First. The batter itself went terribly bc the recipe was like nah dawg don't use two bowls, use one it's fine. Just make a well in the middle and pour the liquids there.

But the liquids over flowed the well so I was like oh god maybe I didn't have enough flour???#!#? So I poured more flour . But then it got very lumpy and I was like oh no maybe I put too much flour. So then I put more milk. I could not decide in the end which one I needed more of

But it's fine. We got to a consistency that was... okayish

I then put butter on the pan, as u do. But the butter did not work. So the pancake stuck. And I also flipped it too early but committed. This was a mistake.

Attempt number one has never gone so terribly in my life

I thought about how it's tradition to give your dog the first pancake bc they are normally bad but I was like "Is this?? Is this cruel even for the dog??" So I asked my stepmom and she said to not feed it to the dog so o7

She then informed me to use oil instead of butter and WOO it did work better however . I still flipped the second one too early bc it had felt more solid but ig not solid enough

BUT FINALLY!!! THE THIRD ONE!!! REJOICE!!!! IT ACTUALLY LOOKED LIKE A PROPER PANCAKE (I added more milk and it helped)

Twenty minutes later I have finished them and they look scuffed but y'know edible

(Apparently not everyone does this, but my family's always put them in the oven to continue cooking just in case they're undercooked Also to keep warm while u cook the rest)

I put butter and maple syrup and I get ready to finally eat it and

It's not cooked

It is soft and mushy and OUGH not good

I try a second one and that ones cooked so REJOICEEE it actually tastes really good

I try a third and it's also uncooked

I attempt to raise the temp in the oven to finish it off and . I think it's cooked by the time I finish but. I have now lost all appetite and feel sick at the idea of eating pancakes after one too many tries 😭😭😭😭

day in the life:

monday !!

at home; right now i’m just waiting on my mom to be done getting ready. my outfit is really cute today !! i have a pink shirt, navy skirt, white socks, and doc martins. my mom bought me a fidget ring yesterday and it honestly has helped a lot since then. i have costume design, acting 1, algebra, and voice & movement today. honestly my only class that will probably be an issue is voice and movement cause i’m wearing a skirt… i’m sure it’ll be okay. maybe i should bring pants lol. i also got a new phone case !! it’s so cute i love it, it has a shark on it !! something abt me is i love sharks with my entire heart. they are my favorite animal ever ever ever !! i’m gonna try to get a marine biology internship/college credit this summer. although i do want to be an actress my “fall back” is marine biology. i’ve always been interested in it and it’s always been my second choice right next to acting. my school opens at 7:20 am and classes start at 8:25 and i still haven’t left my house lol. it’s 7:55. but i’m also usually always almost late but i never am because i never he caught by the teachers on tardy patrol. lucky me !! i’ve been listening to katrina stuart non stop recently, her music rlly making me feel some type of way.

in the car; finally driving to school !! i just put on lipgloss which is hello kitty, so cute. found out my first rehearsal for districts is tmr during lunch & learn.. problem is is that i have to make up a science quiz. i’m going to try and do both. okay update: turns out i cannot do both because science isn’t open tuesday for lunch & learn. that’s kinda stupid tbh. but yk teachers gotta eat too ig. so i get to go to rehearsal !! last year i didn’t even have a chance at districts because i was new so i’m very happy it’s student directed for hs, and one my my friends is directing. i can admit, he can be a little mean so i’m a little scared to get yelled at if he gets pissed or smth but i think it will be okay.

costume design; now i’m in tech “costume design”. freshmen have to take this class but it’s rlly fun. and my man is in it. i’ve alr seen him looking at me once so yay. 2 of my bsfs are in this class too and we’re making little animal stuffed animals. nothing else is rlly happening but i’ll update if something interesting happens !!

