I loved this book. It’s loosely based on the Hades and Persephone myth and our hero even has a garden designed after it. Reese can’t sleep after returning from war to take his place as earl after the death of his brother and a chance encounter with Sophie gives him peace and she seems to calm his inner demons. They come to a mutual arrangement that benefits them both. Sophie is betrothed to another and so they know their friendship must soon come to an end but as they grow closer they both dread the oncoming loss of being together. This story is so well written and I just loved all the little twists and turns and how things connected in the end. I love the Hades and Persephone myth so I really appreciated the tie-ins. There was an unexpected twist at the end that I really happy to see. If I could have asked for anything it would have been a bit more at the end to see how things wrapped up for Reese and Sophie. I’ve been super excited for this album release! I got up this morning to download my iTunes pre-order so I could listen to it while at work. So far, The Shadow Theory is an incredible album. If you love melodic, symphonic hard rock and metal then definitely check out @kamelotofficial! I’m also extra excited because I will FINALLY see them live for the first time in 11 days! 🤘🏻I listen to their music a lot when writing on both The Elements of Ilysia series (I actually mention Kamelot in the acknowledgments as one of the bands that helped keep the inspiration and words flowing for it) and The Passion of the Dragon Saga (which is co-written with @raynakingstonauthor). They’re on my main writing playlist and one of my favorites to listen to when writing on mine and Rayna Kingston’s Historical Fiction/Romance series about Vlad the Impaler and be Women He Loved aka The Passion of the Dragon Saga. Lovely story!! Our young widow is at the mercy of her father in-law as she desperately searches for a way for her and her young son to be free from his harsh clutches. Our hero has been travelling the globe establishing his business and earning his own way in the world. When they meet it’s like fireworks and the chemistry between the two is palpable. They both must work together to overcome their personal demons and free themselves to be together. I loved this story. It was well written and the main characters were witty, charming, strong, and determined.
