Since it's not mentioned by name, it's Mumbo x Scar/redscape or whatever the name is

The Fae are the rulers of ancient forests, old in time and old in magic. It is cunning and cruel, its citizens even more so, leaving the ones that survived the perilous journey through the trees confused and weary.

The highrule are the ones at the top, considered the "kings" by most creatures, and are particular with who live among them, for a lapse in judgement could mean everlasting consequences, no matter good or bad.

One such who they have an eye on is a son born within them: Scar, who's recently has been going to the edges of the forest at dusk, and returning at the early hours with an afterglow of blush on his face.

Scar, well... he wouldn't dare tell them about the pretty vampire that he fell in love with, and who's been showering him in affection and the odd lovebite ;) every night.

He knows the stories and the warnings. Even as he grew up they talked about his recklessness, called him a wild child. They likely wouldn't even be surprised to find out about his relationship, but they'd hunt Mumbo down all the same.

Scar was distrustful of Mumbo at first, too! But the man is just... Genuinely sweet. He's awkward, a little clumsy, and Scar couldn't imagine him having a hidden agenda even if he tried. The vampire couldn't lie to save his life, which is why Scar needs to keep the relationship a secret. Mumbo barely even asked for his blood, Scar was the one who offered some!

One day, he'll follow Mumbo to his home. They'll live together, free from all these expectations and judgements. Scar just needs to make sure nobody will look for him first. He can't risk putting him in danger.

in the legend of Zelda universe all the Links' canonical names are Link right? like how common is the name link in Highrule?

like yeah the Zeldas are all named Zelda but she's a princess and royal people copying ancestors' names is pretty common. and Ganondorf generally has the same name(or a version of it) because it's the same person(seriously virtually every Ganondorf/Ganon are the same guy from Ocarina of Time). yet randomly some kid named link is always ready to save the day when the kingdom needs him, so how common of a name is it?

Look I love games that don’t lock weapons behind arbitrary systems. Legend of Zelda breath of the wild is a great example, you can just have a very high damage weapon early on in the game if you can bullshit your way through highrule castle. If you do something like that in elden ring you would have to grind for an hour so you can use a sword made of swords.

If you want to add a leveling system to your game please make most of your items useable after the player goes through most of the main story. I don’t want to go through a bunch of side quests or grind to use a lucky drop, it makes me feel unlucky.

So uhhhh future lore for MLUAU cause I just kinda seem to post whatever I'm in my feels over in the moment: Legend's kids! I just care them all so much and wanted to share quick, more info on each kiddo below the cut

I always kinda thought Legend would be a good dad and Arin agreed and ajskkd they shared the brilliant idea that he has a kid to represent each adventure from his games (I'm still not over it 😭)

So Glen (named after Links Dad) is inspired by A Link to the Past- he's got his dad's rebellious streak and a love for retro vibes

Aster is inspired by the Oracle games, he's a big softie and loves fairytales ♡ The Oracle games were a bit of a two in one deal, and Aster did have a twin sister, Autumn, but they lost her too soon.

Ivy is inspired by Links Awakening, she's a daydreamer with a big imagination and her dad's knack for music.

Sean is inspired by A Link Between Worlds, and is Glen's partern in crime. The two are buddies and get into all sorts of mischief together. Arin worded it best when they put it: the two poke into places both highrule and lowrule and must be stopped ajskkskd Sean's into a little more modern stuff than his brother though, super interested in sci-fi and tech.

And little Willow is inspired by Triforce Heroes! She's the most outgoing and emotional of the bunch, and is their little fashionista

Hmm well I’m thinking abt a lot of things with Zelda/Malon but mostly I think that after Zelda plays the ocarina and adult link is sent back, she would go around highrule and check on everyone to see what repairs need to be done. I think she’d run into Malon while Talon is giving her a tour of the farm and she’d hear her singing and be like 😳 and then Malon would turn and wave like 😏. Maybe after that they’d meet up in secret at night bc it’s not “proper” for a Princess to like a farm hand, maybe they even wear disguises to go get drinks in highrule castle town (probably just hoods bc I think sheik would draw attention?). In the kid timeline I think they’d meet while Zelda was touring highrule with the king and then it’d be a “childhood friends to lovers” thing (link would be their bestie too, he’d probably tell Zelda she’s crushing on Malon). Basically in either Zelda timeline Zelda would be like “I shouldn’t” but they can’t deny their attraction and then it becomes ~love~ and idk how but they’d eventually be open about their love for each other. I think of all the tropes I can add, and make it gay, and I swoon. Thank you for indulging my oot hc :’))

Inspired by @pastel-petticoats‘ Earth 54 New Gods, who were more godlike beings who incarnated & spoke through humans

In E136, This is much the same. The New Gods are beings of the Fourth World who incarnate into the mortal realm. This has ties to the greater creation story of E136, and a collected ‘Monomyth’ that inspires a lot of other myhts. (One hint about that, Scott Free is actually sort of a Lucifer-like figure, but with the specifics lost)

Apokalypse

The New Gods of Apokalypse mostly incarnate within the religious interstellar empire known, appropriately, as Apokalypse. Another facet of the Apokalyptan New Gods is Intergang, a cult masquerading as a criminal syndicate. Their ultimate goal is to find the completed Anti-life Equation, and bring the entire universe under their control. More & more of their incarnations have begun appearing on Earth
