Marriages are very important in Hindu traditions as they are an essential component of Indian culture. The wedding invitation card sets the tone for the holy union as it's the first impression visitors get of the celebration to come. Hindu wedding invitations are more than just sheets of paper—they represent blessings, traditions, and feelings conveyed.

A few years ago I hastily traced a photo of myself from my sister's wedding in MS Paint and I thought the resulting dead-eyed expression was hilarious, like something out of an in-flight safety demonstration card.

2 of Cups. Mystic Spiral Tarot
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Themes and Keywords: Nurturing. Agape versus Eros. Preparing for pregnancy. Maternal care. Pledging troth. Entwining. Union of polarities and the result. Romance. Harmony of male and female. Partnership. Mirroring. Mutual attraction. Interest/excitement. Astrology/Element Cancer decan I combines the motherly moon as ruler of cardinal water sign Cancer, with feminine Venus as ruler of the decan. Cancer is a protective and maternal sign, associated with the womb and breasts. Venus is the goddess of love and attraction, encouraging harmonious union. Yet as a two, it is also associated with the supernal masculine, as well as with themes of polarities encountering each other. This merger of the sexes is bound to be fruitful. Agrippa’s decan image is appropriately feminine and Venusian, featuring a youthful crowned virgin in fine clothes. The signification speaks of acute senses, perhaps the feeling nature of Cancer, and mentions specifically the love of men. The Picatrix imagery is less clear, telling of a man with distorted fingers and head, perhaps a supernal reference to yod and Kether, from which the twos descend. His horse-like body could relate to the seas of Cancer, and his white feet and fig leaves are vaguely Venusian. The significations at least mention love. Dolphins are associated with Venus and the womb (Cancer); here they are paired as argent (silver) and or (gold). (Rosetta Tarot) Mythology/Time of Year Untainted love stories are appropriate here. Homer’s Odyssey tells of Penelope’s marital fidelity to Odysseus and her determination to preserve both her marriage and her son’s legacy despite Odysseus’s long absence. Venus’s maternal side shows in Aphrodite’s protectiveness toward her son Eros. The mortal Psyche had offended Aphrodite, who sent her son Eros to cause Psyche to fall in love with something hideous. But Eros fell prey to his own arrows and fell deeply in love with Psyche. After many trials from Venus, the tale has a happy ending when Psyche is made immortal and allowed to wed Eros. Silver (lunar) and gold (solar) cups, red and white roses: symbols of the alchemical marriage or union of opposites traditionally associated with the card. (Universal Wirth Tarot) Goddesses who protect children also apply. Hindu Parvati was the wife of Shiva, and goddess of love, children, marriage, and devotion. Parvati and Shiva are often portrayed as the Shiva linga, the conjoined yoni and lingam that represent the interdependence of the male and female forces in the regenerative process of life. Parvati’s prakriti (feminine nature) joins Shiva’s purusha (male consciousness). The decan begins at June solstice, when baby animals flourish.127 Susan T. Chang

Happy whenever this finds you. For me it is Weds. Nove 13th Today is the Chrysalis deck. I went with three words I wanted to know the energy of for today. The words are "vibes", "Productivity", and "inspiration". These answers, at first glance sure seem to be clear. Let's get into it. The Vibes card is the Six of Scrolls (Swords) and the art on the card absolutely radiates peace and calm, and unity in a way. Perhaps it is two people charing grief to lighten the load for both of them. Perhaps it is the sharing of ancient wisdom. The elephant here represents Ganesha, the Hindu god of a great many things. But one of the things he is God of is learning and sharing as well as removing the internal obstacles of such. Today will be a day of learning and peace, even if that peace is shared exhaustion. Remember, we are always stronger together. The second card is "Productivity" and is represented by the Ace of Stones (pentacles) and is pointing to a new project. Perhaps. Perhaps it will be the energy to start a project that is on the books but that has not bee started yet. I only have about three hundred of those. It is a card of productivity even if that productivity is not where I think it ought to be. The final card is "Inspiration" and is the ten of stones in reverse. Which tells me that I might not be finding new inspo today, but returning to old projects. Upright the card warns against hoarding. It may well be that my inspiration today will come from sharing my inspiration with others. (Oh look how we circled back to card 1) If you enjoy these longer form readings and would like one of your own, please reach out and we will tailor a reading just for you. (And you know what... I can even figure out a subscription plan) Have a magical day.

