For the music ask, 6, 8, and 10?
I just answered a song that reminds me of a family member, in another post.
8. A song from a soundtrack
This is a cute "performance artist" scene from Slaves of New York, featuring Johann Carlo (Dixie from Pee Wee's Playhouse) taking a bath with fruits and veg, and lip syncing her song, "Say Hi to Your Guy."
youtube
It seems it's impossible to find a clean copy of the song anywhere, but I like it!
10. A song that makes you feel relaxed
I don't know that "relaxed" is a feeling I ever look for music to cause in me! That said, my girlfriend and I used to fall asleep to the Cocteau Twins' Treasure album (cassette, really) a lot around 1990. "Ivo" is my favourite.
Cocteau Twins is the only band that doesn't sing in English that I truly enjoy. Liz Fraser sings in her own made-up language, which--in my experience--either makes it magical or annoying, depending on who you are. That said, I saw them live once and it was the most deadly boring show I've ever been to (Mazzy Star opened, and they were just as boring). Between every song there was this awkward pause after the applause died down and the "band" waited for the tape to start. Brutal.
I ran into Terri Barous and Eric Brosius from my favourite band, Tribe, at that gig, and about six months later Terri wrote their song "Miracle of Sound" about it. "If their cradle broke, no joke."

Bruce Wayne is evasive on a good day and downright invisible on a bad one.
So when you see him down the hallway from his office, attempting to escape without being caught, you nearly trip on your feet trying to catch him.
"Mr. Wayne!"
His shoulders rise with tension. You pity the guy, you really do. Being a gazillionaire is tough.
"Mr. Wayne! Mr. Wayne, Sharon has been hounding me about the charity dinner. Please, if you could just go to this one dinner... you haven't been to an event all month."
And you're getting the brunt of it from all of WE's clients.
Bruce turns, his smile looking more like a grimace. "Hn. Hello. A dinner? I was sure I had a shareholder meeting that day—"
"All month? B, what happened to the two event minimum? That's your rule."
The new voice comes from behind you. Dick Grayson walks down the hallway, wearing jeans that probably cost as much as your monthly rent.
"Mr. Grayson," you say, nodding primly. "How are you?"
You shift the files in your hands as they start to slip. Dick is quick to catch them, balancing the stack.
"We've been through this," he says with a smile. "You know you can call me Dick."
Yes, you've been through this. Every time Dick shows up to Wayne Enterprises, he tells you to call him by his first name. And every time after that, you call him Mr. Grayson.
"Right..." you say, taking back the files. You turn to Bruce. "Mr. Wayne, if you would just consider the dinner..."
Dick gives Bruce a severe look. "B, this is ridiculous. You're such a stickler for rules and yet—"
"Oh, look at the time." Bruce scoots past you and Dick. "I've got that meeting with Lucius. Where does the day go? Please tell Sharon I'll get back to her."
You can't understand how a guy whose biggest exertion is made by playing tennis at the country club can slip through your fingers so fast. He's around the corner before you can blink. You sigh.
"Don't worry," Dick says. "I'll get him to go. And I'll get one of my siblings to tag along to make sure he doesn't duck out early."
You smile briefly. "I'd appreciate that, Mr. Grayson."
"Dick. So!" He trails behind you as you make your way back to your office. "Do you have any plans for tonight?"
"Working."
"O-kay..." Dick jogs ahead to hold the door open for you. You push through, trying not to frown. "What about tomorrow night?"
You toss your scarf on the hook. It ends up on the floor. You ignore it.
"Still working."
"How 'bout I ask B to give you the day off then?"
Now it's your turn to give a severe look. "If you're implying that I'd be obligated to go out with you in return for a day off, you've completely misjudged my character, Mr. Grayson."
"Whoa, okay." He holds up his hands. "You're right, that didn't come out right. How about I get him to give you a day off, no strings attached?"
You dump your files and sit at your desk. "That's at your discretion."
"Hey." Dick leans on your desk, puppy eyes at full power. "Maybe we've gotten off on the wrong foot. Did I do something that put you off? I'd like you to tell me if I have. I hope the fact that I'm Bruce's son isn't stopping you from being honest."
You put down your pen and look at him. "Look. You seem like a nice guy, and you're handsome with a rich dad to boot. But I'm just not available, okay? You're looking for someone to go to Tahiti with. I respect that. But I'm not that person. I'm just not interested in that."
"You think I'm handsome?"
You sigh and open your laptop.
"Right! Sorry. Not the point." Dick sinks into a crouch next to you. He pulls the oddest poses sometimes, like he's made of rubber bands. "Okay. You're not looking for a trip to Tahiti. Got it. I don't take many vacations anyway. So how about having a friend?"
"And why would you want to be my friend? I'm just some assistant."
"Well, I..." Dick scratches his neck. "I like you. Is that so hard to believe?"
Very. But okay. You can throw him a bone.
"I guess not," you say.
Dick frowns. "You don't believe me."
How does he do that?
"Can I please get back to work?" you ask, only a little worried about being rude. "I'm sorry, I'm just very busy."
His face falls briefly before he stands and nods.
"Of course. No problem. I'll see you around? And I'll get B to go to that dinner."
"Thank you."
You don't notice his lingering looks, or the fact that he picks up your scarf and places it on the hook on his way out.

3...17...64.
The safe clicks. You smirk. Easy peasy. The hotshots always use their own birthdays for combinations. Predictable. You bet Bruce Wayne does the same.
It's a blessing that you were able to duck out early today. Bruce gave you the rest of the afternoon off. You suspect that was due to some outside meddling.
You take out the files from D.A. Colson's safe. You always say that if crooked district attorneys don't want their documents stolen, they shouldn't put them where anybody can find them.
...Maybe you were too harsh with Dick. He's sweet, no doubt. It was nice of him to get you off early. But you kind of feel like he'd take issue with the fact that you spend your weeknights breaking and entering.
"You know, cracking safes is already Catwoman's shtick," a voice says behind you. "You might wanna find a new gimmick."
A thrill shoots through you. You toss your head as you turn, leaning against the open safe.
"Catwoman steals diamonds." You hold up the documents. "I just steal files. And make a few edits."
"That's extremely illegal. Those files belong to the district attorney," Nightwing says, crossing his arms.
"The dirty district attorney," you correct.
"I'm supposed to let you off on a technicality?" He sounds amused.
Your shrug one shoulder, a little coy. "You could. I hear you're the nice one."
He laughs. Nightwing has a pretty smile. It's the first thing you'd noticed about him.
"Oh, yeah? Anything else you've heard?"
"Plenty. But I'm in a bit of a hurry tonight, Wing. As much as I enjoy our little chats..."
You dart to the window. Nightwing easily blocks your exit.
You're not quite sure what overtakes you when you run into Nightwing. Ignoring the fact that he manages to be the one to chase you almost every time (and what a chase it is), there's a tension between you. Or maybe it's just one-sided on your part. It certainly doesn't help that he's got a nice smile and bouncy hair.
"You know I can't let you go," he says, hands on his hips. "Put it down."
And he's extremely good at what he does.
"Make me," you say.
He never uses his escrima sticks, which you know is a courtesy to you. But that doesn't mean you can't hold your own.
"Alright," Nightwing says, smirking slightly.
He takes three steps, blocks your immediate kick, and takes the documents.
Something swoops in your belly. You kind of get why Catwoman exclusively fights Batman. Once you go bat, you never go back.
"Got them," he says cheerily. "Now what?"
You throw a glass bird tchotchke at him from Colson's desk. He catches it with his free hand, but it's enough of a distraction for you to slide into his legs. Nightwing stumbles less than you would like, but you push him down against the desk.
He grunts as he hits the wood, then rolls you over in the next breath, hands catching your wrists.
"Stealing... makes you no better... than Colson," he says, hair falling over his mask. All of him is pretty, really. It's too bad he's so firmly on the blind side of justice. You're trying to help the little people. Batman and his merry band of do-gooders have always been too focused on the big picture.
"If these documents are buried, Colson will win his case and hide his own crimes in the process. Is that what you want? Another crook in court?" you ask.
Nightwing frowns. "You know that's not fair. We can't falsify evidence for the sake of putting Colson behind bars. IF we pick and choose whose lives to play with, what gives us the right to carry out justice?"
"I dunno, Wing," you say, a little breathless. Nightwing's hips are politely shifted off of yours, chest to yours. "Seeing you go rogue would be kind of exciting."
You can tell he's glaring at you. "Not in your dreams."
"Been in my dreams, have you?"
You gain enough leverage to push Nightwing off of you. He's back on you immediately, trapping you against the wall.
"How is doing something like this not crooked?" he asks.
You scoff. "It's for charity. I'm donating residents to the county jail."
You twist in Nightwing's hold and land a kick. In the three seconds he's distracted, you grab the documents. No sooner do you do that does Nightwing tackle you. The documents slip out of your hand.
"I can do this all night," he says, knee wedged between your legs. "Might as well yield."
"Yield? You're not even playing at your full strength, hotshot."
He smiles. "No, I'm playing nice."
You roll your eyes. "Well, play fair."
And then you jump out of the window.
Your tuck and roll isn't the worst but it's not the best. Especially when Nightwing neatly lands a few feet away without a wince.
"Showoff," you say.
"Give me the documents," he says. "I want to put Colson away, too. But this isn't how to do it. He's still a civilian, and his clients' lives matter."
You get up and wobble on a loose brick on the edge. Stupid historical buildings.
You're desperate. If he keeps this up, you're bound to land yourself a night in the police station and lose the documents.
So you dust yourself off. And you stop. Right at the edge of the roof.
"Okay," you say.
Nightwing takes a careful step forward. "Okay?"
You toss the documents to him. He catches them in surprise.
"You're surrendering?" he asks.
You shrug. "Like you said: you can do this all night. And I guess there are better ways to catch Colson. More permanent ways."
He tilts his head. "You're not gonna kill him, are you?"
"No! Jesus, man. Ye of little faith."
"I'm just trying to understand why you surrendered."
You sigh. "Because you always win anyway. You're a better fighter than me. And I'm cornered. I just feel like cutting my losses early. You're a lot more convincing than Batman."
"Is that so?"
"Oh, yeah. I much prefer you chasing me."
"Uh-huh." He nods towards the building. "Come on, then."
"Okay, sure."
You take a step. And you fall.
The brick is loose under your foot. It doesn't take much for you to keep going.
Panic surges through you, but that only solidifies your acting.
"Wing!" you cry, toppling over the edge.
"Shit!"
Nightwing lunges and grabs you by your waist, then uses momentum to haul you both to safety. His cheek against yours for a moment, body pressed to yours. It really is a damn shame he's such a Boy Scout.
You knock him in the stomach and snatch the documents, then separate from his grip. You watch his face contort in realization as you land and bolt.
"That wasn't playing nice or fair!" he yells, landing on the opposite side.
You're already gone, laughter echoing.

Guitarist! Choso Kamo is your boyfriend, and you’ve been together for a year. His previous band broke up and he’s been looking to join a new one ever since, so when he has an audition with a local up and coming one, you accompany him to give him support. That’s where you meet the band’s Bassist, Suguru Geto. The mutual attraction is immediate—but you love your boyfriend, and you resolve to keep your desires for Suguru suppressed, even as Choso is accepted into the band. The question is, can Suguru stay away from you?

