Tumblr media
In truth, It was precisely because the two were outsiders that Koun had ended the discussion on the previous history of his village. At least...that was the main reason. The other reason was shame....and unbeknownst to him, that shame would rear it's ugly head soon.
It always did.....so that was his way of staving it off just for a few more minutes.
Tumblr media
"I'm glad you think so. Maybe I'm finally doing something right, then." He gave a cheerful chuckle at Ludger's response, despite how self-deprecating his words really were. He moved with purpose, kept his eyes forward and not on the villagers that surrounded them. He didn't seem to be able to focus on them for too long.....either by choice or by his Maiden's insistence. The young priestess was bouncing between the two newcomers and her God, happily grinning.
Tumblr media
"If Koun-sama says so~" Her tone was cheerful, despite the obvious flinch that ran through her Koun. He paused in his step though, turning his attention over his shoulder again.
Tumblr media
"That's.....well....." he gave a hum, before giving what seemed to be a signature grin of his, though it did seem strained. "Yukina doesn't dislike nor like anyone."
Tumblr media
"Yukina-sama is very peculiar about what she does. She doesn't like things that change." Kaena responded, hoping that she was being helpful. Koun nodded to what she said. The inflection of the name she gave was the exact same as when she spoke of Koun.
"Always has been a stickler." He replied, starting up his pace again. It wasn't more than a few more moments before they were at the base of a small shrine. It was the same shrine that Ludger had visited, though this time it looked in relative okay condition. There was.....damage though. What looked to be mold growing on some of the panes of wood. "Still, You'll likely meet her anyways. She's due back soon. It's about time for her rounds."
He motioned for them to follow him as he ascended the steps, moving to a building to the side of the main building, what looked to be guest rooms that were empty. He stopped in front of one of the rooms, his hand hovering over the handle of the door briefly, a muttered spell under his hand and the lock came undone. It slid open and Koun stood to the side.....
Tumblr media
There was a grin on his face.....but it did not seem to reach his eyes. Though grey stained with golden flecks, they seemed....hollow for a moment. As if he was forcing himself through the day, barely contained depression and unease bubbling under the surface...only visible to a perceptive gaze as he went through the motions.
"After all, she's the only reason this village still exists."
The words were cold, hollow just like the look in his eyes. Going through the motions was an understatement. Something was wrong here, not necessarily with Koun, nor Kaena....but something was definitely wrong. The Koun they knew, the one Ludger so longed to befriend.....was far more than this subdued being in front of them. Their Koun would never have said something as absurd as that, even if it were true. Theirs was a spitfire, and even though jaded, he still held a fire in his gaze that had never once gone out.
This Koun, however.....for the briefest of moments, looked as if someone had doused his flame in water and all that was left were the smoldering embers. It was gone in a flash, a well-meaning chuckle leaving him.
"Would you like some tea? I'd like to be a good host if possible, so do make yourselves at home. There must be some interesting tales from over the sea, yes? I'd love to hear some. Not allowed to leave, you see......so all I know of the world around this village is what I hear from travelers like yourself...."
So very talkative. Despite the hollow moment a second earlier, he seemed so full of life. So inquisitive, curious....ready to help.
Then his ears perked forward, looking at something behind them. With a mutter of an 'excuse me' he moved around them. Kaena followed his gaze and--
Tumblr media
"Ah...Koun-sama? That--Don't--!" Her words became jumbled, as she moved to stop him, but he was already too far away, bee-lining for an elderly lady that was making her way down the stairs.
The conversation is too far away to hear, but it's clear that Koun is offering her help, reaching down to take the bag from her hand so that she can better balance on her cane. Kaena grabbed the edge of her kimono with her one hand, shuffling forward, a frown on her face.
There was a twack sound.
And then an angry yell.
"Begone you filthy fox!"
The cane had landed square in Koun's temple, sending him to the ground in a slight daze. What had seemed like a strange illusion throughout the village.....became very real. Koun had not been creating illusions....or hiding them under illusions. The villagers around them were actually avoiding the God. The woman scowled, pointing down at the fallen Spirit, spitting venomous words that melded together but made their point made as Kaena finally made it to her God's side. With a resigned expression on her face, a little tighter than it probably should be, she helped Koun to his feet as the woman stalked off as fast as she could move with such an old body.
Koun's ears were plastered to his head, three tails completely and eerily still. The same resigned expression was on his own face....though deeper, and tinged with pain that ran far further under the surface than just a bonk to the head.
Tumblr media
Though Koun tried to cut Kaena off in time, the half-finished 'flood' explained the weird inconsistency between the buildings and Kaena's time frame. Now why Koun didn't want Kaena to admit their town faced hardships, Julius couldn't see a clear reason. Two outsider hailing from distant waters wouldn't have any context for anything being 'off', so... what?
Of course, when Julius wanders off into his mind, he doesn't say a word till he returns. Meaning Ludger had to carry the conversation by himself for the time being. Good thing Ludger's two jobs re-trained him in small talk; if this was right after Marksburg... the silence would be agonizing.
