I just really want to share my gacha experience and best luck ever and some of the worst cuz I'm addicted to gachas since 2017 and oh my god how many of those have I played.

Fgo bullies me almost all the time, but what years of playing it taught me is that if you honestly love your waifu/hasubando, they'll come, like Heroine X Alter or Sigurd or Lanling(4 copies in 10 tickets!! holy shit that man loves me!). I also occasionally get 5☆ one after another or in like 2-3 multis. Heroine X Alter is my only np2 SSR though. Foreigners and assasins love me. But riders and lancers... Where u at, homies?? No 5☆ of those at both jp and na, except for Europa that I picked for 5☆ ticket.

Then there's twst jp. Epel is my best man fr. When his dorm card was released I got 2nd Riddle and then the country boy himself straight after not even getting to 50 pulls. And when I aimed to get his groom card he also brought me Ace in first multis, ehehe. But when I was pulling for Epel's SSR in winter event he got me Jamil instead, also in first 10, I'm still mad. When Vargas camp was released I got Ruggie in first 10. My worst pulls in twst ever were in 1st Halloween event. I had to grind 25/8 for Vil and he only got home in 100 pulls. Last card literally. I'm happy that at least I didn't lose 50/50. Queen is mean :')

And then I also had some lucky genshin rolls that I didn't screen. My first 5☆ was Xiao and he came at around 75, soft pity. And then during first Zhongli banner, when I was rolling for Yanfei, I got Zhongli at 89 and Qiqi at 90. That was very spontaneous. No Yanfei still though. Then I lost soft pity to Jean, but I wanted her so it was fine. I got Raiden guaranteed thanks to that. And a few months ago I got Kokomi on soft pity! My artifacts luck is on next level. I guess I just must build crit Kokomi with these arts.

What got me into gachas was bungo stray dogs mayoi inu kaikitan. My first account was filled with SSRs and first UR that were released, but I lost it after 2 years of grinding. It still hurts. Then I got second one in jp and it's going great! No crazy multis or anything like that though. My best was 2 basic SSRs and no event SRs in one event multi. It's good but at the same time so damn disappointing. My na account has some good cards, but it's mainly Lucy SSR carrying me through all events and story. F for my first acc.

Then I also had Obey Me! phase. This game's gacha fucking sucks period. I lasted for about a year until I lost my account again. All this time the gacha was pure hell, devs didn't give much to pull. I had basic Mammon and Belphegor SSRs carry me, then I somehow got "something to tell you" Satan and maxed it out, it was my favourite card and I fucking lost my acc. This game's gacha and power scale system are so frustrating that I can't get myself to play the game again. I remember grinding a lot just to progress 3-5 levels and then grinding again. I love the story and the boys so much, but damn it's a tough love.

Then I got into bunaru when you could use ink to only get new writers. It's a pretty nice game with a pretty mean gacha. My dream combo were Nagai Kafuu and Shimazaki Touson, they got me 80% of my gold. No rainbows though. New system seems ehh, it can be frustrating.

And I'm also into Nikki games. Love Nikki is frustrating and when I just started playing it I was so confused about everything, there was just too much! Shining Nikki is great and its gacha system is fine, I love it when there's guaranteed. I get all URs in events thought and 50% of those are basic 2 sets. It took me 75 pulls to get full oceanic reverie set without 2nd reflection though and man that was infuriating. But overall I really love the game.

I also played Time Princess. Yes, dress up games are my guilty pleasure. Gacha? Quite nice. Story? Interesting. I love that they have female love interests for female mc, otomes need more of those!

And I also started playing Honkai Impact in September. This game is a masterpiece. I got HoH in my first multi! She carries me. Gacha was kind of strange for me at first but I understood it in a week. It can be frustrating and it takes time grinding, but you need just 1 good valkyrie from gacha and then you can get more from shop. Elysia is life, Elysia is love, breathe if you agree.

Then I tried Tower of Fantasy. I got 2 basic SSRs from gacha and 1 from release gift. In basic gacha I got the cube in 30 pulls and then the chakram in 30 pulls from limited banner. Gacha there has been kind enough to me but the grind it takes to get gacha currency.... And the game itself is fine, but it's rather repetitive and the story is kind of boring.

This is a lore question and a slightly specific one. Cater as a character and otherwise is super interesting to me but at the same time insanely confusing. While at first I thought he would end up having maybe slightly abusive family there's a possibility that's not the case. His sister's seem to enjoy dolling him up and his mother seems to go along with it and his father's a bit more absent. I think I would mainly like to know what his true self is truly reflecting and also if Trey seems to know about this 'true version'. Don't feel pressured to anwser this if you can't btw ❣️

Cater fans come get yall’s food.

S, iideally I’d go through events Cater’s prominent in (Beans Day, Halloween), but that would just make this whole post longer. So I’ll be using Cater’s card stories for now. What we know about Cater, on the surface level, is that he comes across as happy-go-lucky, energetic, social, trendy, superficial, flaky, and insensitive at times. But that’s Cater on a surface level.

So for Cater, his major issues from his background are:

his family frequently moving to accommodate his father’s occupation as a banker

his sisters dragging him into their own interests that he was expected to accommodate as well

Cater repeatedly states he disliked getting dragged around by his sisters and having cutesy stuff he wasn’t genuinely interested in shoved into his face. This would even happen on his birthday, where his sisters got him things they’re more likely to enjoy, which made Cater feel frustrated since he was supposed to be the focus on his own birthday. But despite that annoyance, Cater understands his sisters didn’t really mean any harm. From the sounds of it, they liked hanging out with Cater, and assumed that Cater enjoyed how they spent time together as well since Cater preferred to go with the flow, rather than rock the boat.

In his Bday SSR, Cater mentions that his sisters became more considerate of his own interests and asked him what he wanted. All three coming from a family where they move and lose close friends a lot, the sisters are probably close and want to stay close to their brother as well, since they’re the only consistent company in a similar age range. His sisters are each other’s best friends, Cater didn’t have that growing up. He also mentions his sisters and mother’s sweets-making kick, and how he eventually got over having sweets every day. But when he protested, it’d disappoint and sadden them/they’d have dejected looks on their faces, which Cater didn’t know how to handle, so he made himself go along with their whims to keep them happy.

