What it Would Be Like To Date Poseidon
Tumblr media
This one was a request. He’s not my cup of tea but also the guy I simp in Apoc isn’t anyone’s cup of tea either.
Character traits to start off with.
He’s cold and stoic. Poseidon is portrayed as emotionally distant and supremely arrogant, with very little regard for others, even fellow gods.
He is very authoritarian: He believes in absolute control and sees emotions and weakness as beneath him.
He is also prideful: He despises inferiority and disorder, viewing himself as a being above reproach or connection.
Based off these traits he is…
Emotionally unavailable: He wouldn’t open up easily, if at all. You’d likely feel isolated.
Controlling or dominant: He would expect loyalty and possibly obedience, not partnership…
High standards: He might judge harshly or expect perfection from his partner.
Protective (in a twisted way): If he did feel attachment, it might manifest as possessiveness rather than affection.
Rare vulnerability: If someone did break through, he might offer fierce, silent, loyalty, but that’s a very big “if.”
Fantasy vs Reality of this relationship
Fantasy appeal: For some of you guys that find him attractive and like his powerful, regal aura would give a “dark romance” or “tame the cold god” kind of way.
Reality: In truth, such a partner would likely be emotionally distant, hard to communicate with, and potentially dismissive of human emotion or vulnerability.
Verdict: Poseidon would be a difficult, emotionally distant, and potentially toxic partner. He’s not written as someone capable of—or interested in—human connection or romantic vulnerability.
Ya this guy is a red walking flag. But I ain’t done yet. Since this isn’t reality. Let’s go with fantasy route.
The Vibe: Cold Royalty
You wouldn’t be dating a “boyfriend”, you’d be dating a god who sees himself as above everyone, including you. Being close to him would feel like constantly walking a tightrope between reverence and fear.
He wouldn’t pursue you. You’d be chosen like a mortal curiosity, not an equal.
Affection would be subtle, or hidden entirely. No hugs, no pet names. Maybe a nod of approval… if you’re lucky.
He wouldn’t tolerate weakness. Cry in front of him? He’d probably walk away or look at you with disdain, unless some crack in his armor revealed he cared more than he admitted.
The perks
If you did earn his attention or affection, it would come with intense power and protection.
You’d never have to fear danger… no one would dare touch you.
He’d express care through action: shielding you, offering gifts, silence-breaking gestures.
If anyone insulted you, they might not live to repeat it.
The Struggles
You’d feel alone, even when you’re with him. He wouldn’t share his thoughts or emotions.
His pride could crush you. Disagreeing with him might be seen as disrespect.
You’d have to prove your worth constantly, because he only respects strength—physical, emotional, or intellectual.
If He Fell for You (Rare Scenario)
If somehow you got through to him…
His loyalty would be absolute, but not romantic in the human sense.
He might open up to you once—and it would be monumental, like watching an ocean break open after centuries of stillness.
His love would be intense, elemental, and terrifying—something ancient and possessive, not tender.
Now for the final conclusion
Dating Poseidon would feel more like a power struggle than a relationship.
But if you enjoy the “ice king melts for one person” trope and can handle the emotional drought until that happens, it could theoretically work.

Hello again! Could I get a scenario where the darling is super emotional and cries all the time. She's not particularly scared or trying to be manipulative, just cries really easily. I thought it'd be interesting to have Ash from black Butler, Kanike from Tokyo ghoul, Shiapouf from hunter x hunter, and any other emotional yandere who you think fits. Crybaby vs crybaby. Thanks!
I’m currently on a vacation so I had to keep this limited to only a few characters.

Crybaby vs. Crybaby
Ash Landers
Tumblr media
▫️Tears are droplets of innocence, at least the tears that you spill are. It is a sight that he would even consider beautiful if it wouldn’t be for the grief that is piercing the essence of his soul when he sees you spilling tears of purity. Initially Ash mistakes your tears as a sign of fear, a thought that tightens his heart with anxiety and self-hatred but he doesn’t wish to bother you with his problems and keeps the stress and anxiety to himself, leading to emotional meltdowns when he’s all by himself. He’s convinced he’s doing something wrong every time you start crying and that behavior is hard to shake off even when he eventually figures out that you are just a very sensitive person. The sensitivity of yours is only more of what makes you so pure and perfect in his eyes. It is your tendency to cry so easily though that leads Ash to cuddle you even more all to not overwhelm your fragile feelings and to keep all anxiety and stress away from you. He will worship tears of happiness and joy but he will damn everyone, including himself, if your tears are ever caused by sorrow.
Shaiapouf
Tumblr media
🎻His demeanor really depends on what stage of his obsession he is in already. If he’s still in his earlier stages where he overloads you with tons of expectations to be perfect Shaiapouf is going to be the main culprit for your tears. He may pretend to be nice but the disappointment due to your lack of self-control is written all over his face. He’s strict and his words are harsh, belittling you and even using his abilities on you to calm you and your tears down. If we’re talking about Shaiapouf after he has properly embraced his obsession things look quite a bit different. He’s using your sensitivity to manipulate you further into his arms, actively encouraging the overwhelmed meltdowns so that he can be the one to smother you and help you to calm down. He was born a servant, he needs to be needed by you and it just so happens that you need him too. That is at least what he tries to indoctrinate into your mind with attentive touches and sweet lies. What used to be a burden in his eyes has now turned into something precious and sweet which only gives him more reasons to isolate and protect you. After all the world outside would only overwhelm you.
Kaneki Ken
Tumblr media
🔲Kaneki is already very fidgety and nervous, frightened that his darling is simply going to despise him and view him as the monster he thinks he is deep down as well. So the first few weeks after the abduction aren’t pretty. He knows that you tend to cry easily, his heart always tightened and hurt when he stalked you but it is still so much worse when he is the cause of your tears, especially knowing that those aren’t happy tears. You may as well have poured acid over his skin and it would have hurt him less than watching you spilling tears because you are frightened of him. His stomach is churning and worms are feasting through his pained heart, his own vision blurry as he stutters out apologies, longing to reach out for you yet terrified that you would only flinch away from him and only break his bleeding heart more. It is this initial trauma that has him trembling whenever you cry long after you’ve gotten through the worst parts and your tears are no longer his fault. His presence is hovering over you as soon as Kaneki senses that you’re crying, terrified that something or someone upset you.
Fudo Akira
Tumblr media
👿Even after Akira’s transformation he has remained the crybaby boy he has been since his childhood. He’s highly sensitive and it is very likely that he may even start crying together with you when you start spilling tears first. At first he is a tad bit ashamed of it. In this new body of his he was hoping to be able to toughen up and to be your pillar of comfort yet his own tears get stained in his own tears the moment he sees you as he is just weeping with you, no matter whether you’re sad or very happy about something. Akira starts getting more comfortable the moment he realises that you actually seem to take comfort in the fact that even someone as intimidating and tough-looking as him has a very sensitive soul. So he just starts crying with you to comfort you and help you to regulate your emotions. If there is a negative reason behind your tears and it happens to be a person as well Akira may just pay them a visit later for some civilised talking but he prioritises you always first by comforting you before he weaponises his new strength and appearance. He hates it when your tears are those of grief and fear after all.

