Supernatural 2.0: #3 That “…” Moment

[Back to the Foreword and # 1 Meet Kira and #2 The “Possessed”]

He was a friendly and funny lad whom Kira met at a local Strangerville bar after she collected all the simpletons for her guitar performance. Who’s “he”, you’d ask. “He” is Morgyn, as he introduced himself. The very next day this golden-haired & golden-eyed young man invited her for a coffee in Magnolia Blossom park. “Why not?” Kira thought. Yesterday she found him interesting. 

No weather small-talk, though, could gain as much of Kira’s attention as the shiny blue stone on Morgyn’s chest. His golden eyes narrowed in a mischievous smirk catching Kira’s stare. 

“Do you find this stone familiar, Kira?”

“Actually, I do! My mother gave it to me when I was 5. She said my real dad would’ve liked me to have it”

“Well, I do like you have it”

“…???”

“I’m your real dad, Kira”

Oh, that sweet “Luke, I’m your father” moment…

Kira always knew that her mom’s husband wasn’t her biological father. The only thing that her mom has ever told her about her real dad was that Kira “shouldn’t look for him”. “He would come to you if he ever finds it necessary”, mom used to say. 

Apparently, he did find it necessary. And here he was, looking barely 30 but being 378 years old - Morgyn, the great wizard of Glimmerbrook and the Sage of Untamed Magic. 

Wow. Now that explains everything, all her oddnesses that she struggled to understand and accept her whole 20-years-long life. 

Oh, that sweet “You’re a wizard, Harry” moment…

He took her to the Glimmerbrook Academy after their 5 o’clock coffee. 

According to Morgyn, only three Schools of Magic made it to the modern days: Untamed, Mischief and Practical. There used to be a fourth - Alchemy, but the Sage of this School died accidentally taking most of the secrets of this School with him to the grave. 

Some scraps of common-knowledge of Alchemy, though, one can still collect while diving into the “breathtaking depths” of the other three Schools.  

“Why did you come find me, dad?”

“I was wrong leaving you among humans. You have talents they would never understand”

“So I am no human, am I?”

“You are and you are not”

“A half-breed then…”

“Agh! Never say that awful word again! You are a treasure, Kira. And I will help you learn it. What would you like to start your journey into the Magic with?”

“Hmm… Alchemy?”

“That’s my girl”

Well-well. To be honest, Kira has always known she had a talent for cooking 🤣
