ever wondered what Leon S. Kennedy smells like? well, here are a handful of answers!
NOTE: headcanon whatever you want! this is just for people curious about different Leon scents on the market <3
first, i'll start with the Capcom mini Perfume Collection from RE's 25th Anniversary merch!
i unfortunately do not have this one :( but here's the official description!:
The Leon version is a citrus green, described as "a sharp scent centered on citrus, reminiscent of Leon's calmness and sense of justice. In a refreshing and cool atmosphere, the freshness of water lily and the sweet expression of honey lemon are also fascinating to the gap."
a kind person on reddit also provided a personal review of all of them! here's their take on Leon's:
Citrus. Smells like passionfruit scented aftershave. Fresh, very bright. Like a freshly-showered person with a lingering smell of sweet and fruity soap.
then, there's the Quasar RE4-themed cologne sold by Jesús del Pozo as part of the original Resident Evil 4's releases promo merch.
here's its official description:
a mix of lavender, rosemary, cedar and sandalwood
and its entire list of scent notes are actually available to find! here they are:
i actually have the Fae-tal Attractions Perfumery dupe which was created based on these scent notes; here are my thoughts:
Forest-y, with a subdued floral sweetness sweeping in at the end. The base notes stick with you the longest, carrying a very masculine, slightly moody scent. Also... lowkey sexy?
next, Mad Labs Studios' Leon-inspired scent.
here's their (very beautiful!) description:
The interplay of invigorating juniper and succulent fig creates a dynamic and alluring blend, reflecting Leon's charismatic and adventurous demeanor. A heart of supple leather adds a touch of rugged sophistication, echoing his resilience and cool composure. Vanilla, with its warm and comforting presence, embodies the timeless charm that defines Leon.
and i have this one! here's my thoughts:
Sweet, clean, and the touch of leather rounds it out, giving it a touch of maturity. Honestly? Pure comfort. Every time I wear this one I just feel a little better, and I can't help but smile to myself.
lastly (or, until i find more!), Kitselysium's take on the Leon-inspired scent!
they actually provide both a description and the scent notes; first is the description (btw i adore the story aspect of it!):
and its scent notes:
Top: Geranium, Smoke, Vanilla. Mid: Whisky, Patchouli, Winter Peonies. Bottom: Gunpowder Accord, Black Musk, Oak Moss.
i also have this one, so here are my thoughts:
I think this scent truly paints such a vivid picture of the arc Leon goes through. The whiskey and gunpowder come off strong, but it's rooted in this forest-y sweetness that follows you even as the other scents fade away. This one's also sexy, like pressing your face into the front of Leon's button-up after a more formal day of DSO work.
also, Kitselysium's is sooo pretty, it has this glitter in it that's really lovely to watch if you swirl the bottle :]
between the three that i own, i'm caught between Mad Labs' & Kitselysium's, but i feel that Mad Labs' is more suited to daily/casual wear. i'd love to try out the official 25th one one day, since it sounds right up my alley! i <3 citrus :3
thanks for reading :D
#UPDATED!! :3#dedicated to violet btw :3#leon kennedy#leon s kennedy#leon scott kennedy#resident evil#keyboard click clack noises#typewriter.txt#if i got my hands on the 25th minis i'd probably drink them#THE CHRIS ONE. GRRRHGGJHGJRHG I NEED IT.#for chris i'll start w the mad labs one tho since the minis r so hard to find :3

here's my second try at recreating a bionicle location in blender. it's orkahm's le-metru home! recreated from this image from the toa matau mini-disc
instead of making the buildings try to resemble the mini-disc, though, i instead tried to model them after the 2004 le-metru renders that were often used in promo art.
still a beginner with a lot to learn in blender, for example i couldn't get the lightstone fixture to look any good even after remodeling it over and over, and i'm not really happy with how it came out in the end. and also, i had to repost this because the first version i posted had a really egregious error that i somehow didnt notice until i posted it and it was embarrassing me to look at lmao. but, i'm still enjoying this a lot, and will probably keep doing more.

Do you have any thoughts on the UCA toys? And maybe what you’d want to see with the toys paired with the upcoming S2 stuff?
Yes!! I have many many thoughts. Too many, even, so prepare yourself for a giant infodump lol. I was gonna wait until I had all my dolls before posting about them but whatever haha, right now I have the Sophia and Ava fashion dolls and I'm waiting on the Isabel fashion doll and the mini Sophia/Wildstar duo to arrive.
When I saw THEEEE very first promo picture of the Sophia fashion doll my reaction was a very lowkey "eww....."... Like I thought it was very cool that they had made a doll but I wasn't super impressed by how it looked, and that it didn't really resemble the Netflix version of her super well. But honestly seeing the dolls in person changed my opinion of them quite a bit. I think they are really cute and actually quite well made in person, photos don't seem to do them justice!! They have a micro glitter to their skin which makes a really lovely sheen, and their hair is really soft?? I wouldn't go as far as to say it's soft like human hair but it's somewhere in the ballpark of very very soft synthetic hair, it has a really lovely quality to it that I could see a young girl really drawn to, especially with the little carebrushes included. Really satisfying to brush and the curls hold their shape quite well. Sophia's jacket is also quite a bit more holographic in person than in pictures. I think the face and body molds are really cute and well done!
I'm no doll reviewer by any means, but I think my biggest gripe with the fashion dolls is that the clothing in some areas feels cheap. I don't like that it looks printed and that the edges in some parts feel unfinished or unhemmed. For example, the neckline of Sophia's tank top is hemmed but the bottom edge is raw?? I was comparing the dolls to some of my early 2000s strawberry shortcake dolls and the SS dolls had better finished clothing! Which is soooo wild to me. I'm not sure exactly how to compare because the dolls are $20ish (in Canada anyways), and really nice fashion dolls like Monster High can be easily twice that amount. But I think if the clothing had an extra level of quality it would go really far because I actually quite like the other aspects of the dolls.
