i also like the idea that the merchant is usually singing when hes not selling things. like random strange songs either no ones heard before or no one has heard for hundreds of years. and you can usually HEAR him nearby is how you know youre close to the merchant, like in botw when youre adventuring and suddenly hear cass's music in the distance
#several times mochi and lime walking to school and she suddenly stops and goes (shushsuh do you hear that??)#and after a pause starts running in the direction of the distinct voice of rhe merchant#hes not like. an especially good singee but is passable and confident#like sailor voices#continues his song right where it left off after packing up shop#he sings like. sea shantys but its land /normal things instead of ocean things#no instruments just voice
