Klance Launch Date
Basically Launch Date, but with Klance instead of Allurance :))))))))
Lance sat at a cafeteria table, absentmindedly stirring his coffee. He didn’t normally drink coffee at this time of day, but he found it helped to calm his nerves.
Hunk sat down across from him, a smile on his face. “Launching tomorrow. The big day.” Lance zoned out as his best friend continued. “Oh, it seems like it was forever ago when we piled into the Blue Lion and blasted out into space. Man, we had no idea what we were getting into!”
“Yeah,” Lance agreed, still not really listening.
“But now it’s different,” Hunk said. “We’ve seen it all. We’re rugged veterans now, going back into battle one last time.”
Lance hummed. “Yup.”
“Guess that makes us heroes or something? … Like the type of heroes that would have their own TV show!” The yellow paladin chuckled, clasping his hands together. “Did you watch it, Lance? Ah, it’s so cool! It’s so cool. They got you spot-on, but Coran is like…” Hunk made a face. “He’s all super serious and stuff.
“And Allura is a little… I don’t know, she’s different. Keith is friendly!” Hunk laughed like that was the funniest thing he’d ever heard. Keith’s name caught Lance’s attention. “He’s happy all the time. I mean, they got it so wrong.”
Lance frowned. Keith could be friendly with people he liked! There just… wasn’t a lot of people that he really liked.
Before he could interrupt, Hunk kept talking. “Plus, I think they’re hinting at some romance between him and Allura.”
Lance jumped out of his seat, slamming his hands on the table. “What?! Keith and Allura? No! It should be Keith and Lance!” He sat down, realizing what he’d just said. He lowered his voice. “Uh, I mean it should be Lance and Allura. Saying it should be Keith and Lance would imply that I have a crush on him. Which I don’t… And besides, Keith is gay! Like, everyone knows that.”
His friend raised an eyebrow. “Uh huh, sure. Anyways, a love triangle?” He pointed a finger gun at Lance. “I like where you’re taking this.”
The blue paladin sighed. “No, no. It’s not about that…”
“Wait, that’s right. You said you were going to invite Keith to dinner at your house.” Hunk’s voice started to grow louder. “Oh, you asked him, didn’t you? Ah, and he said no. Oh. Oh, man. And here I am, rubbing your face in it. Sorry, buddy—”
Lance cut him off. “Keep your voice down! He didn’t say no. I… Well, I haven’t asked him yet. And I’m scared to…”
“You chickened out?”
“I didn’t chicken out!” Lance growled, putting his face in his hands. “I just… My family doesn’t know I’m bisexual. I know they’ll support me,” he added. “But I’ve got a good thing going with Keith right now! We’re finally friends, and I don’t want to ruin that if he doesn’t like me back. Maybe this just isn’t the right time…”
Hunk frowned. “No, Lance. What? It’s the only time. After tomorrow, we’re back in space fighting the Galra. There is no other time, literally. And I can’t believe how oblivious you are!” His voice softened. “Keith has clearly had a crush on you since, like, forever. Also, you two already bicker like an old married couple, so you’re already one step there! You’re asking him today, and that is final, young man.”
Lance thought about it. Maybe Keith did like him, and he’d just pushed him away with his stupid made up rivalry. “… Thanks, man,” he said, standing up. I’ll ask him after the meeting today!”
As Lance walked away, he suddenly realized something. Wait… do we really fight like an old married couple?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Keith strood through the hallway, going through his mental checklist. Alright. I’ve packed my stuff. Maybe I should take Kosmo for a walk? Yeah, he would like that. I should also spend some time with Black tonight. I think Kosmo needs a bath. Would Black like a wash, too? Do the Lions even need cleaning? I’ll ask her lat—
“Hey, uh, Keith?”
He stopped, Lance’s voice cutting through his thoughts. Keith smiled. “Hey, Lance. What’s up?”
Lance ran up to him, panting. He stopped, leaning over and trying to catch his breath. “Dude, why do you walk so fast?”
“I don’t walk fast. Maybe you’re just slow.”
The blue paladin glared at him, spluttering. “I-I’m not slow, Mullet! I like to stroll. You on the other hand…” Lance ran a hand down his face. “Oh god, we do argue like an old married couple.”
Keith's eyes widened. Had he heard that right? “What?”
“Nothing!” the Cuban boy yelped, straightening his posture. “Anyways, I was just, uh, checking in. So, how are…  things?”
“Um.” Lance looked sweaty and nervous. Why is he acting so weird? “Yeah, things are fine. Are you okay?”
“Oh, yeah, I’m good,” Lance said. He put his hands behind his back. “Just, are you busy tonight?”
Keith bit his lip. “Well, I was thinking about giving Kosmo a walk and a bath. Why?”
“O-Oh, um,” the blue paladin stammered. “If you’re busy, it’s nothing.”
Lance looked so downcast. Keith’s heart felt like it was being squeezed. He didn’t like seeing a frown on his friend’s face. “But, Kosmo can wait,” Keith said, trying to salvage the situation. “What did you have in mind?”
Lance clasped his hands together. “Um, actually, I was wondering…” Keith’s pulse quickened. A little part of his mind whispered ‘Is Lance going to ask me out on a date?’ Woah, where did that come from? The blue paladin continued. “If, maybe, if you want to, you could have dinner with me tonight?”
A weird feeling warmed his heart, and he found himself blushing. “A-And my family,” Lance said. “Dinner with me and my family? My mom’s cooking for our last night together. I-I just thought you could join us.”
Keith pretended to think for a moment. “Will there be the famous garlic knots I have heard so much about?”
Lance nodded, looking sad again. “Yeah. I’ll ask her to make them, she usually does.”
“Lance!” Keith grabbed his hand. “I was just joking. Of course I’ll come.” He suddenly hesitated. “You’re… asking me out on a date, right?”
The blue paladin blushed, looking down at their intertwined hands. “Yes, I am. I really like you, Keith.”
He let go of Lance’s hand, suddenly feeling self-conscious. “I really like you too, Lance. Sorry I was such a jerk when we first met. I’m not good with people.” He was already nervous about meeting Lance’s big family. “And I can take Kosmo, too. You’re an uncle, right? There should be kids?”
Lance gave him a big smile. “Yeah, Silvio and Nadia would love Kosmo!”
There was a few seconds of awkward silence as they stared at each other. Keith started to chew on his lip again. How do boyfriends-who-aren’t-officially-boyfriends-because-they-haven’t gone-on-a-date-yet act around each other?
Lance also looked unsure. Thankfully, Hunk saved them. He came up and put a hand on Lance’s shoulder, slowly pulling him away. “Okay, Loverboy Lance. Now walk away before he changes his mind.”
Keith tried not to snicker at the nickname. He watched them go, a dreamy smile spreading unknowingly across his face. I can’t believe I finally have a date with Lance! He had actually had a crush on him at the Garrison long ago, but Lance had always thought there was a rivalry between them, so they never got close.
“Ohoho,” someone purred behind him, startling him out of his thoughts. “Finally! I thought for sure he would never ask you.”
The red paladin whipped around. He was met by a sneaky smile and glittering brown eyes. He tried not to sigh. “Hello, Rizavi.”
The girl took a step back. “Call me Nadia. Oh, I’ve been waiting for one of you to ask the other out. I literally cannot believe how oblivious you both are.”
Keith frowned. “What? Me and Lance? How did you know?”
“It’s hard not to notice with all the romantic tension between you two.”
“W-What?” he spluttered. “We don’t have any romantic tension! What are you talking about?”
“Um, yes you do.” She gestured at him. “There’s tons of it. Well, not right now, since he asked you out to dinner.”
“Were you listening to our whole conversation?” Keith hissed.
Nadia flipped her hair over her shoulder. “Yeah, pretty much. And I saw your face. You seem like a guy that’s pretty socially challenged. Which means you’ll probably need help choosing what to wear!”
“What’s wrong with my usual outfit?” Keith asked, feeling slightly embarrassed. He had been planning to wear what he usually wore instead of his uniform or armor.
She scoffed. “Everything. You need something more fancy, and I’m your gal. We could go shopping!”
“No,” he said. “I can handle this myself.”
“No you can’t.” She wagged a finger at him. “I’m going to help you, but we need more input. I was thinking we can grab Allura?” Nadia’s eyes suddenly sparkled with concern. “She’s been spending all her time in the Med Bay lately. It’d be good for her to get out.”
Keith crossed his arms. “… Fine. But only if Allura agrees.”
Nadia rubbed her hands together, an evil look on her face. “We need more opinions… and I know just the people to bring along.”
Keith was starting to regret his decision.
----------------------------------------------------
Nadia’s first target was Allura. They headed to her usual place, the Med Bay. Allura and Romelle were looking through the window, watching the unconscious Altean. They were whispering to each other softly.
“Hey!” Nadia called, jogging up to the pair. “Allura! Romelle!” Keith followed her quickly.
The two Alteans looked up. “Rizavi,” Allura said. “Hello. What is it?”
“Keith has a date with Lance!” Nadia squealed. “And we were thinking that you could help us pick out his outfit!”
Allura simply frowned. “That sounds wonderful, but I can’t. I’m sorry, but we must keep an eye on Luca.” Her gaze strayed back to the window. “She could wake up any day now.”
“Pleeeaaaase, Allura.” Nadia’s eyes were wide and pleading. “It would be good for you to get out, and we could really use your help. Right, Keith?”
She grabbed his arm, pulling him forward. He shot a glare at the obnoxious girl. “Yes, Allura, I could use your help. Because apparently I have no fashion sense.”
“Hmm,” Allura hummed, looking unsure. “I should really stay here…”
Romelle put a hand on her friend's shoulder. “Allura, I know you’re worried about Luca, but we’re worried about you. It’ll be good to get away for a night and clear your head.” They stared at each other for a few seconds, a soft look on both their faces.
Is that how me and Lance look when talking about each other? Keith wondered.
“Okay, lovebirds,” Nadia interrupted, crossing her arms. “Don’t worry, Romelle can come too.”
Allura raised an eyebrow. “Love… birds? Wait…” Her cheeks darkened. “What! W-We don’t— We’re not. Ugh, fine. Maybe taking a break is a good idea.”
Nadia clapped her hands. “Perfect! I’ll get Ina too, but right now, I know just the person to ask!”
----------------------------------------------------
Pidge was next. He followed Nadia, as she entered the ship’s greenhouse, Allura and Romelle right behind him. “Hey, Pidge. Do you have a sec?”
She looked up from her tablet, putting it down. “Sure. What’s up?”
Beezer was suddenly looking very interesting right now. Keith busied his attention on the little robot. Nadia smiled. “Well, Keith has—”
Romelle butted in, her voice shrill with excitement. “A date… with pointy chin!”
“Wait.” Pidge’s eyes widened in surprise. “A date? With Lance?” Beezer squealed, an exclamation mark on his screen. “Weird. Well, I’m glad you guys worked it out.”
“It’s not weird,” he muttered in protest.
Nadia ignored him, clasping her hands together with excitement. “And we were thinking, you could help us choose Keith’s outfit!”
Colleen laughed from a few rows over, her eyes still on her screen. “Katie? Fashion? That’s a good one.”
Pidge glared at her mom, then hugged her tablet to her chest. “Well, I heard the mall has reopened. I’ve been wanting to check it out,” her golden-brown eyes flicked towards Colleen, “but I’m grounded.”
“Grounded?” Romelle asked, sounding confused. “I wasn’t aware humans could float.”
Keith sighed. “No, Romelle, we can’t float. It just means that Pidge isn’t allowed to go anywhere without her mom’s supervision. It’s a punishment.”
“What are you grounded for?” Allura questioned, her eyebrows furrowed.
Colleen spoke up, not even looking up from her tablet. “She’s grounded because apparently my daughter thinks that running away from home and gallivanting off into space without her mother’s permission is an acceptable activity for a fifteen year old.”
There was a moment of silence as the green paladin hunched her shoulders. She then turned around and started yelling at her mom. “Well, apparently, finding my brother and saving my father from an intergalactic space tyrant doesn’t get me a pass!”
Colleen’s eyes glimmered as she replied. “Not on your life, young lady.”
Beezer beeped, panicked, and ran out of the room. Keith was tempted to do the same. The air literally crackled with tension as the two stared each other down. He winced. He could see where Pidge got her ruthlessness from.
Romelle hid behind Allura as Nadia tried to calm the situation. “Please, Mrs. Holt, we could really use her help.”
“We will not let her leave the ground once,” Romelle added.
Pidge’s mother studied them, one eyebrow raised. After a moment of silence, she closed her eyes. “All right.” She glanced at her daughter. “But only because I know how much Katie hates shopping for clothing.”
Pidge let out a low growl as Keith pulled on her arm to lead her out of the room. “Thank you, Colleen. And humans don’t float,” he grumbled to Romelle as she passed him.
----------------------------------------------------
There were a lot of people at the mall. More than Keith had expected. The entire mall was actually bigger than he had thought it was going to be. To be honest, Keith had never really been to an actual mall before. There were too many people, and he’d basically been living alone in a shack for a good chunk of his life, so there was no need to go to one.
There were aliens and humans alike shopping everywhere. They had grabbed Ina, and everyone had changed into their normal clothes before heading out.
Nadia put her hands on her hips, turning to the five of them. “Okay. ‘Operation Find Keith a Date Outfit’ is go! We’re going to take it one store at a time until we come out of this place successful.” She pointed out to the mall. “Let the hunt begin!”
Keith smirked as they started to make their way around. An operation, huh? We’re going to need a battle strategy…
He smashed a fist against the inside of his palm, cracking his fingers. “All right, team. We need a plan. Leifsdotter, Rizavi, Pidge, you three take the north side. Me, Allura, and Romelle will cover the south. Then, if yo—”
“Oh, Keith,” Nadia sighed, looking over her shoulder at him with a tsk. “Sweet, naive, beautiful, Keith. Haven’t you ever been shopping before? We can’t split up.”
His face turned red. “I’ve been clothes shopping! I’ve just… only done it by myself.”
“Suuure,” Pidge drawled from next to him. “Anyways, Rizavi is right. We need your opinion on everything, so we can’t split up.”
Keith's shoulders slumped. I hate shopping. Allura and Romelle led the pack, whispering quietly to each other. Ina and Nadia walked in front of him and Pidge. They were talking loudly. Mostly Nadia.
As they walked past a stall, Pidge suddenly stopped, rushing back to the stall and crouching down. “Killbot Phantasm 26: Revengifiance! This is out?” Her voice was shrill with excitement.
Nadia joined her, her mouth gaping open with shock. “Oh my gosh! It came out just a few days before the Galra invaded. No one was ever able to reach the end!”
Keith rolled his eyes. “That’s right,” the stall owner said, his voice soft. “I have one of the few undamaged units left.”
“WE’LL TAKE IT!” Pidge and Nadia yelled, leaning in close.
The poor seller gave them a nervous look, glancing back and forth. “Okay. Great to meet such passionate KBP fans. What have you got to trade?”
There were a few beats of silence. “Trade?” Pidge said, her voice small. She looked at Rizavi, then looked back at them.
Keith groaned and facepalmed as Ina showed them her empty pockets. Did we really forget to bring money? Or something to trade? Now how will we get something for me to wear for our date? That actually upset him more than he had expected.
“I-I, uh…,” Pidge stammered. “I don’t… really have anything.”
He really wanted to punch the easygoing smile off of the shopkeeper’s face. “I’m sorry, but no trade, no game.”
His friend groaned in defeat, lowering her head. Keith took a step forward. Maybe he could negotiate. Maybe trade his jacket or belt?
Before he could get closer to them, Nadia stood up, gesturing to Pidge. “Well, that’s some way to treat a Paladin of Voltron.”
The stall owner’s eyes widened. “Wait, what? You mean, like, from the show?”
“Show? Well, kind of,” Pidge said. “It was based off me.” She glanced back at Keith. “And him.”
“My kid loves that show!” the man said, leaning back. “The game is yours if I could just get an autograph for my daughter.”
Pidge shot up, a strange smile on her face. “Sure thing!” she exclaimed in a higher, squeakier voice. “Anything for the kids!”
She pulled out a pencil from nowhere and drew a mini version of her face on a paper the man handed her. She gave the paper to him. “Come on, Keith! Autograph time!”
Keith reluctantly took the pencil and wrote his name in big, blocky letters. She snatched the paper and gave it back to the man, in exchange for the video game.
As Pidge turned around, she flashed him a sneaky smile, an evil glint in her eyes. They proceeded to go around, trading stuff for his and Pidge’s autographs. Soon, the green paladin had traded enough clothes to dress up as her character in the show. She had even tried to get Keith to wear a costume too, but he had loudly disagreed.
----------------------------------------------------
Lance took a deep breath. This was fine, everything was fine. He wouldn’t get mad at him for asking Keith out.
He entered the bridge, clearing his throat. “Uh, Shiro?”
The captain of the Atlas paused, looking up from his screen. “Yes, Lance?”
“Could I, uh, talk to you?”
“Sure. In private, or…”
“Y-Yeah. In private, thanks.”
Shiro nodded, stepping down from his captain spot and coming up to Lance. The blue paladin led him down the hall and to his room, nervously fidgeting.
“Alright, Lance,” Shiro said as the door slid shut behind him. “What do you need?”
He rubbed the back of his neck. “Um, it’s about Keith.” He kept going before Shiro could interrupt. “I know that Krolia is his actual mother but you’re like a father or big brother to him.”
“Lan—”
“And please don’t get mad at me, but I asked him out on a date and I just wanted you to know about it.”
“Lance—”
“I also wanted advice about what to do because you know him better than I do an—”
“Lance!” Shiro yelled, cutting him off. “Lance, calm down. I’m not mad.”
He wet his lips nervously. “… You aren’t?”
“No.” Shiro smiled. “Quite the opposite. I’m glad you guys worked it out. I was hoping you would before we left.”
“Oh,” Lance murmured. Are we really that obvious? “Okay, cool. Cool. So, can you give me any advice? Like what does he like? I invited him to dinner with my family, but now I’m not sure.” He started rambling. “We could probably do something after. Like take a walk, maybe? No, that’s not good enough. Who am I kidding! Nothing I could come up with is good enough for Keith Kogane! He deserves the best, and I don’t—”
“Lance!” Shiro put a steady hand on his shoulder, grounding him. “If Keith is going out with you, it’s because he likes you.”
Lance sighed. “I know, but—”
“No,” Shiro stopped him. “No, buts. Keith likes you for you. So the best advice I can give is to be yourself.” His gaze suddenly darkened. “Just… be patient with Keith. He’s been hurt before, and isn’t used to being loved. And if you hurt him, I’ll have some choice words for you.”
Lance held up his hands. “Okay, okay, should have expected the shovel talk. Don’t worry, I won’t hurt him.” He poured all his emotion into those few words. “And I won’t let anyone hurt him ever again.”
Shiro smiled again, ruffling his hair. “Good. Everything will be fine. Now go get ready, Loverboy Lance.”
----------------------------------------------------
The group was walking around some more, laden with bags full of junk that they had bought. Rizavi suddenly stopped them in front of a store. “Oh, I’ve got a good feeling about this place. Keith, leave this to me. Ladies, divide and conquer!”
Pidge sat in the corner, reading a comic book, while Allura and Romelle looked at the shiny jewelry. He followed Nadia as she started browsing, looking through the men’s clothes. “You’re the last person I would trust to pick an outfit,” Keith grumbled.
She flipped her hair over her shoulder. “You’ll just have to deal with it sweetheart.”
He ignored her, turning around to a rack of assorted clothing. They spent a few minutes searching. He picked up a cool black jacket with crimson highlights. It probably wasn’t fancy enough.
Ina and Nadia ran up to him, mischievous looks on their faces. The black-haired girl started pushing him towards the dressing rooms. “Keith! Try on these outfits!”
As soon as he looked at the outfits they had chosen, he knew they were all wrong, but he decided to humor them. Nadia had picked out a yellow and white sporty outfit for him. “Ta da!” she yelled, showing it off. Ina, Allura, Romelle, and Pidge all gave it a dubious look. Keith silently agreed with them.
Ina had picked out a really baggy light red and white suit, with short white pants. That one got the same reaction as before.
Romelle’s choice was almost indescribable, and not in a good way. It was super colorful and looked like she had grabbed random things and thrown them together. His patience was starting to wear thin.
Same reaction. Allura smiled and gave her an encouraging thumbs up. “Good try, Romelle!” Pidge facepalmed.
The green paladin’s outfit was the same thing Keith’s character wears in the new show. He had refused to even try it.
He hoped Allura’s outfit was better. She had always seemed the most fashionable out of all of them. It was the best out of all the others so far. She had chosen a white dress shirt with a red tie and black slacks.
As he stepped out, Nadia’s eyes sparkled. “Wow, Allura! That looks amazing! It really suits you, Keith.”
He shrugged. “Yeah, it looks good. Thanks, Allura, but… something feels off. One second.”
Keith got to work, going through the aisles and grabbing items that he had seen earlier. He went back into the dressing room. He came out again, enjoying the looks on everyone’s faces.
Nadia sighed happily, putting her hands on her hips. “I think we’ve done it.”
“More like I did it,” Keith corrected. “And Allura. Thanks again.”
The princess smiled. “My pleasure. Shall we go?”
They went up to the counter and set the clothes down. The four-armed alien turned around giving them a pleasant smile. “Why, hello there. Is this everything?” Keith frowned. Something felt off about this guy. He didn’t trust him.
“Yep,” Rizavi said. “Mission complete!”
The alien held up a calculator in one hand, and looked through the clothes with another. “Let’s see, what have we got?” He cracked his knuckles and went to work punching numbers in. “Two decorative tarps with casing, one foot container and its mirror match, and a pair of damaged leg coverings. That’ll be… one phoeb of servitude from your small friend there.”
Nadia’s eyes grew to the size of golfballs. “What? A year?”
“A month,” Pidge said, glancing back at her. “I got this.” She spun around, ruffling up her hair to look like her character, and turned back to the counter, putting on her nasally voice. “How about you give us all this and I give you an autograph from a world-famous Paladin of Voltron.” Her eyes sparkled convincingly.
The alien had a confused, and slightly disgusted, look on his face, an eyebrow raised. “No! Price just went up to three phoebs.”
Pidge took a step back as Allura spoke up. “I could give you a royal decree of service from the Crown Princess of Alte—” She suddenly stopped, and looked at the ground with a sigh. “Oh, right, I, um…”
Romelle gave her concerned look, then clasped her hands together. “I can make you a deca-phoebs’ worth of blomfruit pies! I just need blomfruits. You wouldn’t happen to sell any, would you?”
“Shipping will cost you ten phoebs of servitude alone!” the alien yelled, leaning forward.
Keith scowled at the alien behind the counter, putting a hand on Allura’s shoulder. “Maybe this was a bad idea. I don’t need the clothes. Let’s just go.” If he was being honest, he really wanted the clothes. They looked good and made him feel good, but he wasn’t going to put up with this shopkeeper any longer.
He turned around and started to walk away, everyone following him. The four-armed alien suddenly gasped. “Wait!” he called, reaching out towards them. “I’ll give you a friendly deal. You can have all this… for Killbot Phantasm 26: Revengifiance.” Pidge’s eyes widened with surprise.
“No deal!” Nadia growled, narrowing her eyes. “What could you possibly need it for?”
“I’ve been looking to get my claws on that game for deca-phoebs.” A slightly dreamy expression appeared on his face. “I’m a huge KBP fan.”
He noticed the thoughtful way Pidge was looking at the game. As Rizavi vehemently denied his offer, Keith put an arm around his friend’s shoulder. “It’s okay, Pidge. I don't need them. This guy is shady anyways.” He pushed down his reluctance at giving up the clothes.
She shook her head, holding it out to the alien. “It’s fine. You can have it. We don’t have any time to play it anyway.”
As she turned around, Keith, who was usually not one for physical touch, bent down and hugged her. “Thank you,” he whispered in her ear.
He let her go, and Pidge gave him a happy smile and a thumbs up. “Anytime. Now, let’s get you ready!”
----------------------------------------------------
Keith hesitantly rang the doorbell, trying to smooth down his hair for the tenth time. Even after Rizavi tried tackling it with a hairbrush and gel, it still stuck up defiantly. It was fine though, Keith liked it this way.
Komso brushed against him reassuringly. He ruffled the wolf’s mane affectionately, and straightened as the front door swung open.
Standing on the other side was a woman. Keith could immediately tell this was Lance’s mother. They both had the same bright smile and chocolate-brown hair.
“Come in, come in, my dear!” she said. Even though he was bad at reading people, Keith detected a slight strain in her voice. She looked over her shoulder, swinging the door open wider. “Oh, you look wonderful! Doesn’t he look wonderful, Lance?”
Lance, who had been walking down the stairs, paused, his mouth gaping. “Wow!” he breathed, his eyes sparkling. “You look amazing.”
Keith glanced away, blushing. He nervously ran a hand through his hair, messing it up again. Rizavi would be so mad right now.
He brushed a piece of Kosmo’s fur off his sweater. He had picked out a loose red sweater to put on over the white dress shirt Allura had found, with ripped black jeans and black combat boots to complete the look.
“Thanks,” Keith said, meeting Lance’s eyes. The Cuban boy was wearing a tight white sweater with gray arms that looked adorable on him. “You look good, too.”
Lance smirked, making his way down the stairs and stopping in front of him. “Wow, a rare compliment by the amazing Keith Kogane. Who would have thought it was possible?”
“Remind me why I like you again?” Keith asked teasingly, crossing his arms.
Kosmo chuffed in greeting, bounding up to Lance. The blue paladin kneeled on the ground, allowing the wolf to jump up and lick his face. “Hey, buddy!” He laughed as Kosmo licked his cheek again, his tail wagging. God, who given this boy the right to look so damn cute. Lance looked up. “Maybe it’s because of my charming personality and dashing looks?”
“No, it’s because Kosmo likes you. Otherwise, you’d be kicked off the team.”
Lance’s face darkened, but it was so quick that maybe he had imagined it. “Yeah, yeah, I know.” He stood up, putting a hand on the woman’s shoulder. “Anyways, Keith, this is my mom and Pop-pop.” He went through everyone, pointing at each person as he named them. “You know Veronica. That’s Rachel, my brother Marco, my other brother Luis, his wife Lisa, and their kids, Silvio and Nadia.”
The two kids weren’t even looking at him, their eyes were fixed on Kosmo. “Puppy!” the little girl shrieked.
Luis put a hand on Nadia’s shoulder, a nervous look on his face. “I knew you were bringing your pet, but… is it safe?”
Keith tried not to frown, instead forcing a smile. “Yes,” he said through gritted teeth. “Kosmo may be a space wolf, but he is well trained.” Kosmo gave him a look like ‘Seriously?’ At least he hoped he was.
“Don’t worry, guys,” Lance said, reaching down and patting the wolf’s head. “Kosmo is pretty chill.”
Luis let go of Nadia’s shoulder, and with that, the young girl ran up to Kosmo, throwing her arms around him. “Good puppy!”
The wolf sat patiently, his tail thumping on the ground as Nadia ran her fingers through his fur. Silvio slowly approached them, holding out his hand. Kosmo stood up, Nadia still practically hanging on him, and sniffed the boy’s hand. The space wolf licked his hand, making him giggle.
Rachel was giving him a suspicious look, but didn’t say anything. Now that Keith thought about it, everyone looked slightly uncomfortable. Is it because I’m a boy? he wondered. Did Lance’s family not know that he is bi? As the children started to play with Kosmo, Lance grabbed his hand. “Come on, Keith! Let’s go set the table.”
He allowed Lance to lead him to the dining room, a light blush dusting across his cheeks. They set the table, talking and laughing. His heart fluttered everytime Lance brushed against him.
They joined everyone in the living room after setting the table as Lance’s mother and Pop-pop went to the kitchen to finish dinner. The tension that Keith had noticed disappeared throughout the evening.
The kids had fun playing with Kosmo, who was preening under all the attention, and all of Lance’s family was really nice. Even Rachel eventually warmed up to him.
At one point, Nadia had run up to him and Lance, a curious expression on her face. “Uncle Lance, you’re a boy, and Keith is a boy, but you’re in love, right?”
They exchanged an awkward glance. “Yeah, kiddo,” Lance eventually said, ruffling her hair. “Why?”
She had a thoughtful look on her face. “So, is it okay if a girl likes a girl?”
“Of course.” Lance smiled. “Anyone can like anyone they want to.”
“Okay!” Nadia said, her face lighting up. “Thanks, Uncle Lance!”
Keith’s heart felt warm as he watched her run off.