This pours into his social media life, where he’s a peppy, cheery guy that posts upbeat content and responds with light, casual, carefree messages to people. His Lab SR literally has him state that he ‘should always be happy and excited, after all’. So, clearly, whatever dynamic the Diamond family has, while not what I’d call something as heavy as abuse, isn’t considerate of Cater’s feelings and views Cater’s ‘go with the flow’ ways as approval. If he ‘breaks character’ of the devil-may-care person he is on the surface, it raises questions, and Cater would rather just avoid all that and enjoy himself instead of getting involved in anything heavy.

Again, Cater doesn’t like to rock the boat. He also mentions in his Lab SR that this obsession with cutesy stuff became rather invasive, and he’d even be criticised or second-guessed if he didn’t go along with the idea. Cater ends up accommodating that interest to prevent any debate, even if he didn’t actually care for them. That said, with such an emphasis on aesthetics being the way he grew up, Cater has a good understanding and practical knowledge of decour and eye-catching designs, which makes him helpful and invaluable when the time calls for decour. This is something Cater knows he’s good at, and enjoys showing off since the focus is on himself and he’s acknowledged for his skills.

With their family moving all the time, Caters gained and lost friends a lot. Cater has an outgoing personality, at this point, it’s safe to assume he’s an extrovert, so making friends comes naturally to him. But when you’re moving a lot, maybe sometimes in the middle of a school term, . Cater needs engagement and social interaction, but at this point in his life, he’s tired of trying to keep up with old and new friends on deep levels, hence his interest and obsession with social media.

One thing to note about Cater: he likes cutting corners. a lot.

In his R card “Portrait of Rosalia”, it’s understood that Cater being nice to Rosalia by throwing her a party with some lively students around is a way for him to get on her good side, because Rosalia overhears the teachers’ discussions of tests and future lessons so that he wouldn’t have to study for an upcoming history test: while Cater’s idea of a party to lift Rosalia’s spirits is in good nature, he wants something out of it that benefits him. But while disappointed the plan didn’t work, he’s quick to brush it off, and Rosalia’s anger, by mentioning that she’s cuter when uptight anyway.

In his PE card “This betrayer!” Cater only have five laps left to do in PE. But he hates how sweaty he is and how tedious the overall task is. So he uses his UM to try and avoid doing all five laps himself. Riddle catches him red-handed, and Cater tries - albeit I’m sure he knows it’s a lost cause - to flatter Riddle at the last minute. Trey’s also involved, and despite leaving Cater in the dust, Trey also returns with Riddle, because Trey knows that Cater’s the type that tries to cut corners whenever possible, something against the rules in Heartslabyul. Honestly, as far as Trey goes, Trey’s someone used to the way Riddle holds himself back. Cater’s exterior personality wouldn’t be hard for Trey to recognise as Cater pushing himself or exaggerating points of his personality just to keep up an image. especially after being in the same dorm for three years.

In short, while he isn’t malicious about majority of the time, Cater will use others to get out situations and tasks he wants no part of. This is a huge thing reflected in his UM, as it allows Cater to be in more than one place, so that he personally doesn’t have to be involved. Growing up with two pushy older sisters, it makes he develops a UM that complements a need for escape when pure wit won’t work. And despite being someone with a superficial interest in trends, that experience accumulates in him understanding the basics about social media and how it affects others, himself included, since it became the only way he could stay in contact with acquaintances and ‘friends’ from previous years.

Cater has a good understanding of how people, in general, work, especially those in his agegroup, which makes him rather crafty when he wants to string others along and get out of a situation. This doesn’t make Cater a mean or conniving person, and in fact, he’s generally amicable and social. Cater lives by a pretty ‘live in the moment’ credo. He enjoys having fun and not getting overly serious about issues when he can help it. There are instances where he doesn’t care about the situation he’s in, or thinks it’s lame/boring, but he tries to make the most of it as something to post about on MagiCam later to engage in low-effort social interaction for a mental break.

Cater pretty much states this in his Halloween SSR:

“If I left there, they remained there. That’s why I’d rather have a casual and happy time with everyone instead of going steady. It’s like a circus troupe, you know, having fun hanging with people all over the world and then leaving. And that’s why MagiCam is the best. I suddenly got messages from acquaintances from the school I went to 3 years ago. Aren’t my casual and light relationships multiplying? It’s lovely! “

Social media helps him keep in contact with people on a low-effort level, so the risk of moving doesn’t damage his relationships online like it would physical friendships. As for family, Cater’s feelings towards his family are difficult, tricky ones he has problems with. He certainly doesn’t hate them, but their lifestyle, the moving and pushy personalities, don’t mesh well with Cater’s personality overall. When Lilia tries to relate to Cater’s experiences of fleeting relationships, Cater can’t help but dismiss Lilia’s empathy as surface-level, since, to CATER’S knowledge (it’s not like he knows Lilia’s old as shit), Lilia’s always lived in the VoT with his own family and friends, which hits a sore spot with Cater:

““Cater: ….Family…huh.

Flashback Lilia: I feel like I understand you. But it is just as Cater says, it might be the truth that you should not attach yourself too much to one person in particular.

Flashback ends Cater: (That was full of lies. For a guy who grew up in the same place and never had to deal with rebuilding relations over and over… He wouldn’t understand my worthless and meaningless feelings.)

Cater: Hello, Trey. What’s up? Huh? Are we doing our rehearsal for our night show at the stamp rally now? And is Deuce from my committee lacking in hands, so Ace is helping him out? Darn, Ace is definitely going to use this to ask me for a favor later!

Cater: Argh! And is Riddle on the verge of a rampage? I’ll be back soon, Trey, please calm him! It was such a pain getting involved in the biggest crisis of this Halloween week! No, for real! I’m not lying. That’s why you don’t have to say such cold things to me, kay? URGH, TREY, YOU’RE SO CRUEL!!

