We recently went on an expedition to the Lost Sierra — a lesser-known part of the Sierra Range (thus the nickname), away from the crowds, that offers pristine wilderness landscapes and plentiful 'Big Bike Friendly' trail riding. For the trip, we spooned on the new Heidenau K60 Ranger 70/30 (% dirt/street) dual sport tires which feature a reinforced carcass with high puncture resistance off-road and an alternating crossbar tread pattern to give them improved cornering stability on asphalt. Compared to the K60 Scout's, the new Rangers offer much better grip on soft/slick surfaces and we had almost every type of terrain to test them on during this last trip, from rocks and mud to wet pavement and loamy dirt. So far, they've performed quite well in each situation we've put them in but we're still on the lookout for any kinks in the armor.