Tumblr media
"Um, yes! Thank you very much for taking us in, Lord Koun!" Ludger bowed in appreciation, his arm smacking Julius dead in the back to make him follow suit. With naught a sound out of his older brother, Ludger counted himself lucky Julius knew where to walk forward without him dragging the man along by the hand.
As they followed along, Julius' focus kept switching from person to person as they parted around them. Villagers of Nia Khera used to bow whenever Milla Maxwell walked by; these people didn't acknowledge their god's presence outside the courtesy of letting him pass. Ignoring the fakeness of their situation was becoming too tall an order for Julius' liking.
Unable to bear it, Julius nudged Ludger's shoulder. 'Ludger, does Koun have the ability to create illusions?' He mouthed.
'I don't--' Both brothers jittered to attention when they heard Koun's voice.
"I-I mean, I totally get that-- one Spirit can't be a thousand places at once!" Ludger forced himself to laugh, scraping together what pieces he could salvage from the now-awkward situation Julius put them in. "But still, Ms. Kaena's got a point-- I'd be more than happy to have a lesser Water Spirit protect us if it meant we could get to know him or her!"
Tumblr media
As Ludger floundered in keeping appearances, Julius left his mind scape at the right time: Ms. Kaena mentioning 'Yuki' shattered Koun's good cheer, forcing him to feign calm.
"If I may pry, does Ms. Yuki dislike outsiders?" Julius broke his silence to dig out the important details. "We can limit contact with her if our presence could cause you trouble. You're already doing us favor enough not forcing us to try and barter an inn room that might not exist."

Another Patreon suggestion from J.N. Squire: Balta's lady, Kaena (fun fact: she stole her name from a character I deleted out of another unrelated book long, long ago, actually).

Diamond in the Korian Court ft Jokam PoV please!
this was just me noodling around on backstory and Diamond is kinda ooc for who he is now, but I still like the way I wrote Jokam in this so I’ve kept it around with the intention of fixing the way Diamond acts.
cw: implied death
Jokam is starting to wonder when the Otethian prince will arrive when the servants announce Araquiel’s entrance with a guest.
Araquiel’s guest is in chains, skin silvery blue and obviously not human. Otethian, and likely the prince. He walks with a regal air despite what is likely the blood of his entourage splattered on his robes.
The boy stumbles when Araquiel jerks the chains at his wrists, pulling him towards Mother. His pale silver-blue-white hair falls over his face, obscuring the even paler silver-blue-white complexion of his face.
“State your name, boy,” Mother says curtly.
The boy cocks his head and says something in Otethian, too quickly for Jokam to understand.
“In Korian,” Araquiel orders.
The boy scowls. “Your language is clunky,” he says petulantly, and then, “My courtesy name roughly translates to Diamond.”
“Don’t be impertinent, boy. You are not a prince here.” Araquiel cuffs on him the ear.
“I am not,” he agrees amiably.
Jokam begins to wish that he would be quiet. Araquiel does not look like he will stop any time soon, and Mother does not seem to be inclined to stop him.
However, before anything worse can happen, a woman steps into the throne room. “Excuse me, milord, my queen,” she curtsies, “but I have a message from the caravan to Otethia. The boy we sent in place of the prince has disappeared en route to Kaena Dorei, and the other Otethian prince has run away from Kaena Dorei.” The woman, who I recognize as Sarathae Adaraya, one of Araquiel’s personal guards and assassins, moves towards Diamond as she speaks.
“Thank you for your message,” Araquiel says.
“You may leave no--” Mother is cut off by a crossbow bolt burying itself into her chest.
so yeah, that’s a fun way to introduce a political hostage to your country: a coup!

buddy and kai!!!
send me a pair name and I’ll tell you what I think it would be like if they had a child.
Name: Kaena ‘Kay’ Rose Carson
Gender: Female
General Appearance: She honestly could not care less about what she looks like 9 times out of 10 and usually wears whatever’s clean at the top of her laundry basket. Usually has her hair up.
Personality: She can be a little intense sometimes. She’s got a laser focus and has a hard time letting it drop and will be rude if you interrupt her. She’s a bit of a smart ass, but means well. She’s great once you get her to just relax.
Special Talents: She’s crazy good with computers, mostly from watching Kai growing up. Not that he ever did it in front of her, but she got his hacking skills too, which does not exactly thrill either dad.
Who they like better: It’s pretty even, but Kai wins out by just a bit because he isn’t as…overbearing as Buddy can be sometimes.
Who they take after more: Kai.
Personal Head canon: After they saw her affinity for computers, Buddy put her in a STEM camp for girls one summer where they had them do a ton of different things and she discovered her new passion: aerospace engineering, which is what she’s going to college for currently.
Bonus: She’s adopted! Her birth mom was a teenager who was not at all ready to be a parent. They had an open adoption and Kay’s birth mom comes to visit once a year!
Face Claim: Al*sha B*e

I loved Felidae. Unfortunately, when I was little they showed the uncut version on TV, and now they don't...
And again, I have some to add:
Kaena: The Prophecy (2003)
A people inhabiting a tree is in grave danger because they can't produce enough sap to pacify their gods. Young Kaena doesn't believe in gods, and therefore keeps getting into fights with their priest. One day she accidentally finds out what to do...