My other nitpick would be that Sophia's eyes in the show are a bit purple, but on her doll, she has brown eyes. Ava's eyes are also a strange mix that doesn't really look like her green eyes on the show. And for some inexplicable reason, Sophia's skin is very slightly darker than Ava's??? Sophia's printed image on the box is several times lighter than her doll. I guess Sophia got some great tans from all her time with Wildstar lmao???
It's also worth noting that EVERY. SINGLE. ONE. of my boxes were absolutely fucking SMOOSHED in the mail. (Okay, not that terrible, but I was really disappointed to see strong visible creasing and some tearing on the upper portion of each package.) The packaging is super cute but unfortunately not sturdy enough when shipped in a soft package as mine unfortunately were. I actually had to return and reorder replacements for Sophia and Ava because the packaging was in bad condition, only for the replacements to be smushed in the same areas. I would advise people to pick them up in person if they can, seems like they are prone to damage during shipment.
I'll have to wait until Isabel gets here to give my final thoughts on the fashion dolls but tentatively they're a 7.5/10 for me, a very acceptable first wave of UCA toys that I'm pleasantly surprised by, but still have room to improve. I'm also really disappointed that Rory, Layla, and Valentina don't have fashion dolls but I'm really hoping that they are on their way eventually. I'm glad they have mini dolls of Layla and Valentina but where the fuck is Rory and Storm?! I have yet to receive my mini dolls so I'll update when those arrive. Not sure I'll get many more (maybe Valentina?) but I'll see. I'm not sure if I'll get any of the larger horse toys either as they're a bit pricey (AND I HATE THE HOLLOW INNER LEGS) but who knows!! I do think it would be cool to have the riders with their unicorns.
For season 2 I'm really excited to see if the blind box toys match with foals we meet in the show! And I hope Sophia isn't the only one we get a masquerade doll of! It would be cool to get some baby unicorns that aren't blind boxes too. Honestly I'd love a flutterbunny plush too hehe <3 (AND CAN U IMAGINE A SUPER CUNTY RAVENZELLA DOLL......... LIVES WOULD BE CHANGED)
Oh and just for funsies I got the Unicorn Academy blanket... Yeah, save your money lol it's super super thin. I wear it like a shawl around the house

30 Day Narnia Challenge #2
Day 2: Favorite movie?
The 2005 The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe adaptation has been one of my all time favorite movies ever, and when it comes to Narnia movies, it's almost a tie with Prince Caspian (which was my choice when I did this challenge back in 2016) and obivously they're both very well done. Most importantly, I appreciate how the filmmakers started the process of making both of them in spirit of trying to make a good film with a good story that's faithful to Lewis and in that aspect they succeeded (more or less - I'm looking at you, PC the movie!). In adition to that, they both have stunning videography, locations, costumes, props, the casting are all on point and the music really ties together films that will stand the test of time.
But since I wrote what makes it my favourite in my previous visit to this challenge, I would like to draw your attention to some other adaptations that may deserve your attention if you're a hardcore Narnia fan.
The Foucus on the Famliy Radio Theater did a marvellous audio adaptation of all the books, complete with good voice acting (multiple actors read multiple roles) and immersive background sound effects and music. If you're not into just a read-aloud audiobook, give this a chance!
The BBC miniseries adapted one mini-series LWW, did a single season PC with VDT where PC gets like 2 episodes and VDT is the rest and a miniseries adaptation of SC - the only screen adaptation of SC. Due to a much smaller budget than the Walden/Disney films, this one features a lot of very obvious puppetry, some way over the top costumes for Talking animals and some very awkward greenscreen. If you're there for the story, it might be fun for you, but if you're one of those people that cannot stand anything that isn't thouroughly done over by some sort of CGI, you'll be put off. The casting is a bit of a hit and miss, they could have done a better job with Lucy, Eustace was a good choice, he's delightfully annoying (in VDT that's a good thing!) and IMO Drinian was a total miss. Jill was a very good choice. Tom Baker as Puddleglum was decent enough. They casted Barbara Kellerman to play both the White Witch and Lady of the Green Kirtle, which can be confusing if you've never read the books (okay, it's kinda confusing even if you did) and she was a fairly decent choice though she can be very intense. My favourite performances come from Warwick Davies as Reepicheep and Samuel West as King Caspian in VDT (I might like them better than Ben Barnes and the Walden version of Reepicheep). Again, if you wanna try something that's not Walden and don't mind taxidermy Aslan and giant bowling pin beavers, I'd say go for it. It's fully freely available on YT.
Speaking of low-budget, there's a 1979 2D animated feature length LWW adaptation that was featured on CBS. For some reason it features the coolest way Aslan does away with the White Witch and Edmund with glasses which, as a gal with glasses, I thought was neat. Again, worthy of checking out if you're really into Narnia and don't mind shabby animation. This too is freely available to watch on YT. Some screencaps are so memeworthy though. As a fun fact, soon after, the same studio went into pre-production for an adaptation of The Magician's Nephew. They went as far as had the first two or three chapters planned in storyboards, however the production was scrapped due to unknown reasons. There's a YT video the girls at TheLionsCall made when one of them purchased said Magician's Nephew storyboards here
I've only ever seen the promo videos and shots for the Logos Theater productions, but have never seen the shows because I don't live in the USA, but I would very much like to.
Thank you for reading this long post, and as a treat, please have this 1979 adaptation of The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe random screencap with no context whatsoever!

So you wanna get into NCT, eh?
Part 2 - NCT 127 - Introduction and MVs
I promised I would do more of this and the holidays are done and today is the first of the year so that seems like a great time to get to it!
