It is the old inn, back in its hey-day.

Bustling and busy, filled with the voices of people and laughter. Sometimes there were raised voices, but overall it was a good place to be. A distant time and place.

In your hands is your beloved doll, your favourite toy, your bestest friend. Such things were friends of young children, before they realized and grew up to know that items can't be friends. Even if Pokemon could look like existing items, didn't mean objects could be alive.

But this doll was a good omen. A good symbol.

You can remember how it feels, so it felt extra real when you hug it in your dream.

You go about your life. Just doing daily things. It's a gentle dream. So when you wake you feel peaceful, even if the room was a bit dusty and made you sneeze at dawn.

You snuggle under the covers to go back to sleep, it's still too early, but something bumps into you when you roll over.

Your lantern lights up when you pull off the covers and discover an old, careworn doll nestle beside you.

she dreams about the inn often.

Ecruteak was her beloved home. A place that she cherishes in her memories. Everyone knew everyone, it felt like.

when she returned, a year later, the few people who realized who she was looked at her as if she were a ghost.

And… maybe a little bit of Anzu did die, back then. Maybe she was a ghost, to dear ecruteak. A thing that didn’t belong.

She felt as if she were drowning, so she couldn’t stay. Anzu left not a day after returning, holding tight to her new papa’s hand.

… that was so many years ago.

But when she wakes, today, her childhood doll is there. As if it never left. Anzu picks it up and it feels the same. The same weight, the same fabric. The same smile, however faded the cloth is now.
