High Rise Jazz Acoustics

The Doubletree by Hilton Hotel has an exciting bar on its twelfth floor of their Tower Hill location, called Skylounge.  Its lofty rooftop view was panoramic across the capital's sky scrape.  During Sundays between 3-7pm is the live lounge.  With light jazz sets with singers and live musicians performing we gathered with tourists and commuters alike to watch the breath taking sunsets.  With high seating tables and intimate couches and private seating areas, an outdoor viewing platform and terrace section. 

  As the sun set, candlelight took over, we saw London welcome the darkness with lights switching twinkling across the high rise buildings. With jazz classics belting out, the odd couple dancing, front tables enjoyed a view over the River Thames from the Shard to Canary Wharf.  Their menu comprised of afternoon teas, mezze style platters and lunch plates such as sea bass with roasted fennel.  Salads of orzo and roasted vegetables with pesto dressing and Israeli couscous with avocado.  Dessert had sundaes, with chocolate brownie bits and kirsch infused cherries.  There was a special cocktail created for the skylounge which included a coconut chai hot toddy and our favourite was gingerbread old fashioned, replacing orange for ginger syrup, warm and toasting for the cold outside weather.  Perfect for jazz acoustic enthusiasts, tourists snap opportunities or romantic rendezvous.