Fantastic Planet (1973)
Tumblr media
The Traag have very high developed technology and rule planet Ygam. They gain their strength meditating, and keep the, much smaller, human population, the Oms, as pets (while regularly exterminating the wild ones in the parks). One of the Traag girls accidentally starts teaching her pet Om. He escapes and starts teaching the wild humans... (This one's really slow paced, but very intense if you get involved)
The Pinchcliffe Grand Prix (1975)
Tumblr media
This is an interesting one. Depending on the language, the place and most people have different names. It has actually been Norway's most successful animation movies of all times. And write the opposite of the previous one.
Engineer Theodore Rimspoke and his roomies find out that the former trainee, Rudolph Gore-Slimey, has stolen an invention from the workshop. He builds a race car and duels the fraudster.
Kirikou and the Sorceress (1998)
Tumblr media
A very tiny boy with a very sharp mind, Kirikou sees the hardships of his village and solves their problems fearlessly and cleverly, where the adults suffer in helpless superstition. They tell him about a wicked witch who harms the village as best she can. And if course, he ventures out to save the village... All of this with incredibly beautiful artwork.
Last time I asked for recs but I missed out on more recent movies so here’s a list of animated movies you might have missed out on… Part 2! :) (as per last time; This post will have multiple links (to the trailers of the movies) so tumblr might try to “shadowban” it, please reblog or save somewhere else if you want to keep it.)
Long Way North (2015)
Tumblr media
In 1882, a young Russian aristocrat goes on an epic adventure to find out what happened to her grandfather and save her family’s reputation. This french animation have slipped under the radar for a lot of people, which is unfortunate because compared to a lot of the “simpler” stories in animations made for children as target audience, it’s this movies strong point.
Bilal: A New Breed of Hero (2015)
Tumblr media
A thousand years ago, one boy with a dream of becoming a great warrior is abducted with his sister and taken to a land far away from home. Thrown into a world where greed and injustice rule all, Bilal finds the courage to raise his voice and make a change. This movie is made in the United Arab Emirates about Bilal ibn Rabah’s start in life.
Zarafa (2012)
Tumblr media
A bold ten-year-old Sudanese boy befriends a young giraffe and a kind Bedouin, who takes them on a splendid journey via a hot-air balloon as far as the palace of King Charles X of France. The style in this movie is so gorgeous, much like classic western animation! French-Belgian movie.
Red Shoes and the Seven Dwarfs (2019)
Tumblr media
Princes who have been turned into green Dwarfs seek the kiss of the most beautiful girl in order to break the spell. At the same time, a princess is looking for her lost father. A fairy tale-parody with a twist. This korean movie caught a lot of unwarranted slack before being released due to a very gross ad. The ending credits are especially very cute.
Felidae (1994)
Tumblr media
The story centers on domestic house cat Francis and the grisly feline murders taking place in his new neighborhood. I would recommended people to watch this movie based on style and animation alone, but there’s a lot of… adult themes including gore and sex. Very strange in a who-the-fuck-is-this-movie-marketed-for??-way but aesthetically pleasing. Made in Germany.
Over the Moon (2020)
Tumblr media
Fei-Fei’s mother dies when she’s young and when she notices her father moving on, she takes comfort in a mythological story her mother used to tell her. Made by legendary animator Glenn Keane that worked on all your favourite Disney-movies.
Wrinkles (2011)
Tumblr media
A man with Alzheimer struggle to adjust to life in an elderly care facility. There he makes new friends and reflect on the disease. There some really strong themes of love and friendship. Watching it, I felt it was actually really refreshing seeing an animated movie with main characters (and issues) that are not just teens! Quite a bittersweet watch. Some of the scenography is also really gorgeous. Made in Spain.
Lupin III: The First (2019)
Tumblr media
Lupin III  (known character from several anime series and movies) goes on a grand adventure to uncover the secrets of the Bresson Diary, which is tied to the legacy of his famous grandfather. Sort of a really strange story at times but wonderful animation and a playfulness that reminds me of those cartoons you used to watch as a kid!

Cute elf boy headcanons yes please... ... Does he like Cassandra? Whats' his thought on Cole? Whats he like? I love DA: Inquisition so much so I'm so happy watching you work your way through it and fall in love with it the same I did
Tumblr media
And because @theladypirate also wanted to know about Kaelas my elf boy, here’s an extraordinarily long set of headcanons and backstory for him…
Tumblr media
Kaelas Lavellan is a male elf, about 22yrs old at the timeof the start of the Inquisition game timeline. As with game-canon, he was his clan’sFirst, a mage training to take over the role of Keeper one day before he wassent to the disastrous conclave… His name in his clan’s dialect (suspend yourdisbelief here, ok?!) means ‘one of embers’.
Buckle up for a bit of a sad backstory (tw for sibling death) andsome headcanons on relationships with the other main characters fromInquisition. The romance in my playthrough is Dorian-orientated too.