Filing for Mutual Divorce in India: Your Simple Guide
Divorce can be tough, but if both partners agree to separate, a mutual divorce (or Mutual Consent Divorce) can make things easier. In India, this type of divorce allows couples to end their marriage without the stress of a long court battle. Here’s everything you need to know about the process, costs, and what to expect.
What is a Mutual Consent Divorce?
A mutual consent divorce is when both spouses decide to end their marriage together. This approach works well for couples who can agree on key issues like how to divide their property, who will take care of the children, and if there will be any financial support.
Legal Framework
Different laws in India cover mutual divorce depending on your religion. Here’s a quick overview:
Hindu Marriage Act, 1955: For Hindus, Sikhs, Jains, and Buddhists.
Indian Christian Marriage Act, 1872: For Christians.
Parsi Marriage and Divorce Act, 1936: For Parsis.
Muslim Personal Law: For Muslims.
Special Marriage Act, 1954: For interfaith or civil marriages.
While the specific rules may vary, the process is mostly similar across these laws.
Requirements for Mutual Divorce
To file for a mutual divorce, you need to meet certain conditions:
Separation Period: You must have been living apart for at least one year.
Agreement: Both partners need to agree that the marriage cannot continue.
Joint Petition: Both parties must sign the divorce petition together.
Where to File
You can file your mutual divorce petition at the Family Court in the city where:
You last lived together as a couple.
Your marriage took place.
The wife currently lives.
Choosing the right location helps simplify the process.
Documents Needed
Having the right documents is crucial for a smooth divorce. Here’s what you’ll need:
Marriage Proof: This can be a marriage certificate, wedding photos, or any valid proof of marriage.
ID Proofs: Aadhaar cards, PAN cards, or other government IDs for both partners.
Marriage Invitation Card: To prove your relationship.
Mutual Agreement (MoU): A document outlining how you’ll divide property, child custody, and financial support.
Income Proof: Salary slips or proof of income if financial support is involved.
Steps to File for Mutual Divorce
Here’s a simple step-by-step guide to filing for mutual divorce:
Draft the MoU: Create a document that lists all the terms of your divorce, including how you’ll divide property, custody arrangements, and alimony.
File the Joint Divorce Petition: Submit the petition to the Family Court, along with the MoU. Both spouses must sign it.
First Motion Hearing: After filing, a hearing will be scheduled. The judge will check that both partners understand the MoU and agree to the divorce.
Six-Month Cooling-Off Period: The court usually requires a six-month waiting period. This allows both parties to reconsider their decision. If you’re sure about the divorce, you may request a waiver in special cases.
Second Motion Hearing: After the cooling-off period, you’ll have a second hearing. If both partners still agree, the judge will issue a final decree, officially ending the marriage.
Costs Involved
The cost of a mutual divorce in India generally ranges from INR 15,000 to INR 30,000. This includes:
Legal Fees: For drafting documents and legal representation.
Court Fees: For filing and hearing costs.
Mutual divorce is usually cheaper than a contested divorce since it requires less time in court.
Timeline for a Mutual Divorce
The entire process typically takes 6 to 18 months. The timeline can vary based on the cooling-off period and how quickly court dates are available.

Marriage Registration in India: A Complete Guide to the Process and Benefits
Tumblr media
Marriage registration is a crucial step for legally validating your union in India. Whether you’re newly married or have been married for years, obtaining a marriage registration certificate offers numerous benefits, from legal protection to the ability to obtain family benefits. At LawChef, we specialize in assisting couples with this process, offering expertise through our marriage registration lawyers in Delhi, Noida, and other cities across India.
Why Register Your Marriage?
Marriage registration legally recognizes a marriage under Indian law, giving it legal validity and ensuring protection under civil and family laws. It offers several key benefits:
Legal Proof of Marriage: The marriage certificate acts as official proof of your marriage.
Protection Under Law: It provides legal standing for resolving disputes related to inheritance, family rights, and other legal matters.
Eligibility for Spousal Benefits: From insurance claims to property ownership, a marriage certificate ensures easy access to various family and spousal benefits.
Smooth Visa and Immigration Processes: Many countries require a marriage certificate to sponsor a spouse’s visa or to process immigration paperwork.
If you’re looking for expert assistance in securing these rights, our marriage registration lawyer in Delhi or marriage registration lawyer in Noida is here to assist you at every step.
Types of Marriage Registration in India
In India, marriages can be registered under two main acts:
The Hindu Marriage Act, 1955: Applicable to Hindus, Jains, Buddhists, and Sikhs.
