This is where I side-eye a lot of arguments that Tommy doesn't care about Buck the way he should. Like, it's fine if you don't like the relationship or want Buck to be with Eddie (or anyone else). But, like, please don't act like someone showing up and choosing Buck despite it being more convenient (and in the case of after the failed first date) perfectly understandable and even logical NOT to isn't, like, THE CORE of what Buck wants in a romantic partner. (and yes, guys, I ship Buddie too, I KNOW that Eddie has been doing that from day one, I AGREE that Eddie has been doing that from day one...just, Tommy's doing it too, don't pretend he's not)

from a neurodivergent perspective. coddling the person you are romantically interested in is, in one word, unnecessary. i'm not going to lie and say i like the coffee, you don't know how i like my coffee, you didn't do anything wrong. if i'm going out of my way to show up to your themed event where i can't even drink because i might get called into work at any moment, you know, to go fight a wildfire, and i can't be wearing a ridiculous outfit when that happens. what are we doing here. this is me, if you like me, then you like me. i have no time to put on a show or play games. it's actually really fucking refreshing to me that tommy was unapologetically himself during the entire intricate rituals courtship between the two of them. and even better that buck likes him exactly as he is. yeah no wonder I'm insane about them.

Idk about you, but there was a period of ATLA fans trying their damn hardest to convince me that Katara didn't get any hate. And then when I counted that yes, she did (I didn't make up all of 2020 and 2021 ffs), they told me to calm down?? Like, am I the only one who's experienced this?

IT’S SO WEIRD! It’s not even just revisionist history, it literally still happens today. Reddit is overrun with “haha Katara dead mom” jokes. Redditors really show their asses with their simultaneous contempt for Katara and their fervent defense of Ka/taang.

On Tumblr I blame the Zu/kka shippers lmao (who also tend to be the ones who claim to be neutral multishippers, as if multishipping wasn’t the norm in this fandom, yes even amongst the ZKs). Some m/m shippers really want to get rid of the female character in the way of their m/m ship. Which, hey, shipping is supposed to be fun, and if you put Katara with Aang or Azula or Haru or Suki or whoever with zero development for the purpose of your Zu/kka, there’s nothing wrong with that! They do that with Mai and Ty Lee, no drama, bc Mai is not so well developed as a character.

It’s just that…instead of admitting they want to get rid of Katara so that they can enjoy their Zu/kka, they emphasize how she’s so mean to their woobie Zuko, or to their woobie Sokka. Then you get absolutely wild mental gymnastics that are just Katara slander with more steps, like the baffling “homophobic Katara” headcanon (as if Katara, who allowed a fortuneteller to dictate her breakfast and spent the entire show waffling over whether she likes a boy, is any less likely to be queer). People on Tumblr don’t hate on Katara directly anymore because they know it’s misogynistic, so instead we are subjected to a wide variety of random ass takes. The latest form of Katara slander is “just let her be a kid” and assigning her qualities to Sokka, which I categorically refuse to read, because it pisses me off. People are so weird about Katara.

I think this must be something specific to Zu/kka, not m/m ships in general. My first major ship was Klaine and female character slander was not an issue at all. Anyway I ship all variations of Fire Sib x Water Sib (except the incest ones, which apparently requires clarifying nowadays), but Zu/kka is becoming my least fave of the bunch due to fandom shenanigans.

Dominique Luca is a third generation SWAT officer and has had a string of failed relationships his entire life and he is literally a happy go lucky guy, but very deep rooted with his own demons. He is a natural athele, boxing and arm wrestling, dabbled in wrestling and is always usually the upbeat one. He very much cares for his team who is his family after a difficult relationship with his father and grandfather.

Street grew up in a household of domestic violence between his two parents and when he was 12, he entered the fostercare system when his mother shot and killed his father and ended up in prison. Being a kid with trauma after the beatings he had received himself, he resented his mother and got into trouble and in with the wrong crowd until the arresting officer of his mother took him under his wing and eventually he joined the LAPD. In the beginning he was a hot head, a wannabe big shot and cocky and mellowed eventually with some guidance and a few reality checks along the way. He quickly becomes an essential part of the team and family.

Chris Alonso

Chris is Colombian- American, her mother an alcoholic and a criminal who often made Chris's life he'll and as she navigated a difficult childhood, her mother died in an car accident while she was drunk and at the police station she overheard two officers joking about her mother's current state of remains. This firmly made Chris decide that she wanted to be a police officer and to treat victims and next of kin with respect and dignity. At 14, she was kidnapped by a local gang in mistaken identity and was beaten, tortured and sexuall assaulted which hardened her resolve and made her distrusting while she lived with her aunt, uncle and cousins. She didn't tell her family of the abuses she suffered until many years later. Chris worked as a police officer in LA before becoming a K-9 handler, her dog Champ was her trusted partner and then she joined SWAT as the LAPD's only female officer in history until she tried to enforce fairer opportunities for women. Being the only female in history to join SWAT has made her volatile and a badass because she needs to prove her position and her earned spot on the team. Everything the guys can do, she can do better.

David "Deacon" Kay

Faceclaim - Jay Harrington

Age -47 - 50 (depends on verse)

Occupation- - SWAT sergeant LAPD

Security - Straight/ Gay/Bisexual (Depending on verse)

Personality - Quiet and composed, ethically minded, natural leader, family orientated, loyal and trustworthy, tough personal, protective and fierce, selfless, self-sacrificing, religious, faithful, sensual, responsible, calm, cautious, confident, disciplined and diplomatic, uptight and easy going, independent, honourable, mature, patient.

Background (Can be adjusted depending on verse)

David "Deacon" Kay was named so by his fellow officers due to him being a Deacon at his church, married to Annie who was studying environmental law when she discovered she was pregnant and over the course of their marriage, had three more children so four in total. She also dropped out of college so she could support her husband of climbing the SWAT and LAPD ladder so she took care of the children. Deacon has a very strict lifestyle as a father and husband, religious and promotes life long qualities in his children and offers support and advice when needed to his team.

