Most of my Portuguese has rusted away, so all I can say is muito obrigada! I love Toby and Brad and hadn't considered their dynamic being similar with Jacob and Chase! True solidarity with some exasperated tol boys. 🤝 They can commiserate over their mini devils.

I was telling some friends about how useful the archive feature on Tumblr is, so I went to find an old post I'd reblogged and added to a while back. I wanted to update a couple of things in my reblog of it, but I kept getting an error message about the original post's reblog settings, so I then discovered that reblogs have been turned off. :( Anyway, here's the OP if you want to check it out, and my addition, which I hope is useful to some folks:
I highly recommend using your Tumblr archive on desktop (or mobile browsers)! Without it, Tumblr is kind of a black hole that eats anything you share, and I would never be able to find things I've posted or reblogged.
For folks who don't know how tags work in your blog's archive, you can search for any tag you've ever used and the archive will show you all those posts and reblogs in a handy grid format. For example, if I want to see the fics I've recommended, broken down by month, I go to (remove the spaces after the periods):
cacodaemonia. tumblr. com/archive/tagged/fic rec
Once the page loads, the url will read 'fic%20rec' at the end, but you can enter tags normally when you're searching for them. In other words, use spaces and don't worry about the %20.
You can also use the archive with other people's blogs, assuming they have 'enable custom theme' toggled on under blog settings (there's some disagreement about this in the OP linked above - possibly, you can see anyone's archive if they have certain visibility settings toggled? idk). So if someone you follow uses consistent tags for their art, fics, gifs, meta, etc., you can use the same url format above—just replace my username with theirs, and 'fic recs' with whatever tags you want to search for.
This probably seems super basic for a lot of Tumblr users, but it's something I figured out on my own after ages of being frustrated with the site's 'search function,' so hopefully this will be helpful for people who don't know about the feature.

Your analyses are the best. They are so fun to read and I over think everything afterwarrs
Thank you!
For analyses above my level, I highly recommend checking out these if you haven't already read them:
The two chapters of Kei Toda's Reading The Promised Neverland with a British/American Literature Scholar (2020) that have been translated into English by fans (Chapter 2: Religion by @thathilomgirl & @0hana0fubuki0 | Chapter 3: Gender by @1000sunnygo)
Anime Feminist's "Emma’s Choice: The gender-norm nightmare at the heart of The Promised Neverland" article (2018) (good follow-up to Toda's chapter on gender)
Jackson P. Brown's "Thoughts on… The Promised Neverland, and Black Women in Manga" (2018) blog post and Zeria's video essay/blog post (2019) on Krone's depiction
Jairus Taylor's "The Unfulfilled Potential of The Promised Neverland Anime" (2021) which made me more open to the idea of a remake of S1
For tumblr posts (some of these I'm linking through my blog because I either had a minor link addition or think the OP's/prev's tags deserve to be seen and rebloggable, but you can just click through to the original post):
@puff-poff's exploration of the demon world's culture (Part 1 & Part 2)
@just-like-playing-tag's examination of the farm system, Emma character analysis launched by a minute change in S2e02, and mini-Isabella analysis regarding her treatment of Ray (along with her blog just being a wealth of knowledge in general)
@hylialeia's post on the series' handling of Norman's plan/the oppressed and oppressors
@avadescent's analysis of the S2 ED album art (Norman and Emma are perpendicular; Emma and Ray are parallel.)
@linkspooky has a lot of analyses from when the series was running but special mention to this analysis of Norman's character
@vobomon also has a lot but special mention to her Norman is autistic and Norman has PTSD posts
@goldiipond's "Ray is autistic" essay
@emmaspolaroid with some of the best Emma and Emma & Isabella meta in general
@nullaby's post on Isabella and Ray's relationship

I heard about your friend...
I don't know if this helps, but I recommend that Apollo looks into jobs with housing (Bc some of them provide jobs for free/cheap).
I've heard coolworks.com specifically is pretty good for people escaping abusive situations, even if they don't work experience (and some of the jobs are also okay with re-locating from one state to the next). Just make sure to check reviews with glassdoor/indeed. I also know of aramark, delaware north, and vail resorts. But I don't know if they're as good.
_________________________________________________________
Also: tumblr blogs bitchesgetriches and yournewapartment have both adulting guides and 'how to get out of your abusive home' guides.