lunch & learn; LOL i was doing things ALLLL of acting 1 so i couldn’t write, sry abt that. but now i’m helping my friend lexi with her districts number. she’s doing a group MT number to “what i was born to do” from bring it on the musical. it’s so good, everyone is so talented !! lexi is such a good singer, can u believe she isn’t in MT?? she’s in PT with me, i think that’s crazy. she deserves MT !! last year i gave the guy i liked a cookie everyday so i’m gonna try and do that again today, hopefully it doesn’t come off weird..

going home; i did not fill in anything for my last period but it was okayish. i did give him the cookie and he said “ur so sweet.” so that’s nice. but now i’m starting to think he’s not interested in me or smth like that.. or he thinks i’m annoying. i’m probably overreacting but he said “it’s fine” instead of “it’s okay”. it felt passive aggressive. but also that’s just how he talks irl so i have no clue. i’m probably overreacting tbh.

I think I said it's like lowkey sitcom-ish for a good part of it cuz it's just like. Slice of life stuff with how hwa and ys show up. And it stays like that for a good while until other stuff starts happening but whatever

I think a good way to section it would be like. Pre-story stuff. Pre-monster stuff and post-monster stuff

Idea 1 (+1/2)

This is like really simple and not rlly that deep (until idk what happens in post-monster stuff) but a bit after ys starts getting assimilated more into like this new environment he's in he ends up like seeing this girl (6) and it's kind of like. Idk lowkey I guess? On his part until suddenly one day he brings her home to hang out (/ he's alr there w her and sc+jhn show up) and sc + jhn are like um who is she. And he's like my gf 🥳 and the other 2 r like 💀💀 oh ok thats cool come in. Cz like 1) they didnt have any idea of whats up 2) they realize just how parenty theyve become w him. But it's cool they end up being chill w her cuz theyre both like weird and at least he somehow scored a super nice girl who rlly matches w him

I also had a funny idea of sc seeing her (be it in that same situation or another instance) and realizing she's wearing one of his shirts/hoodies and being like 💀💀💀 internally. Which comes from me playing around with the possibility of ys sometimes stealing (or maybe even being passed down) sc / jhn's clothes

Idea 2 (+1/2)

This one has like a lot more what ifs/choices I have to make but basically it involves how sc + yh + jh are related and their [current] dynamics

Sc is yh's older brother and they lived together w their parents until around when sc was done w highschool. Jh is their younger cousin who had to move around houses following different like. Problems n stuff that happened (I haven't rlly decided on what they were specifically but yk)

Anyway so when jh was young smth happened w his parents so they weren't rlly in the picture anymore (not necessarily death) and he ended up living with yh + sc for a bit. It was kind of whatever but a little awkward cuz of what happened + they're like oh we have to pay a bit more attention to him since he's hard of hearing and younger.

But then like smth Else happens* and jh ends up having to move out and he goes with like. Their grandparents or something. And at this point sc had recently(?) moved out so it's just yh now

*I'm pondering having it be partly something to do with yh or like his kinda jealously towards jh (and sc being out of the house now) but idk. Also some kinda problem just like generally w his parents idk if it'll be related to jh or not

Anyway that's why yh kinda started drifting apart from his family (aside from jh) and why they r like that. Idk

^as for jh now (idea 1/2) he's living w his grandparents which is like. Not the best?? Ig? But it could be worse. I'm still kinda deciding on how they are w him but I do think they'd be the type to kinda undermine/baby him cuz he's disabled. Idk maybe they bring him to church or to hangouts w their old people friends. It's okayish for him cuz he gets work out of it (walking the dogs of those same friends / mowing their lawns etc) so whatever. That's why I mentioned he gets out of the house so much lol 😭

Idk how this affects the idea I had for him being the designated driver of his friend group (will he even be bought a car or offered lessons?) but whatever that's for another day

Tbh like outside my own head this doesn't sound very fun or silly like I'm planning on having it be but I'll include it cuz I need to get over fear lol

Anyway originally I was planning on having it be a kinda like cheatingish thing where one of them starts talking to this girl and then the other Also finds a date a bit afterwards only for them to realize theyve been w the same girl the whole time and they're like 😬 damn. We're still cool right. 🤪 And that's it and they like have fun on their own like #best friends

