I’m back on my bullshit, y’all. But imagine a school of rock AU with Eddie and Chrissy. Perhaps also a little less illegal. Instead of pretending to be a sub, Eddie is hired to be the music teacher and Chrissy is the sweet P.E teacher and cheerleading coach. Instead of teaching the kids classical music, Eddie is teaching them metal. And, of course, the kids conspire to get them together.

Honestly I’ve wondered about this so much, aren’t there any interviews where they explain why they chose this??

I don’t know about any interviews, but I just glanced through the art book real quick and they mention in it how they took into mind body types and anatomy and designing the characters.

Besides that there’s not much detail into why

5. Have you had a writer you admire comment on your fic? What was that like?

Yes! A few times! Every single time amazing! That’s how @chickenparm got access to my sharedoc (ao3 comment was met with “hey if you like it dm me and you can see more”— you know, like your standard porn bot) and @ink-and-dagger (dm’d on tumblr) and @sweatandwoe (pretty sure it was tags or comments on here idk) both got access to my early sharedoc too because of compliments XD And how @astudyincontrasts and I collabed on the boxer au?? I think?? I don’t recall tbh, I know I was messaging her just gushing about penance, then the boxer fic, and eventually the crossover between boxer projects happened.

I’ve also had people comment on my fic that I later realized were amazing writers (like @of-the-argonath and @insult-2-injury and more), but I wasn’t aware of that when we first talked, so I’m not counting it xD

In all my fandoms, tbh, I got all swoony when people whose work I loved commented on my fic. @hirvitank and @starforged for dishonored, @sarsaparillia and @starchemist for oxenfree, @sassenach-on-the-rocks for AC syndicate. Probably some others, too, but those are the ones I remember off the top of my head. (Those were all under my main, tho, @onewhoturns )

13: Life goal:

Look, I don’t even know at this point. Work on a Dishonored sequel? Open a restaurant? Move country, get married quite soon, and adopt a puppy?

Mostly I want my talents not to go to waste cos I’ve studied various sciences for nearly a decade but my real passion is writing with a but of music thrown in. So.

Spiders. I don’t have a proper phobia, mind you. I used to be really scared all of kinds, but mostly now I can deal with small ones. If I find really small ones I’ll try to deposit them somewhere appropriate like in the garden (if I’m inside) or on a tree (if I’m outside) and I squish medium-sized ones that don’t have any business in my safe areas like my bedroom. I avoid big ones altogether. Jogging is my primary form of exercise and I have run into many spiderwebs. Sometimes the sight of a large one even near a path - not obscuring it - will just cause me to go “okay nope!” and go full reverse.

Just once. It was quite recently actually. My mum was being intolerable and I decided just to give her, and myself, some space to cool down. 

48. Have you ever ditched school to do something more fun?

Nup never. Once or twice we’ve had school cancelled cos of hot weather, I’m talking 40 degrees plus, but no. 

I’ve in fact done the opposite - one time on geography excursion we were supposed to be catalouging houses in terms of number of chimneys, windows, etc, in year 10. What our teacher didn’t know was that the street my friends and I were allocated, was the nearly empty back alley for a bunch of more interesting houses, plus an apartment complex that was behind an 8-foot mostly-opaque reinforced steel gate. We were quite far from our teachers - near the edge of the whole area - so we decided to grab lunch and choose some houses on the other side of the main road for our data before we got back.

As we were finishing lunch some teachers came by and told us off for dawdling. (It was expected that we’d get our own lunch, but we’d already wasted some time in mistaking our street for the front of that row of houses mentiioned earlier.) They said “come on, we all have to go back to the bus now” and we, like the idiots we were, said out loud “no we have to grab data from houses just near here cos we haven’t got it yet” and our teacher LOST IT. He was a big blond man and this was quite scary for me. He gave detentions and everyone else managed to talk their way out of it. I was really truly very embarassed that I’d received such a punishment cos I’d never had anything as bad before. The others just made up data and it didn’t even matter that much to the class project we were working on but… there’s no way for a fifteen-year-old to convince a teacher of some things, apparently. 

93. Have you ever broken a bone?

Yup I’ve fractured my left arm. I was 7. 

I was minding my own business at my sister’s piano teacher’s house (not the cool piano teacher with a nice English accent, but the grouchy piano teacher my sister had before her). It was like a party for the students and their families. It was all like, warm and sunny and not at all a dark or stormy day. The piano teacher’s son was about my age and he was swinging on a tyre on a rope. He let go and flew into me. By my account, I fell over and on my arm. By my mother’s account I flew at least two metres and landed on my arm. My mum immediately spotted that a dried up, rolled up leaf had gotten itself stuck in my heel, me being a big fan of sandals at the time, and she made sure to get that treated… at home.

About 36 hours later my mum noticed that I was still walking around with my left arm dangling uselessly at my side and this, coupled with the fact I’d cried myself to sleep the night before, led her to suspect I might need a x-ray. Which I got. It was a green stick fracture in both the radius and ulna, I think, which is common in kids and easily healed. I had a plaster cast on it for several weeks, I got it signed by everyone at school, which was very fun cos I wasn’t very popular, and now, many years later, I think my left wrist might appear slightly larger than my right but it’s not a huge difference.

Exactly, she specifically mentions feeling off, like something wasn't right with her body. And it wasn't, time was messed up and the outsider fixed it again, he relieved her of her 'phantom limbs'. When you look at it like that he empowered her, for better or worse. Like he's always done.

Absolutely!! And kudos to the creators for handling her disabilities in a way that didn’t erase them, diminish them into something/pitiful, and also didn’t turn them into some kind of misguided attempt at shock/horror. She still lost that arm and that eye, but could now use both in new ways that were both practical and supernatural murder-y.

I always felt a little awkward and uncomfortable about the post-Stilton mansion mission of DH2, primarily because it removed Billie’s disabilities, but it seems the writing crew either had this decision in mind already, or took some criticism to heart and made something new out of it. Whatever the case may be, it was a decision that ultimately showed off one of my favorite parts of the Dishonored series, which is how marginalized folks or people who are maligned and mistreated in our world are front and center to the narrative. It started with babysteps in Dishonored 1, with Jessamine (1) not being married, (2) having a child out of wedlock, (3) having that child be the legitimate, accepted heiress to her throne. I remember thinking how fucking staggering that little thing was, and laughing a little at LPers (mostly men) who reacted with confusion about this. By giving Jessamine sexual freedom, it was doing a brave and bold thing in a small, subtle way.

And then Dishonored 2 came around, and gave us pansexual Empress Emily Kaldwin, bisexual Delilah Copperspoon, transgendered asskicker Mindy, and Emily’s nonbinary lover, as well as Billie, a disabled bisexual woman (or is she a lesbian? She’s sapphic, regardless). And because of this, it became immediately clear to me that Dishonored was a series that wanted to do something new and different with its world and the people in it. It emphatically wanted to create a space in fantasy/speculative fiction for people who weren’t straight white men, straight white people, etc.--i.e., people for whom representation was so common as to be wrongly seen as the default, standard normal.  And by treating these characters like no special thing, by putting these people in the story and not treating it like something ~exotic~ or remarkable--by making them people who lived and breathed and loved and lied in the world of Dishonored--it had this really wonderful message not just of inclusion but of normalization. Of course these people existed in the story. They exist in real life, and they’re people.

Just something to give the game its own memorable look.

Well there we go! It makes sense and it really does lend to the overall style of Dishonored, where things are just out of proportion enough to not be called realistic. The hands are just probably the most obvious since they use those a lot to express characters and actions.
