absolutely wrecked by hohr episode 46 and i can’t figure out where to put all of my thoughts so i’m gonna yell into the void here

UFCKKKKFUCK FUCK FUCK FUCKK omg my sweet darling lovely boys oh god oh pls be okay pls pls be alright

like legitimately i’m so worried, i know they’ve been on one life beforehand but smth about henley losing that glove feels really precarious and i don’t think dave will actually kill one of them but this is BAD, GUYS

first of all, brilliant episode. wonderful acting, horrible rolls, great all around. fantastic job.

second of all, i’m so angry at them because they are lovely and make me want to CRY.

my god these two love each other so much and it’s been great to watch the evolution of that but oh my GOD this one just really hit home. it might just be the tone of voice or maybe i’m just overthinking it but the tenderness in this episode was so amazing, you could just HEAR the care they have for one another.

and then we get to the fucking torture scenes and oh my goodness. gluebrick saying that the way they should torture henley is with flowers and tickles and “nice, friendly things”. henley saying that the best way to torture gluebrick was to hurt HIM, and then that immediately being proved true when they start beating him up and gluebrick panics. they go to hurt gluebrick and henley says that it won’t bother him, which chris at first took offense to but was actually henley’s attempt to dissuade them because he hoped they’d think it wouldn’t be a successful tactic and they’d leave gluebrick alone. the utter TERROR in chris’s voice when they cut off the glove, and immediately giving up on the plan and offering information (that he didn’t have) so long as they spared him.

also, when gluebrick’s tail gets cut off, he’s immediately sad that they aren’t tail buddies anymore. once he’s reminded that henley still doesn’t have a tail, he quickly shifts and is very excited to be “tail-less buddies.” the whole tail buddy saga throughout the whole series is fucking adorable. anyways.

“you know i believe in you, right? you know i think you can handle anything?” and henley betting his son’s soul on gluebrick winning the fight against tyson because “i believe in you.” just gonna leave that there.

and then henley escapes. very henley moment, we worry if he’s gonna make the selfish choice and break out, but he gets all of their things and starts to head back. while he’s doing so, he’s chanting his little “everything’s fine” mantra, which we know is completely false and is his automatic response to any bad feelings he’s dealing with, so he’s clearly upset. he’s desperately trying to hold it together until he can fix this.

dave gives him the option of completing their mission, of going into that “important room” and finding the documents. henry specifically says that making the decision to go to the room would be for the “greater good”, but he decides against it. gluebrick is more important to him then the resistance and, consequently, the layer as a whole. and it’s phrased almost like a no-brainer. ughgghhfgfhhhhhhh. that whole moment felt very much like the bit from the end of byebarian when we got the 5-seconds-forward thing and gluebrick saw that henley was going to die, and made his decision to sacrifice himself without needing to think. these two are so ready to throw everything away for each other GODDDDDDDDD don’t get me started about that episode i could on for HOURS

and THEN we have our lovely little reunion, the utter joy of “you came back for me” and the straightforward “of course,” henley trying to justify it as him not being able to complete the mission by himself, and gluebrick immediately acknowledging how much they mean to each other. “it’s nice to know that someone loves you as much as you love them.” henley doesn’t refute this. he instead just says “you don’t need to make a whole thing out of it,” and then they do their whole masculine awkward brushing it off thing. gluebrick suggests a high five in place of holding tails, and before they can even do that it’s almost like he can’t STOP HIMSELF from hugging henley (chris??? the line delivery on that bit?? HEARTBREAKING). they’re VERY annoyed when their moment is interrupted, but immediately jump into action to finish the job.

AND THEN WE GET TO THE FINAL SCENE. henley is trying to find the documents, and is failing. gluebrick gets taken down. instead of using his final round of action to potentially save the integrity of the resistance, henley leaps to try and help him. yes, he fails, but the decision was made. and they’re both pinned to the ground, reaching for each other as they get put under once again.

just…..the GROWTH. gluebrick realizing that his purpose in life is to use his strength to protect people and deciding that he’d literally do anything for his friends (“my happy boys are my everything” from ep 41). henley, while he may not be great at saying it outright, has accepted how important the happy boys are to him and would offer himself up for torture in gluebrick’s place. the fact that we went from “we need to have a conversation about gluebrick” to THIS is insane. criminal levels of sweetness. they’re so STUPID and they LOVE EACH OTHER SO MUCH. it’s sickening. i’m obsessed.

and you just KNOW that whatever happens next it’s gonna hurt even more. we’re gonna have yet another rescue mission, and i’m just hoping that these two idiots can keep each other safe in the meantime.

the most important sabres videos from the 2022-23 season so i can cheer sabresblr up

because it is vital that we remember this year!!!!! this is the team that made us love sabres hockey again, no matter how far they didn't go.

now, in no particular order:

exclusive day with rasmus dahlin

what a GREAT way to start the season, truly!!!!! one of the first embeddeds we got featuring multiple members of the team, and UGH it gave us so many iconic moments. krebsy telling dylan he'll work him all day and that he's a fucker (muted for the children's sake). the chirps from everyone!!!! dylan and peyton literally encouraging each other to cheat just to try to beat ras. gave us some great character moments and really just gave us a good inside look into what the team dynamic is like and how much the guys love each other.