When dinner was ready, they sat at the table, Lance pulling out Keith’s chair for him and sitting next to him. A headache that had started to plague him was chased away by the sensation of Lance holding his hand under the table.
The food was really good, especially the garlic knots. Even Kosmo had gotten bits of food slipped under the table from Silvio and Nadia. Eventually, Lance’s family started to tell embarrassing stories about his childhood.
“Or the time when we were kids,” Marco was saying, twiddling with his fork. “And Veronica mixed dirt with water and told Lance it was chocolate milk.” Keith chuckled along with everyone else, enjoying the annoyed look on his boyfriend’s face. Woah, when had he started thinking of Lance as his boyfriend?
“Oh, yeah!” Veronica exclaimed. “I still can’t believe he fell for it.”
Keith shook his head. “Oh God, I’m dating an idiot. What did he do?” The strange tension from before suddenly flooded the room again. Why did I say that?!
Lance blushed at his words as his sister continued. “He told on me, of course. Then Pop-pop gave him ice cream and I got none.”
“Yeah, Lance was always the baby of the family,” Marco said, a gleam in his eyes. “It only took you coming to dinner to graduate him to the adult table.”
Keith could feel Rachel’s eyes glaring daggers into his back. He put a smirk on his face. “That’s not surprising.”
Lance squawked in protest. “What?! What’s that supposed to mean, babe?”
He couldn’t help but blush at the nickname. That meant Lance wanted to be boyfriends, too. They would talk about it later.
Keith put his head on his boyfriend’s shoulder. “You know exactly what I mean, Lance.”
After he sat up straight again, there was a beat of awkward silence. Then, Lance’s mother spoke up.
Her next words were kind, but for some reason, it made Keith’s mental hackles raise. “Lance never brings girls, or boys, home. You must really mean something to him.”
Girls, or boys…
“That’s strange.” Keith had meant the words to be teasing, but they came out sharper than intended. “Lance gave off the impression of being really popular with women.”
There was an even longer moment of silence, only the kids still obliviously talking.
Then Veronica rose, clearing her throat. She held up a glass of water. “A toast… to family. Though we may be apart after tomorrow, we’ll always remain close at heart. Family is forever.” She glanced at him, her eyes raking over the table. “And to Keith, the newest member of our family.”
Everyone held up their glasses. “To family!”
He put down his glass, staring into the water. Family… Keith had never really had a permanent family before. His father had died when he was young, and his mother had left. He now knew why Krolia had to leave, but it still didn’t change the past. Then Shiro had become his father figure. Then he had also left, presumed dead on the Kerberos mission.
Then the paladins had come, and he had felt like part of a family again. Pidge had felt like a little sister. Hunk the big brother he had never had. Coran had turned into the weird, crazy uncle. Allura had become almost like a mother, and now their sister. Lance… Lance didn’t really have a family title in Keith’s eyes. Now he knew it was because he had a crush on the blue paladin.
Even with Krolia back, Keith still felt like he was missing something. Maybe it had come from visiting his father’s grave when they came back to earth? Or maybe it was seeing Lance, Hunk, and Pidge with their families… Another reminder that he would never fit in.
Keith stayed quiet the rest of the evening. After it was over, he thanked Lance’s mother for the wonderful dinner, and said a quick goodbye to Lance. Then, the moment he was out of sight, had Kosmo teleport him back to the Garrison.
After getting back, he made his way to the lions, Kosmo following him. He sat on Black’s head, stroking the wolf’s fur. Since it was summer, the sun was going down later, allowing Keith to catch the last of its rays as it dipped below the horizon.
The wolf suddenly teleported out from under his fingers, a rush of cold air greeting his hand. He sighed. Even Kosmo doesn’t want to hang out with me right now…
A few seconds later, Kosmo appeared. He had a passenger. The wolf gave him a pointed look before disappearing again.
Lance sat there, blinking in confusion. “Wha— Oh, hey, Keith.”
“Hey, Lance,” he muttered, avoiding eye contact.
“Sooo,” Lance said. “You’re watching the sunset?”
“Yeah…”
There was a few seconds of silence, before they both spoke at the same time.
“I’m sorry for ruining your dinner!”
“I’m sorry for being a bad boyfriend!”
Keith was the first to speak. “What? You’re not a bad boyfriend! Why would you even think that, Lance?”
The blue paladin scowled. “Oh, I don’t know, maybe because I forced you into having dinner with my family? And what about you? You didn’t ruin anything, Keith!”
“Yes, I did,” he bit out. “My very presence ruined it! It’s obvious that your family doesn’t want us dating. They probably want a future daughter-in-law. Not a son.”
He didn't look at Lance. “… What?” The boy’s voice was confused. “Keith… it’s not you. My family loves you. Everyone wouldn’t shut up about it afterwards.” He finally turned to look. Lance’s eyes were soft. “It was my fault. I only told them I was bi and that I had invited my boyfriend to dinner only after I had asked you. They aren’t against us, they just still need to get used to me dating a boy.” He grabbed his hands. “Keith, you didn’t do anything wrong. You are fucking amazing. It was my fault. It’s always my fault…”
Keith squeezed his hands in return, concern for his boyfriend washing over him. “What do you mean, Lance?”
“You know what I mean.” His voice was surprisingly bitter. “I can never get things right. I’d be amazed if you even considered going on another date with me. I just keep messing up. I’m not a good paladin, I’m not a good friend, and I’m definitely not a good boyfriend.”
It hurt Keith to hear the usually bright, funny boy talk about himself that way. He grabbed his shoulders. “Lance, that’s not true.”
He shook him off. “It’s true and you know it. Nobody needs me, I’m expendable. And I don’t want to—”
“Lance!” Keith grabbed his shoulders again, leaning in so close that their lips were almost brushing against each other. “Shut the fuck up.” Then, he kissed him.
Lance immediately buried his fingers in Keith’s hair, letting out a little gasp as their lips met. Keith’s hands trailed down to the blue paladin’s hips. One hand rested on his thigh, while the other wrapped around his waist.
They pulled away after a few seconds, resting their foreheads together. “You’re not expendable, Lance,” Keith breathed, reaching up to cup his face in his hands. “You’re amazing. You're loving. You’re kind. You’re sweet. You’re funny. You’re important, to your family, and to me.
“I swear, Lance. We’re going to end this war, and we’ll do it with the Lance that’s the Paladin of the Red Lion. The Lance that’s always got my back. And the Lance who knows exactly who he is and what he’s got to offer.”
Lance played with his hair. “How am I supposed to one-up that speech? And who knew you were such a sap, Mullet? Speaking of which, your hair is really soft.” Keith snorted with laughter as he continued. “Keith… I know this is our first date, but I love you.”
“I love you too, Lance.” Raw emotion filled his voice. “With all my fucking heart.”
Lance pulled him into another kiss as the sun sank below the horizon.

