WRESTLING ALL STARS: Heroes and Villains : JUNE 1996
HENRY GODWINN VS H.H. HELMSLEY! PIG STY FEVER
A Godwinn tries to slop HHH, but misses badly
Godwinn sleeps in the slop following his wild brawl with Hunter Hearst Helmsley.
Godwinn hurls Helmsley into the pig sty.
Helmsley, too, took a snooze during the pig sty match.
It was the man with his nose in the air against the man with his nose to the ground!
Helmsly and Godwinn roll around on the floor.
Mr. Snob vs Mr. Hog in a roll through the grossest of muck!
Godwinn lets out a cry: “Sooooooo-weeee!”
Hillbilly Jim tries to stop Godwinn from injuring HHH
Hillbilly Jim came to Godwinn’s aid.
Hillbilly Jim and Henry Godwinn: a new alliance!
Helmsley emerges from the pig sty in bad need of a shower.
If the brutality didn’t get you, the stench did!!

Royal Rumble Marathon: 1998
The Rumble has entered 1998.
Warning, spoilers for past Rumbles.
We are now officially in the Attitude Era so expect shenanigans. I haven’t watched the Attitude Era in over a decade but I’m expecting to feel a lot of retrospective cringe.
The undercard:
We see a recap of the previous two months of Goldust’s activities. This is the era where Goldust dumped Marlena and is now accompanied by Luna Vachon. Dustin has ditched his traditional gold attire and now wears a variety of outfits. Tonight’s special is a lime green/purple-striped singlet tights, purple gloves, green and purple-striped face paint with blue hair. Dustin is also wearing a leopard-print thong over his tights. Luna’s attire is a black/red bikini combo with a clear plastic skirt/tutu. She’s also wearing flesh-colored tights. Luna has half her face covered with the traditional Goldust colors. The other half of Luna’s face has her tattoos.
Goldust (with Luna) vs Vader. Match was fine. The ending comes when Vader (with Luna on his back) delivers a top-rope Vader bomb to Goldust. Dustin is always fun and Luna continues to be a badass. This era of Dustin was crazy but fun. You never knew what Goldust was going to wear.
Steve Austin arrives, threatens to whoop Michael Coles’ ass. The Godwinns are in search of Austin.
We have a six-man lucha libre match: Battalion, Tarantula, El Torito vs Max Mini, Mosaic, and Nova. Sunny is the special guest referee. Fun match.
Soon after this, Sunny’s life begins to spiral, leading to her dismissal from the WWF and a lifetime of self-destruction. It’s a shame as Sunny was a talented performer. Of course, the true tragedy is the man she killed due to her drunk driving.
The Nation of Domination is now in search of Steve Austin. Farooq tells Mark Henry that he has to “prove himself”.
Mike Tyson hangs out with Shane and Vince. I don’t care about Mike Tyson. I don’t care about boxing. Tyson’s rape conviction, and his abusive tendencies, do not make me excited to see him on my wrestling programs. Of course, sitting next to Vince makes Tyson look like an altar boy by comparison.
Recap of the Ken Shamrock-Nation of Domination feud. The Rock is still with the Nation at this point, Mark Henry has newly joined.
Rock promo where he advises Bill Clinton to “not lay down with dogs” (referencing Paula Jones, and yes, the Rock names her specifically) and to “cover his willy”. Remember those cringe moments I said we’d encounter in the Attitude Era. Calling the woman suing a man for sexual harassment, even a President, a “dog” is one.
Ken Shamrock vs the Rock for the Intercontinental Championship. The Rock wins via DQ. Shamrock attacks referee Mike Chioda in the aftermath. Fine match.
The Boricuas are now searching for Steve Austin but find the D.O.A. instead. This is the era of multiple factions – mostly centering on race – were running wild in the WWE. Los Boricuas, the Nation of Domination, The Truth Commission, and D.O.A. (Disciples of Apocalypse) were the main factions.
The New Age Outlaws vs the Legion of Doom for the Tag Team titles. The Legion wins via DQ. Back-to-back DQ victories is a questionable call on a pay per view.