(For this character I will write Deacon that he is separating or has separated from Annie, but still very much an active parent. If he is bisexual or gay in some verses he will still be religious to a degree)

I genuinely, GENUINELY do not understand the hate this scene is getting. I've had this exact interaction with partners before? That's a fond 'you're an idiot, but you're MY idiot, try not to stay up all night' exasperation, not dismissiveness. Like--there are thousands and THOUSANDS of fics at this point where the central point of the story is that Buck finally gets someone who fusses over him and takes care of him when he's sick/injured, in exactly the manner that Tommy did. I have read most of them with my own eyeballs. We've been saying we want Buck to be loved and taken care of and made a priority by his LI for years, why are you complaining that we're getting it?

It’s important to note that Tommy never told Buck to shut up during his ramblings, only to go to bed because he needs rest if he wants to heal. He didn’t make Buck feel bad about his hyper fixation, he only reminded him that he needs sleep. It’s just really nice way to have a partner there for him without putting him down for Being Buck.

“Baba?”

Bumi glances down at the little girl laying next to him, her head pillowed on his leg, her bright blue eyes staring up at him.” What’s up, tigerdillo?”

“Am I ever gonna get a new mommy?” Mizuki murmurs. He just smiles sadly, pats her head.

“I don’t know,” he whispers back,” it’s just…a little complicated, sometimes.”

Complicated. Hah. Yeah, that was a good way of putting his love life. It had been…difficult, to say the least, since Mizuki’s mom walked out, but they were making it work. Somehow. It was hard, but they were getting through it.

(Worth it, he thinks, for every minute he gets with his little girl.)

The doorbell chimes, interrupting his thoughts.

“Come in!” he calls - he already knows who it is.

His mom walks through the door, a beaming smile on her face.” Well, if it isn’t my favorite grandkid.”

“Grandma!” Mizuki shouts, practically shooting to her feet. She nearly bowls Katara over as she runs over, practically leaping into her.

“Oh, I see, only here for the grandkid,” Bumi groans. His mother just rolls her eyes, waves him over; he can’t help but smile as he walks over, wraps his mom in a big bear hug.” Thanks for coming, mom.”

“Of course, sweetheart,” Katara says, gives him a kiss on the cheek.” Back at nine, right?”

He nods.” Should be. I’ll let you know

“Hey, kiddo, baba’s gonna meet a friend, okay?” he says, kneeling down in front of Mizuki. (Yeah. Friend. That was one way of saying he had a date.)” You be good for your grandmother, okay?”

Zuki nods enthusiastically, and he just knows he’s going to walk into a disaster when he gets home. That’s the nod that means she’s going to get into trouble, and there’s nothing anyone can do to stop her. He hugs his daughter, gives her a kiss on the forehead, and grabs his coat off the chair. He stops

“And no, Mom, you can’t give her ice cream for dinner this time.” He can’t help but roll his eyes as their twin laughter - and it really is the same laugh, it’s incredible and adorable that his little girl got his mother’s laugh - chases out the door.

Whatever he’d expected when he walked out his door, it wasn’t this. It’s the best night he’s had in…a long time. With anyone. And as he and Izumi walk down the sidewalk, their hands swinging between them, breath frosting in the cold night air, he wishes it didn’t have to end. Bumi can’t help but look at her again as she laughs at some stupid story he’d told, watch as she pushes her glasses back up her nose and brushes a strand of hair behind her ear.

(She’s funny and smart and kind and…everything he could ever want. He knows that much.)

“Sorry, I, uh, this is my place,” Bumi says as he comes to a stop.” Gotta make sure my mother and daughter didn’t throw a party.”

“Yeah, I know what you mean,” Izumi chuckles.“ You, ah, have a daughter?”

He nods.” Yeah. Mizuki. She’s six. Tiny little tigerdillo always runs me ragged.”

“My son is just like that,” Izumi laughs.” Seven years old and he just doesn’t slow down.”

Bumi smirks, shakes his head.” Kids, am I right?”

A soft smile spreads across Izumi’s face, and she glances away. For a moment, he thinks he’s done something wrong, until she looks back at him and there’s a faint hint of redness in her cheeks.” You know…Iroh’s birthday is next month. Maybe…maybe Mizuki would like to go?”

Bumi can read between the lines. He’s a bit oblivious, sure, but he can tell what Izumi is asking.

(Will you come? That’s what Izumi is really asking. Or, at least, he thinks that's what she’s asking. He’s never been too great at understanding women. Truly mysterious creatures.)

“Maybe we should give them a playdate first,” he suggests, taking a step closer - maybe it’s just his imagination, but she seems to take a step closer, too.

(She’s beautiful, he thinks. The most beautiful person he’s ever met, and she was here, with him?

He was beyond lucky.)

“Playdate for them,” Izumi says, her eyes shining as she steps closer, leans in,” and…maybe another date for us?”

“I like the sound of that,” Bumi rasps. He brings his hand up to her cheek, searching for permission - she doesn’t give it to him.

Instead, she leans up on her toes and presses her lips to his.

(Mizuki will ask him again, later, if she’s ever going to get a new mother.

This time, he just smiles.

