Pumila si Joy sa immigration hawak ang kanyang mga papeles. Medyo nagulat siya kasi kakaunti lang ang nasa pila ngayon. Usually kasi mahaba ang pila sa immigration. Dahil nga konti lang ang nakapila, mabilis siyang nakalusot sa immigration. Hindi ito stressful kumpara nung unang beses niyang punta sa Hong Kong.

Sa loob ng tatlong taon, nagawa niyang balikan ang tunay niyang gustong gawin, ang maging nurse. Sa tatlong taon na yun, nagawa niyang alagaan ang kanyang ama. Nagawa niyang maging masaya para sa sarili. Ngunit sa tatlong taon na yun, araw-araw din niyang iniisip kung kamusta na si Ethan. Walang araw niyang hindi inisip kung may babalikan pa ba siya sa Hong Kong.

Hanggang ngayon na pabalik siya sa Hong Kong, iisa lang ang naiisip niyang gagawin niya agad. Meron nang Facebook page ang bar ni Ethan sa Hong Kong. Nag-uusap pa rin silang dalawa sa Facebook. Doon sila nagtatawagan o nag-uusap. Huling balita ni Joy kay Ethan, residente na raw siya doon.

Sa lahat ng pwedeng puntahan ni Joy sa Hong Kong, napagdesisyunan niyang sa Ethan’s Joy siya unang pupunta. Gustong-gusto na sabihin ni Joy na babalik na siya kay Ethan pero pinigilan niya ang sarili niya. Wala pa siyang nakukwento kay Ethan tungkol sa bagong trabaho niya sa Hong Kong.

Nagpahinga muna si Ethan sa isang table sa may sulok. Hinayaan niya muna si Jhim na mag-handle nung bar. Busy siya sa phone niya nang may ibigay si Jhim na drink, “May nagpapabigay.” Nagulat siya kasi sino bang magbibigay ng drink sa owner mismo? Sinundan niya ng tingin kung saan nakatingin si Jhim. Doon niya nakita kung sino ang nagpapabigay ng drink.

Walang isip-isip ay tumakbo si Ethan papunta sa taong nagbigay ng drink sa kanya.

May mga lugar na pangmatagalan. May mga lugar na dinadaanan lang. May mga lugar ding binabalikan. Tulad din ng tao. May mga dumadaan lang. Meron ding pangmatagalan. May mga tao ding binabalikan.

“Bumalik ka,” sabi ni Ethan na para bang hindi makapaniwala.

Tumango-tango si Joy habang nakangiti. “Sabi ko babalik ako ‘di ba?” Niyakap ni Ethan si Joy sa sobrang saya niya.

Pinaupo niya si Joy sa katapat niyang upuan para makapag-usap pa sila. “Hanggang kailan ka dito?” tanong ni Ethan habang inaasikaso si Joy.

“Pinapaalis mo na ako agad?” nagtatampong tanong ni Joy.

Natawa si Ethan. “Syempre hindi. Nagtatanong lang.” Sabay nilang ininom ang nakahandang inumin sa harap nila.

Hinintay ni Joy magsalita si Ethan. “So kailan flight mo pauwing Pilipinas?”

Kunwaring nag-iisip si Joy. “Hmm, hindi ko pa alam eh. Depende kung gaano katagal kontrata ko,” sagot ni Joy nang may ngiti sa labi. Hindi pa rin maintindihan ni Ethan yung sinasabi ni Joy kaya tinuloy na niya yung sasabihin niya. “Dito na ako magtatrabaho, Ethan. Nurse na ako dito, Ethan!”

Hindi pa rin nagsi-sink in sa utak ni Ethan yung sinabi ni Joy. “So, hindi mo na ako iiwan?”

Napatigil si Joy. Napangiti siyang muli. “No more goodbyes.”