The Rumble entrants, in order of appearance:
Cactus Jack
Chainsaw Charlie (Terry Funk)
Tom Brandi
The Rock
Mosh of the Headbangers
Phineas Godwinn
8-Ball (Don Harris)
Blackjack Bradshaw (JBL)
Owen Hart (Jeff Jarrett and Jim Cornette ambush Owen on his way to the ring)
Steve Blackman
D’Lo Brown
Kurrgan
Marc Mero (accompanied by Sable)
Ken Shamrock
Thrasher of the Headbangers
Mankind
Goldust (in silver singlet tights with red knee-high fishnets and a black bikini on the outside of the tights, Luna has also changed her outfit to a silver one)
Jeff Jarrett (accompanied by Jim Cornette)
Honky Tonk Man (Hunter and Chyna stroll out to ringside during his entrance and cause Owen to be eliminated)
Ahmed Johnson
Mark Henry
Skull
Kama Mustafa
Steve Austin
Henry Godwinn
Savio Vega (accompanied by the Boricuas)
Farooq
Dude Love
Chainz (Brian Lee)
Vader
Steve Austin wins again, making him the 3rd multiple time winner – Hulk Hogan and Shawn Michaels are the others.
Rumble Highlights: Cactus-Charlie brawl (minus the unprotected chairshots), Rock-Austin outside the ring brawl and in-ring finale
Rumble Feuds: Cactus vs Charlie, Rock vs Shamrock, Owen vs Jarrett, Owen vs Hunter
More cringe moments: the unprotected, non-gimmicked chairshots Funk and Cactus gave each other. Please, no! Did the Harris brothers have their Nazi tattoos yet? (I can’t see clearly but if so, that is worse than cringe).
First-time Rumblers: Tom Brandi, Mosh, Steve Blackman, Kurrgan, Ken Shamrock, Thrasher, Mark Henry, Chainz
Surprise Entrants: Honky Tonk Man, 3 Faces of Foley
Quickest Elimination: Tom Brandi
Most Eliminations: Steve Austin
Unite to Eliminate the Big Man spot: Kurrgan
The final match of the ppv isn’t the Rumble (which I dislike). The final match is Shawn Michaels vs the Undertaker for the World championship in a casket match.
Shawn and Taker’s previous match was the first Hell In A Cell match. A casket match seems to be a step down in intensity.
Shawn is accompanied by Hunter and Chyna. The New Age Outlaws and the Boricuas attack the Undertaker but are run off by Kane. Kane then attacks the Undertaker and throws him into the casket. Kane and Paul Bearer lock the casket and set it on fire.
Shawn wins but severely injures his back when he bumps on the casket during the match. This would lead to Shawn’s post-Wrestlemania match.
Rating: 6 out of 10. Solid undercard, fun Rumble, good main event
Wrestlers and others who have passed on: Howard Finkel, Vader, Luna Vachon, Tarantula (Espectrito II), Torito (Espectrito), the Legion of Doom, Terry Funk, Chyna, Paul Bearer
Total number of deceased individuals: 11 (down 3 from the previous Rumble)

RockaBilly x Fem Reader- "Kiss Me"
I hope you readers won't be offended over this fanfiction, but viewer discretion is advised.
_____________________________________________________________
In 1997, World Wrestling Federation tagteam the Smoking Gunns had broken up, where both members tried embarking on solo/singles wrestling careers.
During that year, former Smoking Gunns member Billy Gunn got a new gimmick and became known as RockaBilly---a country western singer whose manager was the Honky Tonk Man.
On a "Monday Night Raw" episode that aired in March of 1997, Hunter Hearst Helmsley had a match against RockaBilly, and you were Hunter's valet.
After walking up the stairs that lead to the ring and carefully walking above the rings apron and next to the ropes, you walked to an area where RockaBilly was standing near in the ring.
You began to shout at RockaBilly and berate him, and RockaBilly noticed you near the ring.
RockaBilly strolled to you calmly, and Hunter didn't really walk behind RockaBilly to attack him.
In fact, Hunter was selling a wrestling move and making it look painful, but there's a reason why Hunter hasn't walked behind RockaBilly to attack him.
Once RockaBilly stood right in front of you and very close to you, as you were still squabbling at him, RockaBilly's hands grabbed the sides of your head and pulled your head and face closer to his, where your mouth locked in between his mouth and he kissed you.
RockaBilly's eyes shut as your mouth attached to his, whereas many people in the audience were cheering and outraged seeing him kissing you.
You, on the other hand, were panicking and freaking out, your hands trembling while your arms flailed and waved.
No matter how much you wanted to be freed, RockaBilly wouldn't let you go.
RockaBilly then pulled your face away from his face, where your lips separated from his mouth.