Kaelas has dark red hair, shaved short above his ear oneside and long to mid chest on the other (longer in my mind than the gamehairstyles will permit…). His grey eyes are piercing but actually he can’t seeclose-up very well – he has great long distance vision, but he probably needslenses to read… (which Dorian finds hilarious, as no amount of reading bycandle light has affected his eyesight at all). Kaelas is naturally lean, he’s quite fit, but he won’t be winning anyathletics contests at Skyhold any time soon. He’s very adept at storm magic, and is good with using his staff formagic spells but not at close quarters. He’s cut himself on the blade on the endmore time than he cares to admit… *seeCassandra’s role below…*
He has no vallaslin, (sacred facial tattoos) because the Keeperdecided he was not ready at the age of eighteen when most Dalish elves gettheir tattoos. It is a mark of great shame to him because he’s very proud ofhis Dalish heritage, and he would probably have born the mark of Falon'Din. (Falon’Dinis “the elven God of Death and Fortuneand guides the dead to the Beyond. He and his twin brother, Dirthamen, are theeldest children of Elgar'nan the All-Father and Mythal the Protector.”)Kaelas lost his own identical twin brother, Kaenas, (who was also training asan apprentice with the Keeper, and was a better diplomat than Kaelas though hehad no magical talent) when they were eighteen, the week before they weresupposed to get their tattoos.
I’ll stick in a ‘keep reading’ just to save people scrolling through… haha
Kaelas did not take Kaenas’ death well (whose name means ‘oneof the stars’: ‘kaen’ meaning ‘star’, while ‘kael’ means ‘ember’). In a screamof grief and rage while at his brother’s funeral, he half resurrected him fromthe dead by accident. He had had no training in necromancy, and had no interestin it, but because of his connection to his brother’s soul, the spell worked.Sort of. What he raised was a half revenant that wasn’t his brother, and which tookthree clan hunters to put to rest again… Because of this he was denied hisvallaslin for at least five years until he learned the responsibility of hispowers. He also has no desire totouch necromancy, but is learning from Dorian that it’s not all bad, especiallygiven Dorian’s history with blood magic. He left for the conclave a year beforehe was due to get his marks.
Kaelas is actually pretty naïve, despite the training and occasionalexcursions with his Keeper. His clan was more open to trade and contact withhumans than many, but that doesn’t mean he’s necessarily all that… adept. Heoften puts his foot in things by asking the innocent questions which just sort offall out of him before he’s had time to engage his brain. In that respect, he’sa little bit like Cole, though not quiteas oblivious. He always misses sexualinnuendos and flirting (queue Dorian beating his forehead against Skyhold’slibrary wall in frustration at how oblivious this stupid elf is), and he can bequite hurt by the sort of soldiers’ humour and jokes that were just intended tobe harmless fun, not realising their not serious…
Similarly, Kaelas takes most things, situations, and peopleat face value, which means he leaves himself open to being hurt, but he’llalways give people a chance to prove themselves. He is actually very warybecause he’s not good at reading people, and since all the ridiculouspoliticking that has come with his role as Inquisitor, he’s learned the hardway that people do not say what they mean, so he usually doesn’t trust peoplevery easily at all because he knows he’s gullible, if that makes sense. He alsohad absolutely no idea that Krem is trans. At all. Krem and Bull still teasehim about the expression he made when he found out because they both like towatch his ears go red. His ears go red very easily. He was so worried he’d offendedKrem by not realising somehow that he couldn’t speak to him for days, and Kremactually cornered him at the Herald’s Rest when Kaelas had had too much todrink and asked him if he’d made Kaelas uncomfortable by talking about himself.Kaelas was mortified that Krem hadgot the wrong end of the stick, and confessed that he’d never met anyone likehim – among the Dalish gender is all very fluid and all names are neutral etc.so it never occurred to him that someone would have to hide a side of themselvesfrom others like that. Krem and he laughed it off and they’re good friends now, though Kaelas is wary the Chargers’ humour as they all like to see if they canget him drunk and turn his ears beetroot red…
Cassandra was kind to him when he first set out with her forthe breach, despite her having no reason to trust him, and he appreciated that andrespected her for it. Much later he asked her if she’d teach him to fightbetter, so while he’s recovering from the avalanche and near death fromexposure on the mountainside after Haven, he begins his training with her, andthey form a rapport. He’s not intimidated by her straight way of talking, and infact, he likes it. He likes that she doesn’t mince her words or play prettyword games. She’s honest, and she’s actually a laugh in more private settings. Theytalk salacious fiction in private too, but don’t tell Dorian because he’s rudeabout it…
Kaelas doesn’t believe he’s Andraste’s herald, but herespects Cass and Leliana’s faith. He’s wary of Solas, but talks to him aboutthe Fade and about elves etc. because he’s interested to hear more about differentelves and their way of life (and he’s curious as to why Solas looks down on theDalish as provincial and rather backward…)
Cullen he’s a bit intimidated by, but he respects him andthinks his heart is in the right place.
He looks up to Varric a bit like a cheeky older brother, ever since he struck up a bond with him shortly after meeting him on the way tothe forward camp.
Kaelas would defend Cole to the death. He is unnerved by theway the kid spouts out people’s deepest thoughts, and is grateful that theanchor goes some way to masking some of his feelings from Cole. He knows that Colecan sense his deep grief from the loss of his twin, and he’s terrified thatCole’s going to start spouting out his pain around the others – he’s not toldanyone, even Dorian (yet), about Kaenas’ death). But he appreciates that Coleonly wishes to help and to heal.
