His Favourite Streamer
Opening his laptop, Indigo took a seat on his bed, pulling his knees close to his chest. The irregular yet steady thump of his heart against his ribs echoed into his legs as he typed in his password and pulled up one of his most visited pages. He stared at Mori’s avatar on screen and the words in the countdown below it – “The stream begins in three minutes”. “It’s like he knows when I need him…” whispered Indigo, feeling his heart begin to slow at simply the thought of hearing Mori again soon. The screen lit up as his beloved streamer’s voice poured into his headphones. Indigo’s tense body began to relax as he listened to Mori’s standard greetings but his breath caught when he laid eyes on the plush in his hands. “Before we get into today’s game at hand—I’m itching to find out what happened in the ravine too, don’t worry—I just wanted to thank the lovely person who got me this Maeryth plush!” Just as fast as it slowed, Indigo’s heartbeat spiked as he leaned closer, waiting for them to continue. “The note that came with it said it was from an Indigo M. It was one of the sweetest notes I’d ever read actually.” The streamer gave the plush a squeeze. “Thank you so much, Indigo; I love it.” He gestured off-screen. “She sleeps on my bed with me every night, I don’t know how I used to live without her.” Indigo’s face burned. Shakily, he typed out a ‘you’re welcome’ into the live chat and nearly passed out when he saw Mori’s eyes scan over his message and brighten with delight. The pleased chuckle that escaped his lips almost sent him into cardiac arrest. “I’m glad to see you’re watching today too. I appreciate fans like you.”
