LUPIN III's Pokemon Teams
Okay, I'm having thoughts about Lupin III and Pokémon, so I tried to make some Pokémon teams / lore with my sweet Pokémon nerd girlfriend.
There are probably a few Pokémon lore mistakes bc I tried to synthesize and my gf knows more than me, plus probably a few mistranslations since I mostly know Pokémon in french, but bear with me !
Aipom : It's just. It's just Lupin. There are a LOT MORE monkey Pokémons than I thought, but Aipom matches the most. It's his best friend. He probably got him a matching suit because it's cute and fun and Aipom loves this.
Even if Gholdengo has been here the longest time because he inherited it, Aipom was his first real pokemon. He just found it as a kid and they became friends because they “recognized” each other, to his father dismay.
Klefti : The whole escape thing. I hesitated to give it to Zenigata, bc of the whole prison cell vibes, but I loved the more whimsical idea of Lupin having the key to every door : his Klefti.
He got it during his heists ! The lil thing probably followed him around after an adventure because it helped Lupin escapes, and Arsène just took it in since he got attached. (I also just really like that pokemon)
Gholdengo : It's a treasure pokemon really. It's made of gold and it looks silly. Fujiko probably tried to steal it from him sometimes until at one point where Lupin got genuinely upset about it, much to her surprise, and she stopped. She still makes jokes about it, but Lupin knows it's jokes. It was there before Aipom, so it's more like an old friend.
Lupin probably inherited from his grandpa of Gimmighoul and got attached to it, and later in life, as he started to travel, tried to find others to have a Gholdengo. And he did it :) He was so happy when it was finally evolving, because it meant that his friend grew up with him, and he did better with it than his grandpa.
NOT PICTURED HERE : Lupin is linked to Ho oh. He's a lucky bastard and the main character. Ho oh probably saved him in situation where Lupin's intelligence and talent couldn't save him anymore (think the scene at the end of Lupin III : The First where he could've died in the Eclipse explosion). There's a strong mutual respect between them, but Lupin, being silly, want to pet the bird, which get him to get pecked in the hair for being annoying. Ho oh never stays but look after him.
(I have no/less lore for his team but anyway)
Clawitzer : AKA a shrimp with guns. Its name in French is literally Gamblast. It's the first pokemon that came in my mind when I was thinking guns. Probably his first pokemon he caught with Lupin. I just pictured young Lupin being like "CATCH IT. IT'S LIKE YOU FR" "BUT I DON'T HAVE A POKEMON" "OKAY I'LL FIGHT IT FOR U" "WHAT."
Honchkrow : Jigen Pokemon sona ? /j No but really, it's the hat and the chest looking like a beard and the color palette that made me think of Jigen. The thing is probably as grumpy as he is, but like Jigen, actually a fucking softy. Jigen passed out in its feathers multiple times because it's so good. Hug a big bird, I beg you, it's so warm.
Lycanroc : Listen. If you know me irl, you know that I'm insane about the allegories and metaphors about wolves / wild dogs. I love people writing Jigen like an old feral dog, so loyal and so angry, like. Gah. So of course I had to give him a wolf/dog pokemon. What's better than literally a Lycanroc. He probably met it when they were staying in Alola for a heist, a night he couldn't sleep and just. Stared at each other. A weird recognition happening.
Lupin probably found him multiple times, treating that edgy looking dog like a good lil doggy when none is looking, bc that's what both Jigen and Lycanroc deserve. He loves it and took pictures because it's adorable.
NOT PICTURED HERE : we had a thought with Micka (my gf) how he was linked to Raikou. It's mostly because Lupin is linked to Ho oh, and I'm sorry, but I don't know the lore enough to really explain it, I just believe my wife. But they probably don't really get along, in a funny way. We had a whole scene where they were yelling at each others, Raikou roaring and at one point Jigen roaring back, Lupin wanted to interrupt bc what the fuck Jigen, and Jigen just "roared" at him, making him jump LMFAO. Jigen then disappeared in his hat of shame because yes indeed, what the fuck Jigen. (Raikou was pleased)
(okay, not too much lore either, I think. But I wanted a team that was Combat and/or Dragon based for Goe)
Magikarp : *sigggggh* Listen… I was going to give him Gyarados, but I had a laughing fit about him finding a Magikarp and getting weirdly attached to it. It's the only pokemon he keeps in a pretty and high quality pokeball bc he wants to keep it safe. He loves his weird pathetic red fish but gets quickly flustered and embarrassed when someone noticed that it's his fav baby. He tries to train it to become a Gyarados, bc Magikarp wants to be a Gyarados (and make papa proud !) but... it sucks so much it's funny.
Greninja/Lucario/Sawk : he had them in his samurai training and adventures. Honestly, a lot of pokemons would have fit Goemon too but those 3 were the ones that stand out to me. There's a whole respectful dynamic between them, and they don't have any pokeballs, so they wander a lot. He rarely has the 3 of them together, most of the time he has one, but they will always come if he needs them.
(also Greninja is one of my favorite pokemon and starter and idk why I really like Sawk)
He can make his Lucario Mega Evolve, but he doesn't do it much out of respect and trust since it's always a mess. (also if Magikarp ever evolves… he would definitely be able to Mega Evolve it)
Drampa : it's an old Asian dragon, it fits him. Probably also a comfort pokemon since Drampa is very calm and placid, so it wraps around him to calm him down when he feels like exploding (think also about the autistic HC for Goemon and Drampa being a fucking. weighted blanket)
NOT PICTURED HERE : Goe is definitely linked to Rayquaza. The mental image is way too cool to let it pass. The first time Rayquaza appeared during a fight, Lupin (being Goemon biggest hypeman) cheered so loudly that Goemon was quickly red of embarrassment.
(I really don't have much for Fujiko my bad)
Nickit : okay, I haven't played to Pokemon SW/SH at ALL, so I don't know much about pokemons from Galar (except Runerigus being one of my favorite pokemon), but when I saw this fox ? I knew it was for Fujiko. It's a thief fox. She actually deserves all the foxes of the game, and I hesitated to give her Vulpix or Ninetales, but Vulpix is too… cute. And Ninetales is related to yokai and even if it's basically Fujiko as a yokai, I didn't want to go for this vibe. Also, I hesitated to give her Braixen/Delphox bc I called mine Fujiko as I restarted Pokemon X/Y, but. heh. It doesn't really match.
Cofagrigus : My gf told me to put this one to remind the fact that Fujiko loves gold and treasure… but she can be scary powerful sometimes. And she would love to have a partner that can remind people of that. A bit like when she grabs Goemon around to be her scary bodyguard.
She takes really good care of it, and it LOVES her so much. A bit too protective, and scary, but also very silly since it's following her like her shadow and obey her to the spot.
Mienshao : I want a ""lady"" pokemon since Fujiko's hyperfeminity is important to her character (even if it's been used grossly too many times. Fujiko sweetie i'm so sorry you've been written by a misogynistic man). But also one that fitted her fighting style and presence. She probably trains with it, not only for pokemon fights, but for actual martial combat technics !
NOT PICTURED HERE : As Jigen is being linked to Raikou because Lupin was chosen by Ho oh, Fujiko is linked to Suicune. And if you want to know where Entei is, it's linked to my gf's OC Zack who made his way into the polycule in the RP we're doing 😔
Stoutland : This is basically him a Pokemon. The police force insisted he take an Arcanine since it's basically the police's pokemon in the pokemon world, but Zenigata still felt icky about being associated with the police all the time (this is an ACAB blog. Zenigata is just fucking naive and old-fashioned and fixated on the Lupin's chase). But he still had to have a dog pokemon to work with him. So he just. Insisted on having his family dog.
The Stoutland is an old, silly, determined dog. A bit like Zenigata and very loyal to him BUUUUT can be bribed with good food and pets, much to Zenigata exasperation, because Lupin managed to befriend the doggy.
Honedge : LISTENNNNNN AEGISLASH IS MY FAVORITE POKEMON. AND I LOVE ALL OF HIS EVOLUTION CHAIN. But !! To me, he has an old Honedge who never got to evolve because his previous owners (Zeni's family) didn't take care of it and just. Exposed it as a trophy. Then when Zenigata got him, the poor thing was too tired and old to actually fight and gain experience. But it still wanted to go on an adventure with Zenigata !! And Zenigata did give him some fantastic adventures.
And it's an obvious reference to Zenigata's jutte, bc I really picture him holding Honedge like his jutte.
NOT PICTURED HERE : as the rest of the gang, Zenigata is linked to a legendary pokemon. And it's Lugia. Mostly because it's the complimentary legendary pokemon of Lupin's Ho oh ! When they found out, it was when Lugia saved Zenigata from drowning during a chase happening at sea. While he was in awe and being emotional about it, Lupin was VIBRATING with excitement when he saw that. Because !! Zenigata was right !!! It's fate that they are rivals !!! It's amazing !!!
Anyway, I could go into a bigger rant about it, but it's already very long !
#lupin iii#arsène lupin#koichi zenigata#jigen daisuke#goemon ishikawa xiii#fujiko mine#loopzoop#(implied ! but actually. Just imagine they are all dating. for me please)#pokemon#nano.txt

[ Depot Agents, Pt 1 ]
Did this as a little warm-up yesterday and today before I jump into coms. I'm not a human artist but CSP's new tools make me feel actually competent at drawing people lmfao
I've had hcs for these three rolling around in my head since I started writing Lost and Found last year or so! Believe it or not, but these three basically keep Gear Station running if the twins are out of town (or when Emmet needs to take a mandatory leave of absence because the man's working too hard).
Uh, feel free to use these if you want, idc, just credit me I guess? I'm not the first to have HCs about the depot agents, and I won't be the last. Their personalities just kinda shined when I started writing my fic.
(Similarities to other HCs by other people are coincidental, we just all share a few braincells lmfao)
You can read my HC takes below the cut!
Cameron:
1 of 2 depot agents that's been employed before Ingo and Emmet were made Subway Bosses that was promoted to a Lead
Often doesn't wear his hat because his fro cannot be contained
He doesn't THINK he's great with Pokemon, compared to Isadore and Ramses, but he can DEFINITELY hold his own. He's just far better with being an Engineer, problem solving, and customer service.
Was contemplating quitting until Emmet saw his potential and encouraged him to stay.
Speaking of who, he's great at strategy and logistics, so Emmet likes to use him as a rubber duck to bounce ideas off of him.
Cannot be scary to save his life. A real cinnamon roll. Kids love him.
Ingo prefers that Cameron train new Depot Agents, as he's very good at explaining things and doesn't pressure them into learning things too quickly.
Likes food. He can be easily bribed with sweets.
LOVES gossiping with Jackie. If there's a betting pool for something for whatever reason, he's usually the cause of it because Jackie gave him a great scoop.
(I immediately hc'd him as black because I have a cousin named Cameron lol)
Jackie:
Not actually a cryptid, but likes letting people think that. Her commitment to the bit is VERY strong, including roping Ingo and Emmet into it. The twins appreciate her dedication to her work, but DO encourage her to actually go home after her shift...
She actually has an apartment that's right behind Gear Station. Nobody sees her go home since she takes a back exit out of the station.
