that's the pandalily fic! the central trope in that one is accidental bonding and it's bond that happens bc of botched potion originally designed for auror partners who need to be close proximity to each other for their safety (but it explodes and gets all over pandora and lily and has some. unintended results lmao) but at one point in the story lily reflects that the bond is literally like the magical version of the buddy system
