that’s what your initial thought was.

the joke’s on you because watching Isagi transform on the pitch—so intense, so commanding, so unapologetically feral—made you feel something.

IT AWAKENED SOMETHING INSIDE OF YOU.

You couldn’t look away from the way he dominated every play, his sharp eyes practically cutting through the field. His aggression. His dominance.

Now, standing by the locker room, you find yourself fidgeting nervously, cheeks flushed. The usual sight of your sweet, boyish boyfriend has a new edge to it, and it’s doing things to you.

When he finally comes out of the shower, he greets you with his signature smile. But there’s still an unmistakable intensity in his gaze.

“Hey,” he says, his voice soft and familiar. But when he steps closer, you instinctively take a step back, heat rushing to your face.

His smile falters slightly, and he tilts his head, confused. “What’s wrong? You’ve been acting weird since the game.”

You shake your head, eyes darting everywhere but his. “It’s nothing,” you manage to mumble, but your back presses against the cold granite wall behind you.

Isagi doesn’t buy it. In a smooth, unintentional display of dominance, he places a hand on the wall beside your head, leaning in. The closeness makes your breath hitch.

“Come on, tell me,” he urges, his voice slightly edged with concern, though the sheer presence he exudes has your knees weak. “Did something happen?”

“Y-Yoichi…” you stammer, and his frown deepens.

“What is it?”

You can’t take it anymore. Before he can say anything else, you grab him by the collar of hisshirt, pulling him closer. His eyes widen for a split second, but before he can think you’re aiming for his lips, you angle to his ear, your voice dropping to a whisper.

“Can you be like that…” Your breath is hot against his skin, and you feel him stiffen slightly in surprise. “Tonight, in bed… you egoist.”

His reaction is instant.

You pull back just enough to meet his gaze, and the playful confusion on his face is gone. His jaw tightens, and his dark blue eyes flash with something primal, his body leaning just a bit closer to yours.

“Are you sure about that?” he asks, his voice low and rougher than usual, the usual softness completely replaced. His lips hover close enough to yours that you feel the ghost of his breath.

Your lips part, but no words come out. You don’t need to answer. The way you look up at him, your cheeks flushed and your chest rising and falling rapidly, is enough.

And then, with a smirk that sends your heart racing, Isagi murmurs, “Careful what you wish for.”

he's so confused when he approaches you after he's freshened up, only to see you tiptoeing away every time he goes in for a hug. like, he's staring at you with furrowed eyebrows and asking you what's wrong, as if he wasn't shaming the opposing teams entire existence just a few minutes ago. you make the choice not to bring it up, but there's no way you're going to another game anytime soon.