Say You Love Me Too
Oneshot
Featuring : Yoon Eun-seong x F!Reader.
Summary : He was crazy about you, but what he didn't knew was that you were equally infatuated with him.
The characters do not belong to me except the reader. This is an original plot idea do not steal or modify the scenario created down below.
Masterlist.
Tumblr media
Yoon Eun-seong’s obsession with you begins subtly, his intense eyes lingering on you longer than they should. At first, he uses his wealth and influence to orchestrate seemingly coincidental encounters—bumping into you at high-end boutiques, exclusive events, or even at your favorite café. Each meeting is marked by his charming demeanor and carefully chosen words that seem harmless yet cling to your mind.
One day, you find an intricately wrapped gift at your doorstep—a limited-edition necklace, far beyond anything you could afford, with a note written in his elegant handwriting:
"You deserve nothing but the best. Y.E.S."
The obsession deepens when he begins orchestrating ways to isolate you from others. You notice your friends receiving lucrative job offers abroad, your phone calls interrupted by anonymous interference, and your routine subtly altered. Eun-seong’s presence becomes inescapable—he's always nearby, whether it's sending flowers to your workplace or showing up at places you’ve mentioned in passing.
The turning point comes when he invites you to his penthouse, under the guise of discussing a potential business opportunity. The setting is breathtaking, with floor-to-ceiling windows offering a view of the city skyline, but his words send a chill down your spine.
“I’ve built an empire,” he says, his voice low and steady, “but it feels empty without you. Everything I’ve done, every step I’ve taken, has been for you.”
Despite your hesitation, his obsession only grows. He’s relentless in his pursuit, willing to manipulate the world around you to ensure you have no choice but to be near him. It’s a dangerous, intoxicating blend of affection and control, leaving you trapped in a game of his making, where every move leads you closer to him—or to a decision that could change your life forever.
Eun-seong freezes as you approach, the sound of your heels echoing in the quiet room, each step commanding his undivided attention. His usually composed demeanor falters when your delicate hands cup his cheeks, your touch soft but electrifying.
His eyes widen slightly, the intensity of his gaze locking onto yours. For a moment, he forgets how to breathe, caught off guard by the intimacy of your gesture.
“You…” you whisper, your voice trembling with a mix of emotions—curiosity, frustration, and perhaps a hint of understanding. “Why do you do all this for me?”
Eun-seong’s hands instinctively rise to cover yours, his fingers trembling as they hold onto you like you’re his lifeline. His lips part, but words escape him for a second, his mind scrambling to find the right response.
“Because I can’t stop,” he admits in a low, unsteady voice. “You’re all I think about. Every moment, every breath—it all revolves around you.”
You can feel the warmth of his cheeks beneath your palms, the vulnerability in his expression breaking through the layers of his cold, calculating persona. It’s the first time you’ve seen him like this—utterly bare, stripped of pretense.
“Tell me,” you say, leaning in just slightly, your eyes never leaving his. “What happens if I walk away?”
His grip tightens ever so slightly, a flicker of desperation crossing his face. “You won’t,” he says softly but firmly, as if willing it to be true. “Because I’ll give you no reason to.”
His words hang in the air, heavy with promise and obsession, leaving you standing at the precipice of a choice you’re not sure you’re ready to make.
Eun-seong's breath hitches as you suddenly cling to him, your arms wrapping tightly around his waist. His body stiffens for a moment, unprepared for the vulnerability in your touch, but then he melts into the embrace. His strong arms circle around you protectively, holding you close as if afraid you might slip away.
“I just…” Your voice trembles, muffled against his chest. “I want to be loved. Truly, completely.”
His hand slides up to cradle the back of your head, his fingers threading through your hair with surprising tenderness. You can feel the rapid beat of his heart against your cheek, proof that you’ve pierced through the polished façade he always wears.
“You are,” he whispers, his voice soft but filled with conviction. “You are loved. By me.”
He tilts his head down, resting his cheek against your hair. “I’ve never loved anyone like this. It consumes me, keeps me awake at night. You’re the only thing that matters.”
Tears threaten to spill from your eyes as you tighten your grip, burying your face in the warmth of his chest. In this moment, it doesn’t matter if his obsession is overwhelming or if his world is far too complicated. All you can feel is the fierce, unwavering devotion in the way he holds you, as if you’re the most precious thing in his universe.
“You’ll stay, won’t you?” he murmurs, his voice tinged with both hope and fear. “Tell me you’ll stay.”
And for now, wrapped in the intensity of his love, you can’t bring yourself to say anything else but, “I will.”
Eun-seong’s breath catches as you tilt your head back, your lovesick eyes locking onto his. There’s a wild, unrestrained intensity in your gaze, a fervor that sends a shiver through him. For a moment, he’s utterly transfixed, caught between awe and disbelief.
“You wanted me,” you whisper, your voice low and trembling with emotion. “And now you have me. Every part of me, Eun-seong. Even the parts that no one else dares to see.”
Your lips curve into a faint, almost unhinged smile as you step closer, pressing your body against his. Your hands slide from his cheeks to his chest, your fingers clutching the fabric of his suit like you’re afraid he might vanish.
“I don’t care if it’s obsession,” you continue, your voice rising slightly, filled with both desperation and determination. “I don’t care if it’s madness. As long as it’s you—only you—I’ll take it all. Because I love you, Eun-seong. I love you so much it drives me insane.”
His hands grip your waist, his hold firm but trembling, as though he’s overwhelmed by the force of your confession. There’s a flicker of something primal in his gaze, his usual calm exterior breaking under the sheer intensity of your words.
“You’re crazy,” he murmurs, but there’s no malice in his tone—only a dark, twisted admiration. “And maybe that’s why I can’t stop. Because you’re the only one who matches my madness.”
He leans down, his forehead pressing against yours, his lips hovering just inches away. “You belong to me now,” he whispers, his voice low and possessive. “And I’ll make sure nothing—no one—takes you away from me.”
The two of you stand there, lost in a whirlwind of mutual obsession, your love a dangerous, all-consuming fire that neither of you can—or want to—extinguish.

I rlly need a fic of viktor and jayce becoming like the power couple of piltover in like the hexgates years
(I knowwww it would be antithetical and reductive of arcane’s themes of isolation and structural oppression regarding viktor ikkk but I want it anyway)(but honestly I think it could be done well in regards to that anyway - think the cost of sacrificing your sense of self and identity in order to fit into a world that fundamentally opposes it, and then being rewarded for it, like I’m thinking about how in the show I think we get hints that viktor holds very true to the parts of him that were forged in the undercity in that he always brings up that the point of science should be to ‘change lives’ and ‘help people’ clearly thinking of his own upbringing and the people in Zaun, as well as how he seems completely detached from the wealthy piltover social scene unlike jayce, and while this is definitely in part due to classist prejudice, I also think Viktor actively shuns the elite and sees them as a source of people’s suffering. It’s also his willingness to hold true to his undercity character that I think makes piltovans avoid and disregard him.
So think if the inverse happened, if viktor caved to the pressures of piltovan social pressure and tried to actively change and hide aspects of himself that the upper class piltovans found distasteful. A bit like jayce in a sense where he’s paraded around and has to change himself to appeal to the council and investors. Like what happens when they both get to be the centre of all this attention and praise and pressure and gossip. If they’re treated like a celebrity couple and they’re both become transformed into symbols of innovation and progress that is simultaneously elevating and dehumanising. And the thing is Viktor would never truly ever feel like he succeeded in fitting in, because he would always be viewed a little bit differently due to his background (I wonder the kind of narratives that piltovans would impose on his story in this scenario if it would be sort of poverty porn esque, the underdog, or the ‘good zaunite’ following what I think arcane behind to explore in s2 with vi’s character) and his disability. But also because Viktor would always have to actively choose to play this part and play at social customs and culture that are not native to him and there would be this constant paranoia or imposter syndrome, where he worries that people can see right through him and are questioning the validity of his apparent acceptance into piltovan society
And also how this would splinter into their relationship and how jayce and viktor would have this joint pressure - would it be easier with them both carrying it, or would resentment of the respective roles they have to play seep into their relationship and interactions with each other? Would there be a fundamental misunderstanding on Jaycee’s part on what exactly it means for viktor to try and assimilate into piltovan society, a society that would be actively hostile to him otherwise?
Idk this started with me just wanting some fluff and it ended up spiralling into this lmao