And finally, Dorian. To say that to begin with Kaelas was extra ary of a Tevinter magespecialising in necromancy is a bit of an understatement, but he was. Dorianseems all brash confidence and flippant flare, until he gets to know him betterwhen he comes back to Haven with them. Dorian makes attempts to talk to Kaelasto get to know him better, and in time Kaelas starts opening up a bit, and theytalk about magic. They flirt a bit – Kaelas very poorly, much to Dorian’samusement – and when Kaelas is presumed dead in the avalanche, Dorian isdevastated.
Anyway, please feel free to ask me more about him – I wantto start writing Dragon Age fanfiction soon, but I should probably finish the gamefirst and get to know the world better. It will be Kaelas x Dorian though, abit like my series with Lein x Argis from Skyrim…
Thank you for asking me this, by the way. I’m always thrilled to get questions about my OCs. Seriously, you have no idea.

Maile, 6, was abducted from her home in Kailua, Hawaii, during a family party on August 25, 1985. She was raped, sodomized, chocked and drowned afterwards and her body was found the next day in a shallow grave along the shoreline, between Mokuleia and Kaena Point on the northwest corner of Oahu, Hawaii. James Lounsbery from Ka'a'awa, an acquaintance of Maile's father, was convicted of murdering her. He is serving a life sentence in prison. Maile was a first-grader at Aikahi Elementary School when she died. The MAILE Alert, Hawaii's equivalent of an Amber Alert, was named after her. The MAILE Alert notifies the public of abducted children through radio and television bulletins and electronic highway billboards.

The 23 secret treasures of Evia that you must first discover!
New Post has been published on https://www.eviafoxhouse.com/the-23-secret-treasures-of-evia-that-you-must-first-discover-2/
The 23 secret treasures of Evia that you must first discover!
Tumblr media
In recent years Evia has developed into a popular tourist destination, unfortunately but on the wrong occasion as the crisis was the one that brought it to the general, at least, travel public to the surface, as it is a close and economical choice! Travel – Text: Katerina Rigou However, those who know and have had it high on their travel agenda for years – can guarantee both its natural beauty and high quality services! In addition to the many well-known and beloved places in every corner of it, we will reveal to you its well-hidden “Secrets” so that each of your visits is truly a unique experience! An interesting, “different” journey to Evia begins with Chalkida as a starting point.
# 1 In the vicinity of Chalkida for! Meat!
Tumblr media
Halkida is the most popular destination -and extremely c- especially the Athenians for day trip combined with bathroom and seafood in taverns and ouzo. But this has been known for years… What is not known is that just outside the city you will find excellent meat options in picturesque, family taverns. So the next time you go, choose something different! You suggest to “fly” to Afrati -about 15΄ by road from Chalkida, 8.5 km.- where in the main square you will find “Hercules” which is famous for its delicious meats and especially ribs (most popular ewe).An alternative option, further away, is the village of Kyparissi (23 km from Chalkida, about 30 ‘) and specifically in the area of Pethamenos, as the locals call it, where you will eat delicious food from local products and excellent meat under the plane trees and next to the running water! Tip: Even in August to go, do not forget to bring a cardigan or jacket!
# 2 For Sleep or free camping on the beach of Vythouri
Tumblr media
It is 53 km away. from Chalkida on the east side of Evia and is a magical and peaceful landscape! A small creek that on the right and left is surrounded by rocks, which offer shade, while the sea µfront µ with the crystal clear waters, clear, cold and deep blue causes the senses!
You will reach the village of Glyfada (44 km from Chalkida, about 1 hour by car) and from there you will get off the dirt road (it is difficult in places) that reaches the beach.
This is an amazing getaway either for a mental excursion or for free camping if you are a fan. If, however, you decide to camping, be properly prepared, because the beach has nothing.
Nevertheless, if you go for a nap, do not miss the opportunity, before getting off, to stop in the village to “arrange” the food on the way back! Suggest the tavern-ipakaliko maintained by Mrs. Asio in her house, in the village square. She will make you eggs with potatoes and fresh cheese – actually grandma – and whatever good she may have cooked that day (if she has one) or plan to order what you want her to prepare for you when you return!null
# 3 For alternative activities in Karystos
Tumblr media
Particularly popular, Karystos is 114 km away from Chalkida. -about 2 hours by car- and is the largest city of South Evia and one of the most famous destinations on the island.
With beaches either organized or quieter, many choices in food and entertainment, with the coastal road pulsating with life, it is a popular choice. In Karystos as you will find the other side, the most alternative…
Visit the Gorge of Diosaris in Ochi, the mountain that dominates above Karystos at an altitude of 1,399 µ., And discover the special green side of South Evia!
Tip : In Karystos you will be from the port of Rafina for an hour until March and from there by car about 15 ‘.
# 4 At the waterfalls of Drymona
Tumblr media
Drymonas is a mountain village in Northern Evia at an altitude of 580 µ., Located opposite the Monastery of Saint David, at a distance of 1 km, at the foot of Mount Xiros.
