Even when we're unsure of the exact message, the theories continue to swirl.

 Theory 1 The scrabble game is a message for the Adjacent.

N likes scrabble and she has a degree in English, take that in account.The words on the board appear to be randomly placed without an immediately obvious hidden message. However, we could interpret or connect the words in various ways to find underlying messages based on the context, a complex and layered message, potentially from N to someone possibly "A".  Here’s my interpretation using literal meanings, slang and abbreviations.

DAD: Might refer to L (N and L are referred to as Mom and Dad), bringing in a personal element to the message.

DIRT: Refers to something unethical or malicious, indicating wrongdoing.

DEAD: N might be signaling that something is irrevocably over.

FATE: suggesting that no matter the actions taken, some outcomes are destined.

Theory 2 Her post for her best friend birthday, a jab at N’s friends.

N knows how to kill two birds with one stone. She posted pictures of her with her best friend C with the following caption:

This seems a little bit random but it’s not. It’s actually quite relevant. During that time, Luke’s friends faced a lot of backlash for revealing his whereabouts and private activities supposedly without his consent or knowledge, with some even speculating they were in cahoots with the paparazzi. In contrast, Nicola’s post demonstrated how a true friend should act in such situations, and C perfectly exemplifies what genuine friendship looks like. Theory 3: Bless the telephone is for L

I don’t see her intentionally misleading a large part of her audience. I also think she was in love with L during the PR tour, and the distance and awkwardness we’ve seen between them wouldn’t exist if those kinds of feelings weren’t involved. The feelings seem mutual, and there’s an undeniable strong bond between them, as many in the fandom believe. It’s rare to have that with someone, let alone multiple people.

She isn’t missing EF or JD, as she’s been seen with them recently, and it’s safe to assume they’ve been in touch. If she were dating one of them, they’d already be together, and she wouldn’t be waiting for him to be ready. There are countless love songs she could have chosen, yet she picked these specific ones.

For those who doubted her intentions, she responded beautifully with a framed picture captioned: “Very demure, very mindful.” She loves a double entendre.

Final thoughts:

I believe that Nicola is very deliberate and thoughtful in how, when, and why she engages with her audience. She’s incredibly smart and aware, and while she might have a busy life, this kind of interaction is a meaningful part of it. Despite her being very demure, she’s also very human and very mindful and not above sending subtle messages. This is one of the reasons we admire her so much. While we might tend to overanalyze her every move, there’s often an underlying message in what she shares. These messages are usually intended for everyone because she chooses to make them public, rather than keeping them private or posting them only on her personal Instagram. She considers her fans and communicates with them in this way. I think she enjoys being playful and giving us little challenges. For me, it’s: Message received, challenge accepted.

The Chilling Adventures of Steve Rogers: Part One (Magical Hydra Horror AU)

Five:

Sitting at his desk in Pym's physics class, Steve idly doodled in his notebook. Mindlessly, his hand moved about the paper as he tried to set himself right. It shouldn't have been nearly as difficult to do so. After all, he knew that he wanted to make a difference. Steve wanted to help others and make the world a better place. And he knew that the only way to do that would be to join the rest of his family in Hydra.

Hydra ruled the world. They hid just behind the scenes and puppeteered the intricacies of the world. Scientist, doctors, and teachers. Powerful politicians and lower-ranking do-gooders. Activists groups and just every day schmoes, like Steve's uncles. Like their late sister, Steve's mom, Hela.

But that rock in the pit of Steve's stomach was still heavy with dread. Steve knew that on his sixteenth birthday, he'd fully integrate into Hydra. Not only would he be undergoing the procedure for a new, powerful body that aligned more with the strength of his families. But he'd also be shipped off to a school to better practice the powers he inherited. The magical abilities that he hardly ever practiced because they reminded him of what the future held.

Steve would've liked to think that, come his sixteenth birthday, he'd be able to leave the mundane of his former life behind and happily embrace his new life. And perhaps he would've if it wasn't for --

The school bell chimed loudly overhead, signaling that class was over. Packing up his items, Steve found Sam lingering around the doorframe for him. Slinging his bag over his slender shoulder, Steve pushed his glasses further up the bridge of his nose and tried not to get emotional as he crossed the room to Sam. Sam was another person he'd have to give up.

"Why the long face?" Sam questioned, gripping onto his own backpack strap. Nudging him with a gentle elbow to the ribs, Sam teased, "Bucky didn't give you an in between class kiss?"

"Ha ha," Steve playfully rolled his eyes and nudged his shoulder in to Steve's taller frame.

"Okay," Sam chuckled, placing his arm around Steve's petite frame. The air shifting into one less playful, but not any less caring as Sam asked, "So, what's up?"

"Nothing," Steve answered, letting his gaze land on the rows of lockers as they approached his own.

"C'mon, dude. There's clearly something up. So, what is it? Maybe I can help," Sam encouraged, squeezing Steve just a bit closer before dropping his arm entirely.

Chewing on the inside of his cheek, Steve thought about all the repercussions if he so much as hinted about what was truly bothering him. After all, the witch hunts of the past were still a very real thing in other parts of the world. As the world had shown over and over again, when people feared the unknown, they turned violent.

Besides, Steve wanted this. Really, he did. He wanted to fit in with his family. He wanted to be healthy. He wanted to be good and do good. He wanted to save the world. And the only way to do that was to follow his family, embrace his destiny, and become a part of Hydra.

"I just didn't sleep well," Steve answered instead, sagging in his fatigue as he opened his locker.

