What do you think the announcement they are teasing is likely to be?
My guess is...
...merch lol.
I'm KIDDING (semi kidding; merch is definitely one of them lol). I know of one thing they hinted at ages ago on xplrclub that I assume is one of these "announcements" but other than that, your guesses are as good as mine. Could be anything from the Zak Bagans video they forgot they already told everyone about, all the way to a Sam and Colby amusement park a la Dollywood. My top guesses: it will be a few surprise videos with special guests, maybe the fucking board game or video game we here at tumblr have been telling them to make since 2020, and/or some kind of brand deal with Univeral HHN or Hot Topic again like last year.
Any guesses out there? Speculate away!

Universal Horrors (Crossover AU of umbrark's FNAF Human AU)
(((OOC: This will also include other properties from other companies like with 20th Century Fox for example (due to them being featured in Universal Studios' HHN events), HHN stuff, and other horror films by Universal Pictures
The AU itself is basically a crossover between Universal Studios' horror films and umbrark's FNAF Human AU. I'm thinking events would probably change due to the presence of the characters from them. Here are some character ideas I have so far
Norman Bates (Psycho): A troubled man who moved his motel business to Hurricane, Utah and is employed as a cook at Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria. Of course however, things aren't what they seem to be as Norman sometimes gets paranoid and would start arguing with "Mother". Things get worse however as someone wearing a mother's dress and grey hair is sometimes spotted inside and outside the Pizzeria... (1980s)
"Abraham Hemingway" (actually Dracula): A seemingly-human man who owns a company, Hemingway Corp., and works with William Afton from time-to-time. In actuality however, he is none other than the infamous vampire Dracula, who had survived death before and moves to America in order to hide from those that hunt down the vampire, especially if those are descendants of Abraham van Helsing. The only one who knows his secret is William Afton, who the vampire promises immortality to him. (1970s-2020s)
Peter Talbot (Descendant of Lawrence Talbot and Larry Talbot, both of them sharing the same fate on becoming a werewolf): A security guard that got hired for Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria for day-shifts. He is best described as a nervous yet friendly guard who does his best at his job and looks harmless, but at Full Moon, he transforms into a terrifying werewolf and kills anyone on sight. (1980s)
David Kessler (An American Werewolf in London): A backpacker who is hiding out in America due to being responsible for the killings in London and the Piccadilly Circus Massacre. He does his best to keep his werewolf form under control whenever a Full Moon is shown. He forms a friendship with Peter Talbot due to their similar circumstances. (1980s)
Johnny Bartlett a.k.a The Grim Reaper (The Frighteners): A demented mass murderer with a grisly count of 40. Has been into Hell not only once, but twice. Got out of hell for the third time and has set his sights on Springtrap and The Phantoms. Is facing competition with Chucky (once known as the Lakeshore Strangler in his human life before transferring his spirit to a Good Guy doll) (2010s)
FNAF Human AU belongs to @umbrarkzoo
Universal Horrors AU belongs to me.)))

[theme park review] halloween horror nights 30 (2021)
this yearā€™s halloween horror nights will be my third! itā€™s turned into a pretty awesome tradition for me and one of my partners. we went to halloween horror nights 29 in 2019 on our first date. 2020ā€™s was, of course, canceled due to the early stages of the covid-19 pandemic when the powers that be were pretending to actually try to prevent its spread. but when halloween horror nights returned to universal the following year, so did we!
our second year we were joined by her husband and my fiancx. my fiancx wasnā€™t feeling up for many of the haunted houses, and is a bit of a rollercoaster fiend (whereas iā€™m a huge rollercoaster wuss), so ve rode hollywood rip ride rockit whilst we were having our spooky times. ve ended up joining us for one of the haunted houses later, and for our apparently obligatory non-horror nights activity that year, men in black: alien attack.
really the biggest thing alien attack is missing is a truly pandering gift shop? like, you do absolutely exit through the gift shop, donā€™t get me wrong. but i wasnā€™t the slightest bit tempted to buy anything on offer there, and theme park gift shops are definitely a weakness of mine.
i fucking love the queue. itā€™s probably my favorite part of the ride? you just walk through mib headquarters, and it fucking rules. the ride itself is based on the shooting gallery j faces in his extended job interview in the movie. this makes perfect sense because thatā€™s probably the most theme parky thing in the movie other than the ltd post-little red button depending on what kind of ride they wanted to go for, and i love dark rides so iā€™m glad this is what they went with. plus the story of the ride is that youā€™re an mib trainee and i love dorky shit like that.