A/N: okay, hear me out. these two are an alt boy duo that i would not mind being tag-teamed by so…here tf we go. This was gonna be a one shot but I live for drama so there’ll be multiple parts.
Read below the cut:
Choso’s leg won’t stop bouncing up and down in the passenger seat as you drive towards the location of his audition.
He’s been looking for his place in a new band ever since his previous one broke up a few months ago, and he’d seen that the city’s most popular up-and-coming band Curse Manipulation posted an ad in need of a guitarist on their Instagram. The two of you like some of their music though you aren’t overly familiar with the band, so he figured it would be a no-brainer to audition.
You know he’s going to be accepted. Choso is an amazing guitarist, and he writes beautiful lyrics, too. Not to mention the haunting voice he can sing with.
You have complete faith in your boyfriend, and he is very aware of your support, and yet he’s still an endearing ball of nerves beside you.
“Hey,” you say softly, placing a hand on his thigh as you reach a red stoplight, easing onto the brake. You give him a reassuring smile. “You’re gonna do great, babe. I know it.”
He smiles half-convincingly at you, which in him is really just a twitch of the corner of his lips, and you can’t help but reach up and lovingly cup his chin between your thumb and index.
“I’ll be right there with you. So you don’t need to worry.”
He sighs, taking your hand in his and giving it a squeeze as the light turns green, allowing you to continue on your drive.
“Thanks,” his voice is quiet. “I just…really do like their sound. The more I think of it, the more I can see myself playing with them. I just hope they agree.”
“They will,” you say surely. “After it’s over, wanna get some McDonald’s? I think there’s a McFlurry with your name on it.”
He chuckles softly and nods. “Sure. That sounds good.”
You flash a grin as you turn onto the next street, entering a residential area with houses nicer than you were expecting. They aren’t mansions, but as you drive through, they’re definitely nicer than yours and Choso’s humble apartment.
“Huh. Didn’t know they made this much money already,” You think aloud, and he shifts beside you, also looking out of the window.
“I read about them a little,” Choso tells you, “Their bassist is a songwriter that’s pretty well-known in alternative music, apparently.”
“Yeah?” You ask, impressed. “So this guy’s a big shot?”
“Kinda,” Choso laughs breathily. “Honestly, I think that’s why I’m nervous.”
“You’re nervous that he’s a professional? A little intimidated?” You ask, and he shrugs.
“Could be,” he admits. “I mean, I know that I’m a good player, so that’s not it entirely. It’s just that if I do get put in the band, things’ll change. They’re gaining popularity, and with the experience he has, the band’s definitely going to get somewhere.”
You hum. “That sounds great. You’ve always wanted to do this as a career—and your stuff deserves to be heard, baby. Maybe you’re more excited than nervous.”
“Could be,” he shrugs, “It’s just a lot.”
“That’s understandable,” you reply, “It’s okay to be nervous. Auditions are scary as hell. But I’m telling you, it’s gonna be fine. We’re gonna get in there, you’re gonna play and blow them away, then we’ll get ourselves some delicious fast food and relax at home.”
He smiles softly at you, and you return it before looking back out of the windshield, seeing your destination approaching. You slow to a stop on the curb at the side of the house, shifting the car into park.
“All right,” You say. “We’re here. Ready?”
He takes a breath and nods. “Yeah. Let’s go.”
—-
A tall, pale man in a white muscle tank-top and baggy sweats greets the two of you at the door with a smile.
“Hi, you must be Choso,” He shakes hands with your boyfriend, “Suguru said you’d be coming. I’m Larue, the band’s drummer.”
“Hey,” greets Choso with his trademark small-smile, “I am. It’s nice to meet you.”
“Who’s this beauty you brought with you?” Larue asks, directing his attention to you.
You shake hands with Larue as you introduce yourself as Choso's significant other.
“Hi,” you greet, giving him your name. “I hope it’s okay I’m here.”
“Oh, of course,” Larue insists. “Come on in. The studio’s down the hall. Just leave your shoes by the door.”
He lets you two into the house, allowing you a chance to look around while you remove your shoes. It looks rather modern and minimal as a structure but the furniture has an eclectic, almost gothic feel to it, green plants livening up the space. It smells pleasant as well—like fresh juniper.
“This way,” Larue gestures to follow him, so you and your boyfriend do, your hand slipping into Choso’s to offer him comfort. He gives your hand a little pulse and you do one in reply as Larue leads you down the hallway, stopping at the door at the end. “Here we are.”
He pushes it open and enters, calling out to the occupants in the room. “Choso’s here for his audition!”
Choso enters first and you follow, entering the cozy studio, lit warmly with lamps, the floor covered in patchwork rugs, a sofa on one end across from a mixing board, and behind that, glass panes that lead to the sound booth, a room that houses the band’s instruments and equipment. Honestly, you’re impressed—you had no clue this band was so serious about their music. It makes your chest swirl with pride. This is the perfect chance for Choso’s talent to finally be recognized.
“Hey there, it’s nice to meet you in person,” a voice pulls you out of your appraisal and back towards the mixing board, where a man sits in a chair, smiling at your boyfriend. As soon as you look at him, his eyes meet yours, and you swear a little shock of electricity runs through you at that exact moment. His eyes flash with something indistinguishable. “I’m Suguru Geto. Bassist and frontman.”
Oh. He’s the singer, too? The bassist? That’s a little unusual, but it’s cool. He’s cool. He has gauges that are framed by long, dark hair, placid and gentle dark eyes, a pretty nose, smooth-looking lips with strong cheekbones and a sharp jawline to match. You can’t ignore the piercings he has on his face, one over his left eyebrow, thin silver hoops adorning his bottom lip in snake bites. Tattoos peak up from his collarbone under his black crew neck, and you trace your gaze down to his hands, fingers free of tattoos but the back of his hands themselves inked up, chunky silver rings making up for the empty room on his dexterous digits instead.
Your mouth goes dry. He’s gorgeous.
His eyes don’t leave you as he says, “who is this angel you brought with you?”
Choso’s hand on yours tightens, bringing you back to yourself. You manage a smile, trying to ignore your racing heart. You stutter as you answer him, cementing yourself as Choso's.
When you tell Suguru your name, and he repeats it, a smile stretches across his lips. “It’s very nice to meet you. Please, make yourself comfortable. Ah, and this is Miguel, our keyboards.”
He gestures to the man leaning against the wall in sunglasses, gold hoops handing from his ears. He smiles and waves. “Hey.”
“Hi,” replies Choso, “Nice to meet you.”
“Likewise.”
“Choso, you wanna set up with the amp over there?” Suguru points to the wall near the couch, and your boyfriend nods.
“Yeah, sure.”
You smile at him again, rubbing his arm gently before moving over to the sofa to sit beside Larue on the opposite end. Miguel takes a seat in the chair beside him as Choso sets about getting his guitar from its case, your eyes gravitating back towards the black hole in the room sitting at the mixing board.
You find his calculating eyes already on you, and instead of looking away at being caught, the corner of his mouth turns up. It makes you feel warm all over.
“So,” Larue speaks, cutting through the silence. “How long have you been playing, Choso?”
“I taught myself when I was thirteen,” He answers, taking the chord plugged into the amp and pushing the other end into his guitar. “I joined my band when I was fifteen, but it split because the others wanted to do their own things.”
“Ah,” Miguel chimes in, “That sucks. Everybody’s gotta be on the same page.”
“Yeah, but I really liked being in a band, so hopefully this goes well,” Choso smiles softly, standing up to sling the guitar strap over his shoulder. He checks to make sure the volume on the amp is down before switching it on, experimentally strumming at a few strings until the volume is at a good level.
“All set?” Asks Suguru, and Choso nods.
“Yeah. I really like ‘Love to the Strong’ so I’ll do that one.”
That was one of your favorites of Curse Manipulator. You and Choso listen to it a lot, and you’ve heard him play it before. He was able to figure it out just by listening, once again putting you in awe of him. You know he has this in the bag.
His black-painted nails form the first chord and he starts strumming, effortlessly switching to the next one and the next, starting to sing along like it’s second nature. You watch him with shimmering eyes. Whenever he plays, you can’t help but see him for the star he truly is. Everything about him is just so unique, so special. What had drawn you to him was his appearance, how unapologetically he expresses himself in what he wears, the spiky style he wears his hair up in, the tattoo across the bridge of his nose, the heavy eyeliner around his eyes…you even think about the tattoo of your name he’d gotten over his heart for your birthday in beautiful black lettering, one of many presents to you that day, and your heart flutters.
Wanting to read the room to see how the others are reacting, you look at Miguel first. He’s nodding his head along, brow furrowed with a smile on his lips. Good. He’s enjoying it. You look at Larue next, who is tapping along to the beat with his hand on his thigh quietly, dividing it even further with his foot.
Last, your eyes move to Suguru, who is moving in time with Choso’s playing, nodding with his chin in his hand. He seems to feel your eyes on his, because he meets your gaze in the next moment. That smirk finds its way on his face again, playful, and you feel your heart hammer hard against your rib cage involuntarily. Without looking away from you, he lets his index finger rest between his lips, tongue pushing against it just so you see the black ball of jewelry at the center of it.
Fuck. A tongue piercing.
A deluge of very lewd, very intrusive thoughts slam into you without your permission. What would his snake bites and tongue piercing feel like if you kissed him? Or if he tried sucking a hickey into your neck? How would his mouth feel around one of your nipples? Or, shit, how would it feel eating you out? Does he know how to use that little bead to his advantage? Would he use it to make you fall apart?
The song finishes and Larue’s enthusiastic cheers yank you from your wanton musings, dragging your eyes from Suguru’s poetic face back to your boyfriend.
Choso smiles at you, eyes searching for approval, for assurance that he did well, and you nod without thinking, a smile spreading over your face as you push the thoughts of Suguru down. You can compartmentalize them later—right now, you need to be a supportive partner. Relief washes over his face.
“That was great,” Suguru says, all business again, “I didn’t know you could sing. Would you be interested in doing toplines and backing vocals also?"
Choso nods. “Yeah, that sounds great. I uh, I write too. If you ever wanted to collaborate.”
“He’s really good,” you add, hoping the blush you feel when Suguru’s gaze finds yours again isn’t noticeable. He smiles at you and it makes you so warm, so nervous.
“That’s great,” He says, glancing back at your boyfriend. “Choso, I know it was a short audition, but I think we can all agree that you’re exactly what we’re looking for.”
You see Choso’s face light up, nuanced to most but so obvious to you, and you grin brightly. You knew it.
“Really?”
“Yep,” Miguel voices his agreement. “Welcome to the band.”
“Welcome!” is Larue’s input.
Suguru flits his eyes to you again. “Just what I’ve been looking for.”
Choso doesn’t see where he’s looking though, because he’s smiling at you, but you do see it, and you feel all sorts of emotions.
Suguru wants you. He’s made it obvious enough already, and that fact plays with your sanity levels a disturbing amount. You have Choso. You love Choso. You see yourself staying with him forever, because he makes you happy, and he makes you feel safe and taken care of. You trust him with your life and he’s never done anything to even waver that trust. You have never looked at another man like this the entire time you’ve been with Choso, either.
So why now all of a sudden is a simple glance from Suguru threatening to put you on your knees? What is going on with you?
“Thank you guys,” Choso speaks, oblivious to the turmoil inside of your head, “I’ll do my best.”
Suguru stands up and pats his shoulder. Oh fuck. He’s tall, shoulders wide—he’s intimidating. He looks like he could toss you around like a pillow. Choso’s build is nothing to sneeze at, but Suguru is just…huge. You silently beg for any god listening to take pity on you and force you to calm down.
“Come on, let’s all relax in the living room with some tea and get to know everyone better,” Suguru suggests, looking at you, “How does that sound?”
You have half a mind to run out of the house right now to prevent yourself from doing something stupid like jumping Suguru’s bones on the spot. Instead, you force a smile on your face.
“Sounds good.”
It’s an hour of soft torture on Suguru’s couch. You’re sandwiched between Choso and the arm of the blue velvet sofa, Larue on his other side. Miguel sits in a matching chair off to the right, and in the other one, directly to your left sits Suguru.
It’s obscene the way his legs are spread out, open like he has a third one in the middle and he needs room for it, and that thought keeps repeating in your head, contributing to the worst hurricane that’s ever ravished the shores of your mind.
His arms are no better, elbows perched on either of the chair’s arms, pelvis forward as he slinks lazily. He’d made tea for everyone when you went into the living room and when he handed you your mug, his fingertips brushed yours and it made you feel like a shy teenager with a crush.
You try really hard not to stare at him but your eyes keep gravitating. He’s leading the conversation, and a fair amount of questions have to do with you. You have no choice but to look at him. And fuck, you don’t mind, he’s sentient art. It should be punishable by law how sinfully his pierced lips wrap around the mug to sip at the tea. At one point while you’re talking about what you do for a living, Choso’s watching you as you talk. Since his eyes aren’t on Suguru, it gives the man a free-pass to test your patience. A drop of tea accidentally slides down the side of his mouth and he flicks his tongue out to lick it, stud glinting at you, and you fucking feel yourself start to get wet.
You tear your eyes away from him after stuttering, finishing your sentence and lifting the cup to your lips to give yourself something else to focus on.
Whenever he looks at you, you can just feel it. You feel it like when you stand too close to fire, heat just threatening to burn your skin, and you suddenly have the overwhelming urge to get fucked.
Wow, you think, real nice. You’re disappointed in yourself. You just met this man and he has this much control over your body? He hasn’t even really touched you.
Choso didn’t even have this effect on you. It was a pair assignment in a class you two had together that started it. He was quiet and frankly looked bored most of the time. He never spoke unless he was spoken to, or to ask you something about your assignments. When you were told you had to work with each other for the final, you two grew closer over meetings at cafes while you worked. You remember the first time you made him laugh. It was music to your ears, and it made your heart flutter. That’s when you started having feelings for him.
Everything he did after that was endearing. You started noticing that he would ask you more questions than necessary just to talk with you, you noticed he’d find reasons to prolong your meetings when you worked together, and he’d even pay for the food or drinks you’d order while working. He liked you, and you liked him back, and he was just so pure in his intentions, you fell even harder.
The night before the final was due, you were over at his place to practice. You’d been there a few times, as he’d been at yours too, and after polishing the project, you decided you two needed a break. You saw his guitar sitting against the wall and asked him to play something. He was hesitant, but ultimately couldn’t deny you, so he sat across from you and started strumming and singing a song you’d never heard before.
It was beautiful. The lyrics would put Hozier to shame. You suspected it was an original, too. You were probably biased, but hell, at that moment you knew he was someone you couldn’t let go of.
When he finished, he confirmed that he’d written it himself. You told him whoever he wrote it about was really lucky, and that if it was you, you’d fall in love with him immediately.
That was you opening the door, and he walked through it with earnest eyes and a hopeful smile.
He’s been your boyfriend since, and he’s made you so happy.
Remembering how you met Choso helps a lot to mitigate the damage Suguru is doing to your psyche, and to keep yourself strong, you don’t look at Suguru again. You fix your eyes on the mug, and a little after the tea is finished, you and Choso decide to go home.
Suguru sees you out after Larue takes care of your mugs, Miguel bidding you a farewell before he makes his way back to the studio. You get your shoes back on, hearing Choso express his gratitude again and agree to return tomorrow so that they can start rehearsing for their next gig.
“It was really nice to meet you.”
Suguru’s eyes are suddenly on yours again and it’s as if that flame that had been reduced to a steady, barely noticeable simmer roars back to life on high. He really is so fucking, damningly pretty.
“You too,” you manage with what you hope is a convincingly easy smile. He holds his palm out to shake hands, and your heart jumps in your ribcage. You fear touching him might rouse a beast within you that you previously had no knowledge of.
Out of courtesy and the obligation to uphold social cues, you lay your hand in his. His palm is warm. His fingers feel rough and firm, no doubt hardened due to his years playing bass. His skin looks nice against yours, you think intelligently, and before he lets go, he gives your hand a strong squeeze. Had you been any less of a person you would have buckled with your newly weakened knees. He has a strong grip.
What on you would he grab like that? Your thigh? Your ass? Your hips? Fuck, your neck?
Your smile tapers at the sheer indecency of your thoughts as he lets go, and you absentmindedly smile at him to try and save face, turning to follow your boyfriend out of the house and down the driveway.
“Get home safely!” Suguru calls behind you, and you hear Choso reply in kind. You can’t muster a response. Your whole body is buzzing. It feels like there are two wolves literally fighting for dominance inside of you. One of them is urging you to go home, to calm the hell down and maybe take out all of your newfound frustration on Choso.
The other one, however, is clawing at your back, trying to drag you back towards Suguru so that you can jump him and fuck him right in the front room of his house.
Obscene. Filthy. You need to get out of here. Who are you?
You make it to the car, but after Choso puts his guitar in the backseat, you hesitate before the driver’s seat.
“Babe?” You ask, and he looks over at you.
“Yeah?”
“Can you drive?”
“Of course,” he answers easily, moving around to meet you at the driver’s side of the car. You hand him the keys, but refuse to move. He tilts his head to the side. “Are you all right?”
“Yeah, yeah,” you nod, unsure of who you’re trying to convince. You’re so torn right now. You feel so guilty for looking at another man the way you did tonight, but you’re also still so fucking horny and your angel of a boyfriend is standing right in front of you.
You decide to make a very lust-induced decision.
“Choso?”
“Yeah?” He puts his hand on your shoulder in concern. “What is it?”
He’s so fucking sweet. It warms your heart but you need something more, something crazy.
“I want you to fuck me.”
His eyes widen, and you can practically hear his heart stutter. He blinks, face reddening. “Well…when we get home, we can—”
“Right here, Choso.”
Another blink. He has no idea where this is coming from—you’ve never acted like this. Sex stays at home, in private.
“…right here? Right now?” He asks, looking around. It’s dark out now, the neighborhood lit up dimly by streetlights staggered up and down the sidewalks. “Outside?”
“In the car,” you say. That’s private enough, right? It should be. He swallows thickly.
“Are…are you sure? What if we get caught?”
You just want it so badly right now. You stretch the truth to get what you desire.
“I’m just so proud of you,” you say, heart feeling heavy. “You did so well today—you deserve it, baby.”
He smiles bashfully at the praise, scratching behind his neck. “I only did because you were here…I can wait until we get back. Don’t worry.”
It’s not working. God damn it.
You make a last-ditch effort.
“I know you can,” you say, getting in his space and touching his chest. Lowly, you add, “But I don’t think I can.”
His dark eyes widen again, an unsure smile twitching at his lips. “You want me that bad?”
It’s starting to work. “Yeah. Please, babe? Unless it makes you uncomfortable…”
“No,” he quickly shakes his head, “Let’s do it. Where do we…?”
You spring into action.
Your hand goes for the lever on the side of the driver’s seat, pulling it and reclining it all the way back.
“Sit, baby. I’ll ride you.”
He sucks in a breath and does as told, getting in the car and watching as you follow, shutting and locking the door behind yourself.
You straddle his legs and kiss him without a moment to waste, threading your hands in his hair. He reciprocates easily, sighing when he feels you pull the hair ties out to let his dark brown locks fall free. His hands find your waist as you start grinding on him to get him hard, relishing in the soft noises it starts to pull from him within minutes.
You think for a moment that this is crazy. You’re actually going to fuck Choso in a car. It is a little dangerous, but that excites you. You’re just so fucking turned on because of that infuriatingly gorgeous bassist…
Choso moans when you grind harder, his hand slipping up the leg of the denim shorts you’re wearing and past your underwear, finding you to be drenched.
“You really did want this,” he laughs breathily, and you feel another pang of guilt. He’s feeling the result of miniscule attention from Suguru. Sick. It’s sick.
You can’t do this to Choso. You need to focus on him. This is happening between the two of you and no one else.
“I did,” you choose to smile back. “Let me have it now, baby?”
He sucks in a slow breath and nods, pupils blown, reaching down to unzip his jeans. You help, popping the button and reaching down to free him from his boxers.
He’s hot and firm in your grasp and you can’t help but stroke him a few times, enjoying the groans it pulls from his throat.
Painfully aware of your own arousal, you decide not to tease him anymore and shift, lining him up with your entrance. Just like that, with all of your clothes still on, you slip him inside, moaning at the relief the pressure of his girth provides your needy walls.
His hands stay on your hips as you start bouncing on him, his brows furrowing, eyes fixed on your face.
“Fuck,” he breathes, breathing ragged and erratic. You hear the wet noises obscenely in the small space, covering his shaft with your essence, and you roll your hips, teasing his tip against the sensitive spot inside of you.
“Choso,” you hiss, aiming there. Recognizing you found it, he starts thrusting up to meet your movements, heightening your pleasure. You throw your head back, mouth falling open. “Oh god baby, yes…”
His eyes flutter shut and you start riding him faster, his jaw clenching as he bites down. A strained grunt escapes with his voice, neck veins protruding, and you move your hands before thinking, wrapping them around his neck.
He groans louder as you apply a tiny amount of pressure, voice switching and going higher. You’re thoroughly wrecking your boyfriend now and it’s making your mound practically weep over his cock, uncaring that the car is rocking with your movements.
Your eyes flit to the side out of the window, and what you see punches heat into your gut so hard you gasp.
Suguru is standing on the balcony of what must be his bedroom, looking right into the window of your car at you, and only you.
He’s holding something between his fingers that looks like a cigarette, smirking down at you as he leans his cheek against his palm. Keep going, his eyes say.
You don’t dare disobey him. The thought doesn’t even cross your mind. You ride Choso even harder, getting the head of his throbbing cock to hammer against the most sensitive part of your insides.
You chance a glance down at Choso, who is still lost in a world of his own, eyes squeezed shut, and you look back up at Suguru, who is taking a drag.
He blows out smoke and it makes you clench hard around Choso.
“Fuck,” moans your boyfriend, “M’close, so close…”
You are too. The cock inside of you is so good, the friction of your shorts on your pearl is starting to overwhelm you, and Suguru watching you with absolutely zero shame is twisting your instincts into knots.
He corrupts you with dirty thoughts just by looking at you.
If it were him, the moment you’d asked to fuck, he probably would have pushed you into the backseat. You’d have been on your hands and knees, or maybe laid out on your back as he railed you so disrespectfully you’d feel him trying to invade your ribs. He’d call you all sorts of names, degrade you for being a slut, for not being able to wait.
You moan louder, feeling so close you’re about to lose your mind. Choso mewls beneath you, voice becoming lost to the whimpers he gets only when he cums.
“Baby, baby,” his voice rings out, “Fuck, I’m cumming…”
You feel it spill inside of you and as soon as Suguru’s smirk deepens, his head tilting as if to say ‘go on’, you orgasm hard.
“Oh fuck!”
Choso grunts as you clamp down on his sensitive member, slowing his thrusts to a stop as you pant heavily. You see Suguru grin and straighten up, lingering his gaze for a moment longer before turning and leaving you alone with Choso once more.
Now without the object of your forbidden desires, you slump forward, laying over Choso’s chest. You kiss his sweaty neck lovingly, embracing him tightly as the post-coital clarity starts seeping back into your head.
“Thank you,” you breathe, “I love you, Choso.”
You do. You love him. Suguru is just a fantasy and he’s going to stay that way. You’re happy with Choso and that’s the end of the story. You’ll just have to avoid Suguru and everything will be fine.
“I love you too,” He replies softly, kissing the top of your head. “Always.”
You close your eyes, biting back a heavy sigh.
I’m so sorry, you want to say, but resolve to make it up to him by just being a better partner to him than you have been, though he’s never complained. You’re not going to let this new infatuation take root.
What you don’t know is that this is only the beginning.

Soft Part 1 of 2
I was meant to be working on Grief (A Friend Indeed) this weekend because I didn't want to leave you hanging at the end of six (which I have written), but my muse wouldn't leave me alone until I wrote this one. It's a little more than 3k, so I'm splitting it up. Which will give me more time to write part 7.
It's called soft because all the way through writing it, that's what the feel was. It was all fluff. And I really couldn't think of a better title.
*
Eddie walked into the apartment Steve shared with Robin and found Steve crying on the sofa.
"Stevie?" he asked, gently creeping up on the sofa as not to startle him.
"Hey, Eds," Steve greeted mournfully.
"What happened, babe?" Eddie asked, easing on the sofa next to him.
"Anna broke up with me..." he muttered.
Eddie blinked. "But wasn't she the one that brought up marriage, like just last week?"
Steve nodded. "Apparently it was a test or some such shit."
"What did you say?" he asked.
"I told her that marriage is great when you find the right person, but that it wasn't for everyone," Steve explained. "I said it was great feeling to stand up in front of your friends and family and declare your love for each other."
"Sounds great to me," Eddie said. "What was her damage?"
Steve sighed. "Apparently the answer to the question 'should people get married' is never ever in a million years and I'm a misogynist for even thinking about it."
"Ouch."
"Stupid me for thinking otherwise," Steve groused. "Hell I even went and put a down payment on a ring. A very nonrefundable down payment."
Eddie closed his eyes and opened them slowly. "Shit, sweetheart. She should reimburse you for that, leading you on like she did."
Steve shook his head, pulling out a small box. "I bought this instead." He handed it to Eddie.
Eddie opened the box and inside was a beautiful white gold chain with a large clasp.
"That's pretty, Stevie," he murmured. "Birdie will love it."
Steve shook his head again. "It's for you. It's for your guitar pick." He jutted his chin at Eddie's necklace.
"What?"
"Can I show you?" Steve asked gently, holding out his hand.
Eddie nodded and took the necklace off and placed it in his waiting palm.
Steve set it on his thigh as he unscrewed one end of the clasp. He slid the pick off the bubble chain Eddie kept it on and onto the silver chain. He screwed the clasp back on and then brought the two ends back together. They connected without any help from Steve.
"Whoa!" Eddie said, enthralled.
"It's magnetic," he explained. "That way when you do shows you can do the whole rip it off your neck without having to buy new chains all the time."
He handed it back to Eddie, who put it on. He tugged on it normally but it didn't come off. He tugged harder and it came off in his hand. The chain slipped around his palm and reconnected. He wrapped it around his wrist and the pick fell perfectly in his hand so he could strum.
He played a little air guitar and then put back around his neck.
Steve ran his fingers through his hair. "I heard that picks really don't last long, and that that one is really special, so I had these made too."
He pulled the cushion out of the jewelry box to reveal about a dozen picks with a hole drilled into the top so Eddie could string them on the necklace.
Eddie picked one up and saw that it had initials on it. "JL." He picked up another one. "DH." A third. "LS."
"Steve..." he whispered.
"They each have an initial for someone you love," Steve murmured. "Your uncle. Your band. The kids."
"Not you?" Eddie asked, tilting his head around so he could get a better look at Steve face.
Steve blushed a dark red. He tugged on the necklace and it came off in his hand. "My initials are here." He pointed to the two clasps. And sure enough there were engraved into the silver was a simple S and H.
Eddie's heart stuttered in his chest. "Thank you." His lip quivered a bit before he spoke again. "You didn't have to do this, you know."
Steve shook his head. "I had to get something with down payment. This wasn't that much. I promise. I liked getting it for you."
Eddie just nodded.
*
Eddie showed up for band practice, practically vibrating out of his skin.
Jeff leaned back. “Whoa, man. Who’s put caffeine into your veins?”
“Lookie what Stevie got me!” he said and yanked off the chain, it immediately demonstrated the effect for him.
“Holy shit!” Gareth said bounding up to him. “That’s so freaking cool.”
Eddie grinned. “He also got me these.” And he poured the picks into Gareth’s hand.
Gareth picked one up, after another reading off the initials. “JH, ES, DH... GH?”
He looked up at Eddie in awe. He held up the GH. “Is that me?”
Eddie nodded, pursing his lips. “There’s a JL and a BM in there too.”
“And the rest all the kids right?” Brian asked coming up behind Gareth.
“And Wayne and Robin,” Eddie confirmed.
Jeff wandered over, too. “No pick for Stevie?” he asked, pushing them around in Gareth’s hand.
Eddie quietly showed them the initials on the necklace itself.
“Holy fuck!” Brian said, wide-eyed. “That’s a declaration of love if I ever saw one, man.”
Jeff nodded. “Yeah, Ed. That’s some straight up romantic shit.”
“Come on, guys,” Eddie moaned. “It’s not like that. He put a down payment on a ring for a relationship that went bust and needed to spend it anyway.”
All three of his bandmates just stared at him in disbelief.
He squirmed a little under their gaze. “I bet Birdie got something even better than this.” He held up the necklace. “It’s only silver, it couldn’t have cost that much anyway.”
“Dude,” Brian said. “Your rings are silver. That is something else.”
Eddie frowned and compared the two pieces of jewelry side by side.
“Oh.”
He chewed on his lip. “I think I know what metal this is.”
Gareth rubbed his chin. “It looks like my mom’s wedding ring. And that’s...”
“White gold,” Eddie and Gareth said together.
Jeff’s eyes nearly bulged out of his head. “You mean to tell me that Steve got you a necklace made of white gold and you still don’t think it’s a declaration of his undying love you?”
“Guys...” he whined. “It’s only the necklace. It can’t have cost that much, okay?”
Jeff ran his tongue over his lips, a sly look on his face.
“What?” Eddie barked.
“I’ll tell you what...” Jeff said shrewdly. “If he bought something for Buckley, too, we’ll learn all fucking ten minutes of Master of Puppets.”
Eddie grinned. But Brian and Gareth didn’t even have the decency to look worried.
“And if he hasn’t...” Jeff continued. “You’ll play Free Bird at the next gig at the Hideout.”
Eddie groaned. Both songs were long, but he thought Free Bird was boring. Not like Master of Puppets, that song had depths.
But then again... he was sure that Robin had something even nicer from Steve. Like diamond stud earrings or some shit.
“You’re on.”
Jeff smiled as they shook on it and it made Eddie doubt a bit.
Nah.
He had this on lock.
*
Eddie came bounding up to the counter at Steve and Robin’s job at the bookstore. Just another in their long line of jobs they had together.
“Where is your soulmate?” he asked the very disgruntled Robin.
She rolled her eyes. “He’s at home. With another migraine.”
Eddie winced. “That’s the third one this week.”
Robin nodded. “He’s got an appointment with a neurologist next week, but I’m stuck here, while he’s at home being miserable.”
Eddie pouted. “Poor Birdie. I can check up on him on my way home?”
“Thanks,” she said, a little bit of tension leaving her body.
“Speaking of your soulmate,” he said. “Did he show you what he got me?”
Robin shook her head. “I didn’t even realize he had gotten you anything.”
Eddie frowned, but took off his necklace and handed it to her.
She smiled at the initials. “That dingus. That’s really sweet of him.”
He told her the whole story. “So what did he get you?” he asked when he finished.
Robin furrowed her brow. “Nothing.”
Eddie reared back his head. “That’s not possible. He loves you the most in all the world. He would have gotten you something.”
She gently took his hand, the necklace tangling around their fingers. “Eddie, he loves you, too. Just as much, just differently.”
He reached out with his free hand and fingered the braided chain. “Jeff... the whole band really thought it was a declaration of true love.”
“They sound pretty smart to me.”
Eddie pursed his lips. He nodded. “I’ve got to go. Don’t worry, I’ll still check up on him.”
He untangled their hands and put the necklace back on.
Robin watched him go with a fond smile on her face. They were both stupid. But they were getting there.
*
Eddie had made sure Steve had taken his medicine and was lying down in his room with an ice pack on his head.
He was snooping. He was usually against that. Like with every fiber of his being, but this was extenuating circumstances. He couldn’t ask Steve as it was for a surprise for him. Couldn’t ask Robin, he loved her but she would blurt out the surprise. Just randomly. Without prompting.
So he was snooping around looking for a specific piece of paper he knew Robin kept in one of three places. Her nightstand. Wasn’t there. Next to the phone. Again, not there. So he was rifling through their junk drawer in a last ditch effort to find what he was looking for.
EUREKA! He found it.
He copied the information and then put the paper back. He carefully put the paper in his wallet.
He stayed nearby until Robin came home, but Steve slept straight through the changing of the guard.