Sam leaned against the other lockers beside Steve's and empathetically sighed, "That most definitely sucks."

"You're telling me," Steve scoffed, letting out a deep breath and just taking a moment to blankly look at his open locker. On the inside of the door, there were pictures of Steve with Bucky, and some with their friends, held in colorful magnetic frames. Inside, Bucky's worn leather jacket hung on one of the hooks, crammed in tight beside Steve's Sherpa faux lining tan corduroy jacket. The bottom shelf held Steve's books while Bucky claimed the top shelf since he could actually reach it.

"So," Sam started, watching Steve, "What kept you up?"

Steve shook his head, he couldn't talk about it. Not even with himself. Instead, he tried to bury all his negativity deep down within himself. Maybe he could write about it and burn it up, so no one else could read it? Maybe he could scream it out in a pillow? Or maybe he could talk to Hil--

Arms wrapped around his small torso and lifted him in the air. Steve let out a startled gasp and turned his head to find Bucky. Jovially, Bucky pressed a passionate, playful kiss to the side of his neck as he set Steve down on the ground.

With a smile on his face, Steve spun around to face his boyfriend. Trying to remain stern, Steve swatted at Bucky and asked, "James Buchanan, what are you trying to do?! Give me a heart attack?!"

"Ooh, you just got middle named," scandalized, Sam teased.

But the large grin stayed glued to Bucky's face as he ducked down and affectionately wrapped Steve up in his arms while nuzzling into Steve's neck. Knowing that Steve could never stay made at him when he acted so cute. Which was the reason why Bucky acted as adorable as he could. Gaining that fond grin of Steve's every time in the process. Just as he did now.

Pulling back, Bucky kept his arms protectively around Steve's waist and grinned, "You love me."

The blush burning deep on Steve's cheeks, he corrected falsely, "I hate you."

"Yeah, okay," Bucky playfully rolled his eyes and leaned in to press a sweet, chaste kiss to Steve's lips. Appeasing the blond in all the ways that stopped Steve's head from thinking about everything bad that was sure to come.

4/8/17. Back on the road

Hil and I spent two lovely relaxing days as guests at Ruth and Lonan's house in Caromb and gave you all a break from this blog. Without a car, and being too hot to walk anywhere we sat in the shade of the garden, strolling into the village for dinner each evening. Our preferred restaurant last night was "complet " so we had a simple supper watching the sun set over the Dentelles de Montmiraill. Neither of us slept well, and when the taxi collected Hilary I pedalled off with the expected heavy heart. I stopped for provisions in Mazan where the Marquis de Sade used to live; his chateau is now a hotel with nice gardens and an interesting collection of "artefacts ". I whipped myself into action and sped along despite 30 degrees and arrived in Avignon for coffee in the main square, surrounded by gangs of bored tourists plodding round, plugged into their pre-recorded commentary, trailing behind bony women with pinched lips and tired eyes. The grumpy waiter took my €2 for a small coffee and refused to refill my bidon- the first time this has happened to me, ever! I made my feelings known and cycled off, hurling foul oaths over my shoulder. I had followed the route Gareth Mike and I had taken three years ago and felt their presence alongside me until I passed the train station where I was able to shake off their ghosts and set off south into unknown territory. The direct route to my hotel today was only 80 km so I decided my mood would improve with the rhythm of the road and decided to detour to St Remy de Provence where Gareth once sat on my shoulders and gorged on cherries. I failed to find the cherry tree and carried on along tree lined avenues to Arles which has always held a certain magic for me since studying Van Gogh in school. The temperature rose to an oppressive 42 and I stopped for my picnic under a tree near an empty sports ground. The land shimmered in the heat; nothing moved, not a dog, not a bird,even the cicadas had taken a siesta. It was too uncomfortable to stay long and at least when you are moving you create your own breeze. The heat bounced off the tarmac and the buildings and although I drank plenty it tasted like water from the hot tap. Fortunately I only climbed about 600m today; after 113km I arrived at my hotel, sank 2 quick beers and retired gratefully to my air conditioned room. The scenery has changed once again- the rows of vines of the southern Cotes du Rhone have given way to nameless arable crops, the roads lined by murky irrigation ditches with bamboo in every verge. It seems incomprehensible that a week ago I was high in the Alps and am now in the boiling cauldron of the south. Tomorrow I cross the Camargue!

Hils Watches Unknown - Ep 1

Now that I'm back from my sister's wedding it's time to start a new drama. Someone on Bluesky recommended this one and it's been a while since I watched a Taiwanese BL. I think the last one was Kiseki: Dear to Me which I loved so I am hopeful for this one too

There's a lot of time skips happening which I'm struggling to keep up with. It was 2013 a couple of minutes ago so are we going backwards? I like that this is about a family of siblings though. Well, two blood siblings and a kid that was found on the streets and adopted?

Ah, okay, this is the flashback to when they first met

It's like when people put food out for feral cats to try and domesticate them but instead of ending up with a pet he's going to end up with a brother/boyfriend

I do like that the Taiwanese BLs are a little bit darker. Not all of them, but a few that I've watched. It's a nice change from the usual college romances.

I actually think Taiwanese BLs are just about the perfect length. Thai ones tend to be a bit too long, and Japanese and Korean ones are a bit too short. 12 eps of 30 mins feels about right.

Back for less than a day and in Wei Qian's bedroom again already

Ehehe! He's so used to Wei Zhiyuan looking after him that he just assumed that the glass of water was for him. Of course Wei Zhiyuan is a good boy who serves his guests first.