Reasons why ‘Hello Love, Goodbye’ is worth watching

It is not your typical romantic cliche movie

-The story revolves around Joy (Kathryn Bernardo), a domestic helper in HongKong who has been working hard to provide for her family and save enough money to be able to fulfill her dream of working in Canada as a nurse. While running away from the police for fear of getting arrested for taking a side job as a waitress, she meets Ethan, a fellow Filipino who’s working as a bartender on the same bar where Joy works at. At first, Joy ignored all of Ethan’s advances but eventually warmed up to him, became friends and fell in-love. Cliche? Well, that part of the story is pretty much typical in the romance genre, but what makes it one of a kind is that how the issues that they are facing with their individual lives affects their relationship. It is not only relatable to our dear OFWs but to everyone in general. If you’re going to choose between the person you love and chasing your life-long dream, who or what will you choose? If you pick one over the other, how sure are you that you will not have any regrets in the end? Even if you’re not in a relationship we all come to the point in our lives where we get to decide what we really want and that’s tough, because the decisions we make now depicts what our future will be.That’s what makes this story complex and realistic.

Great cast ensemble, superb acting and amazing chemistry brought to us by KathDen

-I admit I am not a fan of Kathryn, Alden, Kathniel and Aldub but KathDen really delivered the kind of chemistry that I’m rooting for. They may not be in a relationship in real life, but in that film they made me believe how madly in-love they are with each other, from the way Alden looked at Kathryn, to their body languages, and the way they said their lines really affected me the best way possible. I’d say kudos to Direk Cathy Garcia-Molina for bringing out the best in these two. I have always acknowledged Alden as an amazing actor but his performance beats all of his other performances in his previous TV shows and movies combined. Kathryn on the other hand has this wholesome teeny-bopper image and I never imagined that she could pull-off such a difficult character, it was a whole different Kathryn. KathDen are living proof that it only takes two great actors to deliver an unforgettable, squeal-worthy chemistry on-screen.

-The rest of the cast were great too, there’s Kakai Bautista, Joross Gamboa, Lovely Abella to shed some non-stop laughter. Maymay did her very best despite being new, I believe she will improve and is capable of giving so much more so I’m wishing her the best of luck. 

-We maybe impressed with KathDen but I think Direk Cathy also deserves to be recognized as she is the one who worked twice as hard in order to to create this masterpiece, if she doesn’t get an award because of this film I’d be really pissed. 

The OSTs guuuuuuys! 

-’Ikaw at Ako’ is probably one of the most romantic OPM songs ever, but now every single time I hear this I remember the bittersweet moments Ethan and Joy shared! ‘Kung ‘di rin lang ikaw’ is another favorite which also added some extra oompf to the already kilig and masakit KathDen moments. These songs fit the entire story perfectly. 

One of the best movie experience ever!

-I swear guys, you won’t regret watching this film. You’ll laugh, cry, and fall in-love (to think that I don’t really watch a lot of romantic films), and I’m proud to say that a Filipino movie gave me this kind of experience. 

Would definitely rate this a solid 100% (believe me when I say it’s that good!) to our kababayans abroad and non-filipino KathDen fans, enjoy! :)

I didn’t wanna call it out but since someone else did I’m gonna because it pisses me the fuck off. Not to just suck myself off here but I noticed pretty quick this was probably AI because how are you updating 4 stories at once with multiple chapters (10+) a day unless u have HELLA backlog/drafts? Like I’ve been seeing that since s2 came out - ppl who upload multiple chapters a day but were clearly written in advance and just published in bulk. THATS FINE. If you’ve got chapters stock piled and are excited to get them out, do it! I’m also not blindly saying this, I read part of the story and it feels written by AI.

I just hate SO BAD that now one of the most popular fics for Arcane / caitvi, if u sort from most kudos, is written seemingly almost entirely by AI. And yes, I am confident that I can tell the difference between simply unpolished writing and AI. There are some really phenomenal writers in this fandom and people who clearly put a lot of time and effort into their writing. It just pisses me off that someone who puts little to no effort into something gets more recognition than some of the fic writers in this fandom who put a lot of work into their stuff but maybe don’t get a ton of notoriety.

If the writer sees this, I would happily beta read / give respectful constructive feedback for free on anything written from your brain and not a robot.

TLDR; Don’t support fics that use AI :)