Short Klance fanfic
Lances pov
“Alright everyone” Allura’s voice comes from the coms “ we have landed on planet exsplareus. Feel free to explore, me and Caran have to attend meeting with the planet’s inhabitants but it will only take a few vargas (hours)”
I step up from my place on my bed. I was just about to try and get a nap in, sense I haven’t gotten enough sleep because of the nightmares I had been having for a few months. But I know that will almost be impossible because of the thoughts swirling in my mind. I get dressed in better clothes then my pj’s including my white and blue long sleeve my normal green jacket and some blue jeans. I walk out my door just to immediately step back before I can run into the Keith that’s walking past my door. (Yes I wrote it like that on purpose) He also stops in his tracks and looks at me before muttering a quick “watch were your going” And heading off. I can’t help admiring as his mullet bounces slightly, reflecting the castle lights.
I decided to not pay too much attention to it and keep on my way. (I don’t know much of the castle’s anatomy so I’m just going to start off when he stepped outside sorry) I slowly step into what can be considered the planet’s grass. It’s a light turquoise color. I bend down and slowly wave my hand in the unusually soft surface.
I set out on a slow walk taking in the planet for all its glory. As I walk further away from the castle I start to see a few dips that come up later in the land like hills. In the distance to my right I see a few tree like shapes coming out of the ground. Only a tad of a shade darker turquoise then the grass.
I suddenly stumble on a little rock. Just to see a hill taller than the rest of the ones that I have seen. I start to climb the noticeably steeper ground. As I start to get to the top of the small grassy mountain I start to see a flower like things, slightly blowing in the nice breeze.
As I reach the top of the hill, I get a better look at them. The stem is a normal earth stem green that slowly fades into a dark purple that almost completely covers the leaves. The actual flower part is a striking black and white stripe pattern,it kinda reminds me of the zebras on earth.
I sit down criss cross to examine the plant further when I hear a small yelp that stops my train of thought. It came from my left side, it was soft but just loud enough to hear it. I lean to the side to try to see where the small sound came from.
I look just a bit over the top of the hill to see an almost fox like creature. It had the body at a fox but instead of bright orange it was more on the red side. Its tail was made up of small feathers that have small yellow oval spots with a black center, And small rabbit like ears.
It looked like he also stumbled over a small rock, and was trying to regain its balance. When it stood up fully it looked me straight in the eye. It had big forest green eyes and if you looked into them long enough you could probably get lost. I just stayed still not really knowing what to do. As we stared at each other the softer its eyes became. It slowly got closer to me, more comfortable but still weary.
I simultaneously started to raise my hand to the creature. Right before I come in contact with the soft looking fur. It’s ear twitch, right after it does I start to hear footsteps, becoming louder and louder by the second. The creature then proceeds to run away. I lean back to my original spot, looking to my right I see a very recognizable messy black mullet.
I look down from the top of his head to his eyes, he in return sends me a piercing gaze. “Hey” I said quietly, not wanting to disturb anymore wild life. His gaze softens and he looks down at all of the unusually colored flowers that lay peacefully perched on the soft surface of the grass.
“Hi” he said softly, bending down to sit beside me. I look forward again “whatcha doing all the way over here” I asked I had figured he would be training like he always does. Maybe he came to check on me, I smiled at the thought. “Just taking a brake” he answered grimly, obviously upset about something. Any smile I had before now gone. I stared at the sky, this planet did not have an atmosphere that changes the color of the sky so it was all just darkness and stars.
Keith let out a shaky breath. “You ok” I asked the slightly shorter boy, concern dripping from my words. “Y-yeah” he answered, a little to quick for my liking. Suddenly a small subtle tear slips down his face. He quickly wipes it away with a red sleeve just for a few more to come out of the other eye.
He quickly turned to the right, hoping to hide the tears. I slowly reach my hand out to him, slightly jumping when he flinched away from the touch. I usually know how to handle sad people, but this was not just anyone this was Keith. The boy who didn’t know how to handle his feelings. The boy can easily take down six galra soldiers on his own with just a simple knife. The boy who makes my heart flutter every time, every time he yells at me, every time he fights, every time he gets too grumpy and stops out of the room. Every single time, no matter how much I try to stop it I just can’t and it’s killing me.
He starts to stand up but before he can start to walk away I grab his wrist. He looks back at me with the most devastating tear stained expression I have ever seen and it breaks my heart.
I stand up and take a few step towards him. I wipe away a stray tear that slipped past the walls protecting his heart. I slowly caress the scar on his right cheek. “I’m sorry” he says quietly ”for what?” I ask “everything” he answers simply. “Hey, hey, hey it’s ok ….. I forgave you a long time ago.”
I bend down, slowly dragging him with me. He does as shown and drops to the ground, still wiping some of the other tears. I open my arms wide inviting him into a warm hug. He hesitates at first but then starts to move into the touch.
“It’s ok to cry you know” I tell him trying to make him feel more comfortable. He nods slowly “c-can we s-stay here…. for a-awhile” he asked trying to make his voice stop shaking. “Yeah I would like that”
(A few Vargas (hours) later)
“Hey guys…….were are Lance and Keith?
THE END!!!!!!!
Let’s just say pidge went out to find them, she did indeed find them but before she woke them up she took pictures for blackmailing and of course to give to Allura because she is shipping master. And she (pidge) will never admit that she actually thought they were pretty cute together
Anyway sorry far any spelling and/or grammar mistakes (it is currently 1:57)