2. what a great day to be mic'd up | best of sabres mic'd up from december 2022 (actually from like february lmao)

lots of good moments from this one!!!!!! maybe not a fave for everyone, but certainly for me. lots of skinny and sammy in this one, and again it's just the daily interactions for me! i love to hear them talking about stupid things like gum and "too strong" is a classic dylan moment. it's just some silly good practice fun that makes me smile :)))

3. between 2 stalls

you all know and love it, i've included the whole playlist because every single one hits in a good and different way. it's absolutely the funniest thing the sabres have done media wise this year. it deserves an emmy and jeff skinner best leading actor or smth. i will pay good good money for more of these next season because they are hilarious. give me owen power squirminng while being questioned by jeff please and thank you.

4. hit the boards | owen power and ukko pekka luukonen

two soft and gentle giants not understanding that this is supposed to be a competitive series!!!!!!! you are not supposed to work together, you are supposed to compete!!!!!!! highlight of this one is owen getting "explosive diarrhea" way too fast and not being able to speak spanish. all with a small little laugh and smile along the way!

5. can't keep the beast in the cage

the fact that this is just a run of the mill presser that ended up creating a nickname, chirps in ANOTHER unrelated presser, just proves how good this video is. i mean what more can you want, it's just an excited kid ready to get out there! and we all need more devon levi in our lives if we are being truly honest.

6. sabres react to meme tweets

an ICONIC piece of media right here, i swear!!!!!!! "can you send me that?" so sammy can use this against them in the gc. jack quinn not knowing how to read allegations. tyson jost being so wholesome and hyping up his buddies. tommy dangles if you know you know. AND OF COURSE "daddy tuch".

7. jack and jj give the sabres holiday gifts

part 1 of this series is also a GEM, but unfortunately due to the 10 video attachment limit, i can only include part 2. highlights from part 1 include them buying owen a million gifts, dylan cozens' anger issues, them breaking a poster display because they don't know how posters work, and deciding to get gifts just to piss people off. part 2 however is this and MORE!!!!!! we get to see mostly EVERYONE get their gift! tage's this is slay moment was memed so many times, owen was overjoyed with his gifts, and let's not forget that "this is what the holidays are all about!" not to mention, sammy being the only one to get a fucked up gift made him so mad he decided he wanted the three pound gym weight

8. at home with casey mittelstadt, rasmus dahlin, dylan cozens, and jacob bryson

i'm honestly just here for dylan trying to hide from the camera and having to show up to "pay his rent" via being on camera. he also brings like a shit ton of water with him?????? AND "juicy lips" is a top 10 dylan cozens quote of all time. "they gave you pimples" too.

9. owen succumbs to peer pressure

aka the boys tell owen to take his hat off and let the flow go, and in true ferda fashion he does. of course, OF COURSE, the resounding cheer after is deafening and this is one of the best actual pressers from this season because of it

10. what's in the box

the first truly viral sabres moment from this season !!! ending it kinda where we started tbh. i STILL laugh about this moment, from the "i think it likes me" to the TENDER dylan/tage hand hold to peyton proudly pronouncing he knows his poops...this is just perfect. it set out all the narratives for the season and gives us an amazing glimpse into the boys. sabres socials set the bar high with this one and continued to meet it for the rest of the year

other honourable mentions include: tyson jost + others doing community work (highlights include tyson being wholesome and owen's awful rat photo being called unrecognizable), the la entourage trip (jack quinn speaking. that's it, that's the tweet.), sabres choose owen power's goal song (jack's loud proclamation of fearless and kyle's singing), how well do the sabres know their moms (owen being a momma's boy stands out here), matt savoie mic'd up (this one is self-indulgent and just for me), and owen and ras' podcast interview (shocked owen can speak for an hour straight without literally curling up into a ball and hiding; and also bagged milk)

so there you go!!!! hope this cheered you up like it did me. i love our boys as always and can't wait to see what they do next year!

Okay! I finished reading the tyrants tomb and over all! I liked it a lot! Of course there are inconsistencies, some mistakes on Rick's side, and of course things that I didn't like because I'm a mythology fan, but whatever, the story kept me going and I finished the whole book in a day (which I usually don't). So! Here are my thoughts, in no particular order:

- My queen Reyna was SLAYING! Literally y'all! I've never loved her more!

- All ships please step aside, the only true ship we need is Apollo x Arrow of Dodona

- seriously though can we appreciate how encouraging the arrow was?

