❤️ RED HEART — what are three of your oc's positive traits?

OPSTIMISTIC — Maura’s the perpetual optimist. She always has been. Even in the midst of a global, apocalyptic outbreak event, she still manages to see the glass half full. It’s probably annoying to some of the people around her, but it’s the reason she survives. It’s the reason she survives the outbreak, survives the Quarantine Zone, survives captivity, and survives running for her life; the light at the end of the tunnel kept her waking up every single morning to face another day.

COMPASSIONATE — There’s good in everyone, Maura thinks — even the people that held her captive and tried to break her spirit. Working as a paramedic (and later as de facto doctor in Jackson) has opened her already giant heart to just about everything. She’s a natural caregiver, even to her own detriment, and all she wants to do is ease suffering. It’s all she’s ever wanted.

SOCIABLE — She just loves people. Like, so much. Maura’s a talker, a conversationalist, a warm presence in a not so warm world. She loves her work, because it means she gets to talk to just about everyone in Jackson at one time or another, and honestly? They’re better off for it too. She makes people feel welcome and wanted, even if just because she knows how to make small talk.

💔 BROKEN HEART — what are three of your oc's negative traits?

NAÏVE — As much as her optimism and compassion serves her well, it also opens her up to danger. In all honesty, Maura is incredibly naive. She believes the best of people, even when the best doesn’t exist in them. That bit in Pittsburgh, when Joel and Ellie are flagged down by the hunter pretending to be hurt? Maura believes that. Maura trusts that. And trusting everyone is what gets her held captive by a group of hunters for a little over a decade.

COWARDLY — Maura endures things because she is afraid. Once she’s settled in Jackson, the people who found her ask her why she stayed with the hunters for so long. Why didn’t she run sooner? Why did it take ten years? Why? As embarrassed as she is to admit it, the reason is that she never had the courage to. She allowed herself to be used for so long because she was afraid of what would happen if she tried to leave. That’s not the only example of cowardice getting the better of her, but it’s certainly the biggest — and something she knows she needs to learn from.

SELFLESS — I hate to use something perceived as a “good” trait like this is a job interview, but when I say her selflessness is a negative trait, I mean selflessness in the most unhealthy way. Maura is kind to people and gives whatever she can to help them, but she doesn’t know when to stop. She’s never known when to stop. That viral quote about someone overwatering flowers because they didn’t know when to stop giving? That’s Maura. She’ll drain herself for another person if they let her.

🔺 RED TRIANGLE POINTED UP — does your oc know how to use any weapons?

God bless her, but not really. Maura is so deeply conflicted averse and for so long didn’t even have access to a weapon that her skills are severely neglected. She did learn basic firearm handling at the beginning of the outbreak when she started working for FEDRA in the QZ, but those skills are so rusty by the time she’s settled in Jackson and made a life for herself that it’s almost as if she never learned at all.

Tommy did teach her how to use a bow, and it definitely suits her more. She just prefers to never have to use it — and lucky for her, she’s never really had to.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 FAMILY WITH MOTHER, FATHER, SON AND DAUGHTER — how many people are in your oc's immediate family? how many people are in your oc's extended family? do they have aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents, etc? who in their family are they closest with? are they close with their birth family, or do they have a found family?

Maura’s birth family was always really small. Her mom, Hazel, was a young, single mother, and Maura was her only child. Maura never knew her dad — not even his name — and the only other family member she knew was her grandmother, who passed away when she was a teenager. For a really long time, Maura’s family is just her and her mom. No aunts, no uncles, no cousins. Just her and her mom, and she is deeply close with her mom.

Hazel dies in the initial outbreak (at least Maura thinks she does — she never gets to find out one way or another), and it’s the family she finds that fills the void in her heart.

There’s Zach, a man she meets during her time with the hunters. He’s part of their group, but he doesn’t belong a bit, and he’s ultimately the person who encourages her to escape, even though it means leaving him behind. In a different world, she and Zach would have fallen in love, but this version of reality wasn’t as kind to them. She never sees him again and isn’t sure he’s even alive after her escape.

Tommy quickly becomes her best friend when she finds herself in Jackson, and then, after disgusting amounts of pining, her partner. She marries him five years before the game events, and he is easily the most important puzzle piece of her found family. He’s her everything — confidant, cheerleader, guiding light.

And of course, there’s @corvosattano’s Maxine, who becomes something like a sister to her, and not just because she’s her sister-in-law. Maxine is everything Maura isn’t, and it’s their differences that make them click so well. Maura admires her strength, her courage, her quiet bravery and determination. I don’t think Max would say any of those things about herself ever, but Maura sees them in her, and she loves her for them. (Sorry to wax poetic, Macy. I miss them.)