Still Into You
pairings: hazel callahan x reader
warnings: obliviousness, literally so oblivious that its frustrating, bad writing
key: *** - time skip, faux - fake
summary: The Fight Club has been trying to get Hazel and Y/N forever, so when Y/N has a concert with her band, the Fight Club tries to bring the two together..
Tumblr media
For as long as the fight club could remember, Hazel and Y/N had been hopelessly in love with each other, but the two were clearly, completely oblivious. Really, it stressed everyone out. No matter what they tried, the two idiots could not get together. They had tried everything. They planted fake love letters, they set up real love letters, they arranged blind dates with each other, they even tried locking them in a room (subtly of course), but nothing seemed to work.
“Nothing is working,” PJ complained to the group. They were having a secret meeting without Hazel and Y/N. “This has gone on for far too long,” PJ said, the group nodding in agreement. “I mean, at least Y/N tries. Hazel’s the problem.”
“No, remember when Hazel got Y/N coffee,” Brittany pointed out.
“She got all of us coffee.”
“Oh,” Brittany said dejectedly.
“Yeah, she was only going to get it for Y/N, but she chickened out last minute,” Josie recalled. The group collectively face palmed. “Ok guys, we have to come up with something.” As the group sat in silence trying to come up with a new plan, a loud gasp came from Stella-Rebecca.
“Oh my gosh I totally forgot, Y/N has a band concert and she invited all of us!” The girls started chattering excited as Stella-Rebecca started passing out the tickets before Annie clapped her hands.
“That’s it,” she exclaimed. The group turned to her in confusion. “This is how we get them together! We get Y/N to sing a song to confess her feelings, and we help Hazel know that she’s singing it for her. It’s perfect!” Unconsciously, the group mentally simultaneously agreed that Annie was the smartest of the group.
“Great idea,” Isabel gushed. “So how are we gonna do this?” The girls huddled around Annie, ready to here the game plan.
“Ok, so here’s what we’re gonna do..”
***
“Hey are you good over there,” the lead singer asked. Y/N nodded, nervously tapping her guitar. The fight club had told her to sing a love song, and look directly at Hazel to confess. In all honesty, Y/N would do anything just for Hazel to finally realize her feelings. This was the last resort, so she would give it her all.
“Ready guys? We’re on in five,” the drummer notified the group. Nodding, they got in position. Taking a deep breath, Y/N reassured herself that she could do it.
While Y/N was getting ready, the fight club found their seats, putting Hazel directly where Y/N would be able to view her easily and vice versa.
“So Hazel, you ready to see your girlfriend,” Sylvie teased. Blushing, Hazel shook her head in denial.
“She’s not my girlfriend,” Hazel said with a faux scowl. I wish, Hazel thought to herself.
“With how she talks about you, I’m honestly surprised,” Annie enticed. Annie was sure that if Hazel had puppy ears, they would be perked right now. Hook, line, and sinker.
“How does she talk about me,” Hazel asked curiously, trying to play it off smoothly. The group subtly gave each other knowing glances before Annie answered the oblivious girl.
“She always says, ‘Hazel’s so pretty’, ‘Hazel’s so organized’, ‘she’s so cool when she fights’. Seems like she really likes you.” Blushing, Hazel looked off into the distance. Maybe Y/N did like her as more than a friend? No, of course not, she think’s of Hazel as ‘just a friend’. a/n: fucking adrien agreste vibes
“I think Y/N told me that she would be singing the last song specifically for you, Hazel,” Isabel said slyly. Head snapping towards Isabel, she bombarded the poor girl with questions.
“Really? For me? You’re not joking?” Isabel blinked before answering.
“Yes, yes, and no,” Isabel smiled. A huge smile settled on Hazel’s face before the light’s dimmed. The group focused their attention to the stage, where their friend stood on stage. As the audience applauded loudly at the band’s entrance, Hazel clapped the loudest.
The band made their way through the songs, until finally they were at the last one.
“Before we finish up with our last song,” Y/N said with a bright smile. “I wanna dedicate this last one to someone I’ve been trying to tell them, but they’re just a little bit oblivious.” With a nervous smile, Y/N stared directly at Hazel, and motioned for the band to start. The main singer took a step back for Y/N to sing. They started playing and Hazel could recognize the song, ‘Still Into You’, by Paramore. Oh my god, Hazel thought. This was their song. The song playing when they met. The song playing when both girls fell for each other. Theirs. As Y/N sang, her gaze never left Hazel’s.
“Even after all this time,” Y/N sang, looking at Hazel. “I’m into you. Baby, not a day goes by, that I’m not into you!” As they finished the song, a huge applause came out, Hazel’s mouth dropped. ‘I love you Haze’, Y/N mouthed. Hazel could feel her heart beating hard in her chest and she finally mouthed the words back.
‘I love you too’.
A/N: @deadgirlwalkingtaylorsversion wrote a post asking about the reader confessing unconsciously during a concert, but I tried putting my own little twist to it (hope that’s ok). I’m taking requests if y’all have any! Hope you all liked it!

HIII OMG IM YOUR BIGGEST FAN!! headcanons for malleus x female reader who is alternative and likes DIYing and going to shows!
malleus w/ an alternative!female reader * . -
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
OK RIGHT SO FIRST OF ALL i think malleus would be really interested in alternative fashion once he finds out you're into it.
the guy alr looks alternative so.
he'd accompany you to try on clothes to help you find your style and even offer you advice on what he thinks works and what doesn't
i can see you subjecting him to a makeshift fashion show at ramshackle where you model all your outfits and he kind of just stares and nods in approval.
like listen, he isn't especially good with words but i think he'd always try to support you no matter what.
"right, okay - so what about this one?' "you look lovely." malleus replied with a rare smile. he seriously meant it - you looked great. "malleus, you've said that about all the other ones i tried on." you folded your arms, spinning around for malleus to get a better look at the outfit. "those looked great too," he said, tapping his hand against his thigh as he kept that same smile on his face. "i liked them all, actually." "malleus.."
as for your diy hobby, i think he'd be supportive as well!!
though he'd probably question you on why you'd DIY something like that when you could just buy it yourself.
(rich kid problems..)
and when you explained the reason you did so - explaining you just like making your own clothes - he never asked again after that.
in fact, i think he'd gain a better understanding of your hobby and try his best to like bring you little trinkets that'll help spice up your already limited arsenal of sewing tools.
it'd start off small with new little pincushions that he thought you'd like till it gets to the point you wake up one day and there's a brand new sewing machine from malleus on your bedside table that lilia delivered overnight.
i also think he'd love to stand off to the side while you work and hold stuff for you so your space isn't too cluttered and overwhelm you.
"would you hold this for a second, mal?" you muttered, eyebrows knitted in concentration as you held out a random piece of fabric for the man to take. malleus hummed in agreement, taking the fabric from you and holding it in his already full hands. "what're you making this time..?" he asked, inching a bit closer as he leaned down to look over your shoulder. "just touchin' up my battle vest," you replied without breaking concentration. "...is it always this easy for you to do this?" he asked, peering to get a better look. "it gets easier over time," you murmured, turning to look at the tall man behind you. "why?" "i..wanted to learn a bit more about it."
in all honesty, i dont think malleus is a stranger to going to shows at all.
lilia has definitely dragged him out of the house to accompany him so he wouldn't spend all day bed rotting.
the experience was..well, he didn't hate it.
i think he was just a bit confused on what he was supposed to do and he didn't even know who was playing so that didn't help his experience.
i think you introduced him to a band you're really into and he warmed up to it, he'd be wayyy more inclined to go.
like i mean obv he'd still go even if he didn't know the band but still!!
it'd be more fun if you two were mutually bonding over something together.
The only downside of going to shows is the loud sounds - that'd likely turn him off.
"can you see now, (nickname)?" malleus asked, he was currently holding you up in his arms so you'd get a better glimpse of the concert stage. "i can see them - i think..!" you replied, heart swelling with excitement. malleus felt a smile creep onto his face as you gushed about the band and how much more you could see. he figured he'd be more comfortable if he was floating however, the feeling of having you in his arms proved to be a bit too much for him judging by his heart pounding in his ears. "malleus - hey, are you listening?" "hmm..?" he asked, meeting your eye reluctantly. "oh..sorry - my arms were going limp for a moment."
overall, he'd LOVE your freaking alternative fashion so much.
i think he'd even get hyper-fixated on the story behind the alternative/punk movements too.
like you'd be randomly talking and he'd drop a fact he learned about the movement a week ago out of nowhere.

"Eddie!" Chrissy squeals over the radio bluetooth and Eddie can't help the smile that break across his face.
"Hey Chris! How's my best girl?" Eddie hadn't seen his best friend in months. She had gone off to IU and Eddie had stayed in Chicago working on a tattoo apprenticeship.
They had both been so busy, Eddie with his work and Chrissy was busy with college and--well Chrissy had apparently went a gotten herself involved with a metal band? Eddie was very confused about the specifics, but he had finally gotten some time off and Chrissy's band had a gig in Indianapolis tonight so, they were making a vacation of it.
"I'm so excited you're coming tonight! The band is so excited to meet you! Even though they've seen pictures, they are convinced I made you up!" Chrissy giggles and Eddie laughs with her.
"Yeah, I'm sure they think I'm a garbage best friend, but I'm gonna be the loudest motherfucker there, I swear to god. First round after the shows on me!"
Chrissy keeps laughing. "I'm glad you said it, cause Stevie was already telling everybody that my imaginary best friend had the honors of first round anyway."
Chrissy had told Eddie about Stevie. Going on, and on about her. 'Stevie is a fucking musical genius.' 'You won't believe what Stevie came up with today.' 'God, I can't wait for you and Stevie to meet, you guys are gonna hit it off immediately.' He was glad that Chrissy had found a girlfriend, she deserves the best, but Eddie would have to lay it on think when he met this Stevie chick. Make sure that she takes care of his girl.
Chrissy was a raging lesbian and Eddie was Kinsey six gay, but they were platonic soulmates until death and Stevie is gonna have to know that Eddie will kill for Chrissy Cunningham.
The bar was fucking packed. Christ. Eddie should be jealous. Before he had started tattooing he had always wanted to play music, but, shit. He was just fucking proud of Chrissy.
After he had kicked back of few shots of whiskey he was able to push his way up to the front of the crowd just as the stage lights started going haywire. The crowd was yelling and Eddie lost his shit when Chrissy came strutting out in a hot pink skater dress and chunk black doc martens. Her hair was pulled into ridiculously perky pigtails. How this was going to be a metal performance Eddie was very unsure, but he was excited as fuck to see her in anyway.
"Hiya Indy!" Chrissy yells. Eddie yells back with the audience and Chrissy squeals in the mic when she sees Eddie cheering for her. "Hi Eds!" She runs up grabbing his hand and Eddie laughs, squeezing her hand quickly, before she pulls away. "I'm Chrissy Cunningham and me and my band Versailles are super excited to be back here. Well, without further ado my boys are gonna come out here and we'll get this party started huh?"
The crowd goes wild and Eddie watches as three men come running out. There's a drummer, a bassist, and a guitarist. Eddie is stoked as hell. Watching as Chrissy hypes up the band. He hears someone in the crowd yell "Where's Steve?"
Chirssy ears perk up. "Stevie? Oh I'm sure Stevie's around here somewhere let me just--" She pulls out a hot pink flip phone. Eddie lets out a loud laugh as he recognizes the damn thing as Chrissy's first phone, from seventh grade. His laughter is cut short as a dial tone starts playing over the speakers
It's a bit.
"Hi Stevie! I--I mean Ken…Um…Are you free right now? I have a song that I need you on. Like now?" Chrissy speaks into the microphone, and the crowd zeroes in on Chrissy as she 'calls' for Stevie. Eddie is so busy being impressed with his best friends stage presence he almost misses the smoke show that comes running out from stage right.
He's pretty sure he should pick his fucking jaw up from the floor. The man has on the tightest jeans Eddie has ever seen tucked into clunky combat boots, framing his ass…quite nicely. His hair is styled far too perfect for a metal show, but Eddie is not complaining. The kicker though, is the hot pink tactical vest he has on over his shirtless, very hairy--fuck--chest. Is this a concert or is this one of Eddie's fucked up sexual fantasies?
Eddie snaps his mouth shut, eyes wide as he stares at Chrissy and…Stevie.
Oh Shit.
Eddie watches as Stevie--Steve--the source of Eddie's very confused boner right now--whatever the hell his name is--pulls the flip phone out of her hand and leans into the mic.
They both smile right at Eddie. He swears he sees Chrissy wink.
"Let's Party."
Eddie is both entertained and internally tormented throughout the rest of the show. Chrissy knew exactly what she was doing, forgetting to mention that Stevie was a) A man and b) exactly Eddie's fucking type.
Eddie liked pretty boys, and apparently this pretty boy knew how to scream, which--that was--that was doing for Eddie.
Throughout the show Eddie picked up that Chrissy did a fair amount of clean vocals and Steve did a mix between cleans and screaming. Versailles as a whole was actually pretty good, but Eddie was going to have to apologize to Chrissy, because he only had eyes for Steve.
Should he be embarrassed for popping a boner at his apparently metalheaded best friends show? Probably, but--he was not. Steve was fucking hot.
He was also a fucking menace. He kept running up to Eddie, grabbing at his hands, leaning down to scream in his fucking face, and Chrissy, when she caught him doing it, just smirked.
Eddie was gonna kill her.
Eddie leaned against the bar, waiting as the crowd around Versailles died down and spread out. He caught Chrissy's eye as she hopped off the stage running up to Eddie at full speed. She jumped into his arms, "Eddieee!"
Eddie huffed out a laugh. "You have so much explaining to do." He whispered into her ear.
Chrissy just laughed as Eddie set her down, smiling from ear to ear. "Yeah, and I think you owe a pretty boy a drink."

