i think limes magic res would ironically make him the protagonist of any kind of shenanigans that involved a magic world transformation. like if they get locked in a magic house and everything inside turns into an adventure land and everyone turns into little toys or something, mochi included, except lime with his ridiculous resistance while the bad guy (??) stands there scratching his head wondering why lime didnt get shoved into the little fun world

What do you think about link and Zeldaā€™s characters?
I wonder if this is specifically Zelda and Link from the Wild Eraā€” Iā€™ll assume so since it is the newest era and I have been primarily focused on Wild Era games recently.
Iā€™ll start with Zeldaā€™s character firstā€” to put it plainly, I love her as a character. She grows and develops despite witnessing literal tragedies and shouldering the weight of a kingdom from birth. Her duty was set forth the moment the prophecy came to light and she was put at a disadvantage when her mother died.
If we remember, Zelda didnā€™t cry at her motherā€™s funeral. We know from the game that Zelda is quite an emotional character, so her putting on a front of placing so much on herself at such a young age is something that breaks my heart. But to see how she grows as a person, how she overcomes that emotional blockage through sheer love, how she handles the wreckage of the Calamity, how she develops as a leader, to finally how she becomes a Queen is by far the most powerful and beautiful Zelda character arc in the series. She is so beloved in my heart that I cannot formulate the words to describe those emotions, though I desperately try.
There is no Zelda in the entire series that I adore and cherish more than her (and Iā€™ve played nearly all the games). Sheā€™s on another level of development and complexity that it truly hurts to see people completely warp her personality and her actions to justify a false narrative.
Her character is incredibly strong, not just magically, but in terms of actual character design, development, and the execution of her story. She has her flaws, and we actively see her work on them and course correct when she can. That is something so mature and important (and I donā€™t think people give her enough credit for that). I genuinely donā€™t have many critiques of her character, as I was genuinely happy with her through the entirety of the story.
Link on the other handā€¦ I do love him. I do. Link is a strong character physically, but his development is incredibly scarce compared to Zelda. His character suffers from Nintendoā€™s choice to essentially make Link a ā€˜link to the playerā€™ rather than his own person. With a story that incites powerful emotional responses when players cannot refuse that Zelda and Link 1) are incredibly close/bonded, probably lowkey codependent 2) have not left each otherā€™s side since they were reunited and finally that they are 3) probably romantically involved, or something akin to transcending just a simple friendship, itā€™s difficult to ensure that experience when all of that is lost on those who decide that it isnā€™t true.
Mind you, everything I listed above are simple and straightforward interpretations of in-game evidence. And we do see a lot more from Linkā€™s character this game with small gasps and micro expressions (that should NOT be ignored). But for those who do not agree with the above, itā€™s likely they disliked the story. Thatā€™s okay, not everyone will like the story. But a lot of it stems from this vagueness Nintendo established for Linkā€™s character.
He was a kid beating soldiers in the guard, trained in Zoraā€™s Domain, continued training, got the Master Sword when he was a preteen, had the weight of a prophecy placed on him as the first piece besides Zelda, and then became a Champion and Zeldaā€™s Knight Attended by the age of 16/17. Homeboy did have a lot of trauma and stress at an early age that did cause selective muteness and for him to create this stoic mask. We see that he is much less stoic and more talkative after the Calamity and after, but itā€™s all relative to what the player wants/feels. Sometimes that contradicts what the story itself implies/tells players.
Link isā€¦ wasted potential as a character. He could have 100% been more than what we were given to see. I have crafted my own version of him that to me, is as close as canon as I could get, but that wonā€™t be the same for anyone else. Link is precisely what Nintendo wanted him to be and he serves that purpose perfectly.
And it works, but it could have been executed a bit better by confirming things regarding his character rather than leaving breadcrumbs for players to follow if they decided to.
So yeah. Zelda is amazing and I love her. Link could have been executed better but for what we got, I still love him too and extracted enough to formulate as close to canon interpretation without being overly biased (at least I tried).

Hold on, let me compile these latest ToTK asks.
Though, beforehand, let me just say: Anon, you can't just give me a perfect fic description like that and not drop the title!