Cater: Now that Diasomnia’s turmoil has settled, it’s time to change the mood. No matter how you slice it, we’ll still separate if we become 4th years… It would be different if I repeated a year though. Anyway, I should just enjoy the memories I’m making “now”! I’ll surprise everyone with this charming skeleton costume! I’ll show them my serious side!”

Cater calls his own feelings ‘worthless and meaningless’, which likely ties into how he got dragged into his mother and sisters’ own interests over his own, and sometimes even criticised if he didn’t go with their flow. He also expects the friendships he’s made in NRC (as we see with him talking to Trey about the rest of the Heartslabyul cast), to inevitably disappear after he and Trey are fourth years with their own internships and lives to live. Because to Cater, the future of his life and relationships appear disruptive and inconsistent, so instead of fretting about them, he wants to live in the moment and enjoy what he’s doing at all times, hence why he cuts corners to make things easier on himself. This is why he can come across as superficial and easy to get along with, because he doesn’t want to fret over the details.

Summoning: Halloween is my home turf~♪ I’ll be looking forward to seeing your surprised face in the future. Groovy: Don’t look down on me. You never know— you might just end up spending the whole night sleepless, trembling in fear. Set Home: Roar~ How was that? I’m a dragon ghost. Home Idle 1: It is said that on Halloween night, the ghouls that served under the Witch of Thorns dance round a fire all night long. They’re party animals, surprisingly. Home Idle 2: I can remember the day I met a genuine Long from the East like it was yesterday. Their crimson scales were truly a sight to behold. Home Idle 3: Most sweets are delicious, but marshmallows aren’t my cup of tea. I can’t feel satisfied after eating them. Home Login: Trick or treat…… what? Have you already gotten used to my pranks? Then I’ll just have to prepare something extra special for you. Home Idle Groovy: If I were a real Long, I could give you a ride on my back. Shall I give you a piggyback ride instead? Home Tap 1: Ugh, the horns on this hat are heavy. And Malleus always has to deal with these on his head? Home Tap 2: My red nails are cute, right? I had Vil paint them. It seems these crimson nails are some kind of long lasting thing called “gel nail polish”. Home Tap 3: Silver and Sebek used to be such scaredy-cats way back when. The morning after Halloween, they’d do laundry all day without complaint. Home Tap 4: Have you seen Ace? The way he’s always eating Trey’s sweets makes them look so delicious, so I made some too. Home Tap 5: Whoops. Because of my height, the tail is a tripping hazard dragging on the ground. You should take care not to step on it either. Home Tap Groovy: ACHOO! …...Excuse me, the peacock feathers tickled my nose.

Personal Story I’ll Scare You to My Heart’s Content: Chapter 1

-Interior Hallway-

Ace: This is around where the Halloween Organization Committee was having their meeting, right? I was told to submit an application for using magic in our production, but…… Dorm Leader Riddle is super impatient, but if I wait a bit, Cater will come back to the dorm. Sebek: Silver!!! Don’t you dare fall asleep again!!!! Ace: Hm? That voice must be...... Of course it’s Sebek…… and Silver-senpai. What are you guys doing here? Sebek: Hm…… If it isn’t Ace. We’d like for Lord Lilia and the Young Master to review our decorations. So we’re waiting for the meeting to end. Ace: Wouldn’t be easier to just shoot them a text saying, “Let me know when the meeting is over.” You don’t have to wait right outside the door for the meeting to end. Sebek: You think that I could call those two on a smartphone!? There’s no way I’d do such a disrespectful thing!!!!! Ace: Okay, okay. I don’t know what’s so disrespectful about that, but I’ll wait for the meeting to end with you guys. All: ………………………… Silver: Zzzz...... Sebek: Silver! Don’t use me to prop yourself up while you fall asleep!!!! Silver: Ah! Sorry. Ace: Sebek, you’re way too loud. They’re having a meeting in there, so turn it down a notch. Sebek: Guh…… Of course, I wouldn’t want to get in the way of the Young Master’s work. Ace: Isn’t he falling asleep ‘cause we’re just standing around silently? How many times have you yelled at him instead of having a single engaging conversation? Sebek: Talk about something interesting, hm? Then, last night, the Young Master...... Though I don’t think they’re used any differently than jack o’ lanterns…… Ace: Wow, what else? Silver: Then…… When the moon rises high in the night sky, a scarecrow is burned in the castle’s town square, and people in costume dance around it. Ace: I see. So it’s like a midnight costume dance party. Sebek: It is not something as frivolous as some social event. It's a feast for ghosts where all the evil spirits in the land run rampant! …...I’m trembling just remembering Halloween ten years ago…... Ace: Yeah right~ You’re totally exaggerating. Sebek: I am not exaggerating!!!!!! You can only say that because you haven’t seen it for yourself!!!! Silver: He’s right…… What Sebek says is true. Halloween in the Valley of Thorns......is truly terrifying…... Ace: Huh? Even Silver-senpai is agreeing……