With you, everything's okay (USWNT x ADHD Reader)
This is part 3 of the ADHD reader series. It's kinda long, but hope you enjoy!
Part one
Part two
Words: 4.6K
Due to the Adderall shortage I didn't have much of my medication, which was not great. I was supposed to get a refill a couple of days ago, but I wasn't able to yet. It could be a few days, weeks or months until I got more. Given what's been on the news, it was something I had anticipated so I had a few days worth for when I really needed it. I had a doctors appointment next week to try figure out a different medication, but I was almost tempted to just not do it. When I first got medication for my ADHD it was a long process of dose adjustments, and dealing with side effects. It was mentally and physically draining. It was something I didn't really want to go through again. The headaches and sleepless nights when I didn't take it were bad enough. Though I didn't know how I would cope long term without it.
We had just started another month long camp which made this whole thing just a bit more difficult. Ally wasn't with me and I wasn't sure if or when she would be able to visit. For now I was trying to distract myself. I had spent hours so far scouring the internet and going from jeweler to jeweler with Ali trying to find the perfect ring for Ally. None of them were good enough or matched who Ally was. She didn't like fancy rings with big stones or really any stones. She preferred more plain, flush bands with maybe a tiny stone. Ally deserved more than a plain band though. I just had to find the perfect one.
For the third or maybe fourth time I had dragged Ali out shopping with me. It had probably been hours and I still hadn't found anything that was right. I was starting to get frustrated when Ali literally dragged me away from the mall to the park across the road.
"You need to take a break."
"But-"
"No, you're getting frustrated and irritable so we're taking a break."
My eyes started to water as I hid my face in my hands, "I just want to find the ring she deserves Ali."
Ali sat down beside me, pulling me into her side, "I know and we will. It'll just take some time, it's only been a few weeks since you got engaged. Have you looked into custom design rings?"
I had gotten Ally a cheap ring in the mean time, but I hated that she had to wait for a proper one. "I didn't even think of that."
We went back to the hotel after getting lunch. Since Ali mentioned it, I was itching to look into designer rings. I had briefly on my phone, but Ali quickly stopped me so I would actually eat. It was a free day so I locked myself in my room quickly going down the rabbit hole of custom rings. I spent hours comparing different companies and small businesses, calling or emailing them to figure out more around pricing and what type of designs they could do. I ended up finding a small business that could get it done in about 2-3 weeks once the design was decided on.
The design was the next thing I got lost in. I wanted to get it done as soon as possible so Ally could finally get the ring to go with the proposal. There were a couple of ideas that I was playing around with, but it was hard to choose just one. I don't know how long it had been when my phone rang breaking me out of my fixation. Of course it was a facetime from Ally, her ringtone always brought me back to reality.
Hey baby
Hi
What's got you so distracted that you didn't even look at me? I miss my beautiful smile
I laughed, quickly glancing at her, involuntary smile stretching across my face,Nothing, sorry
Right, I'll pretend I believe you. Did you eat?
It's not dinner yet
Baby, it's 9pm where you are.
No it's no- Oh shit, I got distracted
Ally giggled, the sound making my heart skip a beat. I wished she was here. I figured, Ali is going to bring you something since I know you won't leave whatever it is you're doing.
Thank you Al. Can I ask you something?
Anything
If you had to pick one thing from our relationship, date, holiday, whatever really, what's your favourite thing?
That's a hard one. Do you remember our snowboarding trip?
Our first trip together was a snow boarding trip. We hadn't been together very long and we ended up getting snowed in with no power for 2 nights. All we could do was read, cuddle, play board games, talk and try to keep the fire going. Ally and I had connected from the start, but that trip was a sort of turning point in our relationship. We got to know each other on a deeper level, telling each other all the intimate and deep parts of ourselves. That was when I told her about my adhd, my family, how they acted and how I felt growing up.
It was the first time I ever cried in front of her. There had been a sense of shame wash over me. I wasn't one to cry in front of people, it had been ingrained in me since I was young. Ally had just held me tightly, whispering reassurances then making me laugh harder then I had in a long time. She had never judged me about anything. Sure, occasionally she would tell me I was being stupid, but she always had my back.
Where's that head of yours baby?
Sorry, I was just thinking back to that trip. It was a disaster, but I loved that trip.
Me too. I think that's my favourite
There was a knock on the door before I could reply. My stomach growled when I saw the food Ali was holding. I hadn't realised how hungry I actually was. In all honesty, I probably wouldn't have eaten if Ali hadn't shown up with food,  "Thank you Ali."
"You're welcome. I'm just glad someone could get through to you. We've all been texting and calling you, even knocked on the door. We figured you were asleep or completely zoned out."
"You got Ally to call me?"
"She was already going to. I just asked if she had heard from you. I didn't want to wake you up if you were asleep, I know the last couple of days have been hard."
"I appreciate that. I got stuck into that thing we were talking about. I'll show you later."
Ally and I continued to talk while I kept working on the design and she started to fall asleep. I stayed on the phone with her even after she fell asleep. We had always slept on facetime together when we were apart. It made us feel closer when we couldn't be.
By time 4am rolled around I had finally finished the design idea. I had done a rough sketch, but also described my idea so the person could adjust if needed to what they could do. My design idea was mountains that wrapped around the entire band. A textured sky to resemble a snowy day with a small set diamond to look like the moon and hopefully someway to make the mountains look like it was covered in snow. I didn't know if it was completely possible, but even something remotely like that would be okay. I quickly sent it off before I could overthink and change my mind. I was very glad that we had another day off tomorrow.
---
"Ally!" I ran, jumping in her arms and hugging her tightly. "What are you doing here?"
"Thought I would surprise you again."
"Not that I don't love that you're here, but aren't you busy at work?"
"I am, but I can work remotely now."
"You can? Wait, you got the promotion?" Ally nodded, huge smile on her face as I picked her up and spun her around, kissing her hard. "Oh my god, this is amazing. You are amazing. I am so fucking proud of you Ally."
The girls wandered into the lobby, greeting Ally with quick hugs, "Guys! Ally got the promotion!"
Some of the girls practically jumped on Ally telling her how proud they were. They had even dragged her out for dinner that night saying that we had to celebrate her achievement. Some even going as far as doing speeches. I loved how much they adored Ally, how they had welcomed her into the team without hesitation.
We were lying in bed that night, wrapped up in each other. I brushed a piece of hair out of her face before kissing her softly, "I really am so proud of you Ally. You're amazing. You've worked so hard for this, you deserve this."
"Thank you Y/n. I couldn't have done it without your love and constant support even if my job bores you."
"Yeah well, for you I will go through all the boring shit in life a million times over." I kissed her softly before sighing, "I'm sorry Al."
Ally's forehead creased as her eyebrows drew together, "What are you apologising for?"
"I'm sorry that it's been weeks since I proposed and I haven't gotten you a proper ring yet. You deserve the perfect ring and I'm sorry you don't have it yet."
She smiled softly, cupping my cheek and making me look at her, "Do you remember what I said when you asked me to marry you?" I shook my head. All I remembered was her saying yes and being very excited. "I told you that I don't care about a ring and I meant it. If this was the only ring you got me, I wouldn't care. All I care about is being with you okay?"
"I love you Ally so fucking much. I just- Your ring is on the way, I just don't know when it'll get here."
"It's okay, I already know I'll love it."
---
Arms wrapped around me from behind, kisses being placed along my jaw. I turned my head, connecting our lips in a long kiss as I pulled her round to my lap. Ally squealed against my lips, giving me the opportunity to slip my tongue into her mouth. A breathy moan slipped from Ally as our tongues met. After a couple of seconds, Ally's fingers dug into my shirt as she pushed me away, "We're in the meal room."
"That can be changed besides no one else is here."
"I have a meeting in half an hour so stop being a horndog and show me what had you so focused."
"You can't blame me, you know what your work clothes do to me."
I had been looking at different wedding themes on Pinterest, but I was struggling to find ones that might actually suit Ally and I. We were very simple people, we didn't need anything fancy to be happy. We weren't traditional either. It was something we used to make jokes about, how we would go the complete opposite way, have some random colour instead of white, casual clothes and a barbeque. Just one big party. I didn't know what we were actually going to do. When we talked about it, it was just an idea, far off in the future. Now it was a reality and I was so excited to marry Ally. I knew we actually had to talk about when we wanted to do it, but I couldn't wait to marry her.
I turned my computer so Ally could see, "Anyway, I'm looking at wedding ideas. We should talk about when we want to do it, soon, sooner, soonish, far away, somewhere in the middle. I mean, I'm really fucking excited to marry you, but if you wan-"
"Okay baby, take a breath. You just named three times that are pretty much the same and aren't actually times."
"Sorry, I'm just excited. You know I never thought I would want to get married, let alone be this excited about it."
Ally wrapped her arms around me, kissing my temple, "I know Y/n/n. Don't apologise for being excited, I never meant to make it sound like a bad thing. Trust me, I can't wait to marry you and I love that you are excited to marry me, I would be kind of mad if you weren't."
I giggled, nuzzling my nose against her neck, "So what do you think?"
"Well, I think the sooner the better."
"Exactly what I was thinking. The more I look, the more I'm convinced on a court house wedding. It's such a process."
"A court house wedding would be a lot easier."
"No! you can't have a court house wedding," Kelley yelled making us jump and me glare at her.
---
Today was the worst day yet without my meds. I was exhausted, my head hurt, I was irritable beyond belief, every little sound or touch felt a hundred times worse and I couldn't focus on anything. There had been a very small handful of times in our relationship that I couldn't handle Ally's touch, this was one of those times. It always made me feel like shit, guilty that my own girlfriend couldn't even touch me. That didn't help me feel any better. Ally was always so understanding about it all, reassuring me that it was okay and dealing with my over touching afterwards to make up for it. Today was no different, Ally had been amazing, giving me space, reassuring me.
Ally had brought me lunch so I wouldn't have to be around the team. We were sitting on the floor in silence after eating. Normally, just being near Ally would help but everything was starting to get too overwhelming. I felt like I was about to explode, like any second I would break. And I did. I didn't mean for it to happen, things just boiled over. Ally suggested we go for a walk, she knew it would help, so did I but I couldn't bring myself to leave the room. I ended up snapping at her.
"Come on Y/n/n, you know it'll help."
"Just give it a rest! I don't need you pestering me, I'm not a child, I'm an adult, I can handle this myself. Just back off."
Ally just looked at me for a second before getting up and walking out. I buried my hands in my hair, pulling slightly. Maybe it wasn't the most healthy thing, but it helped ground me. Well normally it would. It helped enough to snap me out of it and realised I fucked up, "Fuck."
Tears fell before I could stop them as I curled up in a ball and cried. I had never snapped at Ally like that before. Sure we had fights occasionally, but there was never yelling. I cried and sobbed, letting everything from the last week or so out. Being off my meds was exhausting, physically but mostly mentally. My mind was almost constantly a mess. It took me back to how I felt growing up. Like I was annoying, a burden, stupid. That the people around me only put up with me because they had to. Ally included.
Once the tears finally stopped, I just lay there staring at the celling. It's like I was stuck there, I knew I had to go find Ally, but I couldn't move. The door opened then I felt someone sit down next to me. I knew it wasn't Ally, she always wore a perfume that I would recoganise instantly.
"What's going on Y/n/n?" Christens soft voice filled the silence.
"It's too much. I-I don't know if I can handle this. I'm just a burden to everyone around me. I fucked up, Ally hates me. It's just too much Chris."
"Y/n Y/l/n you are not a burden. I know things are hard without your medication, but that does not mean you are a burden. We love you, we are here for you okay? I know it's hard, I know it feels overwhelming, but we've got you. We've always got you Y/n. Ally could never hate you, she loves you. Did something happen with her?"
"I fucked up. I snapped at her when she was just trying to help. I've never done anything like that before. I fucked up Chris," My voice cracked, tears somehow welling up again.
Christen pulled me into her. I didn't fight it, instead gripping her shirt tightly as sobbed wracked through me again. She rubbed my back, whispering quiet reassurances. Eventually Christen moved, being replaced by someone else who held me tight, hand slipping under my shirt and drawing patterns along my skin. Perfume overtook my senses, that sweet perfume I knew so well. I sobbed harder, gripping her shirt as if my life depended on it. In a way it did. I couldn't imagine my life without Ally in it. She understood me in a way no one else did, she knew how to calm me down, how to support me, how to make me laugh. Most importantly she loved me despite my flaws.
"I'm sorry Ally, I'm so sorry. Please forgive me, I'm so-"
"Shhh, it's okay, I've got you baby, I've got you."
It took a while, but eventually the tears stopped. I sat up, moving away from Ally to sit against the bed. I felt myself go numb. Over the years, it had become my way to protect my self when things, especially emotions got too much. It hadn't happened in a while. Things were never too much when Ally was around, it was manageable. Right now I didn't know where we stood and I was scared.
I felt two warm hands cup my cheeks and soft lips press against my forehead, "Don't do that. Don't blank out on me. Come back to me."
"W-what are you doing here?"
"Chris texted, she was worried about you, said you needed me."
"You came even after I said what I did."
Ally laced her fingers with mine, "Of course I did. While I didn't appreciate what happened, I know you didn't mean it. Besides, you needed me. I will always be there for you when you need me."
"I'm sorry for snapping at you, I was just so overwhelmed. I don't know if I can do this Al. It's just so much."
She pulled me up, wrapping me tightly in her arms then guiding me so we were cuddled in bed, "I know it's hard baby, I know it's frustrating, but we've got this. I'm right here by your side every step of the way, I'm not going anywhere."
"We're okay?"
"We're okay baby. You owe me a massage though, when you're feeling better to make up for this."
I chuckled, cuddling into her side, my eyes getting heavy, "Deal. I love you Al."
"I love you Y/n. Try and get some sleep. I'm finished work for the day. Chris is going to bring dinner for us a bit later."
---
The ring had just arrived at the hotel and I was scared to open it. I ran straight up to Ali, pulling her away much to the confusion of Ally and everyone else. I shoved the package at her, making her stumble back a bit.
"Calm down a bit Y/n/n. What is it?"
"The ring. Can you open it? I'm kinda scared."
Ali carefully opened the package then the box. I was way more nervous than I expected to be. I had spent so long trying to find the perfect ring, I guess I was worried this wouldn't be it, that it wasn't anything close to what I was hoping for.
"This is beautiful Y/n. It's perfect."
I slowly took the box from Ali, freezing when I saw it. It was exactly what I had envisioned. Seeing the ring felt like a weight had been lifted. After spending so much time searching, I finally had the ring Ally deserved. Thoughts of her not liking it tried to creep in, but I managed to push them away. I knew Ally would like it. "It's exactly what I wanted. It came out way better than I expected."
"So are you just going to give it to her? Or do another proposal?"
"I'm not sure. I was kind of thinking about proposing again just for the fun of it. The original proposal wasn't that special."
"I think you'll find to Ally it was. Even if it wasn't extravagant, it was just the two of you. Personal and intimate."
"Probably. Let's be honest, I just want to spoil her. Can you hold onto this for me? I'm terrified of losing it."
Ali wrapped her arm around me, trying not to laugh, "Of course I will. Let me know if you need help planning it. Let's get back before they start to question it."
Ally was going to say yes. Knowing that let the excitement bubble up instead of the nerves. I was incredibly excited to propose to her, the plan was already coming together in my mind. I didn't want to wait, all going well it was going to happen tonight.
Once we got back, I beelined to Ally, "I have two questions. First, will you go on a date with me tonight? Second, do you want to go make out?"
"Yes and definitely yes."
---
Since we started dating, picnics were a big part of our relationship. We both had jobs that meant we dealt with a lot of people. Picnics were the way we escaped reality and people without being inside or around our flat mates at the time. I figured there was no better place to propose then on a picnic.
Because our date was last minute and we had practice today, I hadn't had enough time to set up the picnic. Ali had agreed to set up the picnic while I took Ally bowling. She loved bowling and it gave time to set everything up. Ally had won by a lot which was not a surprise, I sucked at bowling. Of course she had gloated about it, but with the proud smile she wore, I couldn't even be annoyed.
Before we left, I had texted Ali to make sure everything was set up so we didn't get there too early. I was driving when the reply came in. Ally went to check like normal, but I quickly stopped her, much to her confusion.
"You can't check that one, it'll ruin the surprise." I pulled over checking the message, making sure to hide it from Ally. Thankfully she didn't question it.
Ali: Food took longer then planned, just picked it up, need 10 minutes to finish everything. Also found the perfect place to film it.
Ally was wearing a grey sweater, white blouse underneath with the collar showing and black jeans. I don't know what it was, but I found her incredibly attractive when she wore stuff like that. It was mostly for work which is why I got kicked out when she was working. I couldn't keep my hands to myself. "So we need to kill 10 minutes. You look incredibly beautiful so lets make out."
"Yeah okay."
Ali had set up a blanket on the beach with candles, rose petals and a small speaker for music. Instead of doing the classic picnic foods, I got Ali to pick up some Thai food because it was Ally's favourite and another one of our traditions.
I watched Ally's eyes light up as we approached the picnic, "Baby, this is beautiful. How did you set this up?"
"I may have gotten Ali to help set it up. You like it?"
"You don't even have to ask, I love everything you do. This is perfect baby. Is that Thai? I'm starving."
I had planned to do the proposal first for 3 reasons. I was terrified of losing the ring, it was likely I would get more nervous as time went on and Ali was waiting to film it. "It is, you need to wait a minute before we eat."
I found the ring before taking Ally's hand, "Growing up I never thought I would find someone who loved me so unconditionally, who loved me as I was. Who would stick by me and support me through everything. But I did. I found you and I never want to lose you. I want you, no I need you by my side for the rest of my life. I love you Ally, more than you will ever know. I know you've already said yes, but I wanted to do this properly." I sunk down on one knee, opening the box, "Will you marry me Ally?"
"Yes, a million times yes." I easily slipped the ring onto her finger watching her eyes widen as she looked at the ring closer. "Holy shit Y/n, this is amazing. Where did you find it?"
"I designed it. It's based on the snowboarding trip."
"Just when I thought I couldn't love you more, you prove me wrong. You are amazing baby. Words can't describe how much I love this. I want this to be my wedding ring as well. It's too perfect to just be an engagement ring. Is that allowed?"
"We can do whatever we want. Ali filmed that by the way, I wanted it for our memories."
---
Ally and I were looking at wedding ideas together for the first time. At first I was slightly worried that we weren't going to be on the same page, that it might cause fights. I had seen it happen to couples before. I quickly realised that it was a pointless worry, we were on the same page about everything so far. We wanted simple, non-traditional.
We had started looking at things we would need for the wedding, such as the venue and catering. Everything we had looked at so far was expensive, which I guess wasn't that much of a surprise, everyone always says weddings are expensive.
I sighed, pushing the laptop away and turning to Ally, "Why are weddings so expensive? Like I know we can afford it, but it just seems like a waste."
"I know, it's just one day, we could use that money towards our honeymoon or a house."
I straddled Ally, hiding my face against her shoulder. As much as I loved planning things, without my meds, even that was slightly overwhelming after a bit of time. There were so many options and things to consider, "We could do a backyard wedding. Ali and Ash might let us use their place if we asked nice enough."
"Of course we would." I jumped, turning around to find them both standing there.
"I swear the word wedding is like a magnet for all of you. Every time it's mentioned, someone shows up."
"Well you guys keep talking about it in places where there's a high likely hood of someone being around. Anyway, we would love to have your wedding at our place if that's what you wanted."
Reluctantly, I climbed off Ally, moving to stand by Ali and Ash, "You would really do that for us?"
Ali smiled softly, pulling me in for a hug, "Of course we will kiddo. You're family. You're family too Ally."
I noticed Ally trying to hide her smile. No matter how much they showed they loved her or treated her like part of the team, I still got the same warm, almost ecstatic feeling. To me the team was family. The fact that they saw Ally as family was really important to me. "We're not planning anything over the top or even overly traditional, just simple with friends and family."
"Are your parents going to be there?" Ashlyn tried to hide the annoyance in her voice when mentioning my parents, but it didn't work. I wasn't surprised by it, when they found out what it was like for me growing up, they were pissed.
I had opened up to them about a lot of things, especially Ali, but besides vague information about how they treated me, my parents never really came up. "No, I um cut them off about 3 years ago. They were just destroying my mental health. Ally's parents will be there though, they pretty much took me in."
"They like you more than me sometimes."
"Well we can't wait to meet them."

In a way, it was sort of your fault for not hearing the warning in time. But then again, no one carrying an axe should be calling you out just as they’re about to walk into you and make coffee slosh and spill over your hands and clothes.
It was hard not to join everyone staring at the firemen who were trying to rescue the owner trapped on the roof. But you were already running late, and had it not been for the one who just chopped open the door, you would have made it through the day without—albeit, exaggerated—a near-death experience.
As soon as you slipped out the door, you stole a few glances back at him—the tattoos on his forearm and his clean-cut dirty blond hair…yeah. It was really hard not to stare.
You suppose there were worse ways to go.

Twenty-four hours later, you were back at the coffee shop just as routine dictated. As the barista lined up your usual order, you reached for your wallet when a beep sounded from the cash register in front of you.
“Here’s your receipt and your change, Sir. Have a great day!”
You looked up just in time to see someone stuff their wallet in their pocket.
Someone with familiar thin bands tattooed just below his elbow.
Gone was the dark blue uniform, but the shirt he had on now fit him just as nicely. His hair was fixed the same way, though. And seeing him up close showed a unique birthmark sitting on top.
“I figured I owe you from yesterday,” he mused referring to your coffee run-in. “I’m Buck, by the way.”
You couldn’t help but smile at his charm as you shook his hand and gave your name. “How’d you know I’d be here anyway?”
“I didn’t,” he shrugged, “but I was hoping you would.”
The two of you stepped out. As you walked slowly towards the direction of your office, he matched step with yours.
“So, Buck. You’ve done something nice for me, so now I feel like I owe you something,” you pointed amusedly.
He shook his head. “I spilled your coffee and I bought you a new one. No repaying necessary,” he smiled.
“Sure,” you said playfully, “because you stalked my coffee shop and walked me to my office just because.”
He tried to play it off, realizing he was just found out. “Hey, if you really wanna call it even, then maybe you can go out with me tonight. If you’re free, that is.”
Stopping at the corner of the block, you looked up at him. That hopeful look in his eyes almost had you feeling guilty about wanting to draw out your teasing.
“Pick me up at 5,” you said just before you crossed the street. “You know where to find me!”
Looking back, you definitely didn’t miss the growing smile on his face, and the way he tried to hide his little fist pump at your response.
You suppose it was a great way to repay the favor.