The Special Marriage Act, 1954: Applicable to interfaith marriages and couples who do not wish to marry under religious customs.
Each act has its requirements, so working with an experienced marriage registration lawyer can simplify the process and ensure compliance with the relevant laws.
Step-by-Step Guide to Marriage Registration in India
Step 1: Apply for Marriage Registration
You can apply for online marriage registration through the official portal of your state government or the district’s marriage registrar office. For assistance with applications, our legal experts at LawChef can help streamline the process.
Step 2: Documentation
Documentation is crucial for marriage registration. You will need:
Proof of identity (Aadhar card, passport, etc.)
Proof of address (utility bills, bank statements, etc.)
Date of birth proof (birth certificate, school certificate)
A passport-sized photograph of each spouse
An affidavit stating marital status, nationality, and address
Wedding invitation card (if applicable)
Photographs of the marriage ceremony
Having a marriage registration lawyer on hand helps to ensure that all required documents are complete, and our team at LawChef can handle any unforeseen documentation issues that may arise.
Step 3: Verification Process
The documents are then verified by a marriage registrar, who may ask for additional proof if needed. If all is in order, you’ll be asked to attend a brief in-person interview at the registrar’s office to confirm the validity of the marriage.
Step 4: Issuance of Marriage Registration Certificate
After verification, the registrar will issue the marriage registration certificate, officially validating the marriage. This document serves as proof of marriage, allowing couples to access legal rights and benefits.
For couples unable to visit the registrar’s office in person, we offer services to facilitate online marriage registration, providing complete support from documentation to verification.

Marriage Registration in Delhi: A Comprehensive Guide
Marriage registration is a legal process that formalizes a couple's union, ensuring that their relationship is recognized under the law. In Delhi, like in other parts of India, marriage registration is governed by specific acts, and the process has been simplified in recent years through online services. Marriage Registration in Delhi is essential not only to obtain legal rights as a married couple but also for various practical reasons such as visa applications, joint bank accounts, property rights, and inheritance.
Legal Framework for Marriage Registration
Any Delhi Marriage Registration is done based on the following two primary acts:
The Hindu Marriage Act, 1955: This act applies to Hindus, Buddhists, Sikhs, and Jains. The conditions for a valid marriage under this act include:
Neither party should have a living spouse from a previous marriage.
Both parties must be of sound mind and capable of giving consent.
The bridegroom should be at least 21 years old and the bride should be at least 18 years old.
The Special Marriage Act, 1954: This act is secular and applies to all citizens of India, irrespective of their religion. It is often used when the marriage is between individuals of different religions or when the couple opts for a civil ceremony rather than a religious one.
Why Register a Marriage?
Marriage registration via Court Marriage offers numerous benefits:
Legal Proof of Marriage: The marriage certificate is a legal document that validates the marriage. It can be used in various legal matters, including inheritance disputes or separation cases.
International Recognition: If a couple plans to live or travel abroad, the marriage certificate is often required for visa or immigration processes.
Protection of Rights: Registration safeguards the legal rights of both spouses, particularly in the event of a dispute, divorce, or death.
Other Practical Uses: The certificate is often needed for updating personal records, such as PAN cards, passports, and bank accounts.
Procedure for Marriage Registration in Delhi
The process of registering a marriage in Delhi is straightforward and can be done either online or offline at the respective Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) office.
Online Application:
The couple can apply for marriage registration online through the official Delhi government website. The website provides a user-friendly interface for submitting the application and uploading necessary documents.
Once the application is submitted, a date is assigned for both parties to appear at the SDM office for the verification of documents.
Documents Required:
Identity proof: Aadhaar card, voter ID, or passport of both parties.
Address proof: Utility bills, ration card, or rent agreement.
Date of birth proof: Birth certificate, 10th-grade mark sheet, or passport.
Passport-size photographs of both parties.
Affidavit confirming the marital status and nationality of the parties.
Invitation card from the wedding (if applicable).
Physical Verification: On the assigned date, the couple, along with two witnesses, must visit the SDM office. The marriage officer verifies the documents, and upon successful verification, the marriage is registered, and the certificate is issued.
Timeline and Fees
The registration process typically takes around 15 to 30 days after submitting the application and attending the verification process. In urgent cases, marriages under the Special Marriage Act may require a 30-day notice period before registration. The fee for marriage registration followed by the Marriage Certificate in Delhi under the Hindu Marriage Act is around INR 100, while under the Special Marriage Act, it is approximately INR 150.
