Repost @organics.unlimited When you choose GROW bananas, you’re choosing to consume consciously as all of our bananas are fairly traded. This moniker gets thrown around a lot but we’re here to shed some light on exactly what it means for produce to be fairly traded. Companies with this certification have established ethical labor practices, provide fair market wages, and offer full benefits to their workers. In addition, it certifies that our farmers are not subject to unsafe working conditions. Since we operate exclusively organic farms, our workers are never exposed to harmful chemicals, protecting the health of, not only our workers, but the environment as well 🌿 . . . #farmer #organicfarmers #sustainable #organiceats #producefarm #coconut #coconuts #bananarecipes #healthyrecipes #healthyliving #delicious #healthyfood #wholefoods #eeeeeats #mexicanproduce #conciousconsumer #womanownedbusiness #highqualityproduce #highqualityfood https://www.instagram.com/p/B2iVFYDF7HC/?igshid=1ch185nptttaz

Bryan O'Hara of Tobacco Road Farm in Lebanon, Connecticut led a No-Till Vegetables System lecture at the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society's annual City Harvest meeting tonight. I worked on his farm in 2005 and 2012 - it is a few miles from my hometown, and is my favorite place on earth! Picture this: barefoot farming, lots of vegetable puns, a giant stone-soup style fresh salad laden lunch hour, and the deepest care for the life of the soil (think Indigenous Microorganisms, no-till practices, biodynamics, rock dusts) and the health of the plants and the people who grow and eat them (despite the catastrophic pollution, weather events, and climate change we are facing). #tobaccoroadfarm #pennsylvaniahorticulturalsociety #cityharvest #phscityharvest #notill #indigenousmicroorganisms #koreannaturalfarming #climatechange #highqualityproduce (at PHS : Pennsylvania Horticultural Society)