Other blogs with how to get out of abusive home guides:
risingphoenix87 (search: escaping and escaping abuse),
emotionalabuseawareness (search: escaping),
teaboot (#child abuse and filter to asks, and #abuse cw),
parentless-suggestions (search: abuse resources),
______________________________________________________________
Also: This post has some tips for getting hired/making a resume, etc with minimal to no experience. The notes and reblogs also have good tips (highly recommend reading the notes/reblogs on useful posts, bc they usually have useful info that OP may not have added).
https://www.tumblr.com/diamondflame/738256985878937600/its-so-weird-talking-to-people-whos-view-of?source=share
Another tip: the library is a pretty good place for interviews. In some libraries they'll even let you book a quiet room if you have a card.
Other options are the car or a really quiet room at school/college (not recommended tho)
Ohh, thank you!

Hi everyone,
This October (2023) I'm doing Girl Month! And I thought tumblr might appreciate the content lol.
Im a cis-ish het-ish guy and I'm taking this opportunity to experiment with my gender and also just have some fun! Actually to be more specific I have a couple of goals:
Work out if I'm trans! I mostly think im not, but sometimes I wonder...
A friend who will remain anonymous highly recommended the nipple sensitivity you can get from E, and that actually sounds so much fun
Honestly in general im curious about the effects of E and it sounds fun
Girls are hot. Ergo, being a girl is hot.
F1nn5ster is controversial, for both valid and invalid reasons imo, but all I know is that when I watch clips of him and his GF i'm like "damn that guys living the dream"
And of course, to have fun
The Parameters:
For the duration of October I will go by a girl name, either "October" or "Charlotte" and She/Her pronouns.
I'm going Op shopping today for girl clothes, which I will wear fulltime (or as much as possible).
I will be taking estrogen daily, supplied by my transfem housemates. I may also try T blockers but we'll see, apparently they can fuck you up a bit.
I'm getting waxed- at least my arms, legs and chest, possibly a full brazilian
In terms of makeup, I already paint my nails but I'm also planning to try out lipstick and mascara at least. Also planning to dye a purple streak in my hair.
The following exceptions apply:
Obviously, I can stop at any time, and will if this starts severely impacting my mental or physical health or social life. I'm going to specifically check up on myself at the end of every week to make sure I'm doing okay.
I will be Boymoding for my parents, my work and associated work events, for obvious reasons. Otherwise I will maintain girlmode in public and among friends. My cis-het friend groups might be a bit weirded out but fuckem they can deal
Uuuh Estrogen will be delayed until Wednesday bc i have a blood test.
I also have the following Girl Month Sidequests- bonus tasks I'm hoping to complete this month:
Have hot girl sex with a girl
Have hot sex with a guy
Have hot sex with a trans person
If you're interested in following my journey and are 18+, I'd love to have you along! I'll be posting updates, thoughts, feelings and face-censored selfies!
Please only 18+ though- while this isnt planned to be a p0rn blog or anything (and jfc i hate that I need to use TikTok speak on tumblr) I am planning to overshare about some NSFT stuff. If you're overage but don't want to see that make sure to block the tag "#girl month nsft".
My askbox is also open to all :)
Uuh I also want to close by saying that while I'm probably(?) not trans and just having fun, obviously I fully support Trans Rights. Trans women are women, trans men are men, enbies are super valid, y'all are all really cool and this event isn't meant to mock, appropriate or invalidate y'all. Terfs DNI.

hi I'm the op of that webweave you just reblogged. currently going insane over "if you are the sun then surely I'm a kind of moon" which as far as I can tell is just an organisational tag on your blog? I'd like to know, is it a quote from anywhere?
yes!!! it's from a song called I run away by one of my favourite bands, summer underground! They're pretty underground (pun intended) but I absolutely adore them and rave about them every chance I get, I highly recommend checking them out!!

A Treatise on why Label Policing is Bad
Alternatively named: I do have reading comprehension, you're just a goddamn adult who somehow doesn't know that people can disagree with you for fully thought out and informed reasons and not be a bad person.
I'm kinda tired and don't wanna get riled up because I have work early tomorrow morning but I don't wanna forget to make this post so I'm just gonna jump right into it. I got in a dispute, here's the context for the post in pictures:
(Under the cut because I know this is going to be a long one, but please read if you have the spoons because I think it's important)
The original post:
The self-reblog from OP continuing the rant:
And my response:
You could argue I was asking for OP to get mad at me and write a big post then block me. You would probably be right, but I thought it was important. This IS where radical feminism starts, and I thought it was important to point that out and warn people against it. Also if you've been with me for a while, you know that label anarchy is my whole schtick. I do not stand for label policing, it's just simply one of the worst offenses in my world.