Lilia: Sebek, Silver. Sorry to keep you waiting. I voice hear your voice from all the way inside. Malleus: It’s fine if you wait, but be a bit quieter while there’s a meeting in session. Sebek: My...... My apologies...... Cater: What’s this? Ace is here too. What’s up? Ace: I brought the documents Dorm Leader Riddle told us to submit. Here they are. But I had some free time while I was waiting, so we got to talking about Halloween in the Valley of Thorns...... Sebek got all heated and said, “There’s nothing more terrifying!” Cater: Wow, I didn’t think Halloween in the Valley of Thorns was so scary. It’s said that life in the Valley of Thorns is centered around magic…… Do you also use magic to decorate? Malleus: Yes. Most of our decorations use magic. As for scariness, it depends on the person. Lilia: So about Halloween in the Valley of Thorns…… Well, where should I begin? Malleus: As Diamond stated earlier, life in the Valley of Thorns revolves around magic for the most part. Lilia: That’s right. So, the light from decorative Halloween lanterns aren’t from LEDs, but from fire magic. The lanterns are also made from carved wood, not pumpkins. Many of them are carved to resemble the ancestors of the followers of the night, like dragons and bats. Sebek: On the actual day of Halloween a lighting ceremony is held wherein the Young Master lights all the lanterns in the country with magic. The sight of the Young Master lighting those noble green flames can only be described as awe-inspiring. Ace: He uses fire magic to light all the lanterns in the entire country!? Cater: Is Malleus’s magical strength seriously that crazy!? Malleus: The Valley of Thorns is a small country that has less territory and fewer people than the Rose Kingdom. It’s not a particularly notable feat. Lilia: I remember the day the Queen first asked Malleus to light the lanterns. Malleus: ! Lilia! Don’t tell them that story……! Lilia: It was a catastrophe— Malleus was so enthusiastic he made a mistake in the amount of force he was using, and burned all the lanterns in the entire country. Houses and fields were set ablaze, and the whole nation worked together until morning to extinguish the fire. Malleus: ....... Lilia: The incident was engraved into the history of the Land of Thorns as “The Halloween Fire.” Sebek: I can’t believe it……! What a wonderful event to make the populace recognize the Young Master’s power! Ace: No matter how you look at it, isn’t burning peoples’ houses down no laughing matter……? Cater: As expected of Malleus. Even as a kid, he’s been on a completely different level. I couldn’t imagine him dressed up in a ghost costume, going around to all the neighbors, asking for candy with a, “Trick or Treat”~ Malleus: You’re right, I certainly haven’t ever done that. Though in the first place, the tradition of distributing sweets on Halloween does not exist in the Land of Thorns. Cater: Whaaaat, no way! Ace: In the Rose Kingdom, that’s the main event. Lilia: It’s true. The first time I learned of the custom of handing out candy was when I traveled to other countries. It’s a good tradition. Innocent children happy to receive candy are so cute. That’s why I wanted to let Silver enjoy it…… However, we lived far away from any other people. As a replacement for him being unable to go around a neighborhood to visit houses, I was the only one Silver could ask for candy. Silver: And I knocked on your door endlessly until my bucket was full. Ace: Wow, Silver-senpai and Lilia-senpai were neighbors. Silver: Neighbors, huh…… Well, you’re not wrong. Lilia: Silver asking for sweets over and over again was so adorable! No matter how many times he did it, he’d always laugh so happily. Malleus: We never did that, did we? Lilia: Why, do you want to do it too, Malleus? How about we do it this year? Malleus: Lilia, just how old do you think I am? Lilia: Age doesn’t matter as long as you’re having fun. Sebek: If you wish it, Young Master, I shall give you sweets as many times as you desire! Malleus: I’m saying I’m not going to do it. I’m no longer a child. Sebek: My…… My apologies. I’ve overstepped my position. Lilia: Kufufu. The part of Malleus that thinks like that is still a child, no? Ace: By the way, you said that Halloween in the Valley of Thorns is super scary, but none of this is scary at all. Silver: The scary part is what happens with the scarecrow in the castle’s town square…… Malleus: In the Valley of Thorns, it’s customary to burn a scarecrow in the middle of the castle’s town square at midnight on Halloween. And people in ghost costumes dance around the fire until morning…… Ace: Oh yeah, that’s the midnight dance party that you mentioned earlier. Sebek: That’s right…… And what’s truly terrifying is Lilia, dancing around the burning scarecrow, illuminated by flames!! Silver: Halloween ten years ago was especially horrifying…… An ominous dance you would never in a million years imagine could come from our usual Lillia-senpai…… Malleus: Ah…… Remembering that day makes even me feel like my entire body is freezing over. Lilia: What’s with you guys? In my youthful impetuousness, I just cut loose a little bit. Ace: Lilia-senpai’s dance…… But he doesn’t look scary at all. Sebek: You can only say that because you haven’t seen it for yourself!!!!! Malleus: His uncanny wriggling body was like a venomous snake, and just hearing his hoarse laughing voice felt like you were being cursed. Silver: His shadow stretched long across the cobblestones in the square looked like a giant demon that kidnaps children. Sebek: Both children and adults alike were terrified of his appearance and with a single glance returned home, trembling, and waited for the nightmare to end. Silver: Some of the children who witnessed Lilia-senpai had recurring bed-wetting issues. Ace: No way, you guys are totally trying to pull a fast one on us! Cater: Ahaha, even Malleus and the others got in on Lilia’s joke, and are playing along surprisingly well~☆ Though I think it’s true that the husky shouting he uses sometimes in Casual Music Club is a bit scary. Malleus, Silver, Sebek: (Lord) Lilia(-senpai) is nothing like this when he’s serious!!! Ace & Cater: Whaaaat? Lilia: Kufufu. Now I’m in the position to spread loveliness as Diasomnia’s cute mascot, however…… In the Valley of Thorns, I was feared as the, “General of Terror.” If you like, I can show you a scary face right now…… But I think it’s better to keep it as a fun treat for Halloween day proper. Ace: Should you really be saying that? Our expectations are gonna be sky-high. Cater: I’m looking forward to seeing it on that day, Lilia♪ Lilia: Kufufu…… Then your wish is my command, and I’ll scare you to my heart’s content. I’m very much looking forward to Halloween day.

*If it wasn’t apparent from the personal story, in this line Lilia implies that he’d scare Silver and Sebek so bad they’d do their chores without complaint the next day and/or were so shell shocked they’d just obediently do laundry and/or would wet the bed the night before

SL Switch Up Challenge (Camus)

...Except I changed up some things: the “add at least one of his cards to your teams” was ignored for the most part and I picked my least favourite character (Camus, if you haven’t read the title) instead of the one that I have the lowest bond with because it seemed more fitting with the spirit of the challenge! Original ruleset can be found here!

I actually did this a while ago but I didn’t have time to post it because I was busy with uni and then decided to go for T3 UK Reiji. Maybe it’s for the best though, my perspective changed a little with time.

