while Her Imperious Condescension's colonial pursuits never falter, She does take breaks.

And when She stops, So do I.

And, on some rare occasions, when the crew leaves the docked ship to visit a space station,

I get to leave with them.

Onboard the station, they take care of me, as ordered.

I can't function well without the wires anymore.

Doesn't matter, I'm always connected to wires these days.

The mechanics dote on me, and I'm often the most intact of the helmsmen docked for maintenance.

Sometimes I wish the crew would be more careless with me, and give me a chance to fade, like the rest of them do.

But, I know that all She will give me are a few, rare, days.

Spent in my small body looking outside, for as long as She will allow. So I go through the motions.

The Second Signless folio is among the most famous of the surviving pages from the Book of the Signless, and its intricate symbolism has drawn much interest of those studying the history of Alternia. It is believed to have been illuminated by His Disciple herself due to the prevalence of feline lusii figures. Analysis of the pigments has revealed that while most were created from lusus blood, the rich pink tones were created from Alternian pink moonstone, a rare gemstone found in meteors of lunar origin on the troll planet, due to the rarity of seadweller lusus blood. Portions of it are also decorated with gold leaf. It has drawn much attention from the followers of the Creators for many reasons, from its foretelling of the Knight of Blood to its illuminated depictions of events from the Great Game to the belief of some historians that it was one in the possession of the Maid of Time.

It’s seems like many of the beta and alpha trolls are somewhat unusual even within each of their own blood castes, and the reason I think for this is probably due to ectobiology and possibly Karkat making mistakes while creating them. For the same reason I wonder if Rose and Dave having purple and red eyes, and Roxy and Dirk having pink and orange eyes could perhaps be a symptom of ectobiology, since the paradox clones and their offspring are technically not actual humans or trolls, due to not being descended from the humans on Earth/trolls from Alternia. It makes sense that unusual mutations from their planets regular species could occur. Case in point, Karkat and Kankri’s human like candy blood color that is entirely a process of ectobiology and doesn’t exist on Alternia/Beforus til the sufferer and Karkat land on it. Equius’s inconvenient super strength that labels him as a “freak” by the narrator, that only the strongest lusus would take care of, and could be considered a mutation. The summoner (Rufioh) has wings that no other troll has. Sollux has a mutant brain that foretells doom and torments him. The helmsman presumably has these issues too. Vriska and Mindfang have unusually good mind persuasion powers for being a highblood. Aranea particularly controlled thousands of ghosts somehow! Kanaya is one of the only trolls who enjoys fashion and can be resurrected after death into basically a light vampire. A good amount of the trolls have unique mutations that have never been seen before, are sometimes more inconvenient than helpful, and actively make these troll’s lives miserable. But ultimately it is these things that preemptively make it so they are able to win the game. Of course I wonder if many of these mutations were accidentally caused by Karkat.

Commission for Zerorider56, featuring the newest addition to the Space Voyagers cast! This guy is quite a bit different from the ones I've done so far, and probably the most alien feeling one yet, but he was a really neat character to design, and this is my first time doing a character with four arms too. xp I also had to be a bit of a show designer for this one, and come up with something interesting for a character with two huge toes, lol.

Zerorider56 writes: "The helmsman of the Voyagers. Brash, rude, ill-mannered, yet nurturing, fond, and loyal. Gnork has seen the good, bad and ugly in life and doesn’t have the time nor the patience to put up with people’s rubbish. Often gives crude remarks and swears in his native tongue. He prefers the direct approach and will be blunt with his opinions. Despite his rough exterior and boorish personality, he does show genuine fondness for the crew members even if he prefers solitude to reflect. When it comes to family and kids, he's developed a more nurturing side due to his past experiences with his former partner and knows when to be patient when it concerns the young members of the Voyagers. (To the artist, he is middle-aged in our concept of aging. Although in the context of the story, his race have short lifespans so he'd be 32, which would translate roughly to 52 human years.)"
