everyones been asking me this. everytime i tell someone new im into dialtown, they always question me about the same thing! without fail! and so here it is:

WHAT I THINK EACH CHARACTER WOULD ORDER AT THE CHEESECAKE FACTORY

now why are they at the cheesecake factory? BECAUSE: in the dialtown universe, as we know, texas roadhouses were ERADICATED off the face of the earth due to health violations, and where else is norm gonna go for his birthday?

(most) everyone gets a DESSERT, DRINK, and MEAL in their order

HE ORDERS: the pumpkin pecan cheesecake (he attempted to order the carrot cake, at the cheesecake factory, at got side eyed), whisky & ginger, and steak diane. claims his mama makes steak better BUT whatev he enjoys his meal in his own disgruntled way

MINGUS, on the other hand, is VIGILANT throughout. she forgot it was norms birthday (& of course would never admit this), and was the one to offer to take him out and pay for everyone. just as powerplay. she sits across from norm, on the edge of her seat just WAITING to call over the waiter for the check. she orders the miso salmon, a red sangria, and 30th anniversary chocolate cake

i hate this thing. it cant read the 9 pages of menu, obviously, so the narrator is thumbing through for it and as SOON as he mentions this "impossible burger", gingi immediately gets an idea in its head that itll break the system & give it money BACK. refuses to eat it in fear of "damaging the goods" and also gets a ... bowl of vanilla ice cream

karen orders: louisiana chicken pasta, a strawberry infused margarita, and fresh strawberry. it just makes sense to have your drink & dessert match! she doesnt eat all of her meal & spends most of it tossing little pasta bits at gingi to watch it snap at it. otherwise Normal Sensible Dinner

oliver on the contrary, orders based off name alone. Chicken Parmesan "Pizza Style", the Well-Mannered Dirty Martini, and Adam's Peanut Butter Cup Fudge Ripple. he has to squash his disappointment when the waiter comes around and hands him his dessert without calling it by its full title

randy ATTEMPTS to get a kids meal, feeling weird about the bill all being on mingus' tab & he isnt around her much, so how would he repay her? just COMPLETELY overthinking it. so he doesnt have a backup for when he doesnt pass as 12 & is told he cant order that. so he PANICS and lands on something random... the loaded mashed potato omelette. okay. same with the coconut cream. he orders NO drink - instead, he gets water, and the waiter passes over him & he gets NO refills. (he goes to the bathroom sink when thirsty)

i like to think jerry gets invited to norms birthday dinner! he orders the cuban sandwich (pickles & all!), espresso martini, and pineapple upside-down cheesecake. it just fits

More coffee shop stories please? I was also wondering if you had a coffee shop AU.

So the town I work in has this big steel factory and because of that we get guys from Germany who work here part of the year and then they go home, idk what the deal is with that. I think because they either make something for Germany or use steel from Germany. No idea But Germany is involved in some way, this much I know for certain.

I tell you that to tell you this. Throughout the year we get German people on rotation like some come in the summer and then the others come in the winter but it's the same ones every year. There's this one German guy who just started coming this winter, idk if he's new or if he's just never come in before. I never really liked him because I didn't know how to read him. Like the first day he came in HE ordered a Mocha with maple and Butter pecan and I made it for him and sat it down and he looks me dead in the face and said. "Um, you know this isn't coffee right?" And I said. "Oh yeah then what is it?" and he was like. "Hot Chocolate" and I was like "Ight, that's cool...6.19...." And ever since then he's come in every day and got a new overly sweet drink. We have non sweet drinks, and just like regular ass espresso. I can make you whatever you want...Like you need only ask. But for some reason he feels the need to order a sweet drink and patronize me for it as if I had anything to do with his decision making.