Tumblr has a 10 video limit so I'll actually make a second 127 post tomorrow(?) with some more MVs, but these are my personal picks for 10 most crucial 127 MVs so that's what we're starting with.
I mentioned in my intro post to NCT that NCT 127 debuted in July 2016, on the 7th, after the larger whole group of NCT had debuted in April of that year. 127 is the longitude of Seoul, and with the original intent of NCT to have a multitude of subgroups focused on different parts of the world, 127 were established as the first of these groups with a focus on Seoul and South Korea.
NCT 127 debuted with seven members:
Taeil, Taeyong, Yuta
Jaehyun, Winwin
Mark, Haechan
In December of 2016, two ungrouped, already debuted members of NCT were added to 127, Johnny and Doyoung, and then the final member, Jungwoo, was added in September of 2018 after he joined NCT earlier that year.
Johnny, Doyoung, Jungwoo
(All pictures taken from the NCT official Facebook page from the Golden Era promo posts, so these photos are all from summer 2023 and I'll use the same set of photos for the other subgroup posts to be consistent)
If you're interested in putting in the effort to learn the members and looking at this single set of photos isn't going to get you there (how could it?) my pro tip for learning kpop group members for ANY group is to pull off a split screen or makeshift split screen and make use of the many many fan-made lyric videos on Youtube. If you have a computer, have two windows open on Youtube with one having the official MV and the other a lyric video (you can find these by typing in the group name, song name, and "lyric video" and trust me, you'll find plenty). Mute one, compare the video lengths, then time them to coincide- the lyric videos will typically light up a picture of the member singing as well as have their name at the bottom of the video with the lyrics, so you can have a constant guide to who is singing what throughout. Makeshift split screening can be done by watching the MV on your TV while watching the lyric video on your phone at the same time. I've done both of these and it's helped me a lot!
Okay, back to 127 members specifically- despite the focus on Seoul, 127 is an international group member-wise, with Winwin coming from China, Yuta being the first SM artist to come from Japan, and members Mark coming from Canada and Johnny from America. Jaehyun also lived in America for four years growing up, so they started out with a pretty solid English speaking base.
They debuted with Fire Truck (소방차) in July 2006 as we've already covered, and their first EP which was just titled NCT #127 - The First Mini Album. They've released a whole pile of albums, mini albums, various singles, special releases, and several Japanese albums over the years so there's quite a big pile of songs and material to go through.
Now a factual, historical way to get into discussing them here would be to list songs in order of how they were released and talk about how successful songs and albums were and etc, but I don't really feel like doing things that way so I'm just going to follow my heart and list them in the way that feels right to me to talk about them. These posts are a formalized version of the spam of messages that friends of mine have gotten when they dare tell me they want to get into a kpop group, so I'm going to follow more of that kind of format where I'm going to post the songs that I think will hook you with only a few bits of info between most of them so you can just get into the music. If you really want info about album successes and statistics, Wikipedia and other websites have got you. I got you for the music videos and fun facts instead.
HERE WE GO.
youtube
Kick It (Mar 4, 2020) reigns supreme as NCT 127's most viewed song on Youtube, and is one of NCT's top viewed MVs overall out of all releases. This song has a grip on everyone after almost 4 years and it's not letting go anytime soon. They've performed it live at all kinds of big awards shows and music festivals and still do, including a few days ago at the big SBS Gayo Daejeon festival, and Taeyong is famous for complaining about his older sister watching one of their award show performances and him discovering later that all the screenshots she took were of shirtless Johnny and none of him or anyone else dancing or singing.
youtube
Listen, I wasn't going to include songs I put in the intro post, but Fact Check (Oct 6, 2023) made it into my top 5 Spotify songs of the year in barely over a month so like I had to include it anyway, and I figure some people will see this post first without seeing that one or whatever. This song feels triumphant and bombastic and the number of times I've blasted this while cruising down the highway recently is HIGH so you get it again. A fun fact I didn't include in the other post is that Taeyong did some of the choreography for the song, so uhhh yeah that can justify me posting it again I guess.
youtube
Ahhh Superhuman, my criminally underrated beloved. I'm constantly waffling on what my favourite NCT 127 track is, but Superhuman is definitely one of the top contenders. It's such a gem and I managed to miss it when it originally came out since I wasn't super into NCT yet at the time, which is a shame since it came out the day after my birthday (May 24, 2019) so it was a birthday gift I didn't even realise I was getting. The MVs always cover a decent amount of the choreo up with other things happening but it has some of my absolute FAVOURITE choreo that 127 has ever done which thankfully someone preserved the dance practice video of so you can appreciate it fully. Stellar song, stellar vibes, stellar choreo, it's perfect, thank you.
youtube
If you're newer to kpop and you haven't learned about repackage albums yet, it's something that happens where a second version of an album will be released usually a month or two after the initial release. A few songs will be added, a new lead single MV will be released, and a new theme will go with the whole thing. Punch (May 19, 2020) was the new lead single on the repackage for the album that Kick It was the lead single off of (Neo Zone) and is one of the many NCT 127 songs that a lot of people have lumped into being so-called "noise music" since it has some less traditional sounds with the electronic, synthy bits in it but it's honestly amazing with layered sounds and textures and very much worth taking the time to give it the chance it deserves.
youtube
The benefit of coming to a post like this instead of only listening to released albums is you get the overlooked masterpieces like Save (June 4 2021) thrown at you! Save was a special collab with Amoeba Culture, an independent record label in South Korea, so it didn't get regular promotion and it's not on any of 127's albums but it is SO CATCHY and such a treat. It's got heavy dance beats and it's so hard to not move while listening to it. I DARE YOU TO TRY.