Anyways they answered back. I'm going to go through their answer point by point because they (and some of their followers who anon'ed me) really thought they got me good and disproved all my points. And I still think this is an important subject, so I will gladly take the chance to elaborate my points.
Nope, next question. No, but in all seriousness, there is a huge difference in being frustrated about how people are perceiving a label that you're using versus trying to define that label for everyone else who uses it.
Newsflash: people can use labels in different ways! Label fluidity 101 example is bi vs pan. People use these labels for different reasons and there is so much overlap that there can't really be a solid difference between the two that encompasses all the reasons someone might choose one over the other. Hell, maybe they just like the flag better.
You don't have to be a label anarchist like me to concede that point (although I do highly recommend, being a label anarchist is a blast) and if you understand that, then there's really not that much of a jump to understand why someone might want to microlabel (e.g. bi lesbian) or why someone who might more accurately be described as bi might want to use lesbian as a descriptor instead.
Part of being queer is finding joy in identity. Would you really deny someone else that right?
Gonna be real with you, I don't do background checks when I'm reblogging. I did a cursory glance of your blog just because I was doing a long response and wanted to be sure you weren't actually just a terf. Sue me.
Couple points here. One, words are made up, and the definitions of them are constantly evolving. I'm a writer so I'm absolutely more obnoxious about this than other people, but if you want to change the definition of a word, literally all you have to do is use it in that way enough, and people will understand what you're saying. Especially with identity words.
Two, who is "we"? Lesbians in general? We are not a monolith. I am one, and I don't agree that it's a hard boundary. I do agree that in the general sense of the word, used in it's truest form, it excludes men. That doesn't mean it's always used that way, for the aforementioned reasons.
Three, jesus christ I can't believe you're doing the one where you imply that me saying words are made up is what makes men rape women. Biphobia was created on that fallacy.
See above: bi and pan example. Bi lesbian and bi can be functionally the same label, but for some people, the former is just a more comfortable descriptor.
Nah, I advocate for both microlabeling and macrolabeling because literally none of it matters or hurts anyone. People should get to identify however they feel suits them best. That's part of the joy of being queer.
Also, as I mentioned, I'm a writer and I LOVE playing with words. I'm also a philosophy nerd which might explain why I'm so fucking cerebral about it all. Not everyone has to be like me in regards to how they view labels, I understand that I am absolutely the extreme, but everyone should be allowed to because, I repeat, NOBODY IS BEING HURT BY IT.
I ignored that part of the post because I am not a men's rights activist. I thought Barbie 2023 was too nice to the Kens in the end. I'm a misandrist (ok that's mostly a joke). That part wasn't for me.
Heh, just plain wrong. My college, which I have attended for the past three years and where I am currently in my last year, has an over 70% queer population. Not gonna dox myself, but it's well known for being one of the queerest schools in the US. I am constantly talking to Real Actual Queer People face to face. Also I'm mostly on tumblr for the fandoms. This is just my queer sideblog.
I'm an English major, bro. Reading comprehension is kinda my job. And that's a lazy gotcha by the way, that's just the easiest way to discount someone who you disagree with on the internet. Be more creative.
Also DNIs are kind of a hazy concept tbh. The DNI was listed on your pinned post, not the post which I reblogged. In hindsight, you may have put it in the tags of the original post, as all I saw was a reblog, but you have to understand that the internet as a whole is kind of moving away from DNIs because they're so nebulous and weird and hard to follow. Also I thought your post was problematic so I wanted to say it. The morality there is kinda shaky, I'll admit. There, one point for you. I don't regret it.
Something tells me you don't actually wish me the best...
+ bonus the tags
Don't have time? This is a pretty long post. Though to be fair I don't have the time either, it is way too late for me to be up responding to this, so I'll give you benefit of the doubt.
I am a full time student and work two campus jobs, plus have rehearsals and clubs most nights. I do admit to spending a lot of time scrolling on tumblr, but at least I'm not embarrassed by it like you seem to be.
You are four years older than me, not ten. You're not even 30 yet. Chill, ok? And maybe don't go around throwing the kys word when talking to someone you disagree with on the internet, someone might take it the wrong way.
For some reason I don't think you were laughing typing up this reply...
Anyway, that's it. I spent way too much brain energy on this, but it was important, so if you made it this far, thanks for putting up with my rambly ways. If you saw a typo, no you didn't. I'm tired.

