I know I am so emotional these days, but I just feel the need to let it all out.
this year has been maybe the easiest and the hardest year of my life. while we were still in the first phase of quarantine, I hadn’t been affected much. I made new friends and all was, actually, well. I didn’t see my dad for 4 months due to travel bans but it was nothing compared to other people’s troubles. I mentioned some friends? yeah they all left me behind. they all found something to drop me. none of them speak to me now, which is okay, no one has to be friends with me, but it still kinda hurts, you know? I find & lose friends so easily and quick, nowadays I don’t even know if I'm any good at human relations. all of them left, except this one wonderful person, who is without any doubt, my dear friend Teddy. I found a very positive and radiant friend in this toxic place, I'm so proud. Teddy, just know that you are the best thing I gained from this year. after Hermy, of course. (I can hear you saying of course) @ad0ra speaking of him, I surprisingly made a maybe lifelong friend this year. my cat Hermes. he is the funkiest little thing. he absolutely adores being petted and peeing places he shouldn’t — but he is an over-all good cat. although since he entered made life, he really made me think about things. so if you know anything about cats or if you have a cat, you know they are very needy. and they absolutely know where you are at all times. if you are in your room they know and come into your room, knowing you will pet them. Hermy made me realize that he is the only thing in this world who will come to me before I went to him. he’s very good at giving motorcycle purrs, it really helps sooth you out; and the thing is, he comes to you when he feels you are in distress. he made me realize he will be the only thing to come and check in on me in the mornings — if I'm awake to give him 8.30 am cuddles. I love you a lot, Hermes, you’re my favorite fluffy boy. I hope you never leave my side. and after all of that, thing made a very serious turn. my mental health has been six feet under for several years now, but this year was the year I started worrying about myself. and that is a good thing — because I realized that I should go to my mom and ask her to have therapy even if it’s the 5th time she would had refused me. plot twist! turns out sixth time is the charm. i finally persuaded her into letting me have therapy. it’s still hard sometimes, to even go to my sessions, but it’s coming up to be easy with every step. and in this one month, I realized what kinda year this was. what kind of important events had passed and how many disasters we had. and it’s a lot. a very much lot. I know I'm not the only person to experience these feelings but damn, guys, it was a year. how did we make it through that?
and that is it, I guess. it was a big and eventful and overwhelming year, and I can’t wait to get out of it. cheers to 2021.

NOTHING gets in the way of me taking care of my F A M I L Y. Especially not my conscience
LINEAGE:
Mortal family: Piglet Ham (father; deceased); Eleanor Ham (adoptive mother; deceased), Piper Ham (adoptive sister ???, alive).
Reese was given a fairly normal childhood, allowed the same freedoms as most children her age, until one day, she wasn’t. While Reese was naturally very observant, there were some things she hadn’t picked up on yet, things that concerned her parents enough to tell her the truth. However, that fateful seventh-grade day, on the bus ride home, a teenage satyr beat them to the punch. Before Piglet and Eleanor had met, Reese’s father had formed a connection with the minor goddess Hestia during a brief period of time in which she’d visited the earth, and Reese had been born of Hestia’s hearth, making the girl naturally a rather warm and homey individual. Reese could hardly believe what she was hearing, but when she arrived home, her parents could only confirm the news she’d been told, but because she wasn’t in imminent danger, she wouldn’t need to leave for Camp Half-Blood for another few weeks - she could stay at home until the end of the semester.
Godly parent: Hestia, (virgin) Goddess of the hearth, home, the right ordering of domesticity, and family
Claimed: Reese was claimed when she was 14, during her second summer at Camp Half-Blood. It was a surprise to not only Reese but to the entire camp when Hestia claimed her, albeit a bit reluctantly. Reese isn’t quite sure what triggered the goddess to claim her - given that it was a well-known fact that Hestia never really wanted to be a mother - but she’s chalked it up to the struggles she’d been dealing with, some of which include: her transition to a new high school, past bullying over her anxiety, and it being her first summer away from the therapy that she’d started over the past school year.
Why did you choose the God you did?
Hestia seemed like the only choice that fit for Reese. When I read through the biographies of the Greek gods and goddesses, no one else seemed to have a personality like Reese except Hestia. They share many of the same values, such as the importance of family and the home. Unlike Hestia, Reese does want to be a mother, but the only other really maternal goddess I could find was Hera, who seemed a bit more hostile than I can ever see Reese or her parent being ??? Hestia is more warm, selfless and understanding all traits I’d associate with Reese.
LIFE AT CAMP:
Are they a year round or summer camper? Reese was a summer-only camper for the first five (5) years she attended CHB. After her parents passed away, she decided to stay at camp year-round.
How long have they been there? This summer will mark Reese’s ninth (9th) year at CHB.
Where is their favorite place, in Camp? Reese’s favorite place in Camp has always been Hestia’s Hearth. It seems a little weird, but the girl was always drawn to the fire, and after being claimed, she felt it to be a connection to her mother that always managed to soothe her.
Do they have a weapon? Like her godly mother, Reese is peace-loving, and thus, does not have a weapon.
Pets? Until recently, the answer would have been no. Now, Reese has Buttercup, a long haired brown tabby cat, a companion she so desperately needed.
What was life like at Camp, for them? Generally, life at Camp was pretty good for Reese. Her first summer, she remained unclaimed, so most of the friends she made were other kids in the Hermes cabin. The year she was claimed was a little bittersweet, as she got moved to the Minor Gods cabin, but it wasn’t too bad, and she began to socialize more outside of the cabin, despite her anxiety. Every year, Reese looked forward to going back to camp, because in her eyes, it was a thousand times better than being around the kids back home who didn’t understand her.
TALENTS:
Pyrokinesis: the ability to control fire well as being completely immune to being burned by fire.
Comfort and Ease: a power that allows Reese to put others at total ease, as well as give off a comforting vibe. Hestia inherited this power from Rhea, and she bestowed it upon Reese. (Click the link in the ability’s name and scroll down for a better explanation.)
Culinary Arts: Ask anyone, and they’ll tell you Reese makes the best s’mores. Like her mother before her, Reese knows how to perfectly toast a marshmallow. She’s also a pretty great cook in general.
FATAL FLAW:
Reese’s fatal flaws are her anxiety and excessive loyalty. While these seem contradictory, they are not. Reese’s anxiety tends to hold her back, but she would still give her life if it meant she could save the lives of her friends, family, and fellow demigods. Part of this stems from wanting to prove her worth, but for the most part, it stems from the compassion and care Reese has for anyone and everyone she meets. She’s quite literally loyal to a fault, and she’ll trust anyone who gives her reason to believe they’re good – whether they are or not.