Pidge / Reader | White Lion - Complete rewrite - Part I
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Rewrite of the fic I still have up on this blog!!
A/n: I'm back?? I think?
Words: 1221
Tumblr media
With insomnia nothing’s real, you learn that early on, everything’s far enough to be impossible to reach. Stuck inside an endless loop, a sort of unbreakable cycle. Back then; you were not ready for failure of any kind.
As a White Paladin of Voltron your sole mission was to protect other paladins and people around you. That’s all the White Paladin was, a glorified version of a healing pod, and you hated it. Everyone neglected you, not as a friend of course, but as a valuable fighter and defender of the universe. A medic was what you were made out to be, a brute by nature and a pacifist by force, all you could do was save, even if you tried to charge into battle you were quickly pushed off – back to the sidelines. Allura told you before; each Lion has a unique bond to a specific, and only one, Paladin. Sealed by fate, with no choice, you stayed.
The only one treating you fairly was your lover, Pidge. Both young prodigies, top students of Garrison, with a heart of gold and a particularly sharp and witty comebacks. Made for each other it seemed. They actually appreciated the help they got from you during and out of battle, that was, to your dismay, cut short. As war with Galra raged on, everyone forgot about any other struggles disregarding the threat across the universe.
Soon, Pidge began to share the view about you with other paladins, bit by bit, you realized that now, not a single soul believed in you being anything else but support — You were young, skillful in this specific subject, and rather weak at first glance, but you were more than that, more than what they made you out to be.
Often, on different restless nights, you were left wondering certain things. ‘Am I just a waste to them? Keith already said that, do others agree with him? What does Pidge think?’ All loose questions tied neatly with a string of paranoia and a hint of anxiety building up.  And like that, the overthinking pursued. No one even noticed you staying out of conversations, blindly following orders, no one noticed because it was making everything so much easier. Hunk asked you at times; “Hey Y/N.. you seem quiet lately, everything alright?” But just a few words were enough to shoo him away. “Yeah, don’t worry about me. I’m the White Paladin, remember?” You often said, but you never voiced the rest of this sentence you grew to mutter each day: “The one who is supposed to help.” And Hunk, begrudgingly, let go.
Keith outright believed you were too young and just a nuisance on the battlefield; you suspected he had something against you because you caught onto him and his feelings regarding Lance, as he, himself, wasn’t yet able to face those feelings. The thought that someone knew made him defensive. At least Lance was oblivious enough for this to not be too much of an awkward situation, from what all others knew, besides you it seemed, Lance and Keith hated each other. Or, at very least, strongly disliked each other's presence. At first, before you became a nuisance, your insomnia induced night walks roaming the Castle grounds were often guided by different team members, Shiro eased your mind by comforting, Hunk baked with you, Coran told stories of the White Paladins before you — not many, but still. Allura didn’t have to say a word, as you treasured her camaraderie dearly. Lance made a habit of beauty sleepovers, and even Keith offered you a sparring match from time to time, even though he still argued with others he disliked you greatly. At times like these, you often resided with Pidge. They had a bad habit of staying way up into the night to focus on their work, not from their insomnia, but from a severe case of workaholism.
You liked to walk into their room quietly, your own feet dragging you to their room as you hadn’t even registered. You walked all the way there, sitting down beside them as they worked away on their laptop. Without a word, passing out from exhaustion next to them, feeling safe enough to let go, even if it was only for an hour or two. Waking up tired, but not overwhelmingly lonely and disoriented, as their hand around yours grounded you like an anchor. But what times often do is change. Comfort made you weak enough to believe it’ll last forever, but with a heavy heart you realized — nothing does. Your life hit a rocky path, if it can still do that after getting dragged against your will into an intergalactic war with all hopes resting on you and other bunch of dysfunctional young adults, your insomnia got worse, getting pushed off to the sidelines too.
You were a Paladin, and with an actual bond with a Lion no less, so why were you stuck organizing missions with Allura as Coran talked your ear off? Was it stupid you were jealous of each successful mission, as they came back in glee and the thrill of winning yet another battle? Maybe. Did you still feel through it like an overwhelming blade stuck inside that twisted each time you realized you were just a backup plan? Yes. All you wanted was to prove yourself, you could be useful, really. But each time Shiro said that you’re enough, you felt as if the words hitting your ears were hollow. No one assisted your nightly walks anymore. Pidge was busy. Way more busy than you had ever seen them, there was no comfort in the galaxy you could give them for them to stop their work for even a second. Realizing that leaving them alone was the best thing you could give them, you did just that, and to your small heartbreak, you received no words addressing the fact, no complaints either. Getting as desperate as walking into the training room, in case Keith was staying up late too, you often were met with nothing. Sometimes, Keith was there, but most times your ears were met with sharp yet tired words; “You shouldn’t train this late, a medic shouldn't be half-dead each day.” And with a roll of your eyes, you often walked out.
Sometimes, you stood there a second longer, savoring the meeting, and letting the hatred built up as your mind was screaming: “I’m not just a medic! I’m a Paladin just like you!”. But in the end, you sat in that cold, and now, lonely, room of yours.
Your eyes scanning over the same wall you always faced. Tired gaze raking through the metal, dissecting it into pieces, logic you couldn’t grasp. At times like this, moments before shutting off from complete exhaustion, even you had no idea how to comprehend the drive that was pushing you at such times.
Maybe tomorrow, it’ll all make sense. Maybe tomorrow won’t be just a copy of today, which was just a copy of yesterday.
At least, tomorrow, you’ll finally go on a mission, after this whole time, which felt like eternity and a second, all too far to understand and grasp. With that thought, you had no idea what came next, as your exhausted body hit the bed.
You passed out.
Again.

"Fuck." Pidge hisses. "The ship's got an encryption software on it. Downloading any information off of it is going to scramble the information. It'll take days to decode."
"We can't wait days to go after him." Keith growls.
"I don't even know if we can wait for it to download." Hunk warns. The fire burns higher, inching its way up the body of the craft. "Pidge you gotta hurry."
"It's downloading! It won't go any faster!"
Keith slams the exit controls on his lion, and closes his helmet's face shield to switch over to using the suit's oxygen.
As the ramp extends out, Lance radios in. "Keith, what are you doing?" His tone is laced with nervous warning.
Keith pulls himself into the burning ship. "We don't need to download or decode if someone can just read the damn data, right?"
"While true, hypotheticals don't really help with our current situation." Pidge says with a bit of anxious exasperation. "I can't read Galran."
Keith finds Pidge in the cockpit, looking up at a small data screen. "I can."
"Keith, no." Lance breathes.
They don't have time for secrets and the hesitation that comes with keeping them. Fuck his history. Allura can strike him down so long as they get Shiro back.
Surprise! I drew/added one more artwork today! Here’s the last batch art from the fic.
Okay. So. The things I feel that the Humans-are-descended-from-Alteans plot would answer in canon:
+why Alteans look so Human,
+why a lion was hidden on Earth specifically,
+why Altea and Earth both have identifiable *lions* as fauna (headcanoning that lions were Altean pets/house guardians and that some were brought with them while fleeing),
+why Keith could sense the lion of Voltron in the desert,
+why all the locations around the lions glowed when they got near,
+why a crew of all humans were the chosen operators of Altean-made weaponry,
+why Lance got the Altean marks at the end of the show,
etc.
ALSO
Copy/pasting this rant I had about why I love it even more for this reincarnation AU:
Keith's current mom can absolutely still fit the canon version. It would make double sense that she didn't want the Galra to find the lion on Earth and why she left if the planet is crawling with [what she suspects is] the Galra's # 1 enemy (of which she's in love with) - to protect them. And with Keith being the child of a Galran and an Altean, it would make the storytelling symbolic side of my brain happy for him to be the reason they find the lions - the literal embodiment of unifying the two biggest enemies being the one to sense/wake the thing meant to bring peace? The person they thought started the whole Galra vs Altean divide being the evidence that they can in fact get along, and then living it himself? Uhg. Love. I wanted to write hints of it in the fic and even reveal it (I had several ideas of how and where), but it felt like too much to cram in. So, I'll probably just continue it with comic stips and doodles later.

