I'm calling it, people are going to add the blue snail (or Grian's Snail) to the Grumbo family tree as the youngest in the family, I swear on it.

Hermit a Day May, Day 28 — Scarrrrrrrrr

I figured if Scar was going to dress like the crocodile hunter this season, then I should draw him in a classic croc hunter pose. He doesn’t look too happy about his special guests, though!

Still trying to develop a style for doing faces. Not sure if I like the more realistic faces, or if I should swing back towards cartoon proportions. Will keep experimenting for now.

Thinking about the hermit snails

I might be running behind on the dragons, but I felt like drawing the snails' latest shenanigan. Also, Grian's snail is short. Period.

It's times like these, when Grian refers to snails as molluscs and gastropods, that I remember he has a degree in marine biology. In retrospect this makes the fishing arc funnier I think.

I was watching episode 3 of Hermitcraft from Grian's POV to find the snail's first appearance which hit me that I didn't really think that the Hermitcraft fandom knows about.

This is the Hermes thing from empires Smp S2 all over again but this time it's in Hermitcraft.

Which is pretty interesting to see since Joel is one of Hermes dad and Grian kinda acts like a father figure when the snail is around like in this scene.

(Context in episode 6, Gem went to Grian's base with the snail because she was upset that his snail was eating her lighthouse) And do you know what he responded with.

He defended the snail's actions, well before saying that the snail chose Gem before bringing the snail home but that scene stuck out to him since I feel like he sees the snail more than just a one time joke, no he sees that snail as his kid like his other children in the past sessions.

I'm not sure if I'm going too deep with the snail and then being another Hermes thing all over again and probably Grian seeing the snail as his kid.

I know you have your little umbreon/claydol sona you use to represent yourself occasionally, but I just keep envisioning you as some kind of conch snail delicately peeking it's eyestalks out cautiously, before throwing artwork on par with Italian Renaissance painters into the fucking wind