Day 1

First thing I’ve noticed are his heart links. I love how they progress, you can tell which one is the level 1 and which one is the level 3 or at least I think that’s the order they should be in, I’ve been avoiding Camus since I saw his Bond 50 lines. It’s how I wish heart links were the first place... well, maybe not to this extent but you know, something like an obvious fact for the first one and as it progresses you learn more less-known stuff that’s not that easy to notice.

I picked this heart links because even though I knew he had this sort of dynamic with Ran, I didn’t expect him to say it so openly. Maybe it’s a sign that he grew closer to the player and starts to admit what he truly thinks of the others (considering that first line is said in his butler voice), maybe it’s the heart links progression I was talking about or maybe a little bit of both - I’m not sure.

Day 2

Yeah, I know, it’s the last heart link lines, I’m sorry. I have everyone x everyone heart links level 3 unlocked so I spend the day trying to see if all of them follow the same pattern as Ranmaru’s. There are two characters that he compliments in all of the heart links - Ai and... Natsuki.

Ai I understand, I figured this one out but Natsuki was a huge surprise to me, especially that last line. I didn’t expect him to even be able to stand Natsuki’s personality. I’m not sure when does he show that smartness but okay, I don’t know his character that well either...

The vision of him and Natsuki just chillin’ and drinking tea is pretty cute and calming. Welp, another rare pair to the collection I guess! ...Now I lowkey regret that Butler Natsuki event didn’t feature Camus as the SR tbh. Maybe we’ll get some tea party set with the two as the URs in the future?

Day 3

He’s ticklish?! A-anyway... Overall, his reactions when poked are surprisingly soft. Aaand the pictured ones are all said in his deep voice (well, I’m not sure about the laugh). There’s this I guess...:

...But he still doesn’t use that prideful, condescending tone. He’s almost tsudere-like tbh. Well, almost.

Day 4

That was the day I realized that even though I didn’t pick Camus based on the bond, I should still probably show it to prove I’m doing something. So, here’s my bond with him as of Day 4:

I started the challenge with him being on early Bond 65 too (or 7th based on the bond) but I unfortunately have no screenshots of that moment. Also yeah, I changed his costume and wallpaper because I’m not even sure how long he’s been left with it and I was getting tired of it. I guess he deserves better than the LtM outfit.

I should probably show the teams I use(d) too. It was after the event already but here are the event teams anyway:

I kept switching Prince Natsuki with Renarty for Seien no Brave Heart for higher score. I could have done so with Camus because they score the same so there’s something I guess? Also there’s no Shine team because my Dream used to be my Shine (UK Reiji saved it...at least for now) with two members swapped and I only played one Shine song - You’re My Life - because I needed more Shine gems for the weekly misson.

After unlocking everybody’s heart links level 3 I started farming Ai’s level 4 ones. Originally it was 3 Ren and 3 Syo cards but I added Camus. Honestly... I wasn’t really to try to follow the original rules.

I genuinely like the way Camus heart links work so he’s staying in there until I unlock that last heart link...which might turn out to be next year if KLab doesn’t slow down with the events. At the time of writing this their heart link is 1801 until rank up so not much progress but Syo and Ren need way less time so it should get faster once I finish theirs.

I don’t have many of lines from that day and I read all of the stories but the focusing on the teams gave me an idea. His cards.

He has some very gorgeous cards (two pictures below are taken from the wiki). I went for Mafia Camus just because I loved the theme. Idolized art still looks great after all this time too!:

I like his Halloween v2 so much that I tried scouting in his half to get him (no luck though) and unidolized is honestly one of my favourite cards in the game!:

...Welp, I think you can guess what kind of aesthetics I like.

Also...as silly as it is, I like singing karaoke (but with vocals left and it’s only at home so not really) with my sister and occasionally one of my friends and have color-coded lyrics for almost 40 songs atm. We all suck me the most but it’s fun and we don’t care. Anyways, the point was - out of 4 Utapri songs we have prepared the lyrics for (well, only I did...), somehow 2 of them feature Camus - Junketsunaru Ai -Aspiration- and NorthWind and SunShine.

Junketsunaru is super fun to sing and it’s my favourite Camus solo but I really like Zettai Reido Emotion as well!

One of my favourite songs overall - Trois - also features Camus. Non-Fiction is a banger too! ...I’m not gonna list songs with 4 and more people because this would take way too long so I’ll stop here.

And as a side note, I really love how this line sounds (sorry for no clip, it’s sort of breathy, something in between his regular and fake voice):

Day 5

I’m not sure if the first line is mistranslation or not but I’ve chosen to believe it’s not. This sort of lines are the reason why Camus wasn’t at the very bottom of my favourite list for a short period of time.

Serious characters that act seriously or at least casually about stuff that sounds absurd or at least unfitting for them is something I find funny. I’m not sure if there’s a name for this trope, boke doesn’t exactly fit but I’m guessing I like it because I like this sort of Manzai humour Gintama uses anyways.

This also makes me chuckle but I felt like it didn’t match first two enough to get paired with them:

Aaand while this one might not seem particularly funny, it reminded me of my headcanons I first had when going through the profiles while SL was downloading - that the “fabulous hair guy” was a chuuni (because I didn’t believe his description) that loves Kuroshitsuji and tries to act like Sebastian because he think it’s cool:

I still headcanon that he’s a Sebastian stan btw.

And while not from SL and not something new I’ve learned, I just had to put this in here because it turned so fun themed (gif taken from here):

Day 6

Time for Camus idle lines! I really tried looking for stuff he says in his natural voice but I couldn’t find anything better.

First one is very basic but I wanted to give an overview of Camus lines at Bond 65 so it had to do. Ai’s were better even as early on but I guess there’s not much to show when you have to fit in some of the butler persona lines and there’s less idle lines that the ones caused by tapping (I think?) so I’m probably being too impatient... I hope.

