Best book you’ve read so far in 2024: idk idk i've read a lot of books that i'd put at like 4-5 stars this year, but i have a hard time picking one specifically

Best sequel you’ve read so far in 2024: Fevered Star by Rebecca Roanhorse, which to be fair is also the only sequel I've read this year. but! it was good <3

New release you haven’t read yet but want to: Private Rites by Julia Armfield (:

Most anticipated release for the second half of the year: no idea, books just sort of appear to me.

Biggest surprise: maybe Jeanette Winterson in that I liked Oranges more than I was expecting and Night Side of the River less than I was expecting :(

Favorite new author (debut or new to you): Ling Ma maybe? I really liked Bliss Montage and am reading Severance now, so. But I wanna read more China Miéville and Olga Tokarczuk also :)

Newest fictional crush: can't think of anyone.....

Book that made you cry: crying at books is pretty rare for me but Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow got me closest to tearing up i think.

Most beautiful book you’ve bought so far this year (or received): I like the gold lines on Piranesi :)

Book that made you happy: all 14 volumes of Dungeon Meshi <3 (not included in the book count lol)

What books do you need to read by the end of the year?: Murderbot 3, I keep leaving it at the wrong house... :( also Acceptance for sequel reasons, and Odd Girls and Twilight Lovers and A Study in Drowning for library deadline reasons. And then every other book I have lying around either physically or digitally......