“Not yet,” he says,” but…I think I found someone.”)

dancing + kurt

Kurt does enjoy dancing, i mean we know that because of Single Ladies, but its not his most favourite thing to do (see First Time and Blame It On The Alcohol) he mostly likes to watch others dance if he's in a club or at a party, he's actually kind of a wallflower - unless of course he's trying to keep Sebastian's hands off of Blaine. That being said, I can see Kurt enjoying, maybe, ballroom dancing, or going swing dancing. Something more old-fashioned like he'd see in his favourite old black and white movies. Chummel popped into my head first, for obvious reasons, but I'm imagineing a senario where Kurt is some famous Broadway star, or some household name in fashion, or whatever, and he's invited onto Dancing With The Stars. now, we know they're willing to do same sex pairs (thank you JoJo Siwa! (and also Nicola Adams who did it first on Strictly (british DWTS) last year and John Whaite as the first male/male pair on Strictly this year, apparently!)) So Kurt requests this, and he gets paired up with Mike - they'd lost touch a few years back and Kurt isn't actual a DWTS fan so he didn't know Mike was a dancer on it (or maybe he's new and Kurt is a fan idk) and they have loads of fun dancing and catching up and they win the competition and get together.

camping + sam

Sam is definately a camper! and whoever he's with will have to just deal with that. But they love him so they put up with it. I'm imagining Samcedes, after getting back together around their 30s would go camping a lot when Mercedes isn't on tour. Either they'd go somewhere in Ohio near Lima or they'd go up to the mountains in LA/California and camp there, maybe even somewhere around the appalachians in New York. Mercedes demands it's more like Glamping though, maybe in some cool Air BnB in nature without other people where there's running water but it still feels like camping enough to Sam. This could also really work with Hevans, but I can imagine Kurt actually starting to kinda like camping. I mean, Burt totally took him a few times when he was a kid, but he didn't like the bugs and the dirt. But with Sam it's easier, because Kurt's in love. So he puts up with it, and begins to really get into, like, making campfires and roasting marshmellows. Maybe they go for the first time with Burt and Carole and Finn the summer before S4. and then, when Kurt and Sam are together (idk how in this senario) they go to the same campground in Ohio, or places around the appalachians. Blam, however? Blaine would totally be up for camping with Sam. idk why because he doesn't look like the type exactly but I can see Blaine, in all his button up shirts and bow tied glory, being at one with nature sitting outside a tent roasting marshmellows and making smores with their adorable little toddler next to him and Sam looking at the scene with heart eyes. (I couldn't choose just one ship for some reason... my multishipping heart is too big)

traveling + jesse

I'mma do St. Cooper because it's fun to ship them. So Jesse, after years of theatre, realises that maybe he's not the hot commodity he was in High School and he sells out and starts doing commercials and TV just to get his name out there. he hates it just so we're clear. Because he's a theatre snob. Anyway, on a job he meets Cooper. it's for a TV show set all over Europe or something and they're playing small bit roles, glorified extras really, but still, they've got a lot of time to wait around and do nothing and they're being paid to do so and traveling all around europe, so as the two glorified extras in the show they hang out together a lot and just explore the cities or towns or small little villiages in the english countryside where they're filming. and eventually they fall in love. neither of them have any idea they both have connections to the New Directions until Cooper introduces Jesse to his family like a year later, namely Blaine and Kurt, and all hell breaks loose (mostly Kurt accusing Jesse of having some nefarious plan.)

food + adam

Adam is always on the look out for british shops or restuarants in New York, but hardly any of them are right. But somehow, when he and Kurt start going out, Kurt shows him this little high tea place in Brooklyn (which totally feels out of place in the hipster neighbourhood) that is perfect. it has his brand of tea!!! and trust me, even as a non-tea drinking brit this is a thing here. Sure, most people will be fine with any if you're at a person's house, but there is a lot of debate over which is better. Tetley? PG Tips? Yorkshire Tea? Adam himself is a PG Tips man for English Breakfast tea, mostly because of their little monkey mascot that he remembers fondly from his childhood and because it was the first cup of tea he ever had. And this place had it and they brewed it to perfection and now he and Kurt go there for most of their dates and Adam talks the owners (a nice old british couple from surprisingly close to his hometown in Essex) and convinces them to let him buy boxes of the tea for himself to make at home. (okay so this is less food and more drink ahaha)

mornings + rachel

Rachel is such a morning person it's obnoxious. The only person I can think of who would be right there with her, ship wise, is Jesse. Who is also an obnoxious morning person. They would both be up at like... 5am, and working out in the gym of their apartment building together looking out at the manhatten skyline (because they totally live in one of those fancy expensive appartments), and then running scales at their piano and doing scenes at their breakfast table as their cook makes breakfast (because they are both terrible cooks, though Rachel can at least bake well)

autumn + tina

Tina loves autumn, but not the snuggly sweaters, pumpkin spice latte autumn. Tina is all about spoopy season. From September until Early November her home is decked out with Halloween decorations. She likes the tasteful gothic look, slightly celestial. She has crystals and skulls and purples and oranges, and on the week leading up to halloween proper she adds spider webs and skeletons and vampires, tacky plastic monsters that sing The Monster Mash as you walk past them and pumpkin string lights. I can imagine Artie haveing fun decorating with her, with his director brain, and he and her would dress up their kids and they'd all make cute little home videos and 'horror' movies each year. and of course they'd all go trick or treating.

The Good, The Bad, and the Dirty: Spop season 5

I’ve stopped screaming, and I took the time to rewatch season 5 with my little brother. So, here are my thoughts:

The Good

Horde Prime - The cult™ : I really dig the aesthetics, that combo of religious fanatics + fascism hit good. The crew did a good job at portraying Horde Prime as the ultimate villain of the show. He was engaging to watch and his ideology was pretty clear. The way they played with the hive mind concept was really fun, and it was Horde Prime’s biggest strength. He was also a very good manipulator, successfully playing with Glimmer and Adora. He was unsuccessful with Catra because she had already hit her lowest point.

Entrapta: honestly, she was the most hilarious character this season. Not only was she engaging to watch and listen to, I felt really connected to her this season. The fight with Mermista hit really good and it hurt, but you could see her trying her best. I love how open she is and how accepting of everyone and everything. I’m glad we got to see so much of her this season.