Conclusion
Marriage registration in Delhi is a crucial step that provides legal recognition and protection for couples. With a streamlined process available both online and offline, registering a marriage has become easier than ever. It is important for couples to complete this process not only for legal reasons but also to safeguard their rights and future interests. 9 Important Things To Consider Before Buying Your Wedding Invitation
The engagement is over, and the wedding planning has begun! That includes choosing the perfect Designer Wedding Cards. After all, it's your guests' first impression of your big day. But what should you be looking for when Buying Wedding Cards Online? With endless options in paper types, fonts, and designs, narrowing down what you want can be overwhelming without blowing your budget. Here are nine essential things to consider before buying your wedding invitation to ensure you get exactly what you're looking for on your special day.
Tumblr media
1.   Know about your wedding style.
When selecting your wedding invitations, it is essential to consider the overall style of your wedding. Knowing the type of atmosphere you want to create and what kind of look will best represent you and your partner is a great place to start when choosing an invitation design. Knowing if you plan for something traditional or modern, classic or whimsical, formal or informal can help narrow down the selection so that it accurately reflects the couple's personalities and vision for their big day.
2.   Decide your color palette or color theme.
When deciding on a color palette or theme for your Hindu Wedding Cards, it is essential to consider the overall look and feel of your special day. Consider what colors most reflect the mood and atmosphere you're trying to create. You may want something bright and cheerful or opt for more muted tones if you'd like a more formal look. Additionally, ensure that any chosen hues match other elements, such as centerpieces, bridesmaid dresses, etc., so everything coordinates nicely. With careful planning and thought into this part of the process, your guests will receive an invitation they will remember!
3.   Chalk out a budget
Your budget is one of the most important things to consider before buying your Hindu Wedding Invitations card. Wedding invitations can range in price from a few dollars to hundreds of dollars, so it's essential to know how much you're willing to spend on yours. There are a few ways to save money on wedding invitations, such as opting for a more straightforward design or ordering them in bulk. Whatever your budget may be, there's an invitation out there that's perfect for you.
4.   Know what your guests will love.
When selecting Hindu Invitations Cards, many important things should be considered. One of the most important is knowing what your guests will love. You want to choose an invitation that reflects your personality and the overall style of the wedding but also something that will appeal to all of your guests. Think about colors, fonts, paper quality, and other design elements. If you have a lot of out-of-town guests attending or a large family gathering at the ceremony, consider designing two invitations - one for each group, so everyone feels included in the celebration.
5.   Know what's trending.
When it comes to Islamic wedding invitations, there are always new trends emerging. Whether it's a unique style of invitation, a new way to personalize them, or a new way to send them out, it's essential to be aware of what's trending.
6. Know the number of cards you will need
Before purchasing your Islamic Wedding Cards, knowing how many you will need is essential. Ordering too few can be just as big of a mistake as containing too many. To get an accurate number, start by counting how many people you invite to your wedding. Once you have that number, add 20% for guests who may RSVP but not attend and 10-15 extra for keepsakes. It will give you a buffer in case any invitations get lost in the mail or if you need to correct any mistakes when addressing them.
7. Know what other cards you would like to include with your invitation.
Other important things to consider before buying your Muslim Wedding Cards are what other cards you would like to include with your invitations. Some couples have reply cards, directions cards, or accommodation cards with their invitations. These additional cards can benefit your guests and add a nice touch to invitations. If you are including any of these different cards with your invitation, be sure to order them at the same time as your invitations so that they match in style and colors.
8. Decide on your invitation accompaniments.
When it comes to Indian Wedding Invitations, there are many important things to consider before buying. One of the most important considerations for your wedding invitation is deciding on the accompaniments that will accompany them. It may include RSVP cards, save-the-date cards, envelope liners, custom postage stamps, and maps with directions to your venue. You'll want to ensure these items coordinate with each other and create a unified visual look that compliments your overall wedding theme and colors. Choosing the right accompaniments can bring out the beauty in your invitations and help set an elegant tone for your special day!
9. Do not overburden the card.
When you are selecting your Indian Wedding Cards, it is essential to remember that less is more. You want to ensure the card is manageable with enough information and images. Stick to the basics: who, what, when, where. If you have a specific theme or color scheme for your wedding, you can incorporate that into your invitation design. But resist the urge to go overboard – less is more when it comes to wedding invitations!