Hi, I see you have reblogged the post about the "queer indie and self-published book list" and I just want to let you know that those slides are mine and I did not allow anyone to repost them. I should have put a watermark on them so I guess that's on me as well, but I just wanted to inform you of this. They didn't even give me credits :'(
Wow did not see this ask, didn't mean to leave this for a whole month- so sorry about that, and sorry that happened to you. It's always such a dick move when people think 'publicly shared' means 'fine to just straight steal'.
Here's the post from OP, I highly recommend taking a look through, see if anything catches your eye!

Hiyah! Im sorry to interrupt you for a while, I know this might come strange but I just wanna ask for some help if you can maybe possibly take a look the post I pinned for my lil cat, we’re in desperate need of help so a reblog/boost might definitely help us a ton! I hope you’d consider but if not, its okay and I do understand! Wishing you good health and stay safe! Pls send me a msg for a response or answer the ask privately. 🙏🙏
so are u like a real human person running this scam or are u a bot
red flags that this is a scam, for any confused readers:
asking me to respond in private? what?? if a person wanted me to “signal boost” (which would be dumb bc my blog doesnt have a large following), they’d typically ask me (or a more popular blog, if they were smarter) to publish the ask or reblog their post so my followers would see it
the asker’s archive is turned off but a quick scroll thru their blog reveals that they’ve only been an active user since yesterday. (first post reblogged at (per my time zone) 6:11am on sunday, donation post made at 6:29am on sunday. yeah.)
the vast majority of their posts are pulled from one fandom tag (the last of us), and most of their reblogs are directly from the OP of the post, which is not how a “normal” tumblr user operates
no original posts by this user except for the one asking for money
(bonus: no tags on any reblogs)
two different names on the donate post: @Evan-Naeher for the venmo but Austin Tuck for the paypal. if ur gonna lie on the internet at least keep ur story straight <3
and, for people who genuinely need help, i HIGHLY recommend checking out some charity subreddits instead of making a donation post on tumblr; a random_acts_of_whatever subreddit is Dedicated to giving posters in it money, and will be frequented by people who WANT to give money, whereas a tumblr post asking for donations that circulates often winds up just being considered annoying, because people don’t typically expect or want to see a post asking them to spend money on a relative stranger on their dashboard.
#catblr#cats of tumblr#aash-aash#aash aash#i’m as much for helping ppl as the next guy but tumblr is just NOT the place for it tbh#ESPECIALLY if ppl like this are gonna try and game the system and tumblr users’ general credulity#scam warning

This is going to sound slightly disconnected from what OP is saying, but since Star Wars and Dune were brought up as one being the rip off of another, I'm guessing there's still some people who don't know why that is the case. Going to write a bit of my thoughts on this, since I've spent the better part of the last couple of days looking into this topic, by which I mean "The Hero's Journey".
So, most people probably already know this, but the reason why Star Wars and Dune have similar story structures is that both George Lucas and Frank Herbert drew a lot of inspiration for their stories from Joseph Campbell's work. There was this great post that came across my dash a few days ago, linking to some resources that explain who Joseph Campbell was and how his work has affected the entertainment industry, with some very heavy and well-deserved criticism. Here it is, I highly recommend checking out the videos:
After reading the article linked by the op of the above post, I went to look for other places that criticized Campbell's idea of the monomyth. I found another excellent write up on it, and ended up liking it even better than the first article:
I think what I like the most about this is that the author included his sources at the end, which are very easily searchable.
Another useful link I found is an article written by an actual folklorist (who cites even more sources!) about a discussion that happened on Facebook about Joseph Campbell's failings:
This last one lays out the main reasons why Campbell's idea of a single myth should be rejected in a really easy to understand way. Please take your time to read through at least this link, I promise it's worth your time.
Anyway, here's my summary of all this: Campbell's monomyth is based on myths and stories he analysed, removing them from the context they were produced in, in favour of his own white, cishetero-normative, ethnocentric interpretation of them. Sometimes, he ignored key details of them to be able to fit them into the model he created, or ignored other stories that did not fit into the pattern.
The reason this is bad is because by removing cultural practices, in this case the stories and myths, from their context, also strips them of meaning. The act, the intention, and the message of a story or myth all have meaning behind them. The meaning is deeply rooted in the culture in which that story exists, and it only has meaning because there is a system of codes by which a meaning can be attributed. By taking away the meaning, Campbell inevitably creates a representation of those stories in order to fit his model, which doesn't correspond to the reality of the stories and their respective cultures.