Its name probably comes from the dense forest of oaks, oaks, and pines that surrounds it, or from the bitter cold that prevails in the area during the winter.
Get there to admire the waterfalls of Drymona that compose a site of inexhaustible natural beauty ονται They are located at an altitude of 620 meters, 4 kilometers after the Monastery of Saint David, from the road that starts from R.
The route through the vegetated environment is really wonderful!
# 5 Wander the beauties of South Evia
Tumblr media
Beautiful canyons with dense vegetation and running waters, beautiful beaches and extensive sandy beaches, picturesque archipelagos, Lake Distos , the massif of Ochi (highest peak of the Prophet Elias , 1,399 m.), The legendary Cavo Doro, unique Drakospita compose the attractive image of South Evia, which is like a fairy tale.
Tumblr media
Choose one of the many villages or settlements – In the largest and most famous city Karystos – for your stay or for the most alternative beach for camping and leave it to the Health of the area.
From activities, water sports and great taverns to attractions, hiking and unique beaches, we guarantee that this holiday will be unforgettable!
# 6 Edipsos Baths

# 11 For… cult fun  in Paliouras!
It is known that in the villages of Evia in the summer and especially during the period of the 15th of August there are many festivals.
Tumblr media
Like it or not, this cult way is a real’s traditional experience!
So if you want to experience it, every year in the village of Paliouras (24 km from Chalkida, about 30 minutes by road) become one of the biggest well-known artists in the area, which of course are accompanied by meat on the spit, ,pyres and ίσ whiskey! Specifically, the most “popular” is organized by Leon, for a large tavern in the center of the village.
If, on the other hand, you have no appetite for festivals, make a stop in the village returning from your vacation (maybe if you have gone to Chiliadou, as you will meet it on the way back) because you will eat the best kontosouvli!
# 12 Discover Korasida beach in Achladeri!
Seventy kilometers south of Chalkida after passing Aliveri and the intersection for Karystos (continuing to Kypi), follow the signage and after a few minutes of uphill route you will see the village of Achladeri .
Going downhill, you will get a first taste of the beach in beautiful colors…
An Aegean beach, one of the most beautiful in Evia, large in area with white pebbles, deep blue waters and very interesting seabed.
It is so large in size (both in height and width) that you will hardly find it wide! It is not organized and if you exclude the few trees high, you should be careful since the sun burns almost all day!
It is good to achieve it without a dog, since due to the large area it is exposed to the weather. When the sea is calm, the transparency and colors of the water and the seabed are truly enchanting. ..
# 13 For Sleep in Rovies
It is 86 km away. from Chalkida, about 1 hour and 40 minutes drive, and is a village built in the arc formed by the pine-covered mountains Telethrio and Kavalaris , in the heart of a huge olive grove that connects the foot of the mountain with the sea.
It is one of the most beautiful coastal villages of Northern Evia µ with an endless beach in length µ with fine pebbles and clear and deep blue waters, while the sunset is fascinating…
Apart from the beach, at the first opportunity visit the newly established women’s ion of Agia Irini of Chrysovallantos, built in a beautiful location very close to the road Lini – Rovia – Edipsos.
# 14 For sleeping in the Klimaki
Very close to the village of Petries , 60 km. from Chalkida (about 1 hour), you will find the beach Klimaki. It is a small bay protected from the unfortunate.
In contrast to almost all the beaches of Evia that are bathed by the Aegean, the sea in Klimaki is relatively shallow. Next to the beach there are a few taverns, while alternatively you can eat at Agios Apostolos – which is the next beach.
# 15 For Sleep in Petries Handmade
This is a unique beach in South Evia, on the Aegean side, essentially a large bay, which hardly “fills” people even in August, while some choose to set up their tent here. With very fine pebbles in its largest part, on the south side and crystal blue-green waters, it will impress you!
Tip: After Aliveri, in the village of Lepoura turn to Petries. After Petries you head to Agios Apostolos and turn towards Stomio. Follow the dirt road to find yourself in Cheromylos.
# 16 Free camping in Limnionas!
The beach of Limniona in central Evia is 50 km from Chalkida, about 1 hour by car. It is bathed from the Aegean, it has a small low pebble, very interesting seabed with stones, rocks and many fish and it is bordered by the mountain slopes in a big bay that is divided into two beaches by a big rock!
Tumblr media
The right and largest part of the beach is closer to the parking lot and the taverns, while the campers are limited up and under the trees. Its left and lower part of the cave and the steep cliffs attract more  campers (although camping is prohibited). In the house, however, you will not find accommodation.
Tumblr media
Tip: To the right of the beach is, walking up the cliff, the famous island of Baker, an Englishman who has bought a big house there, in the small and steep alleys of this beach.
# 17 Live story in Edipsos for a walk!
Tumblr media
Apart from Loutra, visit Edipsos:

To enjoy at night a sunset Psagiko overlooking the North Evia Gulf
To admire an exceptional work by Ziller, the old hydrotherapy center of Agioi Anargyroi. Behind it, you will find the baths and the cave of the Russian general Sulla, preserved from the Roman period – one of the most remarkable sights in the area.