There’s plenty of other members of that found family, of course, but those three are the ones that shaped her the most. They filled an empty, aching void in her chest when she needed it most.

i really really really like that elora, bear, willie jack, and cheese are all still friends in the end. none of them got together romantically. theyre really close and they love each other so much and theyre friends. i was so afraid that when bear and elora had that moment in the chapel they were going to confess feelings for each other but they didnt. theyre friends and they love each other and arent afraid to say it. they hugged!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and theyre friends!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HI RED THANK U FOR THE ASK!! i have some old sketches of the places that i can walk you through, it's a very elaborate setup but it's been in my brain for years at this point so i'm very passionate about it LMAO

i wanted to make vitali's current home in the sims but while i was in the middle of creating the open space for the first floor my laptop crashed and the graphics card shat itself so after that i never picked up the game anymore </3 so i'll just have to work with the sketches because i didn't even get the chance to take any screenshots of it :(

had to remove the picture because tumblr wouldn't make my post show up with it </3 but basically, when vitali moved out for the first time, his apartment looked kinda like this: he had an entrance at the very bottom of the apartment with a large closet directly on the left, a mismatched kitchen next to it, and a desk on the other side. his living room (top left of the layout) consisted of an old couch, coffee table, side table, and a mattress on the floor which he used as bed. he also had a balcony which was positioned above the living room if you're looking from a top view in the width of the apartment, but he only ever used it to sit outside and smoke, the plant pots there remained empty for the whole time he lived there. his bathroom (top right of the layout) had no door (bottom of the layout, so closer to the entrance) and instead had a curtain in front of it; sink on the left, toilet next to it, and bathtub and washing machine on the other side against the wall

it was a pretty spacious apartment still despite being very small, but it was in very poor condition. basically everything that was connected to water was leaking so he could only take showers because otherwise the bathtub would just flood the whole bathroom, the washing machine stood in its own tub that he had to empty regularly, and he had towels on the floor under both sinks as well. there was mold and the paint on the walls was peeling off, and the insulation was basically nonexistent and the walls were paper thin so there was a lot of noise, it was always either chilly or kind of stuffy in there, no ac in summer and sort of working heating in winter but not ideal. basically

when he worked at arasaka he moved into a corpo apartment which i do not have a sketch of, but it doesn't really matter much anyway. it basically was as if he lived in a luxurious ikea showroom, never really put any personality in the place because he didn't feel at home there anyway and he was glad when he got to leave the place behind

he currently lives in wellsprings on the pier, in the penthouse of the apartment building next to megabuilding h2 :] it's a ground level and a first floor and he currently lives there with vincent and mikhail, and their three cats nibbles, sapphire and buttons!

here's a rundown of what everything is!

the entrance with space for coats and shoes on the right! directly next to it are two small rooms, the first one is a storage room and the second one is a toilet

the living room! it's a wide open space with very comfortable chairs and a big couch, enough space for all his friends for movie nights and such :] despite the size of the place he has a reasonably sized tv stood on a tv table, with gaming console connected to it for vincent and mikhail. the outer rim of the living room has a few steps up and is elevated above the rest

the kitchen, which is much bigger than he had in his first apartment. vitali loves cooking and loves having the space for it so this is the perfect kitchen for him, maybe even a bit too big, but that works well when he's in there with others and needs to navigate around. he has a kitchen island with barstools which serves as dinner table, but usually they all eat on the couch

bathroom :] both a tub and a large shower (easier for his leg), washing machine, toilet, and sink!

mikhail's bedroom! he has a bed that rests on top of a frame that's on top of storage cupboards on the floor, that's where all his clothes are. the room has a large desk for him to work at

vincent and vitali's bedroom :] vitali sleeps closest to the door. there's no desk in this room, mostly just storage space because they don't come there a lot except for sleeping and sex

big balcony with sitting spaces, big planters with plants, and a swimming pool with hot tub. vitali doesn't even use it himself but his friends LOVE it for obvious reasons. the whole outer wall of the penthouse on that side (the living room part) is made out of glass to let in as much natural light as possible

directly next to the stairs there's a bar and lounge area, with a balcony situation that overlooks the living room :] vitali sometimes hosts client meetings in his home rather than at the crest (his fixer office on the other side of wellsprings) so that's where he sits with them to relax after business

vitali's office! very spacious with sliding glass doors (that whole inner wall on that side is glass), he also has a big window behind him. he loves having natural light in his house