Anonymous asked: So I don't care for canon Yona, Nintendo writers kinda shit the bed with her feeling really lacklustre. But fanfic Yona? I'm not someone who goes "FANFIC WRITERS ARE BETTER!" Not at all, but I have to give it to the fanfic-writers this time, they took a big nothing burger, and actually gave her some depth. One fic has the Zora not understanding "love" in the same way Hylians do, but more as a general feeling of belonging with someone, and you kinda have that lowkey drama with SidLink, and Yona is the girl who comes through, and she and Sidon research the Hylian concept of love, and it was honestly kinda fun, especially when Sidon "realises" that what he's feeling for Link is the Hylian concept of love. I also have a friend who's planning out a fic idea with šŸ‘‘-Yona following along Link and Zelda post-Totk, who then starts feeling a kindred spirit with Zelda in friendship, and gets better acquainted with Link, and it focuses on Yona, and her relationship with the Z, L, S and M. Anonymous asked: I don't get why ppl hate Yona. I mean, not happy about it either, but that has less to do with her being Sidon's partner, and more with the fact that I don't like her design. I honestly feel more miffed about how fucking dirty they did Sidon's character this time around. I have no idea who was snoozing while doing Sidon, but he has like no personality? I thought we'd finally get some Sidon focus in the temple and then he fucking bails. I don't even remember a proper cutscene like with the others
Anon 1: It all ties back to how earlier I was saying that I just don't like her execution (and, as Anon 2 mentioned, her design). Because for as much as the people defending the Zora's Domain writing as 'well, she's new so of course she doesn't have much character', there are so many ways that they could have endeared the player to her.
Have a minor escort mission to gather ingredients for her to heal the other Zora with, with Yona stopping every so often to ask Link endearing questions. Have a fetch-quest that combines how they handled the Zora Armor (Yona needing an ancient fish from the sky islands to finish it) with Link having to go into Yona's room to retrieve another component and, while you're there, there's a journal that Yona's been keeping where she could be laying out her anxieties about being the best match for Sidon, about trying to be a good Queen to follow the example that Mipha would have been, to be as much of a support to Sidon and the Domain as Link has been.
Just... Something more than what we got.
Also, again, you have to send me that fic title. Because I have been dreading going onto the SidLink portion of AO3 since ToTK came out.
Anon 2:
Tumblr media
Who was responsible for the Zora's Domain portion of this game? I want NAMES!
Because, how is it that every other Sage (at least so far, I haven't done the Gerudo portion of the game yet) is an active companion on the journey to the Temples, giving you the opportunity to get used to their mechanics and their special ability... But with Sidon, you get a 'boss fight' against a Like-Like and then he fucking dips until you get to the Water Temple.
Why?
Like, let's put aside the butchering of his personality (even though, as I mentioned before, I know what the writers were trying to do in having his trauma being the last hurdle to overcome before becoming king, but it is not fun), but Sidon just is not enjoyable anymore. His character and personality peaked in Age of Calamity.
How does such a major character have better writing in the fucking Musou spin-off game?!

post-botw headcanons
i am just rambling under the cut. there is so much.
FIRST OFF: i feel like link will be more lighthearted, now? meanwhile zelda is incredibly serious. i feel this way because link has lowkey been alive for like... months? generally? it depends? more or less? and that whole time has been just. relearning/remembering his best friend and wanting her to be safe and doing everything in hopes of getting to her and hearing her and all that, the WHOLE TIME, and NOW... sheā€™s safe!! and alive!! and physically with him!! and they just defeated a giant disgusting screaming glob of hate and LIVED! and now itā€™s over! finally holy fuck!! meanwhile zelda is seeing all of the destruction of her kingdom at once again. um so i feel like at least for a while heā€™d be like... Let me show you around! Let me show you my friends! Check out all of these Koroks! Meet Sidon! Come see Terry Town!! Itā€™s all beautiful!! and sheā€™s likeĀ ā€œomg yes yes... ok ok real quick...ā€ and heā€™d be like Look guys isnā€™t she beautiful!! and sheā€™s likeĀ ā€œOKOK *GRABS HIS HANDS* ALRIGHHTā€ anyway yeah
i want zelda to live with link in hateno village. okay?? OKAY??? where else is she going to go. and listen she would LOVE that freedom, at least i imagine she should. she wears linkā€™s old hylian clothes as pajamas and sleeps in his bed while he sleeps on the floor (his decision) until he convinces bolson to make him a bed. and bolsonā€™s like YOU FOUND THE ONE??? OF COURSE I WILL SUPPORT TRUE LOVE and linkā€™s like N- Um nono Uh- and bolsonā€™s like I KNOW IT WHEN I SEE IT LETā€™S GO KARSONĀ
zelda cannot sleep. she always wakes up in the middle of the night and either goes downstairs and covers the dining table with books and wakes link up with her light/her talking to herself. and linkā€™s like Hewwo? and sheā€™s likeĀ ā€œim sorry go back to sleep!!ā€ Or she leaves at night because she wants to go for a walk and clear her head. and at first link was like. worried and looking for her and then just waited outside all night for her to come home. sheā€™s likeĀ ā€œdonā€™t wait for me. i am a grown woman i can be out on my own, its the safest its ever beenā€ and hes like. MMMMMMm and then respects her and stays home n just worries about her when he tries to sleep
zelda cut her OWN hair. chopped it off. link sees it the next day or something and she doesnā€™t bring it up sheā€™s just likeĀ ā€œyou ready to start the day??ā€ and heā€™s like ... :-) Yes.