shortly after the beginning of the ride an alien prison ship crashes in new york! and you get sent immediately into battle with your weapons switched from training mode to full-power mode! the animatronics in this portion of the ride are just fantastic. i had a blast (pun fully intended, though i think i had the lowest score in our ride vehicle). anyway, moving on to our regularly-scheduled spookiness.
since halloween horror nights was celebrating the big 3-0, they largely used the scarezones to pay tribute to past yearsā€™ horror nights. i didnā€™t have context for any of these, obviously, but i thought the overall concept was pretty rad!
there were only two scarezones that i really spent any time in that year or that left a lasting impression. one was seek and destroy, which was located right outside of the tribute store and was this really cool dystopian robot alien invasion thing where there are just these robotic voices demanding that you submit and like yeah wow i wonder if i liked that or not. the other one i remember pretty clearly was gorewood forest, where tree people capture and sacrifice humans. the costumes and sets here were just totally lit, and the queen of the tree people was just super dommy so yeah obviously i was so totally into that?
the haunting of hill house was a pretty easy skip because none of us have seen the netflix show it was based on and it was going to have long lines all night. also an easy skip was hhn icons: captured because it was based on the like literally 30 years worth of halloween horror night lore and again this was our second halloween horror nights so obviously i probably wasnā€™t gonna get much out of that. i think we also skipped revenge of the tooth fairy because it just didnā€™t sound that interesting to me. i think we also missed case files unearthed: legendary truth, which in retrospect iā€™m actually a bit sad about! but iā€™ve also gotten way more into detective/mystery type stuff in the year since, so it makes sense that i wasnā€™t nearly as interested in that one at the time.
puppet theatre: captive audience was one of the original concept haunted houses i was super looking forward to, but honestly it was kinda because i was expecting a whole lot more bondage imagery considering the title and the concept being people being turned into puppets? i mean, donā€™t get me wrong, it was still a pretty great haunted houseā€“all the original concept ones usually areā€“iā€™m just whining.
we also checked out welcome to scarey: horror in the heartland, which felt kinda obligatory given that both me and my partner grew up in the midwest. in this one a small town in ohio is just absolutely overrun with all kinds of monsters. thereā€™s a bunch of really cool settings like a house, a school, a local news station, and a butcherā€™s shop. they did a fantastic job of combining quaint small town settings with a bunch of different kinds of horror.
but pretty easily my favorite of the original concept haunted houses that second year was the wicked growth: realm of the pumpkin. i just really, really like pumpkins and i wish pumpkin monsters were more of a common thing around halloween because that would just kinda make sense right? and anyway as soon as i saw the entrance that was just fucking covered in pumpkins including like a literal arch of pumpkins, i knew i was probably gonna like this one. it did a really great job taking more traditionally ā€œspookyā€ halloween imagery and making it genuinely scary. just fantastic stuff.
the licensed houses seriously kicked ass that year, though. i mean, okay, texas chain saw massacre is for sure not one of my favorite horror movies and i mostly did it because i was hoping thereā€™d be a ton of bondage imagery since there is in the movies (look i have a bit of a one-track mind, iā€™m not sorry), but even though it didnā€™t really have any of that i could still at least appreciate what a good job they did recreating the creepy atmosphere of the movies even if it wasnā€™t super my cup of tea.
the other two, thoughā€¦ i wasnā€™t actually super excited for the beetlejuice house? like, i love the movie, itā€™s definitely one of my favorite tim burton movies, but i just didnā€™t know how well it would translate into a haunted house? but justā€¦ wow, guys, they knocked this one out of the park. like, i wouldnā€™t say it was scary, exactly, but i was just so damn impressed by how well they brought the movie to life that it kind of didnā€™t matter? it ended up leaving such an impression on me that i literally ended up suggesting we watch the movie when we got back in for the evening, and we ended up doing just that.
but by far my favorite haunted house from either of the two haunted horror nights iā€™ve been to so far was universal monsters: the bride of frankenstein lives. i liked it so much i bought a dorky souvenir t-shirt of it to show my loyalty. it was by far the least scary of any of the haunted houses we went to either year, but that just simply didnā€™t matter.
first of all, this haunted house was actually a direct sequel to the movie bride of frankenstein??? and justā€¦ i kind of super want someone to make that movie now???
the story is that after the destruction of the castle the anguished bride realized she actually loved frankensteinā€™s monster after all. i rather prefer my headcanon that she went off and found countess zaleska from draculaā€™s daughter and they lived gayly ever after, but in this version we see her recreating dr. frankensteinā€™s work while wearing his goggles and lab coat and uh yeah, thatā€™ll also work! and she ends up having to capture the brides of dracula as part of her plan to save her monster, and itā€™s strongly implied that sheā€™s giving them human victims so she can harvest their blood after they feed (at one point someone trapped inside a box yells for help), and just this is metal as fuck, yā€™all.
and it ends in triumph for the bride and her monster, as she dramatically throws the switch while fighting off draculaā€™s brides. and itā€™s just. so. fucking. good.
seriously, make this into a movie right now. and have it be exactly as throwback and amazing as this haunted house was. i was totally blown away. and yeah it was 0% scary, but it was still easily the best haunted house iā€™ve seen so far. i genuinely hope something tops it in the future, but right now itā€™s kind of hard to imagine!