- ugh Ugly Sobbing at Jason's funeral! UGH!!

- again. JAASOOOONNNN!!! 😭😭😭😭😭

- Oh god Apollo go ahead and adopt Frank already!

- When Frank said he can't imagine a world without Apollo in it! My heart made a somersault and exploded into dust!

- I mean lets be honest, literally all the Apollo Frank interactions were good & wholesome

- LAVINIA! I love her! aksjekwkw! Lesbian! Yes!

- Meg and Apollo! MEG AND APOLLO! Meg saying she doesn't wanna lose Apollo too! Apollo saying she was like his own lil sister! 😭 I can't! So pure!

- OH ARTEMIS FINALLY FUCKIN CAME! But why you leave arty, not fair :/

- I was sad to see Peaches weak! He gets better, hopefully!

- I'm really glad Apollo said that even as a god he didn't like issuing prophecies he didn't even want to hear for the sake humans. It really gives insight on why Apollo neglected oracles in the first place. Boi was just! so! tired!

- yo Apollo's monologue about his love life had me fucked up, I was so sad when he asked himself if he had ever kept his loved ones safe.

- coming to know about Apollo's past problematic actions had me like, yeeeah boooiii, here we goooo

- Oooohhh Apollo being called out for what he did to Koronis 👀 that was some good shit. But I hope that, while remembering what a dick Apollo had been to her, the fandom will also remember that Artemis was also fucked up in this case.

- (also I don't think Apollo knew Koronis was pregnant? still, definitely shouldn't have gone that far)

- I didn't like how Apollo called it a "curse" on the sibyl. It wasn't. She asked for immortality and he gave her. When she refused him, Apollo didn't curse her, he just pointed out how she'd grew old as usual like a human, and hence suffer from old age. (But yeah his well intentioned gift itself became a curse to her so-)

- Idk why Harpocrates was ever connected to Apollo, it made no much sense from mythological point, but whatever.

- Apollo being a bully seemed odd to me but then I remembered the gods bullied each other all the time (Apollo even mentioned that they were ready to kill each other)

- Harpocrates x sibyl though?? Idk I laughed way too hard but the way they ended was really beautiful

- WHEN REYNA LAUGHED! Omg I was experiencing second hand embarrassment for Lester but gosh I'm so glad it turned out the way it did. I really liked that scene!

- I don't know how to feel about Reyna joining the hunters, but I'm not complaining.

- I LITERALLY CRIED WHEN I FOUND OUT FRANK IN FACT ALIVE AKSJEKSJJSSJ my baby boy! He is alright after all!

- The whole healing Reyna's heart kinda fell flat to me... I mean it was good, but I guess I had higher expectations (not ApolloxReyna, ofc, but like,,,,something else,,,idk what)

- it's sooooo strange that Apollo doesn't have Roman kids. On the whole, it seems like Apollo doesn't do well in Roman pantheon, even his sister is distant from him there. Since he is the same in Greek and Roman form, I think he actually witnessed all the time how much the gods change, even the ones close to him (Artemis). It's like, he is constant while everyone else is changing. That's kinda sad. I wonder if the Roman side of his family gives him a harder time?

- I know I was big on "no romance for mc in this series" but you know, I'd like to see Apollo being happy in love for once. At least at the end of series. Ugh. Idk Rick, bring Hyacinthus back to life or give us Litpollo or smth please. (I'm p sure I'll change my mind about this later lmao)

'kay, from here I'll be speaking outside the series, so if you don't wanna read a mythology nerd ranting about how badly Rick Riordan needs to have a mythology lesson on Apollo, skip this part! (I completely acknowledge RR's right to interpret the gods as he wants, but I'm still bitter™)

- I really dislike the way Rick writes Apollo! He's the god of knowledge ffs! He'd know a lot of things! He is Lord of wolves! He should know the language of wolves! Like it's so fuckin ridiculous when he says I'm the god of prophecy doesn't mean I understand all prophecies. Though you can give the excuse of his limited mortal memory, it still seems like Apollo's smarter side is being downplayed a lot by RR.

- He's also one of the bravest gods, so when Rick writes him being scared / having memories when he was scared even as a god is 😒

- The whole "oh I never regretted this until now", "I never thought of this until now" seems very exaggerated and honestly, very fake. Apollo has lived for so many years. He has been human before. He spends a lot of time on earth to not know certain things he didn't know in this book (and series). He is one the friendlier gods, you'll find so many cases where he helps mortals in need. He is the protector of children and youth too! So like this entire "I came 10 years after a mortal prayed to me", "I didn't think demigod lives actually valued", "I didn't know humans felt like this" sounded like F grade bullshit to me. It is gods like Apollo, Hermes and Dionysus who would actually know mortals better than any other gods.

- just basically the trend of Rick Riordan writing off gods as ignorant being who never cared for anyone irks me a lot.