Culture is praxis. Reducing all myths and stories to a single line of events that happen to a character, regardless of culture, creates an idea of universality that doesn't exist in practice, because each culture is a different system of codes that give meaning to their practices. By creating the notion that there is a single story structure that synthesizes all others, Campbell eliminates the diversity present in each culture and erases the narratives that they create for themselves… and puts in place the narrative he created for them. To tie into what I just said, the last link I will put in this post is to Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie's TED Talk, "The Danger of a Single Story":
youtube
I hope I've been able to make my point on why we should definitely move away from The Hero's Journey. But, going back to the entertainment industry:
Campbell's monomyth did not influence any of the myths that he analysed, obviously, but a lot of cultural products have been influenced by it. Star Wars is what actually popularized his work for the first time. The reason for this, I believe, is because things that are easily reproducible and fit into a mold are seen as an easy way to make money, following a sort of industrial logic. You know the deal, formulaic Marvel movies, big box office numbers, blah blah blah. Just because a lot of movies follow the structure of The Hero's Journey it doesn't mean that they are all ripping each other off. Personally, I think that is a ridiculous notion. They all have their own individual worth because they are fundamentally different stories, about different characters, and the messages they send are also different. Star Wars sends a completely different message from Dune, and it's not Campbell's seriously outdated one-story-structure-fits-all theory that will detract from their value.
There's a tweet that's gone viral where a person laments realizing that Star Wars "ripped off" Dune, and how learning all the elements Star Wars took from its inspiration tainted it. And I think it shows how poisonous the emphasis on originality in art can be. Because yes, it's wonderful when art makes something new, but it's also wonderful seeing how art plays on what came before, and the conversations it has with its predecessors.
There's going to be a lot of people talking about how much of an impact Goku from Dragon Ball Z has made on fiction in the wake of Akira Toriyama's recent passing, and all the characters who were inspired by him and his story. But Goku himself is derivative - he's inspired by the Monkey King from Journey to the West, one of the first novels ever written. He's far from the first character inspired by the Monkey King, either, and also far from the last.
None of this makes Goku's impact any less than it is. None of this decreases how Goku's story has inspired countless imitators. Just as Toriyama created a new icon from imitating what he loved about Journey to the West, so did Toriyama inspire countless artists to make their own iconic works with his take on the Monkey King's archetype. Goku is, in many ways, the heir to a legacy that spans back to the 16th century, and likely beyond - because I doubt the original Monkey King was formed in a vacuum.
We're taught to think that originality and imitation are opposites that cannot coexist, but they're not mutually exclusive. One can follow in another's footsteps and still take a new journey with its own unique twists and turns. The great works of art are not spawned in the absence of inspiration - they are in conversation with what came before and what will come after.
#god i hope that sounded as coherent as it did in my head#anyway if you want to know what i based this on#i used concepts from jean baudrillard; stuart hall and zygmunt bauman#but just to be clear#even if a story is just following the hero's journey it CAN be a blatant rip off of another one#christopher paolini i'm looking at you#Youtube

This blog 101
[Voor de Nederlandse versie van deze post; zoek ff op "Dit blog 101"]
"Enchantée! You found a nerd of the Victorian, Edwardian and history at large, mainly Dutch history. Look around, you may find some fun stuff. :) I mostly use this blog to reblog or to dump stuff here I found in old Dutch books. Normally I'd annoy my friends with that, but they didn't like it. Hopefully Tumblr is more fond of my findings. ;)"
That was the original intention of this blog. Now it has turned into a rando Tumblr blog about all kinds of things! But I'm not planning on doing anything about it. EMBRACE THE RANDOMNESS OF TUMBLR!!!!!! And scroll down far enough and you'll actually find some real fun stuff from Dutch history.... ;)
If you speak Dutch, I also highly recommend checking out my Wordpress;
On there, I write longer articles about historical rabbit holes I have fallen into. There is some really cool stuff on there! Especially about the formation of Dutch culture and Dutch society. Real tin foil hat stuff, but it's all true and historical! Real fun. ;)
Profile pic on here is my great-greatgrandfather Cornelis Hendrik Herman Wisse (1877 - 1954).
