Elise "Ew, Hunt. Your drool is like glue!" No matter what Daph says, Amy should've told me. But... ugh, it's so like Amy. She speaks when she's not supposed to and doesn't say a thing when she should...

Esther "-just checking in. Remember how I said you can call anytime?"
Elise "...Y-yes. Sorry."
Esther "But you must've been busy. I heard you have a TV blog, now!"
Elise "Um. You did..?"
Esther "The editor happens to be a close friend of mine. Mark my words, you will be a proper cultural correspondent in no time."
Tumblr media
Elise "But... I-I like writing a TV blog."
Esther "That kind of attitude gets you nowhere, Elise. Never give up on pushing forward! You could be writing reviews of grand concerts instead of silly TV series."
Tumblr media
Elise "I-I don't know anything about music..."
Esther "That's a shame. Tristan's always loved music."
Elise ". . ."

Lydia "Oh... hello, Esther."
Esther "Good day, Lydia. I just stopped by on my way to work."
Elise "...Hi, mommy."
Tumblr media
Elise Should I write about music, then...? But they said at work that my blog has gotten a good start...
Uh, at least Amy's easier to understand than Tristan's mom. I think she tries to be nice, but... I'm glad Tristan isn't like her at all.

What great questions!
I'm a writer so I usually create an all new character, every time. I feel strange about self-inserts. Not sure why! It might have something to do with falling for fictional LIs... lol. Perhaps I feel I that a self-insert would be a step too far. That said, my characters do tend to retain some aspects of my personality: I can never resist the sarcastic responses (except in Perfect Match).
On the game, I play first, then figure out a name and replay the first two chapters with that name. If it doesn't feel right I'll replay the first chapter until it does. Usually I come up with their names on a whim and they just stick. I love character creation so i can get a little obsessive over it on a new book sometimes. I also play on 2 devices.
Here are some of my characters:
Perfect Match: this is my latest character. Her name is Hetty and she's a twee little cinnamon bun. She believes in magic, fairies, the Secret and the power of True Love. She is a total Romantic Idealist. She feels quite a bit younger than Damien and Nadia, but that may be because of the hair/face combo I picked.
On the other hand, we have my TRR MCs: Pixie & Lilly. Pixie is the younger sister of the LH MC, Coco. They were born in Westchester, OR... but their parents died mysteriously when they were young, so they were raised by their eccentric aunt. She always said that Pixie would end up a Queen, Pixie lived in Queens.
Lilly is device 2 TRR MC. She's poor and can't afford dresses or pretty things. She's been living on the streets since she was 14, hopping trains and hitchhiking all over the country, a street-smart traveller who knows a good thing when she sees it. When the guys met her, she was working in a dive bar for the winter, and living in a squat. She's no innocent, but she's no fool either.
How do you play choices?
I’m so curious. Do you self-insert (MC has your name, resembles as closely as possible to you/who you want to look like) OR do you create characters?
And even further if you wanna, what makes doing that so enjoyable? What part of that aspect draws you to the game?
And I might as well ask, if you play as yourself, do you make choices based on what you’d choose presently in your personality, or do you choose based on who you would like to be?
And ok, last one, I HOPE. If you create characters, what is your process? Do you create them as you go, or do you plan them?
I’m so intrigued with this! If you want to answer, reblog/reply with your response OR you can message me! I’d love to read about it!
