He Got Up!

“He is not here; for He is risen, as He said…” Matthew 28:6, NKJV.

“And if Christ is not risen, then our preaching is empty and your faith is also empty…For since by man came death, by Man also came the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive” 1 Cor. 15:14 & 21-22, NKJV.

If you go to Jesus’ tomb in Golgotha, you will find he’s not there. If you looked for his bones, you wouldn’t be able to find them either. The reason is God’s word is true. It’s because he’s not there. Jesus got up.

The Gospel hinges not only on the death and burial of Jesus Christ but also on the truth that He got up. Without him rising from the dead, the doctrine of Jesus is nullified, hopeless, and without power. Yet, he rose from the grave by the power of almighty God and is alive, even right now, as you read this devotional.

Your faith and joy can stand in a mighty Savior in the midst of whatever you’re facing. Having Jesus means there is always a rising for you. It may look dark as the grave, but your light will always come. If He conquered the devil, death, and the grave, he can surely handle what you’re going through. Through him, you will trample over the enemy. If he saved and freed you then, he will surely save and free you now. He’s not dead, and He lives in you.

You will live and not die to declare the works of the Lord! God gave life again to one son. He will give life again to you, His son, also. Jesus got up then, and you can get up now.

Prayer: Father, I praise you for the great salvation through Jesus Christ, your Son. He has risen. Jesus, you got up! That means Father will always cause me to get up too. I thank you for joy and abundant life in Christ. I pray that many eyes are opened to receive the revelation of Jesus and make him their Lord and Savior today. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

The song that's on repeat in my head, "Why do you cry? He has risen!" I know people have different beliefs and some even call what I believe a "fairy tale". But, this is real! Jesus paid the ultimate price so that you and I could be redeemed! And it's very simple. Romans 10:9 tells us, "Because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."