"Close-Watching" of Episode 1
In preparation for the second season I decided to do a “close-watching” of the first season and noticed a few things in the first episode that I thought might be interesting (and that somehow ended up being mainly about how they use camera angles to convey the power struggles, hierarchy and dynamics between the characters idk).
First things first I need to talk about the intro (with the absolutely amazing title song “Hero” by Meego). The last sequence of the intro consists of three parts: First we get a shot from a medium distance of each Si-eun, Su-ho and Beom-seok standing in front of the blackboard, all of them alone. Then we get a shot from further away of Si-eun, Su-ho and Beom-seok together in the classroom during something of a “we put up a camera to capture a photo of us”-scenario. Finally it fades back to a shot of Si-eun standing in front of the blackboard alone. I absolutely love this because it just … foreshadows the whole show? Like yeah, at first the three are alone, doing their own thing, trying to get by on their own. Then they befriend each other, get together, fight together, are there for each other. And in the end? Si-eun is all alone again. And the intro tells us that. From the very beginning it tells us how all of this will end. Then there’s also the whole thing of them having this set-up that implies they're taking a video or more likely a photo. Maybe this means to hint at how this friend-group will only exist in photos and therefore in memory? That through the medium of photography they tried to consolidate or hold onto their connection? But, of course, a photograph is a photograph, and can only show what has already passed.
Then, right after the intro, we start with a shot, again, of Si-eun alone as he’s at school much earlier than everyone else. This is a great way of showing how disconnected he is from the other students and also highlights his dedication to school. His isolation is then further stressed by the other scenes of him walking alone, sitting alone at a table or by the audience hearing the scribbling of a pen and the facts he memorized. It’s as if we’re watching from Si-eun’s perspective and are just as immersed into learning as he is so that everything around him just fades into the background. I also love the time lapse that shows him being almost perfectly still in the classroom while other people move around and interact with each other. It’s the perfect character introduction and makes his priorities and the “limits” of his current world or reality quite clear.
I also find the following scene very telling in which Si-eun and Yeong-bin get awards in the math competition. Si-eun gets the gold prize, but barely reacts to it just like the other students in the class. With Yeong-bin however who “merely” gets the bronze prize, everyone turns to him, applauds him, smiles at him and celebrates his success. Not only does this show that Si-eun is disconnected from the rest of the class, his lack of reaction in contrast to Yeong-bin’s happiness also shows that despite this being everything to Si-eun, succeeding doesn’t seem to be something that he celebrates, it’s just something that’s … to be expected? That’s the norm for him? Success is not connected to joy for him here at all. And that in itself is so sad: his whole life revolves around being good at school even though it doesn’t even make him happy.
What's really interesting to me in the next scene, when Si-eun and Yeong-bin go head to head for the first time, is how Yeong-bin throws a shoe at Si-eun. Just before that another student got bullied the same way, by having a shoe thrown at him. This shows how Yeong-bin views Si-eun the same way as the other person who got bullied and how he expected a similar outcome. Then, during the conversation between Si-eun and Yeong-bin, the camera changes from Si-eun who is sitting to Yeong-bin who is standing - but! While we would expect to get a high-angle view of Si-eun and a low-angle one of Yeong-bin, the camera just stays even on both of them. This foreshadows that, despite Yeong-bin’s assumption, Si-eun is not willing to place himself “below” Yeong-bin in the social hierarchy of the class and "look up" to him. Si-eun instead at least views himself at the same “level” or refuses to partake in the whole hierarchy-thing. Yeong-bin then sits down when he realizes that Si-eun is not just taking Yeong-bin’s attempt at bullying. He sits down and therefore recognizes that the demonstration of his position won’t be this easy with Si-eun. He now quite literally tries to talk to Si-eun at eye level. It’s so good, because right away we can see that Yeong-bin is forced to change to a position that kinda respects Si-eun.
Then we get that little interaction between Si-eun and Su-ho of “Hey, my pencil case“ and here we get some more camera angles: Si-eun is sitting, so we look down on him as if looking from Su-ho’s perspective and Su-ho is standing, so we look up to him. We also, unsurprisingly, get Si-eun being very annoyed and cold with Su-ho here and all combined, I’d say that this implies that, while Si-eun doesn’t really respect Yeong-bin as shown through the clues above, he does actually respect Su-ho in a sense as he literally “looks up” to him here, kinda recognizing him as someone powerful or respectable. And then, Su-ho picks up Si-eun’s pencil-case and apologizes while leaning down to get on his eye level. But for Si-eun, the camera keeps us at a perspective of looking up to Su-ho. So while Su-ho tries to get friendly with Si-eun by “lowering his position”, Si-eun just seems to see a threat in Su-ho here. It might as well foreshadow Si-eun looking up to Su-ho in a figurative sense? In any case Su-ho is framed as different from Yeong-bin through the camera angles.
Then, in the locker-scene, when Si-eun asks Yeong-bin to stop bothering him, the camera stays even on them even though Yeong-bin is sitting and Si-eun is standing now. It’s like a representation of their power struggle. Even when Si-eun is pushed against the wall, the camera is barely tilted upwards to the bullies from Si-eun’s perspective, probably because they obviously have the upper hand at that moment but that doesn’t change the fact that Si-eun won’t budge from his overall “position” in the hierarchy.
Later, in the scene of Su-ho coming by Si-eun’s apartment for the first time, we get Su-ho sitting on the ground and the camera seems to look up to Si-eun from Su-ho’s perspective which mirrors how their roles were reversed during their first encounter. During the rest of their conversation at the door and in the doorway, the camera stays on eye level. I’d interpret this as Si-eun beginning to understand that Su-ho is not a threat to him, but an equal.
Now when we look at Beom-seok’s introduction, there’s also some interesting camera angles: When he gets approached by Yeong-bin and the other bullies, the camera is clearly looking up to Yeong-bin from Beom-seok’s perspective and looking down at Beom-seok from Yeong-bin’s perspective - but only once Yeong-bin mentions Beom-seok’s bullies from the other school and Beom-seok tries to act as if he doesn’t know them. It’s like Beom-seok hoping for things to be different at the new school and then being thrown right back to the power dynamics. Also later, when Yeong-bin asks Beom-seok to sit next to him when he confronts him about being friends with Beom-seok’s bullies, I feel like this is to give Beom-seok a feeling of control or safety. Yeong-bin is acting as if they’re on the same “level” by having them both sit down while actually planning on using Beom-seok for his plan against Si-eun.
One quick thing that isn’t me being obsessed with camera angles: I love the detail of Si-eun’s anger over the test being caused by the first answer he got wrong. I mean he got drugged and was still able to complete the test somehow, then sits down to listen to the correct answers. He circles all the ones he got right until he pauses and quite reluctantly marks the number 15 as false. And I just love that it’s not something like him going through all of the answers, then realizing how many mistakes he made due to Beom-seok interfering and then becoming angry because it was a bad score or one that wasn’t good enough or not acceptable for him. He got angry because this score wasn’t perfect and that was enough. The literal second he realizes that he had made a single mistake, paying attention and following the answers being read aloud becomes meaningless to him. It very nicely characterizes him because we see his utter or even obsessive devotion and perfectionism when it comes to being exceptional at school. A single mistake due to others and that's too much of an attack for him to accept.
My last ramble on camera angles: Right before Si-eun “crosses the line” with Yeong-bin by attempting to go for his head even though Yeong-bin is already down, we get to look up at Si-eun, maybe from Yeong-bin’s perspective. This is after the camera stayed at eye level with both of them. It’s as if this crossing of the line would have cemented Si-eun’s position above Yeong-bin had Su-ho not interfered. And then we get eye level camera angles on Si-eun and Su-ho when they stand in front of each other. I feel like while the camera shows us that they’re equals, Si-eun is still in his mind about having to make sure that he’s in a position above others, in this case above Su-ho, which is why he feels the need to attack him.