Nobody knows how long she's been at Gear Station. She did work there before she transitioned. Coincidentally, that's when the rumors about her being a ghost started...
Is VERY mischievous. Isadore despises that the twins don't seem to do anything about her pranks and behavior (as long as it isn't harming anyone or being disruptive, they don't mind. Ingo at least tries to look serious if he has to scold her; Emmet couldn't do that to save his life)
Furze and Cloud have seen her all of about 3 times since they started. Furze screamed when he first saw her (well, she did purposefully scare him...)
Usually runs the night shift. It's very rare she's scheduled during the day, and she will bitch about it the entire time.
No pronouns, do not perceive her (she jokes; she's trans)
Loves to bake. There's often pastries in the break room waiting for the morning crew.
Is a strong trainer. Prefers ghost types, though she has an Aipom that was gifted to her that often follows her around.
Will not hesitate to use her cryptid-like abilities to scare unruly passengers into behaving. She has a particularly low tolerance for creeps and perverts. It's rumored that riding the Single's train at night is the safest way to travel because Jackie does NOT put up with that sort of behavior.
(Isadore begs Jackie to stop scaring passengers. He doesn't want to have to submit another report, even though he greatly appreciates her dedication to protecting passengers).
Isadore:
@pigdemonart and I seemed to share the SAME BRAINCELL with this guy's design. I swear, I hadn't seen it before I did my initial sketches of him XD. I think we all just kinda decided "yeah, he seems like a serious guy" and ran with it
The other depot agent that was employed before Ingo and Emmet took over.
Used to be a punk in his youth, until his parents forced him to take a job at Gear Station to get him some structure and discipline in his life. Then he just kinda decided he really enjoyed it (maybe because his bullying turned into bossing others around to keep them in line)
(Really, he reminds me of Higashi, just older)
Salt and pepper hair. Is definitely daddy material
Looks scary, is scary. But is more "stern father" scary. Really, he doesn't want anyone ending up like he was as a teen/young adult. He won't hesitate to be the dad of the crew to provide some 'tough love'.
Great at customer service. But sometimes Cameron has to reassure people that he's [probably] not mad. He just always looks like that.
Can make jokes, they're just delivered in the most deadpan way possible.
Secretly likes dramas and romance novels.
[ Lost and Found Tidbits ]
(Don't mind these if you haven't read the fic! OC interactions ahead!)
Cameron prefers working with Emmet, Isadore prefers working with Ingo, and Jackie doesn't mind either if she works a day shift (though she works with Shey when she stands in for Ingo)
Isadore handles stress by working even more, which is terrible for both himself and Emmet. He'll work himself to death in order to give Emmet a break.
Jackie and Shey are best friends, somehow. Rumor has it that Jackie hung out at Shey's condo after work once, though neither one will corroborate this rumor.
Out of the three, Cameron is the best at handling someone who is overstimulated. Isadore is the worst, but he IS the best at yelling at anyone who dares to get close. Man knows how to clear a room.
Jackie loves joking about how handsome she thinks Isadore is. She doesn't have any romantic interest in him, but it IS one of the few ways to get Isadore to look flustered and distracted (and when she means it seriously, Isadore does appreciate it). Cameron will join in if he's around.
Cameron and Isadore are a formidable duo when they battle together. Though, Cameron surprisingly battles well alongside anyone.
Bonus: Isadore without his hat. He kind of reminds me of TF2 Medic, too lmfaoooo
#Depot Agents#Pokemon Black and White#submas#Depot Agent Cameron#Depot Agent Jackie#Depot Agent Isadore#These three are my favorites somehow#idk how that happened but#I'm getting better at drawing humans! Level Zeo's Brilliant Diamond Nuzlocke - Part 4
It’s Nuzlocke time again baby. I took a break for a few days and had a great time with my loved ones, but now I’m back and better than ever! If you are just joining me for my journey, where I talk about what happens in my Nuzlocke while also telling you about what personalities I think my Pokemon have, then you need to go catch up on the other parts. You can read parts 1-3 HERE, HERE, and HERE. It’s okay, I’ll wait for you to come back. If you’re all caught up, then let’s get into things.
Current Team
Simmer the Monferno
Boof the Bibarel
Doc the Zubat
Petard the Geodude
Orion the Luxio
Puddle the Psyduck
Boxed Pokemon: 3
Deaths: 1
Badges: 1
When I last updated, I mentioned that I spread honey on a couple of trees. Doing so means that it's time to get my encounters for Floaroma Meadow and Route 205. Checking on the trees, I ended up with Dex the Aipom from Floaroma, and Silk the Wurmple from 205.
Dex has a Relaxed nature and is Somewhat Stubborn. She’s a dextrous little monkey who doesn’t take anything seriously. She sees battling as nothing more than a weird complicated game, even as others like Simmer or Puddle try to tell her otherwise. It seems like putting her on the team at this moment wouldn’t be a good idea, so it is off to the box she goes.
Silk has a Quiet nature and Likes to Relax. She’s a sleepy little Wurmple. Unless something goes very wrong, or I desperately need her specific move coverage, she will probably stay in the box, which is perfectly okay with her. While others in the box run around and play (Snek, Bonny, and Dex), she just takes naps. Before I let her sleep though, I leave her on the team for a couple of wild encounters just to see what she will evolve into. Orion keeps a watchful eye while Doc drains the life from some wild Buizel. After gaining one level, Silk becomes a Silcoon. And then she gets put in the box to nap.
Before I make my way further down Route 205, I decide to circle back to Jubilife. I want to get more apps for my watch and stop at the TV center to do the lottery. While there, I make the mistake of talking to a random clown, who pulls out a Mr Mime to attack me without mercy. Orion sees the danger and stands between the team and the murderous mime. He does what he can, but gets beaten down hard by the clown’s attacks. Boof jumps in to take an attack that would have probably killed Orion, and hits Headbutt after Headbutt into the Mr Mime. Eventually, both combatants are in the red. Despite the fears of both myself and Simmer, the Monferno enters battle to hopefully end this before we lose anyone. Luckily, the mime only uses Pound, and Simmer can land a Mach Punch on the next turn to win.
That was terrifying. What is it with this city and clowns? If I was even a little less lucky, Orion, Boof, or even Simmer could have died. Somehow we survived though, and it will take a lot to make me come back to Jubilife. I run all the way back to Route 205, and continue with my Pokemon journey.
The team fights the many trainers on Route 205. Puddle is more and more becoming an excellent member of the team, easily destroying the rock and fighting types being thrown against us, proving her psychic abilities. And if she can’t handle it, then Boof and Petard are always more than happy to get in there and fight together.
We eventually make it to Eterna Forest, where we both meet and agree to chaperone Cheryl. Her ability to keep all of my pokemon healthy is highly valuable, and I make good use of it in order to train the team in preparation for the next Gym.
While we bumble about in the forest, I encounter a Murkrow who I name Corva. She is Rash and Quick Tempered. An ex-mob boss who was deposed by her former second-in-command, Corva is the kind of Pokemon who would plot someone’s death for even a perceived slight. She is looking to form a new criminal empire and to use it to exact her revenge. I send her to the box, hoping she doesn’t turn any of the other Pokemon in there to a life of crime.
Knowing that the next Gym is going to be grass type, I focus on training Doc and Simmer, probably my two Pokemon who would get along the least. They are both very particular and like things being done in a certain way, so their wants and needs often clash. Simmer finds Doc to be a dangerous, evil, selfish little bat. On the other side, Doc sees Simmer as a cowardly fool, and still somewhat blames the Monferno for our Nuzlocke’s first death. In fact, his desire to show up my starter causes Doc to train himself to evolution, evolving into a Golbat!
With our training done, we say goodbye to Cheryl and leave Eterna Forest. Orion fights off some fishermen who try to bother us, and we enter Eterna City. Apparently Team Galactic has been kidnapping Pokemon and bike salesmen, but we have no time to focus on that, we have a Gym to defeat! The Gym trainers are easily defeated, so let’s skip right to the main event, the fight against Gardenia. Second Gym battle, start!
Round 1 is against Cherubi. Doc looms large about the grass type in his now evolved form, and he easily defeats them with a single Poison Fang. Round 2 brings out a Turtwig, and Doc stays in, confident that his superior intellect and abilities will allow him to defeat this Gym by himself.
Unfortunately, Doc is a little too confident. His Poison Fang is not enough to kill this time, and the Turtwig is able to set up a Reflect. Doc knows that brute strength won’t be enough now, so as Turtwig gets healed with a potion, Doc is able to confuse it with Supersonic. With his foe debilitated by confusion, Doc goes back on the offensive with Poison Fang, dealing a little less than half as Turtwig uses Work Up. That Reflect will make this somewhat more difficult. Fortunately for us, Doc’s attack also inflicts poison, dealing a little more damage. Another attack from Doc puts the Turtwig into the red, but the grass type breaks out of its confusion and lands a Critical Razor Leaf before succumbing to poison damage. Doc’s ego must take a blow here. He is not stupid enough to risk himself against Gardenia’s ace after that Razor Leaf. With a sigh and a sneer, he switches out for Simmer.
Final Round. Simmer vs Roserade. The grass type begins with a Stun Spore, an attack that could potentially cripple us and lose us this battle, but Simmer is able to dodge effortlessly and hit a Flame Wheel, leaving the Roserade with a nasty burn. The opponent eats their berry, but the extra health will not be enough to save them, especially as the Reflect that had been set up finally runs out. Grass Knot does about a quarter of Simmer’s health, while my Monferno hits with a Critical Flame Wheel, knocking out the Roserade for good, and winning us our Second Gym Badge!
Forest Badge Obtained!
Two Badges down, and no new losses! The team is riding high despite Doc’s distaste at not being the one to bring down the final opponent. We gain access to Cut, which will allow us to finally take care of this city’s pesky Galactic problem. A problem I will take care of next time. Also on my list of things to do next time is to enter the Grand Underground. I think I will probably give myself one encounter for each Zone, giving me a total of six encounters from the underground. Something to look forward to as the journey continues.

*shaking your hand SO enthusiastically* OP, my buddy. my mutual who doesn't know you're my mutual, I actually only just found your blog today lmao, but all I needed to see was "silly fic writer??? check! likes Leaf??? check! surprise mention of Pokemon-based idioms? check! makes rare pair ships? unexpected check for something that wasn't even on the list. gets comment over sfw works?? oh FEEL that. It's a concern of mine." I don't have many unique idioms, but maybe you'll like one of them for your list. I think you have the usual, "Speak of Giratina" and "Holy Lugia" "Tauros Crap" maybe "Hurricane Kingdra" or "Curl of the Aipom's Paw" "Let Sleeping Ursaring Lie" "Jumping Jumpluff" "Into the Seviper's Den" "Don't Count Your Torchic Before They Hatch" "They've Gone Mankey" "Ekan's Oil Salesman" "Copperajah in the Room" "You're the Combee's knees" "I'll Keep Beating This Dead Rapidash until the Milktank Come Home" "Krookodile Tears" "The Skitty is Out of the Bag" "You'll be Sleeping with the Feebas" "Don't go on a wild Far-Fetched Chase" "Bite the Bullet Seed" "Mankey See, Mankey Do" "Pull a Buneary Out of A Hat" "Grin Mareepishly" "Don't Act like Such a Shuppet" "Bigger Magikarp to Fry" "The Best Thing Since Sliced Fidough/Slowpoke Tail" "Luvdisc on your Sleeve" "Wish Upon a Minior" "I Smell a Raticate" "Voltorb's in Your Court" Twitter = Chatot. "A Blissey in Disguise" "Wanna play Amoongus?"