spare bedroom with two bunk beds for if there's people staying over for the night

spare bathroom for guests :] toilet, sink, and shower setup, nothing too fancy

he got the place before his leg became an actual issue but he refuses to move so for the upcoming years he still very stubbornly uses the stairs but especially later on he just doesn't really go upstairs much anymore and instead does work on the couch. later he gets one of those stair lifts because vincent keeps telling him to do so and that works much better for him :]

when vitali ends up getting his wheelchair for the bad pain days, he would mostly just stay on the bottom floor that day because he refuses to move elsewhere. the penthouse is entirely too nice he doesn't want to get rid of it. and i understand him tbh i would live there

Wow, BONES has gotten some legs this year, eh? Thanks so much for the tremendous amount of lovely feedback and sharing y'all have done - I am always interested to hear what people interpret the story being about, or what it means to you.

If you're new to following me, hello hello and thank you double! My name is Jackie, I make comics and illustrations and lots of other things. On tumblr I post just about everything art related, but if you're interested in ramblings or following me on other platforms, please check out my carrd which has all the relevant links - including my ko-fi if you feel like being particularly generous.

For other comics I've done, Kay and P is the story of a girl who's best friend is a skeleton - but no one can see the skeleton but her! Jus completed a few years ago, this mammoth webcomic hovers in the 1000 page range, so buckle up for that one.

My other webcomic is The Adventures of Lady Skylark, which is a sky pirate adventure romp about the lovely Lady recapturing her stolen air vessel from her sneaky first mate and getting embroiled in some dispute over an artifact. This one is a much more modest 200ish pages, ha ha.

🩺 - viktor vektor

mikhail and viktor are mostly just co-workers but they get along very well! meeting was a little bit awkward for them at first because mikhail doesn't say many words and viktor had already heard everything there is to know about mikhail by then from vitali LMFAO but they saw each other often enough to have more conversations and they enjoy hanging out together :]

they mostly bond over their medical knowledge, mikhail still wants to go back to school to get his phd (which he does eventually!!) so he spends a lot of time working together with viktor to learn more from him and to sharpen his skills >:^) viktor is very excited about being able to teach someone more things but also he would never admit this out loud. but vitali knows. vitali knows everything. he's not telling mikhail though

it's also interesting to note that mikhail sometimes struggles with english but whenever he's hanging out with viktor and they're talking about things he knows a lot about, he will have NO trouble at all with expressing himself and saying what he wants to say. viktor has always been very patient with him and also knows russian AND polish so they can also often be found speaking either of those languages with each other <3

🥢 - jackie welles

it's funny because jackie and mikhail would have known each other from a pretty young age because of both of them being besties with vitali but their lives were mostly just parallel to each other. they didn't see each other very often and whenever they Would see each other they were both a little bit 🧍‍♂️ about it for reasons neither of them could really explain. it might have had something to do with the fact they both had complicated feelings for vitali which they never worked through or talked about with anyone and the radius effect of those feelings dealt psychic damage to each other whenever they'd be in the room together. who knows!!

either way, both of them knew a LOT about each other but all of that information came from vitali which is also probably why they were never really all that great of friends. it's difficult to bond with someone when you already feel like you've known them for very long and you can recognize their face but at the same time that's just a complete stranger to you. it's very sad because both of them would have wanted to be friends and they were both trying to make more of an effort when vincent showed up but before anything could really happen, the heist took place and jackie died and now they'll never get the chance for that anymore :(

🥃 - rogue amendiares

as already mentioned in another ask, vincent nearly cried when he first met rogue WSHJGFDGDFHJ but that was mostly because he was so exhausted and scared and then rogue started asking difficult questions when he was already shaking like a leaf in the first place and he just ;-;

rogue wasn't sure what to think of vincent at first because he didn't look like a mercenary to her and she wasn't sure what to think of everything he had told her. however, she also grew to like him because of how seriously he took every gig he got from her and he was trying very hard to get on her good side. vincent mostly did that because he was intimidated by her and didn't want to piss her off, but he also just thought she was very cool and wanted to be friends even though it didn't seem very likely to him at first but they did end up becoming friends :]

when johnny was still in his head, vincent would also occasionally talk to him out loud- a habit he couldn't get rid of and while other people would mostly just let him do that or sometimes even shot him weird glances etc, rogue would often ask what johnny was saying and if he was being a cunt she would tell him to shut up <3

i have done some reading and i Think. i Think. they would get along alright?? possibly?? vincent IS very enthusiastic about music and though not knowing a lot of things about it himself he would love to hear kerry tell stories and stuff. vincent is basically everyone's hype man at all times so it's very hard to dislike him SHGJFDGHD

i think they could definitely bond over like, having to deal with johnny and all that. sorry i'm being very vague here i don't know what this man is like i'm just saying words. i feel like their friendship would be like. kerry picked up a stray (vincent) from the streets and now they hang out sometimes. they go grocery shopping together. vincent occasionally gives kerry a cool rock he found

