20年前、学校終わりに大阪の丸ビルにあったタワレコに駆け込んでしっかりフラゲした思い出のアルバム。もう丸ビル自体が無いなんて！(実際は建て替え前)

当時のlive hell seeには行っていなくてセットリストはアルバムの曲順通りだったよって言う情報だけは何故かゲットしていた。

最近になって若い男の子(風)にうつつを抜かしている間にも頑張って活動していた事はちゃんとチェックしていましたよ。新譜も聴いていた。サブスクだけど。

50歳になったばっかりの五十嵐さんを拝むべく久しぶりになんばHatch到着。番号は早かったけどすでに最前は埋め尽くされていたのでスタンディングのミキサー横最前を陣取り。

ライブはちょこっとずつMCを挟みながらアルバムの曲順通りに進んでいった。

「20年前から聴いてるって人？」って中畑さんが言うのでもちろん手を上げたら「うわぁ。。。」って言ってた。（笑）

「嬉しいけど、うわぁ、、」って感じ。らしい。

でも私にとっては特別なアルバム。変に落ち着くし癒されるのです。別に20年前を思い出すとか特にないし感傷に浸るわけでもない。ただ聴くたびにいいなぁ、好きだなぁって思うのです。

だから当時ギリギリで見逃した“Live Hell-See” を20年ぶりに体感できて感無量って感じ！！

これからもずっと聴いていくアルバムです。

アナログ持ってないんだけど、欲しい。

the claim that roman was expressing her own racist and ableist views in her comments about kendall's kids + the supporting argument that she defended shiv, in part, because she cares about the preservation of the bloodline... as if this isn't the same person who called their dad's sperm "hellseed" and until recently, assumed shiv's womb would devour the baby (that she's kind of impenetrable but also forever youthful just like roman). it's not even that roman doesn't have racist/ableist beliefs at all but like, this is just such a bad argument for that.

Connor is literally a nofap guy and his reason for this is that he thinks masturbation is “spilling good seed” as in it’s wasting sperm that should be used for procreation. Connor’s pro-natalism is transactional because it turns marriage/sexual partners and children into investments. Wasting sperm would be the same as wasting capital. Every sperm is “good” because every sperm holds potential to generate more value so, all pregnancy is good and all death is bad. This is seen in his literal financially transactional relationship with Willa. Even his motivation to actually propose to Willa was his presidential campaign. I don’t think that this means his relationships are emotionless or disingenuous rather, I think that the emotions are mediated through these exchanges and he believes that happiness could be found in these transactions. This is actually quite close to how Logan understands relationships but, Connor’s been unable to successfully make returns on Logan’s investment in him and has actually been quite a drain.

Roman’s inability to ejaculate into someone means that he’s only ever able to “spill good seed.” His attraction to father figures and by extension, a particular version of masculinity, only emphasises this. There’s an absence of a “mother” in this dynamic because he is the one taking that role despite being inadequate in it. Having sex with him would be a waste of “good seed” on the top’s part as well, making his body a site of death; he is the opposite of a mother in that regard. He can’t reproduce and frankly, he seemingly doesn’t want to. He also seems to have a rather anti-natalist view of reproduction, at least within their family. He calls his own father’s sperm “hellseed,” and says Shiv’s womb is lined with teeth to cannibalise the baby. I’d argue that this even extends to his constant jabs at Kendall’s parenting because in a way, he’s saying “You probably shouldn’t have had kids.” Roman’s deification of this father while seeing his sperm as “hellseed” suggests that he doesn’t see his own life as inherently valuable, that his earthly existence is punishment itself and not something he needs to feel greatful for. I’m pretty sure he just doesn’t understand the value people, especially pro-natalists like Connor or even Logan, would see in having babies.

Somewhat ironic to Roman’s deathly existence, he sees himself as Baby, genuinely has arrested development and therefore, has no desire to be a parent. Along with his anti-natalist views, this means he feels no obligation to do so nor does he feel guilt about this. Roman’s deathliness is also seen in his meager diet, nihilism and passiveness. Regarding his diet and his passiveness in particular, they’re apart of how Roman’s femininity is distinctly girlish, as opposed to womanly (maternal). It combines his immaturity and his femininity, making for that “Beautiful Princess Disorder” thing he’s got. Part of that is his romantic vision of marriage as being about true and eternal love. This contrasts Connor’s view of relationships as transactional and particularly, that the pretense of a transaction is necessary to express emotions. To Roman, transactions are a hindrance for that because emotions are far too powerful and amorphous to be adequately expressed through mere transactions.

It's still fucking funny that Roman and Connor have nearly opposite views of sex, love, and reproduction.