But yk idk I think I could rework it somehow. Maybe it was less cheating and more "never rlly talked about terms or if they were rlly dating fr or anything" kinda thing. Or its a miscommunication episode wowwww everyones favorite trope ever. They think they're being cheated on but no they're both dating a twin wowww. Idk. Anyway again disclaimer this isn't supposed to be super tragic or life ruining it's just an awkward event that happens within like. A week or two at most

One of them is like tbh just a copy of that deaf girl from andi mack except like. Obv more my kinda style I guess? Idrk when she would pop up other than maybe poking fun at like some guy (maybe woo Lol) in asl with jh or something. But she might exist. She's cute she's kind (mostly) she's cool

The other one is Another disabled girl (though I haven't thought far enough to say what specifically she has) but she's more like. Idk extroverted or outdoorsy to match that aspect of jh. They're kinda just like passing friends rather than being ppl who like. Hang out after school or something. Maybe she's on some kinda sports team or smth. Tbh this has like potential for her to be somehow connected to sgf too but idk

This is like rllyyyyy undecided moreso than the other stuff and it's more like. Finding out hwa and ys are experiments who were either let out of or escaped from their lab or wtv. Idrk how it happens but at some point maybe ys goes crazy mode and starts destroying everything in one of the main gangs houses so everyone's like freaking out and then maybe once (somehow) everythings calm again there's this like knock at the door and jh opens it a little bit and its very lilo n stitch / that one movie with ramona flowers like Um Yeah We're Here To Pick Up These Guys and jhs like 😐 dang thats funny they just left (camera pan to ys and hwa jumping out a window)

There's also a separate bit very similar to this Before that happens where jh's just like on the street walking his dog or something and some guys come up to him like hey we're looking for these guys do u by any chance have a connection to them or something. And he's like 🫤 no sir can't say that I do. Have a good day. And he walks away. This is rlly awesome to me personally so don't be surprised if I make this a reoccurring thing.

Just wanted to make disclaimer that despite my silly thing of "quiet workaholic person and their weirdo cute friend" with jh/ys + sg/sgf isn't meant to be like a 100% genderbending kinda thing nor does that mean that ys would be super besties with sgf / sgf would get along with jh / etc I'm making this more ig realistic than that lol 😭

Cleo - drives like a maniac. i would not be able to tell you what it looks like, because it’s a bit mishmashed and wrecked in spots. she says she doesn’t know anything about cars, which is questionably true. however she always manages to fix her car and keep it going, even if it gives her a cartoon like electric shock. that is just how it be

Stress - the designated driver, probably has a big honda or something. has mints and candy in the glovebox, will give some to you if you don’t say anything when she speeds a bit. she will turn the car around if she thinks you’re acting up

false - good driver, questionable car. second hand ute, makes clunk noises sometimes. she’ll get it serviced… eventually

joe - uses others cars and is pretty safe about it. he might accidentally hit something but that’s nothing in comparison to how some others drive. he puts up those scented things in cleos car, a little treat for his zombie bestie

pearl - has a ute, drives exactly how you would expect an australian to drive. she “knows a shortcut”… it might be a bit longer. has to use 3phase ti get her car to work properly. the aircon system is partially broken but it’s working okayish for now

bdubs - has a minecart. litterally just a minecart. yes it goes off the tracks. it’s extremely fast.

