Looking back at the 11-minute era, it really feels like they were going for certain social themes/topics but not actually digging very far into that exploration...
With season 12 you have the "robots are people too" stuff with Pixal and Dyer, with season 13 you have the whole slavery aspect (but they say the slavery was unique to only ONE ruler which makes things a bit odd cus why is slavery all of a sudden just Necessary for Shintaro,) with The Island they TRIED to do a subversion of the "Evil Islanders" trope but they still had the Keepers attempt to sacrifice people to appease an angry god which is ... not very smart on the writers behalf??? And then in season 14 there was Kalmaar's whole "humans are worthless shitbags who don't deserve this world" stuff.
Idk I feel like looking at all these seasons and whatnot it truly does feel like for a random period of time they decided "yeah we'll get a bit political with it" but then did not. Do much if at all ?