The last one is something that I could put as a standalone “line of the day” though. It’s so satisfying to make him swallow his pride and ask instead of demand! It’s a small step but it would be so fulfilling to teach him his place... Maybe that’s one of the reasons his fans like him - they feel like they could change somebody for the better. Or is it more like revealing his true, soft side?

I guess characters like this make the thing more “realistic” (can I even use this word while refering to Utapri and Camus? Probably not). But I feel like it’s not what they were going for, considering the way he acts towards the player.

Anyway, I used to think his lines would be more like: “How dare you ignore me, peasant?” and couldn’t get what are the reasons people like him other than them having a thing for jerks. Now I can see some more logical ones.

Day 7

Aka all the negative stuff I cut out from the other days and my final thoughts and the bond/heart links update.

And if you are fine with it, thank you even more! A lot of this is speculations based on what I see in SL and I know still don’t understand Camus so feel free to try to change my mind if you know more than I do!

But first of all, here’s how my bond and heart links looked as of Day 7:

Comparing Day 4 to Day 7, you can see that I was tapping him more than a couple times a day - he went up one whole level!

And about the current ones... I know Camus/Ai heart link barely moved but there was pretty much no downtime, my Bond/Link team is still the same! Most of the bond comes from being in my Star team.

Now that’s out of the way, here’s the line I mentioned Day 1, the very reason I Camus landed at the bottom of my list in the first place:

Yikes.

I already consider possessiveness a big flaw that they gave some characters because nobody’s perfect and some people are into that so it’s a win-win... but this is a whole another level (I’m not sure why out of all the words “can” is the one that’s capitalized though). It’s disturbing.

I do feel like there was a lot of potential in his character. They could give him some character development, make him show the side he shows to the player to the others too and I guarantee it would make him more popular.

I mean, my favourite is Ai. His attitude towards Syo and Natsuki in the early anime was pretty bad but he had changed, he even becomes friends with them and in the Denim stories it’s confirmed that they still hang out.

However... to me, even if Camus starts showing the same side he shows the player to the others, he will never make it higher than mid-tier of my list just because of this one line ...but I guess it still would be an improvement.

Also, I’ve heard that he’s no the only one that acts this way in the vn so if anyone could tell me the details that would be great... or not, depending on the boys but I’d still be grateful if you’d save me from liking someone like this!

Anyway, you could probably figure that out already but I find it awkward and uncomfortable how different he acts towards the player compared to how he acts towards the other idols, especially poor Cecil. Is there a legitimate reason he treats him this way?:

Other than simply “he dislikes him”, ofc. It’s a genuine question btw, if anyone knows more, especially from the VN, please tell me.

Don’t get me wrong, I really like the sort of rivalry between him and Ran but clearly it’s not how his relationship with Cecil works.

I might be reading too much into that but I feel like Cesshi seems aware of the side Camus shows to the player (which I didn’t catch first time I read the story tbh) and from the Camus side of the story I feel like he knows that he knows and yet, he still says this:

It’s just sad, really. Should I feel bad that he distanced himself from the others, is there any reason for that or is he making himself a victim to the player? ...Ugh, I know it’s not the case but it makes the most sense. Idk, is he too full of himself to notice? It doesn’t seem right, I mean... he called Natsuki smart... or smarter than he looks, at least.

Cecil is implied to know about his “true self” so I feel like he understands you to some extent. He’s trying to be nice to him, yet Camus refuses to acknowledge it... Here, despite the way he treats him, that poor baby still tries to (awkwardly) cheer him up:

I feel like his pride was hurt a little and Cecil did help him by saying that... but I don’t think I understand Camus enough so maybe not. Anyway, even though it was awkward, Cecil’s definitely being gentle here so I’m not sure why he can’t see that. Eh, I really don’t get this guy.

To quote best boy (who said this today as the 2nd bond boosting line so I had to put this btw):

And I doubt it’s just Cecil, it was probably implied by more people but it flew over my head because I didn’t know he’s so different when talking to the player.

Well, at least there's some improvement later in the story because he stops saying that kids like Cecil because he’s childish and instead rolls with the explanation Cecil gave him - it’s because Cecil has more experience with children.

I read those stories beforehand and it was why I was so surprised that he likes Natsuki - after all he acts the most childish and does what he wants. I’m not sure if there’s something important about Natsuki I’m missing don’t know or if talking to Alexander makes you smart in Camus eyes.

Okay, but back to his... triple-faceness, at this point? This is basically stuff I cut out of the Day 6 because I felt like it was getting too negative:

I don’t like how he’s only kinder to the player. If anything, it makes me wonder if he’s lying and picked just another mask good for geting what he wants. Ugh, I know it’s not the case again and you don’t need to convince me but with the character like this, I can’t really get rid of this feeling.

But I guess maybe it makes his fans feel truly special - characters like Otoya or Cecil are nice to everybody so the way they treat you in comparision to the others doesn’t have as much of an impact as it’s with Camus. Even Ran's softer side isn’t reserved only for the player. But ignoring how badly he treats the others just to feel special...it’s way too selfish for me but I get that some people find that attractive.

In conclusion, I didn’t have an accurate image of Camus personality before this challenge so I’m glad I did it. Now I understand that he’s way more complex, even if I don’t really get him. However I started seeing the reasons why some people might like him, so I feel like maybe I at least understood his fans better.

This challenge was pretty fun. I’m glad I learned something new, I might even do this again with Masato ...but probably without creating a post because I end up spending way too much time on it. I thought it’s gonna be way harder to pick the pictures (...though I made things easier for myself and started doing this by themes) or write anything about someone you don’t really like.

Even if I mainly focused on the negatives in the end, the things I said in the first 6 Day were important as well. He originally had his own separate “Nope” tier, now he’s in the bottom tier with Masato so it’s a bit of improvement? I still don’t like him (due to the stuff listed during Day 7 and more) but for different reasons and slightly less.

OCR-Week 3

This was started a while ago and I’ve been behind. I’m doing my best to play catch up.