(I don't have a handshake sticker so this will have to do-)
Well, welcome to my blog, anonymous asker! This is my main blog, but this silly fic writer is going to post all her future Pokémon fics onto a sideblog. There's nothing there as of the moment, but a character page for the female protagonists is in the works, as well as the previously mentioned four-act LA fic.
But yes! I love Leaf! I adore all of the female protagonists truly, but I have a sort of special bond with her since FireRed was one of the first games in the series I played, after Ruby. I was deeply disappointed when she wasn't the one up on Mt. Silver in HGSS instead of Red, for those who played as Kotone/Lyra.
I could talk about my AU's incarnation of Leaf for a very long time. Some of my friends here have seen me do so.
And oh, do I have some rare pairs! I have pairs that are so rare, I'm the one who had to concoct a '-shipping' name! Wieldershipping is one of them since everyone else was using 'Volokari' for some reason, instead of following fandom tradition.
And to close this ask off, here's a few more Pokémon-based idioms from The Document:
The Copperajah in the room
Jumping the Sharpedo
Busy as a Combee
Like a Dustox to a flame
Crying Totodile tears
Taking a Tauros by the horns
Packed like Wishiwashi
Making a mountain out of a Diglett hill
Bullying a Dragon-type
And finally,
"I know this is a joke, but just remember that if you go knocking on enough doors asking to see The Renegade, eventually it may answer."

Cross Evo Arc: A Moment of Reflection Before the Finale
Finally, we're here. The Elite 4. I genuinely did not think we were going to make it here in Renegade Platinum, I genuinely did not know if it was possible with these little guys. But we have.
So, I'd like to take a moment to shout out the heroes who have helped us on this journey.
Koishi the Roselia
Our starter, Koishi was an early game powerhouse, and late-game a valuable niche member of the team. Her Energy Balls and Sludge Bombs took care of many an Azumarill, and her decent Sp Def stat allowed her to survive when sometimes, I thought, she would not.
Mokou the Magby/Magmar
Looking back, I realize just how insanely lucky it was to get a Magby out of the random egg in Renegade Platinum's Jubilife. I otherwise would not have been able to get this encounter until after Gardenia - yet Mokou was essential to my early-game, especially helpful because it allowed me not to have to worry about the level cap of 16 on Koishi. But her usefulness didn't end there. Mokou consistently provided switch-ins to powerful steel types such as Magnezone and decimated them with Flamethrower in return. Her Psychic and Aura Sphere were not to be underestimated, either.
Momoyo the Onix
Thanks to the buffs given to Onix by drayano, Momoyo was truly a force to be reckoned with in this run. She single-handedly defeated Roark, and proceeded to be Mars and Jupiter's worst nightmare. She set up Rocks, she beat up flying types, she quaked the earth, she ate resist berries - Momoyo was very versatile and very essential to the run.
Raiko the Electabuzz
Raiko was definitely one of the most used mons in the entire run. Specs, Life Orb, and Expert Belt Thunderbolts were almost all she needed to handle a majority of trainers in Sinnoh - especially the dozens of Swimmers. But every once in a while, a stray grass turtle would wander into her range. And upon being met with a Hidden Power Ice, they would realize it was their last mistake.
Hina the Tangela
I knew going in that Hina would be incredibly useful, I mean, just look at how insanely tough Eviolite Tangela is to kill. But I could not predict just how many times the entire run rested on this little girl's shoulders. Play Rough, Double-Edge, if it was a neutral hit, Hina ate it up with no problem, and holding her trusty Big Root, she sapped it all back up with a shockingly strong base 100 Sp Atk Giga Drain and Leech Seed. And if it was a resisted hit like Earthquake or Aqua Tail? Well that just healed her.
Megumu the Murkrow
Um... did Murkrow do....... anything?
Satori the Aipom
Obviously, Aipom wasn't going to do anything - or so I thought! For Gardenia, Aipom set up a SubPass into Mokou that won the battle. Late-game, Aipom's Fake Out + Last Resort combo obliterated Dahlia's Jolteon without giving it a chance to do any shenanigans - and this same combo won an unshown but really difficult double battle on Victory Road.
Kutaka the Farfetch'd
Another Pokemon graciously buffed by drayano, Farfetch'd was another mon that the run would have been impossible without. With 110 base speed, being the fastest on the team, and 110 base attack, being the strongest on the team, it's STAB Flys and Close Combats wreaked havoc on bug, fighting, and dark types... as well as the god of time.
Yuuma the Sneasel
Sneasel, the Pokemon who gave me the idea for this run in the first place. Like many others, she was designed as a stand-alone Pokemon! Unlike many others, she was actually designed... well! She's fast, she's strong... just not quite as fast and strong as her later evolution. I'll say this again, without Yuuma, this run would have been in no way possible. Switching in on Psychic type moves for my many Psychic-weak team members such as Sukuna, then outspeeding and one shotting any frail Psychic type (namely Alakazam). Being able to hold on to a Focus Sash with moves such as Swords Dance, Dig, and Brick Break able to handle things Sneasel normally wouldn't beat. Truly, Yuuma was an invaluable offensive threat.
Remilia the Gligar
Early on, Remilia was defensively EVd, yet still managed to deal big damage with her Aerial Ace and Bulldoze. Resisting Bug, Fighting, Electric, Poison, and Ground, Remilia was a key switch in, as well as an offensive and defensive threat, throughout the entire game. Later on, Remilia was re-EVd to be more offensive, in order to guarantee OHKOs on Pokemon like Infernape, Luxray, and Electivire. Remilia beat Byron and Volkner, and played an essential role in the difficult final battle against Lucas.
Eirin the Chansey
This run would not be possible without Eirin THIS RUN, WOULD NOT, AT ALL, IN ANY WAY, BE POSSIBLE WITHOUT EIRIN. There's a reason many people ban Blissey from use in Nuzlockes, and that's because basically any special attacking Pokemon can be completely neutralized. Seismic Toss, Toxic, and Soft-boiled were her bread and butter, and Jolteon's ran in fear. Focus Blasts missed on purpose. She was a giant wall, and no one could climb her. And it was all thanks to her elixir to see the future that we were able to rewind several times after deaths to prove that this run was theoretically possible.
Sagume the Togetic
Though we didn't see much of Sagume, she was our primary answer to Kingdra, being immune to Dragon moves and taking surprisingly little from Ice Beam. I wish we had seen more of her, but Togetic was consistently outclassed as a Fairy type, Ground Immunity, and Fighting Resistance by another member.
Sekibanki the Misdreavus
In Renegade Platinum, Misdreavus is a Ghost/Fairy type, and thanks to that, Sekibanki has earned a spot in the top 2 offensive threats right up there with Yuuma. Countless fights were won with Sekibanki as a win condition, from her obliterating Palkia with a Moonblast to her Calm Mind-boosted attacks sweeping entire teams when she was given the chance. Though base 85 Sp Atk isn't a ton, the high base power of Moonblast and Shadow Ball, her useful coverage in Thunderbolt, her access to items such as Expert Belt and Choice Specs, and ultimately - her special bulk, were what allowed Sekibanki to be a top menace of my team. Dragons beware.
Komachi the Scyther
Komachi definitely helped battle Team Galactic a few times, but her most notable achievement was in the fight against Maylene, where she OHKOd a Machamp with her Technician Aerial Ace.
Yuyuko the Porygon
Yuyuko was slow, frail, and weak. She never did a single thing other than almost die once. Had I allowed myself to evolve her, I'm sure she would have been very useful, and I think Porygon2 is even a justifiable mon to include, but I decided against it, as Porygon WAS designed as a stand-alone mon.
Kogasa the Lickitung
Kogasa surprised me with how ultimately useless she was. With a great movepool and decent bulk, I thought I might use Lickitung in at least one battle, and though she was brought along for Wake, she didn't actually make any appearances. I hope she enjoyed the box :<
Keiki the Girafarig
You might expect me to start insulting Keiki like I have many other generally not useful mons, but a) I would never do that as I love both Keiki and Girafarig too much and b) though I would never have called her essential, Keiki DID help out in quite a few trainer battles! Usually, she had to hold a Focus Sash, but this allowed her to freely fire off Psychics and Thunderbolts.
Eternity the Yanma
Though Yanma is not recorded as having done anything in my playthrough documentation, Eternity mowed through Galactic grunts and double battles alike with her powerful Compound Eyes Hurricanes! Her 4x resistance to fighting allowed her to switch in and retaliate, but most of the time, she held a Focus Sash to compensate for her frailty.
Letty the Corsola
Corsola was also, thankfully, the beneficiary of a large buff in Renegade Platinum. Her Defense, Special Defense, and Special Attack were all greatly increased. This allowed Letty to run Modest 252 HP 252 Sp Atk and tank most hits like a beast without fear of death even to a super-effective move, so long as it wasn't grass type. She always ran her trusty Surf and Power Gem, supplemented by exchangeable moves such as Ice Beam, Protect, Scald, and Stealth Rock. It's very possible that Letty will be coming into the Elite 4.
Sukuna the Qwilfish
Qwilfish also got buffed in Renegade Platinum - most significantly, she was given her hidden ability in later generations, Intimidate. This allowed Sukuna to serve just as vital a role on the team as Hina - but resisting most types Hina was weak to, and vice versa. The combination of Hina and Sukuna created an incredible defensive AND offensive core, as like Hina, Sukuna could hit way harder than you'd expect for this little fully defensively invested fish with powerful Waterfalls and Gunk Shots. Most of the time, Hina ran the same 4 moves: Waterfall, Gunk Shot, Taunt, and Spikes - and for good reason, that's pretty much all you'll ever need. But what must be remembered is the time I scoured Qwilfish's learnset for a strategy that required Hina be the one to beat Cyrus's Weavile... and found Revenge. Hina's Revenge stopped the Swords Dancing Weavile in its tracks and made Cyrus, by all accounts, feel like a little, little man.
With this typed, it's time to fight Barry, and subsequently, prep for the Elite 4. What 6 members will be chosen?!