Scorpia: baby, she only deserves good things in life. When she got mind control, you could see how fucking powerful she is, but luckily for us, we got to see her shine independently before that. Her interactions with Swift Wind, Perfuma, and Double Trouble made her shine. She’s smart, talented, and without an evil bone in her body. I’m happy she can move on from Catra and find love and friendship. (I hope she reconnects with Lonnie, Rogelio and Kyle in the future too)

Mermista: babe, you were always mood. She has been consistently funny, her get ups and plans are so entertaining to watch, but also: her relationship with Sea Hawk is great! They are definitely made for each other. I’m sad she was mine controlled for the other half of the season, but I’m happy we got to see a lot of her before. (Also she burned someone’s ship OMG GANGSTER SUIT)

Sea Hawk: happy to see him back. He was funny as always, and I’m happy he got his moment with Mermista at the end. 

Perfuma: “ADORA, WHAT DO YOU HAVE THERE?” “A TANK” “NO!” Her relationship with Scorpia is so good! I wish we could’ve seen more.

Netossa: I was one of those who was sad to know the 2 canon lesbians of the show were just background characters. I am so incredibly happy to see her shine this season! SHE SAID MY WIFE. She is the queen of the roasts and I stan.

Spinnerella: Dude, I didn’t know you were this powerful what the fuck. Also, your wife is super cute and she draws like Noelle.

Emotional Support Cat: Bro, I love Melog’s design. I think it was a really clever way to have Catra express her feelings and process them out loud for the audience by giving Catra a supernatural cat.

New She-ra design: I see the subtle reference to Bow, Glimmer and Catra in the design. Honestly, Adora looks 100% more badass.

Not Hordak: I really wish he had picked a name from himself. Aside from Entrapta, this might be the other hilarious character of the season. He goes through his individualization process in a healthier way than Hordak and showcases that the clones can be different from Horde Prime and rehabilitated. I wonder how he will feel about Hordak? But we got no epilogue so idk I guess.

Darla: I can’t believe they named the ship, but I love it.

The Best Friends Squad: I swear to god, when Bow, then Glimmer and then Catra interrupted Adora’s train of thought, I knew we were going to have a great dynamic. The way their characters play of each other is hilarious. Bow, who usually has the only braincell, is cautious and a total dad; Adora is the dumb jock with the heart of gold that gets herself into trouble; Glimmer is the chaotic enchantress with no patience; and finally Catra who’s got all her walls up, but gets shit done. I want a show of them together going on misions and almost dying in the process, thank you.

Catra Redemption: You wanted it, and here you have it! I was cheering for Catra this whole season while proclaiming I’d die for her (which I had only reserved for Scopia previously). Though things may be a little rushed, Catra takes her time to process things, and goes back and forth a couple of times. She deflects, lies, and runs away, but in the end she opens up and rushes back.

In general, the season was packed with content. I was never bored through any episodes and I honestly laughed outloud while watching it alone and later with my brother. There were moments when we paused the episode to discuss what had just happened or to process new information. This makes me feel even more weird about the bland season 2/3 division.

The Bad

Okay so, let me make this clear: I will never attack a ship or anyone who supports it. In this blog we multiship like adults and respect other people’s OTPs.

That being said, while this season was long and packed with content, it also felt rushed when it came to the relationships of the main cast

Glimmer - Catra: The prison episodes had barely any interactions between both of them. I wish they’ve had had more time to talk and to connect. There were Glitra moments that make me feel happy, and my brother was for a moment convinced that they could be canon. They are foils of each other after season 4. The conversation they had, where they realize they had a lot of things in common could’ve been a catalyst for both of them to grow and heal. However, Catra has her change of heart really soon and saves Glimmer, which prevents any deep interactions between them in the future. Aside from the jokes, Catra must be with Adora, and Glimmer must be with Bow, so everything else gets dropped.

Glimmer - Adora: The conflict between them after Angela’s “death” was one of the main plot points of last season. When they reunite again, their issues are solved in a couple of minutes and then brushed off. They really don’t have big interactions after that, which feels completely OOC and empty.

Glimmer - Bow: I wasn’t the only one who felt the sharp turn of their relationship. In previous seasons, it was really platonic, but as soon as they see each other again you know they are going to end up together. The camera zoomed on them, Bow was always holding her protectively, the way they looked at each other change. Since Glimmer is not allowed to have intimate moments with anyone else, it kinda dulls everything up. Don’t get me wrong, I love some best friends to lovers, but in this case it felt rushed for me. If I pinpoint the moment things turned romantic for them, it’s the first time they interact in person this season. It didn’t feel organic (contrast with a ship like Korrasami, where you can point at the moment Asami realized she had feelings for Korra, and then later when Korra’s attitude towards Asami changes after the time skip).

Adora - Catra: Honey, we all knew this was going to be end game, and I love the fact that Catra is dealing with her feelings and Adora acknowledges that. However, after the end of season 3, I’d have expected things to progress a little slower. Catra did put some resistance with the chip scene, but even afterwards, what would’ve been better paced with more episodes, was condensed in a few. Don’t get me wrong. I love that Catra redemption, but I’d have loved a better pacing.

BTW for anyone interested: I ship Glitradora, so any of the 3 ships ending up canon were good for me, and I liked Bow/Glimmer, just preferred them as bffs.

There’s a list of characters that barely show up that could’ve had more screentime:

Huntara: barely appears at all. She’s seen fighting, but there are no references to her or a storyline with her.

Lonnie, Rogelio and Kyle: briefly shown. The gay couple of the century have adopted the baby demon and are now the best dads in the desert. Lonnie is their braincell.

Double Trouble: at least they had a scene and lines, but I feel like they could’ve been more involved after they were discovered by Scopria, especially since they escaped with Sea Hawk and Perfuma.

The Star Siblings: idk man, they were part of a whole episode and then faded into the background. It was a glorified cameo for an episode where Glimmer and Bow fight.