OCR Week #3

Event: Spartan, Asheville

Miles driven: 823.7

Events: Saturday-Super, Sunday-Sprint

Approximate Distance: 13 miles

Third week Down and I have accomplished my first Spartan!

This week started off with leaving Brooklyn and slowly making my way to Asheville, North Carolina. I decided to stop along the way because I had more time and less distance to travel between cities. This was a welcome change from the push push push for the first couple weekends.

Leaving Brooklyn and the busy streets of NY behind I made my way initially out to Coney Island. We have a tradition in our family that we eat, what we call, Coney Island hot dogs, every Halloween. The magic in the Coney Island hot dogs and what makes them special is they have bean-less chili on them. It is a recipe that my grandpa got from a guy years ago from Coney Island. I figured I’d go out and see if any place could compete with this recipe. Sorry Coney Island, my Grandpa’s recipe kicks your ass. Basic chili on a hot dog has been done. If it doesn’t have enough worchester sauce in it to make your eyes and mouth water at the same time then don’t even bother. So I left Coney Island a little disappointed but figured I would carry on. It was getting to be later in the day and I wasn’t going to make the campground I wanted to in the day light. If I’m staying at a campground I like to make it during the day so I can see what I’m doing when I get there. Along my route was Atlantic City. I’d never been before and knowing what I studied in college (hotels and recreation), let’s just say I got a screaming good deal on a room. Not just any room, a suite! Which unfortunately since I’m on a budget could not use to its fullest extent. No, I didn’t do anything illegal that I know of. Just was nice to the desk guy and he hooked me up. I walked around, checked things out. Atlantic City is exactly what you think it would be. Casino’s, lot’s of food, carnival rides, and all the wondrous touristy things people love to buy, aka, CRAP. Think of it like Vegas thought he was hooking up with Lake Tahoe but actually ended up hooking up with Reno, Tahoe’s inbred sister. Put it on the ocean, and you have Atlantic City. I will give the hotel credit though. Great bed!

The next morning, I ventured further south to catch the Cape May ferry that takes you to Lewes, DE. Cape May is the furthest tip of Jersey and is a cute little coastal town. I also wanted to ride the ferry. It’s not every day I get a chance like that, and I also used it as a chance to catch up on some work. I had some time before the ferry left so I stopped to check out the beach and get some breakfast. The beach was great. Any chance I get to see the ocean and watch the waves I am a fan. I just stood there and soaked it in. It’s been a while since I’ve been able to do that. I will take full advantage every chance I get. On my way off the beach I met a teacher on her way to the beach. She was on summer break with a broken foot. Rachel, I hope your foot is healing and you can get back to running soon! After my visit, I went and got breakfast at a little local place called Dock Mike’s Pancake House. Yes, this place is good. For some reason, they couldn’t give me a single pancake with my order but could give me 6 large silver dollar cakes. I didn’t argue, just wanted a pancake with my omelet, and if I had to eat it in smaller form, so be it. Following breakfast, I made my way down curvy grass lined roads to the ferry. Paid my way on and enjoyed the air before moving inside to get some work done. The rest of the day was mostly driving. I made my way to DC by way of back roads and some highways. Very pretty country. I met up with Olwen, a member of Potomac Boat Club and my host for my time there.

I decided to spend at least a couple days in DC considering I’d never been before. As of right now I’d like to go back. The morning after I arrived I met up with Sam Stitt, a coach at PBC. He was nice enough to let me out on his launch so I could watch his practice. There is something about watching a rowing practice that lets gives you a different view on a city. Not only was the rowing fun to watch but I also got to see the city from the water. Not many people get to do that and it offers a great view. Especially as the sun comes up. Sam and I got some breakfast and some coffee following practice. It was good! Now if you know me you know I don’t normally drink coffee. I had a dirty chai which is far more caffeine that I take in in a month. Thank you Sam for giving me the energy to walk around what seemed like most of DC for the day and not even get phased. Looking back on my day I should’ve planned a little better. I got the National Mall and figured I’d see as much as I can. I should’ve have known that I wanted to see everything. I came out of the metro right next to the National Archives. The houses the Constitution, Bill of Rights, and the Declaration of Independence. Can’t take pictures while you’re in the building so just know that they are there, they are written on parchment, which is animal skin, and they are written perfectly. It also houses a ton of other stuff! I could’ve spent all day in just this building. But I pressed on and left this part of history behind. This is where my planning kind of went out the window. I should’ve looked more carefully at what I wanted to do and where I was going. If you know me then you know I like efficiency. I put in some extra miles that day. I went from the Archives to the Washington Monument, passed the reflecting pool, to Lincolns memorial, all the way back to the Air and Space Museum, and then over to the Capital Building. I spent time at each one taking pictures and checking things out but I spent the most time is the Air and Space Museum. By far some of the coolest things from history I’ve seen. The Wright Brothers flyer is in there along with so many other iconic air and space craft. I spent over two and half hours there just checking out history of flight. My pictures that I posted on Facebook don’t do it justice. To be there and absorb the time through flight. To see where it came from and what it is now is amazing. Following my time at the National Mall I decided to get dinner at a local spot. I felt mildly under dressed. But I didn’t pack a button up so my v-neck and flip flops would have to do. I had a good dinner at a mildly preppy DC restaurant. It was fun soaking up a different city.

