For the ask game!! 👕, specifically #9, because I'm weird and I always love to know what characters smell like what does Liam smell like?!

omg you know i have such a hard time conceptualizing what things smell like but i do have a perfume (now discontinued) from BPAL called "tintagel" and this is the official description of it:

Spicy mulled wine flowing through the musky heat, warm leather and bright clash of armor, the damp branches of Cornish hawthorn, blackthorn, juniper, English elm and bayberry, and the magical tingle of dragon's blood resin.

And honestly you can really smell that juniper and what I would call a "damp branches" smell like it is super bright though a lot of reviews are calling it spicy, i definitely wouldn't call it spicy. I really just smell the hawthorn and juniper.

But something like that, but toned down. Smells like a crisp autumn morning in the highlands or something idk

(Also, to answer another 👕 question, 15: would your character wear an outfit someone else picked out: YEAH, HEY TEMMY & DAKOTA, FASHION PHOTOSHOOT DAY not the knight one that's a separate occasion)

👠 haru - oh he can confidently walk in them for sure. he would probably only wear them on special occasions, when hes not in Work Mode (so counts on fingers like. 3 or 4 times in his life lol)

lotus - i think he literally lives in heels. at least small ones. i hate to think how many times he hurt himself terribly when young and trying to make sure he could do anything with heels on that he can also do without. he likes to feel tall.

🔺️ haru - i think he likes... round things. any one thing is hard and i think he'd struggle to answer this himself, but he likes curved shapes - blade of an axe, petals, leaves, a crescent moon. that kind of thing.

lotus - almost the exact opposite i think lol. he's... a bit of a freak when it comes to knives, i think. so he loves sharp things. sharp heels, sharp daggers, actively shapes his nails to as sharp a tip as possible, etc.

😆 haru - sighs dreamily. i think hes more of a guy to stifle his laugh. giggle and maybe snorting if hes not careful. and because he tries to smother it, it just makes him laugh for longer. i think its silly in an endearing way.

lotus - good lord. i think if you ever hear him laugh you're in trouble. i imagine most of the time he laughs it's quite cold. sarcastic, demeaning, "oh you really don't realise you're about to die do you?" laughs aren't common from him. i think if he was genuinely amused, you'd be more likely to get a "hm!" and a slight smile rather than anything else. short and sweet.

C: Least Favorite Game of all time?

I've played a lot of crappy games, but I think it'd be a tie between chrono cross and aragami 2. I find it pretty funny that I dislike them for similar reasons- the core of what irritates me the most is that with the increased scope, they throw away any connection or continuity from the game they're apparently sequels to. Both could be fine, or even great games on their own (aragami 2 would need a massive bug and performance patch tho lol) but they failed in their job as sequels for me. That's what makes them hurt more, the clinging onto the brand name despite clearly not wanting to continue with the expectations of that identity 😔

G: What’re you currently playing?

Very slowly playing Bowser's Inside Story on my DS, but I haven't played it in a bit... And Re4 with you >:)

Hoping to start up one of the games I reeeeeaaaaaalllllyyyyyyy wanted to play this year but haven't had the chance to yet, but idk what I'll play. I miss my PS4 😭

U: Favorite Handheld title?

If we're going by sheer numbers, it'd be Tetris ultimate LMAO. I play that the most on my 3DS >:)

But, for a real answer... I might have to say Minish Cap. I really love that game, and the aesthetic of the toon style worked really well in pixel art form here! It was a nice story to play, and I was fascinated with the puzzles that revolved around the gimmick of being small haha. It's very cute, and I had so much fun playing it over and over as a kid

Z: Game character you most associate with?

Associate with what lol. This is weirdly worded, so I'm going to interpret it as a character I personally feel connected with - and that'd be frog from chrono trigger 🐸

I can relate to a lot of things he's going through and how he presents himself, and I admire a lot about him. Even tho Magus is my fave, frog is close behind, and I even made a little frog from these weird bead thingies to keep on my desk during high school as an encouragement charm (among others hehe)

N: Favorite protagonist?

Claire Redfield. She's just a super cool lady, I like how she's very proactive (didn't hear from her brother for a while, decided to come up and see what's going on), she's very clever and resourceful (basically everything in all the games, but especially Code Veronica), and she's able to think quickly and stay calm under pressure (her taking care of Sherry during the Raccoon City incident, and her taking care of Moira in Revelations 2- even going as far as adapting how she worked with Moira so she didn't have to use a gun as she was uncomfortable using one).