I paused re-reading for two reasons (though I think I’ll go back to it now). One is more logistical which is that I’m rereading in Spanish to practice but Two is the real reason. Orv hurts my heart.
I keep thinking about how tragic kdj is.
I’d love to hug him and tell him it’s okay to receive love but I can’t. And even if I could I know it wouldn’t reach him. He’s a character who’s only ever felt love through sacrifice and only ever experienced value through what he could do for others. The way he latches onto yjh is indicative of his struggle with self punishment.
He can’t help but love and hate and root for this bastard protagonist who keeps dragging himself through more and more cycles. Although yjh didn’t choose that life himself (that he or kdj knows of for the majority of the story, obviously we find out about regression 0 but that’s neither here nor there) yjh puts his all into completing the scenarios. His twisted world view and just trying and trying and trying again and again.
Kdj talks about how yjh is giving up on timelines when he regresses and he’s not wrong but I also think it’s important to note that yjh could’ve succumbed to depression way more often. He could’ve only done the basics of the scenarios and lived in the outskirts like a lot of the side characters we only see briefly. (Especially after that combo event with Japan where it was voluntary) But that’s not in his nature and that’s why he’s so appealing to kdj.
Someone trying so desperately and failing and trying again just trying to survive. Just like kdj. Gritting his teeth through school and shitty jobs and crap superiors. That’s who kdj looks up to, resents, idolizes, and ultimately was raised by. So it hurts when I know kdj doesn’t know any better. He’s only had fucking awful examples at how to receive love. To be thanked. To be cared for. To be pampered. To be worried over. To be so damn treasured that others are willing to burn everything down just to see your stupid blurry smile once more.
Yjh and kdj are foils in the most obvious and excruciatingly painful ways. But yjh turns to look at kdj. To really look at him and changes. He sees this impenetrable wall and fights to get through. Rough and brash and without tact because how else would someone like yjh do it? Even when there’s a crack kdj covers it up with another layer. Layers upon layers that kdj doesn’t even let us see through. Why must he go through all this isolation and pain? Because he chose it. Because he knows no different. And it makes me cry because as much as I understand and sympathize I can’t bring myself to accept it.

speak on sadist arcade gannon 🗣️
I WILL SPEAK THANK YOU!
arcade is such a fun character. i’m going to start off with a little bit of how i view him, and then go into more of the original post!
arcade is often written as he portrays himself, asocial and boring. or worse, he’s made to be this anxious, unsure, annoying gay-man stereotype.
but arcade is smart, he’s witty, he enjoys snarky banter and cursing in latin. at the end of the day, arcade needs someone who can keep up with him. someone who can get those gears turning in his brain. arcade values knowledge like no other.
there’s always something to be learned, even with a low int. courier. (my original post was a joke about this, he’s a sadist and following around an idiot in a post apocalyptic wasteland would definitely scratch that itch.)
however, no source of intimacy in his day to day life turned into learning as much as he can. he enjoys books on topics that are redundant to the world he lives in, because it makes him feel important.
being a person of medicine, he knows his way around sharp objects, he’s used to cutting clothes, he’s able to perform basic first aid. (…more on this in a minute.) arcade knows his way around the human body.
arcade was an only child, raised around enclave remnants can only offer so much. and while he hates to use the word lonely (“alone and lonely are two very different things, thank you.” he’d say.) he is clearly starved.
for attention and touch, on a level that means something more to him. i think one of arcade’s strongest points is his friendship with julie, there’s no doubt in my mind he loves her, that he values their bond. but she can’t offer what he’s looking for in this regard, and that’s okay.
arcade craves connection. he deflects anytime the subject is himself, because to him there’s safety in isolation. he’s met “several good men” in his life, but none of them stuck around. for how much he craves that connection, he doesn’t know how to do it. showing versus telling. arcade is honeyed words, but faraway in his actions. until six.
and it’s not that he wants to hurt, or own his partner, no. arcade hates the idea that someone could “belong” to him, HOWEVER; the idea of consuming someone is… special. arcade wants his and his partner’s heart on a silver platter so they can dine together.
i’m going to go through two different scenarios, but each have their own flavour of dialogue.
"I've got more experience dealing with egregious injuries than you think. I could fucking rip you apart, and put you back together again. I could even make that hurt, if you wanted. Do you understand me?"
in this excerpt, as composed as arcade is, he’s frantic. perhaps six is a self sacrificing idiot, consistently putting himself in harms way because he wants to protect his friends, arcade specifically. to arcade, he might as well be doing the damage himself. six gets cut pushing arcade out of the way? arcade can feel the knife in his hand. in this version, i picture arcade’s sadism is more emotionally charged/based.
"I've got more experience dealing with iniquitous injuries than you think. I could rip you apart, and put you back together again. I could make it all hurt. Do you understand me?"
this is the same idea, but a completely different tone. this time he’s offering, most likely based on an observation he’s already made of six’s self sacrificing behaviour. six wants a brush of death? arcade can offer that without a (serious) risk.
the change from ‘egregious’ to ‘iniquitous’ tells that the injuries go from generally bad to morally wrong. both are things he’s adept in. medicine or sadism.
all this being said, some fun ideas to consider. (nsfw!)
i want an arcade gannon who will cut through six’s last pair of pants without any remorse, maybe even a low chuckle.
featherlight touches with a scalpel or the carving knife he uses for cacti. dragging it down their tummy, down to their thighs.
an arcade who has a mean backhand, who then takes six’s chin in his hand and gives his head a shake like he’s a bad puppy.
an arcade who has six sit in his lap for hours as he works, laughs when they cry about wanting more.
arcade who will bite, arcade who scratches his partner’s hips.
arcade who lets six sit under his desk, pressing his foot to six’s cock as they suck him off.

how do you think jason and dick respectively would react and behave if bruce died? say all that you can on the topic if tou don’t mind!
(you haven’t been very active these past few days. i hope you’re happy and doing well <3)
i wish i knew when this was sent! i'm so sorry for not responding sooner but i hope you are doing well too 🩵
a lot of this really depends on both how bruce dies and when bruce dies and thematically what you want to get out of it. post-new 52 canon has done a terrible job of allowing any characters to move past a designated emotional status quo so dick and jason (as well as other members of the franchise) are defined by static character traits more than they are by any kind of individual growth. you can't recreate a knightfall type of event anymore because continuity is no longer linear and consequences are no longer important as they are inevitably rewritten every few years via a multiverse event
all of that said. i think the best prediction of anything that comes to mind is one where dick absolutely crashes out and jason takes it surprisingly well. because dick's narrative progression up through as far as i bothered to read of dc / batman continuity (early early 00s) and with a somewhat apathetic view of nightwing in mind put him and bruce in this odd position of like. deep mutual respect and longing but also significantly insurmountable communication issues. and i do kind of like keeping them there like obv it should improve over time but there will always be one primary obstacle to any semblance of complete closure between them and that is bruce. because his fear of holding dick back and losing him that way outweighs his fear of losing him any other way (emotionally. not physically. obv his fear of losing any robin to death outweighs anything period). so to me the dick crash-out should be the worst because it will stem from the most unresolved situation of any of those existent between bruce and his children and as many complaints as dick will have had of bruce over the years ultimately he loved him more than anything and the thought of maybe not living up to the expectations he made up for himself in his head and then subsequently imposed on bruce will make him pretty deeply depressed and maybe even caustic because no one will understand. and he will finally have to confront the various ways in which he's isolated himself emotionally and how it's untenable moving forward
i say jason will take it surprisingly well not to promote my own bias or anything but moreso because i think writers and fans like to keep jason in this stasis where he cannot exist outside of bruce / the batman when realistically he knew bruce for three years. three very important years and obv the post-resurrection obsession and intense desire to understand and be able to grieve himself properly was extreme but like it has to be resolved at some point. and the more jason tries to resolve things within himself and interrogate his worldview and gain a better understanding of who exactly it is that he needs to serve if not arbitrary citizens of gotham harmed by the freakazoid of the week the more likely it needs to become that bruce's inevitable death is acceptable to him. like obv he will be sad but i think it is imperative that he no longer embodies the whole "if he killed you i would have searched to the ends of the earth for him" or whatever the line was shtick. i'm not saying jason can't be angry but he has to like.. understand that an eye for an eye is not a way to move through life. and i mean personally i want bruce to die in the most completely normal set of circumstances anyway like maybe he gets crushed under a building or arbitrarily shot or something nothing magnanimous but simply so inconsequential as to remind everyone around him of his utter humanity. so i don't even think intense anger would be in the cards for jason in this scenario like at worst he would probably be bewildered and uncomfortable but not postal