Ok here are emy shinies I think they're very cool and I want to brag about them
Legends Arceus Shinies - I have a lot of shinies in legends Arceus because shiny hunting is actulay kinda easier in this game
Sans the Parasect - my first ever shiny pokemon!! I got her in a mass outbreak I named her sans because I asked my sibling what I should name her and they kept naming Undertale things
Pyrite the Golem - ok so I was in the coronet highlands doing the quest where you helpt the spheal down the mountain and the path you go down has a static alpha golem spawn so I was just going down and BAM SHINY FUCKING ALPHA GOLEM. WHAT THE FUCK. One of my coolest pokemon in my opinion
Casper the Hisuian Zoroak - ONE OF MY DREAM SHINIES!!!!!!!!!!!!! I got him kind of recently and he's one of my dream shinies I fucking love him so much
Nanab the Ambipom - Ok this was also one of my first shinies I got not long after Sans. I just evolved her into Ambipom just now because I realized I could do that I got her pretty quickly from a mass outbreak I didn't even have to reset I named her nanab because nanab berries are basically banana and theyr pink and shiny aipom id a pink monkey
Kyle the Glalie- Ok so I was trying to catch thundurs and there's a shit ton of glalie around that are. Annoying. and I was flying around and suddenly this mother fucker shows up. Out of the blue. I don't have any particular feelings about him so I named him Kyle
Mossy the Zubat - I was looking for wisps and she spawned way below me and I was like "OH MY GO" one of the few green shiny pokemon I like
Polaris the Ponyta - the game actually gives you this one for free you have to catch it for a request and it's a guaramteed catch. I wanted to name it after a blue star and I thought Polaris but Polaris isn't blue. But the word Polaris feels blue to me so shhhhhh
Pokemon Infinity - This is a fangame so it doesn't exactly count but I still think they're really cool
Ourple the female Nidoran - At the beginning of my playthrough was walking back and forth in he grass on the first route because I wanted to catch an egho fearow and on my second encounte FUCKING SHINY NIDORAN OUT OF THE BLUE I was amazed
Godzilla the Feraligatr - I'm pretty sure this one's a guaranteed shiny? Donny the shiny hunter mentions "hey a discolored feraligate went into the sewers" and I went to the sewers and I see a pokemon standing there and m like what Pokemon is that so I fight or and realize it's shiny feralgator so I caught her. apparently feraligatr is greener but I guess in Pokemon infiniy they changed it to be black and pink because Godzilla is black and pink. Also I caught her in a love ball I bought which was nice. She's ob my team currently but I don't really know if I'll keep her because i already have a good water type on my team (cross the Blastoise)
Pokemon Sword
Valentine the Slyveon - I got them from my friend valentine dime @hopjam and they're so fuxking cool. They know the egg move wish and they have the pokerus. And the great friends ribbon. And they carried me through opal's gym I would not have won without valentine. I love them so muchajajanansjajajjahshshahabahhahshdgdhshs !!!!!!!!!!!!!
The pokerus can spread btw so bc of valentine my starter Steve now also has pokerus
I don't have any shiny Pokemon in pokemon scarlet. I almost found one I remember I tried to make my pokemon autobatrle another pokemon and they refused even at full health to which only happens when it's a shiny (I don't remember which Pokemon it was) but I didn't know this at the time. So I didn't realize it was shiny. So I think I missed out on a shiny Pokemon and I'm so disappointed about that
#rambling#I also have a shiny buneary in Arceus but I'm planning to trade him to valentine so I'm not listing it but I thought it was worth mentionin

So. Favorite Warden other than Ingo, eh? For me that's Iscan, hands down.
When first going through the game, his was the only name I could remember without looking it up, I just liked him that much! (You know. Other than Ingo. But that was only because I already knew him.)
He's just a sweet teddy bear of a man, but is also the definition of bravery. I immediately fell in love with this sweet man the moment I met and started to get to know him. Man's afraid of ghosts (understandable. And to be fair, Dusknoir (which an Alpha one hangs out where the Duskull and Dusclops spawn) is said to be a psychopomp... And most Ghost-types want to eat your soul anyway, so I can see why he avoids that place!) and gets intimidated by most other things, and so has set his house up on a hill to be surrounded by friendly monke(s)! I can absolutely see him just sitting in the grass, playing his little flute while Aipom swarm around him, just playing and messing with him like monke is want to do. Living on Aipom Hill actually sounds really nice and relaxing, tbh. Friendly monkey friends and a nice view! Can see why he set himself up there!
And just... He's such a good character! He doesn't really need to grow or have a character arc, because he's already such a great guy! (Palina gets all the character focus and development in that little arc of the game, and for good reason.) Like, his biggest flaw as a character/big defining trait is that he scares easy. But he is by no means a coward. Bravery is not defined by not being afraid of things. Recklessness and stupidity are more in line with that definition. But rather bravery is measured by being afraid of something, but having the strength of character to do what needs to be done anyway. He may be scared, but he'll always do what's right regardless! And we know that he's saved at least one life because of this bravery! And you know what? His romance with Palina is very cute. I hope those crazy kids make it work out and stay together. Also he looks like he would give GREAT hugs, and I really like his little <:3c face. Also also silly wave hairline may be hard to draw, but is very fun. I really hope that we can get confirmation on a descendant of his at some point. My biggest hope is that he has a descendant that will be introduced in Scarlet and Violet, and we can get confirmation that he and Palina did end up together in the end.
And what can I say? Out of anyone in the clan that's mostly young, attractive people, I chose the one middle-aged guy as my favorite. I always love me my middle-aged dudes! But that's purely a personal taste thing. (And a reason that I tend to like the Pearl Clan more than the Diamond Clan lol.)
Plus he gives you access to one of the most useful Ride Pokemon in the entire game! Finally! Your ass doesn't drown the second you even think of trying to get near a deep body of water! Even if trying to complete Pokedex tasks while out on the water with Basculegion is hell and I hate it! :D
Iscan’s the favorite!
Iscan is genuinely a fantastic character. @maniac-reboggles put it together very nicely. He is such a caring character and was there for Palina when she needed someone. He didn’t care for the fued between the clans at all, and disregarded that to help her. And he helps you, the protag as well, despite needing to confront something that terrifies him to do so!
The man might come off as a bit meek, and have a phobia that makes it hard to deal with certain things, but he pushes past that to be the epitome of bravery. Saving Lord Arcanine’s pups for Paulina. Being with her despite how clans say not to. Confronting his terror of ghosts to help you. Going to firespit island despite finding the lighting and bandits terrifying. Seriously, Iscan is a wonderful character. Both you and the first anon put it well, mentioning that Iscan is a very brave character!
I would also love to possibly see a Palina and Iscan descendant in SV or some other game haha! Those two are great together. The first Anon is right, their relationship really gives them a very interesting appeal, and a great dynamic.
(And I agree, Basculegion is an incredibly useful ride Pokémon! Thank you Iscan!)
As the second anon put it in their last paragraph, Iscan is just wholesome haha. Can’t say it enough, what a great character!
Iscan is great!

Sunday night update! Who knows how much I get to play during the week, this may be it for a while...
Well, after Whitney, it's time for some catching!
But first... why did your parents do this to you?
Starting off with a Ledyba, who could maybe some day be a Kamen Rider.
Of course, the gift Eevee from Bill named for a Greek gpd that is ever-changing. Not planning to evolve yet.
And a Magnemite! Named for my friend who told me "It"s not my fucking Pokémon, name it yourself" when I asked for a nickname suggestion. Ironically, I think this would be a great replacement on the team for Audrey, given what we discussed last update.
Then, after making it Olivine, I grab the Great Rod and go fishing/Headbutting to fill out some encounters.
Phew...
Mimi the Poliwag is a six degrees of Kevin Bacon reference to Digimon and the episode where a bunch of Otamamon and Gekomon think she's their princess.
Rosemary for Magikarp because she's currently trying to grind hers up to take on Whitney.
Smuckers for Tentacool because she's a JELLYfish.
Ross for Aipom because I'm STILL FUCKING MAD THAT ROSS GELLER HAS A MONKEY IN FRIENDS AND WE'RE SUPPOSED TO FEEL BAD WHEN IT GETS TAKEN AWAY.
Eugene the Mr. Krabby and Nightlight the Chinchou are pretty obvious, I think.
That's it for the encounters... although I do accidentally kill a Miltank and a Koffing, losing two possible encounters and accidentally locking myself out of anything in Violet City.
Part 2: Morty incoming shortly because Tumblr image limits.

Pokemon That Look Like Perverts
Here’s a post I’ve wanted to make for a long time. Actually I originally wanted to do it as a Twitter thread, but never got around to it. In part because I hate that blue website even worse than this blue website. But I have strong opinions about this. This isn’t about what Pokemon I like or don’t like, or which designs I think are good are not. It’s just about which Pokemon are, at the end of the day, into some creepy shit probably. I’ve tried to be as objective as I can but of course, true objectivity is impossible. First, some ground rules:
1) Though there is some overlap, being furry bait does not a pervert make. It’s not Lopunny’s fault she looks like that and people are weird about it.
2) I do not accept criticism.
That being said, here’s the list:
Gloom Looks like a Redditor. At least he grows out of it.
Machoke His name has “choke” in it and he is in prime thrusting position. You could make an argument about Machamp too but I’ll believe Machamp is a hard-working himbo over this motherfucker.
Cloyster You ever heard of the movie “Teeth”?
Drowzee & Hypno I mean Hypno is WAY worse but they’re both definitely Up To Something and I do not trust them.
Lickitung I shouldn’t have to explain this.
I know you’re expecting Mr. Mime but no. Mr. Mime is creepy, but not a pervert. Don’t come at me about how Mr. Mime canonically fucks, I don’t want to hear it! I’m not here to kinkshame Ash’s mom! However, I’ll be checking back in with you later.
Jynx Now Jynx on the other hand absolutely is a pervert. And racist.
Magmar This one pains me because I had a shiny Magmar in my first playthrough of Crystal, but he has an ass on his face, he’s leering at you, and his original name is “Boober.”
Miltank Now I know what you’re thinking. “Why Miltank? Like she’s annoying to fight but she’s just a cow!” She also drinks her own milk right in front of you. Think about it.
Slaking He’s grabbing his right tit and leering at you while doing the full Jeff Goldblum sidelean. Of course he’s a pervert.
Ambipom Now I didn't put Aipom on the list but something about Ambipom makes me uncomfortable but I can't quite put my finger on it. Ambipom could, though. And would.
Toxicroak I don’t have an argument for this but look at it.
I’m actually not going to put Lickitung’s evolution Lickilicky on here. Yeah I know it’s twice the licking but like look at him. He looks like a big doofus doing the world’s largest blep. Lickitung looks like he’s going to lick my ear on a crowded subway.
Timburr, Gurdurr, Conkeldurr Oh god oh christ they’re so veiny. Stop looking at me.
Scraggy & Scrafty The only Pokemon expressly designed to be ready to flash you.
Cofagrigus Keep your hands to yourself.
Greninja Jesus H. Mackenzie Christ
Diggersby While I will lay down my life in Lopunny’s defense, Diggersby on the other hand looks like he’d wolf whistle at me while passing a construction site. “Jack why haven’t you put Inceneroar when you put Machoke on here?” Because he’s not conspicuously wearing underpants despite being a battle pet. And because he’s my best friend, shut up!!!
Salazzle I love the BDSM lizard as much as the next person but look at her? Look at her. Yeah I said “it’s not enough to be furry bait” but this magnificent bitch is not an innocent bystander.
Guzzlord Almost all of the Ultra Beasts could potentially qualify for the list but I just want to highlight Vore Incarnate here.
Inteleon This lizard is an incel. What happened to our sweet boy Sobble? Where did we go wrong as parents?