What , And how did you start pairing lotura, And Plance .?
Ooooh boy am I excited to answer this!!! This is going to be a long answer, hope you don't mind! Because I have some specific memories about these two ships, particularly lotura, that I would absolutely love to share with you!
Tumblr media
Prepare for a long read! Hehe
Starting with lotura, when season 3 came out and Lotor made his debut, of course I was all 👀👀👀 Because that day something awoke in 19 year old me that I didn't realize could ever be awoken lol. And I wish I could remember exactly what my reaction was to his cat-and-mouse chase with Allura in the episode "The Hunted", but at the time I must not have considered the idea of them ever going in the direction of a romance. Looking back now though, how could I have been so blind??! That chase scene is HOT. I mean just look at them!!! Look at Lotor especially woah mama 😳
Tumblr media
Season 4 was mediocre to me at the time, I will confess, for a lot of different reasons. But then season 5, man... SEASON 5!!!! I remember it was March 3rd, 2018. I wasn't keeping up with the show anymore, but I just so happened to see an article online that said season 5 had been released the day before on Netflix. I told my sister and we decided, "eh, let's watch at least the first episode."
And we watched the first episode, alright. And then another, and then another and another until we watched all six episodes in one sitting. We were both blown away! Lotor... Allura... together???? 😲
Tumblr media
Their adventures, their chemistry, their clear attraction to one another... I was OBSESSED!!! I shipped them hardcore after that. They were and are still my #1 OTP, and it's because of them that I really tried to work hard and improve my art! I wanted to draw them all the time, making mini comics and AUs, and while their tragic ending actually left me in tears and I was upset for a really long time, I can now say that I have been able to heal and move on from it--eh, mostly anyway, haha.
It still hurts, but 5 years later I feel that I've matured and come to a greater understanding and acceptance. I have come to really appreciate how perfect they are for each other, both aesthetically of course (cuz lookit that sexual dimorphism babeyyy) as well as the many, many things they have in common. I have also come to appreciate their flaws, their imperfections, and the mistakes they made regarding each other and their relationship. They may have gotten a sad ending, but they were still truly equals in every way. It's just beautiful, and my love for them now is stronger than ever :')
Tumblr media
For Lance and Pidge on the other hand, it's not quite as clear as when I started shipping them! I remember rolling my eyes at Lance and Allura's first meeting, like "okay Lance is one of THESE guys, here we go 🙄"
Other than that I didn't really ship Lance or Pidge with anyone! If I'm recalling correctly, I don't think it wasn't until after season 6 that I started shipping them together. I remember reading metas and analyses of their relationship that people were making in anticipation for season 7's release, and the more I thought about it, the more I started to really like the idea of Lance and Pidge getting together! And there are definitely subtle hints throughout the earlier seasons of Pidge's feelings for Lance, as well as their fun chemistry with one another, like the episode "Space Mall"!
Tumblr media
The hints are not so subtle to me now, but back then it wasn't until I watched season 7 that I actually became hopeful that they could be a couple! I especially loved the moments when Pidge indirectly called Lance "cute, in a creepy, hideous sort of way" lol, and when Lance become very protective over Pidge in such a way that I don't think we ever saw him react before! I was honestly taken aback by that moment!
Tumblr media
And again, their ending was definitely less than satisfactory, particularly Lance's ending (still hate it with a passion), but just like with Lotura's relationship, I have also come to appreciate many things about Plance's relationship today. While Lotor and Allura have so much in common and are able to reach an understanding with each other that they can't with anyone else, it would seem at first that Pidge and Lance are far too different to be compatible. And it is true that they are very different, but for one, that can be a good thing! The foundations of some relationships are built off of their differences. It can make someone more compassionate and more open-minded when they have a willingness to accept and appreciate the differences they have with their partner, and a willingness to take a genuine interest in the things that their partner is passionate about, even if they don't completely understand.
And two, at the same time, Pidge and Lance DO have things in common! They both love their families, both have a stronger connection to Earth compared to the other paladins, and they are able to bond with one another over fun pastimes such as video games! How cute is that??!
Tumblr media
And just like with Lotor and Allura, I also love Pidge and Lance for their flaws. It did take me a while to come around to Lance, because while he has his funny moments and one-liners, I also found him very annoying at times lol. But I think the fact that he can be really annoying honestly makes him the most realistic character in Voltron. Not necessarily the most relatable, at least not for me, but definitely the most human! Because there are people in our real lives that we love and cherish deeply, but they absolutely have their moments where you go, "ugh, you're so annoying and it really frustrates me when you act this way" but we still wouldn't trade them for the world 🥰
And just to draw one last comparison between Lotura and Plance, I especially LOVE how incredibly different the two pairings are even from each other! To me, Lotor and Allura are sexy and passionate, while Pidge and Lance are pure and fun! They're all so unique and special in their own ways, and they bring so much to the table, both for their characters and for their relationships.
I can't help but write essays every time I get asks, I'm so sorry lol 😭 There's so much more I could say about these guys, but I think I'd better stop here haha! I had a lot of fun writing about Lotura and Plance, and I hope you had just as much fun reading this! I really love these characters a lot. I'm so incredibly grateful that they exist, even if in the form of fiction, and I'm even MORE grateful that my love for them has continued to grow over the years. Thank you so much for the ask!!!! 💖💜💙💚
Tumblr media
Oh and one last thing: we were robbed of a lot of different potential interactions with a lot of different characters, but I have to say it would have been fun to see more of Lotor and Lance interacting with each other! Lance was always acting out due to his jealousy, while Lotor on the other hand mostly just ignored him lol.

-> the healing pods are a very interesting concept. Like, what if you get some ailment that it doesn’t recognize?? Do you just die??
-> genuinely felt so bad for Not Yue. Allura. Allura when they had to remove her father’s memory thing. Like yeah I know the castle was corrupted or wtv but bro imagine. Your entire race is dead. your mom, who you previously knew alive is now most likely dead. You already had to go through losing your father once, and now you have to lose him again. Any sliver of hope you had of staying connected with him is gone, because the entirety of his essence is now gone. She’s stronger than me, I would have never given him up so easily. I admire that about her.
->I also made the horrible mistake of going on ao3 after
yk for gits and shiggles… and when I go to a new fandom I always search by hits to see the classics first yk
WHY are you guys so 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝓴𝔂… I genuinely shed a tear what. I was flabbergasted to say the least.
On that note the top 23 were about redguy/blueguy getting smoochy-smoochy with each other so I guess that should be a hint as to what you guys like
->the description of the show says the robot (voltron) is operated by “five teenagers” but that shiro guy has to be AT LEAST 25. He is pushing 30 you can’t convince me otherwise.
->for now it’s kinda giving atla except the war is intergalactic and lasted 10,000 years instead of 100.
->all the other characters seem to have a pretty clear background, but we haven’t yet heard about Keith’s backstory, so I want to know (I know now, this was my initial thought)
->shiros backstory/ptsd is very interesting, lots of angst possibilities i see
-> I had an inkling that pidge was…genderly different. (At first I thought she was transmasc)
Post S2
-> WHERE is my man. Where did he go.
Tumblr media
-> Pookie please come back. Now. It’s not a suggestion.
->KEITH BACKSTORY I PREDICTED THEY WERE GONNA SHOW US YAY I LOVE BEING RIGHT
-> he’s galra! Soooo much whump opportunity
-> the whole “Allura doesn’t hate you she’s just a little upset to find out ur part of the race that killed off her entire peoples and family and okay maybe she does hate you” scene with keith and hunk is really giving that scene in atla: the southern raiders where zuko thinks katara hates him and sokka reassures him (badly) while he was just trying to get laid w suki.
Tumblr media
->^ that’s gay
-> the aliens they met are going to be very important, aren’t they?
Tumblr media
->^ oohhh so this is where the “langst” stuff comes from? he’s just kinda insecure i think, but it can’t possibly just be this episode that has that tag so high, unless flanderization is just really popular with you guys, but already suspect that unfortunately
Tumblr media
->^Allura high key ate with this
->the “Blade of Marmora” people are definitely gonna be important later
-> the mall episode was soooo fun! fav s2 episode for sure!
Tumblr media
->^gay. It’s literally giving “two bros chillin in a hot tub. five feet apart cus they’re not gay”
-> I know of 2 ships now. klance and allurance. I only see the former though, the latter seems more like a running gag/unrequited crush thing (for now i suppose)
-> Coran is an icon. I love that whimsical man. he’s beekeeping age per say.
-> I need pidge to find her brother and father man I feel so bad for her PLEASE DOBT TELL ME THEYRE DEAD ILL LITERALLY DIE.
-> pidge is sooooo cool i love her so much she’s literally the pookiest of the pookies
-> Who tf is gonna be the black paladin now. Keith sure as hell isn’t ready for that. maybe Allura?? Cus yk she kinda already leads them a little bit
These are thoughts I had compiled over a while now. I am on S5E3 as of now (07/03/24) but I wanted to document my thoughts either way. I will post on the tag “laura’s first vld”

@sockdooe, I could genuinely write up multiple essays about how poorly a lot of the general relationship-building and maintaining is handled in this show.
There are some truly excellent, stand-out moments between the main cast and the aliens they encounter, like Shay and the Balmerans, and even Slav, and the main cast and the Holts, the Blades, and members of the Garrison.
Shiro and Pidge's older brother-little sister relationship in the early episodes will forever be dear to my heart,
Tumblr media Tumblr media
to the point that I cherish even the crumbs we get in the final seasons.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The banter between Shiro and Allura in Collection and Extraction is top-notch.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Not to mention everything else about their relationship when it's acknowledged.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Shiro and Keith have their deep, abiding bond.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And Hunk has amazing moments with darned near everyone, because he's Hunk.
Tumblr media
But, yes, so many inter-team and beyond relationships were established, just to be tossed away.
Where's the resolution for Lance's failed attempt to connect with Shiro in the Astral Plane? Why did Shiro start riding in the Green Lion with Pidge on the journey back to Earth after so much significance was given to the literally death-defying depths of his and Keith's devotion to each other? Why set up Acxa having a thing for Keith and Keith going out of his way to save her,
Tumblr media
only to do nothing further with their relationship and later hint at a romance between Acxa and Veronica?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Have a bonus really awkward closeup of Shiro from that episode, as if he isn't disrespected enough in this grueling nightmare of a season:
Tumblr media
It looks like they tried to make him white.(πーπ) )
Shiro and Hunk barely talk to each other, despite being the support pillars of Voltron, and its voices of reason. You have two half-Galra main characters, and they- according to what I've read- never have a single conversation? But, we can do a poor man's recreation of Shiro's confrontation with Zarkon in the Astral Plane, only with Keith, this time, so it's "better" because it's one Galra Paladin calling out the other as unworthy, even though said Paladins have absolutely no prior history with or emotional connection to each other and have done nothing between them to earn this moment.
Why did the Real Shiro and Matt never interact with each other at all after Shiro sacrificed himself to save Matt's life?
The majority of this can be explained by the simple fact that somebody in charge hated Shiro, and didn't want to have to do anything with him, anymore. The rest of it is just... sheer, bewildering, aggravating beyond all comprehension incompetence.