Okay but now you kinda got me shipping Ao Bing/Yue
It’s SUCH a good parallel to RinRin and Shanzha- while RinRin had already done most of the legwork to escape death herself, Shanzha helped pull her back to the living world.
With Ao Bing, how could he not fall in love with the noble queen who not only haggled with the underworld, who helped restore his body, but pulled his soul back to the living world?? (He ruined his only chance at wooing her, but still- romantic)
Wan, Red, Xiaotian and Xiaojiao are still the superior love interests, but I’m rooting for my boy after some long needed character development in the future
You’re right to point out the parallels Ao Bing and Yue’s situation has to Shanzha/RinRin. There is some inherent romance to pulling the dead soul of your to-be lover out of the underworld and breathing life back to you.
Unfortunately, unlike Iceflower, Ao Bing never got to know his savior. She was just there to pull him out and make sure that his revival was a success before swanning off to school for an exam. He had this idealized version of Yue that he built up in his head over the years through secondhand news.
The thing that Ao Bing and Yue share is their love for family. It’s also what Yue considers as a dealbreaker because, while she would have been willing to compromise about the prioritization of either families and their traditions in the unlikely scenario she marries him, Ao Bing is not. He has a traditionalist view that a bride must enter her husband’s family and cast away her childhood family after marriage. It’s a scenario that isolates her and forces her to conform to another’s standards.
The Dragon Family dynamics also reminds Yue of her paternal family in LoES. She would’ve constantly made comparisons with herself and her poor Mama as she would’ve been a pretty trophy wife without a voice to be heard despite her brilliance. (Except her family in FFM are there just waiting for Ao Bing to screw up so they can take her back home. Yue just has to say the word. Or burst into tears. Either are valid signs. She has a wonderful support system.)
Which is why I say it would never have worked nor would it have happened. Not without some MAJOR character development and significant amount of apologies/groveling.
Now, the game Ao Bing is a completely different story….

Not prev anon! They seemed very antagonistic.
I’m curious by ‘no other way to view Travis’ sentiment. I wrote about him (just using him bc in this lens bc that’s how I write him in this) in more of a gen-x man lens where I don’t see that truth even occurring to him. Especially with heavy substance use.
But I like the thought of gender being super repressed post rescue. Would that make sense from a narrative standpoint?
I think many people will agree with your metas (they’re great insights) but might feel trepidation to write about that experience because it’s unfamiliar. Is there specific works you’d recommend about gender relating to trauma?
when i say 'no other way' it is a bit of an exaggeration. i suppose what i'm conveying by that is more along the lines of... any other reading of trav i think is a disservice because well... it's just not very interesting? travis as a character who was raised with machismo as an expectation (because most yellowjackets fans DO forget that there is a very specific type of masculinity which travis was raised with by virtue of being latino) but has never successfully met those markers which we see represented through travis being maligned and sexually harassed pre-crash as well as post-crash through mari jeering at him about the porno mags and jackie asserting that this is supposed to be his dream scenario as a guy and escalating with the assaults (and i do mean plural as i stand by saying jackie coerces travis into sex during doomcoming) being challenged in his misogyny is like the start of something interesting, but it doesn't quite get there until we see travis subsequently abandoning machismo and masculinity (which was making him miserable canonically; travis was performing and badly at that as a means of trying to feel normal and right and accepted, but he wasn't happy in this and it heightened his insecurities and misery) in favor of taking on a more feminine role socially by becoming softer, more caring, more expressive, etc. in no small part because of the traumatic series of events travis has endured. and like... travnat as a heinous t4t couple wherein natalie's internalized* misogyny comes out at the expense of travis once travis begins to socially transition is simply much more interesting than the idea of them as a cishet couple because of that reversal of power that happens.
but of course, travis is heavily traumatized by what happens in the wilderness; they all are. and unlike taissa and van, whose queerness was knowable to them before the crash, travis doesn't have the language yet to describe what happened or what she feels or what it means. and, as traumatic and isolating as it was, the wilderness also provided a sort of safety, not just for travis but for all of them. the wilderness is where taissa, van, shauna, and melissa came out for the first time. the wilderness is where lottie felt like she could finally be herself, free of any of the psychiatric abuse she'd endured. these aren't all things that exist without consequences, but it's where they can be without the judgment and pressures of society. that's why tai, shauna, and lottie wanted to stay there. so... travis can be some version of herself in the wilderness, but the return to society takes that away from her, and now she has to shed the girl she became in the wilderness and return to the man she's "supposed" to be.
trav's struggle with addiction begins in the wilderness, and i think there's not one true reason that it continues because addiction is complicated and hard to explain or even understand yourself, but i think that the dysphoria in addition to the trauma she's accumulated exacerbate it. which is to say yes! i 100% agree that travis represses herself post-rescue and can't explain what she feels and doesn't want to understand it even because it's scary to have come back "wrong" but it's even scarier to contemplate that she was always "wrong" in that way.
i personally have further thoughts on this around trav's relationship with her dad (which is so ambiguous in its badness that i think csa is what makes the most sense and would further exacerbate trav's desire to perform machismo correctly for her dad and unwillingness to understand why she feels so bad doing that because experiencing csa tends to make you feel innately wrong and the idea of further "wrongness" through any degree of queerness is distressing), the wilderness/cannibalism as an allegory for queer girlhood (supported imo by the way people die in the wilderness and even the way travis dies out of it while trying to make it leave her alone finally, which is a rejection of it/her transness the same way jackie dies rejecting it/her lesbianism), and, least canonically of all, my vision of the semi-popular fanon idea of trav and mari having been family friends growing up, but this is already a very long answer so if you'd like to hear those, feel free to ask!
i struggle to recommend any kind of reading on this personally. a lot of my thoughts on the matter are based on personal experience and conversations with other victims or survivors if i'm entirely honest. i think the best way to begin to conceptualize what exactly i mean is to really interrogate the way you think about sexual violence because unfortunately i feel that the way we talk about sexual violence as a society tends to hugely gloss over the way it is gendered violence, even when it happens to people who aren't women in any capacity. i'll mull over if i can think of anything in particular that's good to read on the topic, but i'm very willing to answer questions about the matter and have an open dialogue about it so long as i'm being approached with good faith.
*depending on your understanding of her exact gender