youtube
Cherry Bomb (Jun 14, 2017) is close behind Kick It as 127's second most viewed MV and is an absolute classic from the song itself to the iconic choreo. You'll understand why the choreo is iconic after you watch it, trust me. They've ripped a lot of pants for this song over the years. Mark has an epic rap break, Winwin was still around, Taeil hangs from a giant hook in the middle of a warehouse, Johnny gets dragged around on a couch, there's a lot going on.
youtube
Simon Says (Nov 22, 2018) is another repackage album song (from the repackage of Regular-Irregular, Regulate) and is from the brief, sweet spot where 127 had all ten members active, making it one of only two MVs with everyone before Winwin debuted as part of WayV and became inactive in 127. Haechan and Taeil always crush high notes but something about their section that starts with Haechan at 2:53 and has Taeil right at 3:00 always gives me goosebumps.
youtube
The original version of Highway to Heaven was released on the Superhuman album, but the English version got an MV (Jul 22, 2019) so that's the one you're getting here. Just 127 playing around in the American desert with a sparkly jangly feel good song with immaculate vibes, what more could you want?
youtube
Limitless (Jan 4, 2017) has some truly tragic hair and was one of the worst eras for 127's hair health, and this MV is a really weird assortment of incredibly random nonsense (what is even GOING ON in this entire video) but the song itself is another one of my favourites so I usually just try to pretend the MVs don't exist (yeah there's multiple) and appreciate the song itself for what it is and try to forget Mark's ramen hair and Winwin's dreads (that I think are mainly only in the second MV) and Jaehyun's icicle hair and whatever it was that they did to Taeyong.
youtube
READY TO GET DIVISIVE? Either you're going to love Sticker (Sep 16, 2021) or hate Sticker, there is no middle ground. This song SPLIT the fandom and general public, but according to Wikipedia, the album sold "a combined 3.58 million copies [and] broke the record for the best-selling album of all time by an act under SM Entertainment and earned the group the Daesang award at the 31st Seoul Music Awards". Internationally, it "debuted at number three on the Billboard 200, becoming the longest and highest-charting K-pop album in the US in 2021", so obviously some people loved it (it's me, I'm people). This is peak 127 being weird and experimental and there's viral memes of the boys reacting to the demo of the song before recording their version of it that are hilarious. I think it's great. You might not. That's okay.
Okay that's the 10 song limit so you'll have to come back for more MVs hopefully tomorrow. The next post is going to include some more divisive stuff, some softer things, and some Japanese releases so stick around for that! (haha get it, stick around, since I just posted Sticker, see what I did there?)
This post is the second in a series of posts introducing new fans to NCT in a way that makes sense, by getting familiar with one subgroup at a time before moving on to the next. Linked down at the bottom is the intro post, and the rest will be linked as they're added.
Still to come about 127? More MVs, then a guide to some of the fun stuff like their extra content they post on Youtube, before we move on to NCT Dream!
Dedicated as ever to @catatonicrainbow and @poetry-protest-pornography 💖

Bye bye old BTS
This video aged so badly, ngl..
Bighit and Hybe totally went the American popstar way in 2023 for 1 member. Good that they finally cracked into the US music industry bubble. Hope it helps the group as a whole with their 2025 comeback.
(For context, the above Boracity video explains how bts has been always snubbed due to their lack of US label push, lack of radio support, lack of playlist, spotify support, minimum remixes, fewer album versions, chart rule changes etc)
The problem is - they decided as a company (and with scooter) that the only way they can make it into the US gp, was to debut a soloist, with all english tracks (because there's no way US would accept more than 1 soloist from the same korean group singing korean songs).
One thing they got right was that the US GP would not embrace a whole Asian pop group. And releasing english songs is not something BTS would keep doing either, because they clearly have different individual ambitions. When it comes to pop, it's always the solo/ individualist culture in the US. It is much easier to sell one personality than sell 7 different ones to the GP. (the General Public, not army, not people who really get INTO bts and get obsessed).
So, I totally understand why they went for mainstream US popstar way for 1 member only and also because it aligned with his own personal ambitions.
But of course they made a couple of big mistakes-
1) Underestimating the popularity and OG fan power that can give chart ranks and achievements even to non-US promoted members and their music. (BTS have done it before with a korean song and jimin did it again).
2) While they paid attention to heavy promo, charts and playlisting for Golden, they failed to create a connection with the music- which seems highly non-personal and lacking in depth and has a non-interesting concept. The promo did do the work of making jk a common name, showcasing his talents and introducing him to the industry. But for a lasting impact, they have to create better stories with the music. Idc, army are acting too defensive when people are disappointed that he didn't write his songs. It's okay to not write, but the very least singers can do is connect to song meanings and relate to personal experiences during the promos. But thanks to idol culture, jk has never been able to talk about his dating experiences. Even in the interviews, it would have been nice to see him talk about how he related to the lyrics, what the concept was etc etc.
SILVER LINING:
The constant mention of 'ARMY' by JK in all of his US promo stuff. I do see Hybe's bigger plans here. JK is a medium to bring in new fans for BTS's comeback. When they look up JK's past content, they can't do it without learning about BTS. And it doesn't matter if you are a JK solo fan, you will still be called ARMY (BTS fandom). Hybe will still call you army, even if you are just waiting for more Jungkook music and Jungkook shows. But guess what, the next time these new fans get to see Jungkook will be at a BTS CONCERT. Not a Jungkook concert.
More thoughts..
JK concert will come immediately after though. Why do you think they increased the no. of tracks in Golden when the original plan was to release a mini album? It's to collect more songs for his name. A few more releases and he'll be ready to have his own concert.