Cramorant CRAMORANT IS THE ONLY POKEMON THAT CANONICALLY VORES ANOTHER POKEMON.
Grimmsnarl Grimmsnarl is the Pokemon that inspired me to make this list. I watched my Morgrem ascend into this hair-covered creep in horror. I said, out loud, “oh no, he looks like a pervert” and I knew what dark work lay ahead of me.
Obstagoon Look this guy's based on the guys from KISS and I know all those old bastards are perverts.
Mr. Rime Remember when I said Mr. Mime isn’t a pervert but I’ll get back to you? Anyway, that’s my list. Again I accept no criticism but I may adjust this later. Thank you.

What are everyone’s teams in your Pokemon au? Do you have a plot set out or is it a more causal au?
Oooooh this is a fun one
You'd better fucking BELIEVE we have a plot set up, I have poured so much effort into the Pokemon au
Okay, so: when it comes to teams, I decided that everyone should have at least one legendary Pokemon in their party as a way to be faithful to the ace monster concept, but it wasn’t until much later into the au that I realized I’d failed to do that with Sora’s team, which led to a very fun plot point involving his secret 7th Pokemon he keeps in his box
Teams under the cut because it’s gonna be a long one, boys
Yuya has: Groudon, Sandshrew, Popplio, Hippopotas, Aipom, and Ekans
In his box, he’s got Phanphy, Charmander, Politoad, Ducklett, Liepard, Skorupi, and Lycanroc (Midnight form)
I wanted him to have as many Pokemon as he could that reminded me of the monsters in his deck, and since Yuya is a coordinator in this au instead of a regular trainer, it just felt right that he’d have a lot of different partners he could swap out for various contests
Also I’m mad that there isn’t a legendary dragon that looks like Odd Eyes, so I had to give Yuya Groudon instead, making him the only Yu boy in this au to not have a legendary dragon type Pokemon
Yuto has: Eternatus, Bisharp, Aegislash, Aggron, Lucario, and Shadow Rider Calyrex
Okay listen, I know I was supposed to only give everyone One legendary Pokemon, but with Calyrex I feel justified because it looks So Much like it could be one of Yuto’s Phantom Knights, I mean
Just look at it
Yuto gets to have two legendaries to make up for Arc-V killing him off so early into the show
Aside from this guy, the rest of Yuto’s team just felt like it should be comprised of steel types ow the edge so that’s what I gave him. His Pokemon are as edgy as he tries to appear to be and that is enough to amuse me.
There also weren’t exactly many good Pokemon equivalents of his archetype, so I made do with what I had.
Yugo has: Latios, Scizor, Claydol, Porygon 2, Ponyta (Shiny), and Sudowoodo
Yugo was honestly so hard to come up with a team for because all his Speedroid cards are just like... toys and stuff for the most part, so I agonized over what I should pick for him for a Long time. In the end, I feel like I got close enough to his general aesthetic with the Pokemon I picked.
(His Ponyta is there because of Speedroid Horse Stilts, and while it is a shiny, the dumbass has no idea about it, and thinks he just happened to get a special blue horse that was born a little differently- he never claimed to be smart.)
He also deadass thought Sudowoodo was a grass type for the longest time. Rin had to be the one to tell him it wasn’t.
“Yugo. Sudowoodo? It sounds like pseudo? As in fake wood?”
“Ohhhhh is that what its name means? Wow Rin you’re so smart.”
No Yugo you’re just exceptionally stupid.
Yuri has: Naganadel, Seviper, Victreebel, Toxicroak, Vileplume, and Roserade
For the most toxic of battlers, I felt it only necessary to give Yuri an all poison type team. I included an even mix of plants in there to tie into his Predaplant deck, Seviper for the snake eye vibes, and Toxicroak... just feels right, you know. I couldn’t find any other poison plant themed Pokemon that seemed like they’d fit his vibe, so he gets a poison frog instead.
Yuzu has: Meloetta, Sylveon, Meowstic (Female), Gardevoir, Florges, and Jigglypuff
I tried to stick with Pokemon that had very feminine vibes for Yuzu, since her deck is comprised of pretty singing ladies, so Meloetta and Jigglypuff in particular feel very fitting in that regard.
Serena has: Cresselia, Delcatty, Glameow, Lopunny, Persian, and Pyroar (Female)
The moon vibes with Cresselia felt perfect for Serena, and as for the rest of her team, all cats and a bunny to pay homage to her Lunalight deck ^^
Rin has: Celesteela, Mismagius, Hatterene, Glaceon, Froslass, and Chimecho
Her team vibes with the witch part of her Wind Witch deck, at least for Mismagius and Hatterene. Glaceon, Froslass, and Chimecho are there due to the etymology of her name, where possible meanings of it include “cold” and “bell”, which I thought was pretty cool, no pun intended.
Ruri has: Galarian Articuno, Pidgeot, Noctowl, Chatot, Altaria, and Unfezant (Male)
Some softer birds for the soft bird girl, for the most part. I liked the thought of her team being all birds like her Lyriluscs, and just... yeah. They’re all very friendly birds that Ruri’s bonded pretty closely with. Also I made sure she had Galarian Articuno for no reason other than it is purple like her, and I think that’s all the reason I need.
Gong has: Kartana, Machoke, Samurott, Golisopod, Hariyama, and Conkeldurr
Gong was really easy to assign a team to- just had to find as many samurai themed Pokemon as possible, and fill in the rest with really strong fighting types, like Machoke, Hariyama, and Conkeldurr.
Shingo has: Type: Null, Dusclops, Misdreavus, Spiritomb, Decidueye, and Cramorant
With Shingo, I tried to go for Pokemon that had the same vibes as some of his Abyss Actors, and I think Dusclops is the best example of this. Tbh I am very proud of giving him a Type: Null because Type: Null is an amalgamation of other Pokemon, something that was created in a lab to be a fighting machine. There’s nothing natural about Type: Null, and it’s kind of terrifying to Yuya specifically, who’s always viewed Pokemon as creatures to befriend. This experiment created purely to kill... unnerves him, and serves as a very good foil to his beliefs when it comes to Pokemon.
And they were narrative foils
Oh my god they were narrative foils
On a sillier note, I chose Cramorant purely because of this quote from its bulbapedia page: “Cramorant are also rather unintelligent as they can't remember which Pokémon they fight in mid battle, but never forget Trainers that they trust. However, they try to attack their Trainers if they steal food from them.”
I just thought the idea of Shingo having this dumb bird that occasionally pecks at him over food would be funny tbh, gotta dunk on the rival at least a little bit.
Sora has: Banette, Vanillish, Swirlix, Stufful, Litleo, and Buneary
In his box, he has a Guzzlord
I feel like Sora’s team is very straightforward, as it’s a mix of sweets themed Pokemon, and Pokemon that represent monsters in his deck- Stufful for Flufflal Bear, Litleo for Fluffal Leo, and Buneary for Fluffal Rabbit. Guzzlord... is relevant later on in the plot after shit goes down, that’s all I’ll say for now.
Masumi has: Diancie, Sableye, Corsola, Aurorus, Tyranitar, and Lycanroc (Dusk form)
Gem Knight girl deserved to have a bunch of good rock type Pokemon, and Diancie is like. The best possible legendary I could have given someone like her lol, the crystal aesthetic is just perfect for her. Not much to say here honestly, I just really vibed with these specific rock types and thought they’d make a good team for her.
Yaiba has: Zeraora, Kecleon, Pangoro, Scyther, Purugly, and Stantler
So I actually threw this list together just now because I realized Masumi was the only member of her trio to have a full team, and that just wasn’t right. I tried to base this team off the XX-Sabers as well I could, but it was a little hard with how many humanoid cards Yaiba has. With his legendary, I actually chose it based off this monster right here!
I think they’ve got similar enough vibes aesthetically for Zeraora to fit him. Scyther is based on Emmersblade, Kecleon on Ragigura, Stantler on Garsem, Purugly on Gardestrike, and Pangoro... Honestly, it just makes me think of Yaiba himself when I look at him. I think they’d get along well.
Hokuto has: Deoxys, Espeon, Grumpig, Starmie, Lunatone, and Malamar
Psychic type Pokemon just sort of felt right for him to have, considering that his deck is based on constellations and has an overall space theme to it. Not sure why that translates over to psychic in my brain, but you know what, it looks right, I love this team for him, and I’m not gonna question it.
I especially think Deoxys makes a good legendary for him considering it is literally a space alien, and Hokuto’s whole thing is space, so yeah, he gets to have the space alien.
Shun has: Galarian Moltres, Skarmory, Fearow, Dodrio, Staraptor, and Talonflame
Pretty straightforward team I feel- it’s all birds of prey for the Raid Raptor boy, and I just thought the Galarian version of Moltres was neat. Makes me think of his Blaze Falcon since they’re both black and red.
Dennis has: Hoopa, Mr. Mime, Delphox, Zoroark, Alakazam, and Hawlucha
Hoopa seemed like a very good legendary for Dennis to have, given his deck archetype and all, he just kind of looks like a little circus dude. Its unbound form makes me think about the swap Dennis has when it gets revealed that he’s actually been a double agent the whole time, and the play gloves finally come off.
The rest of his team... I feel like they speak for themselves. I tried to give him Pokemon that matched up with his deck archetype, so there’s Delphox to rep the fire themed monsters, Mr. Mime because it just fits Dennis’ general personality- and I love the thought of those two being friends and just copying each other’s theatric poses. Chaotic dynamic duo.
(Also: Zoroark's ability letting it disguise itself as another Pokemon is just another parallel to Dennis pretending to be one of the good guys at first, and I love it)
Shinji has: Buzzwole, Beedrill, Vespiquen, Ribombee, Kricketune, and Leavanny
I tried to give the bee man all the bees I could, but there are only so many bee Pokemon out there 😔 I knew the rest of his team had to be insect types to make up for it, so I picked Kricketune because he is just... a friend... a musical buddy who definitely gets along well with the kids. Leavanny is just a bug mom who also helps patch up the kids’ clothing when they get tears in them, which I just love the idea of. Sweet bug mom whose dex entry talks about how they sew for other Pokemon looks after her trainer’s kids when she’s not battling.
Buzzwole: witness the fitness
Throwback to the Smash Bros mains lmao
Crow has: Murkrow, Braviary, Starly, Swellow, Pikipek, and Corviknight
Bunch of birds for my Blackwing user... This team was partially picked out by June, and it was mostly meant for the Other Pokemon au, but I don’t really see a reason to change his team here. Crow is the one person without a legendary on his team, which makes me sad, but there really isn’t a legendary bird out there that fits his vibes, so as much as I wanna give him a legendary, he will have to make do without one. Sorry Crow.
Hoo... that’s finally all the teams down. Now I can talk about the plot! So, as I briefly mentioned in a previous post (I think), this particular au is inspired by Pokemon Diamond/Pearl/Platinum! It’s the era where contests really became a big thing, which is perfect for a lot of these characters because it’s easy to translate dueltaining over to coordinating in this world. Much like in canon, Yuya aspires to be as great a coordinator as his dad was, and strives to entertain people the way Yusho could. He’s not much for battling, and far prefers getting to show off his Pokemon’s talents in contests than anything.