Tumblr media
ELECTRIC FOREST .
You had rented an air bnb kind of close to the festival cause camping did not sound appealing to either of you.
You had just gotten ready and decided that walking to the festival would be better than trying to get an Uber.
(Your outfit)
(Your bestfriends)
You both grab your phones and lock up before starting your 10 minute walk to the festival.
Oh my god I can’t believe we’re finally going to electric forest
Literally we’ve been dreaming of it for so long
Like the lights …the music …in the woods is gonna be beautiful
A spiritual experience for sure
We just gotta be careful you know some people slip shit into peoples drinks without them knowing
Yeah I know kinda scary but I’m only buying water with a cap no one is getting anything in there
Smart I honestly don’t even wanna drink I wanna fully be in the experience
Yeah same I wanna be fully in control of my body for this shit
God how much longer do we have until we reach the gates these shoes are kinda hurting
Uhhh only like 5 more minutes
Thank god
Yeah I didn’t really think about my shoe choice either
You finally reach the gates and show your wrist bands as they check the fanny pack your friend brought just so you could store your phones safely and then walked through the metal detectors. Once you were in you followed the path as the music got louder and the lights got brighter.
OH MY GOD
THIS IS SO FUCKING COOL
WERE HERE WERE ACTUALLY HERE
I KNOW WHAT THE FUCK I STILL CANT BELIEVE IT
As you guys kept walking people were roaming around talking going to the bathroom area and grabbing drinks
hey you wanna grab waters then head up to the big stage
yeah sounds good to me
You both went to buy water then made your way to the stage .
Hey I love your outfits
Thank you so much you look amazing I love your outfit so much
Thank youuu
Of course have a good time
You too
As you both approached the stage the lights went crazy as
Was playing.
Oh my god this song is good
Right brings me back to like middle school dude
Real as fuck let’s get into the crowd deeper
You both held hands tightly as you weaved through groups of people dancing around having a good time
You wanna go up further or go like middle crowd
Let’s get up further closer to the large tree line
Okay
You both got to the area you wanted to be and just started dancing around having fun with each other to some more songs .
Was playing as you both held onto each other laughing and dancing all over each other
You guys look great like those outfits wow a deep voice says from behind
You both turn to look at who said it . THE HOTEST MAN YOUVE BOTH EVER SEEN In YOUR ENTIRE LIFE. He had tattoos all over his neck ,chest and arms . He was GORGEOUS.
Thank you so much ! I love your tattoos by the way
Oh shit thank you I did most of them myself my friend who’s here with me did a good amount of them too
Wow you guys are talented. Are you a tattoo artist
Yeah we own a shop in new York
That’s so cool
Yeah it’s pretty fun he says smiling at you
So where is this friend your here with
He was following me he’s gotta be close
As he says that another super hot guy comes behind him
Hey man sorry I got caught in a big group and lost you
Nah your good man
So who are these lovely lady’s
Oh I’m y/n you say
I’m bf/n
Nice too meet you guys I’m John . I hope blain wasn’t annoying you guys he says smirking over at his friend.
Oh no not all
Would you guys care if we hung with you guys
Not at all the more the merrier you say smiling at him
He comes closer to you as his friend goes over to your bestfriend.
Blain wraps his arms around your waist from behind causing you to smile .
Is this okay
Yeah of course I don’t mind at all
You look over at your best-friend who is talking to blains friend smiling having a good time.
Starts playing as you and blain sway to the music you rest your head back on his chest.
Your both a little sweaty from how hot the June air is but it’s nice .
This song is so pretty you say looking back over your shoulder and up at Blaine
Yeah it is . I like the way you described it
Yeah it’s like cool but it’s just feels pretty
I get what you mean he says smiling down at you making you smile then look back up at the stage and lights
These lights are so fucking cool he says in your ear
You shudder a little from his breathe fanning your neck and his deep voice echoing through your ear
I know right it’s one of my favorite parts of a festival especially the glitter lights you say
Starts playing as you both continue fluidly swaying to the music as you look up the sky as a nice breeze blows over you .
Blaine spins you around to look at him as he grabs your waist and pulls you closer.
He’s significantly taller even on the shoes your wearing causing you to have to look up at him.
He smiles down at you as he lowers his face slowly til his mouth is at your ear.
Is playing as you feel his breathe hit your ear causing you to shiver a bit.
You are one of the most beautiful girls I’ve ever seen y/n
T-thank you Blaine you say getting week in the knees a bit from how close he is to you
He lifts his face a bit as he grabs his water taking a sip .
You look over at your friend to see her dancing with his friend watching the stage.
You look back at Blaine as he smiles at you and grabs your face bringing his closer.
His lips meet yours as you close your eyes and lean into the kiss immediately kissing back .
He slips his tongue in your mouth deepening the kiss . As your making out you swallow feeling something go down your throat but write it off as your mouth being dry .
He pulls away smiling down at you .
You smile at him as you spin back around too look back at the stage
Is playing as you bop your head to the beat.
Hey I’m gonna run to the bathroom
Okay sounds good
He walks over to his friend saying he’s going to the bathroom I’m guessing he had to go to so they both walk off .
Your best-friend comes back over to you smiling wide at you
I saw that kiss giiiirl they are so hot
I know right like damn also uh my mouth is dry and I need more water
Alright want me to come with
No no stay here have fun it shouldn’t take me too long I’ll just take my phone if I need you I’ll text you
Okay just be safe
I will love you be back in a sec
Love you too
You start walking through the crowd and back down the path through the trees to the drink areas
Playing as you make you walk.
Your head starts to feel fuzzy and your eyes have a hard time focusing causing you to stumble and fall into a hard object .
Whoever they are catches you
Wow you okay
I… um I don’t know you say trying to focus your eyes as you stand back up on wobbly legs
You definitely don’t look okay I mean that in the nicest way your eyes just look really weird
Y-yeah I can’t get them to focus I’m sorry for falling into you I don’t feel so normal right now
I’m sorry to ask but um did you take something
Hell no I would never ever take drugs
Your eyes finally start to focus but your limbs still feel heavy.
Did you by any chance kiss someone the guy asks causing you too look at his face causing your eyes to get wide
Did I just fall into . CHRIS STURNIOLO.you say in your head slightly still disoriented maybe you were seeing things.
I… um why would that matter
You say as you stare at him. Nope that’s definitely Chris sturniolo.
People will put pills on their tongue then kiss someone and let it go into their mouth . Pretty much drugging someone without them knowing
WHAT THE FUCK you accidentally yell In His face
S-sorry i didn’t mean to yell in your face
No your okay . But I’m guessing from that reaction you did kiss someone
Y-yeah I did but now that I think about it I felt something weird in my throat but I thought it was just my mouth being dry . Fuck how could I be so stupid
Hey hey your not stupid people are really sneaky about it it’s not your fault
It’s my fault that I’m such a whore for kissing a random guy without even thinking twice about it you say slapping your hand on your head disappointed by yourself
He grabs your hand taking it off your head
Well he was definitely hot wasn’t he he said laughing a little
Causing you to smile and laugh
Yeah sadly he was
I’m sorry he did that too you that’s really fucked up
Yeah I know how can people do that to someone else like drugs are dangerous I don’t even know what I am on right now
You say looking into his eyes . God is he beautiful through a screen but in person GOD DAMN .
Honestly it’s probably Molly or ecstasy that’s what most people bring to festivals
Fuck me dude this is bad you say starting to freak out . The last thing you expected is to be drugged your first night at the festival then stumble upon your fucking celebrity crush who has voiced he doesn’t like drugs causing you to be even more anxious knowing that this will be the way he remembers you . The drugged out girl who ran into him and waisted his night .
Where were you headed
Ummm … water I was going to get water
Okay come with me I’ll take you to get some water but uuuh… he stops talking
But what you say a bit confused
You wanna try and throw up before it fully gets in your system?
Actually that’s a good idea
Yeah okay I’ll hold your hair back but this way the trip might not come at all or at-least not as bad
Ugh Fuck okay I’m so sorry this is probably not how you wanted your night to go
No don’t apologize you definitely didn’t want your night to end up like this
No definitely not
You slowly bend over as he holds your hair back
You try pushing your fingers down your throat to make yourself throw up but it doesn’t work your fingers didn’t get deep enough .
Fuck it’s not working you say getting anxious you won’t be able to throw it up
Fuck okay try one more time for me
Mmm okay you breathe out
You try again but all it does is make your eyes water .
Fuck I can’t get deep enough . My gag reflex is barely there in the first place you say as you stand back up him still holding onto your hair
You look up at him as he looks down at you with a face you can’t read .
Okay what if I you know stick my fingers down your throat. I know that’s weird but my fingers are longer it might be the only way to get it out of your system
Oh Jesus are you sure that’s like really nasty
I’m sure I care more about you getting it out of your system then me having to stick my fingers in your mouth
Okay fine I’m sorry again this is so embarrassing
No it’s not trust me it could be way worse
Yeah your right
You bend back over as he brings his finger to you lips . You pause . Chris fucking sturniolo your celebrity crush is literally about to stick his fingers down your throat . How is this my life right now you thought .
Sweetheart you gotta open your mouth for this to work he chuckles slightly
Oh Fuck I’m sorry
You open your mouth as he slides his fingers down your throat hitting the back causing you to cough and gag on his fingers . He pulls them out as he hears you gag more .
Jesus how did you not throw up I was touching your uvula
Fuck idk maybe go deeper as deep as you can go
open back up he says causing you to laugh
Oh come on now is not the time to have a dirty mind
Sorry I’m sorry you say still laughing a bit . You look at him his face stern as his fingers move to your lips .
You look back at the ground as you open your mouth . He shoves his fingers deeper hitting the right spot as you throw up . He pulls his fingers out and that hand moves to your back rubbing softly as you get it out of your system.
That’s it’s let it out
You have tears running down your face as you gag and cough until your finally done and everything is definitely out of your system .
Your body and hands shaking a bit as you stand up and wipe your mouth .
I’m so sorry that was so disgusting
Again with the sorry . You don’t have to apologize to me about this really it’s okay
He moves his hand to your face as he rubs the tears away with his thumbs.
You smile slightly as the sweet gesture causing him to smile at you .
What he asks looking into your eyes
Nothing your just a really sweet person
Well thanks but let’s go get you that water and maybe something to eat since you just threw up everything you had all day .
yeah im really shake right now
I can see that he says laughing a little at you
hey don't laugh at me you say feeling still a bit embarrassed by the entire interaction you guys are having.
sorry sorry but come on you can hold onto my arm if you need to stay stable
you hold onto his arm as you both walk side by side slowly to the drink area.
so what's your name
y/n
nice to meet you y/n im chris
oh uhh yeah I know
oh ... you do
yeah ive watched your YouTube videos before you say awkwardly hoping that doesn't make him uncomfortable
he pauses walking
im sorry if that makes you feel uncomfortable
no no it doesn't just uhh awkward I just stuck my fingers down a fans throat he adds an awkward chuckle after
I mean I wouldn't call myself a fan tbh just someone who stumbles upon your videos sometimes for a good laugh
I get what you mean by that to be honest
im glad you do I don't want you thinking im like a crazy mega fan
honestly I don't think a crazy fan would act so chill in this situation he says as he starts walking again pulling you along with him.
yeah true honestly they would probably stutter and cry
yeah probably
you both laugh as you finally reach the drink stand
here sit down ill grab the stuff alright
oh no I cant let you pay for my stuff
no seriously its no problem just sit down
alright
you sit down as he grabs some waters and food them comes back over to you sitting next to you at the table
here you go hopefully it will make you feel a little less sick
thank you Chris seriously
of course he says with a smile
im glad you were the person I bumped into
oh yeah and why is that
honestly no-one would have even tried to help me get it out of my system or even been nice enough to notice something was wrong
yeah I guess your right about that most people would have just kept walking
you both are sharing fries he had gotten as you just share glances here and there.
so are you here alone or with people
im here with my best friend
ahh I see why didn't she come to get water with you
I told her to stay back I thought I was fine just had a dry throat
rookie mistake huh
Maybe but I wouldn't have met you so maybe it wasn't so bad she didn't come with me
he just looked at you smiling rolling his eyes playfully
so who did you come with
nick and matt and a couple other people
oh fun honestly im a little shocked raves don't really seem like your type of crowd
I mean I guess not but a brand sent us all here for promotions of their clothes that we have to wear every night so you know we thought why not
damn that's so cool ive dreamed of coming to this rave for years
so this is your type of thing
yeah I love raves and concert their like my happy place
yeah I get that music is one of my favorite things
yeah I don't know how life would be if music didn't exist
life would suck everyday would be dull and boring
I always like to say that music brings color to the world . I don't know if that makes sense but ... you look over at him seeing he's already staring at you . his eyes are soft and the smile on his face makes your breathe catch . he's looking at you with such love it makes you nervous.
w-what did I sound dumb
no that was just ... such a beautiful way to put it. I like the way you think
oh thank you you say as your checks flush pink from his compliment
no problem
I should probably call my friend ive been gone for a while I don't want her to freak out
yeah that's probably a good idea
you call your bestfriend
Hey are you okay you've been gone for a while
yeah im okay but um are Blaine and his friend back with you
ummm yeah why
you know how we kissed earlier
girl yeah obviously he was practically eating your face
yeah well um... he had a pill in his mouth and when we kissed he put it in mine and drugged me
WHAT THE FUCK Y/N ARE YOU OKAY NEED ME TO COME FIND YOU
no no im safe actually um I ran into someone... he helped me get it out of my system and we grabbed water and food
mmm okay why did you sound so weird when you said someone
ill give you a hint okay ummmm cc
girl wtf is this Morris code how could I ever guess what ccmeans
oh my god okay guy who ive showed you before
OH CELEBRITY CRUSH
yeah bitch Jesus I feel like that was an easy guess
no it fucking wasn't
alright whatever anyways yeah that's where I am right now
so your telling me you are sitting ... with Chris sturiolo because you casually bumped into him as you slowly started tripping
yeah pretty much that's exactly what happened
you have insane luck I swear to god
I know right what are the odds
so how are you feeling as of right now
still weird my limbs are heavy my eyes keep loosing focus and my brain feels foggy
any other feelings im just trynna figure out what it could have been that he uh you know
I don't know like what do you mean
well Molly makes you insanely horny so is that a feeling your having at all
ummm I don't think so but who knows if however much made it into my system has hit yet
I feel like you'd feel that by now so we can count that out . what about like your vision you been seeing things like weird shapes and colors
nope
fuck then idk maybe it did all get out of your system fast enough
yeah maybe hopefully that's the case
yeah lets hope so ... so im guessing you puked it up
yeah his idea of course
hes smart
I know right I would be tripping balls right now if I didn't run into him so praise the lords for him
for real but omg you threw up in front of your celebrity crush
don't remind me like how embarrassing is that and that's not even the worst part dude
how could it get more embarrassing
oh idk maybe the fact that I couldn't do it myself sooo
nooo y/n tell your joking he did not
yep sure fucking did
wow just wow
yeah not so pleasant but um im gonna finish off this food hopefully ill stop shaking soon and then ill head back to you but maybe move away from Blaine and his friend I don't want so be around him at all after what he did
oh girl I already moved the second you said he drugged you im closer to the middle now by the vip area
okay ill try my best to find you ill see you in a bit
okay just please be safe and no more kissing strangers
trust me im not planning on it
alright love you just look for the big pink bubble looking thing and im right bye that
okay big pink bubble thing got it love you bye
you hang up and look back over at chris
all good with her
yep she moved spots so that will be super fun trying to find her
don't worry ill help you im actually in the vip pink bubble thing so I know exactly where that is
oh thank god
you wanna head back to the stage or are you still shaky
im still super shaky and feeling really hot actually
really it doesn't feel that hot its cooled down a bit from earlier
really
yeah it like 48 degrees right now
shit I feel like its 100 degrees
y/n look at me
what why
just look at me
you look over at him his eyes widen as he looks at you eyes
wh-what why are you looking at me like that
your pupils are blown
fuck we didn't get it out of my system fast enough
judging by your eyes and the fact you feel hot and shaky probably not
fuck me this is bad like really bad
lets get back to your friend before it really hits and shit hits the fan
okay good idea
you both get up and start your walk back to the stage and crowd
as your walking back you start to stumble as your vision blurs
shit y/n you good
mmm y-yeah just my vision is a little blurry right now
come here he says as he pulls you closer
fuck your skin feels really hot
yeah tell me about it
he spins you around to face him .
you look up at him as his eyes move around your face with a slightly worried expression.
he moves his hands to your waist holding you tightly as you slightly started to lean back on uneven legs
you look into his eyes. Then study his facial features and the feel of his hands on your waist as your mind goes back to his fingers shoved in your mouth.
A wave of butterflies goes through your stomach as waves of heat flood your lower half.
fuck . I think it was definitely Molly .You thought as you started to feel the effects
why are you looking at me like that
like what you slur out
like you wanna eat me alive
w-what I wasn't
yes you were
im sorry I didn't mean to I just ummm I think its kicking in
what are you feeling
trust me you don't want to know
yeah I do he says as he brings his face closer to yours.
your breathing gets heavier .
lets just say .. it was definitely molly
oh ... OH uhhh well then
like I said you didn't wanna know
well at least now we know what type of trip your having .What type of asshole gives a girl Molly at a rave
I don't know but we all know what Molly does to people maybe he was trying to get me hot and bothered but that's fucked up . why give a girl drugs for that
there's definitely easier ways to get that effect that drugging a girl
Yeah like his tattoos were working well enough he could have I don’t know said things in my ear waited until the festival ended tonight and asked me to come back to his place
That is true I just don’t get guys like him
Me neither
You think your good to keep walking
Yep let’s just take it nice and slow my vision is crazy right now especially with the lights
Yeah your pupils are dilated as fuck probably making your sight super sensitive
Yeah your probability right you move to his side as he keeps an arm around your shoulder now keeping you close just incase you stumble again
Your mind wanders back to him holding your hair with his fingers down your throat as he spoke sweetly to you to let it out. Even though the actions were to help you puke your guts up . They were so dirty when you forgot about that detail .
What you thinking about he asks looking down at you smiling
Oh ummm nothing
No that pretty little mind was wandering I could tell by the smirk on your face
I wasn’t thinking was just looking ahead at the lights you try to play it off hoping he’d drop it . The last thing you want is to have to explain to him that the Molly is making your mind wander to his fingers in your mouth making you horny as a mother fucker.
Your lying to me right now
What Chris no I’m not just drop it
I’ll drop it for now but we’ll circle back later
You sigh and roll your eyes at him and you finally reach the crowd as the music is loud as ever and the lights are going crazy.
Was playing causing you to smile and look up at Chris
What you smiling for
I love this song
Yeah it’s pretty good
So where is this pink bubble bitch
Woah why are you calling me a bitch
No not you I wasn’t calling you a bitch I’m sorry
Your fine I’m only joking but it’s this way he says pulling you to the left
You start walking with him your limbs finally starting to move normally even though they still feel fuzzy.
Hey you stopped shaking and your skin isn’t as hot
Yeah but uhh all the other effects are still very much here
Mmm should I let go is that making it worse
No no your good I just gotta keep my mind on other things
Alright then he chuckles
Sorry that probably sounded weird I promise I wasn’t saying your hand on my waist was making me uh you know just uh
Your fine but you know if it was I would not be offended he says smirking down at you
Oh shut up you say smiling and playfully showing him a bit
I’m kidding he says making you look at him with a “you sure about that” expression
Okay maybe I wasn’t kidding but what were you smirking about earlier
Nope not telling you it’s gonna make this weird
Now you have to tell me that made me even more curious
Chrisss come on it’s to weird for me to say
I promise I won’t judge just tell me and we can blame it on the drugs if it’s that bad
Fuck ok fine I was… thinking about you having your fingers down my throat . You quietly said the last part from how weird it felt saying it out loud
Sorry what I couldn’t here you
I was thinking about your fingers down my throat okay there I said it . You cringed after saying it .
You look up at him as he stopped walking
I made it weird didn’t I
No you didn’t actually hate to say it but it was kinda hot even though you know the reason I did it wasn’t hot
Oh … well glad I’m not the only one
Mmm yeah come on let’s keep walking
So where are you and your friend staying
We’re staying at a house about a 10 minute walk from the gates
Wait you guys walked here he asks kinda shocked
Yeah it would have been an hour if we tried to drive or even get an Uber
Yeah I guess one luxury of being here with a brand is early access and they provide cars to take us . But how are your feet not killing you in those boots
Oh trust me they are . But I’m thuggin it out . And the drugs are making my limbs so tingly I can’t really feel my feet hurting so there’s that
Well I guess that’s one good outcome
Yeah I guess. Where are you guys staying
Oh a bigger house about 15 minutes out the neighborhood is cool . It’s got a cool fountain in the middle
Wait … a blue fountain
y-yeah
I think we’re in the same neighborhood then
What are the odds
Right crazy huh . Maybe this was fate you say laughing obviously joking
I don’t know maybe your right he says seriously
You look up at him a little dumbfounded by the sincerity in his voice
He looks down at you smiling giving you a small wink causing you to smile
Your eyes look crazy right now
Yeah I feel like I’m seeing everything through bright lenses right now
What is your friend wearing we’re getting close to the bubble maybe I can spot her
A white top with a long ish white skirt and like cool Pearl looking things all over it and her waist
Okay hum.. wait right there is that her
You follow where is hand is pointing .
Yes yeah that’s her
You both walk up to her
Hey bitch you yell as your approach her
Oh my god y/n how are you doing … oh god your eyes
Yeah yeah I know
And you must be the guy who helped her out thank you for taking care of her that’s was very kind of you
You looked at him smiling as he spoke
It was my pleasure you know she isn’t so bad
Haha funny but really Chris thank you . You were more than kind
Of course he says looking down at you smiling
your brothers are probably wandering where you are I know you should probably get back to them
oh I mean I was thinking of actually having them come to us ... unless you want me to leave
no no I wouldnt mind at all if you stayed
good cause to be honest I didn't want to
you both smiled at each other for what felt like hours but was only a minute
let me call them real quick
he calls them and tells them a small part of the story and for them to come meet up with us.
after a couple minutes you hear a couple voices coming from behind you .
you turn to see matt and nick walking up to Chris beside you
Yo Chris
Chris turns around
hey guys sorry I was gone for so long
hey it was for a good reason so its okay
facts well this is y/n and her friend ybf/n he gestures to you both
they look at you smiling you give a small wave and a smile saying hi
wow your outfits are amazing
aww thank you you look great the distressed looks on you and matt your mesh shirt is so cool
thank you they both same at the same time making you laugh a bit
so how you feeling Chris told us a bit about what happened
I feel okay I mean my eye sight is crazy right now but other than that im feeling better than before
that's good im glad you ran into Chris instead of someone else
was that a compliment orrrr
im just saying that out of all the people she could have fallen upon in her situation im glad it was you because you know we don't do drugs or drink so you were fully in your right mind unlike most people here
that is true
yeah I get what your saying
so what even happened with the guy that did this to you
uh I don't know ... ybf/n what did happen with them
oh dumb and dummer are probably still standing where I left them thinking were coming back to hang with them
damn poor guys how embarrassing for them
they can stand there all night for all I care
trust me if catch even a glimpse of the guy ill get violent
oh yeah what are you gonna do beat up a super muscular 6'5 man it came out a bit more sassy then you meant it causing matt and nick to look at you in shock and Chris to glare down at you
I-im sorry that came out more rude then I meant it
no its okay but yeah I would at least try and beat his ass
I wouldn't let you risk ruining that pretty face over him he's not worth the effort you say smiling at him
he smiles at you .
pretty face huh?

you follow him as he walks further down the road.

after about 5 more minutes chris comes back up shirtless and in sweatpants hanging dangerously low showing his black Calvins band
you cant help but stair he's so attractive . but god his broad shoulders and collar bones have you drooling . His v-line though god that makes you clench your thighs together as unholy thoughts run through your head.
you good he asks with a smirk letting out a small chuckle.
y-yeah sorry
no need to apologize sweetheart he says as he walks over to get into the bed next to you
he settles into a comfortable position as you sit awkwardly on the opposite side of the bed
he looks over at you smiling.

you smile as you scoot into him and he puts his arm around your chest rubbing your right arm softly.

nahhhh we'll be fine you say as you click play
after about 30 minutes into the movie you cuddle into chris a little more since the movie was scarier than expected. He holds you close since he's also creeped the fuck out.
it gets to a scene that is super scary causing you to hide your face in his chest as he hides his face in your hair.
after that scene was done chris looked down at you.
hey uhhh this movie is really scary can we stop watching it

you take a sip of yours then break eye contact.
wanna head back up to the room
yeah sure
he takes your hand as you walk back up the stairs back into his room.
he closes the door and you go to set your drink down on the bedside table and crawl back onto the bed.

your breathe catches and he leans into your ear .
his breathe fanning your neck making you shiver
I really wanna kiss you right now
I would be okay with that you say
he comes up from your ear and leans down kissing you .
it was a sweet but hungry kiss.
he moved his hands to your sides pulling you closer and pulling your leg over his side as he caress your thigh causing you to let out a soft moan into his mouth .
he smiles into the kiss then pulls away his face still close to yours
you tired
eh not really you say smiling
good cause im about to do so many things to you he says as he brings his mouth down to your neck .

IF YOU LIE DOWN WITH ME - JOHN FRUSCIANTE
john frusciante x reader!
warnings: VERY VERY BRIEF talk of smut, but besides that enjoy this fluff i wrote instead of working on finals <3 18+
Tumblr media
“hey, you awake?”
you groaned in response. the crowd tonight in california was louder than usual. hometown show.
you were grateful for your fans, sure, but you’ve been left with a pounding headache that was not accompanied well when you take into account the four belligerent men you happened to share the tour bus with — not to mention the beers you pounded with chad right after the gig.
it was 2am and they’d finally started to settle down until john, the guitarist and the most reserved of the four, peeked into your little crevice of the bus, tapping on the wall to get your attention.
“my head hurts.” not even a yes or no reply, just unintelligble drivel into your pillow.
you heard him laugh, inching himself closer towards you and sitting down on the side of the pull-out bed.
“well, i thought you did great tonight.”
john told you this every night. since the beginning of the tour two months ago, without fail, he’d compliment you. in the past week, you started to notice that he’d began to compliment you more and more on your outfits. your eyes. your hair.
at this point you’ve turned to face john. even in the dark, you could still make out all of the features that have made you fall in love with him — like the fucking idiot you were.
similar to how john marveled at you, you couldn’t help but admire him right back — his dark eyes, his long, curly hair, and those fingers, always battered and bruised from his guitar playing.
“well, i’m opening for the best band in the world… i do my best.” you finally replied with half lidded eyes, giving him a smile and a tired thumbs-up.
all of a sudden, he grabbed your hand. this was new. he brought it to his cheek — also new. at this point, you sat upright, letting john’s hand drape over your own as you readjusted on the bed.
“you know i was the one who suggested you for the opening act?” he admitted, letting his thumb trace over your own hand.
“are you fucking with me?” you said.
“no, god no… i think you’re incredible. i know i tell you that all the time, but i’ll keep doing it. you have such a talent. jesus christ, everything about you …”
he trailed off, looking you up and down. his eyes were dilated, the size of the fucking moon. in that moment, the mood changed.
you smiled.
“— is just fucking incredible.”
he pulled you in, throwing his arms around you and pressing your lips together.
his lips tasted like cigarettes. yours tasted like cheap beer and you wished you’d have taken an aspirin before your tourmate was grabbing your head and running his fingers through your hair. as he worked his kisses down to your neck and bare shoulders, you felt your nipples harden as his hands worked their way towards your breasts.
“johnny?” you finally said, breaking the silence between your moans.
now slowly pressing kisses atop your sensitive breasts, he looked up at you.
“mmm?”
“how long have you wanted this?”
he took your face in his hands, gently pressing a kiss to your cheek.
“your song.”
“my song?”
“the night i met you. when i saw your show at the troubador and you played that cover of your song. you on stage with that guitar — no one’s ever looked more beautiful. that passionate.”
your foreheads pressed together.
you could feel john tense up after his confession. sweat beads dripped down his face and his hands, intertwined with yours, were trembling.
“do you want this?” he finally said.
you nodded. you wanted all of him. you’ve wanted him since the two of you had met.
and now those dark eyes? that long, curly hair, and those fingers, always battered and bruised from his guitar playing? they want you too.
you pulled yourself onto his lap. nestling against his shoulder, you whispered softly in his ear.
“john frusciante, you don’t know the fucking half of it.”
he relaxed.
“i’m all in. but for now, all i want is sleep.”
respecting your sudden wish to sleep off your headache — the beers you had surely weren’t helping it— he started to get up from the bed, but you grabbed his hand.
“wait. johnny, will you lie down with me?”