Okay final thoughts-
Hybe is going the right way from a business perspective. But they have mismanaged a lot of things. Underestimated the power of individual members and fumbled their priorities. BTS are not underdogs anymore. They are big, and whether you like it or not, Hybe is going to move like a big corporation now, revenue being top priority, not artists. If they don't strike a balance between keeping OG OT7 fans happy, the significance of ARMY will be lost. Unless...they want that to happen and do not care about the fandom that moves on its own now.
And before you camp in my asks or comments, saying the same things about sabotage, company fraud etc, I am aware of it all. Please do share your opinions that can add to this discussion.

Reviewing Every UKISS Release: By Unpopular Demand
Nobody asked for this, I don't even think anybody wants this, but I have a voice, and I'm gonna use it while I have a mild mental breakdown over how long it's taking me to rip their concert DVDs and consequently breaking my only USB and therefore forcing me to shell out even more money after splurging on them. Like it's fine, it only took me two hours to rip Action after spending an hour fiddling with the damn DVD reader before giving up and using a busted old laptop.
Anyway.
So to start, some general opening remarks about this whole unasked project, some rules or whatever:
They have a ton of music. I saw someone on twitter mention it a while back, but after writing down everything I need to listen to, it's a lot. There's about 11 studio albums, 13 mini albums (granted, one is a Christmas repackage + 2 new songs), and a bunch of JP singles (most of which made it into albums, but still they had to promo those).
I have no idea what to classify their clothing album Only You as. It's only 4 songs long, but I feel like that's enough to call it a mini album/extended play/whatever? Also, it has like no presence whatsoever on YouTube or Spotify, and the only reason I remember it exists is because for some reason I have the album art on a random USB (not the one I broke).
Neither Spotify nor YouTube Music have their full discography. Spotify is missing all their JP releases prior to Panic (meaning we're missing the Christmas album and a lot of b-sides), while YouTube Music has their JP discography, but is missing Collage, Moments (funny enough, the Mysterious Lady single is still there), Mono Scandal (which was there right up until last week).
While hunting for some of their music, I found an OT6 version of Ready For U that someone mixed, and I also found out there's a version of OT6 RUN A WAY, but I don't think it exists anywhere publicly.
A lot of their songs have a bunch of different versions, courtesy of their unstable lineups, but I probably won't touch on all of them. A lot of them are from their concerts, so maybe if I do concert reviews if the DVDs start cooperating, and I'm not masochistic enough to sit through every single ManManHaNi performance.
I won't do their JP singles separately, I'll do the entire album, then do the b-sides grouped by album release.
Format is something along the lines of -- actual music, music video(s), and music show stages. I found my feelings varied quite a bit from music-music video-music show due to costuming and choreo.
This is mostly for archival purposes, as in I'm just dumping all the info I know on these releases here for myself, and whomever finds it helpful. A lot of things are from my own memories from back in the day, so they might not be totally accurate since a lot of the sources are gone. Feel free to add/correct if the 10 Kissmes on here are willing.
#ukiss#uwukiss#is there even 10 of us here? i miss when there was a thriving and active community on here#i think it started tapering off in 2014

crazy - le sserafim ⚡️
chasing lightning: “i keep craving greek yogurt. i swear i could live off of it for the rest of my life / but you’re allergic. what if you get sick?” iconic + real. seriously though the structure of having it be a conversation + acknowledging so much of what they’ve been going through is really touching. i didn’t expect to cry over the opening track but it’s definitely my favorite album opener so far
crazy: way less melody than anticipated, but it suits the concept. it’s fun + fits the fimmies well. the mv was definitely the best they’ve done at nailing the visual concept within the mv, which i think they struggled with with unforgiven + easy. i liked that each member had their own motif throughout their scenes (kkura magical girl?) pre-chorus “i put myself on trial daily / in my brain” only to end the mv on “meaningless” is very on the nose.
pierrot: it’s gonna be so fun to see a live performance of this. huge potential for actually amazing remixes too
1-800-hot-n-fun: most anticipated track of the year studio version is finally here!!!! coachella week one performance you will always be iconic 🫶🫶🫶 i’m so glad they chose to introduce the song then as a live stage bc i think it made it pop so much more. it wouldn’t stand out as much after the previous two tracks, but having such a stellar introduction makes it even more exciting
crazier: producer yunjin 🤍🤍🤍 it sounds so her + it’s so lovely. cannot imagine how precious of an experience it was to write + produce a song for her members. the lyrics.. absolutely devastating. i am a ballad lover + a huh yunjin + ot5 lover through + through this is everything to me 🤍
overall
it’s been so fun being with them since pre/debut + seeing how well they’ve grown and evolved their sound already.
starting the album on “i miss my dog” and ending on “i couldn’t go crazy in my youth”
suuuch a solid concept album. i love how well they played with the idea of going / being / acting / other perceiving you as crazy. they looked at from so many different angles and sonically the ep is so broad but everything fits together well. it feels like a story, but also like a conversation between them that they’re presenting to us.
this is gonna be such a fun album to sit with too bc there are so many layers to it. lyrics, visuals, concept, choreo, etc etc. ik my thoughts on it rn vs in a month vs by winter vs the end of the year are all going to be so different and it’s gonna be soo fun to grow with it
as an overall mini, my favorite release from them for sure. it was so different from what i expected but also exactly what i’d hoped for. i am so so excited to see how they manage promotions for this era bc it’s so amazing already. it’s going to be sm fun to sit through this promo cycle
#+thoughts#+le sserafim#happiest girl in the world rn <- (can finally blast the studio version of 1-800-hot-n-fun)#as always nothing but love + respect for the fimmies 🤍🩷💚💙❤️

WIKI TOYPICS UPDATE: TFCON HAUL
Went to TFcon Anaheim, and walked out with a few choice pieces I'd been after at nice prices. And I decided to go ahead and pic them up for to add to @tfwiki.