Academia is going to play the role of Team Galactic in this au, which is incredibly fitting with their mission in canon: to remake the universe in their leader’s image. In this case, with Leo Akaba taking on the role of Cyrus, his intent is, presumably, to either destroy the universe that took his daughter from him, or create a new one where she can live once again, no matter the cost.
Sora being a key member in Team Galactic is a very big part of the plot in this au: his mission was to capture one of the lake legendaries, Uxie, since Leo needed all three of them for his plan to remake the universe, but things don’t exactly go well for him, and he ends up losing his battle against Uxie, resulting in all of his memories being locked away, and essentially making him a blank slate.
Side note: the Galactic grunt haircut reminds me a lot of Sora, I mean just look at it
Practically same bangs as him, just add an upturned ponytail and you’ve got my son.
This post is getting very long... but I will add one last plot related thing to it before I go: Uxie can erase memories, Mesprit can erase emotions, and Azelf can erase willpower. All three of these lake legendaries play a very important role in the plot, due to being the keys to Leo Akaba’s plans to remake the universe. Sora was touched by Uxie, effectively doing away with all memory he has of being in Team Galactic. Yuya ends up touched by Mesprit in an attempt to save them, and subsequently loses his emotions as a result. Riley?
Riley had been affected by all three of them before the plot began, which is why she is the way she’d been in Arc-V: Emotionless, unable to remember anything about her past except for those brief, fleeting flashes of memory when put into certain situations she’d experienced before, and without any will of her own. She’s so dependent on her older brother because she quite literally has no clue what to do with herself without being told to, and needs orders to function.
Hoo, if you’ve made it all the way to the end of the post, congratulations! I think this is the longest one I’ve made... ever lmao. I hope you guys found it enjoyable! If anyone wants to know more about certain aspects of this au, feel free to ask! I look forward to talking about it more c:

Mini Gift
It’s @mrnerdling‘s birthday, and I wrote up a longer story for the day. However, I also wanted to write a small thing based on another suggested pairing! So, I did, and it’s sloppy, but I tried to cram it in within like...I dunno, four hours between research and writing.
Anyway, I know extremely little about Pokémon Unite, so it’s going to be rather choppy and probably have nothing to do with the game. (I didn’t even include evolutions because that hurt my brain to consider evolving back and forth, which I think they do in Digimon, but not Pokémon.) But, hey, it was worth a shot, and I experimented.
Just a cute fic to feature some ship teasing that he should enjoy. And I hope you do too!
...
Four trainers joined together at the Aeos Island team rooms. While they carried on discussing strategies for their upcoming practice, they sent out their current selected Pokémon, allowing them to gather together while their trainers continued planning.
Lucario folded his arms and surveyed his team, noting his usual companions in Cinderace and Slowbro. He tilted his head at the appearance of Blissey, a newcomer to the team and the island overall.
“Huh, first of our team newcomers.” Lucario nodded. “Welcome aboard, Blissey! My trainer is the team captain, so I try my best to reflect her efforts.”
“Oh, thanks for the welcome!” Blissey bowed her head and smiled. “It’s going to be fun getting to join everyone.” She blinked and blankly stared at the group. “To be honest though, I have absolutely no idea what I’m doing.”
“Me neither,” mumbled Slowbro.
“But…you’re already on this team.”
“…I am?”
“Don’t worry, Slowbro’ll come to life in a little while.” Cinderace rubbed his nose and smirked to Blissey. “Name’s Cinderace, and I’m part of this team too. Our trainers tried to match the variety in roles among Pokémon for this island.” He pointed at the egg in Blissey’s hands. “You’re a healer, right?”
“Normally, yes.”
“Right, so there are a few different types of roles for each of us,” went over Lucario. “Since you have a focus on healing, that makes you our team’s new Support member. Slowbro can make strong blocks, so he’s our team Defender.” He pointed at Cinderace. “Since he’s fiery and likes to battle, Cinderace is our Attacker.” Lucario rubbed behind his head. “We’re supposed to have someone that’s quick around the field, who is the team Speedster. I suppose you’ll meet him later.” Lucario shrugged. “As someone that tries to cover multiple roles in one, I do my best to be the All-Around type on our team.”
“Wow.” Blissey brightly smiled. “This already sounds complicated. I love it!”
“It takes a bit, but you’ll get into it after a few rounds,” offered Cinderace. “Since we’re just practicing today, though, I don’t imagine it’ll be too rough on you.” He stretched and winked to her. “Basically, we just need to worry about scoring more points than the other team, and that’s the idea of the game.”
“Each role helps determine how well we perform,” brought up Lucario. “So, with that, we’ll let the rest get resolved on the field.”
“Ooh, my trainer is calling me over that way,” pointed out Blissey. “What do we do by the benches?”
“…Wait for your turn to practice, I guess,” determined Cinderace, glancing at Lucario who shrugged.
“Neat!” Blissey wandered off from the group. “I still don’t get any of this!”
“Well, waiting won’t help much,” mumbled Cinderace. “…Huh. Hey, Slowbro, they’re calling you over too.”
“…Who?”
“Your trainer, knucklehead.”
“Oh, ok.” Slowbro blinked and then slowly waddled down the same direction that Blissey had gone in.
“Guess they want to focus on offensive plays first,” suggested Cinderace. “If those two are sitting on the sidelines, that means it’s you, me, and whoever the newbie is when they get jump in.”
“That makes sense, since we’ll need to learn covering the field.” Lucario tapped on his chin and nodded. “Ok, so, practices today are mostly relying on us getting Aeos Energy to score points. If we’re doing some offense training to start, that’s the main goal to focus on.”
“Are we just going on the field as is?”
“Yep, going right into it.”
“Huh, should be fun.” Cinderace grinned and lifted a thumb up to Lucario. “Want to see who can score the most points between us two? New guy will probably figure it out and join in.”
“We do need to work on strategies too.”
“Where’s the fun if we’re only working and not bringing out the best of each other?” Cinderace slid closer to Lucario, patting his head and nudging him. “Come on, huh? Let’s have some fun with this!”
“Well…it is technically part of our exercises, tallying high scores—”
“Aha, knew you’d see it my way!”
“Just don’t get too carried away,” requested Lucario. He frowned and looked over as Blissey tried talking with Slowbro, who vacantly stared off around the meeting room. “Last time, you knocked Slowbro too hard on the head, and now he seems like he’s back to basics.” Lucario lowered his eyes as he watched Slowbro drool, while Blissey chattered on. “…Or worse, actually.”
“Coach, you’re thinking way too hard.”
“Don’t call me that.”
“Why not? You basically are!” Cinderace jogged in place, getting his feet warmed up. “Going to roll some heads on the field and get the highest scores like you wouldn’t believe!”
“Do you ever turn over the competitor in you?”
“Nope!”
“Well, that does help us.” Lucario shrugged and smiled. “Come on, let’s get ourselves ready.”
“You’re so cute when you’ve got a big work ethic going,” teased Cinderace, leaning over Lucario’s head.
“Get off.”
“Make me.”
After chasing his teammate to the practice field, Lucario lined up with Cinderace at the starting gate. Their trainers readied their supply of Aeos Island balls, ready to capture the wild Pokémon that their partners battled against. The two trainers were joined by a third, who hurriedly sent their choice to the field as they set the practice timer.
However, the purple gates opened, and Lucario raced off alongside Cinderace.
“Try to keep up, Luca!”
“Don’t call me that either!”
Laughing, Cinderace hurried up the northern route, while Lucario traveled down the southern side. Kicking streams of fire and sliding past his opponents, Cinderace swept at the wild Aipom and Audino. His trainer from the sidelines collected Aeos Energy from the capture.
“Nice and easy,” cheered Cinderace. “They better get that Speedster straight to work to catch up with me!”
“Might as well, you’re right!”
Blinking and halting from the new voice, Cinderace turned around as a yellow blur rushed past him. A loud clap rang out, as lightning bolts danced through the air and zapped at the wild Pokémon nearby.
The striker rabbit watched as the blur raced around, snatching more Aeos Energy before running for a hoop. Jumping up, the thunderclap cat slammed in a ball of energy, scoring points for the corresponding trainer.
Setting down, Cinderace gawked as the cat beamed to him.
“Hey there, sorry for the interruption introduction,” called the newcomer. “I’m Zeraora, and I’m your team’s latest Speedster!” He swiped below his nose. “Heard that we’re having a little contest of our own, so I hope you don’t mind me joining in.”
Slowly nodding, Cinderace looked the yellow cat up and down, impressed at just the sight alone. Watching him run around once again, Cinderace flailed around, trying to attack the wild Pokémon to score more energy.
However, Zeraora’s speed helped him collect bits of energy from the ground and take down emerging Pokémon faster than Cinderace could keep up with.
Knocking enough energy into the goal, Zeraora grinned as it faded, and spun around to Cinderace, winking to him.
“Check it out! We scored a load of points on this one.” He waved. “Come on, cutie, let’s see if you can keep up!”
“Wow, I think this is how I sound to Lucario,” mumbled the flushed face Cinderace. “…Why doesn’t he like me even more?”
Both rushed to the next goal, knocking more energy into it. Lucario had chased an evasive Audino over, and was able to help his trainer capture them for Aeos Energy. Once that was done, however, Lucario gawked as Zeraora raced past him, jumping up and slamming more energy into the nearby goal.
“Wait, what?” Lucario fumbled back and stared up at the cat hanging from the hoop. “Are you the new speedster?”
“Nice, you’re the team captain!” Zeraora grinned. “They told me you’d be handsome, and they weren’t kidding!” He dropped down and ran for the next wild Pokémon. “Come on, little guy! Let’s see if you can keep up with me!”
“…He’s like Cinderace, but worse,” muttered Lucario as he blushed.
As they continued scoring points, practice time ticked away and ran out. Checking over the final scores, Lucario gawked at how high Zeraora’s score was, in spite his late start. Cinderace had scored the lowest, which was quite unusual for him. Turning for the rabbit, Lucario raised an eyebrow, as Cinderace shrugged and gazed back to Zeraora, beaming from his results.
“Ha, check it out!” Zeraora placed a hand on his hip. “Didn’t think I’d score so high, but you guys made competing pretty fun. I think we’ll make a strong combination!” He winked to his teammates and wandered toward the exit. “I wonder who else is on this team? I think they were both pink…”
“Well…at least he’s fast,” decided Lucario.
“He’s amazing, and I have to know more,” rambled off Cinderace.
“Look in the mirror.”
“He’s even better than me!”
“That’s not what I—”
“Best newbie ever!” Cinderace hurried after him. “Hey, Zera! Tell me more about yourself! Like, everything!”
Rolling his eyes, Lucario slapped a paw over his head and dragged it down. Sighing, he followed his teammates out from the first practice field, looking to join them for the next session.
Though Zeraora enjoyed chatting with Cinderace, he would steal glances to Lucario and grin to him, making the captain blush.
This was certainly going to be a new dynamic for them.
...
Whoosh, there it is!
Yeah, I did my best while hurrying it along. This wasn’t the original gift idea, but I wanted to include both ideas sent to me.