Glimmer’s Aunt: sorry but I was asking “where the hell is she?” until she finally showed up late. She barely had any purpose.

The Dirty

Hey, guys, girls, and nonbinary pals, can we sit down and talk about redemptions?

IDK about you, but just because a show is aimed at kids you shouldn’t “redeem” all the villains. This trend bothers me specially when it touches on abuse or totalitarian leaders.

Shadow Weaver was an abuser until the end. She shouldn’t have had a heroic sacrifice, and her “I’m proud of you” line was bitter for me. I’ve said before I was raised in an abusive household and I don’t think it’s healthy to tell children that you can change your abuser or that you can expect them to change without therapy. I’m glad Shadow Weaver died, but I wish her death wasn’t in any way shape or form considered a “redemption”. A heroic act of sacrifice doesn’t erase all the pain she cause and the years of trauma Catra and Adora have had to endure.

Hordak. HEY HEY ETRAPDAK SHIPPERS DON’T COME FOR ME! I was weirded up by the ship until I realized Etrapta is in her late 20s. I’m happy they found each other but I think it’d be better if Hordak had to redeem himself through a life of service to Etheria. He can't erase the horrible things he has done, but with the help of Entrapta and others, he could give back to the community he ruined. Since we don’t have an epilogue, we just see him reuniting with Entrapta at the end and that’s it.

ALSO SOMEONE GIVE MICAH A HAIR TIE. My man, you are not in a hostile island anymore, go rock a dad bun or a dad ponytail!

Mini-Pic prompt: Rey/snowball; Meg March/slush

(Going to do the Rey prompt first and the Meg one later! Assume this is a “missing moment” between TLJ and TROS in which they spend some time on a Hoth-like snow planet. The planet I’ve chosen does exist in the Star Wars canon, any mistakes are my own.

Neither Finn nor Rey have ever seen snow before and Poe cannot decide if it’s adorable or hilarious.

The remnants of the Resistance had come to Vandor, a remote, mostly uninhabited planet in the Outer Rim, in the hopes of possibly establishing a base. Years ago, in the early days of the Empire, the planet had been a site of “galactic expansion” (Poe didn’t like to think too hard about what that might mean) but now, even its fort had been mostly abandoned to the elements. It was, however, full of old wrecked Empire craft that they could pillage for parts, and, more importantly, it was unlikely that the First Order would follow them there, at least for the time being. The main reason for this was that it was so far off, so forgotten, that some star charts didn’t even bother plotting its course on them any more.

The second reason was because Vandor was, as Poe was fond of calling it, cold as balls.

He can see his breath as he helps Leia off the ship--she’s muttering under her breath about have we learned nothing from Hoth and when they all get eaten by wampas not to come crying to her--and he turns over his shoulder to see where Finn and Rey have gotten to. Finn is standing a few feet away with his back to him, shoulders hunched against the frigid wind as he looks straight up at the sky. Rose stands next to him, looking unfazed--Poe thinks he recalls her saying she was from a cold planet, but he’s pretty sure it wasn’t this damn cold. He picks his way through the knee-deep snow, trying to ignore Threepio’s mind-numbing chatter about Vandor’s history, and that’s when he spots Rey.

She’s standing still as a statue, watching the snow fall in flurries around them. On her face is a mix of fascination and maybe a bit of fear--she’s from a hostile world of sand and heat and has probably never felt cold like this in her life. Poe watches as she stretches out a hand to catch a falling snowflake, then flinches when it melts on her hand as if its touch burned her. Next to him, Leia chuckles lightly. Poe arches an eyebrow at her.

“Luke may have had a...similar reaction, once upon a time,” she says impishly, nodding her head at Rey. “She’s a long way from Jakku.”

The General continues to make her way towards the abandoned outpost ahead of them, without waiting for Poe. None of them know what they’ll find when they get there, but it’s as good of a plan as any, and it’s what they’ve got right now.

In spite of himself, Poe laughs. It’s all so ridiculous that he can’t help it, and before he can stop himself he scoops up a handful of snow, the cold like tiny needles against his bare skin. He molds the snow into a ball and sends it launching at Rey, landing with a wet slap against her shoulder.

He regrets it almost immediately. She turns around, instinctively reaching for the saber at her belt, her eyes wild with fright and determination. “Woah, woah!” Poe cries out, holding up his hands. “Hey, it’s okay! No danger! It’s just me!”

“What was that?” she demands, her saber clutched in her hand, but not ignited. Dormant for now...like her fear. Like all of their fear as they hide out on this dead, frozen planet.

“A snowball. You know, like kids throw.” She gives him a blank look, and he winces, because of course she doesn’t know, and he was trying to lighten the mood and only succeeded in making everything worse. Finn and Rose have joined them now, looking at Poe in confusion. “It was supposed to be fun. I’m sorry, Rey.”

“A...snowball,” she repeats, as if she’s testing out the word.

“Yeah. You throw them. Snowball, as if snowball fight. It’s fun. Watch.” Slowly, deliberately, he stoops down again and scoops snow into his hands, allowing Rey to watch him as he makes another snowball. He straightens up and tosses it gently, at Finn this time, who is caught off-guard and makes no move to catch it as it hits his chest. He gives Poe a withering look.

“Thanks.”

“Anytime.”

Rey still looks uncertain. “Can you make another one?”

He does, and this time he feels an unseen hand lift it from his when he’s done--Rey using the Force to lift it and examine it. “See?” he asks with a slight grin. “Not so bad, huh?”

He comes to regret that sentence a few minutes later when Rey sends four snowballs lobbing towards him using the Force, but he supposes he deserves it, after all.

WHAT’S YOUR OTP FOR YOUR MUSE? :  I don’t really have one!! Betty is pretty shippable with a lot of the characters and muses!! It really comes down to chemistry for me and I also love to do pairings that aren’t as common for her.