Listen, I don't care how long ago the final season of Voltron was aired, I don't care if anyone is still in the Voltron fandom. I will ALWAYS be pressed over how they did these characters SO dirty.
First off, the final episode of the series was such a damn copout. Ending the series with Allura dying to 'save the multiverse' and having the paladins forgive Honerva? After everything she had done in the 8 seasons leading up to this? After she tore apart the same multiverse she destroyed because the one timeline she found where Lotor knew she was a fucking liar? Make it make so much sense Dreamworks.
And then the 10 years later shit. Shiro had a wedding. Okay, yeah, he got out of the Garrison and settled down. He should, after all he had been through. I bet dying and being stuck in Black for months would lead to some introspective work. But killing Adam so there was no gay relationships, and then to pair him with a character who had like, what? Two lines in the full series, and we saw Shiro interact with once, as a Captain and crew setting? No build up, no hints during the full season?
Don't get me wrong. If the writers wanted to give Shiro the chance to shed everything from his past life, then by all means, they had the right to. But the way they did it was not only poorly written, but it also left those who had been hoping to FINALY see Shiro interact with his partner, that had been teased at outside of the show.
Hunk is another one I had a big problem with. As a plus size person, who felt like she was just that 'fat best friend' during the airing of the final season, I related to Hunk. I loved how he was more than the foodie. He's an engineer, he's smart. He matches Pidge in intellect. He's kind, he's brave despite his anxiety. He had nausea a lot. He's fleshed out, he's more than fat and food jokes.
And they took that all away, to make him Gordan Ramsey of space. They took 8 seasons of character arcs to make him that. A fucking fat person likes food joke. Once again, I wouldn't have had a problem if that wouldn't have been it. Make it a soup kitchen for those displaced during the Empires rule. Make him donate food to needy planets. Hell, have him travel with Keith, giving food to the planets they go to for help. Just, something that acknowledges Hunks generous nature, his kindness. Not Food Wars.
Speaking of Keith, I found that while I expected his ending to be similar to what it was, I didn't have any real emotion about it. He was a displaced child, who was, from what we can assume about what little we really know about his childhood, outside of him meeting Shiro and how his parents met. He always felt like he didn't belong, with the Paladins, and struggled being leader because he didn't feel like he lived up to Shiro's expectation or his legacy after he died.
So Keith teaming up with Lotor's generals to basically continue what Voltron did makes sense, I guess. But, I would have loved to see something else. If anyone deserves to settle down, aside from Shiro, I think it would be Keith. I can see him as the type of person to give a child, either adopted or biological, the childhood he wished he had.
Pidge's end is as to be expected. She's working with her parents and her brother, working for the Garrison. Out of all the characters, I honestly think Pidge had the least amount of true character arks. She had the moment in season 1 or 2 when she wanted to ditch Voltron to find her brother, and Keith called her out. And when she bonded with Green in season one on Olkyn. But once she found Matt and Sam, Pidge had stayed consistent in her behavior and beliefs till the end of the show. She, like Hunk, was a stereotype. She was the nerdy, smart friend, the guy in the chair.
I would have loved to see her do something with botany, like her mother. Something that ties her back to Green. Because even though the Lion is gone, the bond and the respect she gained would have still been there. So for her to just immediately go back to that tech guy was a disservice.
Lance's and Lotor's endings are by far the ones I hated the most. With Lance, there was NO reason that Lance had to become a fucking farmer. After everything that happened to him during the season, for him to immediately quit was ill planned and just a bad move. If they wanted to write Allura out at the end of the series, then sure. Lance steps back to grieve, starts replanting the flowers on New Altea in honor of her.
But Lance has so much more potential than. Make him a pilot, make him a teacher. Hell, pull a Keith and have him volunteer around the planets. Anything that would show off his pride in himself, and to she Allura that he would live his life for her, because she died saving it. Yeah, he can keep a cabin close or in the field, so he always has a memory of her, but he needs something else.
The final season with Lotor was just dumb. The writing had set him up as this exiled prince, who never wanted to be like his father, who watched him blow up a planet that Lotor had spent YEARS on, because his son pissed him off. Lotor killed his father, was conspiring against Haggar, wanted to study Altean alchemy with Allura. He was finally going to learn about his mother's people from those who actually knew her.
And then they make him just like Zarkon.
I. Hate. That they made that planet of Alteans, and Lotor was harvesting them for quintessence. I get they were setting it up for Haggar to use them as pilot in the final season. But there were SO many other ways to do that with a similar affect.
Especially considering the fact that those people had been in hiding since Altea exploded, and Lotor was a fucking baby then. Like...have Haggar keep them hidden instead? It would have made more fucking sense. She still felt a sliver of a connection, despite not knowing why because she lost her memory.
Lotor grew up wishing he could know more about his other side, and having no one to ask about it, because no information remained after the race died. So to satisfy his curiosity, he started studying other cultures, other planets so he could compare. Maybe he'll find something similar to Altea, and can guess from that.
And then, wow, there are Alteans left. And they have Voltron, isn't that so great? But wait, my father want's the Black Lion, and his witch is acting shady. That's odd, I wonder what that's about?
Holy crap, she's been hiding more Alteans for the past 10,000 years, and they have no idea what's been happening outside of their planet. And even more holy crap, she's been harvesting them so they don't get to powerful, and so she can sap up their power for herself. Why didn't anyone know about this?
Then continue on, with Lotor eventually teaming up with the Alteans and liberating them, but obviously they don't all go, because they don't trust him (Galra, duh.) And the ship that is carrying them all is attacked, and the ship explodes, or something. The Alteans get angry and Haggar, now starting to remember and realizes who she is, uses this to her advantage, and now boom, we have the pilots in season 8.
And this way, if you want to keep Keith and Krolia finding the Alteans, you have it. If you want Romelle, you have it. If you want more Alteans living with the Paladins, or at least have Allura and Coran meet them, you have. And of course, Lotor doesn't die. And for his ending, have him and Keith work together. Have him travel the stars, studying the different planets. Have him become a scholar, a archivist, a librarying. Anything! The possibilities are endless.
Now, on to Allura. To be completely honest, and you can burn me for this, I never really loved Allura. It wasn't really anything specific I didn't like, I just didn't grow any strong attachments to her as a character. I felt bad for her, sure. But nothing much outside of that.
But I do believe that she deserved a better ending. Even if she does still die in the end, she shouldn't have had to bounce from guy to guy to hide grief, because that shit was still there. She should have been allowed to continue her relationship with Lotor, because that was cute damn it.
It wasn't fair for her to have been in a relationship for what, a month before she died? It sure as shit wasn't fair to Lance, who had spent the whole series chasing after her, to get her, and see her die directly after. Not cool.
And if the whole reason they did it was to stop Klance, or what the fuck ever people believe they did it, pull a Curtis, give Keith someone else. He meets someone after Allura dies, he settles down, or continues with his red cross in space shtick. Or have him stay single, because some people just don't want a relationship. It doesn't matter because people would have written them together in fanfic anyway.
And last, but certainly not least, Coran.
Coran, the gorgeous man, was done so dirty, it's not even funny. To start from the top, he was the only main cast who didn't get to say goodbye to Allura at the end, and is the sole Altean left who remembers Altea. What the fuck.
Even if they are making New Altea, it's not the same. He lost his child, the only other person who understood the grief of loosing a whole PLANET. Family, friends, homes, graves, photos, memories. Gone. History destroyed, never to truly be brought back. Anything that Coran forgets is gone. Well and truly gone, because the Castleship would have possibly had records still, but that was destroyed when Lotor died.
He doesn't have her crown anymore, because the crystal is in Shiro's prosthetic, he doesn't have the ship, he doesn't have the Lions. All he has are the Paladins, and the mice. And a handful of Alteans who never were on Altea, and probably don't know all the customs he does, because of the 10,000 years difference. That's a pretty shitty ending.
So, long story long, my ending.
Adam doesn't die. He is in the piolet accident, but survives by a miracle. He's in the med bay for the entirety of the final two season, and wakes up during the final stretch of season 8. The whole time, before they leave for space, Shiro has flashbacks to times spent with Adam, and we see Shiro have regrets for going into space. He talks to Keith about retiring after everything is over.
Either Lotor and Allura, or they end things in space and Lance and Allura go on their date (I personally would rute for Lotor and Allura, the are so cute) and get their heartfelt scene, foreshadowing the end of the series.
Hunk reunites with his family, and he watches the people of the camps struggle to get back on their feet, and Hunk help them out however he can. We get a scene of him watching a local soup kitchen that had been swamped with people, and Hunk rolls up his sleeves, make a remark bout cooking with less/weirder items, and knock the people in the soup kitchen off their feet with is food. A shot of him watching everyone eat, and Hunk feels pride, in watching the affects of his food. It's different than feeding his friends, and even different than the parades and the dinners planets through Voltron.
Pidge, who is still grounded for sneaking off to space, spends time in the greenhouse with her mom, watching her work. It reminds her of Reiner, and makes her miss Okyry. She mentions Green and nature to her mom, and her mom jokes back about her finally starting to get into nature. They bond over plants, and Pidge grows a little bit fonder to grass and dirt.
Them space time, series progresses, OMG Haggar is sending mechas after us, and Alteans are the piolets. OMG x2, the piolets are dying , what is happening. Allura, what are you doing with that symbiot, that literally just killed that piolet?
Then, the end.
The multiverse is falling apart, Haggar is going to destroy everything. What do we do?
Lotor, in a desperate final act, confronts Haggar as his mother, finally acknowledging that yes, the woman who he had despised his whole life is he mother. He finally speaks to her as his mother... and denounces her.
Honerva is heartbroken. She curses him, swears that if he will not be her son, then there will be no world period. In retaliation, just like he had his father, Lotor lunges forward, and kills Honerva. As she dies, he cradles her in his arms, and listens as she mumbles about her beautiful son, before finally passing on.
But the events do not end there, because time and space is unraveling apart. They can't fix it, only Allura has an idea, and she's crying. She tells them, and despite everyone's protests, they know what must be done. She says her goodbyes, parting with a kiss to Lotor/Lance, strong hugs to the other Paladins and then...
She turns to Coran, who despite his quietness, has been sobbing the whole time. He pulls her into a hug, face pressed into her curly white hair, breathing in the flower she adored so much, and says their finally goodbyes.
The universe is saved, and everyone grieves a tragic loss. They start traveling back to earth, the Paladins and Coran and Lotor keeping to themselves for the most part, Lance/Lotor barely making it from their room most days, when they come across an alert. A planet that had not been in the charted maps they had, and certainly not in the area they had traveled mear days ago.
Upon closer looking, it looks almost exactly like...Altea.
With the last of her quintessence, Allura had somehow made a new Altea for Coran and the other Alteans to live. Coran breaks down upon seeing a field of flowers that smell like his princess, and imminently starts planning for a tribute for her, right on the top of the hill facing out towards the flowers.
Time skip follows, and Adam waeks up, Shiro asleep at his bedside. Adam, with such slow, shaky movements, wakes up Shiro, and the two finally meet again after years of being apart. Shiro imminently proposes on the spot, not baring to loose the man he loves again.
Keith starts traveling the plants, heling out where he can. The remaining Marmora's help him, tending to villages or injured people, when Hunk asks if he can come too. He wants to help, and he's smart, and strong. And Keith mentions that the best thing these people need is a warm meal, and there's no one who knows that better tank Hunk. So they travel, heling the planets, meeting more people, bonding (Because yeah! Hunk and Keith are the best!)
Pidge is on Altea, helping Lance and Coran with setting up the Alteans. Her electronic skills are unmatched, and she takes this time to pick a couple samples for her mom. Lance catches her, and offers to take her around the fields, and they do. It's peaceful, the sun setting and breeze. The best sunset she'd seen since before Voltron, in her opinion.
Lotor slowly opens back up to the others, grief pushing him away from everyone. Coran is the first he goes to, asking the older man about Allura, and Altea, anything to keep is mind off his loss. Coran indulges him, going on about the old Castel (which still blows up some how, just cant think of it now) and Lotor listens like his life depends on it. After everything is set up on new Altea, Coran askes him to become and advisor, which Lotor accepts.
Then we go to the final scene, which is a couple years in the future. Lance is teaching fighter piolet classes at the Garrison, Shiro is happily married, Keith and Hunk are still red crossing it up in space, Pidge is a Botanists and Cyber Scientist (or whatever the hell she is) and freelances across the universe, and Coran and Lotor are co-advisors for new Altea with Romelle as one in training, which Lotor writing a full, in depth history of the Galran war and Altean history. Nothing will be lost again.
They are at dinner, under Allura's statue, it's growing dark. They finish, they have drinks, and go to bed. Lance wakes up first, in a symbolism for the first episode, him finding his lion first. The others follow, and soon, they are under Allura's statue once again. The lions are all active, which they haven't been since they saved the multiverse. The group watches the Lions stand, and roar, before a shimmering blue figure fades into existence. Allura. She doesn't see them, because she's only there for the Lions, or so the others think. As the Lions start flying into the sky, she turns around, waiving slowly to the Paladins and others, a smile on her face, before fading.
A camera shot of the group on the ground, like the series, zooming out as they all watch the Lions leave, for the final time feeling the connection of Voltron, before the Lions fly through the galaxy, into a new one, in the shape of a woman curled into a ball.
End of series.
Okay, its 6:30 now, I'm going to bed

Pidge dreams of a swamp. She wakes up hot and sweaty and miserable. She’s sticky, all over, and especially below the waist. The air smells of iron.
“Oh, fuck,” she mutters, and bursts into tears.
She knew this was coming. She’s fifteen — beyond a late bloomer, really — but some part of her hoped she would hold off on it. Forever, maybe.
Or at least until she’s with her mama again.
She drags herself upright, gagging at the feeling of wet sheets smearing on her bare legs. The smell of blood is almost overwhelming (Lance not moving behind them blasted already barely woke up blood everywhere whole room smells nothing she can do Hunk knocked out covering her six information is vital they can’t pull back nothing she can do Keith scratched to hell lightyears away Red yelling nothing she can do Allura dragged away by the Galra they’re hurting her on the way own splitting the skin nothing she can do her team her friends her family broken and hurting nothing she can do never anything she can do). She shoves her face into her knees, trying to muffle her cries, but they burst out of her, rough and raw and scared and mourning. She chokes on her own sobs, wailing, everything hitting her at once.
Panic that is not her own pushes at the back of her mind, head butting her brain.
Cub, the Green Lion says, distressed. Breathe, cub. Please.
“I want my mom,” Pidge wails. “She’s supposed to be here. She’s supposed to be here!”
I know you do. The Green Lion’s tone is gentler, this time. Less prodding, more…resigned, almost. Pained. I know, Kathleen.
Pidge’s Lion tries to placate her, flooding her brain with comfort and love, but Pidge can feel herself getting hysterical, feel her breathing getting short.
“I wanna go home, I wanna go home, I wanna go home —”
“Pidge?”
The door creaks loudly, making Pidge flinch, and faint light shines into the room. The smell of juniberries pierces through the pungent smell of blood. A soft hand rests on the back of her tangled hair, brushing through the knots.
“Oh, Katie,” Allura sighs. She slides her hand down to Pidge’s shoulder and pulls her close, squeezing her gently. Pidge goes willingly — Allura isn’t her mother, and she’s nothing like her mother, but Allura is sweet and kind and knows everything, and Pidge needs that right now.
“Just take some time, asteraki. We’ll figure it out soon.”
Pidge leans into it. Her lower stomach aches, constantly, and her eyes sting. She still feels sticky and gross. She needs to comfort. She cries until she doesn’t think she can anymore.
“Okay,” Allura says gently, God knows how long later. “Come on up, okay? Let’s go to the washroom. I’ll draw a bath.”
Pidge drags herself out of the bed, stumbling after her. Allura tests the water three times, making sure it’s perfect, and dumps in way too many bubbles. She helps Pidge out of her ruined bottoms, guiding her into the bath. She carefully rubs shampoo into Pidge’s hair, rubbing out the pain in her roots, combing out the tangles.
She says nothing for hours, just quietly helping Pidge put herself back together. She drains the bath when it goes lukewarm, laying out fresh clothes. She strips the sheets, tossing them in a random hamper, and turns over clean ones, guiding Pidge into them.
“Move over,” she says, when Pidge settles into the middle. She glances at Allura in mild surprise, too tired to summon up something more verbal, but complies. To her further surprise Allura scoots in after her, half-reclining against the headboard. She gently tugs Pidge towards her until she gets the hint, leaning against Allura’s chest, gripping her shirt. Allura’s hands slide into her hair again, twisting the wet curls.
“My mom prepared me for my period,” Pidge says quietly.
Allura hums, gesturing for Pidge to continue.
“She told me what supplies to use, what to expect. Very scientific, my mom. But it was just — I don’t know. I wanted her to be there. I wanted to talk to her about it, when it happened.”
“My experience was similar,” Allura says quietly. “I had a — list of letters, from my mother. She knew she was ill, that she wasn’t going to be there for long, so she wrote a series of letters for me for various milestones. I had one for my first period, but it wasn’t…the same.”
Pidge squeezes her hand.
“This no mom shit sucks.”
Allura snorts. “It does.”
Allura keeps her hands clutched with Pidge’s. She holds her tightly, and Pidge doesn’t feel good, but she feels — better.
Big sisters make everythint better, Pidge is learning.

