My work for the High ☆ Voltage collab.
The project was organized by and for Italian artists (arcanumwhispers_ on IG, arcanumwhispers on X ) to celebrate Miku (and Vocaloid in general) and Pokémon, inspired by the recent Voltage Project!
As always when I draw Pokémon my priority is to try and portrait the fun and carefree feeling that they give me. And since Miku and psychic Pokémon were the theme I thought that they would probably spend more time dancing and singing rather than training for real.
Hope you like it!
Take care!

T&B Advent Calendar, Day 8
8th - What do you want Tiger & Bunny to collab with next? (Collaboration in this context is a collab with another property, such as a company like Sanrio, a store chain like 7-11, restaurant/fast food chains, games, and similar)
POKÉMON!!! 🥺🥺🥺 I want something like the Voltage High Hatsune Miku Project, in which each hero gets a super cool piece of art where they're depicted with their partner Pokémon!!! 🤩🤩🤩 With a bonus where the Buddy pairs are matched with Legendary duos (Keith and Nathan, of course, get Lugia and Ho-Oh. 🕊️🐦🔥)

Hi!
For the high voltage ask game: #14 (ghost type)
Have a wonderful day! 💖
Since you didn't request a specific character, I decided to draw Freya from Chobits!! A literal ghost in the machine... the robot girlie who had 01 on her arm before Miku was even born...

Earnestly and honestly, Pokémon and Miku mean so much to me and The Pokémon Inside My Heart by PinocchioP captures exactly my feelings for them so, so perfectly.
I know that PinocchioP is one of the greatest Vocaloid Producers ever and none of the songs in Project Voltage have disappointed me, so I had extremely high expectations for this song and it still managed to surprise me.
This is by far my favorite of the Project Voltage songs so far, which is saying a lot because I've absolutely adored every single one of them. This song just makes me feel everything I knew Project Voltage could make me feel and more.
I love Pokémon, and I love Vocaloid. Thank you, PinocchioP ⚡💙⚡

So this is what Hatsune Miku would sound like singing through a Moog Subharmonicon.
The little white synthesizer is the Gakken NSX-39 "Pocket Miku", a stylus-based synth using the NSX-1 Vocaloid chip. It's in a mode where it uses Miku's voice to sing solfege — "do", "re", "mi", and so on — based on the tapped notes. If the volume of one of those sung notes is loud enough, it triggers the two Sigma slew limiters, which are tuned to output different subharmonics of that starting note. Which subharmonic is playing changes in time with the s&h module. (A deeper explanation for that is under the cut.) The three tones — Miku's voice and the two divided down signals — combine to create randomly changing chords.
We're exploiting the Sigma's Trigger input. When that input receives a trigger — the front edge of a high enough signal — the module produces a signal that's then slowed down by the Rise and Fall settings: the output goes from its lowest point to its highest point over the duration set by the Rise knob, and then back down over the duration set by the Fall knob. This process is how a function/slew limiter works as an AD envelope generator or an LFO.
To work as a frequency divider, you pass a repeating signal into that Trigger input, and it again does its rise and fall thing. Because the envelope isn't retriggerable, if the rise time plus the fall time is greater than the duration between the input triggers, it starts skipping them. The basic case is that you're skipping every other trigger, and your output now has a frequency of half that of the input — or, if you're working at audio rates, the output is one octave lower, because those are really the same thing.
The CV inputs are set to lengthen or contract the whole cycle proportionately to their input voltage, so when the random voltages of a s&h are given to it, the cycle changes the factor by which the frequencies are divided. Since the CV is attenuated to different degrees on the different Sigma modules, you get differing amounts of frequency changing.