Your face was completely shocked and appalled after RockaBilly had kissed you, your mouth agape and your eyebrows raised while your eyes were wide.
RockaBilly removed his hands off of your head, but Hunter saw what happened to you and HHH was furious.
After RockaBilly kissed you, he turned around and resumed the match with Hunter.
You, on the other hand, left the ring by walking towards the stairs and walking down them, where you continued watching this match.
At least it wasn't Henry Godwinn or the Headbangers kissing you, that's really disgusting.
To be honest, RockaBilly is handsome.
Not to mention, many male wrestlers could've kissed you in this moment.
Shawn Michaels could've done it, although by the end of the year he, Hunter and you would form a wrestling trio.
Brian Pillman could definitely have done it, but he and Hunter would eventually have many matches together this year.
Bret Hart and Davey Boy Smith probably aren't the types to do this.
Even that infamous Fake Razor Ramon from late 1996 and early 1997 could've kissed you, but would you readers want to read about that notorious fake Razor Ramon?
Leif Cassidy did pull your face in for a kiss last year at a WWF house show.
While RockaBilly may have kissed Sunny last year, Henry Godwinn kissed Sunny and Chyna.
In professional wrestling, there are moments where a wrestler will kiss the opponent's female valet or manager to embarrass them.
Examples would be when Shawn Michaels pulled Sunny's face in for a kiss, when Henry Godwinn pulled Sunny's and Chyna's faces closer for him to kiss them, Rowdy Roddy Piper kissing Sensational Sherri, when Billy Gunn leaned down and kissed Sunny, and when the Bodydonnas' new manager Cloudy kissed Leif Cassidy to embarrass him (Cloudy was a man dressed in drag).

WWF Magazine featuring The Godwinns & Sunny [September 1996]
When I first got into professional wrestling, I have this vivid memory of hanging out at my cousin’s house and seeing a commercial during Shotgun Saturday Night (which aired at 11am, despite the name) for the forthcoming WWF Magazine. The issue’s cover featured The Godwinns “slopping” their former manager, Sunny. The team of The Godwinns (Phineas and Henry) were filthy rednecks who the fans either loved or despised, depending on the time frame. In this instance, the team were beloved for “slopping” Sunny. The act of slopping involved taking the bucket carried to ringside by the team, which contained different kinds of leftover foods meant to feed pigs, and dumping the contents of the bucket on someone.
At WrestleMania XII, Sunny was in the corner of The Bodydonnas (Skip & Zip), who defeated The Godwinns for the WWF World Tag Team Championships. However, within weeks, The Godwinns regained the gold, which led to Sunny turning on her team in order to join The Godwinns. Specifically, Phineas, who Sunny feigned a romantic interest in. When The Godwinns defended the titles against The Smokin' Gunns, Sunny turned on her team, aiding Billy & Bart Gunn in gaining the championships. However, at In Your House: Mind Games, The Smokin' Gunns were defeated by Owen Hart & The British Bulldog for the gold. In continuing her obsession over managing the tag team champions, Sunny attempted to rekindle her relationship with Phineas Godwinn. During an interview by Jim Ross, Sunny laid herself at Phineas’ mercy:
youtube
Say what you will about Tammy Sytch the human being, but as a character, she was second to none in being a pure character. Sunny getting slopped is one of my first memories in professional wrestling, and a few years later, when I attended my first show, The Godwinns were the first team who stepped through the curtains. I’ll always have love for those dudes.

WRESTLING ALL STARS: Heroes and Villains : JUNE 1996
Shawn Michaels 1996 Royal Rumble Winner!
By George Napolitano
On January 21 in Fresno, California, Shawn Michaels accomplished exactly what he set out to do when he outlasted 29 other competitors to win the 1996 Royal Rumble. Going into the Rumble no one knew how Michaels would fare as he had been advised by doctors to retire from the sport due to complications from injuries he had sustained in an unprovoked non-wrestling-related attack outside a Syracuse, New York, nightclub. But Michaels was undaunted. He was determined to continue his career and his quest for the WWF title despite numerous pleas from his doctors and close friends (Ed. Note: See related story on page 16), and despite the great odds “The Heartbreak Kid” Shawn Michaels accomplished his dream.
To win the 1996 Royal Rumble Shawn Michaels had to withstand a barrage of punishment from quite a few very tough men. On his way to victory Michaels personally eliminated Vader, Yokozuna, the 1-2-3 Kid, Jerry Lawler, Owen Hart, Dr. Yankem and the British Bulldog. After everyone else had been eliminated the only man left was his good friend and former champion. Diesel. Then, using a swift side karate kick, Michaels sensent the seven- foot ex-champion sailing right out of the ring. With This Shawn Michaels had done the seemingly impossible: He won the Royal Rumble for the second straight year.