I recently discovered your stories and quickly became a fan. I finished the first one yesterday and caught up with the second today—love them both. With the introduction of the powers the Paladins are now using, I was wondering how the lion swap will be affected, if at all?
I’ve seen mixed opinions about the swap, but as someone who grew up loving the original series from the ’80s and the 2011 Nicktoons series, Keith will always be Black, Lance will always be Red, and Allura will always be Blue to me. Will the powers swap with the lions, or will they just keep what they already have?
Thanks for your time and for sharing these awesome stories! Ps, What are you thinking ship-wise? You already have Adam/Shiro and Hunk/Shay and I know in previous posts you have said you like Kallura. I'm hoping you do end up going that route because we need more good multichapter Kallura stories, and having already stated my love for the original shows, they have always been the canon couple to me. But if that's not the direction you want to go that's fine as well. Hope to get an answer unless it is too spoilery to tell in which case that is fine.
Hello!
-
The powers the paladins have aren't magical or anything - they're alchemy. It's something to be learned, although the reason they can even perform Altean alchemy is due to their bonds with their Lions. As such if/when the Lion Swap happens, it depends on their bonds with their Lions on if they can use that Lion's alchemy.
As for the Lion Swap itself, I won't spoil much, but it's only sort of going to happen. I also watched 80s Voltron and read the comics, although it was after the DreamWorks adaptation, and adore their setup and the roster.
However, the characters in this rewrite are different to the source material.
Pidge is biologically female rather than male, Hunk is sweet rather than angry, Shiro is a pillar of wisdom rather than comedic, Keith struggles to become a leader rather than already being one, Lance is more goofy than sarcastic and arrogant, Allura is more fierce and proactive, and Coran is a complete goofball (love him forever though).
The Paladin-Lion bond does rely on the Paladin's characters. Also, the arcs each character goes through is highly subject to change, specifically Lance's, and I don't plan on making Shiro a complete bystander.
The Lion Swap will happen, but the way I plan to use it will be different from VLD. Some won't change, others will.
As for ships...
I only have three ships planned at the moment: Adam/Shiro, Hunk/Shay, and Keith/Allura.
Kallura also has my heart, so you get no judgement from me! There won't be much of Kallura until later on, when both Keith and Allura are comfortable and relaxed enough to even begin to think about romance, and because this story is mostly gen, but it will happen.
(I've already warned many that Klance will not happen, so if you're reading this and was expecting Klance, sorry not sorry.)
I've planned all the chapters in this story, and I don't plan on any ships other than the three listed. There may be hints and such, but nothing concrete.
-
Thanks for the ask!

Hi people, so I'm back in the brainrot fandom known as Transformers Prime (Tfp). .. I'm also up for crossovers.
As such I present to you: Jackson 'Jack' Darby as Lance McClain, Blue Paladin of Voltron AU.
After the Autobots returned to Cybertron, Jack tries to retain that sense of Space and adventure, yearning to meet them again. Agent Walter gets him into the Garrison, requiring a fake ID if he doesn't want them to realise he's a special case - which he doesn't want. Though he wonders how Iverson would react to knowing his background when 'the only reason he was admitted into fighter jet was because the best pilot in their class had a disciplinary issue and flunked out'. Yes, he's got the line down pat, the man says it often enough.
He thought the alien war had ended with the Autobots and Deceptions; apparently he was mistaken. Where before it was cybertronic life forms fighting over resources (mostly), there was a civil war that dragged out against what was effectively furrys, the Galra were even older than the feud back on earth and far beyond the level of 'war' as he's known it to exist... Depends if they have a deity of destruction capable of terra-forming a planet and appearing as earth titans. They got the mystery aspect already, with Voltron and quintessence.
He could've hoped for a better team though. Keith sometimes reminded him of Miko, but at least she was more annoying than stabbing on contact. Shirt had his work and trauma cut out for him, at least that's something he knows how to handle from watching Arcee, Ratchet and Optimus. He honestly can't handle Allura though -- was royalty like this? He'd been a child -teen- soldier, but the rest of them had been cadets with no prior exposure and now they're all with shallow support systems to fall back on (nevermind the whole Holt-fiasco Pidge has going on.)
....
It just so happens that Allura found Cybertron and decided to propose an alliance. Lance debated wether he should tell them the Galra and Lions (why were they both feline?) weren't the only visitors earth had and decides it's high-time he tells them he's friends with them, but he ends up getting shot down for 'bad/ inappropriate jokes'. He raises his hands in the air, acquiescing to their dismissive reaction since he's far more eager to meet Arcee, Bee, Bulkhead, Ratchet and more than to correct their opinion.
Lance goes to meet them in classic clothes, without his armor, since he 'doesn't want to come off as aggressive' unlike the rest who, come what he may hint at, still follow Altea's thousands of years old data on their races society - slaves, war, etc. Something he knows best will not be received well. At all. He's also partially expecting Allura or one of the others, bets on Pidge, to go on about their Hierarchy system and slavery - which, he gets it, honestly, knowing her own situation, but that'll rather serve to sever any prospective alliance than 'revolutionize their society'. So it's gonna be bad, as the Cybertronians have technology surpassing even the Galras on kriffing space bridges. Shame too, as it would stop the overreliance on Allura to input coordinates and their allies could use it as well to offer assistance in a snap.
So when they enter Cybertrons gravitational pull Lance is the only one not up-to-snuff, dressed in his old clothes who were newly synthesized by the Castle's repair systems. Arcee is bound to get a visual alert on the similarities, at least. If she's not too busy to meet him. Ratchet should be there though, he'd received the transmission. But he hopes to see the femme again. He'd missed her and their rides around Nevada a lot. He'd been her charge, she'd seen most of his wardrobe in the span of -give or take- 5 years and thus bound to recognize him from any angle. She was there, probably as backup or guard and, as while Voltron's heads were talking politics -thank Primus Wheeljack's not here for that- they were subtly scanned for weapons and threats. He kept an eye on her, which her optics picked up on and when she turned to Lance she stared. For a good few doboshes neither blinked, before a hopeful expression grew on her face. Thank Primus she recognized him! Actually, so did Bumblebee and Bulkhead who, while not as quick to notice as Arcee, did have a memory file pop up at the sound of his voice: It was a done deal when he told Pidge off and Keith to stop running off, the same way he'd do with Miko when she (again) ran straight into blaster fire or portals.
If only she could see him now, she'd see the irony of it.
Ratchet was surprised at the foreign contact before he was pleased, an offer for an alliance to stop a tyranny would be the distraction some of them needed and a fresh start for Cybertrons dark past. Then he was slightly concerned as they came to meet them with weapons, stating they themselves are armed. Also, what are humans doing here?? What is the Altean expecting of them, not lose an arm? Be legendary warriors like Optimus?? Hah! They were friendly compared to other species in their galaxy, having disengaged the automatic target system for their blasters!! When the princess came into the picture, proudly stating that they were aware of the risks and willing to fight to the death for their cause he was so fragging pissed at her he wished he had a larger exhaust pipe to blow off steam.
"By the Allspark- have you no shame in sending a species not even into adulthood to fight your war at the front lines!?"
"Jack, I thought you were more responsible than that." Arcee starts. Ratchet momentarily lags, blinking his optics at the human clad in a dark blue turtleneck and pants. He barely looks like he's aged.. oh, don't tell him Miko is hiding somewhere too.
"I am. You're looking at the one and only multi-talented sniper of Voltron." He looked at Bumblebee whilst his old guardian was still looking pissed but at least she was joining Ratchet on grilling Allura instead of his morals. The femme had always been his inspiration for angry power-walks and she proved that, stomping so close he worried she'd step on her before letting all of Cybertrons hear her rage.
Wisely, from.experience, he opts out of listening to that and focuses on the scout "...Yeah, it really helped that you taught us some of your tricks as a scout way back then. Didn't think I'd need it after we... thank Primus for that, really."
The yellow cameron let out a string of beeps, not using his radio. Perhaps for old time's sake, he's feeling nostalgic too, seeing them again. The high chirps and deep rumble takes him longer to translate than Raf would, but he also knows how the other thinks, so he makes a pretty educated guess.
"Raf and Miko are fine, last I video chatted with them - a year or so ago. Raf was graduating from some fancy science school in Arizona, aiming to get into State Security, maybe Satellite Scanners legally." The Autobot was listening intently, so he can safely assume he hit the hammer in the head. Actually, looking at the scout reminded him: "He also remade his own yellow car; it's got AI and spy cams. He really misses you buddy. He managed to keep the feed from the base saved on his laptop. We watched them like, every month after you were gone. Miko actually made a mixtape out of the funniest moments - kinda like a video documentary."
He looks at the Wrecker that's been keeping watch on the other paladins, Keith in particular was receiving Knockouts -the red sports car, medic and ex-decepticons- attention. "Miko is working her way up the music industry, though as a Voice actor right now. She's getting pretty popular and working on getting support for solo albums. And, cause we know Miko, she's also doing parkour. It reminds her of our adventures.
We missed you all pretty bad."
A digit picked him up and Hunk yelled out for him, fearful as Keith drew his sword and tried hacking it at his capturers pede. It was Ratchet, who took a pause in denoting Allura's self-esteem from Royal know-it-better to galactic fuck-up her father would cast from his presence. He also gave Keith the 'this is clearly not working, are you dumb' look. Also a memorable sight from Earth.
A part of him felt avenged, and comforted in knowing Ratchet was the one coming to their defense when it had been just him still fighting for their peace. This war wasn't theirs, they belonged home, the Holts deserved to be recovered, yes, but war would be a couple dozen steps away still if it hadn't been for Allura (and Blue, but she didn't have many options on isolated Earth to glean help from. Allura did, a rebellion existed - the Blade of Marmora and the Freedom Fighters).