# 18 To eat hunting in Petali!
A short distance from the beach of Petali, among fir and chestnut trees, you will find the family tavern of Tseliga where you will enjoy delicacies µ meat from their herd (deer, wild boar, pheasants, χάosharia), located. from the tavern. Ideal stop for eating after sleep!
# 19 For windsurfing in South Evia!
The strong northern winds and the strong currents as well as the narrow passage to the beach of Megali Aio and the island of Mikros Petalios make South Evia and specifically the area 2 km. from Marmari popular destination for wind surf!
Tumblr media
From Marmari, with the exception of Aliropotaios (which is near Styra), the most famous beach is Megali Ammos, known for its changeable shape, which every year is different depending on the currents of the sea and the waves!
Tumblr media
That’s why it is especially popular as a meeting place for surfers everywhere from Greece and Europe !
Tumblr media
# 20 Marmari: The Perfect Hub of the South…
The Marmari is from Halkida 111 km. (about 2 hours by car or alternatively just one hour from Rafina by closed type Ferry Boat), is located on the south side and is a picturesque natural circle, an ideal landmark to explore South Evia.
Starting ακριβώς just opposite the port you will find the complex of Petalia , which consists of nine small islands, which are enchanted by the colorful waters and the exotic beaches that are not reminiscent of the others of southern Evia. The islands were formed by the subsidence of the land and the erosion of the sea’s waves.
Tumblr media
You will be there by boat from Mariari in a few minutes. Continuing µMaria may be better known but the small neighboring villages are just as beautiful as Agios Dimitrios, Aktaio, Giannitsio, Kallianos and Katsaroni , as they capture : the greatness of nature!
Routes under plane trees and next to rivers, dreamy pristine beaches, colors, serenity and tranquility in an aronic whole that looks as if it has not yet been explored!
Take a tour of some of the nearby beaches, such as the bays of Agia Paraskevi, Chrysi Aios and Zastani, with turquoise waters, pebbles and sand.
# 21 In the paths of Dirfi…
Although the homonymous water is as well known as the mountain itself, most people stop there. The Dirfi (or Dirfys ) dominates the center of Evia and is the highest mountain (altitude 1.743m.), With intense relief and remarkable flora and avifauna.
Tumblr media
Chestnuts, firs, oaks, plane trees, deciduous, rare wildflowers, streams in running water adorn its slopes and is ideal for unique hiking trails on marked landmarks of both its natural and traditional paths, impressing its traditional paths!
22 Travel to the villages of Dirfi…
The Close is built on an impressive ravine with running water and trees. The chestnut forest, the dense vegetation, the traditional color and its taverns attract visitors all year round.
The Stropones is a traditional village, built amphitheatrically, in an area with abundant water and crops. In their beautiful square you will see mulberries, cypresses, a plane tree and a fountain.
Near Agios Athanasios , a village built at the foot of Dirfi, is the gorge of Agali , of special natural beauty, with wooden bridges, linoles and running water.
Tumblr media
A short distance from Kathenos , a village with traditional stone houses and beautiful churches, are Eria , a wonderful area with abundant water, plane trees and the Byzantine church of the Virgin Monomeritissa-Ypapantis.
Tumblr media
The dense vegetation and the running waters compose the beautiful natural environment in Kampia.
Xerovouni rises above the village , a mountain with an impressive relief. Significant palaeontological findings have come to light in the wider Cape region.
Tumblr media
In Loutsa , a village that stretches near the foot of Dirfi, you will see the stone fountains, the paved square and the churches.
# 23 For lobster spaghetti in Kymi
Tumblr media
The Kymi in eastern Evia, 87 km. from Chalkida, in its privileged position, built amphitheatrically on a hill from where it “supervises” the Aegean – for this reason it is also called the Aegean Balcony – is one of the most famous villages of Evia with interesting sights, strong historical background suggestions on food, drink and accommodation.
There are many taverns with excellent food but definitely try lobster spaghetti with fresh lobster from local fishermen! Besides, if you find yourself, do not hesitate to pre-order the excellent products it produces, with the trademark of figs!
Tumblr media
Tip: Near Kymi you will find beautiful beaches such as Platana, Kalogiros, Stomio Oxylithou and Mourteri.

ok @lorna-sallydane. flint land is:
a dual story
half the time, it’s in the real world and half the time it takes place in a story being told to the main character by one of her parents
the main character is an eight year old girl named katrina. she’s permanently hospitalized as her doctors try to free her of lung cancer. her parents moved into a new apartment when she was transferred to the state’s biggest hospital for better care, so they’re only a short drive away. they visit her every day
in the story, katrina is the character kaena, and she’s twelve years old. she’s very smart and good at solving problems. the story works like that. she and each of her parents are a character.
her parents are named derek and magnus (named after magneto and one of my neighbors lmao)
derek is a veterinarian and he works at a hospital down the road from the apartment. in the story he’s named devriel, and he’s kaena’s traveling companion.
magnus moved from sweden about nine years before the story starts, and he writes a television show, called viska(whisper) that aires in sweden. in the story his name is morgunn, and he’s the villain. he also tells the story, because he’s a writer(?)
he has family in sweden that he keeps in touch with- his big sister ebba, her second husband petur, and her children elfa and stebbi from her first marriage
it’s written for ages like 10-13 bc it’s the sort of story i’d have enjoyed at that age
it’s a mix of fantasy adventure and realistic drama and it’s easier to write than my other things so i end up working on it a lot
hope that explained it!