HOW LARGE DOES THE AGE GAP HAVE TO BE TO MAKE IT UNCOMFORTABLE? :  If I play Betty as canon, which for the most part I do, I say no more than 2 years older than her. so, nothing over the age of 18..19 at the most. For older Betty, I would go as far as maybe 5 years. Nothing too crazy.

ARE YOU SELECTIVE WHEN SHIPPING? :  I think so. But its all based on chemistry, baby! I love discussing the possibility of shipping with people, but sometimes that doesn’t work out. And that’s okay. So I wouldn’t say I am intentionally selective, but it happens.

HOW FAR DO STEAMY MOMENTS HAVE TO GO BEFORE THEY’RE CONSIDERED NSFW? :   While I do really enjoy writing NSFW things, because I feel like it can help in some instances, to build character and headcanons on how they love the person they are with. what do you think / do you have any plans of writing Beverly Crusher/William Riker stories in the future?

First, I have a lot of thoughts and feelings about “The Host” which I go into here.

But setting that aside, I secretly ship this. I say secretly because I am on record as being all in on Picard/Crusher and to a lesser extent Riker/Troi so even though I multiship like a mothershipper, it might be a surprise. But even without the super messy and thus super interesting Host situation, I like these two.

Compared to the other three, Will Riker is a child. Especially at the beginning of the series. That’s not all bad – it feeds his curious, excitable, willing to push things too far personality (yo, someone ask me about Janeway/Riker). But as much as he likes to push boundaries, he also appreciates the boundaries. He likes structure, and rules, and plans, and security. He just views them all through a very Riker-centric lens. Because he’s an adolescent.

And that’s why Deanna – his first love, first serious relationship with a peer – scares him, but Beverly, mature and maternal but sexy af, and ‘wounded’ enough to need him, attracts him. Plus she comes with a bonus kid old enough Will doesn’t have to father him (especially given Picard is right there) but young enough he looks up to Will as the hotshot Starfleet authority Will desperately wants to be seen as. We see in a few different episodes that Riker has always wanted a nice little nuclear family to weather the storms of life with. He wants to be taken care of (by Beverly) and he wants to take care of (both Beverly and Wesley). He doesn’t, at this point, want an equal (Deanna).

The best part of Will Riker is that he grows up over the course of the series. He gets stuck on the Enterprise, and he has to figure out why, which leads to self-reflection, in depth communication with others, and reassessment of his goals and desires. What if a relationship with Beverly was a part of that? I can see it, and I am intrigued.

On Beverly’s side, Will’s fun, and might even be a little bit like Jack. It would make sense given Picard chose him for his second. And someone who reminds her of Jack, but doesn’t remind her of Jack’s death (like Jean-Luc does), would be welcome. That said, I don’t think she would see it as a long term lasting relationship – she’s not going to marry him. But that’s okay, she’s not looking to get married. She did that, it ended up pretty terrible, and also idealized, she focused on raising her son for a long while, now she’s finally exploring all her options in a her career, and her personal life, too. A playful, keep things light and easy relationship with Riker (the kind she could never have with Picard and he only pretends to have with Troi) sounds great.

And that’s what I would write if I were to write this pairing. A fun, easy flirtation that eventually becomes physical – probably as a result of “The Host”, but anywhere in seasons 3-6 works and hey, maybe Will is the reason Beverly turns Jean-Luc down in “Attached”. I don’t have any plans to write it, because I have so many things I’m writing and planning right now, but I’ve thought about them often (and I am actually more likely to write them than Picard/Crusher or Riker/Troi because they are niche and intrigue me). Soooo, thank you for your patience waiting for this response and if you want to request a prompt ficlet for these two… I’m open to it (it will just require further patience).

Considering the ages of my muses, I like for them to be close together in age, though my biggest gap’s probably about two to three years so long as we’re talking teenagers or close to teenagers. Honestly it just- Really depends.

are you selective when shipping?: Hell yeah I am. I don’t just throw my characters into ships just to ship; I want there to be good chemistry between the characters before I ever start shipping them officially. Thankfully, most people are actually good with this rule, so I don’t get bothered often.

how far do steamy moments have to go before they are considered nsfw?: Because my characters are kids, I never get into steamy moments unless it’s someone like maybe Curo, but Curo’s about sixteen and kind of a fuckboy so yeah. I don’t really do smut with him though.

I’m really into single-shipping, but there have been rare occasions where people have come to me saying that they’ve lowkey shipped their character with mine, and I do like talking about an alternative timeline where that ship did happen, if it’s possible of course; that ship would never be a canon one though, but it’s still fun to speculate.

what is your favourite ship in your current fandom?: Completely discounting my souls and their ships, I’m into Asgoriel as well as love Charisk depending on the Chara and Frisk. I know I’m just supposed to list my favorite, but fuck it man- Here are my top two because I love them both.

finally, how does one ship with you?: Well first of all, never come to me and randomly just, “Hey I wanna ship these two characters,” if they’ve never interacted before, because all that’s gonna happen is that I’m gonna become self-aware of you trying to ship our characters (especially the two mentioned), and it’s gonna make me uncomfortable. Why? It just does. It’s really best to let characters interact, and then later on, if you see something, just hit me up and be all like, “Yo I kind of ship these guys,” and nine times out of ten I’ll probably reply with, “Yo same man- Wanna ship?” The one time out of ten where I don’t ship are usually when I only see the characters as friends or if my character’s sexuality doesn’t match up with the ship, which has happened before.

HAMAHAYA. HAMAHAYA BIG TIME. And also lowkey Ishimondo but HamaHaya is my main one!!! I love them so much and I have so many headcanons and stories for them!!! Oh, Voltron definitely! I saw all this fanart, and fics and stuff and all I knew it was filed under ‘gays in space’, but then @justanothermatsugirl and @srta-double invited me to watch and… Porntron came to be. And Porntron is the best thing. Ever.