I forgot to answer the actual question. Sorry, LOL. I have NOT been to Halloween Horror Nights, unfortunately. I only went to Universal for the first time in 2020, where I did go into ONE of the HHN houses during the day. It was Revenge of the Tooth Fairy, and having my first HHN house during the beginning of the pandemic definitely made for some really awkward timing and really awkward houses. This has not tainted my enjoyment for the event - I just haven't gotten to go, financially it hasn't been in the cards. Hurricane season has a history of personally screwing up my plans in October, and on top of other personal things this year, it just wasn't an option. I loved all the themes this year, though, and its such a huge shame that I didn't get to appreciate them. I promise if I ever go, I will have posts galore here. šŸ«¶ I meant to have significantly more posts of Howl-O-Scream, but my group quite enjoyed those BGT cocktails, bloodbags, and jell-o syringes. I can't imagine I'd face the same issue at HHN when Universal charges 12$ for a lemonade šŸ˜“
your blog honestly just makes me so happy itā€™s unreal. Like. I never see blogs talking about the technicalities of rides. Such as Like the height or manufacturer or ride types. So like. It just makes me so happy dude.
also quick question. Have you been to universal Halloween horror nights (Florida). And is it worth it. Cause Iā€™m looking at going. But money isnā€™t on my side šŸ«”
hope your well.šŸ˜Š
Levi, you are always such a sweetheart šŸ˜šŸ˜ I see a lot of the coaster community on Instagram and Twitter/X, but I honestly struggle a lot with understanding those sites algorithms and find their profile layouts incredibly "messy" for lack of better term. I quite like Tumblr's tagging and blog search features, making it easy for me to refer back for fact-checking during conversation because while most of my posts are written from memory, I will always fact-check before I add it to my queue. I noticed there was a lack of blogs that focused on statistics & details and a lack of blogs that talked about their reviews and personal opinions.
I use this blog not only to label and date my photography for future (possibly professional, one day) reference, but because I truly do get so excited and repeat information back like it's brand new. I don't know how many times I have turned to my partner and said something along the lines of, "Did you know that Pipeline at SWO is a prototype? It's functionally different from prior generations of standing coasters and is not technically labeled as one via its patent." Or, while walking around parks with family or friends, pointing at a roller coaster and labeling its manufacturer and type, usually going into specifics like records it may have broken at time of opening, etc. My autism manifests in an almost painfully stereotypical way with my interest in roller coasters. I'm happy other people get enjoyment out of my blog. I genuinely love sharing this interest with others. Roller coasters are artistic engineering on a giant scale, and theme parks reflect society and cultural differences and similarities, and they bring people so much joy. I love seeing the joy and the rush of people when they are having a genuinely good time.
Sorry for the long ramble. I love sharing coasters with people and I am glad people on Tumblr enjoy me because after being slow and struggling with activity and response on Instagram, and having NEVER really used X/Twt, I was really scared I was going to feel on the "outside" of a community once again and it was making me really sad until I made the blog.

Screamtober Prompt #18: Carnival
Our carnival travels around the country all year long. In October we get even more popular than usual, given that we were a creepy carnival. We market ourselves as a way for someone to experience Halloween at any time of the year, and our fans love it.
We had several different murder scenes with sets and traps of torture that many people wouldnā€™t even think of using. No one even questioned why ourĀ ā€œcastā€ seemed to change a lot, they think itā€™s all part of the fun.Ā
We would drench the audience with blood and guts, use fire machines, have our dancers get in their faces. They loved every second of it. Even the younger fans wanted more of the horror. The police sometimes show up, but once we show them itā€™s all one big production, they stop bothering us. I mean I canā€™t say Iā€™m shocked, our kills are very gruesome.Ā
Weā€™re finally in Orlando again for the anniversary of our favorite event to show up at, where our most loyal fans flock to even get the slightest glimpse of us. I smiled at myself in the mirror as I painted my face with my signature make-up look, then caught glimpse of my lover approaching as he adjusted his ringmaster coat.Ā
ā€œReady to show these maniacs what real horror is doll?ā€ he whispered in my ear, sending chills down my neck.Ā
ā€œHell yeah Jack.ā€ I smirked