Since I normally write like medieval Pokémon, or otherwise normal stuff where they battle and such, I decided to try following another game, and went with one that all three leads appear in, which was the latest game.
Even though I’ve never touched it, so maybe that wasn’t the best idea, but oh well! That’s what research is for. (Also, there’s other stuff that I didn’t get to touch on about Unite, but alas.)
If I had more time, I’d probably write more, but this is it for this one. Hope you enjoyed the quick bit!

Teen Titans Pokemon Rescue Team AU
So instead of going through what kind of Pokemon trainers all of the Titans would be and the Pokemon they have, what if our favorite heroes were Pokemon living in the Pokemon world and were a Pokemon Rescue Team.
Robin is a Hawlucha. Out of all the fighting types to pick from, Hawlucha is one of the only fighting types, other than maybe Riolu and Lucario that is designed to look like they are wearing a mask. And while it is tempting to make Robin a Riolu because everyone loves Riolu, how can Robin also not be the only flying fighting type? Hawlucha’s wings give it the illusion of a cape, and according to the Pokedex entry, “its proficient fighting skills enable it to keep up with big bruisers like Machamp and Hariyama” despite it’s small size. Despite Robin having no powers, he manages to keep up with all his super powered friends and kick some serious butt against villains loads more powerful than him.
Starfire is a Clefairy (though I do think she would be a powerful Deoxys). Because of her extraterrestial origins, Starfire definitely had to be one of the Pokemon that is believed to come from space, but she couldn’t be a legendary Pokemon otherwise she’d be like... super over powered. Clefairy made the most sense because of its cute appearance. Starfire always had a soft spot for cute things and did not look at all as powerful as she actually is. Clefairy is cute and, honestly, could be mistaken as a weak Pokemon. But it can be pretty tough and bulky.
Cyborg is a Metagross, because it’s so bulky and mechanical looking but also state of the art. Cyborg has always been a tough character who seemed capable of being able to take what he could put out. It was a difficult choice, because Metagross is steel and psychic, but he’s such a sleek and technological styled Pokemon. This is the type of Pokemon you expect to stop a bus, something Cyborg has actually done. And I think Cyborg, when he’s angry, cam be pretty intimidating just like a Metagross. And who says a Metagross can’t have a sense of humor either?
Beast Boy, is a shiny Ditto. Duh. It seems only right for a shapeshifter to become a Pokemon that is also a shapeshifter. The reason he is shiny though is because, well, Beast Boy is green. When he shapeshifts, most of the things he turns into stay green. They aren’t their normal coloring. And yeah... a shiny Ditto is more of a light blue than green, but Beast Boy the Ditto would be transforming into the shiny version of Pokemon. And some shiny Pokemon are super obviously shiny, and other’s aren’t that much. It fits with how his powers work and how sometimes, when he shapeshifts, he’s going to be the natural color of the animals he turns into like lizards and how most of the time he isn’t.
Raven is a Misdreavus. Although her name is Raven, and the obvious choice did genuinely feel like a Murkrow, ghost Pokemon are often shunned and avoided because of their creepy nature and origins. Most of them are supposedly the souls of actual people, specifically children. Raven has always felt like she didn’t belong among the Titans, that she was creepy. Those feelings feel like they would most emulate and match something that a ghost Pokemon might feel. Furthermore, Misdreavus’s red necklace drew my attention because it reminded me of her chakra stone.
Instead of being a group of super heroes, the five friends became a huge Pokemon Rescue Team known as Team Titan. They have a very strange base, it resides in this weird crevice cave that looks out over a cliff side and has a couple of tunnels leading deeper inside. Cyborg is convinced that the tunnels used to belong to an old colony of Digletts and Dugtrios. Theres a rock, cliffside path that they can take and a secret underground tunnel that is, unfortunately, not big enough for Cyborg. It’s a cozy little home, and the five of them make by. They aren’t particularly picky about the type of rescue adventures they go on, but if they have a chance to capture some crook that is causing trouble in the forest or in some other Pokemon community, they’ll prioritize that over anything. Especially Robin.
The Honorary Titans, their friends in the show who make up Titans East and such, they are Pokemon that they’ve come across on their adventures who have helped them or, having heard of them, wanted to become members of the exploration team. These Honorary Titans have their own branch of the Rescue Team organization so they can help other Pokemon in places the original Titans can’t get to.
Bumblebee is, obviously, a Beedrill. Mas y Menos are Plusle and Minun respectively. Aqualad is a Buizel. Speedy is an Aipom (there are no archer Pokemon. I figured, because Aipom’s tail is a hand and a really handy extra appendage, that might substitute the bow and arrows).
Terra is a Cubone, and there was a time where she was part of Team Titans, but she was manipulated by their arch nemesis into betraying them. Slade promised her revenge against whoever it was that killed her mother (Cubone wear the skull of their deceased mother, who was unjustly murdered [in the anime I think it’s Team Rocket but it’s been a minute]).
Slade, in this universe, is a Toxicroak. Toxicroak is a Poison Fighting type, which I think suits the villain very well because of how deadly he is. He’s a dangerous opponent in fighting, and he basically poisoned the other Titans to get Robin to be his apprentince. Technically it was nanobots, but they essentially had robots poisoning their bloodstream ready to kill them at the press of a button. It also makes him effective against all of the main Titans. Fighting types, Normal Types, and Steel types are weak against Fighting. Fairy is weak against Poison. And although Raven would be neutral or potentially have the advantage on him, any dark type moves she would have wouldn’t be effective against Slade.

soooo....guess who saw Detective Pikachu?
me and my sister saw detective pikachu yesterday. I LOVED IT SOOOOO MUCH!! It was cute, beautiful, and full of heart. it brought me SO MUCH JOY and I personally think it was better than endgame (I have...strong feelings on it). Once again, Ryan Reynolds comes through to help me through MCU emotions. HE WOULD NEVER HURT ME!
I went to build a bear afterwards and got me a pikachu.
spoilers ahead:
That car crash man. like DAAAMN that’s an attention grabbing opening!
The establishing shots of Tim’s hope town were gorgeous and so calming, especially after that opening. I wanted to live there and I hate small towns.
I know his heart was in the right place, but Tim’s friend choosing Cubone as the Pokemon Tim should try and catch was sort of messed up.
lol, Tim is just awkward around everyone and everything. I love how the Cubone just laughed at him
Tim’s train ride was...special. That Lickitung scene was unsettling. Who did that dude belong to?
I was getting bad vibes from Bill Nighy (let’s face it, most of us weren’t calling him by the character’s name) from the tourism ad Tim watched on the train. His obsession w/ evolution was a bit creepy.
Got major Zootopia vibes when Tim arrived in Ryme City. I was singing Try Everything in my head.
Ken Watanabe (I forget the character’s name so I just called him Ken Watanabe) was great. He clearly cared about Harry and was warm w/ Tim. And his Snubbull was so cute. His hostility towards Tim was funny enough, but when he happily accepts some head scratches as soon as he leaves was amazing.
Lucy’s intro was fun. She was trying so hard to be mysterious. I do wonder how long she had been waiting there.
I was soooo not expecting the Home Alone reference. Maybe someday we’ll get an actual Angels with Filthy Souls movie.
Tim going into the room his dad set up for him got me tearing up. Tim’s backstory broke my heart, which we could somewhat gather from his intro scene when his friend insisted that Cubone was perfect for him.
Even though we had already seen Detective Pikachu’s intro, it was still great and ADORABLE!!
I love how Pikachu was already ready to throw down w/ the Aipoms hopped up on R.
“I’ll throw the knife”
Poor Tim just can’t catch a break can he?
“I’m not modest.” I can totally see Deadpool saying that. (does that mean Harry goes commando?)
Tim just CANNOT speak to people.
The dive bar scene was fun. Tim trying to not look crazy, Jigglypuff singing a man to sleep, Pikachu’s increasingly out there theories, all great.
The address in his hat making him think Harry’s apartment was his (which it technically was. I like to think Harry put his address in his Pikachu’s hat in case they got seperated.)
“I’m not that kind of Pokemon.”
You like Pokemon don’t you, Tim?
Tim comparing Pikachu’s “clues” being like a serial killer. (Was that how Harry normally worked?)
Pikachu explaining the R.
All the coffee cups that Pikachu was “still drinking”
The tension in the news studio...yikes. I knew that the Ditto would be important somehow. And while Roger might have been too harsh when chewing out Lucy, he did have a point.
Pikachu is the captain of the Tim/Lucy ship.
Lucy’s “office” reminded me of Bellwether’s.
Pikachu freaking out over Psyduck while STILL being able to “critic” Tim’s flirting.
The fact that Psyducks need to avoid stress while Lucy seems to thrive on it is great.
The whole Mr. MIme scene was beautiful. I’m soooo glad they decided to keep it in the movie. I’m pretty sure Mr. Mime was being a troll and planed to cooperate the whole time. It was most likely how he and Harry normally interacted. When Tim started playing along and that ending. Like, HOLY SHIT that got dark.
Pikachu not being able to focus because the dude had no shirt on. (again, was that how Harry felt when he previously interacted w/ him).
The staring contest between Pikachu and Charizard was great.
Pikachu’s overconfidence before the fight before it all went to shit. And hearing Ryan Reynolds say “Pika Pika” just...beautiful.
Tim going in to help his little buddy while Pikachu telling him to get out of there (Harry is a protective papa.)
The OH SHIT face Sebastian has when he realizes that he broke a shitton of R. And the chaos that follows. The fact that Pikachu remained unaffected was a clue that he wasn’t a normal Pokemon.
Pikachu trying to kick start Magikarp’s evolution w/ delayed success. And the OH SHIT face Charizard’s face was hilarious.
The second police station scene was heartbreaking. You can tell Ken Watanabe is torn up by the death and telling Tim that his dad is w/o a doubt dead.
Tim breaking down about not rekindling w/ his dad when he had the chance is what finally broke me and I cried. Justice was SO great in that scene. And Pikachu telling him how much his dad love him and was proud of him and would give him a great big hug. That was when I knew who Pikachu was.
The whole scene reminded me of when Eddie let his guard down and told Roger his back story.
When they meet Bill Nighy in his office and he starts to admire the Eevee evolving made me 100% confident that this man was up to no good. I did wonder if his son or Ken Watanabe were in on the plan or not.
Lucy in the dive bar trying to be all classic spy movie...beautiful. And it showed that she is equally as awkward as Tim.
The drive to the lab was great. Pikachu being stressed that he was next to Psyduck and Psyduck manipulation him into giving it a foot massage. Did they say what gender Psyduck was? Lucy commenting on the fact that Pikachu wearing a hat was odd. (I love that Harry is so extra that he got his Pikachu a detective hat).
Pikachu giving Tim love advice.
Tim slightly freaking out when Lucy breaks into the lab. “Don’t ask where I got these”
The whole lab scene was so atmospheric. All the setup for what was about to happen. And Mewtwo being the one from the first movie was a nice touch.
Did “Roger” set the computer up to have the exact footage that Tim and Pikachu saw/needed? (I wanna see how Harry caught that Mewtwo)
The giant Torterra scene was awesome. “At this point, how can you deny climate change?!”