The "big" one is one I didn't even buy, just took pics of, shown up top: the red-face/silver-weapons variant of the European-market exclusive "Rescue Force" claw-tank from 1992. I had the silver-face/red-weapon version (and I re-took pics of it so adding the variant blended better), and finally getting the chance to have the variants on at least one Rescue Force toy up on the wiki just feels good.
I've decided I want the Throttlebots back, but only if they're cheap. Freeway here was nicely cheap.
Adventure Scorponok, the Japanese release of Robots in Disguise Scorponok, was my first buy at the show, and got him for a whopping $5, which made me quite happy after a frankly terrible drive up. Lord, he's so pretty, a genuine vast improvement over the Hasbro release.
Speaking of Adventure, the last thing I got that day was the EZ Collection "Team Bumblebee VS Megatronus" pack loose. Honestly I only wanted Strongarm because Strongarm, but they were being sold as a whole set and it wasn't a bad price so hey. Once again, much improved decos, but not super-huge diffs for anyone but Strongarm.
The Japanese JUSCO-exclusive Car Robots "Original Super Indy Heat" promotional toy had slipped from my grasp a few times, but finally managed to pick him up for not-expensive. You might know him better, and in a purple/white deco, as Skid-Z from the first Robots in Disguise series.
And finally, I picked up a trio of Japanese Rise of the Beasts promotional toys: Burning Plasma Blaster, Burning Cheetor, and Burning Chainclaw. I also got Burn, an Adventure promo Mini-Con who is also a clear-red robot-to-weapon bot, who I'd been missing for years, but he already has a wiki pic. I didn't plan on getting a whole pile of clear-red weapon bots with "Burn" in/as their names, it just turned out that way.
There were a couple other small pieces, some of which will show up later. But I figured heck, let's get these out now.

Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job #36: “Road Trip” | March 2, 2009 - 12:30AM | S04E04
Tim and Eric very clearly got less and less interested in appearing on camera as this show went on, many episodes from this era only feature them in wraparound segments. Episodes where they actually participate in a non-wraparound sketch become the exception. The show doesn’t suffer for it, really, but the wraparounds definitely feel like they accomplished everything in one take and moved on.
The wrap for this episode is maybe the weakest thing in the episode, but it’s fine! I like it, even! In it, Tim takes Eric on a road trip to Fort Lauderdale where his parents are fishing. The plan is to have a womanless party in Eric’s parents hotel room while they’re away deep-sea fishing. They come back early and start boning while everyone hides in the closet. Inexplicably, they start moaning Eric’s name, which is simply beyond gross. What a gross show!
The first true sketch is Back to Squall, a really good parody of 80s comedies starring James Quall and insufferable retard Jonah Hill. Not only does it do a very good job of resembling an actual 80s movie (on an Adult Swim budget, no less), but it also does a good job at mimicking an 1980s television promo for said movie. For all it's impressive verisimilitude I do have one quibble: briefly being able to see Jonah Hill’s lame-ass tats on his arm. I remember being straight-up outraged in 2009 when I first saw it. I’ve calmed down since then. But I still don’t like looking at it.
DLH’s hilarious line about dating Barbara Streisand is in the running for one of the most quoted lines in my circle of friends. Also, there are two truly sublime moments that involve James Quall just giving up on life that they intentionally left in the episode. The faux-saccharine line “Of course I hope I never get to graduate so we can always live together” seems to be delivered while James is in the middle of powering down. This is one of my favorite jokes in all of Tim and Eric. Also the callback scene featuring an outtake of James just kinda muttering to himself in response to some off-camera stage directions (I assume) is really wonderful. There is more footage in the Extended Scenes portion of the DVD, featuring more riffing from Jonah Hill and a little more of DLH. In this version, Barbara Streisand is swapped for Geena Davis.
During on Drawing features a dude who teaches you to “draw” but all he does is apply artistic filters to photos. All the photos are of corpses laying in caskets. Very scary stuff. There’s also a Brule's Rules about using a twig instead of a toothbrush that I mention here only because I don’t want there to be two extremely short paragraphs in a row.
Cinco Boy is a very memorable sketch, featuring spokesperson Peter Stormare. The Cinco Boy is a synthetic boy that grieving mothers can purchase to replace their dead son. It is constantly replaced with older boys for as long as the mother lives. It’s a very creepy sketch, and has a great reprise where Stormare comes to her window and methodically gives her a thumbs up while she shakes her head in disgust. It’s punctuated by a great synthy musical sting. This moment hasn’t left my head since I first saw it on TV.
This sketch’s initial child funeral scene is also really funny; it features a callback to the drawing guy, seen taking paparazzi photos of the proceedings. Also a commemorative wreath with the bannered phrase “in lovin’ memory” is so fucking funny. Like, literally, just changing “loving” to “lovin’” somehow constitutes one of the funniest jokes ever told.
Also, a piece of pure video art: Mini Van Highway simply features a bunch of older men on old computers singing a electronica song about their minivan. Out of context, this one could theoretically be mistaken for a sincere music video, which is what makes it great.
