Headcanons about how the Avatar characters sing

Neytiri: we all heard her singing her songcord in A2. Ninat may be the best singer, but if something happens to her, we all know who the new best singer will be. Her voice is beautiful on its own, but she loves to sing with her family and the rest of her clan.

Jake: I love him, but this man cannot sing. He tries his best, but it always sounds like a dying titanothere. Whenever the olo'eyktan and tsahik have to lead the clan in a traditional song, he lets Neytiri take the wheel.

Neteyam: he takes after his momma 💙 he has a beautiful singing voice, but even though he's so talented he never tries to take the spotlight and prefers to sing in a group.

Kiri: she's a little insecure about her oddly mature-sounding voice. She has trouble staying in tune and staying on beat whenever she sings in a group, so she normally keeps her voice soft during clan songs, but sometimes, when she's all alone in the forest, she'll sing a song that's all her own. Spider is one of the few people who's ever caught her singing by herself and she made him promise not to tell anyone, though Spider thought it was the most beautiful thing he'd ever heard.

Lo'ak: he takes after his dad. He can't carry a tune to save his life, and he's so jealous of Neteyam's voice. He's convinced Neteyam sings extra loud when they're together just to rub it in his face. But even though he can't carry a tune, he has a fantastic sense of rhythm. If he would stop trying to copy Neteyam and focused on his own talent, he would be a great drummer for clan songs.

Spider: Once when he was a kid getting tutored in "boring human crap" by Norm and Max, he made up a song to remember the Pythagorean Theorem, (please click the link if you haven't heard the Jack Champion pythagorean theorem song, it's so goofy) and he drove all the adults crazy singing it. Ever since then, he's loved singing, and he has a nice voice too, but there's just one problem. White boy got no rhythm 😔. He couldn't stay on beat if his life depended on it, but he makes up for it with enthusiasm.

Tuk: she loves to sing just like Neytiri, and she'll make up songs when she's playing or learning new skills. She hasn't quite grown into her voice yet, but she'll probably sound just as beautiful as her momma when she grows up.

Tonowari and Ronal: the only time they sing is when they're together, leading the clan through ceremonial songs. Even though they don't sing very often, their voices compliment each other wonderfully.

Aonung: He's going through a phase where he's Too Cool (TM) to sing 😎... until Ronal smacks him upside the head for not participating in clan song rituals.

Tsireya: she has a very sweet voice, but it's so soft it can easily get drowned out when she's singing in a group. Her true passion is dancing, and she would much rather dance than sing during clan celebrations.

Rotxo: he's a little shy about singing, but he has a decent voice. He also prefers dancing.

Quaritch: you wouldn't know it, but he actually does enjoy singing and he's not half bad at it. He's got a deep, kinda raspy singing voice that's good for classic country songs. He only sings when he's really relaxed and happy though, so most people have never heard it. Spider thought he was hallucinating the first time Quaritch started singing Johnny Cash songs while they were flying alone on Cupcake. At one point when it was just the two of them, Quaritch sang "A Boy Named Sue" but changed it to "A Boy Named Miles" and Spider couldn't tell if he was making fun of him or not. Spider liked the part of the song where the boy beat up his deadbeat dad though.

Wainfleet: He screams Lynyrd Skynyrd whenever he flies on his ikran 🎶 FLYYYYYYY FREEEEEEEE BIRDDDD YEAHAHH *sick guitar solo*🎶

I'm trying to make a design for Last Life Grian but I don't remember much of that season except for Lizzie's POV and there's very little fanart for that season ToT I guess I could skip it for now? Ughhh, but if I do, I know I'll never go back to itttt. What bird would I change the wing colors and shape to as well??? I'm thinking a dove for Double Life, a hummingbird for Limited Life, a finch for Secret Life, and a green macaw for Wild Life. Already have vulture for 3rd Life.

Vultures use other animals to hunt their prey just like Grian hid behind Scar's red name while he was still green. Also vultures are commonly associated with the desert.

Doves are commonly associated with romance and that kind of stuff so I think it's pretty fitting for a season revolving around soulmates.

Hummingbirds have to keep moving just like they had to do in Limited Life before they ran out of time. Just doesn't work too well if we consider the episode where Grian was babysat basically.

Finches are a very quiet bird species. Fitting for a season about keeping quiet about your secret task.

Then green macaw for Wild Life because pesky birdddd. Also Grian is typically drawn as a blue macaw but green macaw has the traffic light colors. Saw someone point this out and I loved it too much.

I just don't know for Last Life and it's so irritating ToT

100% taking this opportunity to talk about Malcom bright :D

OKAY SO YOU MIGHT NEED BACKGROUND IF YOU HAVENT WATCHED PRODIGAL SON BEFORE

Prodigal son follows a guy name Malcolm bright who worked with the fbi as a profiler before getting kicked out for sympathizing with murders too much

So he went home to nyc where he is buddies with the chief of police there and there’s a weird murder that they immediately bring him in to check. The thing about this murder is that it appears to be a copy cat of a serial killer who killed 23 people and is currently in a psychiatric facility for it. His name is Martin Whitley. Anywho Malcom is an expert in this guy and gets himself on the case. It turns out to not be a copy cat killer and a different thing but that kinda introduces you to some stuff. ANYWAYS ILL JUSY GET TO THE POINT

When Malcom was a child he grew up in a rich family and when I say rich I mean RICH. His mom came from the famous rich family and his dad was a surgeon. He has a little sister too. One time when e was little he when to a room he wasn’t supposed to and opened a box that would then haunt his dreams for years. It had a body in it. He called the police on his dad and a cop came that would then become the chief of police in a few years time. His dad is Martin Whitley. Also known as The Surgeon.

So yeahhh he is an amazing profiler with like no sense of danger so he does insane things and his dad is a serial killer who he mostly avoids but sometimes goes to him for help with a case because his dad is well an expert in the area of killers.

And and Martin is hilarious and is played by Michael sheen so hehe he’s such a fun dad. Malcom would disagree. Malcolm bright changed his name when he grew up so he didn’t have to have the name Whitley. His sister is fuckuny insane and is a reporter from the news. Her name is Ainsley. And his mother Jessica is also crazy but mostly just in the overbearing mother way not in the psychopath way his sister is. Annddddd Malcom has a pet birdddd

Anyways he’s my blot o and I love him and his sister bc she’s awesome. I love the whole Whitley family lol

Gil (the police chief) and Jessica got some weird thing going on where they are constantly are on the verge of dating and raised the kids together after Martin was arrested.

Also also there’s so many great characters like the morgue girl Edrisa who’s really fun or the police detective Dani who Malcom has a crush on. There’s also JT who’s HILARIOUS

Malcom is so silly too like he still goes to a child therapist because he just kinda refused to stop and he hands out candy to other people in the police place and profiles what their favorite flavor would be and he handcuffs himself ti the bed every night because his nightmares are so vivid he flings himself around and once in the show even throws himself out the window while sleeping and has almost hurt other people. And I am so normal about this show sorry this got crazy long
