Same landscape, different views (Lake Arrowhead, USA)
Acrylic and polymer on canvas
130x150cm
2023
On a fateful day, as the Copenhagen citizens prepared to celebrate diversity and accomplishments at the Pride Parade, a young man's anger on the other side of the planet consumed him. Tragically, he targeted Laura Ann, ending her life way too soon and leaving an immense void within the tight-knit local community that held her in high regard.
Laura Ann was an unwavering ally, embodying the true essence of support. Her early death was a result of the disgusting hatred directed towards the LGBTQ community, a cause she championed fearlessly.
Often seen wearing a light brown hat, now gently swaying in the breeze above the calm waters of Lake Arrowhead, Laura Ann's memory shall forever endure. May she be eternally remembered for her courage and resolute determination.
Laura Ann is leaving behind a legacy that will continue to inspire generations to come.
Laura Ann died at the age of 66.

Leonora/Leonardo XII
Acrylic and polymer on canvas
50x100cm
2024
Price: 2950 euro excl vat & shipping
In 1490, Leonardo da Vinci delved into the architect Vitruvius' theory on human movement within circles and squares, blending the human form with geometry.
He used male models and cadavers to study and highlight the “ideal body”, emphasizing perfect proportions akin to human anatomy. This exploration, rooted in the belief that "man is the measure of all things" as the philosopher Protagoras said.
This belief impacted the understanding of the female body, historically overshadowed by the male perspective.
This series challenges the traditional focus on the Vitruvian man, now exploring anatomy through abstract, expressive strokes with a queer approach.
Imagine if Vitruvius had been a woman and Leonardo had been Leonora – how would this have shaped our world?

Dear friends🎥
Tomorrow, Friday 27 October 7pm-10pm I will show two of my performance videos at Open Video XVI, an international group exhibition curated by #jannetalstad and Kunstrum Fyn
Janne Talstad started the Open Video exhibitions concept in 2014 and since then hundreds of art videos have been shown around the world, including Orkney Islands, Hong Kong and Italy. Tomorrow Open Video XVI will open and exhibit a number of very exciting artworks from Danish and Norwegian artists, and have talks with #jannetalstad and #henrikplengejakobsen
The exhibition runs all weekend, with more talks, and the hosts are #CrispinGurholt and #Helga-MarieNordby who run the place and have many other exciting projects going on. So come to Froerup (close to Nyborg) this weekend and keep an eye out for upcoming events.
Tomorrow I will be present and hope to see you, the videos will run all weekend. I show One Minute Movements from 2011 and One Minute Movements no 2 from 2020. In addition to both performances, exploring what is possible to perform intuitively with one's own body there is also an exciting time aspect. In 2011 I graduated from the #FunenArtAcademy and had just become a mama of three. In 2020, the pandemic raged and in the middle of all the rules and regulations, homeschooling, working from home, staying inside, my daughter and I wanted to see what two bodies, 31 years apart, intuitively needed to dance, jump and kick out.
Come and explore these and many other exciting works of art. See you

Same landscape, different views (Fortaleza, Brazil)
Acrylic and polymer on canvas
130x150cm
2023
Fortaleza (Brazil)
In the picturesque coastal town of Fortaleza, Brazil, life went on with the vibrant energy and the city pulse. Dandara, a gentle and kind trans woman, lived a quiet existence. However, fate took a dark turn one day when a group of young boys crossed her path.
In a heartbreaking display of cruelty, they captured her on film, subjecting her to a barrage of attacks from every angle. With bare hands, relentless kicks, and makeshift weapons, they inflicted pain upon her fragile body. Dandara, overwhelmed and unable to walk, found herself at the mercy of their torment. As she pleaded for her life, her battered body drenched in blood, the boys performed even more degrading actions. In an act of finality, they transported her emancipated body in a wheelbarrow and drove her into a shadowed alley, putting an end to her short life.
Yet, even in the face of such unspeakable brutality, Dandara's spirit remained indomitable. On her last day, she wore a vibrant yellow t-shirt, a symbol of her resilience and inner strength. As blood stained her face, she found solace in the fabric, gently wiping away the evidence of her suffering. Today, that very t-shirt hangs on a clothesline, swaying in the gentle breeze by the palm trees that line the sun-kissed coast.
Let us forever remember Dandara as a beacon of compassion and acceptance. Though her life was tragically cut short, she is leaving an indelible imprint on the hearts of those who knew her and the countless others who carry her memory.
Dandara lived to be 42 years old.

Body storage III
130x100cm
2023
“Body storage” are paintings inspired by Renaissance and Baroque illustrations from medical science. The foundation of medical science was created by men via studies of the male body, i.a. corpses, which were raised from the Tiber, and were studied and drawn. Only much later was the knowledge of female anatomy incorporated into medical science and teaching. I transform my own studies of all bodies into androgynous hybrids and erase the barrier; the gender.
As a queer artist, I like to blur the lines and draw attention to what binds us together. Instead of differences, I highlight the similarities and in “Body storage”, our emotional life. Where is the feeling of being crushed stored, and which memories have been stored where? Under the skin, our memories good and bad are kept; we are a kind of warehouse of memories. Moments obtained in different cells, all the times we were broken, the traumas and defeats we suffered, but also the love, the fleeting happiness and the wounds.

Keeping up with the norms III
70x39cm
2023
In a world full of norms and unwritten rules on how to be a “real normal person” orderly and polite, it is sometimes frustrating to be an lgbtq person who actually lives up to the rules, but is still not accepted. But it is also a liberation not to fit into the systems, because then you can mold your own world and break out of the sometimes old fashioned traditions.
This series depicts the norms surrounding the home, its interior, and order, and also the society’s rules of romance.

Dear friends - new artwork
🌄
Searching for that silver lining IV
Acrylic and polymer on canvas
40x60cm
2023
🌱
I found myself constantly hoping for better times. It was like I was under a spell or maybe trying to swim but kept drowning, I was restless.
Then I suddenly remembered the dharma teachings about life as a continuum with ups and downs, and the moment I once again accepted the fact that happiness is fleeting and can't be fixated, the silver lining started to appear.
This series shows humans, some are just a skeleton, searching for that feeling of acceptance and healing, while the sun sets and the wild nature has almost disappeared due to our habits and needs. What do you need to be happy and whole, and are you also waiting for that beautiful silver lining that arises when the sunlight finally breaks through the dark rainy clouds?

Dear friends
A short update on the process from working with the Leonora/Leonardo series🫀
My fascination with anatomy has followed me for many years, this time I almost sculpted the figures in watercolor layers to investigate the intimate sphere, distance, attraction, symbiosis🗿
I am happiest when I am close to my wife or hugging my children or friends. 10 seconds of hugging and oxytocin is produced which reduces the stress level🤗
Read much more about this series and see prices on the website🖼️
Thanks for following
