just got reminded of david oakes personally telling me that neil jordan deliberately screwed over juan at the end of his arc and completely downplayed how he went beyond the intent of the characters at first, or to quote david, juan became a "victim" of neil's imagination lmaoo
#and by “got reminded” meaning i keep seeing aemond fans throwing hissy fits over aemond's character apparently being ruined (??)#i don't agree though because he's always been self serving from the very start and the said 'dutifulness' was just a mask#that being said i fr do love aemond's character even more now i mean it's literally when cesare only becomes pathetic when he sees lucrezia#helaena is lucrezia in this scenario#anyway i think neil genuinely flopped with how he handled juan at the end and all because he needed cesare to look like the pinnacle#and like don't get me wrong neil is indeed a great showrunner but he never had the vision at first#and these young actors (holly françois david) carried the show and gave neil new ideas#(like holly and françois making ceslu canon...david playing juan as having feelings for both ceslu..etc)#anyway yeah <3#david oakes#juan borgia#the borgias#text post