I also really like how she's not an action hero type where she's super into the action guns-a-blazing on the battlefield, she takes a much more humanitarian approach and wants to help continue the kind of work her brother does by working with organisations that help the recovery and rebuilding after the fact. It's unfortunate that she was kinda butchered and not given a chance to shine that way in the animated movies/show, because we already have basically the rest of the resi protag group to take care of the action hero archetype. I really appreciate that she's obviously taken her brother's teachings of combat and weaponry training to heart, and can step up when the situation calls for it, I'd just love to see her more where her passions seem to be where she's working with Terrasave and such.

O: Favorite antagonist?

Albert Wesker. He's got an iconic look with the sunnies, and the whole black leather thing going on. He's a double crosser, develops a god complex, and he's a little bit goofy.

He starts off a lot more suave and collected, only letting his ego slip through when he's let himself get caught and reveals that he's been a double crosser all along. There's not much textually (in the remake, but especially not the og lol) about how harrowing that must be- but I like thinking about how fucked it is that you literally trusted this man as your superior for AGES just to have him use that trust as he leads you to your deaths in order to collect combat data for the enemy.

After that point, he lets go if any pretence and just leans fully into the superiority complex he has and working in the shadows to get what he wants. In all honesty, he goes so completely off the rails that his ideas/motives as a villain don't make any sense, which betrays the supposed intellect he's got, however it does illustrate how far off the rails he's gone and how highly he thinks of himself. I like the early stages (re1-cv kinda era) where it's grounded, but still a little bit goofy. I still wanna write a prequel series about how he was inducted into Umbrella lmao

7. favorite animal? why?

SCRIBS. Would it be any other animal than a scrib. They're too fucking adorable. Can't go to Morrowind without adopting a pet scrib!!!

are they associated with a certain color? what color do they wear the most?

SOSOSOSOSO SO. SO. I draw them a lot with red, which is the primary color I associate with them. Red is associated with House Dagoth and is in general a very Morrowind/Nerevarine-y color to me, and it creates a lot of drama that definitely implicates the Sixth House in pieces with heavy red coloring >:3 BUUUUUT their outfit is black and green. Green being the second color I associate with them, but only loosely. Green, in my canon, is the color Nerevar wore. >:3 Listen I know House Indoril is mainly blue, but... Nerevar married into House Indoril, and the color symbolism that comes from Voryn and Nerevar wearing opposite colors is TOO GOOD to ignore!! So, green is another color I associate with Hadrevan, for their connection to Nerevar... hehrerhe I've actually been dying to talk about my color decisions with Hadrevan and Nerevar for a while, but I haven't posted anything with Nerevar wearing the green/his current design so I haven't had a chance BUT YOU ASKED SO THANK YOU

2. what sort of music would they like? have you thought about what genres or bands do they lean towards? do they have a favorite song?

This is a really good question because I have... no idea, actually. I feel like they might like classic rock or something. Or like... Radiohead. Idk. Those are the vibes I'm getting from them in a modern setting

3. weapon of choice? any particular reason they chose their weapon?

Shortswords! I often draw/write them with a steel wakizashi, mainly because that's one of the weapons I have while playing them in Morrowind, lmao. But, they prefer short swords for the flexibility and speed, as they're not super strong and wouldn't be able to wield a large sword. They prefer to be quick and leave room for them to dodge and stuff!

4. how crafty/resourceful are they?

They're not very intelligent, but they can be pretty crafty! They spent a lot of time in the wilderness rather than in cities, and the centuries of experience they have with that (at the time of Skyrim, at least) has honed them into being very well able to survive off the land.

5. how do they typically dress? does their wardrobe lean more towards practicality or aesthetics?

Oh, from the very beginning to the present, it's been more about aesthetics than practicality. Which is kinda funny, because you would expect someone like them to prioritize practicality, and they do to a degree! Nothing they wear is impractical, but they also prefer to look good. Which is why their outfit in early Morrowind had them mostly shirtless with only some armor covering their sword arm, and their late Morrowind outfit had them donning a whole ass cape for no other reason than to look badass as fuck.