Here's my basic tag system because there is a bit of order in the chaos (but I am absolutely one of those "my tags are a mess" type of people);
rant = longer text posts
NS = stuff about trains
Christianity = stuff about christianity
religion = stuff about religion in general (also for esotericism and spirituality)
(Dutch) history = stuff about history, also tagged usually with the period in question
hot people from the past = self-explanatory
Tumblr = for fun Tumblr stuff, especially posts I never thought I'd encounter in the wild (seldom used though lol)
[soms others I forgot about and I'll add in the future]
That's it for now. Hope you enjoy my blog! :) <3
Oh, I don't have any DNI's, I just don't really like confrontation. For example, I'm an atheist with a fascination for religion, especially christianity. But please don't try to convert me. That's never gonna happen, no matter what you say. I have heard it all. But if you're willing to look past my atheism, we can have some real fun and cool conversations about theology or ecclesiastical history. (Or make a tier list of Bible Books or whatever. It doesn't have to be deep.)
Same with politics. I hope the fact my DNI is at the end tells you enough about me. As long as you're nice, I'm pretty sure we can get along. Even if we disagree on, like, fundamental moral things... Don't let that stop you from exchange ideas with me. <3

I was cleaning my other blog tags and noticed many posts have their reblog turned off (What made me make this post was when someone made a note in their OG post and edited it. Turning the post off because it breaches out of containment but also noted that other people have made lists and other whatnots and that we should check those posts out and basically encourage us to reblog their list... not knowing, we can't).
It's kind of sad to see those post turn their reblog off (some posts were actually good posts). I get it, the notifications clogging up your feed and getting very annoying but also here is some info in case you didn't know.
I learned this myself when I was making a post. If you are the main poster and you turned off reblog. It will forever be off for everyone. Does not matter if others have reblogged it onto their blog. The reblog will forever be off for you and everyone (unless you turned them back on).
If you reblog a post but are not OP it will not affect the OG post however no one will reblog it from your blog.
Someone has found a way to stop notifications when your post becomes popular... literally delete the post. I'm not kidding, the post will live on however you will never see that post ever again.
I actually highly recommend deleting a post if the notification is becoming too much for you and you want the post to live on.
Turn a post reblog off when...
The info is no longer relevant or You made a mistake in the post and you want to correct it / don't want to spread misinformation (only do this when someone has already reblogged it)
It's a *personal post and you don't want anyone to reblog it (Yes, it's a thing to ignore a post when you see someone post something personal. Still, respect that it is a personal post, and don't reblog it. I just highly recommend with this new feature to turn the reblog off when making a personal post but really it is up to you if you want the post to be turned off or not).
It's a post that you no longer want it circulating but still want to keep it.
That's all I could think of. *about the personal post part. If someone is encouraging you to respond to their post as in welcoming any insight, that is alright to respond but, if someone is just venting... Please for the love of god DO NOT reblog it. Have some damn respect, so what if they have their post rebloggable that does not give you the right to reblog their vent and frustration. If it's a funny haha please laugh with me or give me word of advice/hugs. Thin ice but fine. Just flat-out vents and is in pain and does not need anything at the moment. DO NOT REBLOG.
If you turned a post reblog off but someone has it queued up or scheduled. The post will still post. I have many posts that have their reblog off for whatever reason queued up and posted. However, as I said earlier, the reblog is turned off so no one can reblog it.
If this does happen to you and you feel sick constantly seeing it and thinking that you are being tortured by it (yes, I have seen a user admit they felt like they are being tortured by an old post because of it being queued up and scheduled)... literally, delete the post.
The moment you delete the post. You will not see it ever again. And even better, if the post reblogs is off and you delete the post. It's a dead post... unless someone screenshots it. BUT it's a dead post. Like permanently dead.
If you have any questions, don't be afraid to send me an ask. Enjoy making posts however you please but remember, if you make a post but decided to turn off the reblog but still want the post to be alive... it's best to just delete the OG post instead of turning it off for everyone.
#tumblr#did you know#ta-da#features#hopefully this will help people understand that if you are the OP and you turned off reblog on the post no one will be able to reblog it#it's sad to see good posts have their reblog turned off but I get it. Wish we could mute a post really.#Idk probs just a dream I had but I remember we had an option to do that. To just mute a post. idk props a dream though.#A really good damn dream :'|

Where to start as a plus-size lolita (part 1)
I wanted to make a big post about where to get items (at least starter items) when you’re a plus-sized lolita. I know my whole blog is dedicated to finding stuff but even that can be overwhelming. I wanted something people can refer to if they feel a bit lost or want something safe to return to if they feel confused. I will be talking about my personal experiences throughout these so do with that what you will. All of the products I talk about are on my blog and each post has links on where to purchase them.