A couple weeks ago he came in and he was like "I'm going back to Germany for Christmas..." And I was caught by surprise because he normally doesn't talk and is just a little shitty about ordering the coffee he wants every day and being like "It's not coffee though..." It's like "THEN DON'T ORDER IT! Also go away and leave me alone, I'm busy, like always." So I was like. "Oh cool, that'll be nice." And he was quiet and he was like. "I didn't like you at first..." And I was super irritated by that because like... rude? And also who asked, you don't have to like me I make your coffee that I think you hate and that's the extent of our relationship we don't even know each others names. So verbalizing you didn't like me seemed unnecessary. So I was caught off guard because he never talks to me and then when he decides to that's the bull shit he decides to say. and I was like. "Yeah.... I still don't like you." Which isn't exactly true because I don't know him enough to form an actual opinion on him and i also just felt like being a bitch because you know two can play that game. Idk if he was trying to get me to drop my American customer service attitude with him but once I did that he talked to me every day like about work and stuff, I wasn't listening ever but he seemed to like that I pretended to. Anyway...I think he's in love with me now <3 (he told me his name was Markus btw. I didn't even ask....)

You can write a story about that if you want lol. But no I don't have a coffee shop AU.

Scent Test

ASHDKJAH I was looking for something and realized I never posted my fic research of me going to Bath and Body Works and genuinely sniffing every candle they had out so: here are my notes w/ typos and all :) I sorted them roughly (bc on the spot) from Best to NO primarily thinking about what soleil would like but inevitably influenced by my own tastes

scents I found Strong got an * in front, no-gos got an x (increasing number of x's based just how much i was like ❌❌❌❌❌❌ on first impression)

findings: - soleil would like the mellow-er scents over the super strong ones which is fine bc cyrill wouldn't have brought any of those anyway - would go Bonkers over the ones that smell like fresh laundry or the others' creamers or other little day-by-day surrounding scents. - he also likes bake-y and fruit-y scents. and lavender!! i don't really like lavender so it was surprising the first time i sniffed one and brain was like :00000000 he would go for it, and then by the end I was like HE WOULD GO FOR IT - meanwhile he dislikes floral-y or perfume-y scents and strong woods-y or cologne-y scents as they would be triggers for him - and then ofc, the names and scents of candles i wind up using in fic :)

this was. a four page document btw so be aware when you hit read more. at the end of this fic research I personally walked away with a hot cocoa and sugared lemon zest candle btw ^^ i'm ngl the hot cocoa was 80% bc it reminded me of ness

- the linen and lavender is v mellow but he would LOVE this. It's got like a subtle spiciness and reminds him of dryer sheets

-The bubbly rose is surprisingly sweet, and v mellow. Smells fruitier than champagne toast I think it's the cranberry

But the champagne toast is even More mellow

-the hot cocoa and cream smells good :) the Choco is v up in ur face but not overpowering

-*Merry Cookie

-*Spiced gingerbread smells like merry cookie but w/more spice lol

-*sugared lemon zest is v strong and v sweet and zesty

-*limoncello is somehow More strong and just as good, much more straight up Sugar Candy (Soleil would prefer the sugar zest)

-* the sundrenched linen smells v laundry-y, I think Soleil would like the smell but it's also v strong 

-*Spiced citrus Grove is really strong but it's really nice, I think it would subconsciously remind Soleil of both Cyrill and athena

-crunchy English toffee smells like toffee :) v sweet and not Strong but getting there

-Cinnamon caramel swirl

-straeberry pound cake smells v sweets and if U really inhale u can smell like, a super ripe strawberry that's sat and gotten super juicy, oops Soleil would like that a lot

-peach belline really peach sweet w a hint of zest (the sweet orange ig)

-the white pumpkin smells spicy but has a nice warm tone to it, probs the caramel

-Winter candy apple v sweet and mellow

-the champagne apple and honey is lightly sweet and mellow

-the raspberry mimosa is v sweet

-same w/ midnight blue citrus w/ the mango, v nice and mellow

-the lavender vanilla is v underwhelming so I think Soleil might like it, esp bc like lavender and soothing qualities or so he's heard

-raspberry thumbprint is v There if u know what ur looking for, has a good mix of the two but it's kinda weird bc they're So mixed? Idk

-vanilla bean

-punpkin pecan waffles has a warm effect to it (probs the maple syrup but otherwise is too difficult to parse)

-vanulla bean noel isn't v strong (the lotion is stronger)

The after scent on it is v warm likecaraml scents

-*Crushed candy smells more like candy than the twisted peppermint

-peppermint sugar cookie has a??? Kind of mellow scent to it? Like smth from bath time? It might be the creamy butter??