OK. BIG ONE. LINK TRAINS HER. FOR SURE. OK?? sheā€™s likeĀ ā€œlink my powers are growing weaker and iā€™ve never been able to rely on them, PLS train me.ā€ and heā€™s like You sure?? and sheā€™s ilkeĀ ā€œYes.ā€ and heā€™s like OK!! and then they start training together every morning. she sets up the schedule likeĀ ā€œok weā€™re gonna get up at 6am and run and then do sword practice for this long and bow practice for this long and blah blah blahā€ and heā€™s like Oh god. Okay. sheā€™s very bad at first. sheā€™s likeĀ ā€œit canā€™t be that hard, i suppose weā€™ll have to spend a month or so on each weapon before i can be confident....ā€ and then the swords are heavy and the bows are tight and sheā€™s like DAMN IT and gets very frustrated. throws the bow on the ground and goes inside and link gives her space n stays outside. but she slowly gets better and training is a Huge bonding thing for them and itā€™s great. and she gets more confident because having that Physical Power that she can rely on is SO much better to her than her other power. so sheā€™s happier and stronger and healthier and more playful and relaxed and itā€™s great (this is an advertisement for working out)
ok thatā€™s the main stuff. now i will go into more specific, silly stuff.Ā
they eat dinner together when they can. they eat at the dinner table and link LOVES seeing her on the other side and glowing while she eats and heā€™s like :-) <3 and also, since he uses his hands, it doesnā€™t matter HOW MUCH food is shoved in his mouth, he can always speak and he gets hyped up and silly with her so heā€™s like SIGNSIGNSIGNSIGN and sheā€™s like HAHAHASLOW DOWN (good happy times.)
the children LOOOOVE ZELDA. sheā€™s a PRINCESS!! she sits and tells them stories and they follow her around and the girls want to be with her all the time. sheā€™s nervous around kids though and is unsure of the attention, especially at first, so sheā€™s like UHH HAHA YESYES... UM GO PLAY WITH LINK... OK... but eventually sheā€™s like... i have the power to give these kids the childhood i never had .... and then starts doing her best to give them attention and show them love LINK is GREAT with the kids. all the kids love link too for different reasons he runs around and plays tag with them and watches them cook and cheers them on and gives them piggy back rides. i have an image of him with a blue flame (if youā€™ve never gone through town with a blue torch in hand then please do) and theres a kid on his shoulder and one clinging to his leg and two jumping at his feet. very cute. and he loves them, he loves making them laugh and teaching them sign and hearing their stories and all that. i think itā€™s classic for links to be good with kids.
i want them to be able to travel from shrine to shrine while holding hands or something. and he does it with her without thinking... grabs her hand and pulls out the sheikah slate like Why Walk? and sheā€™s likeĀ ā€œhuh? HUH???ā€ and they show up at another shrine and sheā€™s like WHAT??? WHAT. WHAT and then researches it forever
also i imagine him being bad at spelling (of course) and i also headcanon that he doesnā€™t speak So. i imagine that like... ok. for example:
zelda: ā€œdid you see anything? before you.. died?ā€ link: I canā€™t remember... zelda:Ā ā€œoh iā€™m sorry i donā€™t know that sign...ā€ link: ! R-E-M-B-E-R zelda: ............R-E-M-E-M-B-E-R....? link: No, like... *imitates remembering* Remember. R-E-M-B-E-R. zelda: .........ā€link i think you mean reMEMber?ā€ link: ? .......................Oh god OK i think thatā€™s all iā€™ve got right now. lol. if you read this then thank you

Hyrule Warriors headcanons
General HC:
Takes place between Twilight Princess and OoT. The reason Lana knows of the Twilight Princess story when it hasnā€™t happened yet is because she can glance at the future and the past alike because MAGIC.
The reason they can talk to each other while battling in extreme opposites of the battlefield or the sort is fairy magic, a spell that binds the members of the team and also lets them know when one of them is in danger or hurt. The same magic allows them to communicate with the opposing side if they wish to.
Cia and then Ganondorf made use of a dark magic brand of the same spell for their purposes.
The OoT scenarios take place somewhere along the seven years before Link awoke. The Skyloft scenario takes place centuries before the actual Skyward Sword story happens, on the early days of Skyloft, and the Twilight Princess scenario is an alternate timeline. The Wind Waker one takes place AFTER Wind Waker but before Phantom Hourglass.