With his victory in the 1996 Royal RUmble, Shawn Michaels earned the right to wrestle the WWF champion on March 29 at Wrestlemania XII in Anaheim, California.

I’ll never forget the night they started Brawl for All, because we had a power outage right after Raw started. So we got cut off after they announced Kane vs. “Stone Cold” Steve Austin for the world title, and then when we got it back they’ve dimmed the house lights and there are jobbers doing a boxing match of all things. I may have wondered if I fell into a parallel universe.
Keep in mind, back in those days the USA network had a boxing show. I’d seen ads for Tuesday Night Fights since before I even knew the difference between pro wrestling and boxing. If I had wanted to watch boxing, I had been given ample opportunity to try it out. I did not.
The only thing that interested me about Brawl for All was that it seemed like a tournament to give jobbers a chance to shine. At no point did I realize that it was supposed to determine which of the legit tough guys in the locker room could beat everyone else in a real fight. I was already all over insider wrestling websites by then, but the “so-and-so could kick everyone’s ass in real life” legends hadn’t fully permeated the internet yet. And nothing in the kayfabe WWF product had suggested to me that Stone Cold and the Undertaker had anything to worry about from the likes of, uh, Henry O. Godwinn or Bodacious Bart.
That’s what annoys me about the whole “legit badass” mystique in pro wrestling. It’s like, why should I care about “Dr. Death” Steve Williams? Because he could beat all the other wrestlers in a real fight. So why isn’t he the world champion, then? Because pro wrestling is worked. Then why does it matter which wrestlers are actually tough? Because you need legit tough guys to play enforcer if somebody exposes the business. But you have to expose the business to explain any of that, so what’s the point? You might as well suspend disbelief with the pretend tough guys, or switch over to UFC.

Royal Rumble Marathon: 1998
The Rumble has made it to 1997.
Warning for past Rumbles.
The undercard:
Goldust (accompanied by Marlena) vs Hunter Hearst Helmsley (accompanied by Curtis Hughes) for the Intercontinental title. Hunter wins via the Pedigree. Hughes is no Chyna.
Rumble hype vignettes form Bret Hart and Mankind.
Farooq (Ron Simmons, accompanied by the Nation of Domination and other individuals) vs Ahmed Johnson. Ahmed wins via DQ and brawls with the Nation afterwards. This was an early version of the Nation of Domination that featured PG-13 and Crush.
Vader vs the Undertaker. Paul Bearer shows up mid-match and gets pushed around by Taker. Taker wins.
Rumble hype vignettes from Steve Austin (no longer the Ringmaster, he is now “Stone Cold”) and Davey Boy Smith who states he’s going to win the Rumble as he is “bizarre”.
A six-man tag team match features the following wrestlers from AAA: Hector Garza, Perro Aguayo, and El Canek vs Jerry Estrada, Heavy Metal, and Fuerza Guerrera. An attempt to counter the luchadors of WCW or an addition due to the pay per view taking place in Texas? The team of Aguayo, Garza, and Canek won. Unsurprisingly, this is the most athletic and fastest-paced match of the undercard.
Once again the Rumble is not the final bout of the pay-per-view. While I would normally agree that the World title match should end the ppv, the Rumble is the exception. The Rumble should always go last.
The entrants in order of appearance:
Crush (accompanied by Clarence Mason)
Ahmed Johnson
Fake Razor Ramon
Phineas Godwinn (accompanied by Hillbilly Jim)
“Stone Cold” Steve Austin
Bart Gunn
Jake Roberts
Davey Boy Smith
Pierroth
The Sultan (Rikishi) (accompanied by the Iron Shiek)
Mil Mascaras
Hunter Hearst Helmsley
Owen Hart (accompanied by his Slammy trophy)
Goldust (accompanied by Marlena)
Cybernetico
Marc Mero (accompanied by Sable)
Latin Lover
Farooq
Savio Vega
Jesse James (aka Road Dog)
Bret Hart (Steve Austin’s “Oh Crap” face when Bret’s music was fantastic
Jerry Lawler
Fake Diesel (aka Kane)
Terry Funk (3 months from now Funk will be headlining ECW’s first ppv – Barely Legal)
Rocky Maivia (pre-the Rock but not yet drowned out by “Rocky Sucks” chants)
Mankind
Flash Funk
Vader
Henry Godwinn (accompanied by Hillbilly Jim)
Undertaker
First-time Rumblers: Ahmed Johnson, Phineas Godwinn
Surprise Entrants: Pierroth, Mil Mascaras, Cybernetico, Latin Lover, Terry Funk
“Oops! I ‘accidentally’ eliminated my friend” spot: Owen eliminates Davey Boy
Commentator joins the Rumble: Jerry Lawler, first time this spot is used in the Rumble
Winner: Steve Austin (though Austin had been eliminated by Bret but the refs didn’t see it). Bret has a hissy and asks Vince when he’s going to do something about it – one of the few references to Vince’s actual role in the company before he adopted the “Mr. McMahon” character.