L: Your favorite fanartist/author gives you one request, what do you ask for?

It depends? I usually try to make both of us happy when it comes to requests, for example, if that person likes, say, HamaHaya but I feel like I want HamaKura I will ask them for HamaHaya anyways because 1. HAMAHAYA and 2. Maybe they will put more feel into the art!!! And what is most important of art is the feelings that it is put into it! Best art is the art you can tell the author put all their heart on~!

N: Your favorite fandom (for the people; not the thing you fangirl over).

Um… Is it normal I want to say the MOTHER fandom on 2014? Especifically on DA. It was like a tiny family… Everyone knew each other. Everyone was nice with each other. It was so nice. But now everyone parted ways and I have no idea where everyone is. Most left DA (and so did I) and I can’t help but wonder where they are. But my current fandom is really nice too… It’s like a family, too… Sometimes.

P: Invent a random AU for any fandom (we always need more ideas).

Lately I’ve been thinking about a Go Ares AU a lot and hamano goes to tengawara for obvious reasons but that’s kinda boring so I gotta think about something more interesting >:3c

Kind of a joke AU, but still:

Have you guys ever heard about ~LA FERIA~? It’s like this weird Spanish thing we have. Everyone dances and sings these lame guitar songs which are mostly like aAAAAaAAAaaaYYYYYYYY @loreprotectionsquad can confirm BUT! that’s not the interesting thing! The interesting thing about Feria is that we basically get a mini amusement park on our town, just because! 

So my brother and I thought about some Go kids there and it just…

Hamano gets Kurama a giant Snake plush and he tries to ride on a… Ride with it and it almost slips out but he clings to it and manages to save it. Hamano thinks it’s adorable. Kurama swears he’ll kill him if he tells someone. Hamano promised Hayami he’d get a plushie for him too, but he is unable (because you can only win one plush per day) so Hayami gets a dolphin plush for him. Imagine Hayami walking around with two overly joyful boyfriends clinging to their giant plushies. Goals.

Kirino and Shindou ride on the ferris wheel which they don’t set up anymore, but still. and Ibuki tries to climb it but fails (?

Shinsuke rides on some dinosaur themed train, and there’s clowns with balloons and stuff you can snatch from them. He gets a plastic axe. Which are super hard to get i need to tell you the story of how i got one when i was like 8. it was so stupid it’s funny He somehow convinces Tsurugi to ride too, while Tenma and Aoi look at them. They have become the ultime balloon snatchers. No one can stop them. Aoi and Tenma are so proud.

Taiyou comes, sees Tenma and waves at him, approaching him. Then all of the sudden, Fuyuka comes rushing after him, and tells Tenma that ‘Taiyou should be in right now, sorry for the inconvenience’ and picks him by the stomach (you know… like a kitten, with her arm around his torso? you get me, right?) while Taiyou tries to escape, but fails.

Kariya and Hikaru try to hide from Hiroto and Midorikawa, who have come with them, but Kariya wants some time alone, while they want to take pics of everything they do, basically.

Something about Yukimura and Fubuki was mentioned, along with Kishibe and Aphrodi, but I don’t remember ;v; Also, Amagi going with Mahoro and Yukie, and all of the third years (Minamisawa as well, for some reason) going together too.

My brother kinda dislikes Galaxy (except Tetsukado, Kusaka and Konoha) so I’ll do their stuff myself.

Minaho and Manabe compete to see who will get more plushies. They only get one keychain working together. They give it to the first team member that they see because they don’t know who should keep it.

But that was after the previously mentioned day, so the Second Year Trio got them plushies instead (they got the hang of one game and they WILL make the most of it. And, they have to help a boyfriend out, right?

So they spend the rest of the festivity together. And they have fun and stuff.

There’s one ride with horses. Konoha spends 98/100 there. Otherwise, she wouldn’t come. It’s so noisy, and crowded…

Kusaka comes and goes to check on her. He can’t ride on most… Rides (this is redundant) anyways. He’s too tall.

Tetsukado and Hamano competed to see who was better at Duck-Fishing. Let’s just say that Shinsuke and Hamano’s boyfriends came home with lots of plushes and prices…

Sakura aced all the games. How did she manage, no one knows (she was, in fact, the first one Minaho and Manabe offered the keychain to. But she rejected it and got two super sparkly keychains for them instead. Minaho and Manabe offered it anyways in exchange but she said that it was nothing and that they should keep the one they got.

Matatagi showed his brothers the place and rode on some rides (seriously how is this so redundant). Eventually they joined the Plushie Fest. Matatagi’s brothers cheered. He, not so much, not when he had to carry around giant plushies for the rest of the day, as his brothers were too busy exploring around.

I think that’s all??? Am I forgetting someone? except zanakurou but i don’t know what to do with him. he dances sevillanas. i don’t know. sorry darling

Oh, yeah, and there’s also this AU my brother and I made in which Kurama is a time traveler and quite literally Hamano and Hayami’s son (he has a big sister named Estrella but that’s for another time) and he has come because their parents were too slow too realize they had feelings for each other and he fears for his existence and his sister’s (???

Q: A ship you’ve abandoned and why.

Can you believe I used to ship Min/////a/kura? But, to be honest, I didn’t know what that was. I just found some comic of them and I thought it was cute. Then I got more into InaEle, and well…

I’m saying that one because I can’t think of anything else XD

R: A pairing you ship that you don’t think anyone else ships.