The other notable extra associated with this episode is for the opening Road Trip segment: turns out to accomplish the stunt of Eric being hit with a van they actually went through the trouble of casting a plaster cast of Eric’s face and arms because they were dissatisfied with over-the-counter dummies. I accuse Tim & Eric of dashing things off lazily, but I gotta give them credit for this. For some reason
NOTE: THANK YOU TO ANOTHER MAN FOR LETTING ME STEAL A JOKE FOR THIS POST. SOME SAY STOP THE STEAL, BUT I HAVE TO DISGAGREE

This 2021 SDCC panel is also one of the reasons I couldn't agree with some of the stuff tumblr posts last year had stated... which was mostly made up! ie "Stan didn't actually work on the show" or
Like you can see the joy emanating from their faces when Stan and the cast and other crew explain their parts in the show... I can't believe any of them would hate it, whether this was a promo video or not xD Like... you don't go to a SDCC panel of the show you made if you... absolutely hated working on it. idk, it just doesn't make sense. I get that seeing a show or characters from a fandom lens makes people hate that show/characters make stuff up about the show later (i.e. other fans hating on Yuichi Usagi, just as a concept, bc of the ship/shipping, I get it) but it just seems... so strangely petty. Plus non-shipping fans might have been mad that this was not a direct adaptation.... Again I get it! I've been there with other stuff. But whether a show is good or bad, it seems mean-spirited to just lie about the crew or creators of it. It's okay to admit that you had different expectations about it. Yes, it's aimed at a younger viewership and does not directly adapt the darker aspects of the comic, but, that's wholly because of circumstance (Netflix show) and the show is good despite that. Your view of it can simply depend, well, on your view on spinoffs and animation in general, when you watched, what mood you were in. Whatever opinions fans might have, this panel seems to suggest the cast and crew had a mostly good time on it. Unless everyone here is some sort of pathological liar.

More press coverage of the Samurai Rabbit SDCC 2021 panel:
IGN, Polygon (a few pics), Animation Magazine, Geek Network, AIPTcomics (I'll add any more I find if I find smth new)
Screenrant (announcement of the Comic-Con @ home lineup) longer article on AWN (2022, about the premiere with more pics)
also, Stan's interview with the SDCC blog in 2022
"UBLOG: Samurai Rabbit: The Usagi Chronicles debuted its first season on Netflix, and has already been renewed. What was it like finally getting to see your characters come to life in that way, and how pleased are you that it was so well received? Sakai: We at Usagi Studios are very pleased with Samurai Rabbit: The Usagi Chronicles. The protagonist Yuichi is a direct descendant of my Miyamoto Usagi who is featured very prominently and with a twist that I thought was brilliant. We worked very closely with Gaumont and Netflix, approving/adjusting scripts, designs, suggesting voice actors, etc. I even calligraphed (by hand) the logo for the series. Samurai Rabbit expanded on a mini-series I created titled “Senso” inspired by HG Wells’ War of the Worlds wherein the martians invaded feudal Japan instead. Japan took that alien technology and developed it, adding their own cultural elements. Samurai Rabbit takes place in the future with Yuichi a young samurai in training who worships his famous (or infamous) ancestor, Usagi. Like my Usagi stories, Samurai Rabbit is very character driven and the first season tells of Yuichi meeting what is to become his core group of friends as they battle yokai, the haunts and monsters of Japanese folklore. I’m so glad that a second season is coming up."
i cannot imagine Stan Sakai Lying. like. LEGIT i cannot so i don't get why ppl make stuff up abt the show. it hasn't been very egregious so far, just stuff in tags and reblogs, but still. weird. fandom is weird abt stuff like this lol! I also do not get the hate that the show itself and the character of Yuichi Usagi get for basically. Not being what people imagined in their heads of an Usagi Yojimbo spinoff. I kind of get that part, because when Avatar: LOK was previewed in 2011, I imagined such a vast and colorful version of the show based on just 2 art pieces, I was caught a bit off-guard by the 1st season's premiere, and completely let down by the 2nd season. So I get that part at least. Many articles seemed to suggest that this show would be an adaptation, and I am guessing this is where people's expectations rose ten-fold in a similar way to my 2011 self. From interviews, I sense that the crew had similar expectations when they joined: a Usagi aniamted project with Stan Sakai directly involved! I'd be asking to be on the show too if I'd been a Gaumont studios member at the time.
The mountain is high and it is hard to surpass. When Netflix ordered the show to be about a younger Usagi and gear it for a younger audience too, I find that perhaps the Gaumont and Usagi Studios crew also saw this. In a fan's eyes, almost no one could match Stan Sakai in his storytelling, and the crew are big fans of his work. So it would make sense that they started to see the show they were developing differently. Instead of something like the 2003 adaptation of Miyamoto Usagi, where they make him younger and change his story a bit, the SR crew saw an opportunity. Lets make it about a descendant and a whole different setting, yeah? So the show becomes something quite different, but more manageable now. The mountain seems more like a long trek than an unpassable task.
But it also seems from every interview and official release I've seen that most of the people working on the show really liked what they made and liked working on it, even if it wasn't a direct adaptation of Usagi Yojimbo, something most of the crew were a fan of already themselves.
also, the series was worked on at least since 2018. Yeah, it's aimed at a younger audience, but a lot of effort seems to be put into it anyway, from writing, acting and art aspects all-around, so it just doesn't seem like something that people would feel the need to lie about. it's a good show. It is just not a direct adaptation of the comics, that people have been wanting, or something "style adjacent" to the comics, e.g. what people expect of the comics (that it's only dark and gritty).
A 2019 comicon.com article sharing a facebook photo at Gaumont studios with Stan is the perfect example of this - "This studio is known for their work on the original Redwall animated series. Judging by the key art shown above and Gaumont’s location in Paris, I hope that the animated series will remain faithful to the darker tone of the comics." - of course an article by a reader of the comic would have something like this, but we can see as early as this, the writer is setting themselves up for higher expectations for the series. Which I don't find fault in, who doesn't want a cool animated adaptation of their favourite comic? But comparing a studio now to what the studio was 15-20 years before is like setting the reader up for expectations that are too unrealistic. Redwall is a beautiful adaptation, but each show/series will almost always have a different team of people working on, so from an animation work POV, it just seems like something unrealistic. Animation industry, both western and otherwise, has always been something that can't always cater to all interests.
not-so-hot take but: it's actually good that it's not a direct adaptation!