hey! you know icke braun’s autobiography? i saw a post that you made about the book and that you and somebody were working on translating (the post is from like 2022) and i was wondering if you had a pdf or something of the translated version?
Yes! Icke Braun should get so much more attention from Beatles fans.
@packyourromanticmind has very kindly shared the full text that she and her mother translated (below the cut).
If you'd like to follow along the analysis of Icke and Paul's relationship that I've been working on with @ilovedig go here (we're hoping to continue the series soon).
Anyway, back to the translation:
Kathia heard from a friend that a great group was playing the Kaiserkeller in the Grosser Freiheit area . She kept going on at me that we should go see them play. When we talked about it in the Pigalle, people all pulled skeptical faces.. ‘That’s rock n’ roll that they’re playing, it’s absolutely below our level’.    And anyway, for us it was a dangerous area, but still, I was very intrigued. One could go and listen to them and then decide what we thought of the music, and so I went with Kathia.
It was a sort of wake up experience. This music meant, without exaggeration, a total change in my life. For the first time, I saw The Beatles, I was totally out of my comfort zone;    that was my music. From one moment to the next, Earl Alexander and the whole jazz scene was yesterday’s news. The Beatles brought much more dynamic energy and aggressiveness to the stage. I could feel myself bodily transmorph into the music. It wasn’t just the music that I found amazing, I also found the way that the boys presented themselves on stage - their choreography was amazing. Paul was left-handed and stood with John or George together who were right-handed and the microphone was in the middle. So they stood with their faces to the microphone but the public saw them from the side and it was a wonderful symmetry which fitted their music. At this time the band consisted of five people, Paul McCartney on bass guitar and song, John Lennon; rhythm guitar and song, George; lead guitarist and song, Stu Sutcliffe; bass,    and Pete Best on drums. In the shortest time possible, I became a fervent fan. I went to the Kaiserkeller several times. The atmosphere was rough there, sometimes even dangerous because most of the guests there were rockers. Rock n’ roll was their sole music and they had no patience with people next to them who weren’t Exis. The Beatles at that time had their own style. As I said, I don’t understand music a lot, but to my ears, there was everything in their music that later became their sound. Above all, it was rock n roll. They covered Chuck Berry, and of course the rock fans loved him. The music and the beer would flow freely,    the atmosphere could change quickly, and they would have start a fight. This was not allowed by the Kaiserkeller and its owner, (who was called Horst and was a former boxer).    For the rockers, it was a seal of honour to poke fun at the people who that didn’t fit in with them, especially their enemies, among them of course the Exis to which I belonged. The best thing was to ignore the poking altogether and take yourself to another corner. Luckily I always managed to keep away from the fights, without completely losing face.
After a few weeks, the Beatles went into the Top Ten on the Reeperbahn, where their concerts were mostly visited by people who allowed themselves greater musical freedom. So, visitors like Kathia and I weren’t in the minority anymore. We were at the Top Ten most evenings, where a certain trust situation between The Beatles and us developed. There were situations where I really regretted that I hadn’t learnt better English, otherwise I would have had many more chances to have contact with the boys. One morning after a long night in Top Ten, Kathia and I went to bed between 3 and 4am in the morning. We went to her house and fell into bed exhausted, where we spent the rest of the day in bed. In the evening around 8 or 9pm we made our way to Hamburg again, back to the Top Ten. On the way from Ahrensburg, we came past a large strawberry plantation. Because there were no people around, Katia said, let’s steal a few strawberries. The strawberries were small, red and sweet and after we had eaten enough, we said, let’s take some for The Beatles. Kathia went into a barn and came out with a big basket. We picked so many strawberries that the basket overflowed, and on the way to the car, most fell into the road. We put the basket behind my seat and drove off. At 10pm at the Top Ten, The Beatles were already in full swing, and the dance floor was thick with people. Between two sets, we took the strawberries to the stage. The other guests joked and called us the young strawberries. We could have invited the band for a round of beer or schnapps, like the sailors or rockers did, but the strawberries were something else. The Beatles were overjoyed like children, and Paul said ‘what a wonderful idea, you can do this again!’ (He said this in bad German, which he had learnt in school). The four boys started to eat and couldn’t stop. The interval became longer and longer because the basket was so full and took a long time to empty. The public began to protest, so John decided to start throwing strawberries at people, and then Paul and the others copied him. The public then threw back the squashed strawberries and it became a food fight…Luckily most of the strawberries had been eaten. Paul then came down from the stage and asked Kathia and myself if we had a musical wish. There was a song which we liked called ‘Till There Was You’ and Kathia whispered to me that we should choose this song. It was a love song and didn’t actually fit into the whole rock n’ roll genre that they normally played. Unfortunately Paul didn’t understand that this was Kathia’s music choice and thought for years that this was my favourite song . Every time that I went to the Top Ten or The Star and he saw me, he would play ‘Till There Was You, which was was quite embarrassing for me because it wasn’t my taste of music at all, and also because the rockers bombarded me with rude gestures and remarks.    Years later, when the boys were already famous, and I was allowed backstage, we were sitting in the Ernst Merck hall and George Harrison mentioned ‘Till There Was You. I told him that it was actually Kathia’s    music taste and not mine. So he understood,    but there is still footage from The Star Club where one can hear “And now we will play ‘till there was you’ for Icke”.
After the strawberry episode, we came to know The Beatles better. Sometimes we went with them to a bar. Down below in the port, there was an English speaking pub where you could get English food and be served by English waiters and we went there a few times to eat. It was called British Sailors Society. Pete Best was very rarely there, he usually stayed in the background. And also we didn’t see much of Stu Sutcliffe, he was already dating Astrid Kircherr and concentrating more on his studies in his art school, instead of the music. The best contact I had was with Paul,    not only because he was the only one who spoke German,    but to me he was the most likeable. I went with him a few times to the Raa-Wiese. At one point he wanted to sleep with a girl, a groupie who he met in the Top Ten. He didn’t want to meet in the little room that he shared with John, George and Pete, so there were very few other opportunities for inviting girls back . He asked me if he could take the girl back to mine. Although I didn’t have much space either, but I still said yes. So I invited both of them into my little beatle car; Paul sat next to me on the passenger seat, and he had the girl on his lap. Even though she was small and dainty, it was a very tight squeeze. In a convivial mood we drove along the river at 4am in the morning, reciting tongue twisters. It was my job to say ‘red lorry yellow lorry’ three times. It was very difficult with my bad English…it was even more difficult because I was laughing so much. Suddenly the girl shrieked as in front of us a car appeared. I could only steer the car to the right and we narrowly avoided a crash. However I turned the wheel too sharply and we turned around full circle and came to a stop in the middle of the street. We really had amazing luck that at this time of day, as there was very little traffic. The car that we nearly hit was a taxi , a tank-like black Mercedes. The driver was standing next to his car and shouting like a lunatic, and he was not far from starting a fight. I was in two minds whether to drive off or not, because the taxi driver was a bullish type and he wanted to lay into me. However I decided to walk over to him, and with great effort and honest regret, I persuaded him not to report us so we were able to continue our journey in peace, although the girl now had to sit behind us. That was the worst near fatal collision of my whole life. We had been laughing so much, I didn’t notice that we had somehow ended up on the other side of the road, and we were a hairs breath away from a head on crash. We were uninsured, without airbags or safety belts and it could have been curtains for all three of us and the lorry driver. One could imagine how much poorer the world would have been without Paul..    no Beatles! The band would not have made it without Paul. George might have become an electrician, John an artist and Ringo, well he wasn’t even in the picture.    No, I don’t want to imagine it. I later relayed the story to Thomas Struck,    a Hamburger underground filmmaker who went on to make a small film of our near accident .
It’s strange that there is a rumour in this context which has been going around since 1969, and that is that Paul McCartney apparently died in a car accident in 1966 and has since been impersonated by a double. This rumour became almost a conspiracy theory which the 74 year old Ringo Starr corroborated in an interview in 2015. The theory, he said, was that Billy Shears played the double for Paul. At first, everyone wanted to keep the story going, so that record companies, and concert venues and the public were spared the gruesome details of the reality, and because Shears played his role so perfectly and nobody noticed the exchange of personality, they left it at that. Even on stage, Shears played Paul perfectly . In fact, Ringo asserts, he was better than McCartney! I don’t know what was going on between him and Paul, but such differences to me seemed very hateful. Paul apparently, after this unveiling, very angrily retorted that it was the senile gossip of an old man.
I met Paul long after the supposed accident and I never had the feeling that I was talking to a double. On the contrary, in 1991, at the Hamburg premiere about their previous world tour, I visited him in the Hotel Atlantic. He was standing with his wife Linda and two men at reception and was just about to leave when he saw me. Spontaneously he came over to me and greeted me. Billy Shears couldn’t have reacted like this, because he didn’t know me. Ringo got his comeuppance for his angry diatribes later when a post on Twitter dated    2016 declared him dead. This rumour (and naturally it was nothing more), spread like wildfire over the whole internet. I am curious to see which rumour will be the next one to make the rounds.
Anyway back to reality. When we arrived in Rahlstedt, we had to drive through a little housing estate, and it was night when we arrived; the moon was shining brightly, and the little allotment houses looked like normal houses in miniature form. Paul laughter and said; ‘I’ve never seen anything like this, do dwarves live in them?’ No I said, these are garden houses , they belong to normal people and I live in one of these houses (I was joking). In Paul’s defence , he had had a few drinks, and his tolerance wasn’t very high.
My little room suddenly became quite tight for three people; Paul, his girlfriend, and myself. Paul thought that there was even less space here than the room the group shared above the Top Ten. Because I was feeling hospitable (and because I had a bad conscience about the accident), I gave him my bed, and proceeded to make myself comfortable on the floor. Sleep however, did not come to mind, because the girl tried repeatedly to charm Paul and to pull him into her arms. Instead, he lay with his head supported by the headboard and told us stories about how he and his friends spent their nights in Hamburg. He was talking about himself, John , George and Pete Best. Stu Sutcliffe was better off because he lived with his girlfriend Astrid Kircherr . For the first time I discovered that the four Beatles lived together in a room above the Top Ten with only a little skylight, and that was only a small improvement to the hellhole their previous boss, Bruno Koschmider had put them in when they first arrived in Hamburg. They were still with Stu at that point, so it was five of them in total.    Bruno, who owned the Bambi Kino, vacated a room for them that previously housed the film reels. It was small, unheated, had no window and in comparison to their current abode, it didn’t even have a skylight. To sleep, they had to lie on straw sacks on the floor. The only positive, Paul said, was that this room was directly behind the cinema screen and the boys were able to listen to the dialogue and music of the films that played from 4pm in the afternoon. The room was lit with one tiny bare lightbulb which hung from the ceiling, and there wasn’t even a wash basin in the room. To wash themselves, they had to go to the mens toilets in the cellar. That’s where they got know Tante Rosa, the toilet attendant. Paul was charmed by her, she washed all their sweat soaked clothes, otherwise, they would have had nothing to wear. Without Tante Rosa, they would have long ago been buried in their own dirt. He also told us of the first time they went on stage at the Indra, a strip tease joint, which was also owned by Bruno. Because it was such a bad joint, the Beatles had to share billing with the strip tease dancers. For two months they had to endure this crap, because their previous manager, Alan Williams had told them that they would be appearing in a huge nightclub, (which actually turned out to be the Kaiserkeller). Unfortunately, Derry And The Seniors were appearing there, who were of the opinion that The Beatles had nothing to offer in Hamburg, and they would bring the place into ill repute with their English rock n’ roll. However it wasn’t long before The Beatles were allowed to appear, because the Senior’s contract had expired. However, their living situation didn’t change.
Paul couldn’t stop telling these stories, and I felt very privileged and honoured that he trusted me to share so much. In the meantime, the girl had long since fallen asleep and was snoring loudly, whereas we two talked deep into the night, and our conversation didn’t find an end. Very late in the night, just as it got light outside, Paul suddenly stopped speaking mid-sentence, fell asleep and began snoring louder than the girl. I tried to find myself a bearable place on the floor, but I couldn’t fall sleep for a long time because of the snoring.
I never got to know Bruno Koschmider but after Pauls stories, I’m assuming he must have been a dreadful man. Small, hunched and constantly with a miserable face.. strangely, in World War Two, apparently he performed as a clown, although he never made us laugh. This is the story that Pete Best told us anyway; that ‘he was never a clown and he never made us laugh’. In some strange way however, he had came into the money and was able to buy the Indra, the Kaiserkeller, and the Bambi-Kino cinema . His only merits was he was the first one to bring a British sound to Hamburg; he had started with Tony Sheridan, then came Derry And The Seniors, Rory Storm and The Hurricanes and finally, the Beatles. On the other hand, one could say that he misused these young people shamefully. For instance, The Beatles had to sign an agreement that for 30 marks per person, they had to play four hours a night from Monday - Friday,    and on Saturday they had to play for six hours.    Bruno even took money during their intervals.    When they moved above the Top Ten and were earning 5 marks more a day, they had to play for longer. But even so, they thought it was a move in the right direction, because they got on better with their new boss, Pete Eckhorn. Bruno threw it in their faces that they ‘deserted’ him. Then he became nasty and threw all sorts of accusations at them. First of all, because George Harrison was underage, he reported him for this. Then he reported Paul and Pete, accusing them of trying to burn down his cinema. In reality, they had only left their old boss two used condoms as a farewell present . In the end, it was only John who stayed behind in Hamburg, however he became very lonely without his friends and later returned of his own free will back to the U.K. So the story of The Beatles in Hamburg could have come to an end without much ado . But as luck would have it, they had signed a contract with Eckhorn, which means they could travel back to Germany very soon.
I once had Paul, John and George stay with me at my home in the Raawiese. My landlords weren’t home, only their 12 year old son who hung around us, and their Chinese Nightingale, who were heard singing in the background. We made a small fire in the garden and started to empty a bottle of whisky that we had bought with us. The little boy showed us a mass of twigs which were waiting to be burned, the wood was a little fresh and it was hard to light. After a short while, we had a little campfire, although the smoke got into all our eyes!    Perhaps it was the whiskey talking, or our sporting aspirations , but we decided to start jumping over the fire. After every jump we were allowed to take a slug of whiskey. Even the young boy dared to join in. When John made a misjudged jump and nearly landed in the fire and burnt his trousers, we stopped playing. He complained his only lederhosen was now kaput, although they didn’t seem damaged to me.    In the meantime, the whiskey flask was nearly empty and we were all quite drunk. It was late and the three wanted to get home to rest before their next performance. With my drunken head on, I told them I could drive them, but John wanted to borrow my beatle car instead. The fact that he had no driving license, and probably couldn’t drive anyway, didn’t matter to him. Unfortunately it mattered to me, so instead of driving my taking the car, I took them to the bus stop. It was really hard for us to walk even the few hundred meters with our wobbly legs. If we had driven there definitely would have been another accident!
When I returned to the Raawiese, the little boy came to me in great distress and told me that the nightingale was dead. ‘Which nightingale?’ I mumbled. I let myself be taken to the house where the birdcage hung. Then I saw the problem…The nightingale lay on his back with rolled up feet and he wasn’t moving. Even when I gently nudged him, I couldn’t bring him back to life. Perhaps our campfire had killed him. I actually thought to myself, when the landlords find out about this, I will be out on the street. So I told the boy that our adventures with the fire had to be kept a secret from his parents. He agreed, and we threw some water onto the campfire and moved everything away that was still lying around from the garden party. I was hoping the neighbours were away, and wouldn’t tell on us. Anyway, my fears were ungrounded, because although the landlords were sad about the death of my bird, they never asked any questions. Obviously the little boy stayed true to his word. I met him recently after a visit to the Kleingartensiedlung.    He still lived in the little old house. In the meantime, he had renovated and extended, but otherwise it looked exactly like it did in bygone days. He told me proudly that he tells our story to the people on his estate, and they fall about in surprise when he says that The Beatles once came to his house and jumped over their camp fire.
From April 3rd 1962, The Beatles played in the Star Club. Kathia and I had a sort of place of honour in the upper circle which was always reserved for us. We never paid any entrance fee and we always had a great view. Although since then, I’ve had another girlfriend - we still sat together in the same box. On the box in front of us was Astrid Kirchherr, Klaus Vormann and Jurgen Vollmer. There were the first guard of Beatles friends, and we belonged to the second. The great thing about our box was that we were allowed to use it even when other musicians appeared in the star club . In those days, these were the prominent people in the rock n’ roll scene of the time; Chuck Berry, Little Richard, Jerry Lee Lewis.    For all these visits, we didn’t have to pay a penny, except for Ray Charles, who we once saw in the Star Club; that cost me 20 Marks.
Next to the Star Club, there was a place called Zer Holle. This was where I often sat with The Beatles, but also with other bands, such as Gerry And The Pacemakers. There was sometimes a woman joining us called Mary Brown, who was the leader of the Beatles fan club. I was once here with Mary, Paul McCartney, Gerry and a few others. Gerry went on at me that I should become his fan too. He spoke nonstop and he kept repeating the same sentence. “Icke, you should become MY fan”. At the beginning I felt very honoured and flattered, but after a while he got on my nerves . I ordered him a beer and although he was already fairly merry, he toasted me and said, “now I’m becoming an honorary Beatles fan”. I asked Mary to show me my fan passport which she showed me immediately. I was member number 62. Until the late 60s, Mary Brown sent every member of the fan club a vinyl recording of music and best wishes from The Beatles. As an honorary member, I also had to pay very little for the beer. Once, a waiter who was new to the Star Club, asked me for 1.50 Marks and I didn’t have any change, so I gave him a 20 Mark note . He said to me, ‘when I’ve got the change i’ll come back to you’. I tried to attract his attention when he passed by my seat, but he looked at me like he didn’t recognise me. He insisted that I’d only given 1.50 and I became very stubborn and started arguing, and he threatened to throw me out. At that moment Horst Fascher walked past. I didn’t know him very well but he knew me. I told him I’d given the waiter 50 marks    but he hadn’t given me any change. One moment said Horst. The waiter was a head higher than the owner but he knew what was coming. Horst grabbed him by his arm , turned him away from me and said a word I didn’t understand . Then he waited until the the waiter opened his pocket book and gave me 48.50 as change. Normally I’m an honest person, but when I’m being swindled, the war-child in me comes through, who has learnt to insist and get tough, even if it’s at the cost of other people. I didn’t have a bad conscience because of what I had done. First, I did to him what he did to me, and second, on his evening round, he had probably done the same to the rest of his evening guests.
Horst was the eldest of three brothers. They were all small men under 1m 70, but they were feared fighters. He was the first one to have the idea to bring English rock music to Germany. In 1959 he appeared as a lightweight fighter in a match in London. That evening after the fight, he partied through Soho and landed in a club where rock n’ roll bands were playing live.    The German version of this music was also playing at the moment in the Kaiserkeller, but this was a different format. The singer was Tony Sheridan. His appearance was as strong and authentic as Bill Haley or Elvis Presley, who one only knew through Hollywood films. Horst was amazed. Back in Hamburg, he told Bruno Koschmider of his discovery. Bruno flew instantly to London and engaged Tony for his Kaiserkeller . Horst was the second string to his fiddle; he was later responsible for bringing the Beatles from the Kaiserkeller into Peter Eckhorn’s Top Ten, and then to Manfred Weissleder in the Star Club. Both his brothers were waiters in the Star Club but otherwise they didn’t really play a large role. Freddie, on the other hand, who was the youngest brother, became my protector. I was only a little player, and the impression was sometimes that people could push me around. But if I became cross with somebody and Freddie noticed, he would come between us . He was little, and his opponents were mostly bigger so he would grab them by the shirt, pull them down to his level and give them a headbutt, then there was peace.
With his brother Horst, I once had a special adventure. At Christmas of ’62 I had made The Beatles a special Christmas plate (as I had done the year before), where amongst other things I always distributed were bags of Liptons tea. That was a trademark - it was meant to be a quirky reminder of home. I also placed candles on the plates, and I wanted to bring all of this onto the stage, but Horst told me off and said, ‘you can’t do this with lit candles on stage - its much too dangerous…What were you thinking? Give them to me!’    So he dimmed the lighting in the room and took the coloured plates with the lit candles to the stage. The Beatles were already throwing tea bags and biscuits at each other, and Paul took the microphone and said, ‘Icke, you are so considerate’. Because of the teabags, they recognised the plates were my invention, even though Horst had taken them to the stage. The hardened rockers in the audience thought it was a bit feminine and misplaced that I should give such Christmas presents for them. But for me, every appearance The Beatles made was a present that was bigger than I ever could have given them back. Every time I listened to them, an intense feeling of happiness flowed through me . In them, I could forget everything around me. I never experienced such a total immersion in any other rock band who appeared at the Star Club. Perhaps there was something feminine about it , but I didn’t care.
Something feminine was at play the first time I met John. I sat with him and the rest of the band at The Star Club at the end of the night after their gig. The bar was the shape of a large oval on which one side John sat with George and a few other guests, whereas Paul and I were about five meters away on the other side. We chatted about who was our favourite author.    Naturally the guys only knew English or American authors, that was clear. Who mentioned who I’m not so sure. One said Lewis Caroll, another said Dylan Thomas. I had recently seen the play Under Milk Wood by Dylan Thomas, otherwise I knew nothing of him. ‘And you Icke?’ Asked Paul..    ‘who is your favourite author?’. ‘Henry Miller, I find him really great’, I replied.    At the same moment, John glanced over to me. Up until then, he had been watching - with his usual slightly bored expression, Bettina the bar lady as she washed up glasses and cleared up the bar. Our conversation didn’t seem to interest him enormously. Now he looked at me directly in the eyes. Silently and without taking his eyes off me, he came around the whole length of the bar, kissed me on the mouth and walked back to his place. At first I was very surprised and didn’t know what to do about this. Then I found it slightly amusing and didn’t think any more of it . A few days later, it happened again. I met him on the walkway behind the stage and again he took my hand and kissed me. That made me actually think about the fact.. ‘Oh my God, am I gay?, because I don’t know if I can do this’. But what was really behind this, I don’t know, and never knew. Maybe the kisses were a sort of overture? Because amongst homosexuals, he was known as a Klemm-schwuler (‘camp gay’ /closet case).    I have no idea.    In any case, I saw his girlfriend Cynthia, who visited him in 1961 and who he married a year later. Quite apart from that, he was often seen in the company of girls a lot.
On the 10th April, 1962, the fifth Beatle, Stu Sutcliffe died of a brain tumour. It was the same day that his band colleagues, (apart from George), landed at Hamburg airport a few days later to appear at the Star Club. I had very little contact with Stuart, because he left the band a year before I knew them to concentrate on his studies at the art school. Amongst his friends, his death was a huge shock. Especially hard hit was John, who was at art school in Liverpool with him and was close friends. For days he ran around like a corpse through the city, until he found himself again.
In the first half of Nov 1962, when The Beatles appeared at the Star Club again, the drummer was Ringo Starr and not Pete Best. I couldn’t get used to it at first. Even though I had very little personal contact with Pete, I felt that an important part of the brilliant ensemble had been lost. After a while, I became used to Ringo and strangely, the music became somehow rounder, and in any case, not as loud as before. Perhaps I’m just imagining it, as I’ve said, I’m not the greatest music expert. My impression was that Pete always drummed like a madman, whereas Ringo fitted in with the music. What Paul had said to me was that it was Brian Epstein who replaced Pete. It was already then very obvious the enormous influence this man had on the group. From the beginning of November, he monitored their performances and they appeared in a new, specially made outfits which they had overlooked so far in their Hamburg performances. Now they were in preppy clothes. And accordingly, they behaved themselves on stage. No more mucking around and no insults. It was only when Epstein left Hamburg on Nov 10th, they were able to go back to their old style of performance. Already on the Sunday evening, just a few hours after they had taken their manager to the airport, they were wearing their old leather rags and dancing on the stage as normal. John as usual, offended the whole audience by insulting them.
The Beatles last performances at the Star was Dec 18 -31st, 1962 . On New Years day, they were due to go back to England. I took Paul in my little beatle car to the airport, where he met with the others. Then the announcement came that the flight to London was delayed by four hours. Wonderful I thought, I have more time to hang out with them. It was in these last hours that I could talk to them all on the same level; because what happened in the next few months in England, at the crazy speed it developed, none of us, the Beatles or the fans could have imagined. The next time I saw them, they were absolute world stars and they lived in a different world. That time in the airport bar we were still thinking that in a few months, they would be appearing at the Star Club again . They were in good spirits, and not just because of the previous night where we had celebrated all night, and drunk a lot of alcohol.    It was more because they were heading off on small tour in Scotland, which was due to take place the next day beginning in Keith. But most importantly, they were beginning a tour with Helen Shapiro, where they would appear as one of the six warm up acts. Helen was 16 years old, so a few years younger than The Beatles, but much more famous and much more savvy than the boys. Musically they didn’t think much of her, but her fame was hard to discredit. It was going to be their first professional tour. Us Hamburger fans followed their journey via newspapers and the radio, how they were celebrated by the public, and soon Helen Shapiro was displaced. This tour lasted a month from February to March 1963, and catapulted The Beatles into the heavies of rock music. Together with Tommy Roe and Chris Montez-Tournee, they had broken through. Brigitte Janner, who was my girlfriend at the time, kept me up to date with how famous the band were becoming and the welcome they received whenever they appeared .
It was three and a half years later that I saw them again. A teen magazine called Bravo had organised a lightening tour through Germany with them, and three weeks before had started creating an advertising frenzy . Even the people from Der Bild and Bravo stood outside my house and wanted to interview me. I said they could interview me if they could get me into the Beatles press conference . They didn’t want to do that, perhaps they couldn’t do it. In any case I didn’t give them an interview. The next day in Der Bild newspaper, there was a big article entitled ‘Icke And The Beatles’. There was a photo of me with wide open eyes, which somebody had shot the moment I had opened my door for them. It was not exactly a good image of me and I would have stopped the publication of it had I known. Also in this article, there were loads of made up stories . These stories started circulating at my work which made me uncomfortable, not least because my colleagues were gossiping about me. After all, I was head of the department, and I didn’t want to be compromised.    There were newspaper articles in Der Bild and Bravo about me in Reinhold & Mahla (my workplace) which was uncomfortable for me, because it meant my colleagues had ratted on me.
The tour was booked from the 24th - 26th June; three days in three cities. Through the press photographer, Peter Bruchmann, I found out the Beatles would be arriving at 5 30 am on a special train at the Ahrensburg station, so I got up at 4 in the morning not to miss this moment. As the train approached, I stood very close to the edge of the platform. A mass of journalists, fans and other commuters also stood on the platform. It was terribly noisy and nobody could understand a word anyone was saying. Luckily, I found a favourable place on the platform - facing the wagon in which the Beatles were basically stood right outside my nose. I saw the guys standing at the window and Paul saw me too. He moved his lips as though he wanted to say something to me, and pointed to the front where they were going to disembark. Unfortunately this was about 10 meters deep with people who were all trying to see the band. I tried with all my might to push through but I was still stuck in the middle. It was just impossible to get through. The Beatles had already disembarked. They were corralled straight away by the bodyguards who had freed a walkway through the crowd. However, Paul managed to turn around, he called to me, ‘We’ll see you later!’, and then they ran at speed through the walkway, out to where the cars were standing, surrounded by journalists and fans who were waiting for them. They were taken with a police escort to the Castle Tremsbuttel, where they were staying the night.
The whole thing happened so quickly that on the way home, I thought it had been a dream. On the way back in the car, I asked myself, what did Paul mean when he called out to me? How should I approach him, how was it going to work that we would see each other when the instructions had been so vague. The two concerts were scheduled for 3pm - 4.45pm and then 7pm - 8 45 pm. In between both concerts there were press conferences being held, to which unfortunately I wasn’t invited. I managed to get a ticket for the second concert, but I still hung around for three hours with the other fans in the hall. Suddenly on the loudspeaker I heard my name. ‘Icke Braun is asked to come to the desk’. I thought to myself, what do I need to come to the desk for? but I went anyway. A man was standing there who I had met before - he was from the newspaper, Der Bild. He told me that Paul McCartney wanted to speak to me, then turned around and went into the conference room and I followed him. Already outside I could hear John Lennon’s voice and as the door opened, I saw him joking with the journalists. As everyone was only speaking English, I didn’t understand much of it. The Beatles were sitting on a podium together with a man I didn’t know. Later I discovered that that was Neil Aspinall who was the personal assistant to the Beatles. George saw me and waved me to his side. I went a bit nearer to the stage but kept my distance. Why should I stand around on the stage looking stupid when I had nothing to say? So I stayed where I was and waited until the end of the conference until I said hello to the guys. A few journalists then left the room but most stayed. When the Beatles came down from the stage, George asked me ‘how are you and what are you doing with yourself’? I said, ‘yes I’m good, I’m now married!’, John heard that and called, “Where’s your wife, let’s see your wife!” and Neil said to me; the Beatles wishes must be obeyed! So I called Evelyn and told her the Beatles wanted to meet her. She was able to come straight away because we had talked about something like this happening. We withdrew into a little room, and suddenly I saw that there was Kathia and Bettina from the the Star Club. I must have overlooked them amongst all the chaos. When Evelyn appeared, she was the first to be introduced to the Beatles. Everything revolved around her and as they were all speaking in English, I stood by looking stupid, so I took the chance to go to the toilet. in order to do that, I had to go through the hustle of journalists who were waiting to grab one of the Beatles. When I came back from the toilet, they were begging me to take them back into the conference room. One said, if you take me with you, I will give you 1000 Marks.    When I got back to the Beatles, I asked if I could bring a few people in to meet them, but John and the others were emphatic; no way, we want this to be just us. Bettina took a few photos out of her bag, which showed the Beatles in the Top Ten and    the Star Club. The boys were delighted and told her that they would like to have the photos. I told them that the photographer who took them was standing outside the door. ‘Fetch him in, fetch him!’ said John excitedly. The photographer was called Peter Bruchmann, and was absolutely delighted to be the only journalist to be allowed into the conference room. It was he who had given me the tip that the band would be alighting off the train at Ahrensburg . I knew him from the time when the Beatles played at the Top Ten. At that point he hadn’t heard anything about them, and I had to persuade him to come and see them and take a few photos. These became the most famous photos he had ever taken.
A few years ago, we spoke and he told me that his career never got better than these early days. Sadly in 2014 he died. The last photo that he ever took of The Beatles in Germany, he took at the Ernst-Merck-Halle concert venue. The other people in the picture were Bettina, Kathia, Evelyn and i. Unfortunately he couldn’t supply photos from their Hamburg time to the boys at this moment, but he promised them he would send them on if they gave him a forwarding address, however, in the general melee this conversation sadly got forgotten.
All together we stayed for two hours and told each other what we had been up to in our lives. Amongst other things, I asked if they and The Rolling Stones were enemies like the German press insisted. They said that was total nonsense; they were very friendly with them. Then we went into the dining room where we ate fillet steak with lots of onions. Ringo pushed the onions fussily to the side of his plate, and said ‘the whole world knows that I don’t eat onions apart from Hamburg evidently’. During the second concert, we sat int the first row in reserved places, so I could have said myself 20 Mark fee! The Beatles only played half an hour because they wanted to introduce some Hamburg band which included The Rattles. A few of these bands ended up being a bit disappointed because they were just pushed to the side and their music was hardly listened to. Unfortunately, I as an audience member, could understand because everyone had came to see the Beatles, not the Hamburg side acts. Paul told me before the band went onstage that we would see him afterwards, however they disappeared from the stage straight away; while the public was still clapping and calling for more, they were already in their cars. That was the only way to take them from their fans in safety. This was the only contact that my wife Evelyn had with the Beatles.
I myself had two more opportunities to meet Paul McCartney. The first time was in Scotland in 1988. I had long been married to Uta and she was pregnant with our first child. The car we had brought along was a Renault, a fairly long car, where we were transporting a canoe which wouldn’t fold, so it didn’t look very elegant. We had came to a town called Campbelltown, to meet our friend Mary who we had worked with at Amnesty international in Jagerberg . Mary remembered visiting us and seeing a picture of Paul, and told us that her mother had worked for him, at his estate which was not far from here. I said to Uta; ‘come on, let’s go and drive to see him’. But she did not want to go, so therefore I drove there alone. On the way, I had a rethink about what I was actually doing. The estate was guaranteed to be a tourist attraction for journalists and fans, so Paul would likely always have bodyguards on duty. If I were to arrive in my completely filthy Renault with a monster of a canoe on the roof, I wouldn’t stand a chance to get past the bodyguards. They would think that a lousy jerk was coming, who has no reason to be here. That I was once a friend of the famous Paul McCartney, they simply wouldn’t believe. The estate was quite a way away, but I stopped the car and really thought this through - should I carry on with this adventure, or would it be best to simply turn around and just go home. The humiliation that I could be turned around and sent away… I would never get over . For a while I fought with this, backward and forward, then I turned the car around and drove back at a snails pace.
So the last opportunity where I met Paul was in 1991 at the world premiere of Get Back, directed by Richard Lester. After the press conference, I met him and his wife Linda in a room at the back of the cinema. In the room with me was Astrid Kircherr, Ulf Kruger and Achim Reichel and his wife, who had won a place at this this meeting in a competition. During our chat, I mentioned my adventure in Scotland. Even though it was embarrassing to talk about this in front of people, I told Paul that I had planned to visit him, and that I was fearful of the consequences, didn’t trust my courage enough and therefore turned around. He said, “Oh for Gods sake Icke, that’s such a shame. It    would have been wonderful if you had actually visited me”. It sounded like he really meant it. I’m still angry at myself over this, sometimes I’m too much of a doofus for this world.