-tis the season has a v appley kind of scent that mixes well with the spice and it's quite mellow (Soleil would like this one a lot)

-straeberry snowflakes faintly sweet and faintly like, creamy ig (w/ the whipped cream)

-the cinnamon spiced vanilla is not as good as merry cookie but it's not bad (not as in ur face)

-wildberry ube is fruity and sweet but it has a lingering after scent

-laundry day straight up smells like a laundromat Including the like, heat of them but Soleil would Not be familiar with that and would prefer linen and lavender

-iced winter balsam smells v lemony (eucalyptus)at first but then the pine and balsam come in except they kind of linger after that

-winter pear forest smells brightly of pears w/ some woodsy undertones. If u like. Inhale really hard the pear picks up

-cocoa roasted chestnuts is v acceptable but I can't tell what it is lol?

-cedar and suede is v underwhelming so acceptable

-holiday just smells really spicy, so does cinnamon stick

-frosted coconut snowball is nice but hard to parse

-sugared pomegranate smells nice but it's afterscent is kinda :/

-balsam and bergamot inoffensive 

-luminous and a thousand wishes kinda hm. Not enough to like not enough to dislike

-*bright Christmas morning is v fruity sweet and would be nice if it wasn't so strong

-pistachio toasted vanilla has that v nutty lingering scent

-frosted cranberry has an undertone that's kinda strong and not v fruity

-palo Santo and sage is mostly underwhelming but has a lingering scent

-x Birchwood orchard

-x vanilla Birchwood and idek what it's trying to smell like

-The sugared snickerdoodle smells more like wax than anything else? Maybe i got a dud

-Golden Berry Mistletoe is v hard to parse, but it smells like it would be in a bathroom

-christmas cider just smells like Spicy?

-*So does the sweet cinnamon pumpking but that one's super overwhelming

-*eucalyptus mint bc too strong (also idt Soleil likes mint), I think eucalyptus spearmint is like the same thing but either way. Same vibes. Also the second didn't mix as well??

-Frozen lake smells too much like Irish spring

-winter smells spicy and woodsy

-xxFlannel smells too much like cologne

-Hot pink cocoa really does smell like ruby chocolate but it's also erring towards too strong

- the caramel frappuchino smells Exactly as advertised, Soleil would love this bc it reminds him of mornings

-i did not like cozy cashmere at first bc it's kinda perfumey but then caught the lavender and vanilla which Soleil would like, even w/ the sandalwood bc the sw is not Too strong

- bordering on dislike the afternoon rainfall is way too sweet for what it advertised, I think it's the aloe which I always get in my bubble tea lol

FIRST BLOG….

So, this is my first blog and I’m somewhat nervous! I’ve been researching how to write blogs and I see its just us bloggers talking to you readers!

My first blog is going to be about LOOOOOOVE…exciting right? Well maybe for us ladies not so much for the men *go figure* but you all are still welcomed to read and hopefully gain something from it. This blog will be more of a story than your typical blog. So, here it goes!!!!!!

LOVE IS REAL….