The expectations people put on any adaptations/projects based on an older thing, is probably also a huge factor in why both younger and older fans (both shppers and the fans of the comic) feel so terse about the series, when in reality, it's possibly the best result we could get for a netflix adaptation (if I look at any anime/manga live-action adaptations for example, netflix has sort of "dropped the ball" on many of these). The series having loose and not-so-loose connections to the comics canon basically ensures that nothing about the comics canon is ever changed much, or that Stan is never obligated to change the comic for the show. The comic and show are allowed to be separate, but the show is also an homage and open fanart to the comic.
This also means that whether viewers hate or love the series, perhaps having a non-adaptation og series based on the comic... means they will actually read the comic itself now. I see this with both liveaction and animated adaptations, but ppl usually don't pick up the og source material based on just one adaptation, and if the adaptation is good or faithful, they still won't - thinking of TMNT 2003 but also Rise series haters who insist Raph doesn't use Tonfa, when that was a og comics reference lol - there's no trust that the animation folk working on your favourite properties adaptation are ALSO FANS of the same thing. So the chances for that might be similar. If people are happy with an adaptation, they might be less likely to seek out more of it. But I just find this series an interesting attempt from that POV. It almost feels similar to what Transmedia Storytelling is explained as a technique - of telling a story across multiple platforms, adding something unique each time.
A direct retelling is different from an original piece or continuation set in the same universe. Imagine that Usagi Yojimbo, the original comic, is like a tentpole that readers gather around. As time grows on, different animated adaptations occur, some tabletop games, a theather play etc. Different media for Usagi to inhabit as a character and a concept. And then comes along Samurai Rabbit, wholly not an adaptation of the comic's stories at all, but something inspired of it, building on it, not changing it much, but still adding to the canon in its own way (the existence of the Ki-Stone in this show). It's different but it's entirely a work made out of love for the comic, and you can see it in the different aspects it adapts from the comic (the 2D sequences, the skull-death-bubbles, the references to the comic, how it shows Miyamoto Usagi) and how it approcahes the characters as a cast.
So because Samurai Rabbit: The Usagi Chronicles is not a strict retelling of any of the comics narratives, it allows itself room to explore and grow as its own thing, while also loosely adding to the canon in an interesting and unique way.
I hope phrasing the show from that vantage point gives other existing a different view on it.
this show also credits everyone in the production, including even the 3D animation company (a lot of animated shows only credit the company itself, or at least used to do this a lot) so I think that speaks a lot about how the production sees the show itself. The people making the show are valuable and did well, whatever the reception is going to be. And genuinely, I hope it was actually a good experience working on the show for all of the cast and crew.

When I was talking about revisting the N64 games on my 2ds, it just kinda made me think about how such a big part of my life Zelda was when I was a kid. And it wasn't just the N64 games, it was the GBA games as well. The last Zelda game for me prior to the 2ds was the GBA port of A Link to the Past, no wait it was the GC versions of the NES games on that promo disc (which admittedly I didn't beat until they were on the 2ds), as I really didn't like the cutesy designs first used by Wind Waker at the time.
But it just kinda sunk in that...these are all from the Downfall timeline, meaning Fairy Boy lost. And that just stuck with me. The games I've beaten are all in that timeline minus Majora's Mask. That's kinda depressing, but I figure I might as well make something out of this.
I'm going to replay the Downfall timeline, and I'm going to do it in order like this.
A Link to the Past - SNES mini. I might have renewed my Switch Online, but I really think I should use this thing more than just letting it sit on my PS4. I also figure that the first time I ever touched a Zelda game was on my cousin's SNES as a small kid (didn't like it as it wasn't Mario or Megaman, plus I started on top of the pyramid), it'll be nostalgic to do it this way.
Link's Awakening - The Remake on the Switch, since I have a copy that I haven't really touched.
Oracle of Seasons/Oracle of Ages - Switch. Like the original LA I have this on the 2ds, but they were just added to Switch Online so why not. Starting from Seasons is going to be a pain since I had Ages as a kid and borrowed my friend's copy of Seasons for the full experience.
A Link Between Worlds - 2ds, since there is no alternative. Don't have Triforce Heroes so...
Legend of Zelda Cartoon - Since it doesn't adhere to the canon of the games all that well but can fit into the timeline here, I'm going to do it. I hated this show as a kid because it wasn't Mario.
CDI Zelda games - Yeah Right!
Legend of Zelda - Switch
Adventure of Link - Switch

20 March 2023: Clean American Version, Frank Zappa. (Rykodisc, 1995)
The reason I bought the Cucamonga compilation (see my previous post) on eBay instead of going down to Reckless Records on Belmont Avenue and buying the copy they had in stock is because an eBay seller offered this bonus item along side Cucamonga. I have several ’90s Zappa promos on the Rykodisc label, but somehow this one eluded me over the years.
Clean American Version (a line taken from the packaging of Zappa’s second album, the 1968 Absolutely Free, also the origin of the Zappa photo on the cover) is simply a sampler spanning the Zappa catalog, which had been reissued on Rykodisc at that time. Unlike the Ryko Zappa promos I already owned, this one is in a simple card sleeve and not a jewel case. So leave it to me to, while taking these photographs, have one of my famous tremors that resulted in me inadvertently whipping it into the air, juggling it to try to keep it from falling, and then slamming it down onto the ironing board, resulting in a giant crease across the top of the sleeve. I infuriated myself with this action. It was in perfect condition until that moment.
Above are the front and back of the sleeve, the crease not looking half as offensive here as it does in person.
Below is the disc itself.
This is the final of three Zappa things I bought during this mini-kick that elapsed as soon as they were in my possession.