Chapter 8
Harry: hey Harry: in case you haven’t blocked me yet…i’m sorry for everything, i know i screwed everything up Harry: you going to the party later? Harry: was wondering if we could talk Harry: promise i’ll behave
You put your phone back inside your purse, not quite knowing how to react to Harry’s texts. For the past few weeks, you grew accustomed to hating him. A version of him, at least. The one who cheated and humiliated you, who sent a video of himself hooking up with a girl. You sighed. It hadn’t always been like that. There were good times. Great even, when he let his gentleness surpass his frustration with the world and everyone in it, including you. Reading his texts made you sad for these other parts of your relationship, the ones you hadn’t let go of enough to mourn yet.
You were in a corner of the living room, lost in your thoughts, while Jess was chatting with a teammate of hers nearby. At the improvised stage on the other end of the room, Gwen and her friends were tuning their instruments. People were coming inside to see the band play.
Gwen looked fantastic. With help from you and Jess, she settled for a black top with a pink skull drawn in it, black skirt, fishnet tights, a pair of white boots and, of course, Jenna’s purple jacket. Gwen took a sip of her beer and looking beyond you in the crowd, opened a smile. You looked in the same direction, finding Miles, Peter and Miguel. You waved at them.
“Look what the cat dragged in!”, you joked.
“And here I was thinking we’re becoming good friends, even hanging outside of school property!”, Peter put a hand on his chest, pretending to be hurt.
“Did you guys start drinking before coming here or…?”
“No, this is sober Peter”, Miguel looked at his friend with a serious expression.
“Oh”, you couldn’t imagine what drunk Peter was like.
“Oh indeed.”
“You’re only saying that because you are sad drunk”, Peter complained.
“Am not.”
“Yes, you are. Isn’t it right, Miles?”
Miles was distracted, staring at Gwen.
“Yeah, sure”, he said.
Miguel groaned, making you laugh. He looked at you arching an eyebrow.
“Are you having fun with this, cariño?”
“Of course, watching you and Peter bicker like an old couple is very entertaining. Why else do you think I hang out with you guys so much?”
“Because Miguel needs help with his english homework and you think he’s hot”, Peter shrugged.
Your eyes widened. How dare he call you out like that. But also…
“Wait, is that what you told your friends we are doing?”, you turned to Miguel.
“I mean, I do need help with my english homework…That much is true”, Miguel gave you a smug look, not ashamed at all. You, on the other hand, felt your cheeks start burning. “About that other part…you have to confirm to me.”
“Confirm what?”, you played dumb to gain time, not knowing how the situation escalated so quickly. It was like you and Miguel couldn’t even talk anymore, only flirt.
“I guess you know, since you are all worked up about it.”
“I’m not worked up about anything.”
“I’d say you are, actually”, Peter intervened. He and Miguel fist bumped without looking at each other.
“And just like that, you two are working together again.”
“We never stopped working together”, Peter said. “Bros before…”, he stopped seeing your harsh look towards him.
“Oh, don’t stop because of me. Do go on”, you faked a smile.
“We’re bros”, Peter said, looking at Miguel, who was cringing.
“Ugh, yes, hermanos”, Miguel mumbled, pinching his nose.
“Boys are so weird.”
“Hey! You didn’t answer the question”, Peter pointed at you.
“What question?”, you asked innocently.
“You know damn well…”
“I have no idea, Peter Benjamin.”
“You sneaky little thing”, Miguel pursed his lips. “All this effort just to not admit…”
“That I think you are hot?”
“Well, yes…”, Miguel looked dumb founded.
“Fuck this, I’m so confused. I’m gonna get a beer”, Peter walked away.
Miguel got closer to you.
“Does it bother you that much not knowing what I think?, you barely recognized yourself or this game you were playing. But the thrill of it was one of the best things you have ever felt.
“Just admit it”, Miguel looked down on you, his hands finding your waist.
“How about this: I will answer your question if you answer one of mine.”
You could see him swallowing hard.
“Fine.”
“Why did you agree to pretend to be my boyfriend?”
“I needed a tutor…”
“You could’ve found any other tutor. But you accepted my offer.” You caught yourself wondering this more often than you’d like to admit. You had a reason to ask him, at least you thought so, but didn’t quite understand why he accepted so easily. It’s not like you two were friends, you knew each other for years, sure, but have never been friends. When you stopped to think about it, you didn’t know that much about Miguel.
“You don’t have to answer anymore”, he whispered.
You felt way more disappointed than you imagined you would be. As if pleading, you put your hands on his shirt, grasping it a little.
“But I have other questions. I wanna get to know you.”
“Do you?”, he looked surprised.
You nodded, refusing to break eye contact with him. He put a hand on your cheek, holding your face while he analyzed it. First your nose, then your cheeks. Your chin and even your ears. Miguel spent more time looking at your lips, his own mouth parted. His gaze eventually met yours, and you could tell there was so much there. There was no way you had imagined all the spark you saw in his eyes.
“I want to get to know you too.”
“Test one, two, three.”
You both turned to the stage, where a girl with beautiful beaded braids — Margo, you were pretty sure was her name — adjusted the microphone.
“Hi, everyone!”
Everyone cheered. Margo’s smile widened. On her right side, a girl held a guitar, on the other, a girl held a bass. Behind them, your very own Gwen Stacy smiled nervously on the drums. You felt like a proud mom, knowing how brave Gwen was being and how much she was overcoming by stepping into that stage.
“We’re the Mary Janes and we’re about to have some fun. Are you ready?”, Margo shouted. Gwen put her drumsticks in the air, knocking them three times. The first notes of “Only Happy When It Rains”, by Garbage, found your ears.
You knew the song from your favorite 90s teen comedies. You turn to tell Miguel that only to find him singing all the lyrics perfectly. His head shaking in the rhythm of the music, one of his hands still on your waist.
How could he question if you thought he was hot or not. There was so much to like: his soft olive skin, his deep eyes, his black curls that bounce with every inch of movement from him. You even liked his nose, which was new to you, because you didn’t usually think about guys' noses whatsoever. Miguel noticed you stare.
“What?”, he mouthed.
You shook your head, smiling at him.
“I like late 80s, early 90s pop rock”, Miguel said in your ear.
“I would have never guessed.” You really wouldn’t, but it was endearing to see him letting loose and having fun. Just being his true self.
The next song started with a distant sounding bell. Behind you, shouted: “Fuck yeah!!”
You laughed. “I guess you know the song?”
“Hazy Shade of Winter, by The Bangles, it’s great. You’re gonna love it!”
He was right. You did.
***
Jess found you after the concert, a huge smile on her face, that was just as sweaty as yours.
“How great was our girl?!”
“She was fantastic! I don’t know what I was expecting…were they always this good?”, you ask Miguel.
“Yeah, but they have improved a lot since the last concert I have watched. All the extra practicing is paying off.”
Jess raised an eyebrow at him, amused.
“Apparently Miguel here is a huge fan of female led 80s and 90s bands”, you pointed out, your growing smile mirroring hers.
“You are not gonna let that go, are you?”, Miguel pretended to be annoyed.
“I kind of love that for you, Miguel”, Jess said with sincerity. “The less toxic masculinity around my girl, the better.”
Miguel blushed, avoiding her gaze. Knowing Jess saw good in him made you feel better, happier even, for some reason.
“Here comes the rockstar!”, Miguel pointed at Gwen, who was running towards your group. Her hair was now in a ponytail, the jacket tied around her hips. She had the biggest smile on her face.
She gave each one of you a hug.
“You were incredible, blondie!”, Jess looked at her proudly.
“You really were, this was by far the best setlist you’ve had so far”, Miguel gave his friend a brotherly hug, making her laugh.
“Look at you, Gwenny!”, you put your hands on her flushed cheeks. “I loved seeing you up there. How are you feeling?”
She chuckled, her eyes catching up to her smile.
“Sweaty, relieved and in desperate need for a drink.”
“Let’s arrange that”, Jess grabbed her hand, the two walking towards the kitchen.
“Wanna go outside for a bit? I’m boiling here”, Miguel started making his way to the backyard and you followed.
It was much nicer outside. There was a little breeze and it was much quieter than inside. A few people were seated on the edge of a huge empty pool, talking and drinking. Others were scattered through the gardens. You and Miguel sat on a two person gray couch on the porch.
The two of you stayed in silence for a while, watching people run around and talk. You recognized a guy making girls laugh close to the pool.
“Isn’t that Ben O’Reilly?”, you turn to Miguel. Ben was a senior guy from your school who was involved with every single sport available for students. He could be extra and a bit of a show off, something that made Harry exceedingly annoyed, but you thought he was just funny and cheesy.
“Oh yeah”, Miguel looked at Ben’s direction. “I’m surprised he hasn’t brought his acoustic guitar with him.”
“What?”
“You know how every party has a guy that wants to impress people playing guitar? That’s O’Reilly.”
“Oh my God, I know exactly what you mean”, you laughed.
“Hey, girl, have you ever heard Wonderwall, by Oasis?”, Miguel forced a smooth pretentious voice.
“It’s either that or Mr. Brightside.”
Miguel cackled.
“Speaking of…”, he turned to you. You now know about my music preferences, which makes it my turn to ask you a question.”
“Okay”, you looked back at him, feeling a little shy. You had no idea what type of question he had in mind.
“Do you have a favorite color?”
Not what you were expecting.
“Orange”, you said. “My turn. Do you have a best friend in your group? Or do you consider all of them equally?”
He seems to think about it for a minute.
“I mean, we are all friends…”, he considered. “But I guess if I had to vent or ask for help, I’d probably reach out to Peter. Don’t tell him that.”
“And listen to him getting all smug about it? Never”, your tone makes Miguel laugh. The sound makes you feel warm inside. “Still, Peter is so much better than the guys you used to hang out with in middle school. No offense.”
“None taken”, Miguel stares at his hands in silence. His reaction made you feel bad, even though you were being sincere.
“I mean, it’s not like I knew then…”, you tried to mend it. “I guess we are all kind of stupid during middle school, right?”
“You weren’t.”
The intensity in his eyes caught you by surprise. You didn’t know what to say to that, just that you shouldn’t have brought up that period of your lives up.
“Well, I definitely felt like it”, you let out a sad chuckle. “Your turn, come on.”
“Okay. What…”
“Miggy Miggy Miggy!”, Peter shouted from the door that led the kitchen to the backyard. He had a beer in his hands and a maniac look in his eyes.
“So I gather this is drunk Peter…”
“Yep, it’s him alright”, Miguel sounded annoyed.
Hobie held Peter by the elbow, looking distressed, which you didn’t think it was an emotion he could even feel.
“What happened?”, Miguel got up.
“We have a code red, Miguelito”, Hobie took a deep breath. He then saw you and gave a soft smile: “Hi, there, sweetheart, you look really lovely tonight”.
“You too, Hobie”, you waved at him.
“I swear if Miguel here wasn’t obsessed with you…”
“Hobart!”, Miguel interrupted, growling. “Focus on the task at hand.”
Peter gave Hobie a sad look, grabbing his arm.
“Love isn’t real, my friend”, and just like that, Peter started crying.
“What is happening?”, you whisper to Miguel.
“Mary Jane!”, Peter shouted, prompting Miguel and Hobie to move in order to take him out of there.
“Oh, code red as in…”, you just then realized. It was kind of a smart name, actually. You knew Peter had a thing for Mary Jane, but had no idea it was so intense. He was always so nice and flirty with everyone, you just assumed it was the same with her.
“MJ Watson!”, Peter sobbed.
“Ay Dios mío! Hobs, let’s get him out of here”, Miguel put one of Peter’s arms around his neck. “I’ll be right back”, he said, looking back at you.
***
After a few minutes, you decide to go back inside and find Jess and Gwen. Before that though, you needed a drink.
The kitchen was a complete mess. Empty bottles and forgotten cups of beer and other mixtures on the counters and the floor was sticky. You felt bad for the owner of the house, even though you had no idea who they were. There were a few bottles of soda and juice around, mostly to be used in cocktails, but you refused to drink from an already opened container — you've heard way too many high school parties horror stories.
Opening the fridge, you found a can of beer. You didn’t particularly care about alcohol now. You used to drink more before to be able to handle school parties your mom insisted you go after your teachers had a talk with her about your difficulty socializing. You had never done anything stupid, but there was the eighth grade school dance, where you drank a bit too much “poisoned punch”. It had been a fun night, from what you remembered. What you didn’t remember was the issue: some conversations and moves on the dance floor. So you just avoided drinking, if you could.
“There you are.”
You stop mid sip, suddenly happy Miguel was back. When you turned, however, you found Harry’s face looking at you. He had his hands on his pockets and wore a blue navy sweater you had given him on Christmas. You felt nervous all of the sudden.
“I wasn’t sure you would come, you didn’t answer my messages”, Harry said, getting closer so he could be in front of you.
“Can you blame me?”
“No, no. I can’t”, he chuckled.
“What do you want, Harry?”, you had way less patience than you thought. “You humiliate me, harass me, then try to be nice?”
“I know, I’m sorry”, his answer surprised you. “I wanted to apologize to you for…all of it”, he sounded frustrated with himself. “I lost my way for the past few weeks.”
“Tell me about it”, you crossed your arms.
“I was behaving badly was a way to mask the fact that I miss you.”
“I see Norman Osborn still pays dr. Lenny really well for his weekly therapy sessions”, you pointed out.
Harry smiled.
“You know it”, he chuckled. “I think you’d like to know that dr. Lenny’s dad, my dad’s therapist, dr. Boris, is still working.”
“Wait, he is still alive?”, you try to do the math on your head. “Isn’t dr. Lenny, like, 70?”
“Turned 72 last may”, Harry lets out a full laugh. Without thinking about it, you do too. “My whole life dr. Boris has been extremely old.”
“That’s crazy.”
Slowly, the laughs faded away.
“I should get going”, you said, breaking the silence.
“Well, before that, I just…wanna say I’m sorry again and…”, Harry locked eyes with you. “I know I fucked up, and you probably will never want to be my girlfriend or even my friend again, which I get, but I wish we could at least not pretend like we don’t know each other, you know?”
You knew what he meant. Ignoring and avoiding Harry had been just as exhausting as dealing with him.
He looked up to someone behind you. “Please at least consider it”, Harry said, taking a step back. “It was good to see you.”
“Consider what?”
You turned to find Miguel. You wondered how much of your conversation with Harry he had heard. Would he be jealous? He wasn’t your boyfriend, not really, but did he care? Would he think you had lied and wanted to get back with your ex?
“Hey!”, you feel a bit breathless. “Is everything ok? Where is Peter?”
“Yeah, Hobie and I took him home”, he sounded more serious than usual. He had a sip of your beer and, grabbing your elbow like before, took you outside.
“You went to Queens and came back?”
“We borrowed Margo’s car.”
“Oh.”
You started walking around and he followed, without looking at you. You knew how to get back to how things were before.
“Hey! It’s your turn to ask a question.”
“What did you see in that guy?”, the words left Miguel’s mouth as if they were desperate to break free.
You looked at him, puzzled, but remained silent, your throat going dry. It was a trick question, to which you knew the answer. It was an embarrassing one. Sad even.
“Why did you go out with him in the first place?”
Miguel seemed aggravated, not with you specifically, you just happened to be on the other end of the conversation. His tone made your heart ache.
“You would never understand”, you sounded like you were on the verge of breaking.
“Try me”, Miguel had his arms opened, taking a few steps backwards.
“Because he liked me, ok?”, you burst. Something in you snaps and you let it go. All of it. “Because he was nice and asked me out on a date and not as a joke, he was the first one, God, the only one, to ever ask me out!”
Miguel stopped in his tracks. You couldn’t focus on his face long enough to read his expression. Your hands went through your hair as you tried to grasp something, anything, while your mind started to spiral.
“Harry saw me. You can say whatever you want about him, but he didn’t care what people said about me, he just…asked me out on a date and took me out to dinner and treated me like an actual person.”
With your hands on your hips, you looked up, trying to stop your tears from falling. “After a lifetime of being shoved on the corner, being called names and being invisible…someone saw me. For the first time, I was just a girl getting to have the same experiences girls my age do”, you took a deep breath. “I thought I wasn’t worthy of it.”
Silence. You wiped your tears and looked down at him. Miguel looked like he had just been punched in the stomach.
“There’s your answer”, you murmured, giving him a sad smile. Yet he didn’t move. He just stayed still. You thought that by having…whatever it was that you had, you would be able to protect your heart. But you were so wrong.