Came across your post about a smarter Darkling and it got me thinking.. what if the Sun Summoner was a boy as ambitious as him but smarter? Like imagine him finding out the Sun Summoner exists after he has already won some other nation?
Tumblr media
I feel like you’re describing a scenario where the sun summoner was Nikolai and was raised by his Fjerdan biological father instead sjfhfd
Sorry this took like a full month for me to get to because it kept getting buried under new asks. Relevant context is that at the time there was some back and forth discussion happening about whether Aleksander would behave any differently with a genderbent sun summoner (I don’t think he would!)
Anyway I think he’d absolutely step in somehow upon discovering an ambitious and immortal Grisha on the playing field regardless, not to mention if it was thee sun summoner. But the key word here is “some other nation”
Nationalism is pretty integral to Aleksander’s perspective! He’s going to view a stronger Fjerda as a threat, even if it’s suddenly a haven for Grisha. (I don’t know how anyone’s managing that, but let’s pretend lol. These are immortal characters, they have endless time to accomplish things) If anything, it serves his interests for Ravka to be the only place Grisha can turn to as a refuge— especially when that results in compulsory military service that they’re going to be grateful for
I doubt he’d go all bets are off, kill it with fire, in the face of a successful sun summoner. But I could see him trying to tentatively ally with and earn his trust, while also subtly trying to destabilize anything he’s built
On the more recent topic of how Aleksander approaches, and fails at, manipulation, through the bias of his arrogance, I think this is a scenario he’d go into expecting it to be a delicate situation. So I think he just wouldn’t be as high handed about it. Like S&B proper he probably sees an isolated orphan Ravkan girl, who’s being lifted out of nothing, and takes for granted that it’s going to be painfully easy to manipulate her, and to get her to do what he wants until the collar ensures things. And while he was largely phoning it in, I think it’s relevant to point out that it probably would have been enough if Baghra hadn’t turned on him!
So all that being said, he’d probably be way more careful here, because it’s just overtly much more complicated. But the long game goal would probably be to somehow sabotage said sun summoner enough that he also has to seek refuge in Ravka. Presumably with the intent of fostering a sense of gratefulness both to the country and to Aleksander himself. The amplifier enslavement plan would also 100% still be on, and probably more urgent rather than a contingency, because he could never trust a Fjerdan etc etc
The plan would probably still fail horribly at some point down the line, but it might actually take longer. And the falling out would undoubtedly be very entertaining

He's still the biggest red flag of the current event, but I wanna know if you'd go "yeah, but he's hot so I'd try anyway" lol.
I mean for me, if you did make the boss dateable in some Alternate Universe (even if it's only for a short time), for funsies, I'd give it a shot.
I'd flame out and burn out hard, but I still think I'd give it a try. I'd be a falling fireball, and I'd hit the ground hard. But at the very least, it'd be entertaining.
Also for me, as aesthetically pleasing to the eye the boss is, I'm more intrigued by his story and what skeletons he has in the closet.
I mean, Navia-mun, you hint at his red flags and his treatment of Cupid and Eros, which means there's a story there. Whether or not he's sympathetic is another issue entirely, but I'd like to hear his story.
Also, given his very bright red flags (attire not withstanding), I also think he'd be super interesting to write as a yandere, if he isn't already one in your mind.
To what extent will he go to, if someone's caught his eye? What sort of things would cause him to be obsessed with someone? Which aspects of his personality would end up coming out more if he does end up being matched with someone?
I think these are all interesting questions the Boss character raises, and I would like to see what sort of character he is or would be, if he was datable.
This was a super long winded ask, but the short answer is yes. Yes, if you made him dateable, I'd shoot my shot and see if I end up his match. And then if not, at least my attempt will be an entertaining fail.
Hm... You know, this actually gave me an idea. Unrelated to the event, but as a what if scenario.
(utc for an imagines. tw for yan behavior and tendencies, obsession and possession, isolation, implied murder but not in a way you'd think, manipulation, heavy lean to unrequited love, toxic relationships... And other tws that can spoil him because its a yandere blog. I think that speaks for itself.)
Boss is a yandere that is a mix of possessive and obsessive. In his worklife, personal life, and even to his friends and family, people can just tell that he's distant. Distant and a bit of a cruel man to those who he sees to have some sort of vendetta against him.
He had people that wanted him. He actually had some that were so, so convinced that they were fated to be together. However, it only took one day spent with him to leave, yelling and crying about how he is so 'abusive' and how 'his workers shouldn't tolerate the bs they all go through because of him'.
How amusing, he thinks. Do they honestly think that they had a chance? A sliver of hope that, in some way, he'd love them like how they do? To him, he saw them as obsessive freaks. He was just dishing out who he is.
Now, him falling for someone is almost laughable. He'd probably be the one who'd question why he'd find some form of interest in a romantic relationship. After all, he sees it more as an inconvenience. He doesn't exactly... Get the appeal as others do.
If he were to, God forbid, fall for someone... That someone better be prepared for a man who is more than ready to simply find any means to get to talking with you. He won't plan on showing his hand that he's managing MixMatch and is associated with Celestia Inc. to some degree, since he hates mixing work life with personal life. He'll just... omit it.
Boss is twisted in his perception of who he enjoys being around with. Quite often, you saw how he simply treats his employees like they were just people who can't understand him. It's laughable, actually.
What isn't laughable is his power.
He's not vocal with what he enjoys, opting to simply let you be the judge. You hold the 'gavel', per say; and although he may be the defendant in your eyes, he aspires to be the prosecution.
He wants you to view him more favorably, so it would be convenient for him when things go awry.
He'll treat you better in dates if he had to. God forbid you tell him that he didn't, for he'd rectify it and say that work made him so, so busy to focus on his personal life. He'd be meticulous to what you like and don't like, what you don't tolerate and do...
... And while you're busy focusing on how nicer he became, he'll slowly taint your views, working and worming his way to someone that you can't push away anymore.
He'd slowly push you till you were unable to get your support system back. He'd make extra sure that you yourself will tell them that you can't be near them anymore. He wants you to do the work for him, since if you loved him so much... Wouldn't you do this for your relationship together?
He'd make sure that you understand your place, even if you aren't his worker at the company. He'd deny any sort of reward until he thinks you've 'straightened up'. He wants to see you squirm and struggle on doing just that, because he himself wants to see if you can be strong to withstand the eye of the storm itself.
He'd shower you with love on the first few years, making sure you're well fed-- no, spoiled without a single bat of an eye, and then he has you in the palms of his hands. He's quite well off, so it wouldn't be long to satisfy your greedy mind with things you wished you could afford.
Then... He'll stop.
If you ask him why he stopped, well... You clearly forgot who you're dealing with.
Bit by bit, your relationship will sour. You'll have to work your way into getting the basic necessities because you've been far, far spoiled for his liking. He'll make you writhe as you try to get his affections.
Then, the cycle repeats. Over, and over, and over, and over. He'll make you so spoiled, then he'll deprive you of it.
He doesn't care what violations he's breaking. He doesn't care if you sobbed and kept saying you can't. He does not care if you tell him you're going to die because of how hard he's been on you.
You wanted this life of luxury. You wanted him.
It's not his fault that you can't read the fine print, is it? That you're so busy obsessing over a man's appearance, riches, and even his manners that you forgot the basic decorum. You forgot to act like a proper individual cause you went 'gaga' over him.
And he hates it. He hates that behavior you have.
Really, he doesn't love you like how you love him. He doesn't give any fucks. All he wants is someone who's so dumb to like him just so he'd have a little toy.
What, you're getting mad because of it? Shocker! He doesn't care.
He's not afraid of getting his hands dirty if he was threatened. Unlike you, he had to work for everything he got. In his eyes, no one deserves the fame unless he permits it.
You're fun as a little toy he had, but he grew bored of you. He doesn't want you anymore.
Maybe he can tip those men off to deal with the mess he's faced with.