THE GIRLS ARE FIGHTINGGGGG these two bitches hate each other's guts so fucking much. god bless <3

basically johnny just saw vitali as a corpo cunt for most of the in-game events and never bothered to change his opinion until he realized that vincent was very much in love with the guy and then. well. he was still very >:^( about him but at least he wasn't calling him names at any given opportunity anymore

likewise, vitali just saw johnny as an intruder in vincent's body and treated him as an unwanted guest the entire time he was there. the fact that johnny was scaring vincent made vitali hate him SO much and he holds serious grudges so he's still very >:^( about it

nowadays, if they were to meet they would both be very :^| about it i think. johnny would most likely be scared to get his ass kicked by vitali which is. a reasonable fear. vitali wouldn't do it but he would be thinking about it constantly. i know this

at some point they do in fact meet in real life because of the whole "johnny being downloaded to vincent's phone and then getting a body" thing and vitali mostly just tries to stay away from him. johnny by then has grown to respect vitali but the feeling isn't all that mutual, vitali still doesn't trust him very much and just doesn't want to get involved in all that <3

You woke up to a knock at your door slowly getting up you peeked out your peep hole seeing Wade also looking through your peep hole. 

Opening the door Wade greeted you hugging you tightly “honey bun! My favorite sweetheart! My amazing baker! Love of my-“ you blinked in confusion “um Wade” you called out, he looked down at you “yes?” “Could you not shout please” Wade nodded “right I forgot it is pretty early” 

You walked over to your couch plopping down as Wade went to your kitchen “hey Honey bun!” He called out, “yes?” You hummed clicking on your tv “do you think you could help me with something!” He walked back into the living room “yeah…yeah sure” you yawned, Wade sat down beside you wrapping his arms around your torso pulling you into his lap.

“So…you’re a baker right?” You glanced at him a chuckle leaving your mouth “yes I am” he nodded playing with one of your hands as your other one flicked through different channels. 

“So I was scrolling on the internet trying to blow one off when I saw this great absolutely beautiful cake idea….and I was wondering if you could make it for me?” You nodded “sure what is it?” You asked looking at him “cinnamon roll cookies.” You stared at him trying to make sure you heard him correctly “what?” He shook your shoulders “please Honey bun! It’s would be great!” You grabbed his wrists “alright…” 

Getting up you looked down at him “when do you need it?” He grew excited “yay! Okay, um by tomorrow ” “Wade!” You whined, he grabbed your shoulders “first, don’t whine my name like that it’ll turn me on, second pleaseeeee! It’ll be great!” He rested his chin on the top of your head poking where your nipples would be “I miss your eating your desert….that could mean two things” You grew flustered swatting away his hand. 

“F…Fine but I’ll need to go to the store first” you hummed, Wade gave you a cheesy smile “thanks honey bun bye now!” He hurried out of your apartment as You sighed.

Waving bye to him you yawned “Alright bye Wade, if you want you can help out and tell Logan I said hi!” He shut the door leaving you alone, you started to get dressed for the day. 

Leaving your apartment you went off to the store. 

Your eyes scanned the shelves trying to find the right ingredients you only need two more things why were they so hard to find?! You felt a light tap on your shoulder turning around you spotted a taller male with black hair he was kinda handsome “am I in your way? I’m sorry” the male shook his head “no but were you muttering about brown sugar?” He asked. 

You gulped embarrassed that you were muttering to yourself in public “oh um yeah I can’t find that or cinnamon for some reason?” You frowned, the male looked in his basket “if you want you can take mines” he offered a friendly smile on his face. 

You shook your head “no, no it’s alright” he handed the brown sugar to you “no it’s fine you can take it” he stated you grabbed the bag “you sure?” He chuckled and nodded “yeah I’m sure you probably need it more than me” he reassured, a smile graced your face “thanks you’re a real life saver” He waved you off “oh stop just trying to help, I’m Jackie by the way” you placed the sugar in the cart “I’m Y/n” you replied.