Kark 1 (Talkus)
Duval had been entrusted with the offerings. He was to take them from his local parish to Cabra. It would leave Cabra in a caravan bound for Yvain. His horse was too laden for him to ride.
Before he left the parish he was stopped by another priest.
           "Brother Duval, a moment."
           "Yes Brother Menscom."
"Congratulations on your appointment to carry the offerings to Cabra. I have heard it is a marvelous city."
"Thank you Brother, but business before pleasure."
"Indeed. I have come to warn you."
           "Of what Brother?"
"A band of thieves have moved into the area of the road running by the Gora River. I would steer clear of it on principle."
"Thank you Brother Menscom. I will bear it in mind as I make my way."
Brother Menscom laid a hand on Duval's shoulder.
           "Think nothing of it."
Duval left the parish house with a small retinue of laymen guards. The going was quick. They forewent the road near Gora River. Ravenwood seemed safer and the town would happily receive them.
Brother Menscom sat in his study. A religious text on the conflict between Huma and Benaal lay open nearby. He looked out of the single large window and watched the clouds.
I hope he took my advice. I'd hate to see Duval injured, offerings be damned.
He stood and paced. His study was mainly shelves carved of varying woods. He stopped at an unusual noise. Menscom listened for a moment before returning to his book. He had a treatise he was supposed to be finishing.
A priest walked the halls. He went to one of the large libraries. He set a book of Milerna on a table. He watched the sun sink slowly towards the horizon. It would begin just before the evening meal.     The priest shelved the book. He headed for the dormitories.
Brother Menscom looked up from his parchment. It was almost time for the evening meal with his fellows. He finished his thought and capped his ink bottle. Rising from his desk, he lit his circlet with a spell. He tried to open his door.
           It wouldn't budge.
The priest found the room he was looking for. He scanned the hall before pressing his ear to the door. There was someone within. He removed the enchanted nail from his belt. With the press of his hand it slid home with a slight squeak. The priest winced at the sound and listened at the door again. The occupant seemed not to notice.
           Time for the tricky part.
Brother Menscom tried the door again. He pulled until his shoulders were sore.
What in the name of Kaena?
He felt a gust of wind. He spun to face his window. It was open. The evening breeze was chill and foretold the coming snows.
Brother Menscom sidled to his right. His hand clutched at his flail.
The priest made his way outside. He had mentally marked the window earlier. If he was right his target would be trapped inside. Magic being what it was that might not be the case. He would need to rely on his old friends.
           Surprise and fear.
Brother Menscom scanned his study. Nothing appeared out of place. The shadows had grown long in the cloudy dusk. His candlelit circlet was the only light in the room.
A sound from his right made Brother Menscom start. He raised his flail.
The priestly vestments were deposited in a bush in the gardens. The man used a short incantation. His form became less substantial. With ease the man scaled the dormitory's side.
           The window was unlocked.
Four stories up and no lock on the window? Surprising, stupid, or complacent...
The window made no noise as it opened. The man slipped in and stood before one of the shelves. He noted the priest and turned to regard the shelf as he flicked a hand towards the door.
The flail struck nothing. Brother Menscom caught the head before its' return arc could damage anything.
           "Where are you?"
Brother Menscom didn't expect an answer. He knew something was in the room though.
           "Show yourself."
A strange shape, near the wall across the room. Brother Menscom saw a flicker of motion and launched a spell.
The image to the man's left erupted in flame. It fell in fiery trails of shadowstuff. He glanced at it as he sent another past it.
The same questions every time. Predictable.
He slowly drew his blade, his shade did as well. The time to strike would be soon.
Brother Menscom saw movement. One advanced from his left, the other his right. It was difficult to see what they were in the gloom. He intoned a quick prayer and both were outlined in golden-yellow flame.
"Take this moment to think about what you are doing. What good can come of killing one such as me?"
           The creatures spoke as one.
"I am about to kill a man for profit. What more is there?"
           The two came at him.
Brother Menscom brought his flail down. The shadow dissipated as it was struck. He felt something strike him, but he felt nothing. A man stepped back from him. A pair of blades struck Brother Menscom in the chest.
The priest sank down against the door. He started to intone a prayer but the man shoved something into his mouth.
           "None of that now."
Brother Menscom tried to swing with his flail. The head skittered along the floor. The man chuckled.
"Good. I like a man who tries." Two more daggers flashed, embedding in Brother Menscom's gut. "Even if it is pointless."
The pain caught up to him and his head swam. The man grabbed Brother Menscom by the hair and looked him in the eyes.
"When you see your precious goddess tell her Laeshün Kark sends his regards."
Kark pulped the priest's face with his other hand. He struck again and again. His fury rising with each hit.
There was a commotion at the door.
           Damn!
Kark left his blades in the priest's body. He strode to the window and leapt out. He opened his cloak and let the wind catch it. He fell hard, but rolling. He was up and off at a sprint in no time.
The offerings made their way safely to Cabra.