The original lineup of Van Halen was on the verge of becoming one of the biggest acts in America in the early 1980s. After establishing themselves as hard rock gods at the tail end of the 1970s, the band was gaining more mainstream recognition and continued to incorporate more modern production into their sound. They were also working at a dangerous pace, having released one album every year while touring virtually non-stop.
1982’s Diver Down is a clear sign of burnout. Five covers, three instrumentals, and no true classic tracks among the bunch. Originally, Eddie Van Halen wanted to put out a cover song to satiate the public’s desire for more Van Halen music, but when that went over well with the record company, the idea for a full album was just around the corner.
“I said, ‘Look, if you want to do a cover tune, why don’t we do ‘Pretty Woman’? It took one day,” Van Halen recalled to Guitar Player magazine in 1982. “We went to Sunset Sound in L.A., recorded it, and it came out right after the first of the year. It started climbing the charts, so all of a sudden Warner Bros is going, ‘You got a hit single on your hands. We gotta have that record.’ We said, ‘Wait a minute, we just did that to keep us out there, so that people know we’re still alive.’ But they just kept pressuring, so we jumped right back in without any rest or time to recuperate from the tour, and started recording.”
Roy Orbison’s ‘(Oh) Pretty Woman’ wound up being the choice, but David Lee Roth had a different song in mind. “Dave came up with the idea of, ‘Hey, why don’t we start off the new year with just putting out a single?’ He wanted to do ‘Dancing in the Street.’ He gave me the original Martha Reeves & the Vandellas tape, and I listened to it and said, ‘I can’t get a handle on anything out of this song.’ I couldn’t figure out a riff, and you know the way I like to play: I always like to do a riff, as opposed to just hitting barre chords and strumming.”
Van Halen came up with a suitable riff, but only by taking a work in progress and attaching it to what Roth and producer Ted Templeman wanted, which was a cover of ‘Dancing in the Street’. “I was working on a great song with this riff that I envisioned being more like a Peter Gabriel song, but when Ted [Templeman] heard it, he decided it would be great for ‘Dancing in the Street.’ Ted and Dave were happy, but I wasn’t. The riff was my original idea, and I didn’t get any writing credits for it.”
That conflict would later become emblematic of the compromises Van Halen felt he had to make on the album. “In some ways, I think Diver Down happened that way because Ted wanted more control,” Van Halen later recalled. “There was always an inner struggle between Ted and me. But with Diver Down, it was like I was being asked to turn back. After we made that album, I wanted to make sure that never happened again.”

nwos ramblings time
first of all WOOHOO YAHOO WAHA NEW TRAILER YIPPEE!!!
second of all. 2025. puts head in hands it's fine it's cool im patient it's not that long <- exploding
third. actual trailer thoughts.
it looks GREAT i REALLY LIKE IT
i really adore the artstyle they've used for the 3d models, they aren't as jarring as the old ones (which i didnt like at first but they grew on me) and still look real nice and stylized - a little nit picky but sometimes the mouths look? odd?? but like eh whatever. the noses too sometimes but again. eh whatever.
i will say though. i like the artstyle but. laytons new model. im kinda. iffy on it. at least right now it's prolly gonna be the old 3d models situation again where i gotta adjust then i can appreciate them in their own way but as of the moment. im kinda. hmmmm. i'll need to see them more in action too of course but right now he just feels. off. at times it looks fine and then others it looks odd. there's the outfit change, sure, which i wasnt the greatest fan of but i hardly hate it - i just prefer his big ol thick coat and sweater. that's fine, that isnt the problem, but he just. his whole shape language just feels! off! that man is a cylinder!! rounded squares!! reassuring and reliable!! in this he kinda looks like a triangle! maybe it's just the one idle pose cus we didnt see much STILL. part of what i liked about him is that this man is a TUBE. he is the cardboard tube that cain killed his brother with. now though he's looking less tube and more rolled up carpet with a rubber band on. but then again who knows these are just my initial gut reactions! maybe layton just decided he wanted to go to the club in which case slay king go for it also his head just looks like a touch too big but maybe that's also just my brain imagining things
also. luke's model. perfect no notes fantastic bowtie
the 3d cutscenes looked really nice which im pleasantly surprised by BUT i really hope they wont be used to like. replace 2d cutscenes. i dont imagine they will since they're a staple of the series but still.
kinda hope it stays like what we saw in the trailer where it's just layton's musings and lukes thoughts on things, maybe interspersed a bit throughout the gameplay where they need to be like 'look he picked up a thing here's a quick shot of it!' just yknow complimentary stuff and little moments. then again though i'd love for them to prove me wrong i just still have miracle mask cutscene ptsd
either way i like them so far and i hope this might mean we get a few more cutscenes where we can just see layton and luke interacting with stuff more. and also give us more swordfighting because i mean. layton swordfighting. it's the first time we've seen him in ages i'd be there trying to shove as many layton swordfights in as possible, finally give him a sword to just have on him at all times so that every single cutscene there's always the potential he'll just whip it out
the 2d art we have seen FANTASTIC i LOVE IT it's GREAT and the environments (or environment we've only seen like one) is DELIGHTFUL im so glad to see that good ol layton architecture im so excited to see more, ive always adored how environments and backgrounds are stylized also LITTLE LUKE AND LITTLE LAYTON SURVEYING THE SCENE!! THEY ARE JUST. IN THE CORNER. THEY ARE LOOKING!! it's a really small detail but it's GREAT i really hope it wont be just the one area
i also really like the hud we've seen so far, it looks clean without being obstructive or distracting - was a bit worried how they'd make it work on switch but so far it looks good still a bit worried about the memo just cus i know i will be playing mostly docked and memo functions with joysticks are. eck. but like hey im the one thats gonna opt out of using a stylus so that's on me, hopefully we can just stamp some stuff like circles and numbers maybe and that'll be enough
lastly though THE MUSIC!!! YEAHHH LAYTON MUSIC!!! layton music is always good this is no exception, absolutely looking forward to eventually having this new puzzle music ingrained in my mind after staring at a puzzle for 4 hours really been liking what we've been hearing so far it's got the good ol Layton Rhythm and the signature accordion but with a new twist i like, more brass instruments it sounds like man i cannot WAIT to hear what the title theme will sound like they always manage to pop off with the main theme
ok well anyway. managed to write a small opinion piece of a 3 minute trailer so that goes to show the grip this has on me. maybe this will finally spur me into finally doing art like ive been meaning to for uhhh checks watch. over. a year now. uhhhh anyway i think i've been writing this in snippets over the course of like an hour as i thought of more things to add but i dont have anything more at the moment so i am going to let this post go now to live in the wilderness. be free

Weremayhem: Song of Beasts. Ch 30: Fight of Pride
“Hey, if you guys are taking a break, how about you tell us the epic tale of how you got your name?” asked JJ with a smile.
“Oh! Well, there is a…” both Floyd and Teeth started to say.
“There is no story there,” said the good doctor.
“Oh, like, of course, there is,” replied Janice with a smile.
“Of course they do,” said Lips.
“Bunny! Bunny!” Animal’s voice is heard from a far as his pet bunny walks by JJ. The drummer follows the bunny with the other small mammal in his arms.
“When we started, we called ourselves “The Good Times Happy Trails Super Smiles Fun Band ", said Floyd Pepper.
“TGTHTSSFB” for short” added the blonde female.
“Oddly, our short was just as long,” the red haired male replied with a chuckle.
“Great story, good memories, the end” replied Dr. Teeth.
“The end? You didn’t even get to the good part.” replied Penny. She let out a soft laugh before looking over to JJ.
“They met me,” said the pink haired female. The ginger haired male put his hand on his forehead and looked upset.
“It was the first time the band ever played the Whiskey a Go Go” said Mrs. Waxman.
“Oh, yeah, we were, like, opening for the opening act” replied Janice.
“Man, forget the…” Floyd started to say. Suddenly, he gets cut off by Penny Waxman.
“That’s when I saw my big, golden tooth olive on stage, and I felt a burning deep in my soul and scalp.” she said with small chuckles. Lips’ eyes twitch a bit at her nickname for Teeth. His jealous self started to come out but he hid it.
“My hair caught on fire,” Penny added.
“Our ambitious laser light show shorted out zapping people without prejudice” replied Floyd Pepper.
“And when the rubble was cleared, and I came to, I gave the band a record deal” said Mrs. Waxman. The doc put his hand on his forehead again.
“Oh brother” the ginger haired male thought.
“And a new and improved name, Dr. Teeth and The Electric Mayhem” said Penny.
“And I gave her my honest feedback, which is, “Why is Teeth’s name in the front?” replied Floyd with a hiss.
“And I gave him my response, “Because I said so” replied the pink haired female.
“And , I gave in” replied the red haired male.
“Phew! Try that in a court of law” replied Lips.
“Lips is right,” replied Floyd.
“You know, we really got the shaft in that origin story,” he added. Him and the blonde male both nod.
“Um, like, guys?” asked Janice.
“We totally agreed years ago to never discuss the name thing and keep it bottled up, like healthy people do” she added.
“That’s exactly right. Look, it doesn’t matter how we’re monikerized, at the end of the day, we all know this band has no front man” replied Teeth. His voice had a hint of upset tone to it.
“That’s easy for you to say, given that you’re always in the front, man!” replied Floyd Pepper with a growl.
“Hey!” hiss the good doctor.
“Guys, hey…” JJ started to say in a nervous tone.
“Even our logo is your big mouth!” said the red haired male. Teeth’s mouth is wide open in shock.
“Your big mouth!” LIps added to Floyd’s comment.
“Let’s just… What just happened?” asked JJ in shock and horror.
“And it’s your little thing that’s always…” the blonde male started to say before it turns into mumbles as he points at the band leader.
They all start arguing like a bunch of house cats. JJ quickly walks away from the mess. “I’m talking to you!” mumbles Lips again.
Meanwhile across the fight, in the recording room, Moog and Nora were watching the whole thing go down. Nora’s ex walks in.
“They’re fighting,” he said. “The band that never fights is fighting,” JJ added.
“What did you do?” asked Label Lady in an upset tone.
“Nothing,” he replied. “I asked them how they got their name,” the male added.
“Oh. Yeah. No, that story always brings out the worst in them” replied Moog in a fake worried, sad tone.
“Man, I wish you would’ve asked me first,” he added with a sly smile.
“I did” replied JJ in an upset tone.
“I’ll handle this, JJ. You’ve done enough” replied Nora as she left the room.
“Nora. Nor…” the ex started to say but she was already out of the room. He turn to the black haired male. The smile on the mayhem fan was filled with pride.
“Well-played, pal,” said JJ.
“You know, not that it matters, but you are way out of your league here” he added.
“Am I, though?” asked Moog with a smirk on his face.
“Why don’t you save yourself the humiliation and slow your roll?” replied the ex.
“Or what?” replied the black haired male.
“Or the gloves come off,” replied JJ.
“Well, too late, cause mine are already off” replied Moog.
“Oh, yeah?” replied the other male.
“Yeah, and my skin is soft,” replied the fan. There is a little moment of silence between the two.
“Weird flex, but okay. Game on” replied JJ. He turns to leave when something suddenly bite his ankle. The ex let out a scream of pain before the thing that bit him let go.
JJ looks to see what bit him but doesn't see anything. Moog looks surprised. He noticed some lime green fur under the table. “Probably a rat,” mumbled the ex lover of Nora before leaving the room.
The mayhem fan gets on his knees and looks under the table to see Annie in her wereform. She had bit JJ. The kitten was hiding her face like a puppy who did something bad. The black haired male gently picks up the scare cheshire smilodon.
“Hey, it’s okay. You’re not in trouble.” he said as he comforted Annie. She snuggles close to Moog. The kitten let out soft meows as she calm down.
Meanwhile with Animal, he was looking for his pet bunny. “Bunny!” said the drummer as he looked for the small mammal. The bunny hops away from the wild man while he held the other one in his arms.
“Bunny! Come back, bunny!” Animal said as he followed the bunny.
The next day, Animal was holding his two bunnies with a huge smile on his face. He counts the two small mammals then chuckles. Suddenly a third bunny pops up next to him. “Huh?” The drummer look confused.
“Bunny? What?” he asked when a fourth one showed up on his head. “Bunny makes more bunnies!” the wild man said with a bigger smile on his face. He suddenly gets overwhelmed by the small mammals and fall down onto the floor.
“Bunny tickles” he said with chuckles as he lay on the floor.
Meanwhile with the other band members, Floyd wasn’t happy, he was upset over the backstory of the band’s name. “I demand the band name be changed!” he growled.
“This is a personal and professional atrocity on all levels” the red haired male added.
“Oh, for sure,” replied Janice.
“See?” replied Floyd.
“Oh, please,” replied Dr. Teeth with a hiss. He was wearing the light purple sweater that Penny made him. Lips was next to the doc, with a trumpet in his hand.
“We all know what this is really about,” the good doctor added.
“What?” asked Floyd Pepper.
“You’re jealous I got a sweater that turtles my neck” replied Teeth.
“What if I am?” replied floyd with a bark.
“Well, then, I’ll see if Penny can make you one!” replied the doc with a hiss.
“That would be very much appreciated!” replied the red haired male.
“You are very welcome!” replied Dr. Teeth.
“Well, thank you!” replied Floyd before walking away.
“Thank you!” replied the ginger haired male.
“You’re welcome!” replied Floyd Pepper.
“You’re welcome!” replied Teeth.
“Thank you!” replied the red haired male.
“You’re welcome!” shouts the good doctor. As Floyd walks away, the ginger haired male looks back over to the group.
Lips mumbles something under his breath. Teeth heard his lover’s mumbles. “You say something?” he asked the blonde male. Lips nods his head to his lover. The doc knows something is up but decides not to ask.
“Wait, Floyd. Where are you going?” asked Nora as she followed the red haired male out of the basement.
“Just like the dark horse himself, George Harrison. I’ll be taking my leave and going home to polite protest” he replied.
“This is your home” replied the black haired female. The front door opens to reveal Lips with a woman.
“Get out of my way!” yelled Floyd Pepper in an upset tone. He walked out of the shack with a huff and a grunt.
“Floyd, come back!” replied Label Lady with a tired sigh. She rolled her eyes.
“Hi, I’m Susanna” said the woman who was with Lips.
“Lips said you needed a Bangle for some sort of music doc?” she added. The blonde male nodded his head.
“Wow. Susanna Hoffs” replied Nora in shock. The black haired female has a big smile on her face.
“Ta-da!” said Lips with a smile on his face.
“Dude, I asked for the Beatles” she replied with a smile still on her face.
“She’s from The Bangles,” Label Lady added.
“Yeah,” replied the trumpet player.
“As in, I wanted a Ringo or a Paul” replied Nora with wide eyes.
“It’s cool. I’d do anything for Lips” replied Susanna Hoffs with a soft smile on her face.
“He is the one who taught me how to walk like an Egyptian,” she added. Lips starts to do the dance but stops after a few more seconds. His stomach hurts a bit after the dance.
“It was fun in the ‘80s” said Susanna. Suddenly, Zoot pops up between them.
“Hey, we’re looking to cast a Zoot. Wanna audition?” asked the dark blue haired male.
“Sounds fun,” she replied.
“Let’s run lines,” he replied. “Here’s the script, Zoot” Zoot added as he handed the script to her.
“Oh” replied Susanna as she held a massive amount of paper.
“What script?” asked Nora.
“It’s a documentary, okay? And you’re already Zoot” she added.
“We’re doing a documentary?” asked the saxophonist confused.
