side only shows when she’s Cure Felice or in giant goddess form. However, in front of Hisui (who is wide-eyed and clueless, the face a child would have), Ha-chan looks very calm and serene. Even her eyes show a much wiser side I don’t think we’ve seen before…not to this extent yet, anyway.

And that might be an effect of the bunshin split? Ha-chan ending up with more maturity in her while the more selfish, childish aspect of her got concentrated in Hisui?

It’s also possible that Ha-chan might know everything already but is just waiting for the right moment to come back. She’s only interfering minimally so as not to mess with things too much that she can’t come back 😨

…yea.

Well, whatever the case, it’s a relief to know that she’s out there somewhere and will be reunited with Mirai and Riko eventually (nooo, reunite TODAY, dammit!! 😭)

The difference in height between her and Hisui further implies that Hisui will see more character development as the story progresses, too.