In case you all didn’t know, love is real. How do I know? Because I thought I was in love at one point in my life but once I finally let go of what was and found what is, that is when I found out what I was dealing with wasn’t actually “love”. It was a situationship, it was desperateness, it was me being young and naïve. Here it was 2007 I was in middle school calling myself liking and “dating” this boy CC *rolls eyes* PSSHHH! Yeah RIGHT! Our “liking” lasted on and off for 7 years all the way to our semi-adult life, I’ll say I was probably 19 or 20 when it ended. Now during the mist of our little break-ups, I was still having my fun 😉. What I was dealing with—with CC was being his convenience. It was convenient for him to treat me the way he did, lying to me, cheating on me, playing with my emotions knowing I’d do anything for him. My mother saw it and knew it wasn’t right. But what did I do? I continued dealing with the kid, falling deeper and deeper for him. I was convenient when he needed a ride or was hungry and when we were older I was convenient when he wanted sex although he was out screwing and entertaining other females. The last time we split ways was the last time I wanted anything to do with him. We kept in contact and he tried to come back but I didn’t allow it because my attention, my eyes were on someone else all while dodging CC’s phone calls and messages. Lying to him the way he used to lie to me “oh I’m sorry I was sleep” “oh sorry I was doing homework” “oh I’m sorry I was in the library” although there was validity to my lies, I could’ve easily replied to his messages or answered his phone calls; I chose not to because I was over him, I didn’t want to be with him anymore.

 In 2014 when I was at Bethune-Cookman University on my way to class I saw this tall, hefty, handsome, good-looking guy, his skin was the color of butter pecan. This wasn’t my first time seeing the handsome man but the first time we’d ever made eye contact (this is the person who I said had my attention btw). His brown beautiful eyes met my eyes, never exchanging words or a smile I nodded my head to him (Miami way of saying wassup lol) and he nodded back. OMG! How I had butterflies and couldn’t do anything but smile once he passed. I asked a friend who he was, and she told me his name. So ironically *wink wink*, I found his Instagram and started following him, he followed me back and from there we were liking each other’s pictures back in forth. Still seeing each other on campus and still never saying anything to each other, just blank stares and lookbacks I felt as though we were communicating with our bodies and eyes 😉 he knew I wanted him and I knew he wanted me.

Here it was, fall time in Daytona Beach, Fl the leaves were falling, the sun was shining with clear blue skies during the day and by night fall the air was nice and crisp. I’ll never forget it was October 31st, 2014 and there was a Halloween costume party at a night club called Coliseum which was located on North Beach Street, but it’s now a game room, and guess who I see there? YES! The handsome guy 😊 once again we meet eyes and smiled at one another. As the night grew later, I was on the stage enjoying the vibe and having fun. I look afar, and I see Mr. Handsome walking in my direction, he FINALLY approaches me……yes, I was shy and yes, I acted as if I didn’t see him. So, once he approached me Mr. Handsome does the usual by introducing himself although I already knew his name I still let him talk. To this day I don’t know how we heard each other talking over the loud music that was blasting in our ears? It was like everything besides us was on pause because I don’t remember nothing at all that went on around us, I don’t even remember hearing the music at one point. We continued talking and exchanging numbers and I kid you all not after we were done talking Mr. Handsome asked if I was his “bae” and me being me I wanted him, so I said yeah, no sooner than me saying “yeah” this guy KISSED me dead on my lips…I damn near fell to my knees lmao. **Glad his breath didn’t stink** ‘cause then that’s when I would have had to leave him where he was at lol.

So, several days, weeks, and months go by I started falling for Mr. Handsome. I knew I started loving him when he asked me if I wanted food HAHA! But in all seriousness, I saw how he did for me without me even asking. I saw the realness in him. The generosity he shared with me I had never seen or witnessed in ANY of my past relationships or dealings. That is when I grew even more fond of him and actually started loving him, he didn’t know that until he asked me to be his girlfriend.

On February 17th, 2015 my entire world did a full 360 <3

The day Juan snatched my heart and put a lock on it. Since that moment, that day, Juan hasn’t showed me anything less of what love should be like or feel like. I never truly knew what being in love actually felt like until I met him, and I wouldn’t have never known if I didn’t let go of what was. Being in love is a natural high! You get high off the love your partner gives you, the laughs you all share, the lengthy late-night conversations, the energy and connection you all put into sex and the love you all make.