the main issue i had with it was why literally nobody was talking about diplomacy like that was not the whole point of the drama but instead of resolving the conflict directly isayama wanted to imply that peace is achievable so the alliance are delegates who’ll try to reach a middle ground and will probably reach it and in case they cant they have sufficient military back up to resort to (altho the conch symbolism ie armin w the conch hint towards a peace ending bc conches signify peace) nice subversion of the code geass ending here ig. but anyways stuff like making eren dodge every specific question w idk/blank canvas/time non linear/only ymir knows is just SO RIDICULOUS its like yams is openly admitting he doesnt know why he opened so many plot points either its on an entity who went poof v conveniently at a crucial juncture. also there is a fine line bw irony and absolute inconsistency but yams alr crossed that line aplenty with eren so i dint expect him to do much justice to his character either way </3 and the absolute bs w ymir and karl fritz??? im looking away. anyways good things abt this ending—conceivable peace in the future, doing away with titan powers, cute Levi panel w gabi and falco, cute panels of everyone else, the birb thing is somewhere bw cute and ridiculous (idk just felt a little excessive) so basically the point abt beauty and cruelty existing parallely in the world is driven home. but plot, motifs and themes (certain ones yams didnt do justice to several other themes he touched upon/directly introduced, mostly via eren) alone dont make a story, characters are an integral part of any story and messing up character arcs (esp the mc’s!!???!) is imo pretty poor story telling. its like he intended snk to be a greek tragedy/perhaps a tragi–comedy or smth in between but uh the only tragedy here is poor handling of the narrative. if we were to see eren as someone who’s so broken and unhinged that hed literally wipe out 80 percent of the world simply bc he wanted to see a blank canvas (?) and bc he wanted his friends to be deemed as heroes then what was the point of presenting the narrative in a way that eren was the one constantly advocating for freedom and acknowledging everyone being special bc they were born into this world (not just his friends) not to mention his own suffering and grievances (which are all reduced to a joke now) like do not build a character up as an anti hero only to make him an anti villain in the end??? its not ironical or a grand reversal its just character assassination 😭

To briefly summarize, iranon believes that Dudley should've been the protagonist of Harry Potter, because "cruel and vicious tantrum-throwers are INTERESTING, while good people doing good things is BORING". So he (and the rest of Fandom Subculture) makes moral judgments based on what they personally find interesting.

(part 2 of 2) And that wouldn't be too bad by itself. But people like this believe "I am the only person with taste, my way of doing this is Objectively Good Writing That All Media Must Follow." In other words, people like this essentially believe, "Wouldn't it be so much more interesting if the people who collectively fucked up your adolescence and twenties got to be the Focus Of Every Narrative"? So that's where the Chloe fans came from, where the Bakugo fans came from, etc. Now we know.

I read this ask and was between “no that’s gotta be a fake post thats crazy” and “that’s exactly the kind of hot take I would find on Tumblr” so I went to check and found it pretty easily (I won’t link it the bc I think the author wouldn’t like it). The post is really… something. Like, I get what the author wants: he wants a book about an awful, spoiled person being thrust into an environment of people he’s completely hateful of and through that learning how to be a decent person.

That honestly sounds awful to me. Power to op for enjoying this type of stuff, but @/theevenprime (again, not tagging bc I don’t think they would like it) in the notes says everything (you should check out their reblog): what if we take the person that desperately needs so much attention that they make the very environment they’re in a living hell and make them the protagonist? Just so what, we can see them becoming an okayish person? At the cost of everyone else getting treated horribly simply because they exist? That’s not a narrative that interests me and a lot of people in the notes feel the same.

Like, I don’t care about HP anymore, I’m done with it. But they really act like a character being “A good person that does good things” is the epitome of boredom and that’s just sad. Being a good person doesn ‘t mean not being a complex person, being good in a cruel world is hard and takes a lot of work. In ML, Marinette is a good person with flaws, sometimes she does bad stuff and sometimes she’s petty and angry and sometimes she doesn’t even apologize or regret the bad stuff she does, but she’s still a good person and most people that watch the show can agree with that. She’s not a static character just because she’s already a good person.

Redemption arcs are fine and there’s nothing wrong with a main character having one and starting out as horrible, but that’s not objectively the best story to tell. I’m sure there’s a lot of people that think Chloé would be a better main character than Marinette and power to them ig. A lot of B/akugou stans do think he should be the protagonist because Izuku is too “nice” and “boring” and I Am Looking Away Respectfully. If you like mean characters becoming better, okay, but just don’t write off characters that are Good People who do Good Stuff.