THIS LIST IS BY NO MEANS COMPLETE, THERE ARE MANY MORE BRANDS THAT HAVE INCLUSIVE SIZING.
These are a small group of shops I think are good. If you have any questions or want more shops my blog has several and my ask box is open.
Before you continue please remember:
♥️ Measure yourself in CM! Do not just read XL and think it is plus-size friendly!
♥️ Make sure you have money in your budget to get the item you want!
♥️ Building a wardrobe takes time and money. Please be patient.
♥️ Custom clothing takes a significantly longer time to make. Please be patient.
Notes:
Budget-friendly: Anything 35$ and under (note: please remember to count for overseas shipping when necessary, these are for base items only)
(#)cm is the rounded max size (in either bust area or chest
shoe sizes are typically in EU sizes, please check a chart and measure yourself
With those out of the way, here is a list of places I recommend getting Lolita basics.
Blouses:
Sakurada Fawn: 130cm, Budget Friendly, Taobao
Sakurada fawn has a variety of blouse types in several different colors and styles. The bust max is typically 130-135cm and styles range from gothic to sweet. These are perfect for going under JSKs and are comfortable as well.
Glitter Tale: Custom Sizing
Glitter Tale is a brand that makes custom blouses (as well as main pieces). Everything is 100% custom and you just have to give them your measurements (IN CM). They have blouses in different fabrics, colors, and styles so you will not only have a perfect fit but it will match wonderfully with your coords. They also have amazing customer service.
Main Pieces (JSKs, OPs, Skirts):
NSG Lolita: 130cm
NSG Lolita has beautiful main pieces with sizes that range to around 130cm in the listings but people have reported the sizing being very generous to allow possibly even more room.
Violet Fane: 125cm
Violet Fane is an indie brand Located in Spain that has a large size range. Their main focus is Classic and Gothic Lolita. However, they have a small side brand called Sumiere that will be focusing on more sweet themes. Max bust sizes range to around 125cm~.
Cheese Cocoa: 110cm, Budget Friendly, Taobao
If you are looking for cute cheap sweet dresses then cheese cocoa is a great start, especially for beginner lolitas. Most dresses are around 30$ and are perfect for those who are just starting out. Bust sizes max out at around 110cm.
Hard Candy: 130cm, Budget Friendly, Taobao
Hard Candy has a huge selection of styles, from JK, Kawaii, and even Lolita! Their lolita is more casual sweet or gothic, but their clothes regardless of what you buy are extremely comfortable. Max bust is an average of 130cm but it can go higher or lower depending on the product. They also feature plus-sized models which is a very nice and needed touch. I personally own several skirts and dresses and the quality is great, especially for the prices. I highly recommend them to anyone who loves j fashion in general and is plus-sized.
Petticoats:
Aurora and Ariel: Custom sizing, Taobao
These are some of the most reliable and comfortable petticoats I have personally ever worn. They have custom sizing with a variety of colors shapes and sizes. If you are looking for a solid petticoat to wear often, the Daily Petticoat is an amazing beginner-friendly option.
Shoes:
Cotton Candy Feet: 46EU
Cotton candy feet is an indie Brazilian brand that makes custom-made shoes (as well as bags and other accessories). Each style comes in different colors and is tailored to your foot needs! Sizing maxes out at 42BR (US12/EU46) so there is quite a size range.
An*Tai*Na: Custom sizing, Taobao
This brand has been making custom shoes for an extremely long time! From Mary Janes to boots they have a huge selection of shoe types and sizes that go all the way up to 52EU!
Boleros/Cardigans:
Little Dipper: 120cm, Budget Friendly, Taobao
This Taobao brand has cardigans that’s are plus-size friendly with a max bust of around 120cm! These cardigans and boleros are very soft and short and compliment your coord nicely! They come in dozens of colors and are a nice budget option.
Coats:
HMHM lolita: Custom Sizing
HMHM has a pool of coats that you can get custom sizing and colors for coats (as well as some other pieces like blouses and JSKs).
Strawberry Witch: Custom Sizing
Another brand that has coats that have custom sizing. They also have some dresses and other pieces.
Legwear:
Roji Roji: Thick Leg Friendly, Budget Friendly, Taobao
Roji Roji has a wide selection of tights, socks, and more with different prints and patterns. You’re sure to find a pair that matches your coords! The fabric is extremely soft and stretchy and doesn’t warp the print too much! So the little creatures on your legs won’t be crying out in pain!