Most Eliminations: Steve Austin with a total of 10, tying the previous record held by Hulk Hogan.
Quickest Eliminations: Jerry Lawler, Fake Razor Ramon
Highlight of the Rumble: Bret vs Steve (the pair has around 4 minutes to themselves in the ring and then focus on each other for the rest of the Rumble)
Feuds in the Rumble: Bret vs Steve, Mankind vs Terry Funk, Hunter vs Goldust, Ahmed vs the Nation), Vader vs Taker
The Road To Wrestlemania: Bret vs Steve
The WWE’s roster was thin at this point as 5 of the 30 participants were not members of the roster and another 6 participants pulled double-duty on the card.
Shawn Michaels (accompanied by Jose Lothario) vs Psycho Sid for the World championship. Shawn defeats Sid to regain the championship but will forfeit the title soon afterwards due to losing his smile”.
Wrestlers and others who have passed on: Jacques Rougeau Sr., Crush, Vader, Paul Bearer, Hector Garza, Perro Aguayo, Fake Razor Ramon (Rick Bognar), Davey Boy Smith, Iron Shiek, Owen Hart, Terry Funk, Jose Lothario, Pat Patterson
Total number of deceased individuals: 13 (up 3 from the previous Rumble)

Shawn Michaels, Hunter Hearst Helmsley x Fem Reader- "Kiss"
On a "Monday Night Raw" episode that aired near the end of 1996, Hunter Hearst Helmsley had a match against Shawn Michaels, and you were Hunter's valet.
One moment in this match involved you standing on top of the ring's apron outside of the ropes.
Shawn was standing right next to you and in front of you outside of the ropes yet still standing in the ring, where Shawn had one of his arms slung around the side of your back.
Shawn bent the top of his body forward and leaned his head forward, where he dipped your body and arched your back backwards.
As Shawn was leaning his chest and head forward and bent over, his mouth locked in between your lips and kissed it.
While he was kissing you, your arm and hand waved around like you're freaking out.
Hunter watched Shawn kissing you, which completely shocked and upset HHH.
Hunter's mouth was open in shock, where he stormed up to Shawn fuming at the Heartbreak Kid.
Shawn then raised his head and chest up and away from your face and removed his arm off of the small of your back, where one of your hands grabbed a rope on the ring and you managed to try to keep your balance.
Even though Shawn is admittedly sexy, you were staying in character and your face looked shocked and horrified after Shawn had kissed you.
Hunter argued and bickered at Shawn for kissing you, since you belonged to Hunter and no one else.
This moment of you being kissed by Shawn was a recreation of when Billy Gunn kissed Sunny at a World Wrestling Federation pay-per-view known as "In Your House: Beware of Dog".
Despite that Shawn had kissed you, it wasn't a trap for Hunter to be distracted and end up hurt, like how when Billy Gunn kissed Sunny, Henry Godwinn was appalled seeing Billy kissing her because she was the Godwinn's manager, and as Henry was upset over that, Bart Gunn did a wrestling move on Henry.
Shawn is absolutely gorgeous, no doubt about that, but there are other wrestlers who could've kissed you during this moment.
Leif Cassidy from the New Rockers maybe (before he grew facial hair), but he and Hunter have had matches together already.
Billy Gunn already kissed Sunny similarly before.
Bret Hart and Davey Boy Smith aren't really the types to kiss you like that.
Marty Jannetty could've kissed you, but his hair looked rather awful in the middle and end of 1996.
While you wouldn't mind it if some sexy male opponent kissed you as a trick to distract Hunter and get attacked, you love Hunter so much.