The following day I learned that there was another Air and Space Museum. It’s about 40 minutes out of DC and was on my way so I decided to stop by. If you’ve seen Transformers 2 then you’ve seen this place. Walking in your view is directed right down onto the SR-71 Blackbird. Fastest plane on the planet. The info says 2,250 mph, give or take. I’m sure it can do more. When it was flown to DC from San Diego they said it took just over an hour! Crazy talk!! So after I drooled over the Blackbird I walked around and looked at everything before I made my way to the Space Shuttle Discovery. A few notable planes to mention; Piper Cub, the Concord, and the Enola Gay. The Enola Gay was a plane that was crazy to see. I just stood there in awe of it. It was truly a piece of history that changed the world. If you don’t know what it did for history, it was the plane that dropped the two atomic bombs known as Fat Man and Little Boy (I hope I’m getting all my names and history correct). Point being, it is there! It is a part of history and it’s there!! The interesting thing is I’m sure some people just walk by it like it’s another plane not knowing what it has done in its life. Food for thought. So after looking at a crazy amount of cool planes I checked out the space shuttle Discovery. From what I know they brought that pretty much straight to the museum following its last mission. A couple things I didn’t know about the shuttle. It’s not smooth. The tiles on the bottom are smooth, but the white part of the hull looks like its covered with tightly packed quilting. If you knew this, good for you. I did not. Another thing about the shuttle, IT’S HUGE! I figured it was on the larger side but movies and TV still don’t seem to put it into perspective. It was just cool to see. Makes you want to go back and become an astronaut. It’s not too late is it?! Surrounding the shuttle is a bunch of space memorabilia like capsules, rovers, and missiles. It’s pretty crazy to see both ends of the spectrum when it comes to flight. To see the first plane ever and then to see the space shuttle over two days is a mind rush. Also, just to see how everything progressed through time is just cool.

Following DC I pressed on toward Asheville. The next day I decided to travel through Shenandoah National Park and camp there. Nothing too crazy here. The park was pretty and I’m sure the views were really pretty in some places. The only issue I had was there was fog for most of my drive. I pulled some good pictures I think. I need to download them. I stopped at a quiet campground in the middle of the park and had a quiet night. Finally pulled out the tent and put it to good use. Of course I didn’t plan on waking up to rain. I never really like packing my tent in the rain. Since I don’t really have a chance to air it out it always smells great when I finally do. That’s beyond the point though. I didn’t get to make breakfast because of rain so I considered this morning a fasting morning. The way I’ve been looking at this whole trip is to go with the flow and to consider everything I do a training opportunity. Like walking around the National Mall to not getting food when I’d like. It’s all preparation for the Worlds Toughest Mudder in November.

Making it into Asheville that evening was fun. I was staying with friends from Austin who decided to run the Spartan Super on Saturday. We stayed in an Air BnB which at this point was pretty much spoiling me. Memory foam bed and a super clean shower! Hot damn! I like the bed in my truck but the rook of the truck and limited space is something to get used to. I also enjoyed seeing familiar faces. Even though I’ve been meeting new people and gaining new friendships, there’s something about seeing a friend that has known you longer than a week. We got dinner at a local Italian place right down the street and it was good! Don’t really eat a ton of pasta but following that whole 91/10 rule when it comes to diet I figured I’d survive the night. Since that was the case I also finished off Lauren’s meat balls. Can’t pass up good Italian. We all got good sleep and were off to the races in the morning.

This was my first Spartan. I thought I had signed up for the elite event. Turned out I didn’t, which actually was a good thing. I got to run with Lauren, really soak in the experience, and enjoy the race for what it is. I’m also going to take credit for helping her get a 5th place finish in her age category. You’re welcome! The Super was a good event! I had a good time. I also did a pretty decent wod the day before the event so my body was a bit tired. Bad on me, I know. Either way it was a different experience from a Tough Mudder as expected. Also, since it was a televised event all of the “good” obstacles were on the tail end of the race. I made it through most of them. A few of my new favorite enemies are obstacles like “Olympus” and “Twister”. I know if I was fresh and my hands were dry I would’ve been fine but that’s not what OCR is all about. Olympus is not made for tall people in general but I have an idea on how to attack it next time. Twister is the same. Of course, most of OCR isn’t made for tall people. Sure, we have our advantages on certain obstacles but there are plenty that shorter lighter athletes can dominate on. This is me just being jealous that the obstacle beat me that day. I made it through Saturdays Spartan Super with only 60 burpees. I was ok with it. I understand I’m not out to win. I am, however, out to be fit and have a good time while trying to raise money for a good cause. Saturday night was spent stretching and staying mellow. If I remember right, I cooked dinner for everyone. It was just what everyone needed. We also watched Moana, which if you haven’t seen is a good movie with The Rock voicing a main character. He sings! I like that guy.

Moving on to Sunday! Sunday was a sprint. Which I was signed up for the elite category. Surprisingly enough I wasn’t too tired, at least at the start. A Sprint is roughly 5 miles with about the same number of obstacles as the Super. All kinds of good times. Waiting at the start I placed myself about mid pack and decided that I would try and stay here. Since this again was my first time doing a Spartan, let alone an Elite Sprint I figured this was good placing for me. They let us loose and we were off. Throughout this entire trip it has been my goal to complete the course and not get injured. So far that has been proving to be a good strategy. Today when they let us go was no different. The only difference was my pace. It was a little (and I mean little) faster than normal. I took on every obstacle as it should have been done. Once again, I gained some enemies in the ways of obstacles. On the bucket carry my rocks settled which meant I had to do it again. NOT COOL. I still did it but I had another goal that day of not getting caught by any of the elite women. Well, doing a second bucket carry helps the elite women catch up. Whatever, I still pressed on and made my way through the course. Just like the day before, there were many of the obstacles at the tail end of the course. The organizers also ran the athletes through mud and water before we got to them. That means out hands were wet and muddy which does nothing for grip. I struggled with the same obstacles from the day before but I added one to the list of fails for the day. Just the ring rig. That upset me. Any other day I would’ve smoked it. Today wasn’t that day. Overall I had a 90 burpee day for the sprint. I completed the course with minimal errors and collected my medal. That’s always a good thing.

I was happy with my performance for my first Spartan event. Everything is a learning opportunity and this was definitely a great one! I spent the rest of the weekend plus an extra day with Lauren and her friend David. We explored what Asheville had to offer by ways of art galleries, coffee shops, antique malls, restaurants, and of course breweries. I have the card of one artist in particular that really hit a home run with me. Very bright and vibrant canvases with splashes of color that are not for the faint of heart. I will find the card and attach a link. You don’t have to like it but I do. One day I will own a piece of his art. Lauren and David had to get on the road and I had to press on to my next event after a day of galleries.

Next stop: Western New York!