The Kurama multiship fest, which I will proceed to explain, even though the first one is sorta popular, but still:

Hamano and Hayami, because I saw HamaKura and I thought it was really cute! (when i got used to kurama, at first i didn’t like him but i found hamahayakura and i went ‘eeeeeeeehhh’ but you already know that story) then I thought of HamaHaya + HamaKura and Hayami just got into the package for some reason XD

Hikaru, because I was salty I didn’t ship him with Minamisawa and I wanted to ship him with someone but I didn’t know who, then he had a little scene with Hikaru on the games (when they go look for Shinsuke or something) and a lightbulb light up on my head

Tenma because, honestly, how can you have someone you ship with everyone but not Tenma? Plus it’s cute. 

Tsurugi because I saw somebody posting drawings of them and I went ‘hey they cute’ and that’s all. also the fandom team might or might not had something to do with it

Kariya because they had this scene when they went to China on CS that i don’t even remember but what i do remember is my brother asking me why i wasn’t saying anything about the ship, and i went ‘well, i don’t, BUUUUUUUUUT’ and so it started.

Minaho because, and listen well because this one is weird, I was in class, and I was bored, and I decided to make quadrants for some InaEle characters, I started by Minaho and went ‘huh so, Moirail, Manabe, Matesprit, Manabe, Kismesis, Manab-wait’ so I decided to crack it up a bit and now it was ‘Moirail, Hamano, Matesprit, Manabe’ but I wanted to give him a Kismesis (that could’ve been perfectly Matatagi, but I didn’t think of that because I’m dumb) (also read: a love rivalry more or less) so I gave him Kurama. THEN I played BigBang and they had a small interaction and since back then I couldn’t even read Hiragana I don’t know what they said but Kurama made a sad face afterwards so I take it as I was right

Fei because Kurama learns Bouncer Rabbit on Galaxy (actually the two-people version. He does it with Hamano because I’m obvious) and also Fei stole his number, now Kurama has to steal something back (???

Taiyou because on my CS game Kurama, Taiyou and Hikaru always do hissatsus together on the random thing (that makes also Sakura and Matatagi do Butterfly Dream together all the time for some reason. Which is funny because I lowkey shipped it before starting Galaxy) so I got used to seeing them together.

Ibuki because my brother always calls them losers (he’s a bit mean sometimes, but I love him ;v;) so I started relating them n stuff.

Hakuryuu because my brother and I have this thing called the ‘Spammer Club’ which is for characters that say other character’s name a lot. We have Hakuryuu (who we jokingly call churugispammer) Miyasaka, Ibuki, Hakuryuu and Kurama got in too for some reason. So yeah. It happened. N stuff.

Also I brotp him with Kinako, but I brotp Kinako with everyone.

S: What’s a headcanon you have?

Hmm… I headcanon that out of the Second Year Trio, only Hamano has siblings (2 sisters, him being the middle sib- and no that’s not me self projecting ok) 

Hayami has mentioned more than once on the games that he wants to be a scientist, and I headcanon that it’s because his mother is! Which also means she’s super busy most of the time. So Hayami is quite dependent, but he can’t cook for his life. Hamano is surprisingly okay at cooking, and he’s learning to bake.

Also, Hayami really likes penguins for some reason.

✧ WHAT’S YOUR OTP FOR YOUR MUSE?

For my muse, my OTP is AUT/HUN and PRU/HUN. I got into this fandom because of PRU/HUN, so it will always have a special place in my heart. US/HUN also has a special place in my heart.

✧ WHAT ARE YOU WILLING TO RP WHEN IT COMES TO SHIPPING? Just about everything, really. Although, if another muse develops a crush on mine, please come talk to me and we can figure out what kind of rps we can have (one-sided, mutual pining, etc.). I tend to be a single-ship blog unless it’s an AU universe. I currently only have a The Walking Dead (v: apocalypse nah) for AU verses, but I am open to discussing others.

✧ HOW LARGE DOES THE AGE GAP HAVE TO BE TO MAKE IT UNCOMFORTABLE? My muse is technically 1,000+ years old and looks like she’s in her early thirties. With this fandom, it’s hard to have an age gap that is uncomfortable. Obviously, if you are playing a canon character that is coded as a child or teen, I will not ship with you. But, if you are playing a character that is your own OC of the same character (i.e., Liechtenstein) but you headcanon them to be older, that it’s fine unless you use icons of teens or kids. Age appropriate icons are a must.

Otherwise, I think anything over a 25+ age gap may bug me. 

✧ ARE YOU SELECTIVE WHEN SHIPPING? Semi-selective. I like for the characters to have chemistry and not just ship them because both of the muns are bored. I am not huge into shipping without giving a thought to how your muse and the muse would be compatible together.  ✧ WHO ARE OTHER MUSES YOU SHIP YOUR MUSE WITH? There’s obviously Roderich (@dasrosenschwert). But, there aren’t others that I ship Erzsi with. I am just coming back on the scene, so that may change, but for right now I love the angst dynamic between Rodi and Erzsi.

✧ DOES ONE HAVE TO ASK TO SHIP WITH YOU? Yes, please. Erzsi is a little aloof when it comes to people having a crush on her, so reaching out to me is key to see if she has feelings for your muse. She’s a very private person when it comes to her feelings and it takes a while for her to open up. If you are looking to ship, expect a bit of a slow burn.

✧ HOW OFTEN DO YOU LIKE TO SHIP? When there’s chemistry. Tbh, I am here to have fun. I was in this fandom when shipping was the only thing and it got boring quickly.

✧ ARE YOU SHIP OBSESSED OR SHIP MORE-OR-LESS? Neither. Again, it’s all about chemistry for me. 

✧ ARE YOU MULTISHIP? For AUs, yes. I haven’t really had a chance to try it out and would discuss it with my main RP partner first,

Beyond that, I like watching others interact on the dash and seeing what is being shipped. Other RPers are amazing and the relationships I see aren’t ones that are even thought of in canon.

✧ FINALLY, HOW DOES ONE SHIP WITH YOU? Chemistry and our muses interacting more than a few times. Talking to me about it and seeing if our muses are compatible.