Darunia only met the fake Zelda because he thought it was the long-lost princess of his time but it took just one look to know (Even if it HAD been the actual Zelda) that she was too old to be that child that fled Hyrule Castle Town less than seven years before.
Cia/Lanaā€™s tribe where the ones to make the Ocarina of Time, Door of Time, Pedestal of time, Spiritual stones and the such.
When Ganondorf is walking down Ciaā€™s castle and sees the statues and paintings of the different Links in history, he is legitimately creeped out in a way he wouldnā€™t have thought possible and from then on he canā€™t even look at Cia in the face without getting a shudder.
Linkle became Impaā€™s honorary little sister after the end of her quest.
Link HC
Link is non-verbal
When in council Ā and sometimes during campaigns, he signs at Proxi and then she translates what heā€™s saying to the rest..Ā
No one in the gang ever questions it. Ever. They all just accept it.
If anyoneā€™s a jerk about it, Impa takes action either verbally or straight up punching them in the face if theyā€™re VERY rude.
He and Linkle are cousins. Linkleā€™s compass actually IS a relic for the hero but their grandma gave it to Linkle because ā€œHey, Link already got the triforce mark, mah gurlā€™s going to get the compass, IDGAFā€.
Despite Impaā€™s distrust of Sheik before she learned the truth, Link did trust them from the start. Either because he wasnā€™t aware of everything that didnā€™t click in their story or because he instinctively felt they were there to help.
The scene in the courtyard was not the first time he saw Zelda, but it wasĀ the first time she saw him. Aditionally, the first time their eyes met.
Heā€™d been lowkey crushing on her for a while but covinced himself that it was just the normal veneration one has for an ideal, as would be fitting for a soldier.
Zelda HC
She was basically the Queen by the time the War started but people were still calling her Princess out of habit and she never corrected them because, well, theyā€™ll probably grow out of it right?
The Royal family was part of the Sheikah Tribe since the days of OoT Zelda, where the princess at the time was accepted as part of the tribe officialy.
As such, OoT Zelda had scrolls and books about the Tribe, itā€™s techniques, itā€™s history and culture, which were still in the royal library after all those years. HW Zelda found them as a child and trained and learned all she could on the topic.Ā
She also found the Goddess Harp, but no registry remained of why it was called that and she only knew it as the harp of her ancestor.
The story of how OoT Zelda evaded Ganondorf from years and aided the Hero of Time is kept a secret from everyone outside the Royal Family; but itā€™s what gave her the idea of Sheik when things got ugly.
She didnā€™t exactly fall in love with Link at first sight, but she felt the connection between them, as did he. She developed a great admiration for him upon seeing him defend herself and Impa despite being still just a trainee when many a fully-armored soldier hesitated to act.
Admiration that just grew as she watched him fight from uder the Sheik guise. Admiration that turned into something tugging at her heartstrings when she realized how desperate he was to find her. She hadnā€™t thought anyone besides Impa would be so worried about her.
Zelink HC
At first, the gang is comfortable with Proxi doing the talking for Link, but Zelda starts learning the signs on her own when she has time to spare (Which is rare tbh what with the war and everything).
Link sometimes exchanges comments with Proxi about what heā€™s thinking and she learns fairly often not to say them out loud if itā€™s something embarrassing but then oh snap, Zelda learns the signs too and so she catches LinkĀ ā€œWhisperingā€ at Proxi stuff likeĀ ā€œWow Girahimā€™s hair looks even more stupid than usual todayā€ orĀ ā€œGods, I am so done with these Re Deadsā€ or ā€œDammit, Proxi, I keep glancing over at the princess sheā€™s going to think Iā€™m a creepā€
She canā€™t bring herself to tell him she understands him for like two weeks after he signs that because she doesnā€™t want to embarrass him.
When she finally does tell him Link is so happy he doesnā€™t even think of the implication at first, though. It only catches up on him after and thankfully she isnā€™t around to see him turn red and bury his face in his hands and freak out a bit.
Zelda insists to communicate through signs and though Link is fine with people talking to him, he appreciates the effort sheā€™s making.Ā
Link teaching his personal signs to Zelda, correcting her hand posture.
The two of them haivng private sign conversations but Link confessing to her that he likes it better when she talks so she now only uses them if she canā€™t talk for whatever reason.
Of course, Impa eventually catches on and she wants to learn too, if only to know for sure what theyā€™re saying to each other.
Lana catches up too and then she spent like three or four days studying sings frantically because well yeah, sheā€™s accepted the whole Soul Bond thing but that doesnā€™t mean she likes the idea that Zelda can understand him while she doesnā€™t.
Eventually, all the gang starts picking up little signs here and there as well to the point where they can more or less understand Link but he only takes signing from Zelda. On ocassion, Impa, Lana or Linkle.