My Opinion on Lance from Voltron:Legendary Defender
Sooo I’m finally doing a post on everyone’s favorite character from Voltron, Lancey Lance the Amazing Ninja Sharpshooter. But sadly, Lance was thrown around like a dirty rag, and not shown any affection or attention by anyone (besides Keef <3), including the creators of Voltron. Dreamworks did Lance dirty, and I will never forgive them because of that.
1. Lance’s insecurities. Lance has shown that he is insecure many times throughout the show. For example, when he visits Keith to tell him that he wants to leave the team so he doesn’t become a burden to anyone, Lance explaining his feelings for Allura to the mice and NOT HIS ACTUAL FRIENDS WHO ARE SUPPOSED TO HELP HIM, and etc. If I’m not mistaken, Voltron is a KID’S show. This will probably influence kids to bottle up their emotions and to always try to make everyone happy, just like Lance attempted to do. Lance’s insecurities could have been handled with in a better way.
2. Lance and his ‘friendships’ with other characters. In the 1hr episode, “The New Alliance” we are introduced to Lance, Pidge, and Hunk, who are supposed to be friends (I mean in that episode they mostly spend time together, so it hints that they are friends?..) Anyways, as Voltron progresses, Lance is constantly made fun of, perhaps even bullied by the other paladins. The episode “The Hunted” is a perfect example of that. Near the end of the episode, Pidge (and I believe Hunk) make fun of Lance for his “natural stupidity” and Keith joins in saying “I know it’s fun to make fun of Lance” or something like that idk my memory is rusty. But Allura is the only one to come to Lance’s defense. Another moment is the “Garfle, Warfle, Snick!” episode. The paladins are playing against the Galra, and there is a point where ‘Zarkon’ says, “Hmm.. I’ll go with the dumb one!” which Lance responds by saying, “Whose that?”. During the episode Lance is constantly being corrected for saying the wrong answer or making a small mistake. Also, it seems like every paladin has a buddy with them. Pidge and Hunk are always together
Same with Keith and Shiro, and Allura and Coran. This leaves Lance being alone by himself, with no one to tag along with. I think the paladins don’t want Lance to be with them is because they think he’ll ask too many questions or something like that idk. Y’know the episode where Lance, Pidge, and Hunk all visit Allura and Lotor? Lance asks, after Pidge and Hunk leave him (what a surprise 😒) if they need help, to which they give Lance the silent treatment. Lance leaves with an upset expression on his face, and that made me FUCKING CRY. I thought he would at least hang with Pidge and Hunk because they seem like best friends in the first episode, but it seems like they’re not?.. Tho there is this one episode where the Garriosn Trio have fun by playing with a Galran robot they reprogrammed, but that is pretty much it. Lance being alone and made fun of breaks my heart, and not in a good way.
3. Allurance vs Klance. Yes, I know what you’re thinking. The old days of the Voltron fandom where shipping wars destroyed the show. But this time I’m dead serious when I say Allurance was one-sided. Allura has shown NO interest in Lance in the past 6 seasons whatsoever. Whenever he flirts with her she just gets annoyed and turns away from him. But now, all of the sudden, she has a liking for Lance after her dead ex-boyfriend Lotor died. On the other hand, Klance, actually has build-up and chemistry (as seen in the sunset scene, “We make a good team” scene, and so on.) Klance would have possibly been canon if weren’t for the toxic shippers in the fandom. In the end, Klance, despite all its popularity, was not made canon, and Allurance was rushed and made last-minute. Basically Allurance and Klance shippers were disappointed (at least most of them) because of how their ship was handled. But still, Allura would still view Lance as her second choice, no matter what. That’s why I support Klance, because I want Lance to be happy with someone who loves him back.
4. Lance’s Character Development. As a HUGE Lance stan, I was raging at how he was treated. First of all, the poor man barely gets any screen time. I mean he does get screen time, but it’s only when he’s with Allura or it’s just filler to lighten the mood in the episode. The only character development Lance gets is in Season 7/8, where he finally has a girlfriend. Dreamworks basically did this: “Oh! Let’s just forget about the other characters in the show and only give so and so character development and a character arc because they’re the most liked by the fandom!” (Cough cough PIDGE SHIRO KEITH IM LOOKING AT YOU THREE) I thought that this was straight up stupid. Why create a character if you’re not going to give them just as much attention than the other characters? At this point Voltron should just be named “The Keith, Pidge, and Shiro Show!”. It’s also angers me that everyone got what they wanted at the end of Voltron. Keith wanted to be loved by his family and all that bullshit and guess what? He’s helping other people do that (I kinda forgot what Keith did at the end of Voltron forgive me for any mistakes) Pidge was super smart and wanted to be a scientist; She became a scientist. Hunk wanted to be a chef; Now he’s leading his OWN FUCKING CULINARY CHEF ARMY. SHIRO WANTED TO BE AT PEACE AND GUESS WHAT HAPPENED? HE RETIRED. AND LANCE BECAME A FARMER WHEN HE WANTED TO BE A FUCKING GODAMN PILOT! I’m so sorry, but Lance retired when he was probably still in his late or early twenties. Not to mention he was constantly looked down upon and yelled at at the Garrison, so that’s prob one reason why he didn’t pursue his dream to be a pilot. But Lance should have lived his life and enjoyed it while it lasted before he retired.
5. Conclusion. I will never forget about Lance probably 70 years from now because of how lovable and funny he was. Some people have said that Lance was treated in such manner because the creators disliked him, others have said totally different things. It doesn’t matter about how you think about the character, it’s about how you develop and describe them. Lance McClain was betrayed, and I want to give him an extremely huge bear hug because of that.

Hello. From one Kallura Shipper to another, I am glad that this ship still has its fans even after the disaster that is S8. I am still kinda confused on one thing. If Kallura was hinted that throughout the show, why didn't the EPs just go for it instead?
Hello, welcome, and I'm happy you're still on this boat with us!
Your question is one I've pondered over myself since I found out that they're the legacy ship of the franchise (vld was my introduction). It's difficult to put any one true reason to it, honestly, but whenever I think about it/discuss it, I always boil it down to a few things:
1. The EPs went into the show with very specific biases related to the characters. JDS had allegedly stated that Lance was his favourite from the original, so I assume his writing re. Lance's relationship with Allura stems from that bias. Similarly, I've observed that LM has a Pidge bias, and choosing to alter Allura's race alongside Pidge's gender felt like Allura's story suddenly took a lower importance to Pidge's story due to a racial bias. Because of that:
2. Keith and Allura's relationship may have never been intended to be anything more than shiptease to the EPs. I do think their final choices on canon relationships clashed with some of the story writers (who were writing with romantic kallura in mind), and part of their final choice to canonize Lance and Allura involved destroying the idea that Keith and Allura could have been a couple, either in the show, or "fictionally" (their fight in S7E6, and Lance's outburst in S8E1 about DOTU!Kallura is targeted to that).
3. The show and its popularity ebbed with the whims of the fandom, even though the EPs said otherwise. Because fandom swayed the show's popularity, and Keith and Allura's relationship was (and still is) highly disrespected in fandom, hinting at making them canon in later seasons, or making them canon at all, was never gonna happen. It just worked out that the EPs didn't care for them that much either.
I'm sure there's a lot of other reasons as to why they chose not to go with making them explicitly canon in this iteration, but those stand out to me the most.
But... even though the EPs didn't make them explicitly canon, I do feel as if they didn't want to end the show without paying homage to the relationship Keith and Allura had in prior iterations OR leave their relationship in this one unresolved, and called forward a LOT of the romantic writing from earlier seasons to S8. Which makes sense since S8 was their last chance to do so. The inconsistency is there but it means something to me!

"Lance," Keith sounds breathless. "Back when we found my lion - the glowing symbols. What did you say about it?"
Lance is still staring hard at where Keith's hand rests on the control panel's screen, face scrunched in disbelief. "That is was written in code?"
Keith shakes his head. "No, no, about the Galra not being able to find it because of something to do with quintessence."
Lance's brow furrows further as he tries to recall what all he said so long ago, then his eyes flick up to meet Keith's. "Um? They were directions - quintessence infused." His lips purse as he tries to list everything. "The inscriptions would only be revealed in the presence of an Altean."
Keith removes his hand from the panel and the stars wink out. He strides toward Lance, mind racing. "Lance," Keith exhales. "I saw similar symbols back on Earth. Back when Hunk, Shiro, Pidge and I found the Green Lion in the cave."
Lance's eyes are flicking rapid-fire between Keith's, "But I wasn't there with you that time."
Keith grips Lance by the arms, hands squeezing tight. "Then why did the cave still light up?"
Lance almost looks as if he's stopped breathing.
Keith shifts his hold from Lance's arms, to hold his face. "The whole time I've been amazed at how much a couple of aliens look like us humans," Keith presses his forehead to Lance's, "but maybe I should've been thinking about how much we look like you."
And Keith can see it - in Lance's face - the moment the full meaning of everything clicks, and then Keith's being crushed in a bone-breaking hug. A wet laugh finds its way into the crook of Keith's neck. "Allura and I weren't the only ones to survive."
Keith raises his arms to squeeze Lance back just as tightly and buries his nose in his hair. "I think we're gonna need another look at the cave back on Earth."
A little glimpse at the Humans-are-the-crossbreed-descendants-of-Alteans-that-fled storyline reveal. I tried to layer so many hints and foreshadowing throughout the fic, and the reveal was just so satisfying to write. Idk if it’s been done before (probably) as I joined this fandom wayyy late but this AU is clogging all my brain space. I’m feral. If you ask me, I will scream your ear off about how this fills a ton of plot holes in canon and strengthens some of the choices made by different characters. Actually, I’ll rant about it on the next post since it’ll be the last batch of artwork for the fic. I’m so excited to draw more stuff within the AU. I just have so many thoughtsssss about how everything connectsssss ahhh
Fic: Sure and Indelible on AO3:

tbh i think the most obvious example of voltron’s terrible, terrible writing (aside from how they massacred allura and shiro’s characters, how pidge and hunk’s stagnated entirely, how keith and lance ‘developed’ in entirely-nonsensical-bordering-actively-contradictory-to-their-narrative-roles ways) is that in eight seasons, we never got the faintest inkling of how shiro got his scar or lost his arm. we never got any sense of how or why it happened beyond ‘he was a galra prisoner for a bit’
was he scarred in a fight? was the scar over his face a punishment from some insubordination? was he restrained in such a way for haggar’s experiments that it cut his face? did he lose his arm in some kind of crash or escape attempt? was it cut off by haggar? sendak? a fight? the same fight he got his facial scar or a different one? does it have anything to do with his previous rank as ‘champion’?
we get plenty of flashbacks to his time as a prisoner and it’s never even touched on. narratively, a massive physical change like that should be emblematic of an internal change, too. we can infer his hair turns white from stress, but what about the rest? are these changes indicating he fought for his or others’ freedom by trying to escape? that he gave in to the role of the galra’s champion, if only temporarily? that he was strong enough to fight sendak but not strong enough to win?
if his time as a galra prisoner was just the inciting incident + a little flavour text, then it would be fine to not to go into details. but shiro becomes their champion, he is the focal point of haggar’s complex and poorly-written nebulous plans, and we see various hints and flashbacks to this time. if this felt like an intentional omission, that would be one thing, a unique take on how these stories are usually written, a moment pointedly left private, but instead it feels very much like they either just forgot to tell us and never remembered, or didn’t care enough about shiro or his character to fill out the story behind his most prominent features and thereby one of the most important moments of his character’s bedrock in the first place

Trigger warning:
Suicide, death, hints at drugs and/or alcohol
"Lance, you don't you don't understand!" Keith argued, "nothing has been working!"
"Keith, you can't just do this, please. If not for me, then for shiro? Or Pidge, Hunk, Coran, Allura?"
"Allura," Keith spat. "You expect me to do anything for her when she stole everything from me!?"
"What has she ever stolen from you?!" Plance claimed. Keith looked at Lance, his expression un readable but silent none the less.
"You.." Keith whispered.
"What?"
" I said You! Okay? She stole you from me." He cried, his voice began to crack. "She stole my everything," he whispered. Lance stood stunned at Keith's declaration. Every beat of silence became loud, lance had said nothing, not even a sound. He just stood there as if the idea of Keith liking him in that way was unheard of, like it was impossible. Every second, the large drop that was in front of Keith became more tempting. Every second, his urge to jump, to get rid of the pain of all these years, was getting larger. Everything he tried, the drugs, alcohol, any of it lead to only momentary numbness. Happiness for only a short time. Death, though? That was a different story. Everything would be gone. Finally, he would have control. It was like this was the only thing in life he could control, and Lance was taking that away from him. Keith heard footsteps shuffling frantically up the stairs to the roof. "What did you do?!" Keith demanded."No, no, you are NOT taking this away from me!" Keith's tears began to fall down his face. A dreaded sense of betrayal looming over him. Lance wanted him to be happy. Right? So why would he take that away?! The footsteps got closer. "Probably shiro, pidge, Hunk and coran, of course not Allura though she hates my guts," Keith thought. A worry filled Lance's eyes. And yet, Keith didn't care...
One step...
Keith lowered his head, "Lance, I love you, I really do." he looked up, seeing the broken and dishevelled Lance one last time, and he jumped.
"NO!" Lance cried, leaping forward, his hand just slipping past Keith and failing to grab on to him. "I love you too..." he said, voice cracking and eyes filling with tears.
"You can join him." Somone said from behind Lance. He turned around quickly.
"Wha-" He began, but no one was there.
"Over here," the voice said, pulling Lance over to the edge, his stomach slamming against the railing borderline winding him. "Tempting, isn't it?" The voice giggled. "Do it, I know you want to. Follow him." The voice tempted in his ear. The ground became soothing, like it was calling him. Lance couldn't believe he was being persuaded to actually do this. And by the air at that. "Oh, I'm not "Air. " I'm the other voice. The one inside your head. The one with the "bad thoughts." But really, is this one "bad?" The voice questioned. "Go on... be with him. Join us."
"I-" Lance began
"They are almost here. Choose now. I think you know what you want..."
"Keith"
"Go on, do it."
" I'll see him? Yes?"
"Yes," the voice responded. Lance looked to the stars. He decided.
"I'll he there soon Keith... I love you, " he breathed into the night. Slowly, yet hastily, he crawled over the railing in front of him...
"I'm coming, my love..." he whispered. Still looking at the stars, he submitted himself to the ground. Giving in at last.