Weekly Vocajournal #53 (11/11 - 17/11)
Happy belated Pocky day!
youtube
iyowa (orig. inabakumori) - Denki Yohou (bachibachi remix) (ft. Hatsune Miku)
In a fun bit of producer interaction, iyowa and inabakumori traded remixes of their Project Voltage songs (here’s inabakumori’s remix of Journey's Prequels, Journey's Traces)! For another high-profile remix this week, there’s also Omoi’s version of DIVELA’s METEOR.
Pinocchio-P - With or Without Me (ft. Hatsune Miku)
Uplifting song that I consider a spiritual sequel to I’m Glad You’re Evil Too. The lyrics talking about trudging on despite feelings of worthlessness make this a timely song for some.
YADSUKI - Em Chopper Sense (ft. Yuzuki Yukari) [flashing lights cw]
Nothing hits like good Yukari rock! Featuring cool slap bass.
Haruma Ryouki - STYLE (ft. Hatsune Miku)
The above, but for solid voca-electroswing. First experience with this producer, looking forward to checking their catalogue!
Hiromoto Hiraishin - Uten Shikkou (ft. LOSA-chan COEIROINK, Kaai Yuki)
The above again, but for slow rock poemloids. Not gonna lie, I still think COEIROINK is a silly name for a software, but it’s opensource (think UTAU but for talkbanks) and the voices I’ve heard from it have been good so far (once again I am begging you to listen to 暗駆り、陽刺し、輝く。) so I can’t really complain.
Astrophysics - FODE NO BAILE DA MIKU 3 (ft. Kasane Teto SV, Gumi, Hatsune Miku)
Last in the series of Brazilian funk songs by this producer, which I have missed for the past couple months it seems. Not a genre I'm familiar with, but it's always nice to hear vsynths in local genres! The lyrics are also apparently pretty filthy but I don't know any Portuguese to confirm that.
Other Cool Stuff
Haru-ichiban - Fusessho (ft. Hatsune Miku)
dim - Burial at sea (ft. Miyamai Moca)
EasyPop - Petrichor (ft. Megurine Luka)
Kazunami - TaTaTa (ft. Yuzuki Yukari)
Haniwa - Ashita ni wa Yokunaru kara ne. (ft. Zundamon, VOICEPEAK Female 1, Nurse Robot_Type T)
Zig - Konya wa Funny Back (ft. vflower, Hatsune Miku)
Kaneko Yuuki - Koufuku Kentoukai (ft. Kasane Teto SV)
Murata Shiyuu - Sekkyou (ft. vflower, Kagamine Rin)
HiFi-P - Night Owl Museum (ft. V.I.P (KAFU, SEKAI, RIME, COKO, HARU))
Fuyuyakata - Futago Tsuki (ft. Kagamine Len)
Noy - After Period (ft. Hatsune Miku, vflower)

Project Voltage personal preference tierlist. Within the tiers are the order of preference as well, from left to right.
I value pushing the definition of what constitutes 'Miku', so Steel, Ice, Poison and Rock get S-tier. Flying and Ground do that too, and I will defend their right to "be Miku", it's just that I feel Flying needed a clearer theme and Ground a more interesting outfit.
Dark goes down a tier for having too much Zatsune Miku vibes -- it uses very predictable 'edgy' visual tropes for my tastes.
Fairy is in top tier however because it does use its visual tropes effectively; the design is just that visually appealing. It's cute and it works.
Fighting is down a tier because while it is an interesting design and concept, I am very disappointed that the Fighting-type did not result in a physical bulkier Miku. The fact that hers is the slimmest and sleekest out of all them makes their avoidance of thicker bodies all the more insulting.
Ghost is high in the A-tier because even though it is a remixed V2 design, the use of colour gradients and transparency to communicate lighting and texture is so impressively done. Her limbs terminating into empty space where her sleeves and thigh-highs start is just *chef's kiss*
Psychic is cute, but its typical Miku schoolgirl-ness combined with the similarly typical starter trainer style makes it less impressive overall. The appeal of its colour scheme and art is what's keeping it in B-tier.
Fire has the same problem that Flying has, except its need to "be Miku" with its incongruent blue hair makes it less appealing.
And finally, Dragon is in D-tier because it represents the problem of trying to resemble Miku the most: the V2 colour scheme is poorly synthesized with Miraidon's, its silhouette is shattered with superficial spike ornamentation rather than using a more cohesive visual pattern, and its "futuristic virtual singer" theme is muddled by the "knights & dragons" secondary theme.

Since voltage is doing their pokemon Miku collab, and weve already seen two pieces so far, I kinda wanna predict what pokemon she's gonna have for every single type!! Since the first two are Meloetta and Rillaboom, it's pretty easy to assume that all of the pokemon she's gonna get will be sound/music themed right? So Lets go through our options for all the remaining types!! Normal: Whismur line, Audino, Chatot Water: Quaquaval, Lapras, Tympole, Primarina Fire: Baile Style Oricorio Electric: Pompom style oricorio, High-key Toxtricity Ice: Lapras, Jynx, Mr Ryme/Galarian Mr Mime Fighting: Quaquaval, Meloetta (again) Poison: Roserade, Low-Key Toxtricity Ground: Flygon, Palpitoad/Seismitoad Flying: Chatot, Noibat/Noivern, Bug: Kricketot/Kricketune, Rock: Roggenrola, I guess. Ghost: Sensu Style Oricorio, Dragon: Flygon, Altaria, Noibat/Noivern, Dark: Obstagoon, Meowscarada Steel: Bronzong Fairy: Jigglypuff, Kirlia, Sylveon, Primarina,
These are all the ones that would make the most sense to me! Which ones would you wanna see?