Oh my goodness Asaka-san…🥹 This is such an adorable after addition to the story!! I love the thought of Yuma worrying about Makoto every time he gets even a LITTLE bit sick. Thats honestly very called for given what they went through in my story ;w;
Detailed Feedback below
What can I even say here? First of all, the comic is so professionally gorgeous. Everything from the tower at the start to every piece of ramen in the bowl and spoon and Yuma and Makoto (and Kurumi) themselves are all so beautifully illustrated. Love Yuma’s gentle expressions and Makoto’s grumpy ones. Your first attempt at drawing Makoto too! (And it’s for THIS??? I’m so happy…😭) The expression fits the characters so well that I’d almost think that this work was official.
It still utterly baffles me how my work and ideas were able to inspire somebody as amazingly talented at art as you. I don’t know what to even say. I feel like honor is too small a word for my feelings. Enough for you to make sick art not once but TWICE??? I am in awe. It is truly SUCH AN HONOR that you loved my work enough to even make a contribution to it yourself. I am so happy I could cry 🥹 I adore this to my very core!! 💕
And yes I do still feel slightly insecure about how I view these two considering their bond can be taken in many different forms. They have so much potential. Seeing them as family just feels right to me. It doesnt feel as forced or awkward. It’s a bond you can take as slowly as you want to and its definitely the most innocent choice (what can I say? I’m a sucker for found family… xD) I think you portrayed them both so well here. And I like how they’re both still getting used to calling themselves family, but it’s not so awkward that Makoto completely shuts Yuma away. I think its the best way for the two, whom were once so isolated to get used to trusting each-other especially at times like these.
Okay, let’s be real. When it comes to Japanese media, no cold is ever “mild” but I suppose he’d call it that just to get Yuma off his back… xD And yet there he is, laying down, cheeks completely flushed by fever looking very tired and irritated. Perhaps it’s more on the moderate side? Who can say? At least he’s not working and he remembered Yuma’s words to him about taking it easy if he ever feels sick. (Shocker he actually listened lol) I really love how kind and gentle Yuma is with him, he learned a lot from the past incident, but he’s still treating Makoto with enough respect to have it not be too doting, as an older brother would for the younger one. Yuma’s still being a bit doting on him with feeding him and all, but we know deep down Makoto likes the attention. He’s not used to personal care except from Yuma, making it much more meaningful.
I really love the additions of text you added showing that Yuma is worried about Makoto and wants to be closer with him. Makoto seems a little off put by the affection but then shows that he does still appreciate Yuma’s concern regardless. But he’s insecure about his position as the younger brother causing his older brother trouble. I also deeply appreciate Kurumi’s addition here. I believe the three to be close to each other, and Kurumi’s a good and helpful friend to them both c:
Yuma’s not used to being a big brother either. At least so he thinks, but the action and care alone prove he’s taking his role way more seriously than he thinks. It’s all so fluffy and soft!! I love all of it! They show their trust and affection, but still bicker just as siblings should every now and again. Its only healthy!
Thank you again for this wonderful comic Asaka-san. I’m so honored my story was able to give you such an idea. And it’s funny how you say “it was only supposed to be a short comic but it ended up being longer…” (now how many times have I heard that from you @kazinsblog? haha) well it’s very easy to go a bit more with a scenario like this. Why do you think my stories are so long? XD
Anyway I digress. This is such beautiful work and honestly it makes up for me having nothing to contribute to RainCode's anniversary this year… Thank you for the unexpected assist~ x3c You really do a wonderful job with this kind of art. I hope to see it again from you soon! 💜✨
Outstanding work. I absolutely adore it. These two are such adorable brothers! They will always mean the absolute world to me 💕💕💕

Happy 2nd Anniversary to Rain Code! ☔️🎉
To celebrate this day, I created a short manga featuring Yuma and Makoto. Please be advised that this post contains major spoilers from the main story of Rain Code. (Also, please note that the post is very long vertically, so be careful when expanding it.)
This story is based on the world and storyline of A Heartwarming Reunion, a wonderful post-game fan fiction written by @pixelatedraindrops that explores the relationship between Yuma and Makoto, as well as its comic adaptation by @kazinsblog. I highly recommend reading those works first, as this manga draws heavily from them. (For those who are in a hurry: in that story, Makoto falls ill, and through Yuma taking care of him, the two come to acknowledge each other as brothers.) This may be too much of a summary! The original work is very detailed and interesting, so please read it if you have the chance.
Alright then—please enjoy!

18/25. This character was suggested.
Tw: Yandere themes, unhealthy mindset, unhealthy relationship, possessive behavior, obsession, touchiness, violence, overprotective behavior, degradation, sadism, abduction, death
Yandere Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez Hc’s
Tumblr media
🟦The one thing that marks him more than anything is his possessive attitude when it comes to his darling, coupled with his dominant behavior. There is no denial that Grimmjow views his s/o as weak and below him, especially since they’re a human. The man can’t deny that he thoroughly enjoys this fact though, he loves the obvious difference in power between s/o and him and isn’t above tormenting his obsession here and there about it. Partly aware about his rather disturbing attachment he harbors for you, Grimmjow has come to terms of just not giving a damn about it. If he desires you, the most natural conclusion is just taking you and that is what he does. You can’t do anything against it after all. He’s not keen on letting anyone else near you either since you’re only for his eyes.
🟦He tends to be more protective though since he is, astonishingly, lucid enough to know that there are other nutjobs in Las Noches, many of them equally as bloodthirsty as he is without a certain soft spot for you. Against his proud judgement he acknowledges that he worries about your health and safety, heck even your happiness! There is a certain jab in his heart when he witnesses your tears and sadness. He tells you not to think too deeply about it, but Grimmjow is surprisingly touchy when he wants to be. Despite being an Arrancar, he swings into the direction where he is able to show his love more sincerely than a couple of other comrades of his. It doesn’t mean that he can’t be an asshole, degrading you and being blankly disrespectful to you sometimes. If you try to exploit his weak side, he’ll pay you back tenfold because even if he is a hothead, he can be cunning as well.
🟦Once again back to the classic scenario where he keeps you fairly isolated out of possessive and protective reasons. Grimmjow is fairly confident and aggressive so even if he seems quite ready to beat anyone to a pulp who dares to talk to you, it’s more because he’s possessive than jealous. It should be established at this point that this is his darling, his possession, and it is quite rude and annoying in his eyes if someone is too dumb to understand. Even if someone stares too long, it is enough for him to punch someone. That all without being jealous but overly possessive and bloodthirsty. Making him jealous only ends worse because not only will he dispose of the victim but part of his aggression will be let out on his s/o.
🟦As an individual who enjoys the thrill and violence of a battle and is just as much protective, there is no denial that the blue-haired male has a pile of dead bodies behind him. He is eager to kill and rip apart his opponents and this all intensifies only after he has you in his grip. In a twisted way he views it as a sign that he can in fact keep you safe against anyone, by ripping their limbs apart. It’s in the end yet another way to blackmail you as well, a quick reminder that he could travel to the world of humans and wreck havoc where those you cherish live. Worst is that you know that Grimmjow isn’t lying. It will certainly leave you hating him and drowning in misery but in the end it might just be a way to see this all through.
🟦It’ll happen in a heartbeat as soon as he is finally over his denial. What did you expect, honestly? Of course he takes a certain scratch to his ego by falling for an itty bitty thing like his darling. Differently from Ulquiorra and Nnoitra he never complains whether he should just slash you in pieces or not, genuinely. Something simply holds him back and even if it infuriates him, it intrigues him equally. He’s not one to think this abduction through at all, the moment he decides that he wants you he is on his way. No plan, no scheme, no nothing. He merely knocks you out after having cornered you and soaking up the way you cower below him. Once he has you, he realizes that he should have done this way earlier. Trying to stalk you whilst exploding whenever someone got too close to you was never his cup of tea anyways.
🟦I dare to say that he is one of the more pleasant Arrancar simply because he settles down to be fairly laid-back whenever he is alone with his darling and they aren’t really bratty. Truthfully, he doesn’t mind it if his darling is more feisty from time to time since he enjoys butting heads with them and being all sarcastic and mocking with them. As long as they know when to stop it’s totally fine. He isn’t interested in breaking you completely, just enough so he is able to keep you properly by his side. Grimmjow also has his own codex of honor even if he can be disrespectful and sadistic. He won’t push you if he knows that you are already in quite a gloomy mood even if his rather blunt and harsh remarks might still rub salt into your wound.

