“He backed her up so that her bum was resting firmly against the edge of the solid desk and his hands moved freely. Exploring her form in a way that she had missed so much it hurt. He always treated her body with such reverence, like she was a temple deity and must be properly worshipped before entering. 

His lips left her mouth as his hand tugged firmly at the mess of curls he had claimed. She gasped again as her head yanked back and welcomed the sting it brought. He left a trail of wet kisses down her throat and his hand pushed the strap of her gown down so it hung loosely over her shoulder, so he could continue his markings there. 

 The other moved south, grabbing a hold of her knee and hitching it up. The fabric of the slit falling to the side and exposing her long leg and he groaned in hunger at the sight. 

 Her hands began working on his belt, moving frantically and with reckless abandon”

Draco Malfoy Post-War Pt.1

I don’t believe that Draco Malfoy would have come back to Hogwarts to repeat his 8th Year.

To be a Malfoy is to be prideful, and no matter how much he lost in the war, I don’t think there is ANY WAY that he was able to swallow his pride enough to go back to school with people who had every right to detest him.

So he plunged into work immediately, he goes to Germany where his name isn’t really well known and he starts Healer School (it’s what he always wanted to do, and, suddenly, he sees no reason to hold himself back)

He works hard, impossibly hard, pulling all-nighters and working weekends at the cafe to pay for school because he’s forsaken his family fortune

And of course he graduates top of his class, and he becomes a well-know healer in Germany quickly (he even becomes one of the youngest head healers the country has ever seen)

And then whole time, he watches British newspapers and watches her, watches Granger as she climbs and succeeds and dates Ron and breaks up with Ron (when he sees this, his heart does a little skip he refuses to acknowledge)

He returns one weekend to visit his mother, and he’s in Diagon alley and he runs into her (physically, no metaphorically)

She’s carrying things and she starts apologizing and bends down and then she looks up and sees him and freezes

And somehow he’s 17 again watching her fight in the battle of Hogwarts and locking eyes with her and nodding silently at her

He’s 15 again and they are studying together and his hand moves slowly across the table and his long fingers brush her small hands

He’s 13 and he watches her giggle at some inane joke that Weasley made and he sneers

She’s speechless, warm brown eyes flinting gold in the sunlight boring into his silver ones, and her lips form a sad little smile

“Draco.” She breathes, voice tinged with sadness and pleasure and shock

“Hello, Granger,” he replies brusquely, trying to brush off the swell in his chest, “congratulations on your promotion. I-err—I read about it in the paper”

His eyes flutter downward in embarrassment, and he is stirred out of internal panic by her small voice

“Would you like to have a drink with me?”

“What?”

“It’s been a long time, Malfoy,” she smirks, something she picked up from him and never lost, “don’t make me repeat myself again.”

She turns on her heel, motioning him to follow and not waiting to see if he will

She knows he will, because all these years she’s been following him too and she knows why he stayed away and she knows why this is the first time he’s visited his mother in 10 years and she knows why she’s had an inexplicable void in her life for years

Because she realized the same thing he did, and it’s why she broke up with Ron, and it’s why he’s never dated seriously in Germany

Sometimes you can’t live without someone. And she’s finally willing to take the plunge with him, to reject whatever anyone says, to see what beautiful thing they can build together

And of course, Draco Malfoy follows after Gryffindor’s Princess, like he always has, without a second of hesitation

Draco Malfoy Post-War: Pt.2

So, Draco and hermione go get that drink together and he cannot. Stop. LOOKING. AT. HER

Like it’s weird he’s staring while she’s talking and while she’s not talking and he trips over his words because he’s transfixed by her lips and her eyes and the way she scrunches her nose when she laughs

And she tells him what she remembers about them and everything seems to fall into an uncertain sort of perfect place

She tells him about being 17 and catching his eye across the way in the battle and nodding quietly

And about being 15 and studying late for arithmancy and watching him as he read and how his face just seemed so peaceful when he was reading

And being 13 and watching him tease pansy parksinson and feeling so so jealous she couldn’t breathe

By the end of the night, they’ve subconsciously scooted their chairs closer together and leaned in and they’ve both probably drank too much and she takes down her hair and he loosens his tie

But this isn’t how he wanted it to happen, so Draco leans back, sharp silver eyes boring into her warm brown ones and he says the words he’s held inside and imagined for almost 15 years

“I know I’m not worthy of you, Granger. I don’t think I ever will be.” He takes a breath, as though he’s trying to suck in some of her Gryffindor courage and she’s staring at him, unblinkingly with something like amazement in her eyes

“I want to try to be a good man for you, Granger. I’ve waited for this moment for a long time.” And her eyes are shining with happiness and shock and more of that amazement that she’s always reserved only for him

And for once she is the impulsive one, the reckless one, and she breaches the gap between them and slams her lips onto his and throws her arms around his neck

Everything is perfect for a moment. They’ve both waited so long. It feels like a crescendo to the music soundtrack of their entire lives

She pulls back, just a little, lips brushing against his, and whispers, “you were always enough for me. I was just waiting for you to realize it.” And this time he’s closing the distance and somehow the two most reserved and proper individuals are making out in the middle of a bar

And the next morning, when the sun is dappling gently onto the white comforter of Hermione Granger’s bed, she turns over and for the first time in years there is somewhere there...more than that, it’s him.

He’s sitting up, propped against multiple pillows (one of which he stole from under his bed), platinum hair rumpled with sleep and silver glasses perched on the end of his nose. When he notices she’s awake, he grins, opens the newspaper dramatically, and reads aloud:

“War Heroine and returned ex-Death Eater caught locked in passionate embrace” he reads, and she turns bright red and hides under the covers and he snickers

“I always knew you were a tart, Granger. But an ex-death eater? How scandalous? Whatever will Potter and Weasel say?” And he sounds like he’s joking but inside he’s terrified because they’ve already made the front page and what if this is too much for her and what if she leaves?

“Shut up, Malfoy!” Her response comes out muffled from underneath the sheets, and she emerges

“I am absolutely not a tart! And who are you to talk, ‘Slytherin sex-god?’”

And suddenly she’s nervous—no, terrified— because he ran to GERMANY to escape this type of attention and what if this is to much and what if he leaves?

“Malfoy?” Her voice is small, and her eyes wide. Their eyes snap together like magnets, even though both of them are fighting the pull.

“Are you—is this, I mean—are you...alright with all of this? The Prophet and the attention and the—“ she falters because his eyes are boring into his and she’s scared because she really can’t read his mind right now

Suddenly his lips are on hers again and her hands are tangled in his hair, and he rolls on top of her and breaks this kiss and his eyes are sparkling with something like joy

“For you, Granger? I’ll put up with anything.”

For the first time in 15 years, they both remember what it was like to be 16 and in love and it’s beautiful