You both made friendly conversation a few laughs being shared between you too “so what are you making these for?” He asked, you placed the cinnamon in your cart “making cinnamon roll cookies for a friend he has a sweet tooth” the male seemed to make a face at the word ‘he’ leaving your mouth.

But he ignored that and nodded “sounds delicious, reminds me of the cinnamon rolls I had at this cafe a while ago” he stated, you glanced at him “oh what cafe” he thought for a moment “(cafe name) they have really good desserts” you perked up at the mention of your cafe “that’s my Cafe!” He laughed “you’re lying” you shook your head “nope just opened it a month ago glad you like my stuff” you smiled nudging him with your elbow. 

He blushed lightly, you bought your things “hey um you need help carrying that?” He asked you nodded “yes that would be nice thanks” he carried your bags luckily the apartment wasn’t far from the store. 

He helped you bring your things up to your apartment “alright thanks Jackie hope to meet you again” you stated placing your things inside “wait um Y/n…” you looked back at him “would you wanna grab a drink later maybe around 9 maybe 9:30?” He asked.

You blinked “oh I don’t know I gotta start working on these-“ “please it’ll be great I promise” he hummed, you thought for a moment “alright that’s if I can get these finished before then” he nodded a smile growing on his face “wanna trade numbers?” You nodded pulled out your phone.

“Okay bye Jackie” you gave him a side hug shutting your door, he walked away a grin plastered on his face. You sighed “okay let’s get started.” 

You wiped the sweat from your forehead as you carefully wrapped the cookies checking the time you saw it was close to 9 o’clock. “Oh no” quickly you pulled off your clothes to go freshen up. 

You slid on your party dress it was a dark red and backless, you hadn’t worn it in a while so it was a little smaller the end of the dress just making right below your ass.

You put on some jewelry and styled your hair, sliding on your kitten heels you grabbed the tray of cookies and your purse. Going over to Wades apartment you knocked lightly on the door, it opened revealing an annoyed looking Logan.

You were already hot enough seeing you in that outfit really made him feel a little hot “where are you headed?” He asked, what did you need to be this dressed up for you were already sexy as is?

You glanced up from your phone “hm? Oh I’m going on a date” Logan felt a harsh jab in his chest “…a…date?” He questioned, you nodded “yes so can you give these to Wade please-“ “peanut who are you talking with- oh my ragging boner, Honey bun?!” Wade shoved Logan aside “you got all dressed up just for me” he placed his hand on his heart “that’s so cute but that’s gonna be off in a matter of seconds” he said taking the tray of cookies.

You shook your head “oh no um I’m going on a date” you explained, Wade froze “I’m sorry what?” He looked confused “I’m going on a date but tell me how the cookies taste bye see you in a bit.”

Wade stopped you “wait, wait, wait, you’re going on a date?” You nodded your head slowly “yep so I have to go-“ Wade frowned “but we were supposed to hang out…” he sounded so heartbroken, felt that way to. 

You sighed “I’ll be back in a bit we’re just getting drinks” you explained, Wade waved you off “no, no go be with your Prince Charming that’s more important than me, than us!” He pouts grabbing Logan’s arms who quickly swatted away his hand. 

You frowned “it’s not like that Wade” You looked at Logan for help but he also looked hurt, Wade flopped down on the couch like a deflated balloon Huffing you walked in “fine. I’ll stay.” 

Wade shot up hugging you “great! I knew you wouldn’t leave us for that incel loser!” You rolled your eyes “I feel bad for just bailing on him, he was pretty sweet” Logan rested his hands on your hips coming up behind you “trust me sweetheart I can treat you much better than him” Wade corrected “we can” You gulped feeling the heated tension rise.

You tilted your head “really?” Wade’s eyes were trained on your lips “really.” Logan’s hands traveled up and down your sides “then show me?” You hummed Wade smirked “challenge excepted.” He hummed.

Jackie called your number again but still it went straight to voicemail “fucking bitch…pick up the phone.” Just as he requested you answered only it was you it was a males voice “sorry Y/n can’t come to the phone right now she’s a little occupied at the moment but leave a message!” Jackie opened his mouth to speak when he heard moans in the background of the call.

“Ha…Harder Logan! Please, pl…please! Fill me up” Right before he hung up he heard the other voice speak “hey save some for me! Sorry Jackie’s but she’s taken already- Beep!” The phone shut off leaving Jackie stunned.

He threw his phone “fucking two timing whore!” 

Logan glanced over “was that him?” Wade laughed “yep” Logan petted your hair “could have let her answer” he joked, Wade shook his head “hey you know it’s rude to talk with your mouth full!”