Accessories:
Morning Glory (bags): Taobao
Morning Glory has extremely versatile, sturdy, and overall great quality bags. Many can switch between a crossbody bag or a purse and they can fit a decent amount of things inside them. They also range from Gothic to Classic to Sweet. Keep an eye out for new releases!
~❤️~
I hope this was helpful to some people. Again this is just a small list but this should give you a good start. I’ll be making more parts in the future about some do’s and dont’s and what constitutes as lolita. Possibly some tips on how to save money or how to coordinate?
I should just make a YouTube channel at this point…

Just stumbled upon this reblog and loved the OP's nifty way of creating a zine so I went to try it out myself.
Anyway, if you're into podcasts and mature dark genres of fiction, I highly recommend you go check out OP's blog. To be sure, make sure you're at least 18+.
2024 Fiction Podcast Zine Festival
When: The entire month of September, 2024
Goal: During the month of September, make one (or more) zine of any quality, that is in some way related to fiction podcasts. You can share it using the tag #fiction podcast zine event
On Zines: A zine is a paper booklet that can function as art or an informational pamphlet. These are traditionally very cheaply made and hand-folded.
Zine vs Art Book: Sometimes, fandom or personal projects function under the title "zine" to produce glossy, professionally printed projects. These are more often elaborate, gorgeous group art efforts, and more art books than true zines. You could make one of these if you really wanted to, but I'd encourage you not to, and instead spend just a spare hour (quick), afternoon, or weekend (long) on it.
What should it be about? Whatever you want, so long as it is related to fiction podcasts! Click here for a list of suggestions, or ignore those entirely.
What medium should I use? Literally whatever you like. Hand-drawn/written zines that can be photocopied are traditional, but digital art or documents are fine too. You could experiment physically with all kinds of mediums, too.
Do I have to make them printable to contribute? You do not! While I'd encourage you to if you're able, you can also just make one for yourself.
I want to make something, but it won't be very good. Do it anyway.
I don't own a scanner/printer/copier but would like to make use of one. Any suggestions? Associates who work in offices and schools might be willing to scan or print them for you. You can also check your local library, post office, corner store, and university (in that order, probably). The first three will often charge a small fee for printing, rarely more than 20c, the last will definitely charge a fee higher than that.
Hey, I've got something to add! Let me know! If you have advice to give (to me or more generally speaking), or useful resources, I'd appreciate you sending it my way.
Resources:
Wikihow: How to Make a Zine
Google drive folder containing personal templates (.docx) for one-sided and 2-sided 8 page digital zines.

some tumblr basics for any new mcyttwt twitter refugees:
- first and foremost, have fun!! we are here to have a good time and to be respectful of everyone :)
- do not engage with media if you don't enjoy it?? most important rule of thumb, not just on tumblr but everywhere! do not come into someone's ask box to criticize them, just block and move on, it's best for everyone. and the block feature is a lovely thing, feel free to use it if something makes you uncomfortable
- make sure to tag your posts if they have triggering material so people who have that tag blocked won't see the post!! ex. tw death, tw unrealization, tw discourse
- reblog reblog reblog!! especially if it's art or fic, likes don't help op get more exposure unlike on twitter, so it's important to reblog content to support them :)
- we don't really "trend" anything, it doesn't work that way. ex. instead, don't try trending "tommy pos", just fill the tag you want with positivity!
- we do not really cancel people here! we aren't restricted by a word limit so discussions on cc's actions are a lot more in-depth and we do our best to criticize respectfully. if you would like to engage, respect boundaries and be kind! consume media critically and understand the dangers of cancel culture and the differences between criticism and education
- only the first 5 tags or so actually help you show up on the search page so don't overtag anything! also do not tag dsmp stuff with mineblr or minecraft! instead, use dsmp, mcyt or with cc ign, tommyinnit, wilbur soot, etc. we are a large fandom and we need to be respectful of our tags so we don't accidentally overrun another fandom's tags
- @smp-boundaries is a fantastic resource if you ever have questions on cc's boundaries! i highly recommend everyone to give them a follow and check them out in order to make sure you're respecting cc boundaries. there are also some fantastic cc update blogs and lore summary blogs that you might want to follow
- this might be old fashioned advice from a tumblr/internet veteran, but don't put your real name/age/location in your blog! pronouns and a nickname as well as > or < 18+ works just fine! tumblr is more anonymous than other sites, so you don't have to be "yourself" on here if that makes sense
- just respect tumblr culture and ask if you need help understanding something! respect us, we'll respect you :)
if anyone has anything to add, please feel free! /gen