Pikachu goading Psyduck into having a headache. “I’ll NEVER forgive my hands for what they have done.”
Pretty sure I cried again when Pikachu was dying and Tim desperate to save him. Justice is SO good at the emotional stuff as well as the comedy.
OMG THE BULBASAURS!! SO CUTE!!
Mewtwo revealing that they weren’t the bad guy (which I had guessed from the first trailer they showed up in). When they got captured I was so distraught. Poor dude had been through enough.
I was pleasantly surprised when it was Pikachu that pushed Tim away rather than vise versa. Tim believed in Pikachu the whole time. Didn’t make it any less sad when he left though (but that seems to be how Harry deals w/ things).
Did not care for that bitchy reporter.
I figured that Bill Nighy wanted to give people Pokemon abilities, I did NOT think he was gonna go as far as hijacking Mewtwo’s body and FORCING people to fuse w/ their Pokemon.
The fact that Mewtwo tells Tim to run before they are fully taken over was nice. They care about Tim (and Harry).
I KNEW that Ditto was gonna be important. When it became Lucy, or a human in general, it was SOOO upsetting.
I feel bad for poor Roger. In the end he was a bit abrasive but not evil. Roger ended up reminding me a lot of Krai from Big Hero 6.
I have a question about the fusing. When Bill Nighy does it his body is still there (though that could be because it was a mind link and not a fusion). When Harry and Pikachu fused Harry’s body was still there, Mewtwo took it. When all hell breaks loose at the parade everyone’s bodies disappear.
HOW DARE YOU MAKE PIKACHU SING THE THEME SONG ALL SAD?!
Him slowly putting the pieces together and his first thought is saving Tim. (Harry’s a good dad.)
Poor Tim yet again getting his ass kick by a Pokemon. At least Roger was able to save him. The Ditto as Cubone reminded me of the Tweety scene in Roger Rabbit, exect much more serious.
Pikachu vs Bill Nighy!Mewtwo was SO AWESOME! Seeing Pikachu using his powers, balloons catching on fire, his smug little face when he said he was merely a distraction so Tim could cause the Ditto to freak out (which was kind of disturbing) and freeing Mewtwo from the mind link.
Mewtwo saving Pikachu in the nick of time.
Lucy getting her big break and asking Tim on a date because lord knows Tim most likely wouldn’t have done it on his own.
When we finally get the whole story of what went down the night of the crash. We all pretty much knew at that point that Pikachu was Harry in a sense, but it was still nice/satisfying to have it confirmation.
Harry’s Pikachu love him SO MUCH that he was willing to give up control of his body to help his partner.
I guess Harry’s body was too damaged to heal on it’s own which is why Tim was needed.
I’m not sure if Harry in Pikachu’s body fully understood what was happening.
Not gonna lie, kinda wanted to see Harry regain his body.
The train station scene was so sweet. It must be a bit weird for Tim to hear Pikachu’s normal voice instead of his dad’s. I felt all warm and fuzzy when we finally see Harry as himself. Ryan Reynolds just oozes warm and charm. When Tim decided to stay and said he wanted to be a detective...happy tears. I hope he takes in a Cubone as his partner. Or Mr. Mime.
I don’t think Harry fully lost his memory of what happened. Like when he went back to the scene of the crash jogged his memories when he was inside Pikachu, I could see something similar happening now that he’s back to normal. Maybe everything won’t come back, but enough to know the basics of what went on.

Lending A Hand
Summary: Black was tasked to help Gold babysit two baby Pokemon.
Thank you so much @dagger-writes for helping me with this fic! If it weren’t for you I wouldn’t have defeated writer’s block, haha. ^^’
And to the person who requested this, I’m sorry if it took a while but I hope you’ll like it!
“A new movie? What’s it gonna be about, Boss?” A nosy boy looked over the shoulder of his boss to try and get a peek at the script for their company’s upcoming movie. Though every time he thought he could read a line she moved so that he couldn’t.
“You’re going to wait and see it in theaters like everyone else, now sit here and wait for the guest stars like I told you, okay, Black?” White sighed and checked off actors as she saw them coming in, “I know you’re bored but please wait.”
“Guest stars? You mean the baby Pokemon?” Black thought it was funny to call them ‘guest stars’, but he supposed that they’d be trying just as hard as everyone else. They were supposed to be traveling all the way to Unova from Johto, which was a long way. At least in his head, it was. All this for baby Pokemon, he didn’t understand why they didn’t just visit their daycare.
“Yes, and like I’ve told you ten times before, please don’t bother their caretaker,” She grabbed a few dresses for herself to wear since she would be starring in a musical number in the movie.
“Why would I bother a daycare man?” he asked with a tone of confusion.
“Because, haven’t you heard? He’s a Dexholder from Johto—“ Everything she said from then on was cut off in his mind. Now he was focused on one thing: battling an older Pokedex Holder sounded way cooler than waiting for a movie to finish in production.
“And don’t battle him! You’re going to be helping him take care of the baby Pokemon so play nice!” She shot him a look and went to get dressed.
From the moment she left though he became even more restless. He couldn’t think about anything else. That one thought was hogging his mind now, he really needed Musha’s help. The office became awkwardly quiet when the workers turned to see a boy with a Musharna on top of his head, but he wasn’t even paying attention.
“Whoa, now that’s something I’ve never seen before,” a voice rang out after the front door to the studio opened with the chime of a bell. The sounds of skittering baby Pokemon followed after and Black looked up to lock eyes with a man who was trying his best to hold in chuckles.
He took Musharna off of his head and ran over, practically tripping over himself on the way, “Senior Gold?! From Johto?” Naturally, Black had learned upon every great trainer there ever had been. Gold was one of his role models.
“My reputation precedes me I see,” he said proudly with a smug grin. “You’re the one that’s supposed to help me keep these rascals in line until it’s their turn for the movie right?”
Black bobbed his head. Excitement lit up in his eyes. As he was about to scream, however, Musha continued eating his dreams, making Gold flinch from his spot. The Hatcher’s eyes widened.
“Whoa, you really sure you’re okay there?” Gold asked and Black just smiled.
“Y-Yeah,” he stuttered, and once Musha finished eating all of his dreams, it removed its mouth from its trainer’s head. It smiled while the Dreamer grinned. “Thanks, Musha! I feel a lot better now.”
“That’s one weird way of feeling better, bro,” Gold commented.
Black giggled nervously, scratching his head. “Sorry you have to see that, senior. Anyway, hi!” he exclaimed, reaching his hand for the gold-eyed man. “I’m Black! Nice to meet you!”
“Black,” Gold smirked, shaking his junior’s hand. “Weird name for a brown-haired guy.”
Black tilted his head, furrowing his eyebrows. Did he really just say that?
Gold laughed, as he stomped the bottom of his billiard cue on the ground. “I’m kidding. Nice to meetcha, Black!”
Black took a deep breath. His smile returned. “Thanks, senior!”
Gold rubbed his index finger on his nose. “No prob,” he replied in a cocky tone. “All in a day’s work.”
Black’s shoulders drooped. A comically large sweat dripped from his left temple. “But you haven’t done anything yet…”
“Of course I did!” Gold tried to argue, but Black shook his head. “Come on! You’re my junior! You have to like admire me or somethin’!”
Black thought how different his senior was from the others, most notably from his senior Red. He ran a hand through his hair. “Uhh...well…” He felt a nudge on his shoulder. Curious, he turned around to see Musha with a distressed face. His eyebrows creased. “What is it, Musha?”
Musha pointed at the baby Aipom and Delibird in front of it. Black followed and his eyes widened in shock.
“Uhh, s-senior,” he called. Gold sighed but looked at his junior, nonetheless.
“What is—holy shit!” The older boy’s jaw dropped.
What lies in front of them was a pissed Aipom and an angry Delibird. Gold gulped. He completely forgot that those two hardly get along. The only reason why they were together was all because of the BW Agency specifically needing a baby Aipom and a baby Delibird.
Black gave Gold a look. Did he know about this? And...did he just curse? “S-Senior,” he stammered, gulping. “We have to stop them. My Boss wouldn’t like it if the place is a mess. Senior? Gold?”
Gold snapped out of his trance. He blinked. “Yeah, yeah,” He set his billiard cue aside. “Come on. You grab Delibird. I grab Aipom.”
Black nodded. It sounded like a plan.
The two men slowly tiptoed behind the Pokemon. As they were about to get closer, the Aipom used its fist-like tail to punch Gold in the crotch while the Delibird just flew above Black before the Dreamer could catch it. Gold held his goodies, as he screeched in pain.
“Dammit!” he cursed, glaring at the Aipom.
For the record, he only agreed to do this because he would get paid.
And he desperately needed that money.
“You’re gonna behave whether you like it or not!” The Hatcher struggled to stand up and used his left arm to support himself from standing. He shot a glare at the Aipom while the Aipom did the same.
He slowly took a step closer, but the Aipom ran away. Black slid in front of him with Gold’s jaw falling on the floor once again.
“The Delibird flew, didn’t it?”
“Yep,” Black replied painfully.
Gold groaned, running his palm through his face. “That’s it. I’m getting pissed now.”
“I have an idea!” Black suddenly shouted, standing up. Gold gave him a curious look. “MUSHA!”
“What the hell?!” Gold backed off once he saw Musharna went back to its trainer’s head.
“Blank…” Black mumbled. He had to think clearly and the only way to do that was to let Musha eat his dreams and calm him down. His mind had to be completely blank.
After a few moments, he opened his eyes. The Aipom and the Delibird let out a cry, loud enough for Gold to close his ears, but it didn’t affect Black or Musha.
“SENIOR!” Black screamed, making Gold back off once again. For the love of Arceus, he was literally right beside him! Why did Black need to yell?! “Do you have their Poke Balls?! Let’s return them so they can cause less chaos!”
A sudden light bulb flicked on Gold’s head. Of course! Why didn’t he think of it?! “I have,” He gave Black a Poke Ball while Black just accepted it. Determination both lingered in the Pokedex Holders’ eyes.
“On a count of three,” Black said, signaling Gold.
Gold smirked. “One.”
“Two.”
“THREE!”
Both trainers raised their hands and in an instant, the Aipom and the Delibird returned from it. Both Pokemon have irked expressions, but Black and Gold ignored it.
“Alright! We did it!” Black yelled. He pumped his fist in the air.
Gold leaned on the wall. The smirk on his face didn’t fade. “Good job, kiddo.”
Those were music to Black’s ears. Did...Did his senior just compliment him? “T-Thanks, senior!”
Gold rubbed his nose. He winked at his junior with his smirk never leaving his face. “All in a day’s work.”
Gold may not be like his senior Red, but Black had to admit that he had a lot of fun spending time with him despite how chaotic and short it was. He was a different Dexholder, but a good one.
Bonus:
“Black,” White came out of the dressing room. Gold looked at her from head to toe, but Black didn’t seem to have noticed. White looked around the room and saw some footprints. “What happened here? Where’s the baby Pokemon?”
Black chuckled nervously. “Uhh, you see, Boss, I...uhh…”