Blue and Daisy's Ignis Fatuus/Dream counterparts in KOSATSU! (+ Blue's Pidgey) Respectively, their names are Azure and Gloriosa.
Some info about them under the cut! (mostly to be sure, TW for animal abandonment mention)
They, in a loose sense, take the roles of Kim/Berly and Vance/Van. Mostly in the sense of “duo of characters who are siblings, and arguably the closest to the Anger-driven character”. Azure also takes Boss’ role in Ignis Fatuus as the introductory enemy/boss.
The devil/angel motif on Azure and Gloriosa’s accessories is a metaphor for younger Steven’s overall view on them. Their hair is also tree colored and patterned as a reflection of their “Oak” surname.
Their lore is taken from Abandon Lonliness and Strangled Red, respectively (the former, however, with less grimness overall).
Blue picked Eevee, but later ditched him for Pidgey. He didn’t want to openly admit to everyone he didn’t find Eevee cool/strong-looking enough, so he dropped him in Pallet Town’s streets, close to Leaf’s family’s door, which unwittingly granted the little Pokémon a new home and trainer on the long run. The main six learning about that, plus him picking on Red and Alexis (especially the latter) and his bossy, overconfident attitude, made him quite the prickly thorn on their side.
Azure ramps up on the “bully” side of younger Blue, with the “first fight” happening he thought it’d be funny to rub off how he and Pidgey are “better” than Gold and Cyndaquil. He mellows out, but just enough to not be considered an threat-and-annoyance.
The older Blue grew. While not all-there mature, he regrets his past behavior and will not hesitate to help the ones he used to tease. He even joins Steven and Alexis with Pidgeotto to fight Red in Two Days Left. By One Day Left, after Red comes out of his house, the two mend their animosity, promising to be friends.
Daisy and Steven had a relationship that started shortly before the latter and his brother got their Pokémon. It stayed afloat and steady even with Steven being nigh-constantly out of Pallet adventuring with his group of friends, his brother and their Pokémon, until the Incident happened and Steven isolated himself. As much as she hated it, later into the timeskip she gave up on trying to reach out for him.
Both Gloriosa and Daisy can read the bond between trainer and Pokémon for whoever leads the party. Along with specifying which kind of "scenario callouts" the lead Pokémon can perform, Gloriosa has no shortage of positive things to say about each of the bonds. Daisy, though, is quick to notice Steven and Blastoise’s... awkward bond between each other, at least until through the days, the two grow closer.
Daisy doesn’t hate Steven for becoming a shut-in (from her knowledge of what happened to him, she understands why he’d do that), but she also can’t bring herself to feel the same way for him again. A new three-days sidequest would involve rekindling their bond again, with a bittersweet conclusion.

Why Jon Snow Deserves Better
I've been knockin some thoughts around the ole noggin and I think I can finally explain the root of what bothers me about Jon going beyond the Wall with Tormund and gang for no real reason...it's just a totally (and oxymoronic) incomplete conclusion to his Hero's Journey...and here’s why Jon Snow deserves better.
Tumblr media
Jon's been coping his whole life with the fact that he was born a bastard, that he will in actuality hold no influence (because of his birth), that he additionally deserves no place of influence or belonging (because he feels unworthy), and his future is destined for obscurity.
His ascension through the Night's Watch should represent a counter argument to all of his assumptions. He really is of noble birth. He is clearly leadership material. He is chosen for power because people believe in him. His fame grows even if his own opinion of himself does not.
Jon is unknowingly becoming the exact opposite of how he sees himself. So you might think "well then isn't it poetic that he ends up where he thought all along?" to which I'd say that symmetry does not always mean satisfying or, more importantly, fitting of a Hero’s Journey.
Jon staying in the far North is like some bizarro version of Benjamin Button - going backwards. It's not a conclusion. It's waking up from a dream sequence. He awakes from his self actualization only to find himself returning to what he always deeply feared - a life of insignificance and isolation.
Tumblr media
Why I find this so unsatisfying is that the root of his self-doubt comes from two untruths: that he was bastard-born, and that he is unworthy...and to further make the point that his issues are an anchor on his soul and not just simply his personality - his deep seeded feelings of unworthiness are almost entirely explained by his melancholy over his origins (almost like a "survivor's guilt").
The truth of Jon Snow (noble, brave, charismatic, cunning, thoughtful, empathetic) is the complete opposite of the popular narratives surrounding his character ("bastard", "you know nothing", being murdered for "betraying" the Watch, etc.). His attachments to these untruths and false narratives cause him NOT to pursue his own desires because he believes his real desires are impossible and even wanting these things makes him feel immoral.
Tumblr media
Jon Snow devoting himself to being Lord Commander of the Night's Watch is nothing more than a coping strategy. He is living out the "best case scenario" of his sadness every day by being a Night's Watchmen. They have noble goals, sure. They serve an important function, sure. But their lives suck up there. Bastards and 3rd born sons go there. Criminals go there. All are forced to surrender any hope for something more through their oaths.
Think of Batman. He is living every day stuck in the tragedy of the murder of his parents. He wears the suit. He fights crime. But he's pathologically obsessed with his trauma. That's what makes Batman so compelling. So how would it feel if Gotham was cleaned up, all villains defeated, and Batman's conclusion was to keep being Batman fighting low level thugs every night for the rest of his days?
Tumblr media
This is how I feel about Jon returning beyond the Wall. There's no function to his actions anymore. He has an expressed (REPEATEDLY over and over in the books) desire to raise a family, to have a romantic love, to be like his *true* father, Ned. Instead, he falls backwards to something that was premised on his being undeserving of the life he would have envisioned. Obscurity, isolation (the wildlings are not his best friends no matter what the show tried to present), and without family. This was Jon's most depressing future, not his most desired.
The one hope I have for Jon Snow's conclusion in the books is that he is given a proper Hero's Journey. That he can overcome his obstacles both externally (represented by the clash of Ice and Fire) and internally (his own deep seeded self doubts brought on by the lies surrounding his birth) so that he can, for once, let go of that trauma. Because, yes, that trauma served a meaningful purpose in guiding him towards humility and empathy and made him stronger in dealing with those external threats.
Tumblr media
The reminders of his trauma certainly helped him to live out the campaign charged to him by Jeor Mormont, the Halfhand, and company - but after those external threats are defeated the trauma no longer serves him. It only prevents him from actually living his life. He crawled up through the pile of bodies at the Battle of the Bastards because he had a desire to live, not to die, not to live indifferently. And he wants more than what the Watch and Wildlings can provide him at this point.
Self actualization is what I want for Jon. To find acceptance of himself. To find love. To surround himself with family. To finally, FINALLY feel at home. From my reader's eyes, Winterfell is the entirety of those wishes. This is where he belongs. He IS a Stark. Winterfell is his home. If, in the end, it turns out Jon is essentially a static character (one who practices self-denial from the beginning right until the end) I will view it with nothing but disappointment and dissatisfaction.
Tumblr media
Jon Snow deserves better.
