"idia!" a sudden call for the upperclassman's attention - and an even more sudden shove of his phone into the other boy's hands. "tag in." was the only forewarning he got before the new stage of the rhythm game started up, cute chibi anime girl running onto the foremost left part of the stage. if anybody could perfect score SS! this hellstage, it had to be idia!! (hehe little random thought thrown ur way >:3c )

"Eek!" Idia jumps in shock at the call and at the phone being shoved into his hands. He fumbles with it and nearly drops it but manages to grasp it before it tumbles out of his arms. By the time he flips the screen upwards, the music is already playing and the countdown is starting. Is he really being forced to complete this stage without any prep or warning? Talk about a surprise challenge!

The stage starts off deceptively simple with inputs coming on the beat, but as the music starts to swell and the chorus hits, an entire flurry of notes start pouring in. This difficulty is ruthless, and the devs definitely pulled out all the stops for it, either that or someone really hates the players: streams and jumpchains into triples and quads. For a casual rhythm game enjoyer this would be impossible. It's a little hard just playing it while holding the phone like this, and he would much prefer to have his headphones linked up, but Idia makes do. All his fingers dance across the screen with a nimbleness and agility that would make Coach Vargas weep. He even waits for that final note that sneaks up and ruins unsuspecting first-time players' attempts.

The victory screen plays. Full combo. All perfect. SS score.

"Dun-da-da-dun! Perfect score, GGEZ!" Idia shows Miri the ending screen with the full breakdown. Sure enough, there's physically no other way of getting a higher score. Idia had perfectly chained all the notes together. He's obviously cleared this before, but it's always nice to practice. It's not often that Idia gets to show off a little, either.

"Next time find something that's actually challenging."
